Thank you, Bill. It is Tuesday, though it feels like a Monday. It's Tuesday, May 27, 2025. You're listening to the O'Reilly Update. Here's what's happening today in America. Donald Trump says Putin has gone crazy. Texas to require the Ten Commandments in public schools. Young Americans prefer pets to children. And a record number of families plan to travel this summer. That's all coming up in my message of the day about deporting illegal aliens to Rwanda. But first, Donald Trump told reporters over the weekend that Vladimir Putin has gone crazy following his latest barrage against Ukraine. The aerial attack from Russia killed at least 12 people, including children at a daycare facility, according to Ukrainian officials. Trump said, quote, I don't know what happened to Putin. I've known him a long time. But now he's sending rockets into cities and killing people. The Kremlin released a statement after the president's remarks saying Donald Trump was experiencing a, quote, emotional overload. Come this September, every public classroom in Texas could be required to display the Ten Commandments. Every classroom, not just the school itself. The bill passed the state House on Saturday and now heads to the Lone Star Senate. Similar legislation recently passed in Louisiana, but that law is being challenged in federal court. If approved by the Senate, the bill then heads to the desk of Governor Greg Abbott, who has signaled his support for the law. A survey from Consumer affairs finds 50% of young folks would rather have pets than children. It does not bode well for our future. Two thirds refuse to take part in daily activities without their animals. Millennials spend more on the family pet than on any other generation. On average, young owners burn $500 a month on cats and dogs at six grand a year on toys and treats. Memorial Day Travel is up 25% compared to last year. A survey from AAA finds a record number of Americans will hit the road this summer. The Trump administration did brag the other day that gas prices this Memorial Day weekend were the cheapest since 2021. And if you adjust for inflation and rising wages that Americans are actually going to spend the least amount filling up this Memorial day than since 2003, excluding the outlier that was Covid. The top road trips for 2025 Key West, Florida, the Grand Canyon, Orchard Beach, Maine, Montauk, Long island and the number one destination this summer where the Slater family plans to spend a day or two, Yosemite National Park. The O'Reilly update message of the day Coming up next, about the carrot and the stick to illegal aliens to get them to self deport. And then something you might not know about the person organizing our 250th anniversary. It's all coming up next.

I'm Mike Slater filling for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for the O'Reilly Update message of the day. Stephen Miller said, is this Judge Ma, is this a lunatic? What's going on here? Let's back it up a bit. We have no idea how many illegal aliens are in America. 20 million, 30 million. But the only way any significant number is going to leave is if they self deport. There's only 7,000 ICE agents who are dedicated to enforcement and removal. They can't deport one by one 20 million people. So Trump's team said, all right, let's give people a carrot. We'll pay for your tickets home. We'll give you $1,000 when you make it back to your home country and you get to the back of the line and you come back legally. Maybe if we deport you forcefully, you'll never come back. It's a bit of a carrot to go, a little encouragement. Well, not enough are going to take that because if you're illegally, you're just going to think, well, I don't know. Just, you know, what have I got to lose to just stay? If I get caught, I'll just be sent back anyway, so might as well see how long I can get away with it staying here illegally. Carrots not gonna be enough. Which is why you also need a stick. And the stick to get illegal immigrants to self deport is Rwanda. And now throw in their South Sudan. The Trump team sent eight illegal alien criminals, just the worst of the worst, total monsters, murderers to South Sudan. And a judge said, you can't do that. And Trump's team did it anyway. Why did Donald Trump's team do this? The New York Times. The administration's ultimate goal, experts say, may be to shape the behavior of other immigrants through fear. Ooh, they're starting to get it. Deportation to war torn countries, said a professor at Yale Law School, is a concerted strategy intended to both disincentivize people from coming to the United States and to incentivize self deportation. Took a Yale Law School professor to analyze the number one reason why 77 million people voted for Donald Trump, but at least they're catching up. So option one for the illegal alien, go home on your own. We'll pay for it and you get $1,000 from the US taxpayer. Option two, try and evade. But if you get caught, you're going to Rwanda. Tell you, the threat of option B makes that thousand dollars look a lot sweeter. Meanwhile, it's worth taking a minute to talk about what has been and what could still be if we weren't taking these actions. In Washington State, a 27 year old trooper doing everything right in life was on the shoulder of the highway at 3am When a illegal alien driving a car swerved and hit the car at 107 miles per hour. He admitted to smoking marijuana before he drove, also drinking alcohol. He's been here illegally for over a decade. He's also had previous convictions for driving with a suspended license, multiple speeding tickets, one for going 49 mph over the speed limit. None of us would be allowed to drive ever again after that. And multiple domestic violence protection orders. These are the people that the left have been protecting giving sanctuary to in your neighborhood over a decade. His lawyer first claimed that ICE conspired with Washington law enforcement against their sanctuary city policy. So they wanted the case dismissed. Fortunately, the judge said no to that. But now the lawyer's argument is not all car accidents are crimes. True, true. But we can sit here and find a number of crimes that were committed in this particular accident. But I bring up this guy here because he shouldn't have been here. So how do we get people like him to leave? Well, if you don't go home, your new home might be Rwanda. Mike Seider filling it for Bill O'Reilly. Something you might not know next.

