B
So let's get this thing started. Is the pick is in with the.
C
Number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Travel Draft.
B
What? What?
D
I'm so confused. This is the Buffalo plus podcast brought to you by Connors and Ferris.
C
All right, welcome back to the Buffalo plus podcast presented by Connors and Ferris. Mike Catalana, Dan Fates, I am Jenna Cottrell. Please be sure to like, comment, subscribe and share. You know how much we appreciate it. A special episode today.
B
I'm hurting.
C
We're gonna talk pilates. We're gonna talk about the tush push. Going to talk about credit to me, but we're going to start with the Bills being announced that they will be on Hard Knocks this upcoming summer training camp at Fisher. Now we'll have even more cameras as Hard Knocks sets sights for Rochester, specifically Pittsford, New York. Your thoughts, Mike?
B
I love it.
C
I love it too.
B
I think it's great. And I, I've always liked Hard Knocks. I've always liked the training camp version of it. I, I've covered a lot of training camps for this team and I used to think, like, it would be kind of cool if they were around the Bills. And I found myself becoming more interested in some of the other teams and some of the stuff that goes on. And I think by far the best one is the training camp one because during the regular season it's kind of cool, but like, there's a lot going on during the season, so it'll be something to see, especially all of us at camp. And a lot of you guys come into camp and then you watch what they put on the show that week, which is kind of cool to see.
D
Yeah, it's. It's fitting. There will be Pittsford dairy. There will be turkey burgers. There will be Oak Hill. There will be a golf episode about Josh golfing. It will be Marges probably won't get the spotlight that it deserves for unless.
B
They follow us out tomorrow.
D
Mike up the media members.
B
What about my backyard? No, they're not common.
C
No that stinks.
D
But there will be media members that will hound attention.
B
It will be from their own version of the Tush push. Get out of my way. There's an HBO camera, but we all.
D
Talked about it too. Mike and Jenny, your thoughts? First of, are you surprised and do you think and maybe you, the viewer who's liked, commented and subscribed, are you happy about it? What are your thoughts about your team being under that microscope that is Hard Knocks?
C
I think I was surprised just because I usually think of Hard Knocks as being an up and coming team.
B
Bad team.
C
Yeah, about a bad team. Like up and coming was a kind way of saying bad. But for me, getting the text, I have shifters, push notifications on and I saw Bills and whenever I see that I'm like, oh, what's this? And I was like, wow, the Bills will be the Hard Knocks team for training camp. And immediately I was excited because obviously, look, we live in Rochester. We have covered Pittsford and training camps for some years now. But also just like this is our local community and getting to showcase and highlight all that is here and the great folks that are here I think will be really cool. I think too like the Bill's obviously going away for camp is a rarity in the NFL. So getting to highlight what that experience is like.
D
That's a good point.
C
Getting to have the dorms and kind of that unique look of like there's going to be a lot of fans there. What does that look like? It's a very like family friendly environment. So I was excited as well because I think, I think the Bills, you, you know, Josh Allen, you know, the NFL mvp, but I think for this team I usually find that when I'm watching Hard Knocks, you really get to see some of the other personalities and, and get to know other players that maybe don't get the same shine. And I think that this is a Bills team that is incredibly likable and I think that that will come out this summer. And I think so many fans are Josh Allen fans, but I think this will be give birth to a lot more just Bills fans in general too.
B
It'll be interesting to see how much Josh does beyond his normal media. Yeah, he's usually pretty good about it, but also this, you know, sometimes it's not as much focus on the superstar because you've seen a lot about him though Josh is pretty good with this and, and, and they're going to want to talk to him a lot. I think from the top you look at it and say you don't want to get Joe Shaned in this, right?
D
Absolutely.
B
Brandon be knows them. They're friends. Was not a great experience for the Giants, obviously. And anytime you say things that can come back on you, you got to take a step back. I know they were fully aware of that when it was playing last year. That it's like, ooh, man. There's things you just keep in house because they. These cameras are in places.
C
Yeah.
B
That we're not.
C
Was that they're inside the building?
B
Yes, they are. Yes.
D
Was that the. In season one or was that the training camp one?
B
No, it wasn't training. It was the off season. Right. Because it was a lot of the interviews where it was like right before the draft, the draft, free agency. But it's still part of Hard Knocks. I mean, Hard Knocks has access.
D
Yes.
B
And so that part is something I, you know, you want to avoid any big things that happen. I think the Bills are a pretty savvy team when it comes to that.
D
I think the James Cook thing.
B
Yeah.
D
Could be something. But besides that, Mike, we were talking about it before we got on here, like, the Bills are a pretty buttoned up organization that they understand the standard is what it is. And I. I don't think that there will be anything. It's not like where it was with the Bears, where you're a dysfunctional team trying to not appear dysfunctional. But I think that the Bills are in a position where this won't be any more of a distraction than it is of just having cameras around 24 7.
B
So I was thinking of the players who will become big in this.
D
Yes.
B
Start with a. A starter, really good player who I think just is the guy is Dion.
C
Yeah.
B
Right.
C
Like, hands down.
B
And then I wanted to think, like, who's the guy they. They pick out? Right. Who's the guy that they say this guy is? Whether trying to make the team or has a different role.
