Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, June 2, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Terrorist attack in Boulder, Ukraine strikes Russia, Iran's nuclear potential and the number of workers testing positive for drugs hits a 20 year high. We have that. And then I'll be back with your message of the day regarding U.S. steel staying in Pittsburgh. It's coming up. But first, according to the White House director of counterterrorism Sebastian Gorka, he said the perpetrator of a terrorist attack in Boulder, Colorado, where there was a gathering to support Israel when a man male named Mohammed Sabri Solomon threw Molotov cocktails into the crowd but while yelling free Palestine. Six victims, ages 66 to 78. The FBI is investigating the attack as terrorism. This report is from Bill Malugian at Fox News that the Boulder terrorist suspect is an Egyptian national in the US Illegally as a visa overstay who entered during the Biden administration. He entered lax. On August 27th of 2022, Ukraine launched a massive drone strike against the Russian air force. According to officials in Kiev. The attack destroyed more than 40 long range bombers deep inside of Russian territory. The attack comes as peace talks between Ukraine and Moscow continue. President Zelensky said we're doing everything we can to protect our independence, our state and our people. A report from the Wall Street Journal finds Iran has enough weapons grade uranium to produce 10 nuclear bombs. US officials said it could take Tehran less than two weeks to convert the uranium into warheads. The White House press secretary released a statement following this report and said, quote, president Trump has made it clear that Iran can never obtain a nuclear bomb. It's in their best interest to accept the deal that we are proposing. The percentage of American employees testing positive for narcotics hit the highest level in two decades. 4% of workers failed a mandatory drug test last year that figures up 50% compared to 2019. Many companies no longer even screen for drugs like marijuana. POD can now be consumed legally in 18 states. Drug and alcohol abuse is responsible for 75% of all workplace injuries and 90% of workplace fatalities. Coming up next in the message of the day, we'll talk about U.S. steel remaining in Pittsburgh and what this proves, that Americans are not just economic units and this country is not just a gdp. And then we'll be back with something you might not know about the geography of Canada as it relates to President Trump's new Golden Dome missile defense system. It's going to cost $125 billion and he would like Canada to chip in a little bit. And when you know this geography, the request makes even more sense. It's all coming up.

Mike Slater filling up for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for the O'Reilly update. Message of the day. Donald Trump announced a deal made with Nippon Steel in Japan with US Steel that will keep US Steel in America. Trump said it will be controlled by the United States. Otherwise I wouldn't have made the deal. I listened to a local CBS affiliate in Pittsburgh report on this news and they interviewed the mayor of the town of one of these mills who said, we saved steel in Pittsburgh and we saved the legacy that all of our forefathers worked for. They're all looking down on us saying thank you. And then another steelworker said, I'm a third generation steel worker. I wish my father were here. He retired in 1975 and I'm going to retire soon, too. A proud steel worker. America is more than a GDP and people are more than their net worth. And life is more than a spreadsheet. And you are more than a single economic unit to be moved or replaced according to whatever makes a higher gdp. We've had a very anti human worldview these last few decades where we're not humans with souls, we're merely economic units that we must maximize. And if you can't maximize it, then dump them, throw them away, move it to China. We must reject this anti human instinct. But when you remove the soul, you go down a very anti human road. And the atheist technocrats have no concept of the soul, so we should be very careful of their schemes. So we recognize the soul. We get that right, then what? Well then we are members of a family. Now. Family is more than just husband, wife and kids. And there's a bit of a split here. Most people go down the road of saying, oh yes, family's bigger than that. It's, you know, aunts, uncles, close family friends. No, no, by bigger than husband, wife and kids, I mean going back and forward. Family extends backwards to ancestors and forward to posterity. This is what the mayor of that town outside Pittsburgh and the steelworker were both referencing when they were asked about the steel mill. They went back to their family, they went back to their ancestors, back in time. That's such a beautiful instinct these two men had. So it answers the question, what is a nation? A nation is a group of souls with strong families, connected to the past, mindful of the future, connected with a shared heritage and history and beliefs and values. That's a nation. Let me say it again. A group of souls with strong families, connected to the past, mindful for the future, connected with a shared heritage, history, beliefs and values. Now, if there's a force that wants to undo this or erode this or attack this, what would they do? Well, you attack all of them. First, in our modern society, there's no concept of a soul. Second, you attack the family. Third, you say the ancestors of you people are racist and awful. Then you force multiculturalism and say we're all a bunch of global citizens that has been force fed on us the last 50 years or so and it's over, is keeping us steel in Pittsburgh on paper alone, if you just look at the spreadsheets, is keeping US Steel in Pittsburgh the best economic decision if your goal is maximum efficiency and maximum profit in a utopian planet where we're all the same and we're one big happy global economic zone, is U.S. steel in Pittsburgh the best economic decision? Probably not. I don't know. I mean, whatever made Pittsburgh the ideal location to make steel in the first place is probably no longer super relevant or relevant as it was in the past. So sayonara Steel mill in Pittsburgh, who needs ya? But if there's more to life and more to a country and more to a town and more to a family and more to a soul than just economic efficiency, you keep the plant in Pittsburgh. Mike Slater filling it for Bill O'Reilly, something you might not know next.

