Here. Welcome to the no Spin News for Monday, April 13, 2026. Stand up for your country. More craziness in the Iran Basin, but I'm getting the feeling things may start to turn positive for the USA and of course the world. But the world doesn't know it in a day or two could be wrong. This is speculation, but there are some positive signs and that is the subject of this evening's Talking Points Memo. So over the weekend, talks in Pakistan between Iran and the USA went nowhere. Everybody's out of there now. So it was, I don't know, a waste of time. But certainly the mullahs are feeling no pressure to comply with President Trump's and Israel's demands. They like this, this is good for the mullahs, help spread the jihad, okay? They're not in any mood to compromise at all. So the United States now has to try to starve Iran out. And they're going to do that by blockading the Straits of Hormuz to all shipping in and out of Iranian ports. If you're a Saudi ship or Emirates, you can go through, but if you are attached to Iran dropping things off or picking things up, you cannot. And the US Navy will enforce that. And I have the utmost confidence that the Navy will. In the meantime, they're kind of clearing out a lot of the drones and mines and things like that. And centcom, US Central Command says that this is only impacting maritime traffic to Iran. Okay? So nobody else is involved unless you're buying stuff and China does. That's big okay from the mullahs. Now is it going to work? Who knows? But there's a pretty big chance it will. And that means that all commerce inside Iran will stop and people have to eat. So that's the strategy. Now, will it bring the mullahs to their knees? Nobody knows that. You can watch stupid cable all day long and they'll speculate, but nobody can possibly know. A negative to this is the UK and that's Keir Starmer. The prime minister says we're not going to help. And that means that none of the other NATO countries will help either. And they could with the blockade. All right, but they won't. Boy, oh, boy, that's really a negative for the world. When the whole continent of Europe sits it out, there's a reason they don't like Israel. Nobody likes Israel and they don't like Trump. That's it. If another president were there, they'd have maybe a little. But with the Greenland thing and all that, this is personal now. It's not good. And there's nothing Donald Trump can do about it at this point. Can't force NATO to cooperate. Now, other countries like aforementioned Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states will help, and that'll be a new alliance there. But it is a conundrum. That's my favorite new word here for the United States and Israel. And I wrote a column yesterday, and I hope you read it on billoriley.com called Disruption. Again, the mullahs like this. This is good for the jihad. We're powerful. We're going to do what we want. That United States isn't going to show us anything or tell us what to do. That's the mentality here. It's not like we want to make a deal. They don't want to make a deal. Like Putin in Ukraine. Almost exactly the same mentality now, maybe they will have to once they're starving, but I don't know. This morning, The Dow opened 184 points down. It recovered in the afternoon. Oil is up to about $104 a barrel. That's up 60% from a year ago. So everybody's suffering higher prices. We'll tell you about that in smart life. It's just a reality. And a lot of Americans don't like it. And some of them will vote against Trump because of the higher prices in the midterms. President has to know that now he's hoping for a positive outcome so that the prices go down quickly. But this is very intense. You may remember at the beginning of all this, I said that this was the biggest gamble of the Trump presidency. And it obviously is could go either way. In the meantime, the media continues to pound Trump because they hate him, too. It's very much like NATO. This is personal. And here's what the president said about the media. Go.
Donald Trump
It's so sad when you look at cnn, the New York Times, ABC fake News, NBC fake News. When you look at this stuff, it's so sad to See it, I mean, they report things that they know are false. It's almost treasonous, actually, if you want to really know the truth.