C
Oh, okay. I was just. Ray. They have to do something on Ray Davis.
B
I would imagine you would think Ray would be good. I said to Dan, I like Alec Anderson. He's got a good personality. Could be one of those kind of guys. Now, I have no idea who. You know, there's different ways they focus on a player and then there'll be young guys. Right.
D
Yeah.
B
It could be the. The Praether, the draft pick, seventh rounder. Like that. They say, okay, let's see if you can make the team.
C
Joe Andreessen.
B
Oh, that's a good one. Buffalo Joe.
C
It's a good one.
D
Read longest 10 year bill.
C
How much do you think they'll talk about the Bill's Hallmark movie? Like, do you think they'll talk about that?
D
No.
C
You don't think so? I think it'll get mentioned.
B
It might get mentioned. It might get thrown.
D
Will it be filming?
C
No, I just think that I would. I feel.
D
Are they gonna pub up another product?
C
I mean, it's so different.
B
It is. It could come up in there depending on who it is. Somebody like Demar, because he's going to be in it. Well, Dion will too. Dion will probably edit Dion. I'm looking forward.
D
I do think that to your point, Jenna, where you're talking about, like, there are a lot of Josh Allen fans, I think there are a lot of people that don't understand the light heartedness and the little boy that Josh Allen is at heart. That I think that will come out on display because they will have the pranks, they'll have the deez nuts. Jokes like that will all be on full display for Josh, who is just so candidly funny on camera. Like, I think about all the stuff that he does with the Bills social media team. Yeah, he's unbelievable with them. And I can just see like a montage of all of that going around with Josh, whether it's the scooters and things like that that they do the card games. Oh, there will be an episode on Catan.
C
A thousand percent. Maybe chess too.
D
Yes.
B
I do think part of it is incorporated in that because he loves the whole dorm life thing. I don't know what it was like for him in Wyoming, but this man loves being at St. John. Nature in the dorms, beautiful campus.
C
I do think too you talk about Josh and his likability. I think for our industry, people always say, like, you know, you want to be someone that like you want to grab a beer with.
D
Yeah, like, that's like, that's the goal.
C
That's the goal. It's like someone you feel like you can chat with, you can hang out with, have fun, like. And I think Josh is a really good example of that. And I think that will become even more apparent after. After the summer.
B
He'll be a married man.
C
He will be.
B
Will be a married woman.
C
I will.
D
What will the other storylines? Make sure to comment in what your storylines. Will Hard Knocks grab onto that you can think of.
C
I'm just so sad though, because Matt Collins would have been perfect for Hard Knocks.
B
Yeah.
D
I wonder if he's been on one because he's bounced around.
C
Who's to say could have been Maybe.
D
Miami could have been Atlanta.
B
I don't know.
D
He's been a lot. He's been a lot because the Raiders run hard knocks. He was with the Raiders.
B
Yeah. You never know who they're going to grab. It could be Cam Lewis for all we know.
D
Yes.
B
He's got a good personality, too. Like you, you know. Oh, Maxwell Harrison.
D
Yes.
C
Yeah, I could see that.
B
Yeah.
C
I mean, the top pick from this year, just looking down the roster, if there's anyone else, it would be funny. That be like a Frank Gore junior.
B
Right. I mean, there's moments. It's like, yeah.
D
Yes.
C
I cut you off. I'm sorry.
D
And I lost my thought.
C
Nope.
D
Wow.
C
Grab it. Get it back.
B
Well, I think it's going to be fun. The first episode, I think it says August 5th is the first one debuts because camp starts in late July. So. Yeah, we'll see how it all plays out.
C
Yeah. I'm excited. I think it'll be cool. Some people think it's a distraction.
D
I think it's a distraction, but I. No more than any other media obligation.
B
Is it is during camp. Like, if it is, you don't want the.
D
In season one.
B
If it is something with, you know, what they're doing in the backfield, hold out. Any of those things that can sort of weigh on the whole thing. But I don't think so.
D
I thought of a star that'll be born.
C
K.J. ambler.
D
That was one of the guys we talked about, Bobby Babbage.
B
Oh, yeah. They always go for a coach like.
D
Him being miked up, screaming his head off constantly at practice.
B
Yeah.
D
Bobby Batch will be. Sorry. We thought this was going to be a slow podcast day. That was like I was joking on his draft day. And then it was just news and news and news.
C
Okay, more news because the Tush push did not receive enough votes to be banned. So there will be.
D
Dan Tushes will be pushed.
B
Yes.
D
In 2020.
C
You really love that.
D
I love it.
C
Yeah. I really love that.
D
Talking about pushing Tushes.
C
The Tush push remains for the season. I think it's. I think it will get banned at some point.
B
That's why. Here's the only reason I don't think it will. Goodell put the hard press on everybody. He doesn't lose very often. He's just going to sign a new contract for like a billion dollars.
C
That's why I'm saying.