I'm Mike Slater filling in for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for something you might not know. I have a fun fact about Canada here for you. The background here is that Trump is moving forward with this Golden Dome missile defense system. They think it'll cost $175 billion and the reconciliation bill has 25 billion for it already. Now, Trump wrote on Truth Social, he said, I told Canada, which very much wants to be a part of our fabulous Golden Dome system, that it will cost $61 billion if they remain a separate but unequal nation. But it will cost $0 if they become our cherished 51st state. They are considering the offer. Now. I chuckled at that, of course, when I first read it, but then I learned this fact about Canada. Think of a map of US And Canada and our border, or let me put it like this. If you were asked to draw America and Canada and then draw the border, everyone would get it wrong. I know. I think of our border with Canada as a straight line, but it's not. It is from Seattle to Minnesota, but then that border dips south, very south. So south that if you kept drawing that line, the one that goes from Seattle to Minnesota, if you kept drawing it straight, what percentage of Canada's population is south of that line? 70%. 70% of Canada's population is south of that line if you kept keeping it straight. Now if you made another line even further to the south. 50% of the population of Canada is below that line. 50% of the population of Canada lives further south than the state of Washington. The southernmost position of Canada is further south than parts of California. And I'm not the look at the map, you'll see it the furthest. Most southern portion of Canada is further south than 16 US states. It's more south than Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota. How about this one? More Americans live north of Canada's southernmost point than Canadians live in this boundary. Now, this could just be a fun, you know, geographic quirk, like a little fun trivia question. But when we're talking missile defense shield systems, you guys want in or not? Because almost all of your country is further south than a lot of America. So if you want in, that's great, but it's definitely going to cost you. Or you can become a US Territory and you can have it all for free.

In the opening segment of today's episode, Mike Slater delivers a comprehensive overview of the pressing issues in America:
Terrorist Attack in Boulder, Colorado:
A tragic incident occurred during a pro-Israel gathering where Mohammed Sabri Solomon, an Egyptian national residing illegally in the U.S. (entered on August 27, 2022, via LAX), attacked the crowd with Molotov cocktails, shouting "Free Palestine." This heinous act resulted in six fatalities aged between 66 and 78. The FBI is actively investigating the attack as terrorism.
Quote: "The Boulder terrorist suspect is an Egyptian national in the US illegally as a visa overstay who entered during the Biden administration."
(Reported by Bill Malugian at Fox News)
Ukraine's Offensive Strike Against Russia:
Amid ongoing peace talks, Ukraine launched a significant drone strike targeting the Russian air force, successfully destroying over 40 long-range bombers within Russian territory. President Zelensky emphasized Ukraine's commitment to protecting its independence and sovereignty.
Quote: "We're doing everything we can to protect our independence, our state and our people."
(Statement by President Zelensky)
Iran’s Nuclear Capabilities:
A Wall Street Journal report reveals that Iran possesses enough weapons-grade uranium to manufacture ten nuclear bombs, with the potential to convert this material into warheads within two weeks. In response, the White House issued a statement reinforcing President Trump's stance:
Quote: "President Trump has made it clear that Iran can never obtain a nuclear bomb."
(White House Press Secretary)
Rising Drug Positivity Among American Workers:
The percentage of American employees testing positive for narcotics has surged to the highest level in two decades, with 4% failing mandatory drug tests last year—a 50% increase since 2019. This rise is attributed to the legalization of certain substances, such as marijuana, in 18 states. Alarmingly, drug and alcohol abuse accounts for 75% of all workplace injuries and 90% of workplace fatalities.
Slater concludes the news segment by previewing upcoming discussions, including the significance of maintaining U.S. Steel operations in Pittsburgh and the geopolitical implications of President Trump's proposed Golden Dome missile defense system.

