Bill O'Reilly here. You are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.
Mike Slater
Thank you, Bill. It is Friday, June 6, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Trouble in paradise, unanimous decision, ICE milestone and this quarterback playing for another year. It's all coming up. Then Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, who Elon and the president. So Elon doesn't think that the big beautiful bill cuts enough spending. That's to put it nicely. So they had some back and forth on the X yesterday. Among other things, Elon said, without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and Republicans would be 41, 51, 49 in the Senate. Such ingratitude, he later said. Time to drop the really big bomb. Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That's the real reason why they haven't been made public. Have a nice day, DJT Trump said, I've always liked Elon and so I was very surprised. You saw the words he had for me and he hasn't said anything about me that's bad. I'd rather have him criticize me than the bill because the bill is incredible. The Supreme Court in a nine nothing decision in favor of an Ohio woman who wanted to bring an employment discrimination claim against the state, alleging she was passed over for a job while on the basis of her heterosexual orientation. The plaintiff, Marlene Ames, alleges that her employer, the Ohio Department of Youth Services, denied her a promotion and later demoted her, in both cases selecting gay candidates who were less qualified. Her supervisor at the time was also gay. Title 7 of the Civil Rights act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and sexual orientation. They call this reverse discrimination, but it's just discrimination now. The ruling means that Ames lawsuit can move forward, but doesn't necessarily mean that she will succeed in the case against her former employer. Arrests by ICE during Trump's first term topped 100,000. ICE recorded more than 2,000 arrests each day of the previous two days, a nice increase from the most recent daily average of 660 arrests during the first hundred days of Trump's term. Stephen Miller has pushed ICE for a minimum of 3,000 arrests every day. ICE has been holding around 54,000 immigrants detained in detention facilities across the country. The Trump administration is a part of the big beautiful bill asking Congress to give ICE billions of dollars to have additional deportation officers and expand detention capacity to hold 100,000 individuals at any given point. Aaron Rodgers will join the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 41 year old quarterback has confirmed this decision. He was let go by the New York jets at the end of last season, was considering retir hiring. Reports are the contract $20 million. Rogers will play his 21st season in the NFL and who is the first game against the Jets? I'm Mike Slater from Politics By Faith Bill O'Reilly with your message of the day next.

Message of the Day on this Friday. This time next year, 2026, there will be intense congressional campaigning going on coast to coast. The midterms in November 26th are historically important. That's because President Trump is redesigning the federal government and needs four years to accomplish his vision. If the Democrats gain control of the House or Senate, Mr. Trump will be severely constrained. Much depends on whether Trump's bold moves will improve the economy. We'll know that late this year as data emerges. But another major factor is the radicalization of the Democratic Party. It opposes nearly every solution President Trump is putting forth. Cracking down on illegal immigration? No. From the left. Cutting entitlement spending and downsizing government? Nope. Stopping liberal indoctrination in colleges. Democrats oppose biological men competing against women in sports. Dem support tariffs to encourage fair trade. Oppose strict punishment for criminals. No way. Hiring and school admissions based on skin color all day long. The list of progressive policies is endless. And it's like a python strangling the party. Do American voters really want to return to the Biden years? Are there prominent Democrats criticizing those years? Not that I can find. So the midterm campaigns are likely to be difficult for the left. And that, of course, is a big break for Donald Trump. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com, billoriley.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Let's go to the mail. Susan is a concierge member that I again say best gift in the world for dad. Concierge membership to billorilly.com man, we give that to Daddy, gets a free book along with it. And, you know, we help dad if he needs it. And big thing. All right, Susan says O'Reilly, your suggestion of a solution for peace and prosperity with China in order to avoid warfare, conflict with the usa. My objection is there must be trust between the two countries. No, it doesn't have to be trust between the two countries. This has to be a deal. They break the deal. They break the deal, then we take action about that. Who's going to trust China? Who? No one. Do they trust us? No. That doesn't mean you can't make a deal, Donna. I'm learning so much about China's government and the Chinese people from your analysis. Well, I'm glad. That's why we that's why I went over there. Okay. I wanted to really paint the picture. I think we did a pretty good job. We got columns and messages, everything on billow reilly.com in case you're not up to speed on my China trip. It is all there. Randy Combs, Anaheim Hills, California. I wanted to tell you, Bill, that I really enjoyed your perspective on China, especially like the way you explain the various ways Chinese see us and what's important to them in the world. Made me feel like I was there. Thank you. You know, I'm a simple man, and that is good. I break it down. I'm not telling you about the Ming dynasty. I'm not bringing in the Yangtze River. Telling you this is the way it is now because it's the most important story on earth by far. In a moment, something you might not know.