Bill O'Reilly
Okay, so summing up, President can't pull back on this now he's got to carry it through. So there can't be any Mullahs get to keep their uranium or they get any participation in straits of Hormuz. That can't happen. Trump's presidency be destroyed. So he's got to know that and makes it very much complicated. But I just have a feeling that this blockade in Hormuz is really going to energize the Persian people because, boy, oh, boy, think it's rough here, us paying more over there. And that's the memo. All right, so the Pope is involved with this and it's being reported all wrong. So the Pope is in the turn the other cheek business. That's the business that the Pontiff is in. Turn the other cheek. Okay? Peace at almost all costs. You remember in the Gospel that when the Nazarene was being condemned, he was mocked by the Roman centurions and even some other people that had proximity to him. Well, if you're God, bring down your angel, legions and free, you know, that kind of thing. And Jesus just stood there and looked at them. So the Pope is in the peace business. That's where he is. President Trump's in the confrontation business. He wants to solve problems that some are violent. Okay. Obviously, the mullah is having a nuclear weapon could lead to worldwide destruction. Okay? So there are two different points of view here. It's not like they're. The Pope and President Trump are sitting down and they're trying to figure out a strategy. There are two strategies. Okay? The first strategy is Pope Leo saying, everybody stop. We want peace. Warmongers are bad. And the other one is Donald Trump saying, hey, I have an obligation to protect the American people. Here's what the President said on True Social. I don't want a Pope who thinks it's okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. I don't want a Pope who thinks it's terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a country that was sending massive amounts of drugs into the United States and even worse, emptying their.

And I don't want a pope who criticizes the President of the United States because I'm doing exactly what I was elected in a landslide to do, unquote. All right, so he, President Trump is mad at the Pope. He doesn't want the Pope intruding with criticism on him. The Pope doesn't much like President Trump. Roll that.
Pope Francis
I will continue to speak out loud against war, looking to peace, promoting dialogue and multilateral relationships among the states to look for just solutions of the problems. Too many people are suffering in the world today. Too many innocent people are being killed.
Bill O'Reilly
Okay? Now, if I'm discussing this with the Pope, I'm saying, yes, but what is the obligation that you have as the leader of the Catholic Church worldwide to stop that killing, though Innocent people are being killed. Right? That's true. What's your obligation to stop it? That's my question. The Pope is going to say, my obligation is to tell everybody not to do it. He's not a. He's not. His business is not in public policy. This is like comparing the Navy SEALs to the Carmelite nuns. Okay? SEALs are in the business of warfare and the Carmelite nuns are in the business of helping people without any violence whatsoever. And there never will be So I hope you see, and the two sides are talking past each other. All right, if I could moderate a discussion between the Pope and President Trump, I could get a consensus on this, I think. But that's not going to happen, of course. Anyway, so there's literally abroad, no one sticking up for the USA in this. And there are a lot of people enabling the mullahs. And that is the memoir in interesting historical perspective here. Only one pope in my lifetime has intruded himself into a political situation. That was Pope John Paul ii, the first Polish Pope. He served a long time, and he was elected in 1978. And he went to Poland, which was dominated by the Soviet union, totalitarianism in 79, and basically said, hey, you have to be. You have to change. You have to treat the Polish people humanely. That's the only Pope that I know of that injected himself into politics. Isn't that interesting? Joining us now from Washington or nearby is the online opinion editor of the Washington Times, Cheryl Chumley. And Cheryl's got an interesting book out called God Given or Bust. Okay. Defeating Marxism and Saving America with Biblical Truths. So this is a perfect guess for us. Let's do the overall number one assessment that Donald Trump is in a tight spot right now. How tight do you think it is?
Cheryl Chumley
Thanks for having me. First off, Bill, and to answer your question, it's only tight if he doesn't have the resolve to see it through. You made the key point here, that this administration cannot back down from Iran, otherwise they're toast. Right? They just emboldened the regime further and they weaken America around the world. So this administration has to continue until Iran bows. So that's the tight spot. But you also made the point, and I agree with you, that, you know, this blockade could do wonders in bringing Iran to its knees, particularly because of the internal pressures from the citizens that will result from it.
Bill O'Reilly
All right? But the likelihood of the mullahs caring about their own people is what? Zero.
Cheryl Chumley
I think the biggest point you made was nobody knows, right? But you're right, the regime over there does not care about its people, but at a certain point in time, they run out of resources, right? Their leaders are being killed. Their missiles are dwindling. Their ability to wage military operations are dwindling. They bomb their friends and allies, you know, the. At least the ones that they do business with against their enemies. And China really hasn't weighed in in any strong public show of support for them. So at a certain point, the scales tip to Iran doesn't have any place to go here.
