Dan Fates
So we had one of the comments. When was he not and I should. No, no, I'm setting something up here. One of the comments and I apologize to whoever commented that I don't specifically remember who it was, but they were like, is Dan transferring his man crush in love from day ball to Brady?
Mike Catalana
It's tough to reach Dable level.
Jenna Cottrell
He was the one that got away.
Mike Catalana
Not there yet, but they. But I'm ready to be hurt.
Jenna Cottrell
All right. Welcome back to the Buffalo plus podcast, presented by Connors and Faris, Mike Catalana, Dan Fates. I am Jenna Cottrell. Please be sure to, like, comment, subscribe and and share our channel. We always appreciate it. All right, day three of training camp in the books. We heard from Bobby Babich. We're going to talk a little bit of defense, but first, let's talk the offensive side of the ball. To start, Mike, Josh Allen was on a heater.
Mike Catalana
Yeah.
Dan Fates
I tweeted out that 7 on 7 for Josh Allen is comical for a lot of quarterbacks. It's good. It's hard to stop him. Right. He's just there, he's dealing, he's moving around. Then even in the 11 on 11, they were making some plays. It looked good, Dan. Until it didn't look good.
Mike Catalana
Yeah, let's stay with the positives. Yeah, I thought early on, the seven on seven, everybody got in the mix. And again, seven on seven, there's no pass rush but the corners. The secondary is still playing at full speed. It's still full speed without just Josh having to deal with the rush. Kincaid had a great back shoulder catch against Rasul Douglas. Then Coleman caught a ball. That was an adjusted route because I think Coleman saw that Rasul didn't have help over the top. Josh and Keon, same exact page, went over the top. That got the crowd really into it early on. And that's when it was two for Two. And you're like, ooh, yeah, that was a nice dime. Then he had a nice ball over the middle. Nice little touch pass to Dawson Knox.
Jenna Cottrell
That was nice.
Mike Catalana
He caught that one. And then Khalil Shakir ran a rub route, wheel route off the corner, down the sidelines, Keon laid the pick, kind of the rub on the outside. And again, another just beautiful touch pass by Josh. So seven on seven was. Was phenomenal. It was a great start there. And as practice went on, the defense got kind of the last lap, maybe a little bit of Jekyll and Hyde for the offense. But again, early on, through most of his practice, I went. Josh is feeling it today.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Dan Fates
Yeah. The ball wasn't hitting the ground.
Mike Catalana
Yes.
Dan Fates
Because we talk about that a lot. You know, you watch, and the ball's not hitting the ground, guys are making catches. Allen is finding people again, within reason of what. What you actually see in a preseason training camp practice. I thought they looked really good early.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah, I did, too. And I thought that was one of those things that you wanted to see the confidence continue to grow, the momentum continuing. And you're right. Like, early on, I was like, that catch by Keon Coleman was excellent. Even just seeing, you know, Dalton Kincaid, the Dawson Knox catch as well, like, things like that. And we did get to speak to Keith Keon Coleman today. And I found it so interesting because I was like, oh, I was expecting to get, like, the laughs. You know, it's Keon. It's a big personality. It's the cookies, it's the. The coat, all that stuff. But it was a lot more dialed back, is the perfect way to phrase it.
Mike Catalana
Turned it down a little bit.
Jenna Cottrell
And I think we asked him, you know, what is. You know, what has this been like, trying to learn the playbook, all this stuff. And he's like, I've been studying. So I think now we've seen so much of his personality in really, the off season, and. And now it's like, okay, now it's time to work.
Dan Fates
I even noticed that at minicamp, too.
Mike Catalana
Yes.
Dan Fates
It was like, you see him on social, and he's funny, and somebody had said to me, oh, I don't like when guys are brash. I never think he comes across as brash. Comes across a little goofy. Right.
Jenna Cottrell
I think he's naive almost, and not in, like, a dig way, but authentic. Yes.
Dan Fates
He leans into it a little bit, too. I think he does. And that part I never hear him say, I'm this, I'm that. He plays with a confidence. I Think I agree and I that is necessary. He did that news conference back when we were at the minicamp and I thought, wow, that was like a different guy than we had seen in the initial thing when he had fun with the cookies and the jacket and all that stuff. I think he's a pretty serious football player. Even though people from the outside see all the other stuff and they're like, oh, it's Keon and, and he's making the jokes and all. And even, you know, Joe Brady and Brandon Bean saying, my friends around the league are like, he's a funny guy, hope he can play. But as a player I find him to be. I say serious. I think that's the way you approach him.