B
But he did not win. And. And I think there's a point where unless something bad happens this year that he can go to it. And I'll go back to this. I do not understand why the Bills had a problem with the play. It is a huge advantage. I know that the chief stopped him in a big moment. It was a bad call and all those things. But Josh Allen is a difference maker in many ways and he is normally very, very good at that play. And I keep saying this, the Chiefs don't run it, the Ravens don't run it, the Bengals don't run it. The Dolphins don't run it. Like it is a big advantage for the advantage.
D
Yep.
B
And they're going to run it this year. They can say whatever they want. They are going to run it because the play works.
D
I think, Jen, it's your point. I think this year was the hard, no pun intended, push to ban it and that because it didn't go through at the competition committee. And then they're like, well, hang on, we'll get more votes later.
C
We'll table it.
D
Right? And then it was also today it was like, we're going to hold a special committee and we're going to get all the coaches out and it'll just be the owners in Goodell. And it was, and my tweet was like, good, get all the football guys out of the room to make the football decision. Like, what are we talking about here? There needs to be a substantial change whether they find evidence more of injuries or another, God forbid, a serious injury happens off of it to change the play. Because I think at this point lines are drawn in the sand and the teams that don't want it to be banned don't want it to be banned. And I don't know how much more you're pulling out of it. And the fact of the matter is is that because it went on for so long and it was like, well, we'll just keep waiting. It's like when you're reviewing a play and they're reviewing it for seven, eight minutes and they're like, well, was his knee down? Let's find another camera angle. At some point the play has to stand.
B
Yeah.
D
If you can't find the evidence for player safety, that's what they tried to play. What they should have done was it's a boring play. It looks terrible. For entertainment wise, we don't want the play.
B
Except what doesn't work for that is the kickoff is a terribly boring play. The kneel down is a terribly boring play. What they should have said was we think it's an unfair advantage to push a player or pull a player. And teams do that they did not go down that route and they. There was a narrative out there that Jason Kelsey was hurt by the play physically and that's why he retired. So didn't Jeffrey Lurie drag him down to the meetings?
D
What a play.
B
Stepped in. Tush pushed the league.
D
If he was already on the Eagles, Mount Rushmore. Like he's out there lobbying to be like, this is the play that we created. Like, you're not getting rid of this.
B
And can I get my line in here now? Give me this here for a second. The Green Bay packers, the soft team that was once Vince Lombardi, are the ones that put this up and they didn't get it. At the same time, the league is now allowing flag football playing in the Olympics. Just send the Green Bay packers to play for the Olympic team as the flag football team. How's that work?
C
Did you see the Eagles post of push on was against the Packers?
B
Of course it was.
D
It was very good.
C
Very well done. I do think at some point it'll get banned and I think it's because. And obviously it's not going to be this year. But I.
B
Man, they just tried.
C
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying.
B
Yeah.
C
I don't. I don't.
B
Other things to worry about.
C
But as I say. But I can see with how hard they essentially tried to make that happen of it getting banned. To me it's not an if. It is a win.
B
And one other quick thing. The thing that didn't go through because Detroit pulled their proposal.
C
Yes.
B
Would have made for the better record team, not necessarily the division winner. I say it ain't broke, don't fix it. I love the fact you're playing for the division title. The team that gets screwed one year, maybe the next year gets the benefit from it.
D
Yep.
B
And I like the idea of your playing for a division title. And I think it's hard sometimes when you see the big disparity of the team was four games ahead of him. It feels funny. But man, you play in a tougher division, you win it by a game and another team has a better record because they played in a weaker division and you lose the home field. I don't know if I agree with that. So I'm glad they left it if.
D
They were going to do that. Get rid of divisions and everybody like, you like divisions. Like, what's the point then of having you like the rivalries, you love the hate.
B
What's the first thing Sean says? Goal number one every year win the Division to get in the playoffs, but also to get a home.
D
Home game. I got. It was one of those things where it's like, if you're going to get rid of that, it's like, then kibosh divisions because you're just playing for whatever.
C
I don't know. I didn't think.
D
I. I was just like Jenna Contrarian today.
C
I just. I felt like. I hear you, and just sometimes when there is the huge discrepancy between teams where you're like, it does look weird.
B
Hang on one second. Tip your head back for a second.
C
I have the tag on this. You can win a Janicatrill award hat. I know.
D
It's brand new right out of the box.
C
I got to tell you guys. So for our Pilates video today, I was getting ready, and I realized I put my leggings on inside out.
D
Oh.
C
I was like, for the love of God, man.
D
Did you get dressed in the dark?
C
No, I wish I. I was like, wow.
B
So most of you watching know this. We'll get to it. The Plotties video, it's based on us picking the games during the year, and then we can pick a punishment for whoever finishes last. I finished last. Dan was a great sport to join in, and Jenna laughed at us. So you'll see that video in a little bit. But speaking of the year.
D
Well, also, I just want to make one point. The Pilates video you have to watch on the YouTube channel because there's no point in putting it in the audio version.
B
Right.
D
So we will have the audio version. Make sure that if you're. If you're a person, like your friend that only likes the. Dave that only likes the audio side, make sure to, like, comment and subscribe to the YouTube channel. That's where you'll see the Pilates torture.
C
I thought it was great.
B
Yes.
D
I thought the most telling thing was before we get to the draft was I was like, I'm going to go work out after. And then I was like, I'm going to the gym to go in the sauna. The cold tub.
