Here you are listening to the O'Reilly update. Coming up next, the News with Mike Slater.

Thank you, bill. It's Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Aid paused, tariffs started, Bill fails and a husband passes. It's all coming up. And Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. First, the fallout continues from Zielinski's meeting in the Oval Office. A immediately after Zelensky was kicked out of the Oval Office, the State department terminated a U.S. agency for International Development, a USAID initiative to rebuild Ukraine's energy grid. Well, now Trump has paused all military aid to Ukraine. One official said the president has been clear that he's focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution. Zelinsky said a deal to end the war between Ukraine and Russia is, quote, still very, very far away. Trump wrote on Truth Social this is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer. President Trump also said yesterday he decided to move forward with 25% tariffs on nearly all goods imported from Mexico and Canada. The tariffs went into effect at 1201 this morning. A reporter yesterday asked if there's any room left for Canada or Mexico to arrive at some other deal before the deadline. Trump said no room. The tariffs are all set. They go into effect tomorrow, which was this morning. He said it's a very powerful weapon that politicians haven't used because they were either dishonest, stupid or paid off in some other form. And now we're using them. This is at a White House event announcing a $100 billion investment by a Taiwanese semiconductor company. The Protection of Women and Girls in Sports act would have banned boys and men from competing in girls and women's sports. It said that if any school allows this to go on, they will lose all their federal funding. It also says that a person's sex shall be recognized based on their reproductive biology and genetics at birth. It needed 60 votes in the Senate to pass. It already passed the House. It needed 60 votes to pass the Senate. So seven Democrats needed to join the 53 Republicans. Every single Democrat voted against it. A united front from the Democrats and continuing men to compete in women's sports. Insane. Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Dean, has passed away. He was 82. Dolly said, Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy. Their key to a successful marriage. She says we both have a warped sense of humor. And I think humor honestly is one of the best things when you're married like that, even if you have a problem, if you have a great sense of humor, if you say something you can't take back, you usually have some crazy way of getting out of it. They're married for almost 59 years. Mike Slater from the podcast Politics By Faith, Bill O'Reilly with your message of.

It's not my job to defend President Trump. He has vast power to do that himself and two news networks consistently cheer him on. Obviously, the anti Trump media outnumbers the pro Trumpers, but there's nothing I can do about that. What I can do is provide perspective. So here's some what if Joe Biden or Kamala Harris were president today? Let's run down a checklist. Do you think the Gaza hostages would have been released? How about appointing a special group to investigate wasteful government spending? You think Joe Cam would have done that? The Mexican president has sent 10,000 troops to protect the border with the USA. Would that have happened. Thousands of migrant criminals have been deported. Joe Kam, down with that. Donald Trump will most likely engineer a ceasefire in Ukraine. I know, I know. The chaos. But you wait and see. He'll get something. Would Joe Cam have done any better? I mean, they had two years, no movement at all. The NCAA now says biological men cannot compete in sports with women. Not woke. Any comment? Joe Cam, Interesting series of questions, right? President Trump may not succeed in solving all vexing problems, but at least there is an effort on his behalf under Joe Biden. We didn't get much of that. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billo reilly.com billorilly.com name in town if you wish to opine. Let's go to the mail. We got Lanny, not a good look for the White House. We have given just enough support to Ukraine over the past three years to keep them in the fight but not win. Ukraine will fall is my call. Ukraine can't win no matter how much we gave them. Unless you send U.S. troops in, there can't be Russia. Look at the map. So we've kept them. You're right, Lanny. We've kept them afloat. Donna, watching the Ukrainian president's meeting with the UK prime minister and the kudos from some of the European leaders leads me to believe they can handle the matter without the United States. No way, Donna. No way. Believe me, it's all yip, yip, yip, yip. Yep, yep, yep. They cannot support Ukraine. The EU cannot do it, will not do it. So Putin knows that. Steve Putin is an evil tyrant, should not be appeased. A bad look for our president and the country. Sometimes you got to appease the evil people to get the greater good going on, as I explained. Be very hard for me to do it, but I'm not a politician. Charles Castrell, West Lafayette, Indiana. I thought President Trump was rude and overbearing by talking over his Linsky and not listening. It's also demanded Vice President Vance in his assertion that Zelinsky did not say thank you for the aid. Okay. That's how you see it, Charles? I mean, I see it with a little more nuance than you, but you know, we respect your opinion. Robert. Are politicians who are against Trump's plans to decrease the national debt proposing an alternative plan? Of course not. I mean, if you press them, they go cut the military or something like that. You know, look, if Biden had any kind of plan to cut anything, he would have done it in four years, right? Cut anything. They buy votes. Democratic Party. It's all about buying votes in a moment. Something you might not know. Are you feeling the impact of the recent changes in the timeshare industry? My friends at Lone Star Transfer are the only company I trust to help you. For more than a decade, they have successfully helped over 20,000 owners get out of their timeshare. Within a century, it would become the third most populous place in America. Here's the story behind Florida. The area was colonized by Indian tribes way back in the 