Bill O'Reilly Here you are listening to the O'Reilly Update. Coming up next, the news with Mike Slater.

Thank you, Bill. It is Wednesday, November 25th, Thanksgiving Eve. Here's what's happening today in America. Cutting ties, another cheater, interviews with the Treasonous Six and a turtle died. It's all coming up. The bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, our US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, is reportedly proposing that the military cut ties with Scouting America over its embrace of gender, ideology and dei. If you're wondering what in the world is Scouting America? That's the new name of the organization that used to be called the Boy Scouts, but then they let girls in. They let girls in, the Boy Scouts. The US Military has provided support to the Scouts for over a hundred years. That assistance was formalized in 1937, but in this memo, Exeth said the organization, once endorsed by President Theodore Roosevelt, no longer supports the future of American boys. Hexath reportedly argued, this is in a memo to the House and Senate Armed Services Committee, that the Scouts no longer uphold their mission to, quote, cultivate masculine values. Among other things, the military would no longer provide medical and logistical aid for the National Jamboree. Scouting America says that as many as 20% of cadets and midshipmen at the service academies are Eagle Scouts. The World's Strongest Woman competition was held in Arlington, Texas, and it was won by a man. Jamie Booker admitted in a 2017 video that he is a trans woman. So a man, the woman who got second place walked off the podium saying, this is bs. One of the women contestants was so upset over the man's victory that she went to her Instagram and posted an image reading protect women's sports. The FBI is attempting to schedule interviews with these six Democratic members of Congress who made a video saying that troops should not obey illegal orders. The FBI would conduct these interviews on behalf of the Justice Department. It's unclear when the interviews would be held. Maybe over the Thanksgiving holiday. Speaking specifically of Senator Slotkin of Michigan, who was a former CIA employee before she became senator. A CIA spokesperson said that she joins the ranks of disgraced former intelligence officers who use credentials to advance a malicious and disingenuous political agenda. A turtle died. It's barely news, but this was a really old one. Grandma, a Galapagos turtle from the San Diego Zoo, passed away. She arrived at the zoo in 1928. The zoo's best guess is the turtle was 141 years old. These things can grow to be six feet long. When Grandma was born, Chester A. Arthur was president. And in other animal life and death news, the president pardoned two turkeys. Trump said the turkeys who were pardoned last year under Biden was null and void because Biden used his auto pen. But don't worry, he re pardoned them. The turkeys that Trump pardoned this year, biggest ever, over 50 pounds each. I'm Mike Slater from Politics by Faith. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day.

If the Puritans had a crystal ball, they might have insisted the Mayflower turn around and head back to Mary old England, which wasn't very merry at all. In fact, it was downright chilly to anyone who didn't sing with the king. No way the fanatically religious Puritans were singing with anyone. In 1622 Massachusetts, things are kind of dark and foreboding a little like today. Lots of angst and confusion in the air, not a lot of tranquility and understanding. Half of the Mayflower passengers died within a year of disembarking. Life was very tough, food scarce, no central heating, challenges everywhere. Now we have heat, but it costs some money. So does food, amusement, insurance Our wallets are getting a workout, but it's worth it to me because we are living in a land of opportunity. That's a cliche, but it's true. And that is my theme this Thanksgiving week. Yes, things can get a bit crazy, but we will get through it. However, next year is not going to be easy either, as many things are going to happen, just like with the long ago Puritans. But we certainly have more fun than they did. And we don't have to wear those dopey hats. I'm Bill O'Reilly. I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me billorilly.com billorilly.com name in town if you wish to opine, go to the mail. Bonnie Fitzpatrick, Copper's Cove, Texas. Hey, Bill, can you weigh in on Trump's fascination with bitcoin? AI and Marjorie Taylor Greene Bitcoin I know nothing about. I stay away from it. You're crazy if you get involved with bitcoin. I guess the Trump sons are making money there, but boy, that's risky. I no clue. I know it's coming. I don't know how it's going to affect us. Marjorie Taylor Greene, as we said yesterday, disagree with Trump vehemently, and I think she's going to run for governor now that she's resigning from the House. Tanya I assume President Trump no longer plans to freeze Putin's bank accounts. Earlier in the year, you said you were going to give Trump some time to work it all out in the fall. You were going to be all over it. Is there a reason you aren't reporting on that strategy? No, I said we were going to watch the sanctions be crushed on Russia, which we have. You're a concierge member, so you can get transcripts. Putin's bank accounts aren't under Putin's name. It's not like Vlad has a little Chase card. Every crazy thing in the world. He's hiding the money so we can't go after him. But we can strangle the economy, which is what we're doing. Craig Camerata, Wanta New York Aside from the big beautiful bill, why aren't Republicans putting forth more legislation to codify President Trump's executive orders? Because if a Democrat is elected, those executive orders will Vanish. You need 60 votes in the Senate to get legislation passed. That's what the filibuster is all about. It's hard, but they should at least be putting forth some vision of health care. Kate's Law. I'm waiting. You know they need to get on it the Republicans in a moment, something you might not know. Visit xtandi.com to watch my story now. The O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. On this day in 1620, Puritans aboard the Mayflower spotted land off the coast of New England. After 65 days at sea, the settlers had finally arrived in North America. Fleeing religious persecution, the English separatists sought to build a new society based on their interpretation of the Bible, free from the jurisdiction of any European power. The group established the Plymouth Colony. Here are a few rules the Puritans had to live by, and punishment for breaking those rules was very harsh. Honoring the Sabbath was strictly enforced. Each settler attended a mandatory two hour sermon each Sunday. Most went to church again on Wednesday. Work, trade, travel, entertainment, even public laughter. Banished offenders were often sentenced to hours in the stocks, a medieval punishment device where a person's head and hands were confined between wooden planks. Sexual misconduct was forbidden. Those who had physical relations outside of marriage were often whipped and beaten with branches. Convicted females are forced to wear clothing embroidered with the letter A for adultery. Drunkards were subject to public humiliation. Once sober, they stood outside of meeting halls. A ragged stick was placed in their mouths to symbolize the abuse of alcohol. The most severe punishments were reserved for murderers and the practice of witchcraft. The accused were detained, questioned, then physically beaten. And here's something else you might not know. According to Plymouth law, the prescribed method of torture was called pressing. Prisoners who proclaimed innocence were stripped, tied to the ground had heavy stones placed on their chests. Each hour an additional weight was added. The process stopped when the accused admitted their guilt or died.