B
Because I will say is I have a lot of thoughts on it.
C
Okay, we'll do the travel draft.
B
All right. So now I get to take over.
C
Yeah.
B
All right.
C
Let's do the torch.
B
For those who don't know, we traveled for the TV station and for Buffalo. Plus, to every game, we go to the home games. We all go to the home games. And there's a, you know, a little bit of money involved in traveling all the time. So it's two of us. So me being the veteran sports director, I go to the games and one of Dan or Jenna goes with me. Sometimes it's all of us. Like when the Bills make the super bowl this year, but in this case, it's two people. So we break down the schedule and Dan and Jenna do it as a draft. They have their big boards. They are ready to go this year. Jenna has the first pick.
C
Yes.
B
She is on the clock. So you guys know the schedule, right? Atlanta, Carolina, obviously, the division games are the. Some of the highlights. Cleveland, Pittsburgh.
C
Just to clarify, we are not picking the home games right now.
D
We are not picking the home games. The home games are on a week by week basis.
B
Yeah. And it's more. Right. But we'll all be at the home anyhow.
D
It's just a matter of who's on the field and who's in the press box listening to Mike.
B
Yeah. So I have some notes even hear that here. Oh, I heard it. I just don't pay attention. I have some notes here on the games, but I'm very excited to get started with this. So without further ado, we go to Jana Cottrell being on the clock for the first pick in the 2025 Buffalo plus Bills travel draft.
D
I just want one comment before weak draft. Like, this is. This is like the NFL draft this year.
C
It was like he got two.
D
It was like. It was like, this draft class is ass. Like, this is like.
C
You mean you don't want to go to Cleveland?
B
You wait till next year.
D
And again, a lot of this also has to do with friends. You're visiting people. You kind of take it also as a moment to. To get to see people and to experience places you've never been to. And it was one of the ones where I'm sitting here going, we have a good friend in Cleveland and my wife's like, you want to go to Cleveland, right? It was like, yeah, it's beautiful in December.
C
Like, I know the weather. Yeah.
D
So I really. My big board is broken down into, like, there's three games in the top tier. There ain't much else.
B
Well, last year, the entire sports world was rocked when Dan went off the board and went Baltimore over Seattle over Seattle. Big pick for him. Shocking.
D
I'm nervous I'm not going to get my pick.
B
So let's get this thing started. Is the pick is in. Jenna, go ahead with the first pick.
C
With the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Travel Draft, Atlanta for Dan Fates.
B
What? So, Janet, wait a minute. You are deferring the selection.
C
Atlanta for you.
D
I'm so confused.
C
You're going to Atlanta.
D
Oh, sweet.
C
So, yes. So the.
B
So you flip flop picks, but it's going to Jenna now.
D
So I like ran up on stage, like the clock ran out.
B
Now let everybody know why you want to go to Atlanta.
D
I would like to go. Hopefully the Braves are playing a postseason baseball game.
C
So my thought process was last year you could not go to Seattle because it was your birthday weekend. So I got to go on the trip that I really wanted to go to. Dan is a huge Braves fan and so I wanted you to have that same opportunity to go someplace you really wanted to go to.
D
It was 1:1, I figured.
C
So last night Dan texted me and was like, hey, is there any games you can't do? Just so we can be like very.
D
Clear because of conflicts.
C
Yeah, yeah, no, I know.
D
Well, it's not like, hey, like we'll.
C
No, no, yeah, yeah, because of schedule conflicts. And then he did mention he's like, yeah, there's one game I really want to go to. Just didn't respond to that text.
D
No, I said there's one game I. You don't want to go to.
C
Oh, I read it wrong.
D
Okay. I may have typed it wrong. Dyslexic.
B
So I couldn't respond to either one.
C
Whatever it was responded. But yes. So.
B
So Dan, if you want to. If you want to say for yourself, but Jenna is now going to make her pick.
C
Yes.
B
So we will say this is the number two pick.
C
Yes.
D
Do I still get the first pick next year?
C
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
D
Okay.
C
Yeah. Yeah.
D
That's very sweet of you.
C
Yeah, I try. Well, I just know how much.
D
That's my gift. That's all I wanted. She was talking to me today. About what? What is she going to get me to officiate the wedding? I said nothing. This is the game.
B
This is it.
C
Well, there's going to be.
B
Yes.
D
That's all.
B
And don't worry, while we're in Atlanta, we can watch the Phillies play in the playoffs.
C
Oh, okay. Question. What was your. How much did you think you weren't going to get Atlanta?
D
I thought there was a chance you would go some. A different place.
C
Okay.
D
But Atlanta was. Was one one and this is.
B
Happens to be the games on my birthday.
D
But Monday night.
B
Monday night, yeah. Where are we in baseball? October 13th. Around that time. 12th and 13th. Is that. That's probably.
D
Divisional round.
B
Yeah.
D
So I mean, it would be threading a needle.
B
Well, because it would have be in Atlanta. I mean, it'd be cool for you to be. We'd go somewhere. You could watch the braids if it was. Absolutely. If they were on the road, but that would be cool.
C
Also, my plan is we'll just be in Atlanta for the 2028 Super bowl, so. Yeah, the Bills will be there.