10th century B.C. wow. The region's first written record occurred in 1513, when Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon began searching for the Fountain of Youth off the coast of Florida. Leon called the subtropical peninsula Florida, meaning flowers in Spanish. Taming the swamp was hard. The ecosystem is the rarest environment on the planet. It's home to 360 species of birds, 75 different reptiles, 50 types of mammals. There are more than two dozen species of animals in Florida that can kill you, including alligators, saltwater crocodiles, venomous snakes, panthers, bears. The territory changed hands between various European powers. It was first ruled by Madrid, then Paris, London. Eventually, the Americans got it. On March 3, 1845, Florida was admitted to the Union as the 27th state. Since then, it has become one of the most important areas in America. It is the nation's top tourist destination, houses vital parts of the nation's Space program, generates $1.6 trillion in revenue. If Florida were its own country, it would be the 16th largest economy in the world. And here's something else you might not know. It's really, really hot in Florida from May 15 to October 15. And if you don't have air conditioning, I don't know how you survive. And it wasn't until the mid-1930s that air conditioning really came upon the scene. And then Florida blew up. But it was Disney world in the 1970s that really catapulted the state into an economic juggernaut. And right now, you can earn a lot of money in Florida. And there is no state income tax. Back in a moment. President Trump's victory is a win for America. That's what most voters think. But Bidenomics has left us with a failing economy. Hey, I'm Mike Slater. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith. We have a very simple mission. We take the news of the day and we filter it through a biblical worldview. So here's the big story of the day. What does the Bible say about it and how can we apply it? It's amazing. There's nothing new under the sun. The Bible has something to say about everything that's going on today. So basically, we thumped the Bible over on Politics by Faith. I think we ought to keep MAGA going. And I think the way to take it beyond just a political victory into a true rebuilding and awakening and revival in America is to make sure that this is all grounded in biblical principles. And that's what we do on the podcast Politics by Faith. And you can subscribe to Politics by Faith wherever you're listening to the show right now.
Summary of "The O'Reilly Update, March 4, 2025"
Bill O’Reilly’s No Spin News and Analysis – Episode Released on March 4, 2025
The episode begins with a brief introduction by Bill O'Reilly, setting the stage for the day's discussions. He transitions smoothly into the main content, bypassing advertisements and non-essential segments to focus on delivering substantive news and analysis.
In this comprehensive news segment, Mike Slater covers several pivotal events impacting America and the international landscape.
Termination of USAID Initiative: Following President Zelensky's meeting in the Oval Office, the U.S. State Department terminated a USAID project aimed at rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure. This decision marks a significant shift in U.S. involvement in Ukraine amidst ongoing conflict.
Pause on Military Aid: President Donald Trump announced a halt on all military aid to Ukraine, emphasizing a strategic pivot towards peace. An official stated, "The president has been clear that he's focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution." (02:10)
Critical Statement on Zelensky: Trump criticized Zelensky's recent statements, calling them "the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer." (02:10) This stance reflects the administration's growing impatience with the protracted conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
25% Tariffs Enacted: President Trump declared a 25% tariff on nearly all goods imported from Mexico and Canada, effective at 12:01 AM on March 4, 2025. Standing firm at a White House event, Trump asserted, "This is a very powerful weapon that politicians haven't used because they were either dishonest, stupid or paid off in some other form. And now we're using them." (03:00)
No Room for Negotiation: When questioned about potential negotiations before the tariff deadline, Trump responded definitively, "No room. The tariffs are all set. They go into effect tomorrow, which was this morning." (03:26) This move underscores a hardline approach to trade relations with neighboring countries.
Legislative Developments: The House passed the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, which prohibits males from competing in female sports and threats federal funding to schools that violate this provision. Despite passing the House, the bill failed to secure the necessary 60 votes in the Senate, with all Democrats voting against it.
Political Commentary: Mike Slater remarked on the unity among Democrats in opposing the bill, labeling it as an "insane" measure aimed at maintaining what he describes as a "united front from the Democrats and continuing men to compete in women's sports."
In his signature no-spin style, Bill O'Reilly offers a critical analysis of President Trump's policies compared to a hypothetical Biden or Harris administration. He challenges listeners to consider how different leadership might have handled current issues.
O'Reilly begins by distancing himself from defending President Trump, acknowledging the media's bias. He states, "It's not my job to defend President Trump. He has vast power to do that himself and two news networks consistently cheer him on." (04:00) He notes the disparity between anti-Trump media narratives and the support Trump receives from certain media outlets.
O'Reilly presents a checklist of questions to evaluate how President Trump might handle various issues compared to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris:
Release of Gaza Hostages: "Do you think the Gaza hostages would have been released?" (04:15) O'Reilly suggests Trump would leverage his authority more effectively to secure their release.
Investigating Government Waste: "How about appointing a special group to investigate wasteful government spending?" (04:30) He implies that Biden and Harris would lack the decisiveness needed for such actions.
