Thank you, Bill. It is Monday, May 12, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. Prescription drug prices, ceasefire with India and Pakistan and a lasting peace with Ukraine and Russia and close to a deal with China. It's all coming up. Then Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, yesterday Trump said my next Truth post on Truth Social will be one of the most important and impactful I've ever issued. Enjoy. And then a couple hours later, he said, for many years, the world has wondered why prescription drug and pharmaceuticals in the United States of America was were so much higher in price than they were in any other nation, sometimes being five to 10 times more expensive than the same drug manufactured in the exact same laboratory or plant by the same company. He said for years, these companies blamed research and development costs. He said America will no longer be the suckers here. He said campaign contributions can do wonders, but not with me and not with the Republican Party. The president signed an executive order that will reduce prescription drug prices by 30 to 80% almost immediately. With a most favored nation's policy where the United States will pay the same price as the nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the world. He said our country will finally be treated fairly and our citizens health care costs will be reduced by numbers never even thought of before. Trump wrote on Truth Social that a full and immediate ceasefire between India and Pakistan has been reached. He later said, I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom and fortitude to fully know and understand that it's time to stop the current aggression. Millions of good and innocent people could have died. Your legacy is greatly enhanced by brave actions. He ended with. God bless the leadership of India and Pakistan on a job well done. Over to another war, Ukraine and Russia. Trump says he predicts a very big week with Russia and Ukraine. He wrote on Truth Social. Think of the hundreds of thousands of lives that will be saved as this never ending bloodbath hopefully comes to an end. It will be a whole new and much better world, putin said in a statement. Russia's ready for negotiations without any preconditions. And Zelenskyy responded to the world saying that that's a positive sign. Zelenskyy wrote, there's no point in continuing the killings even for a day. We expect Russia to conform to a ceasefire, complete, lasting and reliable starting tomorrow. That's today. And Ukraine is ready to meet. Scott Besant had two days of talks in Switzerland with China on a new trade deal. First, he spent some time with Switzerland and then with Chinese officials. He said, I'm happy to report that we made substantial progress between the United States and China in very important trade talks. Our trade rep was a bit firmer, actually said it's important to understand how quickly we were able to come to an agreement which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day. Next.

Sometimes protectionism tariffs can be a good thing. And now with President Trump opposing tariffs on movies made outside the usa, we might expand our vision as to who and what should be tariffed in the culture zone. So here is a list submitted for your approval. Prince Harry definitely want to tariff Harry. The Beckham family pretty much had enough? Abba. All right. Waterloo. How many times do you have to listen to it? ROSIE o' DONNELL should she try to come back to the usa? She's in Ireland now. Bratwurst? Do we really need that? How about a 200% tariff on it? Steak and kidney pie. Oh, herring. Ah, tapas. I don't even know what tapas is. Sumo wrestlers. Don't need them in America. Anyone from Wuhan, Pandas, koalas, goat curry. No lederhosen. If you're a guy and you're wearing lederhosen, you need to reassess anything pertaining to Godzilla. Japan, big tariff on Dracula, the Mummy, the Wolfman, the Loch Ness Monster. We do not need them in the usa. Finally, huge tariffs on the hooties, but the blowfish are okay. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me, bill@billoriley.com billorilly.com, name in town if you wish to opine. Now, let's go to the mail. Tanya, not a fan of Shia Putin, but there's plenty to do in Russia for four days. It's a beautiful country. You can easily spend four days in Moscow or St. Petersburg. Haven't been to Moscow. Been to St. Petersburg two days. That's it. Big museum there. Nothing else pretty. But four days? No, Moscow is probably two days, too. And she's not running around in a Jeep. Drive it all over Russia. Bill Craig of Ridgeville, Washington, been watching for more than 15 years. He recently said that gas prices are going down and they are big time. But in Vancouver, Washington, right across the river from Portland, we have $3.76 gallon. Okay, I looked into this. It's because of the refineries. So Washington state, very liberal, as you know, has slapped so many regulations on our refineries. It's driving your prices up. Just like California. Same thing. Russ Ministry is a cyber awareness specialist. In North Carolina, I watched a Smart Life segment about online safety. Want to thank you. Part about the text message scams really hit home. These are becoming very common. What I said was if you get a text and you don't know who this text is from saying, hey, hey, you owe money, or hey, we got money for you, or you better do this, erase it. You open it, they're in. They can create havoc. So thank you for reminding us, Ross. Freda salkin, Woodland Hills, California. Many months ago, you mentioned O'Reilly, a solution to the debt problem. It was the government selling the oil on federal land, putting all the profit into paying down the debt. I still believe that should happen. I hope President Trump will use a large portion of what we get from ANWR and other federal drilling sites to pay down a debt In a moment, something you might not know. Let's face it, the US economy is under stress, national debt rising, trade war shaking the markets and meanwhile China is dumping the dollar and stockpiling gold. That's why I protected my savings with physical gold and silver through the only dealer I trust, American Hartford Gold. And you can do this. Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. 58 years ago today, an American musician released his first solo album in the United Kingdom. Songs would redefine the rock genre forever change pop culture. The record R U Experienced the artist Jimi Hendrix. Here is the story. Born 1942 in Seattle, Johnny Allen Hendricks began playing guitar at the age of 15, dropped out of high school, relocated to Nashville where he performed alongside the Isley Brothers, Little Richard and Curtis Knight. Young Jimmy then moved to England in 1966, formed a trio with British bassist Noel Redding and drummer Mitch Mitchell. The group is called the Jimi Hendrix Experience. They released their debut album, R U Experienced on May 12, 1967. The record featured three top 10 hits including hey Joe, the Wind Cries Mary and Purple Haze. Excuse me while I kiss this Guy back in America. The album was released in August, reaching number five on the Billboard chart. Henrik's psychedelic style had an immediate impact on the so called counterculture. Sadly, Jimi Hendrix did not last long. Three years after the release of his debut album, the guitarist is found dead at a hotel in London. The Corona concluded he died from asphyxia while intoxicated with narcotics. He was 27 years old. And here's something else you might not know. Ru Experience remains one of the most popular albums of all time. The record has sold 5 million copies in the USA, 10 million worldwide. Today. An original version of the English release resides at the Library of Congress for its, quote, contribution to American culture. I remember getting that album and playing it in College. Jimi Hendrix, rip back after this. Thank you for listening to the O'Reilly Update. I am Bill O'Reilly. No spin, just facts. And always looking out for you.