D
Awesome.
C
They'll be winning their third straight.
B
Congratulations.
D
Have you done Atlanta before?
C
I've never been there, no.
D
Wow.
C
It is on my list for sure.
B
It's so funny. We talk about these places. I've been there a lot of times, including a bill. Super bowl, so. Wow. Yeah.
C
Yeah, they lost that one. All right. I'm gonna go with the number two overall pick.
B
The pick is in.
C
Yes. Carolina. Never been there.
B
Wow.
C
Want to go there? Carolina in October now.
B
Wow.
C
Dan is shooketh last.
B
Last.
C
You did. Is that where you didn't want to go?
D
That's the game I didn't want to go.
C
Wow.
D
You and me and why didn't I want to go there?
C
Oh, it's your birthday weekend. I didn't even think about it.
B
That is Sunday, October 26th, and my birthday's on Monday. Three quarters of Western New York now lives there.
C
Yes. I just. Never again. I really want to go to all the stadiums and I've never been to Carolina Stadium. Now. I have been down.
B
Oh, you went down.
C
I went down for the Bills joint practice. Was that Spartan?
D
Spartanburg. It was 120.
C
So hot.
B
Yeah.
C
I remember. We had to. Josh was on the other side of the field. I had to. I was. There was just me there, so I was just doing camera and reporting. Had to sprint to the other side of the field to interview Josh after. And I was sweating so much afterwards. One of the other camera member like, are you okay? I was like, that's embarrassing. But it was so hot.
B
Yeah.
C
So hot.
D
Wow.
C
Yeah.
B
Carolina, who has the next pick now?
D
It's me, technically.
C
No, it would technically be me.
D
You're right.
C
Yeah.
D
You would have this pick because technically.
C
That'S so technically, you should have.
B
Well, actually, you should have swapped with them for the number one pick next year.
C
That's all right. You know what?
B
You were the New England Patriots. You blew the number one.
C
No, no, no. This is not.
D
You're right, because that's pick one and then pick two. You're on. Yeah. You would have the third pick. So I am ever gonna pick.
C
Hey, you got your top dog.
D
I did.
B
All right.
C
Also. Well, I didn't. I don't. You're right. I guess. I guess I took. Technically. Could have technically again. I technically could have brokered a deal.
B
Yeah.
C
To take the number one pick next year, but that felt a little.
B
That's a little bad karma.
C
Yeah. I don't know. It was a little. You can't be saying you're a good friend and then also, like trying to, you know, pull one over on someone.
D
I'm still rattled.
C
All right, I am going. Houston.
D
That was number two on my board.
C
Yeah.
B
Houston.
C
Houston. Yes.
B
That is Thursday, November 20th, 8:15. So two of the night games. The two night games off the board, right? That is the two night games. That is a Thursday.
C
Yes.
B
Yes. Dan is well aware of, I believe, a place to play poker there. And it was number two. Not gonna.
D
Yes.
B
The sports bars.
D
The all time story. That was. We were trying to find a sports bar and let's just say it was the 2019 playoff game. The crazy Houston game.
B
Yes.
D
Epic night working with Mike trying to find a sports bar to watch the end of the Tom Brady era in New England. He lost to the Titans. We're trying to get out of there to go find a game. And the most politically correct way I can say this is Mike's like, just put in. We've told this story, I think, before, but let's go find a sports bar. Every sports bar that we went to.
B
Said sports bar was a strip club.
D
There were polls. Yes, there were polls. And I was actually just telling this story to my family at Taylor's. At Taylor's baptism.
B
Perfect baptism story.
C
Did you tell it in the church?
D
It got to the point when it was. That's the all time line of the last place we went to where Mike said. I was like, mike, there's security guards outside. This is not a place we want to go.
B
She kept talking, talking and talking.
D
And then Mike, she being the security guard from here to here, Mike just turns around and goes, come on, Dan, she's useless.
B
Well, she was. Okay, all right, so Houston's off the board.
C
Okay.
D
That was my number two pick.
B
Dan is now on the board for pick number four of the Buffalo plus draft.
D
This is where some gamesmanship comes in. With the fourth overall pick in the 2025 Buffalo plus travel draft, I will take New York.
C
Inter. Okay.
B
Dan takes that. That is best friend.
D
Steve is in New York. I will get to also.
B
Oh, God, I gotta hear all about Jalen Brunson.
D
You do. You do have to. Also New York in September. Fine. Yeah, fine.
B
The only road game of the first five for the Bills.
D
I like the fact that it's also one o' clock. Will be at a Buffalo Wild Wings by 8:30.
C
Pizza Caucus.
D
Pizza Caucus. It is the one.
C
We are beautiful that time of year.
B
The city that never sleeps.
D
I was already telling Steve I go. It's pretty high up on my board. I'm going to try and get New York, so.
B
All right.
C
Okay. There's. That's not shocking to me.
B
All right. We are now. So still, according to Mike's best available, I have Pittsburgh, Cleveland, New England. Always been a Jenna favorite.
C
Yes.
B
But the number one team still left on the board, the Miami Dolphins in November. Jenna is on the clock.
