Tim Miller
Hey everybody. Tim Miller from the Bulwark here.
Co-host/Commentator
There has been this flurry of videos being taken by local journalists and citizens on the streets in Minneapolis. And they've delivered us these just horrifying scenes of confrontations between ICE and CBP agents and the people of Minneapolis. People are just trying to live their lives and do their jobs. Citizens, as we're about to see Uber drivers, people trying to just get their doordash. And in addition to confrontations with protesters.
Tim Miller
Who are within their rights in a.
Co-host/Commentator
Free country to document what agents of the state are doing. And, and these videos have like piled up one after another, particularly since during a good shooting, there is, this is.
Tim Miller
Anecdotal evidence, I think, from those videos.
Co-host/Commentator
That things have intensified. There is actual reported evidence that, you.
Tim Miller
Know, more agents are being sent to Minneapolis.
Co-host/Commentator
And that might be part of the reason that these things are escalating. I know for a fact here in New Orleans, you know, both the local media and for my friends who have employees have heard that, you know, essentially a lot of the ICE agents, CBP agents that were deployed here have been now redirected to Minnesota. So the result of this is more confrontation, more harassing of citizens.
Tim Miller
And it's let's just be honest.
Co-host/Commentator
This is a powder keg. It's a powder keg that's going to lead to more terrible results. And, and I think that, you know, it is pretty telling that after these thugs shot and killed a woman, if.
Tim Miller
You took them at their word, and.
Co-host/Commentator
This really just was a tragedy where.
Tim Miller
It was, you know, things move very quickly.
Co-host/Commentator
And this agent thought that he was, you know, that she was going to ram him and thought that his life was at risk. And so he fired his weapon and killed her.
Tim Miller
You could imagine a different world where after that the agents federal government would.
Co-host/Commentator
Want to do everything they could to de escalate, right? To say that we are going to.
Tim Miller
Try to de escalate.
Co-host/Commentator
We're focusing on going after the criminals in the city, et cetera, et cetera. They've not done that. They've done the opposite. They're menacing and harassing people. And we can now see the video evidence of all this.
Tim Miller
So I'm sure, like many of you.
Co-host/Commentator
These videos are coming across on social media. It's hard to kind of separate what's real and what's new from other types of stuff that people are putting into your social media feed. So I wanted to go through a couple of these with you and just react to the terrible images that we're seeing in Minneapolis.
Tim Miller
So first up here, this is just.
Co-host/Commentator
Hours after Renee Goode was killed by an ICE officer. Ahmed Bin Hassan was, who is an Uber driver at the Minneapolis airport when the Border Patrol agent knocked on his window. Let's take a look at what happened.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
It says U.S. border Patrol. This is not the border border, the Canada border or the Mexican border. If you were from this country, you.
Co-host/Commentator
Know, I'm an immigration officer.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
What do you mean, if I'm from this country?
Tim Miller
I can hear you not having same accent as me.
Sponsor Voice / Sam
That's why.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
Oh, so you're going by accents now? I want to know where. Where were you born is that accent?
Sponsor Voice / Sam
Have you.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
Have you heard the Israeli accent? Have you heard the European accent?
Co-host/Commentator
This is tough. This guy is just doing his job. And now we've got agents of the state demanding IDs and judging people based on their accent. I don't know, you know, how, how that's supposed to work. And a country of immigrants. I'm down here in New Orleans. Got a lot of people, dumb Southern accents. We got Cajuns down here at the Creole. The French, the new immigrants are coming into this country. That's not what America is. I need to see your papers. If I don't like your accent. Ahmed said that he knew when they came up that they were being targeted. That's the Uber yard, he told the Intercept. And the majority of people that hustle from there are men and women of the Somali immigrant population. So I want to play another video where Ahmed goes to tell the agent exactly what his real story is instead of being judged by his accent.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
A fucking engineer graduated from Washington State University, $70,000 student loans, and I'm doing Uber. You know what that means? I'd rather make an honest day's living. I don't go harassing people at work. Dude, what the hell is that? All of you guys need psychiatric checkups. This is not normal. Why do you go to people's workplaces to harass them?