In a heartfelt and impassioned segment, Mike Slater addresses the importance of keeping U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh, intertwining economic decisions with human values:
Trump’s Deal with Nippon Steel:
Donald Trump announced a pivotal agreement between U.S. Steel and Nippon Steel of Japan, ensuring that U.S. Steel operations remain in America. Trump emphasized national control over the company:
Quote: "It will be controlled by the United States. Otherwise, I wouldn't have made the deal."
Local Reactions in Pittsburgh:
Slater highlights the emotional and cultural significance of this deal through interviews:
Mayor’s Statement:
Quote: "We saved steel in Pittsburgh and we saved the legacy that all of our forefathers worked for. They're all looking down on us saying thank you."
Steelworker’s Reflection:
Quote: "I'm a third-generation steel worker. I wish my father were here. He retired in 1975, and I'm going to retire soon, too. A proud steel worker."
Humanizing Economic Decisions:
Slater argues that America is more than just its GDP, emphasizing that people are not mere economic units. He critiques the modern "anti-human worldview" that prioritizes economic efficiency over the well-being and legacy of individuals and communities. By maintaining the steel mill in Pittsburgh, the nation honors its heritage and the souls of its people.
Key Insight:
"A nation is a group of souls with strong families, connected to the past, mindful of the future, connected with a shared heritage and history and beliefs and values."
Slater warns against forces that seek to undermine this by attacking the concept of the soul, the family structure, and promoting multiculturalism detached from shared national values. He emphasizes the necessity of valuing human legacy over purely economic metrics.

In the "Something You Might Not Know" segment, Mike Slater delves into an intriguing geographical analysis related to President Trump's Golden Dome missile defense system:
The Golden Dome Project:
President Trump is advancing the Golden Dome missile defense system, projected to cost $175 billion, with $25 billion allocated in reconciliation bills. Trump's proposal includes involving Canada financially:
Quote:
"I told Canada, which very much wants to be a part of our fabulous Golden Dome system, that it will cost $61 billion if they remain a separate but unequal nation. But it will cost $0 if they become our cherished 51st state."
Canada’s Geographical Peculiarities:
Slater highlights a lesser-known fact about Canada’s southern geography:
Population Distribution:
Fact: "70% of Canada's population is south of a straight-line border drawn from Seattle to Minnesota. Moreover, 50% reside below this line, placing much of Canada’s population in regions south of the U.S. border."
Comparative Southern Latitude:
Fact: "The southernmost point of Canada is further south than parts of 16 U.S. states, including Massachusetts, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota."
Implications for Missile Defense:
These geographical facts play into the strategic considerations of missile defense placement. Slater humorously yet critically examines Trump's proposition, suggesting that the geographical reality of Canada positions it favorably for defense integration:
Quote:
"Most southern portion of Canada is further south than 16 US states... So if you want in, that's great, but it's definitely going to cost you. Or you can become a US Territory and you can have it all for free."
Slater uses this analysis to underscore the complex interplay between geography, international relations, and national security strategies.
Throughout "The O’Reilly Update," Mike Slater provides a blend of hard-hitting news, socio-economic analysis, and thought-provoking commentary. The episode emphasizes the intersection of national security, economic integrity, and the human spirit, advocating for policies that honor both America's heritage and its future.
Listeners who did not tune into the episode will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key issues discussed, enriched by direct quotes and in-depth analysis that underscore the importance of maintaining America's industrial legacy and addressing emerging geopolitical challenges.
Note: Advertisements and non-content segments have been omitted to focus solely on the substantive discussions and analyses presented in the episode.