Mike Catalana
They didn't draft him for his personality, they drafted him for his play. And that is what we have seen. I thought it was another solid day from the rookie and another step in the right direction. Offense clicking early again and it was like we've seen it was all spread around.
Jenna Cottrell
Yes. It wasn't just everyone was eating. Yeah.
Mike Catalana
Used to be great day. Josh to Diggs. Josh to Diggs. Josh to Diggs. Gabe caught a pass. This is, this is all over the place. And again the sure hands again. I've talked about it before. I love Keon's hands. He had a catch. They also did one on one reps at the end of practice, which I thought was different because usually they do that the start of practice. One on one with the corners. He won a route against Rasul Douglas where he went over top of him and then he won on a little slant route inside on Terran and Taren was all over him. But it was one of those contested catches in traffic that I thought went. Those are the ones where they're trying to knock it out and you got to have strong hands to come through the middle of the field. And I liked what I saw and.
Dan Fates
I don't want to interrupt you, but I do want to say one thing. You talked about the way he is in the one on ones and those drills. Listen, nobody was more competitive in those drills than Diggs.
Mike Catalana
Correct.
Dan Fates
Diggs took every one of them.
Mike Catalana
That trey was awesome.
Dan Fates
And I, I see some of that in Keon. I, I think, listen, he's a rookie too, so he better be. But I see some of that win, win, win or attempt to win all the time and I think doesn't mean that's going to play out to 1200 yards, but it means if the guy is working and, and really that's again taking his crap Seriously, at the work time, I think that's good.
Jenna Cottrell
I liked that philosophy switch in him of, like, okay, now it's time that you kind of dig in. You kind of. You can still have fun. Obviously, like, this is a team that I think you have to show your personality. But also, like you mentioned, the dialing it back is perfect because the main thing is the main thing. And I think. I think as a rookie.
Mike Catalana
All right, coach.
Jenna Cottrell
But it's true. Like, I think sometimes it can be distracting when you get a lot of attention. So to just kind of hone in and be like, I just. I noticed a big difference in his demeanor today, and not in a negative way, but just in a more focused way, which I appreciate.
Mike Catalana
And going back to Mike's point, I thought the same thing in minicamp, when he's like, I don't want to be remembered for cookies or a yellow jacket. I want to be remembered. And it's time to focus in. I will say, too, the ball that he caught in the seven on seven over Rasul Douglas, he then, you know, Rasool ended up on the ground because he was trying to leap up for the catch, which was a perfect throw by Josh Keon helped him up. Diggs probably would have spun the football there and probably would have done a little dance. Keon just helped him up.
Jenna Cottrell
I don't know about that.
Dan Fates
I would say that that's being deferential to a veteran in that moment. Yeah, I think that's. That's a smart way to handle. He's not doing that against the jets, but it's your teammate in camp. But I don't know with Diggs, in moments, if they were going at it. Oh, absolutely. If there had been stuff going on.
Mike Catalana
I think it would have celebrated.
Jenna Cottrell
I think it's a different dynamic, though, when you're established a hundred percent.
Dan Fates
Yes.
Jenna Cottrell
So I feel like that's not being. I think maybe Diggs would have done that, but it's. Because the dynamic in between them would is different.
Dan Fates
And I also want to reserve the right to say, now we're seeing it in the regular season, but there's that old Tom Brady line. He's not even the only one. They used to use it. Who's Tom's favorite receiver? Whoever's open. Right. I do sense some of that in camp this year. You said it about the targets. I think that is freeing for the quarterback.
Jenna Cottrell
I think it's gotta be.
Dan Fates
I think it's freeing where it's like, you know, practice is practice, but you do try to play like, you practice.
Jenna Cottrell
Hold on. Let him cook.
Dan Fates
I do think there is that element of I'm going to these guys. That's my focus. And then it's like, oh, 10, 14, 0. Whoever's there, I'm throwing the ball to. I think it will open up Josh's mind to see the whole field more.
Mike Catalana
That's fair.
Dan Fates
Okay, but go ahead.
Mike Catalana
Number one wide receivers get a whole lot of targets because they're number one wide receivers.