C
I am going with Pittsburgh. I've never been there. I've never been there. I want to go to that stadium.
B
Wow. Sunday, November 30th of 425 games.
C
So that is back to back weeks because it's Houston and then Pittsburgh and that is right after Thanksgiving. But that's okay.
D
I didn't think she would pull the trigger on Pittsburgh.
B
Yes.
C
Really? That's fair.
D
I didn't know.
B
Things got a little hairy there for a while.
D
The fact of the matter is, is that I've done Pittsburgh a bunch. I was there for the preseason. Love Pittsburgh, the city. I like the 425 starts. Those are the big games. But I. I was. It was a little bit of a game of chicken.
C
Yeah.
D
I didn't know if you would do it.
C
I. I just. I've not been there. It's very close and I feel like I should.
D
Good drive.
C
I should go.
D
Great. I think Pittsburgh's awesome city.
B
So we're talking. Yeah. We have a lot of driving this year. We drive five hours and change or less. It's just easier. So we drive into Jersey. Driving to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, New England. Yeah.
C
A lot of driving this area.
D
Okay.
B
All right.
D
Sixth pick of the 2025 Buffalo plus travel draft. Dan picks Miami.
B
I knew you were going Miami.
C
Now, full disclosure, I can't go to Miami.
D
That's why I didn't take it last round. That's why I didn't take it last.
C
I have. We have a friend's wedding on Friday and then a different friend's wedding on Saturday.
B
Wow.
C
Yeah. Back to back weddings.
B
Cost you some money.
C
They're thankfully both here. Oh, they're both in Rochester. Okay.
B
So that is a Sunday one o' clock game. November 9th. That is.
C
That is. Honestly, that would be top.
B
Yeah.
C
Top three for sure.
B
Elite travel game for Bill's fans that.
D
Time of the year.
B
November. It's not the holiday. And weather will be great there in November. So there we Go. All right. So left on the board now.
D
Okay.
B
Is Cleveland and New England.
C
Okay. I'm obviously going to take new New England family there.
D
It's not your. Oh, it is your pick.
B
Yeah.
C
First you are really struggling.
B
We're going to. The next pick is in.
C
Okay.
D
I was like trying to turn in a card.
C
Yeah.
D
And I honestly.
C
Technically it's my pick.
D
Yeah. I feel like I haven't made a lot of picks.
C
Yeah, that's fair. You should be used to not making the decisions.
D
That is very true.
B
But some.
C
That's how we women work.
B
You don't make the picks, but somehow you got Atlanta, New York and Miami.
C
Yeah. You should be very done pretty well.
B
You're better when Jenna picks for you.
C
Yeah, exactly. I am going with New England. I go every year. Have family there. So special to my heart.
B
And these are back to back games.
C
And Michael and go to Fed Hill. Go to that Italian place we like elite. There is elite Italian food in Providence.
B
Yeah.
C
And Portuguese food.
B
And we can see that same waitress.
C
She'll definitely be there.
D
Say hello to that mass hole Giardi for. For me when you.
B
Yes.
C
Yeah.
D
Giardi was. Was part. And the. I've. All I've ever heard about is this Italian food. So.
C
It's so good.
B
Yeah, it's good. It's very good.
C
Yeah.
D
Everything I said about Cleveland, I. I love Cleveland.
B
So the last pick is in.
D
Mr.
B
Irrelevant is cle December 21, 1 o' clock game.
D
There is a casino. There is the Winking Lizard is a good bar. They've got some good craft breweries.
C
I would say Cleveland actually has a very good food.
B
Where's that bar we went in Cleveland? That was in an old bank building.
D
Oh, yeah.
C
I thought that was Pittsburgh.
B
No, that was Cleveland with Doss took us there.
C
Yeah, there is. I think there is one of those. No, that's a church. Sorry.
D
Yeah. Pittsburgh is the church brew.
C
Pittsburgh. I don't. I don't like that personally.
D
Feels just sacrilegious.
B
Pretty good though.
D
Yeah.
C
See, I'm not a beer. I would rather have a cocktail.
D
The strip district is cool in Pittsburgh. You'll like it.
C
Yeah. I mean I have been to Pittsburgh before. I've just never been to that stadium.
B
Yeah.
D
Gotcha.
C
But yeah. All right. Overall thoughts?
D
I think I got good value and again, thank you very much.
C
Yes, you got good value.
B
Very nice of her.
D
It was very nice.
B
The other thing is next year for the draft, there is. There could be some tanking going on for the picks because next year is Vegas Green Bay, Denver, Minnesota, depending on the time of the year, could be awesome place to go and go into the dome. Anyhow.
D
There could be bribes being made.
C
Yeah.
D
There could be back challenge channel deals.
C
Being made and probably international. Dan will have probably six more kids by then, though.
D
Okay, so finishing it off, Jenna has Houston, Pittsburgh, New England, Cleveland or Carolina. I have. Dan has Atlanta, Miami, New York, Cleveland. I only got one flight. Sweet.
C
I got two. Carolina. Well, yeah, Carolina and Houston. Yeah, I like Houston too.
B
Direct flights to Atlanta.
D
Yep.
B
In Carolina.
D
Yep.