Co-host/Commentator
Hell, yeah. I love that dude, that other guy. Why are you an engineer?
Tim Miller
I don't know why. Why are you in a balaclava hassling people?
Co-host/Commentator
What is this?
Tim Miller
Like, what?
Co-host/Commentator
You're in the Uber yard. You're obviously not going after any violent criminals.
Tim Miller
Why can we only just see the.
Co-host/Commentator
Whites of your eyes like you're robbing a bank? It gets much worse from there. I wanted to start with, with Ahmed because he bested those goons, but I want to now turn to video. I'm sure many of you seen from a gas station at Minnesota, and this is. And the behavior here on behalf of the agents is despicable. Let's.
Sponsor Voice / Sam
Watch this.
Co-host/Commentator
Watch this.
Tim Miller
This is unbelievable. Like, you don't. You don't see regular police acting like this. This is not regular behavior, you know?
Co-host/Commentator
And you have the first ice goon.
Tim Miller
Like, push the guy and then follow him and tackle him to the ground. And then as a woman approaches, they're in the pink. In the pink jacket. You have a separate guy push her. Let's. Can we just watch that again? Let's watch. Let's. Let's go back to that part.
Co-host/Commentator
Watch this woman in the pink here, okay?
Tim Miller
Smokes him, and then this woman in the pink comes back up. Watch this. That guy pushes her. What are you doing? What are you doing? Why? Then he's threatening and he threatens the media with what I assume is pepper.
Co-host/Commentator
Spray or some equivalent.
Tim Miller
This is something that you expect to see in a third world country. These mass agents and fatigues pushing and bullying people, pushing women with no evident target.
Co-host/Commentator
He gets upset at the fact that it looks like he's being videoed, and he smokes the guy and then tackles.
Tim Miller
Him to the ground. And they push a woman for good measure. I mean, I Guess they should be.
Co-host/Commentator
Happy that they didn't get shot in the face three times like Renee. Good.
Tim Miller
Let's move on. This is again, all of this is.
Co-host/Commentator
In, you know, somewhere in the Minneapolis area. This one's actually in richfield. That's a 17 year old working at target. We've blurred his face since he's underage. But again, this is somebody that's just doing their job at target. And here's what the ICE and CBP agents did to him.
House Resident / Witness
Where is some paperwork for that?
Tim Miller
Where's the they doing on target?
Co-host/Commentator
They do it on target.
House Resident / Witness
Minneapolis.
Sponsor Voice / Sam
Hey, hey.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
Stand up.
House Resident / Witness
Where are their boys?
Sponsor Voice / Sam
Hey.
House Resident / Witness
Anybody else going to ask where the the wars are? You guys don't have a right.
Co-host/Commentator
He's a u. S. Citizen, supposedly. According to reports they. They dumped him off at a walmart later in the day. US citizen, 17 year old getting pushed around doing his job at a target. I assume he was also targeted because you kind of hear there he has a little accent.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
This guy right here. They let him out of the vehicle.
Co-host/Commentator
They tortured him.
Sponsor Voice / Sam
This guy.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
This guy right here?
Sponsor Voice / Sam
Yeah.
Ahmed Bin Hassan
You okay, man?
Tim Miller
No, I'm not okay, bro.
Co-host/Commentator
These guys are just, you know, I guess using the, using the, using the Kavanaugh rule. They're just going around and racially targeting people. Targeting people based on their, the way that they speak. Targeting people based on their mood, their whim and, and. And roughhousing them, manhandling them. Truly, truly insane.

Tim Miller
Let's continue. This one was probably the most chilling.