Bill O'Reilly
All right. But again, they can, as the Third Reich did, hold out for a while, wreaking havoc on the entire world's economy because everybody's going to pay more. A lot of people don't have any money.
Cheryl Chumley
They can. And that's where our European allies should really be stepping up because they're the ones that are taking the first and foremost hit from Iran right now. But look, Iran, if they could hold out to the end of President Donald Trump's administration, that would be their play here. I don't know if they have the resources to do that, but they know that this president, unlike any other president in 47 years, is the one that has taken the wartime opposition to Iran and has stood strong. And he's very different. Trump is very different from any other president. So if Iran, the regime could hold out to the end of his White House term, then they might have a chance. But that's a long time away right now.
Bill O'Reilly
Now, my analysis of the Pope, that they are too.

Financial stress is hitting an all time high. Millions of Americans are stretched thin with no extra money, no room to breathe. And this isn't just lower income households. Middle class families are also running out of options. If debt has been weighing on you, you are not alone. And waiting usually makes things worse. Interest grows, minimum payments trap you. Nothing changes. You don't need another loan or to consider bankruptcy. You need a strategy. That's why I like done with debt. Today they're in two different businesses and they're not going to. There's no connection. Although I think I could make one. But right now it's Trump sees the Pope as a detriment to this and the Pope sees Trump as a warmonger. You expect that to change?
Cheryl Chumley
No, I don't. But look, these two entities don't have to be working at cross purposes, right? Because America was founded on an ideal of fighting for religious freedom. And we had the black robe regiment, right? We had the pastors that would preach in church and then take their robes off and go out in the field and fight alongside the colonists. And, you know, the Pope doesn't have to choose between faith and biblical principles and supporting a war. There is plenty of opportunity for the Pope to weigh in on the evil of the regime while still calling for peace. Those two things don't happen.
Bill O'Reilly
But I haven't heard him weigh in on the evil of the Iranian regime. Regime, have you?
Cheryl Chumley
No, I haven't. And that's problematic. That's why I think Donald Trump is quite right in criticizing the Pope's actions here.
Bill O'Reilly
What about using a picture of him as Jesus? And Trump didn't do it, but he forwarded it out there. It's pulled now, but when I saw that, I went, that's not helping anything.
Cheryl Chumley
That's more than not helping. It's really offensive. I'm a Christian. I was offended. And I'm still a supporter of Trump. And I had actually just penned a piece for the Washington Times criticizing Trump over that when he pulled it from social media. So I'm not sure if I'll still run it or not. But look, the evangelical community loves Donald Trump and they support Donald Trump, but they don't. You know, there are certain, there are certain lines you don't cross. And putting out a picture of yourself sort of looking like Jesus. That's a line.
Bill O'Reilly
Yeah, it was more than sort of Cheryl. It was. And again, he didn't do it, but he forwarded it out there. And it just seems like this isn't the time for any kind of levity at all. All right, summing up this thing, I see a glimmer on this Hormuz Pentagon, because the Pentagon obviously is running this thing strategy. But I think the mullahs would take their whole 93 million people down with them. And that, boy, oh boy, that's a tough one.
Cheryl Chumley
And you know, the problem here are the members of the media and our so called European allies that they are really, they're almost working on the side of the regime more than they are on the side of freedom, more than they are on the side even of the Iranian people. And if the media would start helping in reporting the truths here and our European allies would actually do something aside from working against America and Israel, then perhaps it wouldn't have to come to that point. That you just described, where all the people of Iran are subjected to the brutality of this regime.
Bill O'Reilly
Do you know what the group think is in Naito, why they're not helping? Do you have any idea?
Cheryl Chumley
Well, you know, you did reference that. Their dis. Dislike of Israel and their dislike of Trump. And I honestly can't think of any bigger reason than that.