Hey, I'm Mike Slater filling for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for something you might not know. I want a bit of a crusade, if you'll join me. It is our nation's 250th anniversary coming up, an incredible opportunity for people to reconnect to this nation and our history. This could launch a revival and a renaissance that we desperately need, a counter to the 1619 Project that's been injected into so many young people's minds over these last few years. What an opportunity this is. So who do we put in charge of this 250th anniversary celebration? The chair of this anniversary, Rosie Rios. Rosie Rios was the treasurer under Obama from 2008 to 2016. Her signature is on all the money from those years, Rosa Gumateo Teo Rios, also. I don't think she likes America. I know she loves Mexico. She gave a speech in Mexico, many speeches. One of them, she said, I tell my children, based on growth projections, we are the future in the United states. Mexicans represent 65% of Latinos. And as Mexicans, there's a huge responsibility for our political climate, economic climate, social climate and culture and how it's going to look not just here in Mexico, but also in the United States. And if we're deliberate enough and strategic enough and organized enough, there's nothing that we again, speaking in Mexico, there's nothing that we can't accomplish. She said, I am as much Mexican as I am American. In another speech in Mexico, she said, we're the same blood. California, where I was born and raised, was Mexico. People tend to forget that, that we're the same land. And that was Mexico. In Mexico, she spoke of my people, Mexicans, and said, my people have a pride and effort and instinct to survive that no one else has in the world? No one has more passion than the Mexican people. Is there some anniversary in Mexico that's coming up that she can be the chair of? She also said in Mexico it's a shame there's no leaders in the US that can defend the Mexicans. She said, I think I'm going to return to Mexico. Much more here I feel at home. She can think and say whatever she wants, but is there anyone else maybe more qualified to lead the 250th anniversary of America than Rosie Rios? Is there anyone who loves this country over any other country? Maybe that person should be in charge of our birthday party. Like I didn't know we had to ask that question. But hey, do you consider any other country your home and any other people better than Americans? And do you associate with the blood of your people more than America? This is the chair of our 250th anniversary. I don't think it's too late to fire her and put in an American. More coming up. My name is Mike Slater. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith. I was just talking to a friend of mine who said he hasn't been able to follow the news lately. It's been too much. It's too crazy. It's driving him crazy, and he's just checked out. If you feel that way sometimes, too, I think you'll really like our podcast, Politics by Faith. We take the main story of the day and we run it through the Bible. What does the Bible say about this? It's amazing, but it's all there. And then God tells us what to do. We don't even have to figure it out. The answers are right there. He gives us the answers. Politics by Faith. Please join us over there. You can listen to it wherever you're listening to this podcast right now. Politics by Faith. Faith. Thank you, Bill, for letting me fill in today and thank you for listening. I have a podcast called Politics by Faith. You can join us over there wherever you listen to podcasts. And we'll be back here tomorrow.