Co-host/Commentator
That I've seen and it's because it's come from inside a house. And what happens in this situation is a doordash driver is being followed by ice. I guess they go to deliver the meal and, and the person whose house that they're going to and they get let into the house like please let me in the house, these guys are coming for me. And, and the person is in the house is like asking if they have a warrant. They don't. And so she is panicked. Inside her house she has a little baby. She is now protecting somebody that is, you know, being chased by Trump's little mini gestapo. And outside her house where her baby is, you've got people with guns like pointing at the house and she's panicked. So let's just watch to open the door.
House Resident / Witness
And they have a warrant. They don't have a warrant. They said they'll get one. Okay, if they get one then they're gonna break the door down, that's fine. But I don't want to open the door if they, they don't have a warrant. Cuz this was my door dash lady, I don't even know the lady. She just ran to my house. All right, I have a baby here. Like I really don't know what to do. I'll open the door. If the police, you know, say that I have to open the door but like I don't know what to do. This lady just was shot yesterday. Now I ordered food and there's people outside my house. Cheyenne, I'm on my way. Okay, all right. What do I do?
Tim Miller
What do I do?
Sponsor Voice / Sam
What do I do?
House Resident / Witness
I'm so scared.
Tim Miller
How is this America? How's this America where this lady is just has to live in fear? Like all she did was order a lunch and now she's got somebody inside her house, she's got a baby, she's got these agents pointing guns at her. And if you just look at some.
Co-host/Commentator
Of this and you know you can kind of, this is from the inside as you can see. And we're trying to kind of match all these, these images but you can.
Tim Miller
See what they're doing.
Co-host/Commentator
Like what Their MO Is outside these houses a baby.
House Resident / Witness
Get out until you guys have a warrant signed. Get off my fucking property now. Now.
Tim Miller
They're in fatigues.
Co-host/Commentator
They're in their masks. They've got weapons. There are many, many people outside the house.
Tim Miller
It's like, what. Is this necessary? Why are they doing this? Like. Like, this is not acceptable. Okay? Like, doing immigration enforcement does not require the type of. The type of firepower that you would need to, like, clear a house in Fallujah. Okay? Why are these guys, you know, dressed like they are, you know, storming down the door of a suspected terrorist safe house right now? It's like they're in a neighborhood in Minneapolis, and the people that they're going after are, I assume, are people that have orders of deportation. And, okay, you can do that via paperwork. You know, you can do that with a single cop and a social worker, if that is going to be the mission. You know, I. Sure. I think it's probably the case in some of these cases that they've identified people that are violent criminals. And, you know, you might want to have more. More agents with you and agents with weapons. Like, okay, in some situations, sure. But, like, chasing down a woman who's driving doordash and, like, and doing this kind of Rambo thing where we have a bunch of dudes in fatigue storming.
Co-host/Commentator
The house.
Tim Miller
Like, that is not in the American tradition. Okay? I mean, this is. It isn't the American tradition, I guess, in the sense of, like, it's, like, reminiscent of, like, the Klan and Bull.
Co-host/Commentator
Connor and, you know, cops in the.
Tim Miller
South, like, going down and menacing black people is what it's reminiscent of, really.
Co-host/Commentator
So it's not as if that there's nothing in American history that's like this.
Tim Miller
But, like, this is not the way that we, you know, do law enforcement here. Like, you don't need to have, you know, to. You don't chase people down.
Co-host/Commentator
That crime is like, overstaying a visa and chase them through the streets and.
Tim Miller
Manhandle them and menace them and have weapons and masks and army fatigues. This is sick. And what they end up doing is they're scaring and intimidating people that are here legally that are residents. You have this woman in her home. You have that kid working at Target. You know, you have the Uber driver. None of these people are even the people that they're allegedly going after. They're not. None of them are illegal or undocumented. Like, they're all people that are just being menaced and intimidated by their government for no Reason, like, it's crazy to me that the fucking guys in the Don't Tread on Me flags are for this supposedly like reportedly the person that killed Renee Good at a Don't Tread.
Co-host/Commentator
On Me flag at his house.
