Thank you, Bill. It is Thursday, May 28, 2026. Here's what's happening today in America. Donald Trump says America will not rush any peace deals. A new survey finds life is no longer fun for many citizens. A report ranks the healthiest cities in the country. And Americans censor themselves more than ever before. Also coming up, my message of the day about the billionaires fighting back against the communists. That's coming up. First, President Trump convening his cabinet at Camp David this week. The commander in chief telling reporters that America will not rush into any peace agreement with Iran for political purposes. An early draft of the proposal would lift the US Blockade of Iranian ports in return for the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Gas prices in the US are up 50% since the conflict began in late February. The highest gas costs can be found in California, $6 a gallon. But we will talk about that little context. Another example of billionaires fighting back against $6 gas. We'll explain in a minute. A national poll from study finds reveals 48% of Americans say their lives are lacking fun. Respondents cite the cost of living as a major barrier to happiness. 72% say financial stress causes daily anxiety, lack of sleep and General Depression. Since 2019, prices for daily necessities like food, gas and car payments are up 30% across America. A survey from Wallet Hub revealing America's healthiest towns. The cities are ranked by exercise, rates of obesity, percentage of smokers, drug addiction and life expectancy. The fittest place in America for the Sixth year in a row. Salt Lake City, Utah, followed by San Diego, Miami beach and Denver, Colorado. The unhealthiest towns in America, Brownsville, Texas, than Mobile, Alabama and Jackson, Mississippi. A study released by Axios finds that Americans are still, and not just still, increasingly censoring themselves. The survey highlights a huge gap between a person's public and private opinions. 40% are afraid to voice their true beliefs. Researchers say folks fear being canceled for unpopular opinions. A quarter of the population believes they can be fired for saying the wrong thing. 10% of people report losing friends or family members over politics. And to be clear, almost all of that is because of the person with the tds. Coming up, my message of the day about the billionaires fighting back against the AOC Communists of our country. And then something you might not know. We can no longer allow the left to get away with this excuse for not only theft, but but even for murder. I'm Mike Slater. More coming up next.

Hey, I'm Mike Slater filling in for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for the O'Reilly update. Message of the day. AOC versus the billionaires. And the billionaires are finally fighting back. AOC the other day said the American Revolution was against the billionaires of their time. That's not true. Many of our founders were the richest men in the colonies and many of them gave up their entire fortunes and died with nothing because of the war. But they pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor. Senator Mike Lee said it was against a large, distant, overly intrusive government that recognized no limits over its own authority to tax, regulate and eat out the substance of its citizens it claimed to serve, which is what the Democrats specialize in today. But what AOC said there was a part of a larger point she was making. She said, you can't earn a billion dollars. You can get market power, you can break rules, you can abuse labor laws, you can pay people less than they're worth, but you can't earn that. So you have to create a myth. You have to create a myth of earning it. Now, AOC and communist like her have been saying stuff like this for a long time, but I appreciate finally the billionaires stepping up and defending themselves. Like when the mayor of New York City, Mamdani, called out, specifically Ken Griffin. Remember he made that video not too long ago about taxing people's second homes. And he specifically called out Ken Griffin, one particular guy who was standing outside Ken Griffin's apartment building and said, this guy contributes nothing to New York City. Meanwhile, he's in the process of building a $6 billion skyscraper in New York City. But Ken Griffin came out and said, all right, fine, we're gonna move our company to Miami. When the mayor of Seattle was asked about Starbucks and other companies leaving her city, she was up on stage and said, bye. Well, now Starbucks is expanding their headquarters in Nashville and Howard Schultz himself, the founder of Starbucks, has moved to Florida. Now she's changing her tune slightly. Billionaires are fighting back. Chevron has these signs up at their stations in California. I didn't think these were real when I first saw them. Thought it was some sort of conservative ad campaign or something like that, but it's actually Chevron. And these signs at the gas station say California has the highest gas taxes and fees in America. One sign says nearly 25% of your gas money goes to state taxes and fees. Another sign says, Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more as a car wrapped. It's like being strangled by a gas hose. I love that Chevron fighting back against politicians. Robert Reich, who was the Secretary of labor in the 90s under Clinton, he worked for Obama, taught at Harvard for a long time. He said there are basically five ways to accumulate a billion dollars. One, profiting from a monopoly. Two, insider trading. Three, political payoffs. Four, fraud. Five, inheritance. Don't believe the self made myth. There it is again. Same talking point that AOC had that making money is a myth. Well, Michael Dell, founder of Dell Computers, said Robert Reich forgot the sixth and most important way build something that millions of people actually want. The communists are getting bolder and so are the billionaires. And I like it. Now to be clear, the billionaires are not paragons of morality, but they do some things that should be valued, like take oil out of the ground and turn it into gasoline to make our cars go. I don't know how to do that. Chevron does. So at least they provide some service to me. The communists provide nothing. Billionaires are not saints. They're not people we should worship. AOC hates the billionaires because she wants you to depend on her and the government. And the billionaires hate the government because they want you to depend on them. The real focus should be on God because we're actually depending on him. Mike Slater filling in for Bill O'Reilly something you might not know next.

Mike Slater filling in for Bill O'Reilly. Now it's time for something you might not know. Poverty doesn't equal crime. The left makes this excuse all the time. It's not true. They'll say, oh well, he was poor so therefore of course he stole something or even he's poor so of course he killed someone. Don't fall for that. There was a 21 year old in England who went to a local park to test his new camera and he got stabbed to death by a migrant. Oluwuwadamilola Ogunya Kinu is the murderer and his dad said that he did not want his son to be a part of any racist analysis of illegal immigration. He said the hate should not be directed at minorities, it should be at the government. They're the ones to blame, not immigrants, not black kids. My son was proud to be a Londoner, proud of this multicultural, wonderful place we are. And it doesn't matter where his he talking about his son, where his son's killer comes from. It's nothing to do with that. It's a class thing and that's been created by the government. The dad of the murdered young man went on to say that we got to look at our teenagers who can't get houses and can't get work. Excusing his son's murderer. I'm rereading the book that made me fall in love with reading. It's called Boys on the Boat. I finally broke down and watched the movie on the plane and it was offensive how bad this movie was compared to the book. So I had to reread the book and it's as wonderful as I thought. The main character of the book, Joe Rance, 1920s Washington. His stepmother hated him when he was a little boy. And they would move to different places because she was always so miserable. They were dirt poor in the Pacific Northwest and they moved to a farm and she still hated it. And then the Depression hit and so many people left town that they left their dogs behind and the dogs started attacking their cows and the cows stopped making milk. And while the animals started killing their chickens, they didn't have eggs anymore and everything was falling apart. And one day Joe Rantz came home from school and the car was backed out of the driveway with his three stepbrothers and stepmom and dad in the car all packed up. And dad told him that they're moving to California, but he's not. He was staying. Dad said sooner or later you're gonna have to learn to make it alone in this world. Joe was 15. I bring this up because Joe did not become a gang member. He worked hard, worked his way through college, joined the crew team, went on to win an Olympic gold medal. Poverty does not have to equal knifing people to death. Stop letting the left get away with that lie. More coming up.
