Welcome to The Breakthrough Brand Podcast — your go-to for relatable, raw, and tactical business training designed to help you hit those big goals! I’m Elizabeth McCravy, a website designer and business educator for female entrepreneurs. I’ve built a multiple six-figure web design business in my 20s, and I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned so you can do it too. No secrets, just real talk and proven strategies for building a thriving business.
I’m a Christian business owner, mama to two boys (with baby #3 on the way!), and married to my high school sweetheart. I sell Showit website templates at elizabethmccravy.com and teach fellow designers how to build booked-out businesses through my course, Booked Out Designer. I also teach business owners how to start and scale a podcast in my program, Podcast Success Blueprint.
On this podcast, you’ll find solo episodes packed with actionable, easy-to-follow advice and inspiring expert interviews. We’ll dive into everything from online marketing, branding, podcasting, and business strategy, to faith, motherhood, productivity, and scaling your business. Let’s create a business that not only looks amazing from the outside but feels amazing on the inside too. It’s time to build your breakthrough brand!

About two or three months after my first son was born, I looked at my husband and said: "I literally cannot do my business and motherhood at the same time." I meant it. I was overwhelmed, so in love with this tiny human, and I genuinely just wanted to be a mom. I did not want to think about my business at all. That was almost five years ago. Since then, I've had three kids in four and a half years, never had full-time childcare, and I'm still running the same business I started a decade ago. And I have so much I want to say about what that journey has actually looked like. This is the final episode in my 10 Years of Business series, and I wanted to close it with the most honest conversation I could have: what it actually looks like to build a business through motherhood. Not a highlight reel, and not a "how I do it all" episode (because I truly do not do it all). Just the real stuff that I think too often goes unsaid.I cover four ways motherhood has genuinely changed my business, including one I did not expect, and close with three pieces of advice for moms who are in the thick of it right now. Whether you're pregnant, newly postpartum, or a few years in and still figuring it out, I think this one will really resonate.Links mentioned in this episode:Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/334Find more episodes on motherhood: https://elizabethmccravy.com/category/personal/motherhood/They bloom because of you: https://www.instagram.com/p/DWAJjSakxM5/?img_index=2Booked Out Designer course: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod Showit website builder: https://elizabethmccravy.com/showit Shop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Want the insider scoop? Ten years in business means a lot of lessons learned but it also means a lot of moments I'll never forget. In this episode, I'm taking you on a personal trip down memory lane through 14 of my biggest pinch-me moments from the last decade. Some of these I've never talked about publicly before. Some of them you may have witnessed in real time if you've been a longtime listener. And some of them still make me emotional to this day. From the first time I made a sale while I was sleeping, to finding out I was pregnant in a hotel room two hours before walking on stage, to a certain billionaire posting a photo with one of my coffee mugs... these are the moments that made me stop and think, is this real life? I'm also sharing some that are quieter and more personal, including what I'd consider the biggest pinch-me moment of all, which is happening right now in this season of my life. This episode is part of my ongoing 10-year anniversary series, so if you haven't listened to the episodes before this one, I'd encourage you to go back and catch up. And next week, I'll be wrapping up the series with an episode all about motherhood and business (something I touched on a lot in this one).Links mentioned in this episode:Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/333Episode 114 Behind the Scenes of My Multiple Five-Figure Launch (the Booked Out Designer beta launch): https://elizabethmccravy.com/114Real estate investing episodes: 134, 135, 136, 197 and 198Booked Out Designer course: elizabethmccravy.com/bod Showit website builder: https://elizabethmccravy.com/showit Shop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Want the insider scoop? Ten years ago, I launched my first website, declared myself a business owner, and had absolutely no idea what I was getting myself into. In this episode, I'm sharing the seven things I wish I could go back and tell myself on day one (the lessons I learned the hard way so you don't have to). These are the things that don't always get talked about in the online business world but absolutely should be. I'm getting into the real, unglamorous side of running a business: the mindset shifts, the money stuff, the client situations, and the behind-the-scenes work that never makes it to anyone's Instagram feed.I'm also sharing my absolute favorite tip of all, which I saved for last, that I think might be the most fun one too.If you're just starting out, a few years in, or even a decade deep like me, I think there's something in this episode for you. Listen in, and let me know which one hits home.Links mentioned: Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/332 Grab my end of month financial guide (for free): https://elizabethmccravy.com/profitShop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Join me inside Booked Out Designer: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Want the insider scoop? This week I’m back with part two of my 10-year business reflection series. In episode 330, I shared the first five lessons I’ve learned after a decade of running my business, and today I’m continuing the list with five more things that have shaped the way I think about entrepreneurship.Reaching 10 years in business has made me reflect on just how much life, and business, can change over time. When I started, I was newly married, working constantly, and figuring things out as I went. My business looked completely different back then. Now I’m running it in a totally different season of life as a mom of three young kids, with different priorities, different capacity, and honestly a different perspective on what success even means. One of the biggest themes for me lately has been remembering that your business doesn’t have to look the same forever. As your life changes, your business can (and should) change too. If you haven’t listened to part one yet, be sure to go back and check out episode 330 where I share the first five lessons from my first decade in business.Links Mentioned:Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/331 Shop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Join me inside Booked Out Designer: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Want the insider scoop? After a two-month break, I'm back, and I'm coming back in a big way. This month, I'm celebrating 10 years in business with a special series, and I could not be more excited to share it with you.In this episode, I'm kicking things off with the first five lessons I've learned across a decade of running a business, generating multiple millions of dollars in revenue, raising three kids, and