Thank you, Bill. It is Friday, May 22, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. The Senate heads home, pandemic fraudster heads to jail, grocery store regulation gone and a NASCAR legend passes away. It's all coming up. Then. Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, the Senate is heading home until June without finishing anything, including a reconciliation. Bill Thune, the head of the Senate, was asked if Senate Republicans are responding. Going home because of Trump's endorsement of Ken Paxton. Thune said it's hard to divorce anything that happens here from what's happening in the political atmosphere around us. You can't disconnect those things. What a bunch of babies. This is again after Trump endorsed ken Paxton for U.S. senate in Texas over the incumbent Cornyn, who was told if you don't pass the SAVE act, we're going to primary you. And they didn't pass the SAVE Act. The woman behind the massive Minnesota pandemic fraud scandal was sentenced to 41 and a half years in prison. That's the longest sentence of the 60 people who have been found guilty so far in connection with the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme. $250 million in pandemic federal funds meant to pay for meals for for children. This woman was sentenced to pay $243 million back to the federal government. I don't think she has that money anymore. She is one of nearly 80 people charged in connection with the fraud. Again, more than 60 people have been convicted or pleaded guilty. The Department of Justice said employees were bribed and received kickbacks for joining in the scheme. They were paid as consulting fees. The Trump administration is loosening a federal rule that requires grocery stores and air conditioning companies to reduce greenhouse gases used in cooling equipment. The head of the epa, Lee Zeldin, said this Biden era rule, so it's a new regulation, imposes costly restrictions that limit the type of refrigerants that U.S. businesses and families can use. This new rule will allow businesses to choose the refrigeration systems that work best for them, saving them billions of dollars. This will be felt by American families and lower grocery prices. One of the all time great NASCAR drivers, Kyle Busch, has died, two time NASCAR Cup Series champion. Earlier in the day yesterday, his family made a statement that he was hospitalized and was undergoing treatment for a severe illness and that he wouldn't be competing this weekend in Charlotte. Later in the day yesterday, the family made a statement that he died. He survived by his wife and two kids, 9 and 4. Denny Hamlin, his former teammate, said, I absolutely cannot comprehend the news. We just need to think of his family during this time. We love you, kb. Kyle Bush literally last week after he won a race, said, you never know when your last one is. Bush was 41. I'm Mike Slater. From Politics by Faith, Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.

Time now for the O'Reilly update. Message of the Day on this Friday. If you have any friends or acquaintances that like communism, all you need to do is point to Cuba. It is an impoverished nation. 90% of the people there cannot really make a living. Government has to hand out ration cards for food, energy, things like that. And this has been going on since 1959. No progress in Cuba, a communist country. So why would anyone want to impose communism anywhere, including America? But we have a growing socialist and communist movement here. It is based on an enormous government giving people who don't have very much free stuff. You've heard it before. That has an attraction for people who do not want to compete in a capitalistic society where you have to earn your way, you have to go to work, perform well and sometimes do better than your neighbor. You are not sharing the land as the 1960s philosophy once espoused. Cuba is a disaster. So is Communism. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billoriley.com, billoriley.com, name in town. If you wish to opine now, let's go to the mail message board. Wayne, concierge member will help Wayne out if he gets into trouble. The people who do not care about what happens in Iran are fools. Literally impacts the entire world. Everyone should want that government gone. What I say, Wayne, why wouldn't you want them gone? Why wouldn't you help us? Makes no sense. Gregory. My patience with President Trump and Iran is starting to run its course. I just ended up paying $50 for a full tank of gas and a four cylinder engine. I did not pay $50 for gas under Biden. Now would I rather have Biden than Trump? Absolutely not. But this conflict cannot continue another month. I think that's fair. I don't think the conflict can continue much longer. Certainly not another month. Michael. Bill, regarding the price gouging for sports in general and the World cup in particular. It's capitalism. They only charge what people will pay for. Okay, big gouging. But people will pay it. I got it. All right. Now we have kept the port price of our stuff down and we have not woke gear. Great. Not woke gear. Including mugs and everything else. Mats for the summer. Mine is already out and you might check that out. And they are send a message. Not woke. I'm not woke. And I'm proud. I'm not woke. Proud of it. And then we have the source of pride for me this summer. USA 250 hats. Now, the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. On this day in the year 334 B.C. alexander the Great and his army defeated the mighty Persian forces. His victory laid the foundation for the largest empire of the ancient world. Here is the story. Alexander was born to the king and queen of Macedonia, now part of modern day Serbia. He assumed control at the age of 20 when his father was assassinated by a royal bodyguard. After eliminating his enemies and squashing local rebellions, Alexander began his global conquest. He formed the greatest army in history and marched east into Asia, claiming territories such as Persia, India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In 12 years of conquest, Alexander never lost a single battle. He then captured the ancient city of Babylon, located in present day Iraq. Multiple prophets warned the king that entering the capital would bring about his demise, and it did. He attended a dinner given by a friend to celebrate his arrival. Alexander enjoyed 48 hours of every drinking and carousing. He fell ill, complaining of abdominal pain. His health deteriorated. Too weak to leave his room, the world conqueror died 10 days later. His body was immersed in honey to prevent decay. The exact cause of Alexander's death remains unknown. Historians believe he could have perished from poison, malaria or liver failure. He was just 32 years old. And here's something else you might not know. If you plan on taking a trip to Europe, the Middle east or Asia, you will likely visit a town called Alexandria. That's because Alexander named more than 200 cities after himself throughout his 15 year conquest. Nearly all remain standing to this day. Back in a moment.