Bill O'Reilly
Yeah, I think that's what it is. All right, Cheryl, thanks very much for helping us out, as always. Really appreciate it. Thank you. All right, politics in California. This guy, Eric swalwell, terrible person, 45 years old. He's accused of sexual assault by a number of women, is being investigated in Manhattan by the D.A. alvin Bragg. He's done. He's finished. And he'll have to resign his seat in Congress. He was running for governor. He was the favorite on the Democratic side. He's out. So what's going to happen in California? It looks like there are a number of other Democrats running. Xavier Becerra, he was the former Health and Human Services press secretary, not press secretary under Biden. You got former mayor of la. You got a rich billionaire, Tom Steyer, Katie Porter, kind of a crazy woman. Anyway, there they are. And then on the Republican side, you have Chad Bianco, he's a Republican Riverside county sheriff. And you got the former TV guy for Fox, Steve Hilton, who has been endorsed by President Trump. Democrats will probably still win that. It's California, of all places. But Swalwell, he would have won had this not happened. June 2nd is the California primary. Okay. And then we come to a terrible story. Al Sharpton, a big race hustler. He makes money dividing blacks and whites. Been doing it for decades. I know him very well. And he's a money guy. Money, money, money, money, money, money. So it's our 250th anniversary as a country, and Sharpton's not going to participate. Go.
Al Sharpton
They're going to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the country, July 4th. But that's not our celebration. We was. We were slaves then. And they celebrate signing the Declaration of Independence, 1776. We were not even emancipated until 1863. So I don't know what. Everybody getting ready for a celebration. You know that it seems crazy for me to have on the birthday hat at your birthday party. That ain't my party.
Bill O'Reilly
Yeah. Okay. So, you know, what are you doing here, Al? I mean, you hate the country. You go to the Bahamas or something? I mean, it's ridiculous. I mean, most African Americans are smart enough to know about the history that they've had to endure. I write about it in Confronting evil. Doesn't mean we're not one country

Bill O'Reilly
and why are you doing this? You're doing it for money. The term is race hustler. Race hustler. Nice, right? Cuba caught a big break. So Cuba was on the edge of having to do what Venezuela did, remove their government and have the United States call a shots. That was before the mullahs in Iran. So we can't do both. And so now the Cuban government and 89% of the Cuban people are impoverished. Just keep that in mind. Okay, so the leader dictator of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canal, says this go.
Miguel Diaz-Canel
I don't think there would be any justification for the United States to launch a military aggression against Cuba or for the US to undertake a surgical operation or the kidnapping of a president. If that happens, there will be fighting and there will be a struggle and we'll defend ourselves. And if we need to die, we'll die. Because as our national anthem single says, dying for the homeland is to live.
Bill O'Reilly
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I want you just give your people a break, okay? Communism, huh? We'll be back with a final thought in a moment. All right, Final thought of the day. As you know, I do what they call hits, which is appearances on News Nation twice a week and then we do specials for them out the San Francisco special. We're going to go to London, which has been taken over by Muslims and we're going to do a special report out of there. But anyway, News nations ratings are going up now. I'm not taking credit. They got a lot of talent. They're not taking credit. But there, there is a little bit of linkage. Okay. As I said, I'll be on Leland tonight, Cuomo on Wednesday. It's rock em sock em stuff that you don't see anywhere else in the cable universe. So congratulations to News Nation. I believe it's the fastest growing cable outfit now in the country and linear television is on the decline. So for News Nation to be coming up in the face of everybody else going down, that's pretty impressive. One final thing, when Donald Trump leaves the arena, the political arena, all of these linear operations, not all of them. I mean, News Nation, if it continues to grow the way it is, it'll be around. A lot of them are going to be in trouble because Trump dominates every night what you see on cable television. And without him, it's going to really be a challenge for those people. We cover everything. We're not zeroed in on hating or loving Trump as so many of them are. Anyway, Cashew and Leland tonight and in Cuomo on Wednesday. Thank you for watching the no spin news and we'll see you get tomorrow.