Dan Fates
I'm not disagreeing with you.
Mike Catalana
I'm just saying there's been a ton of talk about Josh forced the ball to Steph. As if Steph, I don't know why we're talking. Was so adamant of wanting to.
Dan Fates
We're talking about it because it's a.
Mike Catalana
Marked difference now on the team where Josh trusted Steph. So when he needed somebody to go to, Josh locked onto him. I don't think it was anything in the huddle of Diggs being like, hey, you better throw me the ball. I agree. It was just. Michael Pittman for the Indianapolis Colts had 180 targets. CeeDee Lamb has a ton of targets. When you have a clear number one guy, you tend to focus on that guy. I think we'll see that a little bit with Kincaid this year. As a guy that, hey, when I need to play and we need to get something going, I'm going to hone in on one guy because it's your go to guy.
Dan Fates
It's who you trust, and he's going to try to build that. My only point this now is Josh has a bunch of new guys.
Mike Catalana
Yep.
Dan Fates
So earn your right. Earn that trust in the quarterback.
Mike Catalana
I learned today.
Jenna Cottrell
Do we want to do our pass catcher of the day?
Dan Fates
Sure.
Mike Catalana
Well, how did practice end?
Jenna Cottrell
Well, it ended by three interceptions. Yeah, like, all in a quite a short period of time.
Dan Fates
I wanted to ask you, Jenna, because I didn't hear the whole thing. Did Keon get asked about the interception?
Jenna Cottrell
I don't. I don't think so.
Dan Fates
Okay, so there was a play. It appeared to me standing there, not knowing what the call was. Keon may have had. He had miscommunication with Josh, and the ball went right into Kyrie Lim's hands. And he took it back. Pick six. Big celebration moment. Josh threw it to a spot. Five was the only one in that spot. Keon went out, and I think Shakir was on the inside, but I think it was Keon. That is me guessing. It looked like miscommunication. If I'm guessing on that, I'm saying, is it's Keon. Usually it would be the rookie and the wide receiver making the mistake. You don't know 100%.
Mike Catalana
Josh also threw interceptions to Mack Hollins. It was also a miscommunication. Taylor Rapp picked that one off and then a deep shot to Marquez Valdez. Marquez Valdez scantling. That was picked off by Christian Benford. So it was three interceptions in about a span of five plays. Dolphins fans and Chiefs fans that will come here will, will love this comment. Again, taking chances. And we've talked about it before. Josh and MVS trying to get on the same page. And I'm over here watching it and I go, if you created a wide receiver in Madden, I think you would create somebody that would look like Marc Valdez. Scanlan. Yeah, like he just looks.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah, I can see the part.
Mike Catalana
His hands can't be as bad as they were last year. They just can't.
Jenna Cottrell
I, I hear you, but I feel like even through early on in camp you're seeing kind of those, I don't want to say miscommunications, but I don't think they are on the same page.
Dan Fates
Well, we saw them after practice again. We were in the building, I guess in the.
Jenna Cottrell
We were in the facility, but we.
Dan Fates
Weren'T in the huddle. It was MVS and Shakir. Shakir Brady. Brady and Josh talking, talking something through. It could have been about a specific route. It could have been anything. But there was a little bit of that today.
Mike Catalana
We have seen that time and time over the first three days of this first week of practice. Josh seeming to kind of keep tweaking things with mbs. Yeah, he is a fast, tall wide receiver. Josh, we've joked around. He hasn't had options like this. He joked after day one, I can't throw it high enough for Mack Hollins like he has. So I think Josh is also having to get used to this. We're seeing Josh time and time again. I saw it again today, even lining up with Joe Brady across like, hey, I want my guys here. I don't want them here. And all of these things. Josh has really taken control where Joe Brady says, this is Josh Allen's offense. I've seen that more and more of like we're running this play. Josh is calling it. Josh is calling the shots. It's encouraging to see how they get on the same page because right now him and MVS, for whatever reason are not MVS. His best catch today was from Mitch Trubisky during 11 on 11. So they're not on the Same page. For whatever reason, it's the third day of camp.
Jenna Cottrell
He's worried.
Mike Catalana
I'm trying. I'm really.
Jenna Cottrell
He's worried about his take.
Dan Fates
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Mike Catalana
Yeah.
Dan Fates
In case any of you missed it, we did our predictions on who would have the most receiving yards this year.
