Mauro Comuzzi, president and owner at The Paving Lady, shares his journey in the asphalt industry and the growth of his business. He started in construction, worked in home building, and eventually started his own asphalt maintenance business. He acquired The Paving Lady from the original owner and grew the company to over 100 employees. Mauro discusses the challenges of working in South Florida, including high humidity and the effects of the sun and salt on asphalt. He talks about the marks left by certain vehicles and the need to let traffic roll over the pavement to smooth it out. Mauro also shares his experiences overcoming hurdles in his business, such as financing a new truck and emphasizes the importance of company culture and the need for clear communication and accountability.