B
Connection to Miami. Usually there's ways to work around that.
D
Yeah, that's my only fun.
B
Yeah.
D
No, I got two. Atlanta and Miami. Yeah, my brain's fried from Pilates.
C
That's okay. Well, it's a perfect segue. So we did Pilates today.
B
That wasn't Pilates.
C
That was Pilates. I don't know what you. Mike's a hater.
B
No, I'm not a hater hater. I am beaten up.
C
What is it? Battered and bruised. Is that what Bob does? Sports always says?
B
So we picked the games every week. I finished last and we did the payoff on.
D
Jenna won.
B
And Jenna won. She got to pick because she's mean. She wanted to torture me or you? Whoever was last. And so it was me. But Dan joined in.
C
Well, I also joined in, but my thing was, I feel like a lot of times, like, oh, Pilates with your little three pound weights. Like, I wanted you to see that it is challenging.
B
Oh, I know it's challenging.
D
Yeah. It was weird. My weights changed colors midway through the workout. I don't know how that happened. I knew I was in trouble when I was very sore and they were like, that was the warm up.
B
Yeah.
D
And I was like, yeah. Well, for what?
C
Yes.
D
Without further ado, I was gonna say.
C
Wait, just to set it up. We want to thank everyone at embody.
B
Yep.
C
Molly Flaherty. Alex, who led us today, was so much fun. Really appreciate you letting us use the studio. And like, we. I know. I very much appreciate it. I know Mike and Dan appreciate it. And I also know that they're.
B
It's a cool place. It was good. It was very good. But it was also painful in many ways.
C
So please, please enjoy. Thank you again, Molly. Embody, Alex. We really appreciate it. Embody is my spot, so it was cool to do a video there too.
B
I will say Alex is elite. She's leaving town. I hope she has a long career doing this because she's awesome at it.
C
Yeah. It was just excellent.
B
Yeah. And I just felt like we Were misled a little bit. What the class was.
C
It was.
D
Yeah, it was just. It was very humbling.
B
So Dan and I were talking because I left my water bottle in the car, and Dan put his to side, and I was thinking, like, oh, yeah, we'll do this a few minutes. You'll say, get some water.
D
That's exactly what I thought.
B
Oh, no.
D
Oh, no.
B
She was on it.
C
That's like, her classes, though. There's no set water break. It's not.
B
I know, but I normally would have, because, you know. And by the way, any of you people. Any people, men, women, whoever take classes? You know, I take some classes. It's usually in a large group. Like, there's a lot of people you can hide. There was three of us, and we had a camera and microphones on us, so there was nowhere to go. Dan did hide behind me, and I hid behind him a few times.
D
We went to the bar. I was like, she's not looking.
C
The bar is tough.
B
I said, I tweeted that. Like, when somebody says, let's go to the bar, that's usually a good thing.
D
Very.
B
This is a rre.
C
It's hard. It is very challenging.
B
But it was. It was fun that we did as a team, and I appreciate you guys joining in.
D
Hope you enjoyed the content. Again, make sure if you're just skipping around the podcast, you could only see the pilates torture on the Buffalo Plus YouTube channel. So, like, comment and subscribe. Yeah, Jenna's gonna cut that up. I think you've earned the right to.
C
Yeah.
D
Embarrass us.
B
Yeah.
D
Just a little bit more. I don't understand. Like, my brain can process what the moves are, and my body just was like, it doesn't move like that.
B
And especially since we had. I had not experienced that specific class in that form as quickly as we're going and, you know, the whole thing. So Jenna's just like, boom, boom, boom.
C
Yeah.
B
And we're like, what? What?
C
Well, it's a lot more coordination than you would expect.
B
Yeah.
C
But I think that also ties into, like, the body control, the balance. Like, you do need some flexibility, too. And that's why I love it as a workout.
D
And I have none of it.
B
By the way. I want to add that I have a daughter who was a professional dancer. Quite obviously, she got none of that.
C
Yeah, no, like, Courtney, very accomplished ballet dancer.
B
Right.
C
And none of that from you.
B
How much time do I spend on the bar?
D
Like, how many times?
C
Wild.
D
But how many times we text each other in the morning? Like, hey, what are you doing? Going to the gym. Me, too. Going to the gym. Like, we work out, right? Three to five times a week. Yeah, but when I go to the gym, it's like a set. Check Twitter, take some time, fire off some hot takes, do another tweet, then another set to a couple exercises. I have bananas. That was bananas.
B
Did you think I would have a form on the ballet bar?
C
No, just in general, though. I. There are some times where I was like, I. I. I don't know.
B
Could you see him?
C
Yeah, I could see both of you. There were times where I was falling over because I was laughing so hard.
D
It's not. It was not good.
C
So next year when we do all.
D
Bar, the bar is whoever loses 15 minutes.
B
Let me tell you something. Here's what it is. In the future, the bar is closed.
C
Okay.
B
That's fair.
C
Do we want to do credit to me?
D
Sure.
C
Okay. You want to start?