Mike Catalana
For wide receivers.
Dan Fates
For wide receivers. And Jenna has Khalil Shakir.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Dan Fates
I had Curtis Samuel and Dan went all in on mvs. That's his guy. But it's early. It's. It's not even August.
Mike Catalana
Yeah, relax.
Jenna Cottrell
Somebody.
Mike Catalana
Somebody tweeted me the screenshot of MBS's stats for his career. He's like, never had more than 600. It's like, ah, research.
Dan Fates
By the way, how are you with Joe Brady now? You're all in, right?
Mike Catalana
Yeah.
Dan Fates
So we had one of the comments. When was he not and I should. No, no, I'm setting something up here. One of the comments. And I apologize to whoever commented that I don't specifically remember who it was, but they were like, is Dan transferring his man crush in love from Dable to Brady?
Mike Catalana
It's tough to reach Dable level.
Jenna Cottrell
He was the one that got away.
Mike Catalana
Not there yet, but they. But I'm ready to be hurt. And that being said, there has been one of the big notes I put on here in my oldest though, by the way.
Dan Fates
I love this. I know I was just at the Country Music hall of Fame and it was cool. In some of these things they have like notebooks from the.
Jenna Cottrell
I was trying to read from like.
Dan Fates
The artists and when they write songs.
Jenna Cottrell
That's cool. That's cool.
Dan Fates
And then I'm like, this will be in the hall of Fame for Dan. It'll be his notebooks. And it's. It's tremendous motion.
Mike Catalana
And I underlined it every single snap. It'd be a short list to show to mark down the plays that the Bills don't have some form of pre snap motion. We saw that was a big adjustment in season going from Dorsey to Brady, and it seems like it has been ratcheted up even more.
Dan Fates
You like it?
Mike Catalana
I love it. The best offenses in the league, San Fran, Miami, pre snap motion. And also it helps give you the answers to the test before the ball is snapped. You're seeing, man, you're seeing zone. You're having the defense show their hand before the ball is snapped. I love it.
Dan Fates
Now, Brian Dabel, if you're watching this podcast, don't get too upset. It's. It's just a summer fling going on right now.
Jenna Cottrell
He was a Little bored without you. He needed something else.
Mike Catalana
Glad we got to talk about Dable.
Jenna Cottrell
The next line under motion is Josh and Envy as not on the same page.
Dan Fates
Wow.
Jenna Cottrell
Well, it actually says the same paycheck.
Dan Fates
Look at this.
Jenna Cottrell
There we go. Okay.
Dan Fates
Hey, listen, I was happy for the defense because they made some plays because I thought they got handled in the last two days.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Dan Fates
And I thought it was a little fight back. It is interesting. We always talk about this. Fans love offense. They love it. They want to see the touchdowns. You know, realizing that's your number one defense against them. A lot of times it is good for the defense to have their day and it gets to do some celebrating. Good for Kair. Even though he was right place, right was the right place and he took it back. I think that's good. And the offense, you know, again, like you said, it sort of went to a point and then it went bad and that's what it was today.
Jenna Cottrell
And it's interesting because we did get to hear from Bobby Babich today and I feel like we've talked so much about the energy that they bring, all of that stuff. But it was nice talking to him and I loved his answer about like, what's the biggest difference, you know, being defensive coordinator now? How's it sinking in? What do you feel like you are still learning?
Mike Catalana
Said I don't know what to do with my hands.
Jenna Cottrell
So relatable, especially with this job. Don't know what to do with my hands.
Mike Catalana
And on top of it too. He said that individual drills, which is how every practice starts. And that's one. That's when you see the video, that's what we're allowed to shoot of guys going through footwork drills. All these things. When you're the position coach, you run that. That part of practice. And he goes, I don't. He kind of said to me, I don't know where to go. And he goes, that's my favorite part of practice. And you can see it. We were over there in the far field because they practice special teams here. So we're able to film on the far field. And you can just see him wanting to go by the D line and the linebackers. And he's giving some coaching, but he knows he has to give that to his coaching, his coaches in that position. But he kind of just looks like a kid waiting for the school bus. Like, when do I get. When do I get to go?
Dan Fates
He's got a lot of nervous energy. Wasn't it? Didn't you say he was like Jogging around earlier.
Mike Catalana
He did.