Tim Miller
It's like, you're the treader, bro. You guys are there. If you're the type of person with a Don't Tread on Me flag, you should be at the front of the line protesting this. Because right now the federal government is trampling on us, on all of us. I mean, it could be anybody that.
Co-host/Commentator
Could get trampled on.
Tim Miller
If it's this woman inside her home who just ordered doordash, it's a kid working at Target. Like going after these people violently and non transparently and with menace is. It's wrong and it's sick. And anyone who, who does not, who does not want to be on the.
Co-host/Commentator
Side of the jackboot should be out in the streets protesting this. Okay, just one more. This one is sad. They're all sad. But that's the case of Juan Carlos.
Tim Miller
And he's reportedly a US resident who is homeless. He's living in his car in Minneapolis. You know, we don't have the pre video of what happened exactly, but alleged.
Co-host/Commentator
That he was taken out of his car and he was beat up.
Tim Miller
They beat his ass, US citizen.
Co-host/Commentator
These are pictures of his faces from his GoFundMe.
Tim Miller
This is what they did to this guy. This is what I say. This is what the people we pay our tax dollars beat up. This guy who's a American citizen who's homeless, living in his car like we're paying for this. It's fucking outrageous. No wonder people are in the streets.
Co-host/Commentator
They should be in the streets. And we as a society should be.
Tim Miller
All uniting no matter what our views.
Co-host/Commentator
Are on the perfect immigration policy to.
Tim Miller
Say no to this.
Co-host/Commentator
We cannot stand by and allow our tax dollars to fund a bunch of thugs pushing women in gas station parking lots and beating up homeless people who.
Tim Miller
Are US Citizens and scaring the hell out of women inside a house with.
Co-host/Commentator
Their baby and shooting women in the face three times on the street. It's a no. We have to stand in solidarity against all of this because this is what they're doing. This has all been happening since that execution. So this stuff is ratcheting up, not down. And it is going to take a united populace to say no to get them to back off this.
Tim Miller
And it's worked. We should note that it's worked.
Co-host/Commentator
They did back off in Chicago. They did back off of their campaign to send people to El Salvador. They can be rebuffed, but we all have to unite and do it. In the meantime. You know, yesterday, Kristi Noem said that they're going to be sending more ICE agents into into the city. So I fear that things are going to get worse before they get better. We're sending all our love to everybody out there in Minnesota who is out there in the streets. Thanks, guys, very much. Subscribe to the feed. We're here on Bulwark Takes. As new information, new videos pop up, I'm going to be doing my best to kind of monitor those, elevate, bring attention to what is happening on the streets of Minneapolis, help you guys debunk and understand what's real out there in those videos. Episode: Disturbing New Videos Show ICE Harassing Minneapolis Residents
Date: January 13, 2026
Hosts/Commentators: Tim Miller and Bulwark team
This episode focuses on a disturbing surge of aggressive immigration enforcement actions by ICE and CBP in Minneapolis, as documented by a flurry of new videos circulating online. The Bulwark team, led by Tim Miller, review and discuss multiple firsthand accounts and videos, painting a vivid, alarming portrait of state agents engaging in harassment, racial profiling, and violence against ordinary residents—including citizens and legal immigrants—in Minneapolis. The team draws connections to historical abuses and issues a call for broad civic resistance.
Recent incidents: After the controversial police shooting death of Renee Goode by an ICE agent, there’s been a notable increase in confrontational encounters between federal agents and Minneapolis residents ([01:17–02:19]).
“And they've delivered us these just horrifying scenes of confrontations between ICE and CBP agents and the people of Minneapolis. People are just trying to live their lives and do their jobs.” — Co-host ([01:21])
Anecdotal and reported escalation: Evidence and reports suggest a significant influx of agents into the area, intensifying police actions. Agents previously operating in other cities, like New Orleans, have been redeployed to Minnesota, leading to more confrontations ([02:08–02:45]).