navigating all the messy, beautiful in-between. These are all real things I've learned from doing the work, making mistakes, and growing as both a business owner and a person.Whether you're just starting out, a few years in, or even further along than I am, I think there's something in this episode for you. I share what I wish I'd known earlier, what I'd do differently, and the mindsets that have shaped the way I run my business today (especially as my life and priorities have shifted over the years).Tune in for part one of this series, and come back next week for episode 331, where I'll share five more.Links Mentioned:Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/330 Shop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Join me inside Booked Out Designer: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Want the insider scoop? In this episode, I’m walking you through one simple journal prompt that has the potential to completely shift how you think about the year ahead. This is something I personally do every year on my birthday, and it’s had an incredible impact on my life, my business, and the way I set goals. Instead of getting lost in surface-level resolutions or vague intentions, this exercise helps you zoom out and think about what would truly make the year meaningful (not just at the end of 2026, but decades from now).To make this even easier, I’ve put together a companion blog post that lays out the full prompt, tips, and categories to consider as you journal. You can find that post at https://elizabethmccravy.com/328I highly recommend pulling it up as you work through the exercise. It’s designed to guide you step by step and help you stay focused as you write! I’m so thrilled to share today’s episode with you because I brought on someone I deeply admire, my friend Akua Konadu, to teach a special guest training! This one was prepped during my maternity leave and I can't wait to share it with you. Akua hosts two incredible podcasts and is a gifted storytelling strategist, and she is truly one of the most natural interviewers I know. I knew she’d bring something impactful to you… and she absolutely delivers. In this training, Akua takes us behind the scenes of what actually makes an interview powerful. If you’ve ever worried about “winging it,” struggled to pull deeper stories out of guests, or wondered how to create conversations that stand out in a crowded podcast world, this episode will feel like such a breath of fresh air. She shares what it looks like to prep with intention without losing authenticity, how to lead interviews with curiosity instead of control, and simple mindset shifts that help you show up more confidently on the mic.One thing I love about Akua is how deeply she understands storytelling... not just as a concept, but as a real tool for connection and impact. You’ll hear her talk about how to invite guests into meaningful moments, how to create flow that feels conversational instead of rigid, and how to gently steer a conversation so your listeners walk away with transformation, not just information. If you want your episodes to feel richer, more natural, and more memorable, this is such a treat.Links mentioned: Read the Shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/327 Follow Akua on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/akuakonadu_Take Akua's storytelling quiz: https://akuakonadu.com/quizListen to Akua's Podcast: The Unbreakable Business Podcast hosted by Honeybook and Here's the Tea with AkuaSign up for Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Take my Showit template quiz (and get free Canva templates!): https://elizabethmccravy.com/quiz Connect on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/elizabethmccravy/ Shop Showit templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Join me inside Booked Out Designer: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod If you're a new business owner who still doesn't have a website yet, I made something for you. This week, I’m re-sharing one of the most loved Christmas episodes I’ve ever recorded. It originally aired last year, but so many of you told me how helpful and calming it was during the holiday rush that I knew it deserved a second round. If you’re craving a little more peace and organization this season, or if you’re listening for the very first time, you’re in the right place. In this episode, I’m diving into the practical side of holiday prep: keeping track of gifts, making gatherings easier, organizing your plans, and navigating all the moving pieces that come with December. Whether you have kids or not, these are the real systems that have helped me stay sane through years of gifting, hosting, and juggling family schedules. I’ve learned so much as a wife, a mom, and someone who always seems to get stuck in charge of teacher gifts (and my hope is that what’s worked for me will make your own Christmas season feel lighter and more enjoyable). This episode is packed with seven big tips, some small and simple, some truly game-changing, all designed to help you stay organized, prepare ahead, and make space for the parts of Christmas that actually matter. I hope it brings you clarity, breathing room, and a few new traditions to love. In this Christmas episode, I’m sharing two of our family’s favorite faith-centered traditions (that are simple to execute on and have brought a lot of sweetness and meaning into our December). With little ones at home, I’ve learned that the best traditions don’t need to be complicated to make a big impact, and these are ones my kids look forward to all year long.To see pictures of our family traditions, make sure to check out the blog post for this week's episode: https://elizabethmccravy.com/325 I talk about how these traditions started for us, what they’ve looked like with kids at different ages, and why they’ve become such a grounding part of our holiday season. I also share a new rhythm we’re adding this year as we head into Advent (something I’ve tried versions of in the past but am finally ready to jump into more intentionally). If you’re looking for faith-centered ideas that feel doable, gentle, and meaningful (especially with toddlers or preschoolers), I think you’ll enjoy this one. And if you try any of these traditions in your own home, I’d love to hear how they unfold for you.Other Christmas episodes to tune in to over the holiday season:Episode 297: How to Plan for Christmas to Avoid the OverwhelmEpisode 296: 7 Christmas Tradition Ideas for the Whole Family (+ How to Bring Jesus into Your Home for the Holiday/Advent Season) Episode 191: How to Actually REST This Christmas Season as a Business Owner (Taking Time Off, Holiday Bucketlists, and Business Dreaming)Links Mentioned:Read the full shownotes: https://elizabethmccravy.com/325 Sally Clarkson’s Blog:https://sallyclarkson.com/blog/2021/12/19/shepherds-meal-written-on-our-heartsJesus Storybook Bible Advent signup: https://pages.faithgateway.com/jesus-storybook-bible-advent-calendar-printable-free-registration/ Jesus Storybook Bible: https://amzn.to/4pa02oBWandering Wisemen blog: https://www.looktohimandberadiant.com/2015/01/wandering-wise-men-part-1.htmlShop our Showit Website Templates: https://elizabethmccravy.com/shop Join me inside Booked Out Designer: https://elizabethmccravy.com/bod Sign up for the Podcast Success Blueprint: https://elizabethmccravy.com/psb Connect with Elizabeth on Instagram: https://instagram.com/elizabethmccravy If you're a new business owner who still doesn't have a website yet, I made something for you.