Jenna Cottrell
He did wind sprints before. I don't think it's nervous energy. I just think that he.
Mike Catalana
We were all getting our wind sprints in.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah. He was like, oh, sorry, I'm a little hot from the wind sprints. I was like, that's wild. He's like, he's like doing media ruins. My, like, interrupts my workout routine. Same.
Mike Catalana
Shout out. Bobby Babbage senior.
Dan Fates
We had a nice talk with him.
Jenna Cottrell
Talk to him here today.
Dan Fates
Buffalo plus guy that he is, his family, they watch down in. He say Hilton Head, South Carolina.
Jenna Cottrell
Oh, that's beautiful.
Dan Fates
Yes. But he's up here. I said, got any notes for your son? I'm here with the grandkids.
Jenna Cottrell
That's cute.
Dan Fates
So there we go.
Jenna Cottrell
That and Bobby Babbage did touch on how cool that is. And I'm going to bring it back around to being at camp, but like having his father there, being able to have his son there, his kids like that. The Bills really preach that family dynamic, that family culture and having training camp be a space for the players also to bring their families here and have their families interact with the families and the fans that are here. It is a really cool dynamic that I just love. And like, the weather's been amazing. It is always really cool to see.
Dan Fates
Pass catcher of the day.
Mike Catalana
Dalton Kincaid.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Dan Fates
I mean, listen, every wide receiver today seemed to make a. You know, we saw a lot of plays. We saw not some great plays. We don't know all Kincaid. You just are just used to it.
Mike Catalana
Yep.
Dan Fates
Caught that one right over here on a little out. Turned on the defender.
Mike Catalana
Yep.
Dan Fates
Ran down the sidelines. I think he went for a touchdown. We always joke about that.
Mike Catalana
They were running plays, too. Somebody commented, shame on me for not enjoying training camp runs. That's. That might be up there with my salary cap thoughts.
Jenna Cottrell
Wow. That passionate. I mean, I get it.
Dan Fates
Well, the coaches do tell them, go to the end zone. Yes, they do want to see that. Run it, run it out. Go to the end zone. But there's so many things, if you were a defensive player that would be piss you off here. So yesterday we talked to Joe Brady and I asked him about that and we talked about it, the celebrating and all that. They do. So as later when he was leaving, I asked him, does that cause a little more competition with the defense, with the defensive players? He goes, oh, you mean when like guys are chucking the ball at somebody or throwing it at their feet, you know, afterward? He goes, yeah, it does, but that's good. For our guys, too. So a lot of times the defense. Like, the defense got to celebrate today because they had to pick six. It's not like you're having nine of those during practice today. If you do.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah, well, that's.
Dan Fates
The Bills have had those before. That was a little pre Josh that they used to have those all the time.
Mike Catalana
I know. A lot of comments, too, were asking how Matt Milano looks. We asked, obviously, Bobby Babbage about that. To have him back is just so refreshing. I think it takes a lot off of his plate just knowing that you have two studs.
Jenna Cottrell
Yes.
Mike Catalana
At that position, I think is.
Dan Fates
Are you concerned at all? It sounded like a. He'll be there when he needs to be there.
Jenna Cottrell
What he said was, Matt Milano, he's working back, and it's only a matter of time until he's Matt Milano. I believe in him.
Dan Fates
I do believe in him, too. It's a little bit of concern when I hear that.
Mike Catalana
None.
Jenna Cottrell
I don't. I think that's realistic.
Dan Fates
A little bit of concern. Just.
Mike Catalana
I think they've gotten. I think they've gotten burned by Trey. I think they got burned by Vaughn. Maybe that's tempering expectations of.
Jenna Cottrell
You've been hurt before.
Dan Fates
Oh, that London trip.
Jenna Cottrell
Oh, that was so bad for, like, on the field.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Jenna Cottrell
The trip itself was fun.
Mike Catalana
And just playing Jacksonville.
Dan Fates
Yeah. And Jacksonville. The only reason I'm saying that is, like, it seems to have gone, you know, I mean, you remember at the end of last year, there was people thinking, hey, maybe Milano and all. I mean, he was obviously a long way away from being back, which tells you how serious it is. And, you know, he's working at it. Yep. I'll feel better when he looks like Matt Milano out there. But he is out there all the time.