Protection of the U.S. Border: "The Mexican president has sent 10,000 troops to protect the border with the USA. Would that have happened?" (04:45) O'Reilly favors Trump's tougher stance on immigration and border security.
Deportation of Migrant Criminals: "Thousands of migrant criminals have been deported. Joe Kam, down with that." (05:00) He credits Trump with effective immigration enforcement policies.
Ceasefire in Ukraine: "Donald Trump will most likely engineer a ceasefire in Ukraine." (05:15) Despite acknowledging the chaos, O'Reilly is optimistic about Trump's ability to broker peace.
NCAA's Policy on Transgender Athletes: "The NCAA now says biological men cannot compete in sports with women. Not woke. Any comment?" (05:30) He supports the policy as a rejection of "woke" ideology, contrasting it with what he perceives as Biden's inaction.
O'Reilly concludes by reaffirming his support for Trump’s efforts, albeit acknowledging they may not resolve all issues. He emphasizes the importance of Trump’s initiatives and criticizes Biden/Harris for their perceived lack of effectiveness.
Quote: "President Trump may not succeed in solving all vexing problems, but at least there is an effort on his behalf under Joe Biden. We didn't get much of that." (06:00)
Bill O'Reilly engages with his audience by presenting listener opinions and feedback on current political matters.
Lanny's Perspective: A listener named Lanny argues that U.S. support has been insufficient to ensure Ukraine's victory. He asserts, "We've given just enough support to Ukraine over the past three years to keep them in the fight but not win. Ukraine will fall is my call. Ukraine can't win no matter how much we gave them. Unless you send U.S. troops in, there can't be Russia." (10:30)
Donna's Insight: Another listener, Donna, believes that European Union contributions are inadequate without U.S. involvement. She states, "They cannot support Ukraine. The EU cannot do it, will not do it. So Putin knows that." (11:00) Donna emphasizes that U.S. support is crucial in countering Russian aggression.
Charles Castrell's Observation: Charles from West Lafayette, Indiana, offers a contrarian view, criticizing Trump for being "rude and overbearing by talking over his listeners and not listening." He also contests Vice President Vance’s statements regarding Zelensky's gratitude for aid.
Robert's Inquiry on Debt Reduction: Robert questions whether politicians opposing Trump's plans to decrease the national debt have viable alternatives. Bill responds skeptically, suggesting that such politicians lack practical solutions and are more interested in vote-buying.
Quote: "The Democratic Party. It's all about buying votes in the moment." (12:00)
In a fascinating departure from current events, the podcast delves into the rich history of Florida, highlighting its transformation into a key state in the Union.
Indigenous Tribes: Florida was originally inhabited by various Native American tribes dating back to the 10th century B.C.
European Exploration: The first written record of Florida dates to 1513 when Spanish explorer Ponce de Leon searched for the Fountain of Youth and named the region "Florida," meaning flowers in Spanish.
Territorial Changes: Florida's governance shifted among European powers—initially controlled by Madrid, then Paris, and London—before becoming part of the United States.
Statehood and Growth: Admitted to the Union on March 3, 1845, Florida has since evolved into a vital economic hub. It is the nation's top tourist destination, hosts critical components of the Space program, and generates $1.6 trillion in revenue. Notably, Florida has no state income tax, enhancing its attractiveness as a business and residential hub.
Cultural Milestones: The establishment of Disney World in the 1970s significantly propelled Florida into an economic powerhouse, cementing its status as a premier tourist and entertainment destination.
Quote: "But it was Disney World in the 1970s that really catapulted the state into an economic juggernaut." (15:30)
The episode concludes with Bill O'Reilly reiterating his commitment to providing honest analysis without spin. He encourages listeners to visit his website, billoReilly.com, for more insights and to stay informed. The closing segments include brief advertisements, maintaining the episode's focus on delivering substantive content throughout.
Promotional Content: Throughout the episode, there are strategic advertisements and promotions, including offers from Fast Growing Trees and American Hartford Gold, providing listeners with exclusive discounts and deals.
Podcast Plug by Mike Slater: Mike Slater briefly promotes his own podcast, Politics by Faith, highlighting its mission to interpret daily news through a biblical worldview.
President Trump on Zelensky: "This is the worst statement that could have been made by Zelensky, and America will not put up with it for much longer." (02:10)
Trump on Tariffs as a Weapon: "This is a very powerful weapon that politicians haven't used because they were either dishonest, stupid or paid off in some other form. And now we're using them." (03:00)
Dolly Parton on Her Marriage: "Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can't do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years." (03:10)
O'Reilly on Media Bias: "It's not my job to defend President Trump. He has vast power to do that himself and two news networks consistently cheer him on." (04:00)
Listener Lanny on Ukraine: "Ukraine can't win no matter how much we gave them. Unless you send U.S. troops in, there can't be Russia." (10:30)
O'Reilly on Vote-Buying: "The Democratic Party. It's all about buying votes in the moment." (12:00)