B
Well, credit to me is I survived the class today. That's what I was going to say. I've been thinking about this. I will have to say I brought this up. Jenna's like, hey, we're going to do Pilates. So she told me. So I went to my gym, and I started doing Pilates classes. I didn't know this, and I did a few of them. Now, this is Pilates mat, which is very different, and I kind of like it, and I think it's great for me. And so I'm doing it. So credit to me and the wonderful instructors who are not yelling at me. I started doing that because of the bet. I wasn't going to say anything. I was like, I gotta figure this out a little bit.
D
He was training well a little bit. So I didn't.
B
So I was like, I don't know what I'm doing. And then I got in the room, and I'm like, what the Is this? Because. Yeah. So anyhow, so I started doing that, and it's. It's good. It's a nice mix of the other stuff I try to do.
C
Yeah. Yeah.
D
Credit to. Maybe again, a lot of mine seemingly end up on my litter of children that I have shout out to, like, credit to, like, preschool teachers and, like, daycare providers. Like, I don't know how they do it. My daughter is in love with her preschool teacher. I picked her up. She didn't want to play in the playground on Tuesday. It's my day to watch my girls. And when I drop off Shane at preschool that we pick her up, and she always wants to play in the Playground. Well, I brought our baby with us. Taylor. And all she wanted to do was show her teacher her brand new baby. Not brand new like Taylor's six months old now. But all she want to do and like the teacher had to do bus duty and all things that. So Shane just sat there patiently and then again just talked and waited and was so patient with kids. Like there are times like where you're with children. It's a lot and that's their job. So shout out to the daycare people that give us time. Insanity as parents and to teachers out there. My wife's a sixth grade math teacher. But teaching fourth and fifth, five year olds, four and five year olds is nuts.
C
The patience you have to have for that angels can't even imagine.
B
I would say teaching any level takes incredible.
D
Actually that's true.
B
Like 10th graders.
C
They're mean. I'm so punk.
D
16 year old kids that think they're gonna go to the show when they're.
C
Was that you?
D
Yeah.
C
Yeah.
D
I just say at a hockey game at night, you just didn't care about class. And I'm just spewing hot takes like.
C
Like 16 year old girls scare me.
B
Yeah.
D
Ryan scares me. We love all of our kids the same. I saw a reel that was like, I love all my kids the same. There is one that I'm scared of.
B
Yeah.
D
And one that I don't want to upset. That is our.
B
My middle child stay that way for know, a long time.
D
And she's teething teeth. Figure it out. Like figure it out. You are ruining my sweet middle child.
B
Let me tell you something. There's a few things that will adjust your life with those three girls.
D
I'm not there yet.
B
Yeah. When that happens.
D
I'm their best friend now. But you've always said that it will shift at some point.
B
At a certain point you just get dumber and dumber and then it comes back.
D
Yeah.
B
So don't worry. Eventually.
C
Yeah. I feel like that's. Yeah. I will say to Ryan's credit at the baptism, like where they dip the baby.
B
The baptismal font. Is that what you mean? God.
D
Holy water.
C
Yes, the holy water. It was the shape of a kiddie pool. Like I was like, I gotta give it to my girl. She can identify shapes. Like she was trying to get in there.
D
Father Mike's trying to baptize Taylor and Ryan is just trying to do everything she can to crawl up there and going bath, bath.
C
It's like it is the shape of a kiddie pool. I don't blame her.
D
Yeah.
C
Okay. My credit to me is obviously, it's a long weekend coming up, a lot of plans for people, barbecues, whatever. Traveling. We're moving. My best friend, Molly. And so credit to Zach for being the guy that he is. It's like, all right, we're ready. We'll load up the boxes. We'll move up and down. She's the upstairs apartment, both ways, so.
B
So, Molly, you realize this is the last time.
C
Yeah. She also did hire movers for, like, most of her stuff, but we were. I was. We were saying I was most of the bank.
D
Did you volunteer or were you asked?
C
No, I volunteered.
D
You're a huge.
C
And then I was like, zach. And he was like, yes, that's fine. I will help. But credit to him because he is a saint, because he's like, oh, what are we doing this weekend?
D
I was. I was gonna kind of give Molly a shot. Like, you can't ask at some point over, like, 21. You can't ask friends.
C
She did not ask. She was not trying to be like, hey, guys, I'll get you a pizza.
D
No, but we all make enough money at least.
C
I didn't tell Zach till today.
B
Oh.
C
Because he was like. He was like, what are we doing for this weekend? And I was like, we're helping Molly. We're helping Molly move. But he took it in stride. He's like, okay, sure. It's like, you are a saint. Thank you, sir. Yeah. Can't imagine.
D
Hell of a pod.
C
What a pod stuff. Yeah. Hashtag content. All right. Also, I said this as a tweet, but I will personally invite HBO Hard Knocks and showcase them to Pittsford Dairy. So the offer still stands.
D
Sean's taking them there.
C
Oh, for sure.
B
Oh, yeah, yeah.
C
What do we think? He's going chocolate vanilla milkshake.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
There's not a dumb. Like, what's the most.
B
Like, oh, that's gonna be big. That'll be. Yeah.
D
Vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. Chocolate syrup.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
D
The most basic ice cream order possible.
C
Yeah, yeah.
B
Who knows?
D
He may be little. He may be getting whipped cream and a cherry.
C
