Thank you, Bill. It is Friday, October 3, 2025. Here's what's happening today in America. No end in sight, armed conflict with cartels, Yom Kippur attack and the Nobel Peace Prize will soon be announced. That's all coming up. Then Bill's gonna be here with your message of the day. But first, no end in sight to the shutdown. Senator Thune said, I realized that my Democrat colleagues are facing pressure from members of their far left base, but they are playing a losing game here. Seems like the longer this goes on, the more people are aware that a lot of their money is going to illegal aliens for healthcare. But the Democrats seem to think they're winning this PR battle. Meanwhile, I talked to Doug Burgum, the interior secretary, yesterday. He made the point that when Barack Obama was president during a shutdown in 2013, he erected a fence around the World War II memorial. There's no fence there. It's an open air memorial. But Obama, to hurt people, put a fence around the memorial to keep them out. Doug Burgum said they're doing the opposite. They're doing everything they can to keep as much open as possible for as long as they can, moving money around so as to not hurt the American people. The president issued a memo that the US Is now engaged in a formal armed conflict with drug cartels. This notice was sent to several congressional committees. Last month, the US Military carried out three strikes against drug smuggling boats in the Caribbean. Many congressmen have been worried about the due process protections of these people. But the memo says based upon the cumulative effects of these hostile acts against the citizens and interests of the United States, the president determined that the United States is in a non international armed conflict with these designated terrorist organizations. On the first day of Yom Kippur, several people in England were hit by a car and stabbed by a knifeman. The murderer was shot dead at the scene. The police commended the synagogue for locking the building, locking the doors, quickly preventing the murderer from getting inside. He was found trying to stab his way through a window when the police arrived. Two people were killed. Three are in serious condition. The murderer is Jihad. That's his real name. Jihad Al Shami, 35 year old Syrian who's now a British citizen. The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced on October 10th in Oslo. Several world leaders have nominated Donald Trump. The leaders of Gabon, Rwanda, Cambodia, Pakistan, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan, pretty good list. But one historian who wrote a book on the Nobel Peace Prize said it's completely unthinkable that Trump will win it. He said the Nobel Peace Prize is about defending multilateral cooperation, for example, in the UN And Trump breaks with that principle. He follows his own path unilaterally. So he achieved peace, but just not the right way. I'm Mike Slater from the podcast Politics by faith. Bill O'Reilly has your message of the day next.

Time now for the O'Reilly update. Message of the Day on this Friday, President Trump believes there is a, quote, enemy within that he must deal with. That enemy is the radical left. Those who oppose the president say this is just another example of an authoritarian leader trying to destroy freedom of speech, dissenting points of view. So let's examine without emotion. The progressive left generally believes America is not a noble country and never has been. They want total change, a more socialist economy, a less punitive justice system, DEI policies, open immigration. Is that point of view dangerous? Well, I think it is, but it's allowed under the First Amendment. What is not legal is law breaking, rioting, promoting violence. President Trump is certainly within his authority to confront those things, but he should provide backup for what he is doing. During the Vietnam War, there was a violent movement in the USA on a number of fronts. The Black Panthers, the Weathermen, the Symbionese Liberation Army. The FBI was dispatched to deal with them and was largely successful. Political violence of any kind is unacceptable. Decent people know that. And the enemy within that practices violence must be defeated by constitutional means. I'm Bill O'Reilly I approve the message by writing it. You can reach me bill o'reilly.com bill@billoriley.com name in town if you wish to opine. Now, let's go to the mail. William Herring, Statesboro, Georgia. Does it specifically say in the continuing resolution Democrats are wanting to fund illegal aliens for health care? Democrats says it doesn't. Republicans say it does. I explain at top of the broadcast, it doesn't specifically say the words undocumented migrants, but it does have a whole series of people who do. Qualified and asylum seekers are one of them. Okay. On a message, Boyd Lloyd, George Soros needs to be indicted for his evil deeds, even if a conviction is hard as punishment at least should be general public's exposure to his acts. So I wrote a message of the day on Soros that I believe it's a good chance he'll be charged with rico. All right. That's what the message board is buzzing about. JW Concierge member Bill maybe you ought to invite George Soros on program. George Soros doesn't do media. It's particularly with me, Alan. How Soros was allowed to run loose for this long is a mystery. Should be held accountable by whom? Broken any law yet Maybe they'll come up with something. They're looking at him. No doubt about it. David. Concierge Remember, Bill, I agree we probably won't ever be able to stop the drug trade, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't keep trying. I agree with that. You should punish the miscreants. The evildoers who sell drugs, import drugs should be punished. We must get them into prison. And the addicts need to go into force rehab. Okay? You gotta take them off the street because they're gonna kill themselves. They're damaging other people. Quality of life in this country has drastically dropped because of drug addiction.

Now the O'Reilly update brings you something you might not know. Thirty years ago today, millions of Americans gather around television sets to watch the conclusion of what was then called the trial of the century. After 11 months of testimony, it took a jury just four hours to find O.J. simpson not guilty of murder. Here is the story Football star and actor Arthal James Simpson married Nicole Brown in 1985. According to police records, the athlete repeatedly abused his wife throughout their marriage. She filed for divorce in 1992. On the night of June 12, 1994, Nicole and her friend Ron Goleman were stabbed to death outside her home in Los Angeles after a high speed chase on live television. OJ Was taken into custody. In October, Judge Lance Ito began questioning more than 300 potential jurors to decide Simpson's fate. According to firsthand accounts, the jurors living conditions were miserable. To shield them from media coverage, police removed television sets, radios, telephones from their hotel rooms. For entertainment, the jury watched pre taped episodes of Seinfeld. All the commercials were deleted. On October 3, 1995, the jury found Simpson not guilty of murder. And here's something else you might not know. Thirty years after the acquittal, some of the main players are still around. Prosecutor Marcia Clark, now a successful novelist. Her partner Chris Darden still practices law in la. Lawyer Alan Dershowitz remains a high profile attorney and is an outspoken advocate for for Donald Trump. As for OJ himself, the athlete was released from prison 2017 after serving nine years for a botched robbery scheme in Las Vegas, which had nothing to do with the LA case. Simpson died from prostate cancer in April 2024. He was 76. I covered the Simpson trial. He was guilty as hell. That's pretty much all I can say. Back after this.