Critique of agency response: The hosts sharply criticize federal authorities for escalating tactics instead of de-escalating after the fatal shooting ([03:01–03:40]).
“What do you mean, if I'm from this country?” — Ahmed Bin Hassan ([04:24])
“Oh, so you're going by accents now? ... Have you heard the Israeli accent? Have you heard the European accent?” — Ahmed Bin Hassan ([04:27–04:32])
“I'm a fucking engineer... I'd rather make an honest day's living. I don't go harassing people at work.” — Ahmed Bin Hassan ([05:29])
“This is something that you expect to see in a third world country. These mass agents and fatigues pushing and bullying people, pushing women with no evident target.” — Tim Miller ([07:48])
“US citizen, 17 year old getting pushed around doing his job at a Target. I assume he was also targeted because ... he has a little accent.” — Co-host ([09:03])
“I'm so scared.” — House Resident ([13:06])
“How is this America? How's this America where this lady has to live in fear?” — Tim Miller ([13:07])
“This is what they did to this guy. This is what I say. This is what the people we pay our tax dollars beat up. ... It's fucking outrageous. No wonder people are in the streets.” — Tim Miller ([18:21])
Chilling parallels: The hosts repeatedly draw connections between current ICE actions and darker episodes of American history, including Klan intimidation and discredited law enforcement practices targeting minorities ([15:27–15:49]).
“It's, like, reminiscent of, like, the Klan and Bull Connor and, you know, cops in the South ... menacing black people is what it's reminiscent of, really.” — Tim Miller ([15:39–15:42])
Law enforcement critique: Miller and the team emphasize how legitimate law enforcement objectives could be achieved without militarized force or intimidation, especially toward non-criminals and legal residents ([13:56–16:12]).
“Doing immigration enforcement does not require the type of firepower that you would need to clear a house in Fallujah.” — Tim Miller ([13:56])
Impact on community: The actions are described as indiscriminate, ensnaring citizens, legal residents, and immigrants alike, with fear and chaos the main result ([16:06–17:18]).
Condemnation of tactics: The hosts are adamant that these actions are unacceptable, violating American values and law enforcement norms ([16:12–19:08]).
“We cannot stand by and allow our tax dollars to fund a bunch of thugs pushing women in gas station parking lots and beating up homeless people who are US Citizens and scaring the hell out of women inside a house with their baby and shooting women in the face three times on the street. It's a no. We have to stand in solidarity against all of this.” — Co-host ([18:52–19:08])
History of successful resistance: Protest and civic pushback have led to federal agents being withdrawn from other cities; unity is needed again in Minneapolis ([19:33–19:43]).
Warning and hope: Despite news that more agents are on the way, the hosts express solidarity with Minneapolis residents and urge vigilance and political action ([19:55–20:24]).
Tim Miller:
“This is a powder keg. It's a powder keg that's going to lead to more terrible results.” ([02:46])
Ahmed Bin Hassan:
“You know what that means? I'd rather make an honest day's living. I don't go harassing people at work. Dude, what the hell is that?” ([05:29])
Co-host:
“They're just going around and racially targeting people. Targeting people based on the way that they speak, targeting people based on their mood, their whim and ... manhandling them. Truly, truly insane.” ([09:36])
House Resident (fearful for her child):
“I'm so scared.” ([13:06])
Tim Miller (closing):
“It's crazy to me that the fucking guys in the Don't Tread on Me flags are for this ... if you're the type of person with a Don't Tread on Me flag, you should be at the front of the line protesting this. Because right now the federal government is trampling on us, on all of us.” ([16:57])
The episode is urgent, emotional, and polemical. The hosts’ language is frank, often profane, underscoring the moral outrage and fear echoed by citizens in the featured clips. The Bulwark team speaks directly to the audience, encouraging skepticism, resistance, and solidarity with those afflicted.
Summary prepared for listeners seeking an in-depth, accurate account of the episode’s urgent and passionate discussion of federal law enforcement abuses in Minneapolis.