Mike Catalana
He did have a catch. He did have a coverage. They went 11 on 11. The ball got swung out in the flat to Curtis Samuel, and Milano was right there to wrap him up good.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Mike Catalana
So. Oh, you know, of course, the mentions. Well, the mentions are. Oh, Curtis Samuel can't even get by a linebacker. It's Matt freaking Milano.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Mike Catalana
Okay. And he's right there reading the play. And Babich was fired up to see that. So again, I know people are asking how he looks. Not doctors. Not doctors.
Jenna Cottrell
No.
Mike Catalana
Communications looks pretty good.
Dan Fates
You too.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Jenna Cottrell
Somehow they let me in.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Jenna Cottrell
I feel like I'm getting absolutely fried.
Mike Catalana
I went hat today. My forehead shambles. In shambles.
Dan Fates
We didn't even mention. I mean, we all went shades because Dan thought this was A good shot.
Jenna Cottrell
The sun is very bright.
Dan Fates
Comment. Do you like the shot?
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah. Seriously. What do you think of this? Oh, also. I do. Someone was making fun of me because my. I had, like, what looked like a black choker on yesterday. It was just my press credential flipped around. My. My bag, first of all.
Mike Catalana
Which is even more important.
Jenna Cottrell
No, I know, but, like, working with men, I'll be like, how do I look? Oh, fine.
Dan Fates
Yeah.
Jenna Cottrell
I thought you were a choker.
Dan Fates
I thought that's what you. I don't know, with jewelry or whatever you bring.
Jenna Cottrell
Not that. Whatever. All right. Anything else?
Mike Catalana
No.
Dan Fates
Oh, that's a day off tomorrow for the team. Saturday, and then we'll be right back out here on Sunday.
Jenna Cottrell
We have no idea what day it is.
Dan Fates
Nope.
Jenna Cottrell
Yeah, we'll be back here on Sunday.
Dan Fates
Yeah. And. And I'm only gonna say this. We got something special coming up. Not 1,000% guaranteed.
Mike Catalana
Yes.
Dan Fates
But it's close. We got something for us and for you guys coming up. Good. For the Buffalo Plus Channel. And. Yeah, we got it. We'll let you know as soon as we know for sure.
Mike Catalana
But it's.
Dan Fates
It's pretty good. I think you'll enjoy it.
Jenna Cottrell
It's a good tease.
Dan Fates
Yeah. How about that?
Jenna Cottrell
All right. For Dan and Mike, I'm Jenna. Please be sure to, like, comment, subscribe, and share. We'll be back when Bill's training camp resumes on Sunday. Thank you so much for watching. We'll catch you next time here on the Buffalo Plus Channel.
Date: July 27, 2024
Hosts: Mike Catalana, Jenna Cottrell, Dan Fetes
This episode offers a detailed breakdown of Day 3 of Buffalo Bills training camp, focusing on Josh Allen’s sharp offensive start, the emerging chemistry with new receivers (especially rookie Keon Coleman), and a strong defensive finish highlighted by three late interceptions. The hosts also discuss the evolving dynamic under offensive coordinator Joe Brady and touch on defensive coordinator Bobby Babich’s growing presence.
On Keon Coleman’s approach:
“I think he's a pretty serious football player...they didn’t draft him for his personality, they drafted him for his play.”
— Mike Catalana [04:29 & 05:12]
On Joe Brady’s system:
“The best offenses in the league…pre snap motion. And also it helps give you the answers to the test before the ball is snapped.”
— Mike Catalana [14:57]
On defense’s turnaround:
“I was happy for the defense because they made some plays, because I thought they got handled in the last two days...it is good for the defense to have their day and get to do some celebrating.”

The episode is energetic and conversational, combining deep football insight with camaraderie and light humor. The hosts bounce between analysis and personal anecdotes, while regularly poking fun at each other and referencing their ongoing debates and running jokes.
Day 3 of Bills camp saw Josh Allen start on fire, spreading the ball among new and familiar targets, but also highlighted the ongoing need to build chemistry—especially with receivers like MVS. Keon Coleman impressed not just with his plays but his professionalism. The defense rebounded late with multiple takeaways, offering hope for a stronger, more balanced unit. Changes under Joe Brady are obvious, and the defensive staff is making its presence felt. With key veterans like Matt Milano working back, and plenty of position battles ongoing, both sides of the ball look poised for a fiercely competitive August.