The O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. Vacation season officially underway. This summer, millions of Americans will enjoy the warm weather with road trips and flights to far off beaches. Here are the best travel destinations for 2025, as ranked by US News and World Report. In the USA, top five starts with new York City, followed by San Diego, Vegas, Honolulu. But the number one destination in America, Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The island's home to beautiful beaches, restaurants and also some great white sharks. The predators have been videotaped swimming just a few yards offshore where the tourists were oblivious. So if you go into Cape Cod, you gotta keep your eyes on the water. Overseas, Americans are heading to the UK And Ireland in great numbers. Folks looking for tropical climates are going to Brazil. The bomb is Mexico. If you are going south of the border to Mexico, you better be careful. Drug cartel violence is now rampant in all the resort areas. But the fastest growing trend is right here in the USA camping. This summer, 42 million Americans will spend at least a night under the stars. Most popular destinations are the national and state parks. Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Big Sur, Yellowstone, Great Smoky Mountains, Grand Canyon. While most folks travel for the natural beauty, another advantage is the price. Average campsite in the USA will set you back $15 a night. Between groceries, sleeping bags, flashlights, bug spray, a few days in the woods is less than $100. And here's something else you might not know. America's national park system is home to the most diverse ecosystems on Earth. From the Florida Everglades swamps to the mountains of Alaska, the parks encompass 85 million acres of land, 18,000 animal species 50,000 different plants. But tourists beware. Parks are also home to some vicious predators. Grizzlies, wolves, pythons, alligators, polar bears, even killer bees. Bring that bug spray. But have a good time. Back after this.

Summary of "The O’Reilly Update, June 6, 2025"
Bill O’Reilly’s No Spin News and Analysis presents "The O’Reilly Update" episode released on June 6, 2025. Hosted by Bill O’Reilly, the episode features a comprehensive news segment by Mike Slater, followed by O’Reilly’s own insights and audience interactions. This summary encapsulates the key discussions, insights, and conclusions drawn during the episode.
Mike Slater kicks off the episode by highlighting several pressing issues in America:
Slater delves into the recent public disagreement between Elon Musk and Donald Trump on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter). Musk criticized President Trump’s fiscal policies, asserting, "Elon doesn't think that the big beautiful bill cuts enough spending" ([00:45]). The tension escalated when Musk claimed, "Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and Republicans would be 41, 51, 49 in the Senate" ([01:10]). Trump's response was swift, defending Musk and shifting focus to insinuate that Trump’s name appears in the Epstein files, stating, "Donald Trump is in the Epstein files. That's the real reason why they haven't been made public" ([01:30]).
A landmark Supreme Court decision was announced, favoring Marlene Ames, an Ohio woman who filed an employment discrimination lawsuit. The court ruled unanimously that discrimination based on heterosexual orientation is prohibited under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Slater notes, "This ruling means that Ames lawsuit can move forward, but doesn't necessarily mean that she will succeed in the case against her former employer" ([02:00]).
Slater reports a significant increase in ICE arrests, citing that arrests during Trump's first term exceeded 100,000. Recently, ICE recorded over 2,000 arrests per day, a notable rise from the previous average of 660 ([02:20]). This surge is attributed to Stephen Miller’s push for a daily minimum of 3,000 arrests. Currently, ICE holds approximately 54,000 immigrants in detention facilities nationwide. The Trump administration supports the "big beautiful bill," which seeks Congressional approval for additional funding to expand ICE’s deportation capabilities and detention capacities ([02:50]).
In sports news, Aaron Rodgers has officially signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers after being released by the New York Jets last season. At 41 years old, Rodgers’ contract is valued at $20 million, marking his 21st season in the NFL. Slater mentions, "Aaron Rodgers will play his 21st season in the NFL and who is the first game against the Jets?" ([03:10]).
Transitioning from the news, Bill O’Reilly shares his analysis and perspective on the upcoming political landscape:
O’Reilly emphasizes the critical nature of the upcoming midterm elections on November 26, 2025. He asserts, "This time next year, 2026, there will be intense congressional campaigning going on coast to coast. The midterms in November 26th are historically important" ([09:50]). The elections are pivotal as they could determine the extent to which President Trump can implement his vision for redesigning the federal government over the next four years.
O’Reilly critiques the Democratic Party’s stance on various issues, suggesting that their opposition to Trump’s policies may hinder their electoral prospects. He lists several Democratic positions, including opposition to cracking down on illegal immigration, cutting entitlement spending, and enforcing fair trade through tariffs. O’Reilly observes, "From the left. Cutting entitlement spending and downsizing government? Nope. Stopping liberal indoctrination in colleges. Democrats oppose biological men competing against women in sports" ([10:20]). He argues that these progressive policies could alienate voters and provide an advantage to Trump in the midterms.
O’Reilly questions whether American voters desire a return to the previous administration’s era, noting a lack of prominent Democrats criticizing the Biden years. He states, "Are American voters really want to return to the Biden years? Are there prominent Democrats criticizing those years? Not that I can find" ([11:00]). This observation suggests potential vulnerabilities within the Democratic Party as they head into the elections.
Engaging with his audience, O’Reilly addresses feedback from listeners. Randy Combs from Anaheim Hills, California, praises O’Reilly’s analysis on China, noting how it enhances his understanding of Chinese perspectives: "I really enjoyed your perspective on China, especially like the way you explain the various ways Chinese see us and what's important to them in the world. Made me feel like I was there" ([11:30]). O’Reilly responds by emphasizing the importance of practical deals over mutual trust in international relations, particularly with China: "No, it doesn't have to be trust between the two countries. This has to be a deal. They break the deal, then we take action about that" ([11:45]).
Bill O’Reilly concludes the episode by reiterating his commitment to delivering unvarnished facts and encouraging listeners to engage with his content online. He invites further interaction through his website, billorilly.com, and acknowledges the importance of community feedback in shaping his analyses.
Notable Quotes:
