This is Julian Edelman from Dudes on Dudes with Gronk and Jules. All right, real quick, take a look at yourself right now.
Host 1
Why?
Julian Edelman
What's wrong? Nothing's wrong. You look like a guy running on three hours of sleep and vibes.
Host 1
Okay?
Julian Edelman
Yeah, I'm tired, kind of cranky and very thirsty Congrats. Those are some of the potential signs of mild dehydration. And I bet your last bathroom break showed you another sign your body might be throwing you a penalty flag.
Host 1
So what's the play?
Julian Edelman
Call Liquid IV hydration multiplier. One stick in water helps hydrate faster than water alone. Okay, but where's the proof? Liquid IVs, clinical studies, not just a guy I know. Real science. Results you can trust.

Host 1
Guys, we have on a 10 time Pro Bowler, four time All Pro, three time three time Super bowl champion. I will not say anything disrespectful because I respect the hell out of him. A very good friend of the show, Travis Kelsey. We won't, we won't talk about August 28th coming up. We'll get to that later. But this is.
Host 2
No, you want to talk about what
Host 1
coming up, August 28, Cincinnati, Nebraska, to kick off college football.
Host 2
I think that's exactly where we should start because we're sitting here, obviously. Travis just flew in G6.
Host 1
Come on.
Host 2
Gets in. He. He doesn't have a hat on. He gets off the plane and goes, hey, by the way. But he got that hat for me. He puts that one on and so the bus first.
Host 1
We got to go to the shop first.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah, we go to the shop first. Get that done. So how are you two?
Host 1
I think we're great.
Travis Kelce
No, we're great.
Host 2
We're great.
Host 1
Clearly a lot of, you know, a lot of good fun. Talking banter on the Internet with the new heights podcast and busting with the boys. But they're. There's no shots, buddy. You guys ended the year last year on a five game losing streak. Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Which means we were getting guys ready for this year.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Not sitting guys, getting guys in that we needed to get experience.
Host 2
So hold on, let me just break that down for.
Travis Kelce
And we got a quarterback coming back. Ssby.
Host 1
It's going to be five, seven, three, nine the year before.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
We just got a new indoor.
Travis Kelce
Guys are going to be working their ass.
Host 1
They ain't getting better like we're getting better.
Host 2
Here's what I'll tell.
Travis Kelce
Here's what I'll say to what is Matt Rule. Got them, boys.
Host 1
Buddy, we're Going to be a pack of wolves. And you guys are going to be doing right now bunnies in a petting zoo. And you're not going to know what hit you when we grab every end, every limb.
Travis Kelce
Got them boys doing up there, huh?
Host 2
It's my Twitter account. We're going to get that. We're going to get Matt Rule showing up. So you guys, your coaching staff, you had a five game losing streak and your answer to that is the coaches decided, let's not even focus on the game plan. Let's not focus on this team anymore. Let's look at some guys in here that we want to get in here.
Travis Kelce
No, I'm assuming that's what happened.
Host 2
Okay. And you're going at him for going 3 and 9 and then 5 and 7, which is. You guys progressed by two games.
Travis Kelce
I'm not even thinking about Nebraska progressed by just. I'm thinking. I'm thinking the coach winning season.
Host 1
What bowl game they playing last year because it wasn't a bad boy Mowers club.
Host 2
This is what Nebraska is doing right now.
Travis Kelce
What the is this?
Host 1
We're having some fun.
Travis Kelce
What is this?
Host 1
That means future national champions.
Travis Kelce
What is this?
Host 2
Is that what that means?
Host 1
Yeah, I think so.
Host 2
I thought we were going to speculate.
Host 1
No, I think we. We put it to bed on the last episode.
Host 2
Okay.
Host 1
That's a. That's a Travis Kelce fit right there on ra.
Host 2
That is a Travis Kelce fit.
Travis Kelce
I don't know. That might be a Mahomes top and bottom set he got there.
Host 2
Does Patrick ever talk about Dylan Rayola?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, Dylan's been to a few games. He's heading there. Yeah, he's good people. He's good people.
Host 2
But it gets a little. I like Dylan Raiola. Yeah, it gets a little worrisome when I'm seeing side by sides of pre games and they're doing the exact same thing.
Travis Kelce
They got the same, like body type too. Like, they enjoy beers. Yeah, you can tell they enjoy some beers.
Host 2
They're B3s, dude. Bad Body ballers. Like, they're doing their thing. They had that B3 shot 24 7.
Host 1
Are you going to be there?
Travis Kelce
100. Yeah. All right. It's right there. Right there in the backyard, baby.
Host 1
It's gonna be fun.
Travis Kelce
Are you going to be there?
Host 1
Oh, we're gonna be there, buddy.
Host 2
Structured around Nebraska football. Will. Will. Before we even started the new heights or anything, he goes to me, he's like, hey, I know we got the bus and bowl this year, but I'd love to do Cincinnati, Nebraska in Arrowhead. I think that's a great one for us. And I think there was one. Maybe Iowa, too. Like there was another game. And I'm thinking to myself, will, we can't go to every Nebraska game. This is getting. This is getting out of hand, out of pocket.
Host 1
I'm telling you, this is. This year feels different, dude. I'm not gonna lie. This year feels.
Host 2
It's like. It's the definition of insanity with this guy. Every year, right around this time, right around tight end, you. Is when Will starts being like, I'm telling you, we might win it all this year. See a loss on the schedule. That's what he says.
Host 1
I can realistically see a loss. Maybe two.
Host 2
Yeah. September 20th is one. Maybe that's maybe two.
Host 1
That's the baby. No, the. I don't want to put it out there. At least.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
I'm not here to play hypothetical, but if I'm going to be a little realistic, I gotta have a loss or two on the schedule.
Host 2
When you and your brother were on your podcast, New Heights, talking about this game coming up.
Travis Kelce
Yes.
Host 2
Were you guys nervous about putting a bet in? Like, how confident are you about your Bearcats?
Travis Kelce
I've lost so many bets that I think I'm due for. For a win.
Host 2
Okay.
Travis Kelce
I think I'm due for a win. I wore Texas text mascot helmet. I wore BYU's jersey last year. I think my Bearcats are gonna. They're gonna come through, and you guys are gonna have to come on to New Heights. And you're rocking a Cincinnati jersey.
Host 1
If we lose, I'll rock a Cincinnati jersey.
Travis Kelce
Whole get up, too.
Host 2
You gotta wear the hat, you gotta wear the pants.
Host 1
I'll wear whatever. I'll wear whatever you want.
Travis Kelce
Pants, helmet, I'll wear.
Host 1
I'll come in day of. And if you had something else extra dad, I'll wear it.
Host 2
You know, it be awesome.
Host 1
I'll be yours.
Host 2
You toss me around, hit me like one of your French girls.
Host 1
Yeah. Yeah.
Host 2
I. I think Will Compton. No shirts. Just Speedo a Bearcat. Speedo would be a good look for the New Heights podcast.
Bethenny Frankel
Oh, man.
Host 2
Right?
Travis Kelce
I mean, I don't want to get myself caught up in this. I ain't trying to wear no Speedo.
Host 2
Yeah, but obviously, I think. I think Nebraska's gonna win that game. I think Bearcats.
Travis Kelce
Are you kidding me?
Host 2
I think Nebraska. Oh, all right. I think Nebraska's gonna win this game by probably multiple times.
Travis Kelce
Touchdowns. Multiple touchdowns are going to go Arrowhead. It's gonna be a home early on last year, we were. We were on fire.
Host 2
So was Nebraska. Would Nebraska beat Colorado?
Travis Kelce
We're on fire. We won our first five games.
Host 1
They got mopped by Colorado, first of all. By Colorado, first of all.
Travis Kelce
It wasn't a great showing.
Host 2
But Colorado.
Travis Kelce
I know, dude, they got. Dude, look what Travis Hunter, man. Guy's really good.
Host 2
You think he's. Do you think he's gonna be good in the NFL? That's a hard question to ask is you're still active.
Travis Kelce
100.
Host 2
But, like, what's the expectation? Pro. Both sides.
Travis Kelce
Both sides. See, that's the thing. I don't know how they're gonna.
Host 2
It's crazy.
Travis Kelce
Divvy it out.
Host 2
I don't.
Travis Kelce
I don't know if. Because teams are going to be going after him, right. And like, they're gonna try and make his day. Yeah, they're gonna try and make his day miserable.
Host 1
Right.
Host 2
And he's got to go play to wide receiver and then turn. Turn around and basically be like high school, where you just stand on the field the whole time.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
And just wait for the game to be over.
Travis Kelce
Dude, if he plays corner, they're going to run deep. Deep balls at him all day. They're going to run. The wide receivers just take off on him all day just to try and get his. Like, him tired.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
I'm like, why wouldn't you just attack him that way?
Host 2
But, dude, watching him. So we went to Colorado, Nebraska, and you could just see, like, his aura, his attitude, like, pre everything. He's got the juice. And he plays. Yeah, he loves football.
Travis Kelce
I saw him play basketball and I was like, oh, yeah, he's an athlete. He's an athlete. Do you think he could throw a pitch right now? Yes. Later, once he hits, like, 30, 35,
Host 2
maybe a surgery over 30, 35. But I think a guy like him, like, if he makes. I don't think he has to make a Pro bowl to not be a bust. I don't think he has to.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 2
If he's solid on both sides of the ball and plays all the snaps, like, I feel like that's something we've never seen before.
Travis Kelce
Jacksonville, you think you guys were on
Host 1
a heater to open up the year last year?
Travis Kelce
I was watching those play, I thought we were pretty towers and we had smoked them.
Host 1
Towson, Miami of Ohio.
Travis Kelce
Houston smoked him. Right. Big rivalry game. Houston got him.
Host 1
That was about it.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, Houston was solid last year.
Host 1
Ucf. We're gonna roll, you guys.
Travis Kelce
All right.
Host 1
It's gonna be fun, though. That'll be a Fun.
Travis Kelce
We got a veteran team this year. We got a bunch of seniors. We got some guys getting some looks.
Host 1
You know who their head coach is?
Guest or Additional Host
Who?
Host 1
Scott Satterfield.
Guest or Additional Host
Brother of.
Host 1
Brother of. I think. I believe Brother of.
Travis Kelce
Not good. What? His brother isn't good?
Host 2
Yes.
Travis Kelce
All right.
Guest or Additional Host
But his brother's with Nebraska.
Host 1
He's solid. He's a solid position.
Host 2
Coaching time.
Host 1
Tight ends.
Travis Kelce
Are you.
Host 2
The price is minus six and a half on FanDuel right now.
Host 1
He could coach you.
Host 2
That's.
Host 1
Yeah, these are the fanboys right out of the game.
Host 2
You might want to take some points on that game.
Host 1
No, no, this has got to be Mano Emano.
Travis Kelce
No, we're going mono Imano. I'm only going wins and losses here.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Okay.
Travis Kelce
Take some points.
Host 2
Very bold of you.
Travis Kelce
Very bold.
Host 2
Variable money line. 188 on FanDuel.
Travis Kelce
You guys are pro. You guys are pros on this.
Host 2
I mean, it is.
Travis Kelce
It's what you guys do.
Host 2
Yeah, it's what we do. It is what we do.
Travis Kelce
So you taking Cincy Moneyline?
Host 2
No, I've already. I'm taking Nebraska no matter what, with the points. What's the point above that? At the ten and a half?
Travis Kelce
I can't do anything like this. I have nothing to do with this.
Host 2
This is my boy. I got to ride with him no matter what. Because I know in three weeks time from that moment, I'll want him to die. I'll. I'll want Nebraska to burn. Nebraska, Michigan, Nebraska takes place. That's the bus.
Host 1
September 20th.
Host 2
So I'm hoping to.
Travis Kelce
That's epic.
Host 1
Birthday.
Host 2
Put in some work of love for Will. So when I have to break his heart on his birthday weekend, we feel a whole lot better. I'll be like, hey, remember when I supported you against the Kelsey brothers? And it won't matter to him. Look at that.
Travis Kelce
Look at that.
Host 2
Look at that.
Host 1
That's what Arrowhead's gonna be like.
Host 2
This is a sea of red.
Host 1
Yeah. Kansas City. They're surrounded by Nebraska fans. That's going to be a home game.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it is.
Host 1
It's going to be a home game for us.
Host 2
When's the last time we saw Travis?
Host 1
A year ago. Oh, wait, no. Super Bowl.
Host 2
Some of the Super Bowl.
Host 1
We got in a couple questions at the presser.
Travis Kelce
That's right.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah, that's right.
Travis Kelce
I forgot what you hit me with. Yeah, something good.
Host 2
We'll hit you with the.
Host 1
You on you getting hawked down by a linebacker, I think.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
Your yak. Like talking about your yak. How good you are with Yak. But watching yourself get chased down now, are you getting a little long in the tooth? You did break the record for touchdowns, I believe for the franchise maybe all in just kind of whiffed on the dunk.
Travis Kelce
I'm a little lighter this year though, man. I'm gonna get up there. I'm gonna get up there. I'm sure you know reporters, Priest Homes is the. Is the leader for the Chiefs all time touchdowns. I got a chance to maybe catch
Host 1
them, but how far are you away? Are you away?
Travis Kelce
I don't know.
Host 2
He's a boy.
Travis Kelce
Last time I looked, I think it was like five to 10. Somewhere in there it was single digits.
Host 1
Looking like you got one year left on the deal.
Travis Kelce
I'll tell you what, man. Xavier Worthy taking his game up a notch. Obviously. Get Rasheed Rice back. I think he'll be speeding. Just the running game. Get our, get our offensive line together. The Josh Simmons kid out of oh State. I know you're not a big old State guy, but man, this dude is a mammoth of a human. He's a stud, man.
Host 2
We will see.
Travis Kelce
He's that he was do. We were. We were doing a little group install in a minicamp. Just had a little outside zone block on him. Guy put his hands on me. Oh, he's like that. Yeah. In scout team and he's just around. I'm just like, all right now. All right, all right now.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
See what this thing's talking about?
Host 2
What is that game? I lost a lot of money on you guys.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 2
Yeah, no, I did.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. But you've lost a lot of money.
Host 1
Yeah. In the past.
Host 2
What is when you're going through that game and it's just going the way. I think he like the yardage in the first half was tough. Didn't get a whole lot better.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 2
Not trying to be disrespectful, but at what point were you like, okay, we're this. We're not going to be able to pull this one out.
Travis Kelce
You know, I don't know if that ever like came in my mind. It was just always just keep fighting and see what happens. But at the same time it got, it got ugly quick. That one. Yeah. That wasn't too fun because I think when they, when they yanked their, their DVs out or they're like big guys on defense, I was just like, man, I know what that sign is. Yeah. And I mean at that point it's like you're. You're still trying to like you're in the mode of like, fighting, fight. Just give. Give your guys and your coaches everything you got. And it was just. It just wasn't going our way, man.
Host 1
Obviously you guys were a hell of a team, but the Eagles were just stacked.
Travis Kelce
I mean, I'll give credit, man. Those. From the D line to the linebackers to, you know, defensive backs, everywhere on that football field, they had guys flying around, and then they. They. I don't know if they had a tick on. On what was going on or if they just kind of had the rules set in place, but it felt like in the run game and pass game, man, they just had stuff figured out.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
And even. Even the stuff that they, you know, even when we got the right call, it was like we were just a step off or timing off or, you know, Pat was under duress, and we just had to try and figure things out on the run, and it was just. It was an uphill battle all day.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Seemed like your game against Tampa and game against the Eagles are really similar.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Like, the D line 8. It was that a big vocal point going into that week or those two weeks?
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Guys, listen, here's the deal. They've got men on the other side of the ball.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
We have to protect.
Travis Kelce
I feel like at that point, because we had. We had kind of went up and down with the whole tackle situation and the offensive line situation throughout the year, and it felt like at that point when Tuni moved from guard to tackle, that we had something figured out to where we could at least manage it with, like, chips and, like, make sure that we didn't put our guys in bad situations. But, I mean, interior, outside rush, they. They got after us. And I mean, if you control the line of scrimmage in the super bowl, it's going to get ugly for you.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And both sides of the ball, like, their trenches go hard.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
I think the Eagles probably have the best offensive line in the entire NFL.
Travis Kelce
Mammoths.
Host 2
Mammoths. And they. I mean, I thought there was going to be a step down with your brother being missing this year.
Travis Kelce
Nah.
Host 2
But they just kept the train rolling.
Travis Kelce
No, they got bigger.
Host 2
They got bigger, but they were just. Yeah, they were. They were great. And it sucks. I hate, like, sitting there and be like, they played a great football game because I'm sitting with you and you played with them.
Travis Kelce
Oh, no. Yeah. No, I've already.
Host 2
Sucks.
Travis Kelce
I've already kind of went down the rabbit hole.
Host 1
I'm.
Travis Kelce
I'm just motivated for this year, man. Yeah, we got. We got them. I think week two, somewhere early and, yeah, we'll get this thing rocking and rolling, boys.
Host 2
You definitely feel like there's more of. Like you just feel more. A little more intense about you sitting on this bus compared. Comparing it to last year. Last year, I mean, vibes were high. You're obviously going to have a help. Has had a hell of a career, but, like, going through that loss. What changes have you made in the off season?
Travis Kelce
I think the biggest thing is you just. You kind of refocus on. On where your. Where your attention is in the off season. I think last year, really, the past, like, three years, I've had a lot of attention in getting. Taking a step away from football to figure out, you know, what I'm doing afterwards and make sure I set that up, and I'm setting myself up for the future. I've kind of always had that mentality in the off season, but I took on bigger projects this year. I kind of put all that to the side, and I'm like, man, I'm going into my last year of my contract, 13th year. I want to make this dream that I've always had the best it's ever. It's ever been. And I think I. I failed last year in a lot of different ways for my guys on the. On the field in terms of being a leader and just being, you know, prepared and ready to rock, and I'm motivated to be. Be accountable for the guys.
Host 1
Man, pouring. Pouring all that into this season, like, setting all the other stuff aside, just focusing on football. Is there a little bit of mortality coming with this being your last year in Kansas City? Do you feel like this could be the last year for Travis Kelsey?
Travis Kelce
I mean, it's the last one on the contract. I'm. I'm focused on this one, man. I don't know what, what next year is going to feel like. I don't know what I'm going to feel like in March and in April next year when I, When I make that decision or I try and figure out what's next for me. But I know that, that I got one on the contract and I got, you know, a hell of a fucking team, and we got a lot of fucking talent, and I'm pumped for it.
Host 1
You.
Host 2
You talked about, I mean, there was a bunch of rumors swirling around about this could be the last year. This past year.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
How close were you to hanging it up? Would a Super bowl have changed that for you?
Travis Kelce
It might have made me think about it a little bit more. I think I had just had a sour taste in my Mouth immediately and like, man, I can't. I can't. This can't be the last game. You know, I just. I still feel like I can do it. And I kind of wanted to give myself that. That full focus when I. When I kind of looked at the year in review and how I got ready for the year and things like that. And it's not to say that I was doing it wrong. It's just when you get older, you start to figure the. Figure things out differently. Like, your body doesn't react to how you used to do things. You know what I mean? You have to focus a little bit more on the preparation and. And being there and being ready. And then throughout the week, you gotta have more of a plan to get back to 100%. And I think thinking about all those things, it was like, I. I don't want to leave anything out there. I want to give it my all and make sure that I. I do this, you know, for the. For the. For the childhood dream in me, you know what I mean? The kid in me that's like, man, I want to make this shit the best thing ever, man.
Host 1
You're obviously super close with the chief's organization. Is there, like, an open line of communication about what the future could look like for you?
Travis Kelce
If they ever asked me, I tell them, you know how I feel. I'm. Coach Reed is like a. He's like a second father to me. You know what I mean? I've been with him for 13 years, and he's helped me both on the field and off the field, become a better person, be a better man and more accountable. And on top of that, you know, Pat's my family now, you know, so through that just family atmosphere in the Chiefs, I don't see myself playing anywhere else, but I do. I do. I trust them with everything. And, you know, I understand that they got to make sure that they unders. That they set themselves up for the future as well, knowing guys got to get paid and. And, you know, positions got to get filled.
Host 1
So, yeah, that is what I was going to ask. Like, could you. And could you imagine yourself in a
Travis Kelce
different uniform at this point? Nah. Maybe if you would ask me that, maybe like a contract or two ago, I'd have been like, you know, I'd keep it open, but a contract or two ago, Yeah. I mean, you've been in it. That's. Yeah. And on top of that, it's like Kansas City is, I guess, the only place I got a home. It's like, that is My home. So I'm like, I'm going in and out of Kansas City for the rest of my life. I'll probably always have my crib there. And I've just had that sense of community. I know everybody from the mayor to the people that work at the local restaurants to, you know what I mean, everybody in the city. So it is home for me now. But I think. I think I would have a tough time putting on another jersey.
Host 1
You're right.
Travis Kelce
I don't know.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And. But also, like, I mean, money is probably not an issue for you. I think there was a rumor.
Host 1
Hey, we, we still got to leverage up going around. Yeah.
Host 2
But I think, I mean, I think.
Travis Kelce
No, no, I spent like, I spent a lot.
Host 2
There's a rumor about 25 million. I think it was. Oh, for a commercial?
Travis Kelce
Yeah. Don't believe everything you read, boys.
Host 2
Did you see that rumor?
Host 1
I think so. I guess the question is, would you do a commercial for any brand if they offered you $25 million?
Travis Kelce
What are we talking about?
Host 1
You, you made your acting debut last year. Obviously you're putting everything else on the side. But how. How was that experience? I know, Sherm. He said he watched it and you did an incredible job.
Travis Kelce
Nice. I haven't heard that review, but do
Host 1
you, after going through that experience of. After going through that experience of acting and everything else, like, do you see it as something that you would want to pursue when you're done?
Host 2
Because I think it's like a legitimate. Just shot. He just shot it last time he was on the show. Because you were talking about.
Travis Kelce
I was still, I was still actually finishing it up.
Host 1
But that's more of like a fun cameo. The other one was.
Travis Kelce
That's what I see. Yeah. That's where I see myself kind of focusing is like those fun cameos where I'll, I'll get a role that's not necessarily, you know my name in a movie or something like that. And I'll just kind of place like in Happy Gilmore. I'm a, I'm a waiter. You know what I mean? Like, that's a fun ass role in a movie with Guy Adam Sandler that I've loved my entire. Like, those are like, bro, I'm, I'm, I'm. I'd kill to do movies like that for the rest of my life. And even if it's just like a small part, like I'm in, like, I'd sign up for that any day. I don't know if I'd sign up for a big TV show, like, not a very familiar character. He's in a lot of scenes, stuff like that. That's just a lot of work, man. It's a. It's a career field that I haven't gotten comfortable in yet. Especially enough to do, like, serious stuff.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
I think I can do like the joking stuff that, you know, we all grew up watching.
Host 2
Much more in your wheelhouse.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
And then if you see Adam Sandler and you snow all the movies.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
And just the opportunity to be.
Travis Kelce
And then he tells you you're doing great, and it's just so.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Was that like, dude, it was insane.
Host 2
I bet you had to be like,
Host 1
is that him saying, like one of those cats where. It's where people say, never meet your heroes. Is this somebody.
Travis Kelce
Oh, no, no, no. You met him and he was the best. He was even. Even further than what you could have ever expected.
Host 2
That juices me up so much.
Travis Kelce
He was. And he was so helpful in terms of, like, kind of making me feel comfortable in the. In like the. The scene and everything. Knowing it's. It's like one of the bigger scenes in the beginning of the movie. At least I made it feel like that. You know what I mean?
Sponsor Voice 1
Like, like, dude, this is a serious
Host 2
ass pepper down, bro.
Host 1
It's one of the biggest scenes in the movie. It's up front. You guys be on the lookout.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
That is. That's crazy. How did. Do they just call your agents? Just call you be like, hey, Adam Sandler movie. Yeah.
Host 1
I forget.
Travis Kelce
I forget what the connection was. Once I kind of like threw it out there that I would. I would like, kill to be in a Sandler movie or anything like that. And like, I had a Happy Gilmore hat on on New Heights one time, and they were like, oh, man, there's rumors that Happy Gilmore 2 might be coming out. Are you gonna be in it? I'm just like, I. I quit everything right now to be in a Adam Sandler.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Or being Happy Gilmore too. But I was talking to Sandman and he was just. He was like, it took so long to get to Happy Gilmore Twos because he wanted to do it, right. He didn't want to. Just. He said he loved doing the movie so much and he thought the. The first one was just such a perfect movie that it had to. He didn't want to disappoint anybody. And this one, I mean, just looking at the trailers, I haven't even seen all of it, but just watching the trailers and this is going to be epic.
Host 2
I can't Wait to see it, dude. He's literally a part of all of our childhoods.
Host 1
Yeah. I heard you refer to him as saying. Is that like, his. Is that his nickname?
Travis Kelce
Sandman.
Host 1
Sandman.
Travis Kelce
I've always called him the same. The Sandman.
Host 2
When you meet him, you have Mr. Sandler. Nice meeting as. Please. Sandman.
Travis Kelce
I think I did call him Mr. Sandler at one point.
Host 2
You have to.
Travis Kelce
No, you gotta start off with that.
Host 2
For sure.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. I think the Sandman's where I. Where I ended up. Makes me feel like that's the goal.
Host 2
Right?
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Anytime you meet, when you're here, I was like, how do I get a nickname in here?
Host 1
Is that what his name is in your. In your phone? Sandman?
Travis Kelce
I think it is. Yeah.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
It has to be.
Bethenny Frankel
Yeah.
Host 1
That's a white.
Host 2
Oh, my baby's just calling it.
Host 1
That's a white whale there for the bus.
Host 2
Oh, yeah. Absolutely.
Travis Kelce
Kidding me.
Host 1
Well, if we have any connects, like,
Host 2
yeah, it would be sick if. So we knew if we had a
Host 1
homie that was somebody that was tight with them that called him Sandman and
Host 2
be like, yo, could you just get him on the show?
Host 1
Yeah, I got a couple of the homies with me are. They are sports guys.
Travis Kelce
You know, I don't text him.
Host 2
Hold on one more time.
Travis Kelce
I would never reach out to this man,
Host 2
if you don't mind. Hold on one second. It'd be sick.
Travis Kelce
He's so busy.
Host 2
It'd be. Since what Be cooler is if one of our boys, we had, like, a bet with them, and we added to the bet, if you win the bet that they have to FaceTime Sandman, something.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
And then have him come on or try to at least get him on the bus.
Host 1
I love that.
Host 2
Do you like that?
Host 1
I love that. Let's all that thought, and we'll bring it to the negotiation table.
Host 2
Got you.
Travis Kelce
You guys are good.
Host 1
You guys have been having some awesome guests, though.
Travis Kelce
Insane.
Host 1
Between Jason Sudeikis, Ben Stiller, LeBron.
Host 2
Crazy.
Host 1
Who's been your favorite one out of, like, the recent. I know that's tough. I'm kind of.
Travis Kelce
I always. I mean, I'm a Cleveland Kid. Watch LeBron playing high school. Getting him on the show was like, that Cleveland, like, connection.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Northeast Ohio connection, I should say. And it's just like, I. I've known all of the people that are, like, in his camp for. For a long, long time. So I. I felt like I knew who he was, and it. When he jumped on, it was just like. We were all just like, homies. For forever that I'd been a Cavs fan since I was like, two.
Host 1
So wild comment about the rings, huh?
Travis Kelce
What do you mean?
Host 1
Winning rings shouldn't define your NBA career.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, I think it. I think it might be taken out of context also. LeBron has won a lot of rings, so I think he's just trying to look out for three, four. Yeah, he's trying to look out for the guys that he. He might have played with that, you know, didn't win one. Trying to show him some respect.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Take the high road.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Being a good dude, big, good teammate. But it's all about rings for me.
Host 2
What's the vibe like when you're sitting with the New Heights team? Like, how long in advance did you think LeBron James might be coming on our show?
Travis Kelce
I mean, we threw it out there like our first season, so it took like three seasons to finally get him to pull up.
Host 2
It seems like he's just now started to do media. Because he's McAfee, right?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, he's got his own McAfee now.
Host 2
He's done you. I think he's going to come on busing. That's tbd. That's tbd, right?
Host 1
If only we knew somebody that had a connection, you know, Be sick is
Host 2
if you had a bet with somebody. Yeah, that'd be sick.
Host 1
They could just be our guest booking team from here on out. For real.
Host 2
New Heights, we'll just. Hey, sloppy seconds. Toss them this way. Toss them this way.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Figure out what worked, what didn't.
Host 1
Who's. Who's a white whale that you would love to get on that hasn't been on yet. Obviously you've had a lot of big names, but who's somebody that you're like, selfishly like, man, it would be sick to get this person.
Travis Kelce
Man, I want to get Deion Sanders on so bad. I want to talk to him about, like, the football and baseball, like, world that he was in in like the late 80s, early 90s, and just. I don't know, just. Just chop it up. Because he was always one of my favorite guys. I. I played like every sport imaginable growing up, and I always wanted to be one of those guys that played both. Played two. Two sport. Professional athlete. No chance.
Host 2
No shot.
Travis Kelce
No shot.
Host 2
I mean, he was the elite.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. The. The story about him playing in both, it had like, helicopter from once.
Host 1
Yeah. NFL early and then flew and to
Travis Kelce
a baseball playoff game or something like that. It was crazy.
Host 2
Nuts.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
I think he had a touchdown one and a home run. The other I had a hit in another like that.
Host 1
Yeah. I think. I personally think he's like the most athletic player of all time.
Host 2
Yeah, I think so.
Host 1
Yeah. Over Bo Jackson. That's all. That's usually the argument.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
I think Bo Jackson was a freak. Freak, but all star. Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
I was a little biased with the World Series.
Host 2
Super bowl is Deon Sanders. What's that?
Host 1
I said I was a little biased with Dion because he was a cowboy. I love the Cowboys growing up. You're.
Travis Kelce
You're little Giants guy, huh?
Host 1
Yes. Spike. Oh, yeah.
Travis Kelce
Coach o'. Shea.
Host 1
As I'd be like. Like Spike. Chin ups on my dad's arm before everybody.
Host 2
Your white whale. I feel like your white whale is a little underwhelming. Like, Dion should be an easy get for you, dude.
Travis Kelce
I. It probably is like, more attainable than I think it is, but I absolutely. I don't know, man. Who else would be. What would be through the roof?
Host 1
You know who Jason would want?
Travis Kelce
No idea. Jason would want, like Neil Degrassi Tyson or something. He's an. You get the old lineman.
Host 2
Dude. My YouTube algorithm, whatever. My shorts are always. Dude, he's all. And he's always explaining something to me. I'm like, that shit's fucking wild. The clip of him talking about the Titanic. He talks about the. When the ship sinks in the Titanic, how it's just one set of stars and they just basically copied and flipped it and it wasn't correct for that time of year. Like, how he, like, gets all that figured out. It's wild. And so he was a part of another movie that helped him get the correct sky for that time frame that everything. It's like, how do you figure that shit out? That's nuts.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
And also, did they contract you in to do this, or are you just doing it for the fun of doing a quick favor? I just need to make sure this is right.
Host 2
Right. Do me a favor. That's good. That's good. Yeah. He'd be a. He'd be a cool guest. Just smarter than everybody else, dude.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, he gets it.
Host 2
Yeah. With. You were talking about earlier about from a leadership standpoint, maybe not being as accountable as you want to your teammates. At what point in the season or after the season did you realize. Did you realize that you probably weren't being the best leader you could be?
Travis Kelce
I mean, just reflecting. I don't think I was the best leader during the super bowl itself in terms of making plays, being able to, you know, find a way no matter what they're what defense they're playing. I've always put the accountability on myself to, you know, get open no matter what. And don't get me wrong, there were. They were doing things that. That minimized everything that I could, like, kind of manipulate. But at the same time, I still feel like I had a drop early. I had two or three routes where I. I didn't get separation when I needed to, and certain. Certain moments where I could have sped it up, knowing that Pat was under duress for a lot of. A lot of part. A lot of points in the game. So I don't know, man, Just. Just being that and then just keeping the. The energy and the belief alive. I don't know if I necessarily did that as well as I could have. And I think just leading up to it, making sure I got everybody's, you know, mentality ready going into the game, I just put a lot of accountability on myself to be able to, you know, be that for the guys.
Host 2
How difficult is it for you to not, like, show frustration when you have a drop early? They're doing different things and coverages so you can't manipulate them as much. Like when you're progressing through the game, you've been in it for so long. I've never played in a Super bowl boat, but it's the, like, it's for all the marbles. Like, how do you, from a mental standpoint, able to, like, combat the. Okay, I had a drop. These things are not going the right way. Like, how do you take away the frustration?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, I mean, you gotta have that, like, I don't know, almost like that you. You either gotta react in terms of, like, high aggression, high energy, high frustration, or. Which can make you uncharacteristic, can make you maybe, I don't know, do something stupid after a whistle, something like that. That's what I've done in the past. Or you can try and be calm, cool, collected, show confidence, show leadership, show, like, positive, like, reinforcement, like, around everybody, around everyone on the team. And it's just every situation is different as I'm getting older. I can't necessarily do a lot of the things that I've been able to do when I was a younger player. So it's. It's creating even more frustration for me in certain times. But at the same time, I could still be that voice of reason for a lot of these young guys that are in a unfamiliar territory.
Host 2
Is it a scary thought? A little bit. When you're getting older and some of the things you look back at some Film. You're like, man, I used to be able to do that, but I used
Travis Kelce
to be able to throw a goddamn baseball.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you.
Travis Kelce
I used to be able to hum it like 90 dud. I used to really have a. I used to really have a cannon over here. Now I can't even raise my arm over my head like that. Yeah.
Host 2
Is that hard?
Travis Kelce
It's bad.
Host 2
Dude, bring that thing up.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, I can throw it up.
Host 2
But deal with the mortality of being a football player. Sucks.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
And you see all these young.
Host 1

Bucks get in there and they're like going out partying or whatever and you're like spending a little more time in the ice tub.
Travis Kelce
I don't see a lot of guys going out and partying anymore because you're not out. It's a good point. A lot of the younger guys, I think I feel like I would hear it through like the locker room and stuff like that. A lot of guys are just like video game and streams.
Host 1
Video games are fun. You play any?
Travis Kelce
I'll get on the call of duty every now and then. Okay it up.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
I'm a pubg guy myself.
Travis Kelce
Pubg?
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
The.
Host 1
Is that pubg is kind of like the. The military version of Fortnite.
Host 2
Oh.
Host 1
Where it's like a battle royale.
Travis Kelce
Oh, God. Oh, God. My jeans were too tight. Oh, I mean, dude. I mean, he was trying to do it.
Host 1
Hey, he was doing the same thing. Throw it as hard as he can.
Travis Kelce
I was like, dude, dude, please. I'm sorry. I know that was. That came in hot.
Host 2
Shoulder looks good right there, though.
Host 1
Oh, bud.
Travis Kelce
I think it was the. I think it was the top of the mound coming down. I hadn't work that yet.
Host 2
Yeah, it's the. The height. I get it. Yeah. The elevation of the mountain when you're open.
Travis Kelce
When you're over six foot. Yeah, it's harder.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Well, I would know. I am over 6 foot. It's. It's.
Host 2
I kind of degeneration going on right now. He's actually getting shorter as we sit here.
Host 1
I am I the best athlete on the bus all around. Maybe some people are.
Host 2
You know, Mitch is in the back. Who's waiting.
Host 1
You guys can talk about your injuries. I did have 12 anchors put on my right shoulder.
Travis Kelce
That's it.
Host 1
You know, 12 anchors.
Travis Kelce
I had that twice that.
Host 1
You had that twice?
Travis Kelce
Yes.
Host 2
Oh, you guys still have shoulders. Wait, what?
Travis Kelce
And I had AC separation. That's only getting.
Host 1
Everybody's got the lidocaine needle with the little pad on top before a game.
Travis Kelce
That's rookie.
Host 1
They tell you, oh, you're not gonna feel the first hit you take. You're just like, oh, this sucks.
Host 2
And for those who don't know what's what. What. 12.
Host 1
An anchor is kind of like a little. Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Yield suture.
Host 2
Oh, stitches.
Host 1
Yeah, like a little. Yeah, like a little stitch. You think of your shoulder, your labrum is like a clock, and you have nice. That's how many anchors you can get in.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 1
Guys like us, we have all 12 anchors.
Travis Kelce
This guy pays attention. I'm full restructure.
Host 1
Because when you hear 12, you're thinking, I'm kind of badass.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
I was kind of playing on some. I thought I was just gonna get cleaned up. Maybe three or four anchors. I get out there. Like, we had to fix the whole thing.
Host 2
The whole thing.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
I always hate the surgery talk with, like, hey, we'll see when we get in there. But it looks like it's just X, y, and Z. Yeah. Every time you come out.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Like, oh, it turns out. Turns out it was actually all of These things as well.
Travis Kelce
So happened with my knee. That was fun.
Host 2
What happened? Your knee?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, my rookie year, I had just, like, some discomfort. I kept doing the MRIs. I took, like, 10 MRIs. Everybody in the building was calling the MRI machine the Kelsey. Like, oh, you're going to get a Kelsey. All right, nice.
Host 2
That's tough.
Travis Kelce
I'm a rookie.
Host 2
It's a little bit of discomfort.
Travis Kelce
It's. Something's up. So I went to. I went to the guys. I'm just like, just go in there and scope it. They're like, all right, we'll see what happens with. Go in there. I had, like, microfacture surgery. You guys know what micro fracture is?
Host 2
I know it's a big deal.
Travis Kelce
It's. It's ended some careers.
Host 1
Not yours.
Travis Kelce
They. They drill holes in your, like, cartilage bones to, like, get blood to seep through to create and rebuild cartilage. Couldn't run for, like, six, seven months. And then it was on, like, a pitch count for half the season.
Host 1
Oh, and this. This is your rookie year?
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
Going into your second?
Travis Kelce
Going into my say, I didn't play. I played one snap my rookie year, and it was a blocked field goal. I was on the field goal team, and I only went in because somebody got hurt. And I would just happen to be dressing that day. How long did you think I went in? I went in there, supposed to be the left tight end on field goal, and I'm like, my knee. I tapped the right tight end because we were on the right hash. So the rush was definitely coming from the field. So I'm like, hey, you trying to take that left side for me? My knee. And he just being a good teammate, he was like, yeah, dude, I got you. I went over to the right side, heard that. I'm just, like, turned around, balls on the ground. I'm like, get it. Hobbling around. I see guys jumping on. I'm kind of like, fuck, my knee. Get out of there.
Host 1
You know, everybody's like, we wasted a.
Travis Kelce
So the.
Host 2
Yeah, the next guy.
Travis Kelce
Two weeks. Two weeks after that, I got it. I got scoped and got through in a brace for six months.
Host 2
So you go through your rookie year, play one snap, second year, you're on a pitch count. Are you thinking at any point maybe I'm just not built for this?
Travis Kelce
Are you kidding me? The entire rehab, I'm just like, God damn it, I'm never gonna see this happen.
Host 2
You call on your brother being like, how the.
Host 1
Yeah, he's being all tough and gritty.
Host 2
He's like, you just got to run through it.
Travis Kelce
Exactly.
Host 1
That's gonna be so disappointed.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it's like, just take that. Take the ibuprofen they're giving you, and just get back out there.
Host 2
Yeah, I wish it was just ibuprofen. Sure.
Host 1
We get it. Dude, you got the photo pulled up.
Travis Kelce
Jesus.
Host 2
That was your X ray, right?
Host 1
He's like, keep zooming in on it, like, as you guys are talking.
Travis Kelce
Jesus.
Host 2
She was, like, always playing a bit while we're also doing a show. Is that you?
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 2
Congrats.
Travis Kelce
Holy.
Host 2
That's big time.
Host 1
Growing up was there. Who. Who was the favorite? Was Jason the favorite growing up?
Travis Kelce
100. He was honor student. Did football, hockey. Was, like, all league and all in, like, three different sports. Never missed a game. Like, music genius was. It was on, like, the orchestra, the jazz, the. He did every. Yeah, dude. He used to get, like, 30 tackles a game and at halftime, be in the marching band. He was. But he was, like, the most feared guy in. In the school.
Host 1
No.
Host 2
Played that trumpet like a mother.
Host 1
Did you?
Travis Kelce
Baritone sacks.
Host 2
My fault.
Host 1
Did you.
Travis Kelce
I had the trumpet, and it was the. Was waxing.
Host 1
Did you ever. Did you have resentment towards him? Oh, no, there was never like, oh, he's the favorite. You know, I'm kind of doing my thing, too.
Travis Kelce
He's the best.
Host 1
You know what I mean? And then he kind of comes back around after he's winning Super Bowls and all Pros, like. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. Good, too, Guys.
Host 2
Oh, you got how many?
Travis Kelce
No, I followed him. I followed him to Cincinnati.
Host 2
Okay, so you guys were like that. You guys never had a little tiff?
Travis Kelce
What? My brother used to beat my ass.
Host 2
Have you seen how. How has he gotten used to the retired life? Has he had a good transition?
Travis Kelce
He's thriving.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
He is crushing life, no doubt. But I'm wondering inside ball, like, if he said, like, hey, stay as long as you can't. Adam Sandler, right? Billy Madison. He's grabbing the kids as long as you can type of talk with you. Or he's like, hey, by the way, on the other side of this. It's incredible.
Travis Kelce
No, he. We haven't really talked about it like that now. I don't know. I think he's. He's thriving in. In the decision that he made. Obviously, there was probably something that we haven't talked about is probably something there that the Eagles went back to the super bowl and they won it.
Host 2
Yeah, there's.
Travis Kelce
There's got to be any. Any ball player that made that Decision would have that, I feel like. But at the same time, he's around his four girls enjoying life and being around the fam and doing a bunch of crazy during the football season. And then, I don't know, he's just enjoying it. I don't see. I don't see him like, regretting any decisions.
Host 2
That's awesome. Because once you walk away, man, it's tough. Like, you see a lot of guys that leave and you're like, they just have an identity crisis for the longest time because you used to be the man. And then a lot of guys just go back to doing nothing.
Travis Kelce
I've. I mean, we've all seen a lot of college guys that we played with go down that road. A lot of guys that we played with in the league do that. And that's why I kind of always wanted to make sure I set myself up for something, you know, to at least immediately get into and then always have that connection back to the game. Some, I don't know, some guys just kind of step away and they never come back around the, the buildings or they never, you know. Right. Create those, those relationships with people that, you know, will keep, will help keep them around the game, around everything like that.
Host 2
When you're trying, when you're trying out all those new things, figuring, okay, what could I do next? What was the biggest thing that got you out of your comfort zone? Whether it be like snl. The acting.
Travis Kelce
The serious acting.
Host 2
The serious acting, yeah. What level of discomfort was that? Like, were you like, halfway through it being like, I know this is not for me?
Travis Kelce
Well, no, not necessarily that it wasn't for me. I mean, I was, I was a part of a really good cast. I think I got a lot of help and a lot of pointers from them, so they helped me make. At least make me feel comfortable in the moment. But at the same time, just like preparation wise, like, I'm so prepared for an NFL game. Like in my career, I get an entire week to figure out a scheme, how I'm going to attack somebody, how I'm going to like, handle certain specific situations. And when you go into acting, it's just. I just didn't feel that as prepared. And I just feel like I gotta find that, like, I don't know that professionalism before the, the, like the cameras are on and I just hadn't found that yet.
Host 2
You're just hanging out in the trailer.
Travis Kelce
I'm just like going over the lines.
Host 2
Yeah. As long as I know these, how
Travis Kelce
many times am I gonna read this same line and think that, you know, I mean, I got. I gotta find the.
Host 2
Then you finally do one that's good. And the director's like, hey, let's get one just to be safe. You're like, God damn it.
Host 1
Did he not like it?
Host 2
Just tell me if you don't like it. Just give me a. I get. Just coach y.
Travis Kelce
My entire. Every single, like director that I met on. On. On the. What do you call on scenes and everything like that. I was just telling. I was like, coach me up. I'm here to be coached. If I suck, tell me I suck and tell me how I can be better. I'll take all criticism. I don't give a.
Host 1
How often are you practicing your lines by yourself in front of a mirror?
Travis Kelce
Not necessarily in front of a mirror, which kind of adds to the professionalism. Get to see facial features, to see how your body's reacting. I was big on like a scene would happen. And if the directors were like watching the scene over to see if they like it or not or see what we could do different, I would like hurry up and go over there to watch some film real quick. But I don't know, it's. It's still like. I don't know. It's still early in, like, just not. I don't know. I don't feel like I grasped the. The acting world yet.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Just seeing him videotaping himself just by himself and I'm sure, like the features and like. Okay, I can kind of move a little differently here.
Travis Kelce
I'm sure you definitely feel like a jamoke doing some of it for sure. Like you feel out of place.
Host 2
Yeah. I'm sure some of the actors are sitting there being like, we've worked our whole lives, gone to theater school, done all this, and this guy scores a couple of touchdowns, gets to show up and be a part of it.
Travis Kelce
I felt those eyes.
Host 2
You felt.
Travis Kelce
You have to felt those eyes.
Host 2
Not to the people that are all about the art. Like this guy. He doesn't respect it like we do. He doesn't.
Host 1
Yeah, he's going to dance.
Host 2
This is a game to him. This is life to us. They do slam poetry on the weekends. That you. Is that it right there?
Travis Kelce
Oh, yeah.
Host 1
That's you.
Travis Kelce
Oh yeah, it's Eddie. Did you grow that beard Fast Eddie, or is that make the beard's real hair? No.
Host 1
Yeah. That is awesome.
Host 2
That is badass. What about snl? How nerve wracking was that? The monologue standing up there felt a
Travis Kelce
little like I said the. The silly Stuff, the funny stuff, the, the comedy. I just feel so much more comfort was still like a sense of like, I need to be a professional here. I don't want to, like, I want to take advantage of this, but like, I don't want to. I want to have fun doing it, but I don't want to look like a loser doing this. Like, I want to make them respect like my approach and how I'm like taking it serious and. But it was just a fun roller coaster, man. You're there all week, up till 2, 3 in the morning every day, just trying to like knock stuff out, do some of the. The pre recorded stuff and yeah, that was insane. That was a crazy ride.
Host 2
It's one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Travis Kelce
That was fun.
Host 2
The SNL thing is one of the more badass situations.
Travis Kelce
Have you. You've been to snl?
Host 2
I have not been. I have not hosted. I have not been any part of it at all other than just watching.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 2
My dad had a Ford Expedition and he'd have the best of Chris Farley, snl. That was the only DVD down by the river, baby.
Travis Kelce
Are you kidding me?
Host 2
And I watched the hell out of that.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Burned that.
Travis Kelce
Were you. Were you a big Beverly Hills ninja guy growing up?
Host 2
I was not.
Travis Kelce
You were not?
Host 1
Sure. Back there.
Host 2
Black Sheep guy, Tommy Boy guy. But Beverly Hills.
Travis Kelce
Those two classics, absolute classics.
Host 2
Those are. Those are outstanding.
Host 1
What were the writers rooms like?
Host 2
Question by.
Travis Kelce
So that was. The writers rooms were fun because you're just getting pitched ideas. The table reading for a guy that can't really read that well.
Host 2
Same Preach.
Travis Kelce
It was kind of a situation and I felt like I was just like trying to like get through the reading instead of actually, actually like acting it out and giving it a voice and giving it a character and things like that. Like, I was just focused on. Just don't skip this line.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
You know what I mean?
Host 2
I. Brother. So when it comes to reading difficulties, I will be on that side of the aisle with you my entire life.
Travis Kelce
More of a audible. More of an audio guy.
Host 1
Right.
Host 2
That's why they make audio books now for guys like us.
Host 1
You read it.
Host 2
I'm listening. I'm listening. Quite a bit, actually.
Travis Kelce
No, the table read was the hardest part.
Host 1
Dude, we need, you know, he needs to get a cameo in his tires.
Travis Kelce
That would be legendary up your alley right there. Are you kidding me? I'd kill to be in that.
Host 1
Have you watched the second season?
Travis Kelce
I have not started. Shane's so good. He absolutely killed it.
Host 2
I Saw like some rumors that like Shane put up a shitload of money for the first season. Everyone was like, don't do it. And he just betted himself and it became like a massive hit the way it is.
Host 1
Oh no.
Host 2
Allegedly. This is like skimming through like YouTube shorts. Right. So I'm not. I don't have anything to verify this but the fact that he was at the Ascension, he was making what he was making and he took a risk like that, if that is true is wild.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, that's bad.
Host 1
Now he's in Madden.
Host 2
Just crazy. Yeah, crazy.
Travis Kelce
I'm sorry.
Host 2
Vince Vaughn.
Host 1
Yeah, he's gonna be in the. The new Mad movie. The new John Madden movie.
Travis Kelce
Oh, I would tell you.
Host 2
Can we say that.
Host 1
Yeah, that's.
Guest or Additional Host
Yeah, they put it out.
Host 2
Okay, cool, cool. Just making sure.
Travis Kelce
That's what I was like.
Host 2
I was like, I could definitely see Shane. No, the college football game would be like a center for Notre Dame with
Host 1
Christian Bale, Nicholas Cage. Like a big time, big time movie.
Travis Kelce
Oh yeah. Nicholas Cage dressed as John Madden right now. Hilarious.
Host 2
Wild.
Travis Kelce
He's rocking pants. You used your game day pants, dude. You used to have some of those.
Host 2
Got to have those pleated right down the middle.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
High waters Fastball. The he did. He had Vince Vaughn on there on the tire. Season two.
Host 1
So sick.
Host 2
That's my legend. If I could have anybody sit in that seat. Love having you. You're incredible. But I kidding me.
Travis Kelce
I would get up and ask him, please take my seat.
Host 2
I let him take my seat. I let you guys actually do the show just as so I feel like I was a little bit have him
Host 1
reenact a couple wedding crasher lines for us.
Host 2
Yeah. And I'm sure he hates it it But I would definitely be that guy.
Travis Kelce
Old school.
Host 2
It's like, huh. I'm not even wearing a belt. Am I right? Phenomenal finger foods.
Host 1
How do you think I keep it up, slick?
Host 2
Yeah, yeah. Dude, he is. That's my goat. That is my goat by far. Look at him.
Travis Kelce
Swingers. Vegas, baby. Vegas.
Host 2
Great movie. Just pure Vince Vaughn too. Pure Vince Vaughn. What else we got going?
Travis Kelce
I don't know.
Host 1
What else is new?
Travis Kelce
I don't know.
Host 1
Dude. It was there ever. Your probably answer is probably going to be but I got a few of
Travis Kelce
those in my pocket.
Host 2
Got it.
Host 1
Were there moments out the year last year where it's just like we're kind of getting lucky here at the end of the game.
Travis Kelce
I mean, I mean you guys had
Host 1
so many games where you're winning so many different Ways, you know, that was.
Travis Kelce
That was the craziest one. The. The Denver block. Field goal crazy in arrowhead. But then you think about it. You watch it on film. You see what they've been doing on film on that side of the line. It's like. It's. It's kind of not.
Host 2
You are not sitting in a field goal meeting.
Travis Kelce
No. No way.
Host 2
You sitting in a field goal, mate.
Travis Kelce
So I'm listening the next day be
Host 2
like, see, guys, this is what we talked about all week. Like, oh, I guess I did talk about that.
Travis Kelce
This is why we finished the game right here.
Host 2
This is why we finish the game. I guess that's why we do do it. That's crazy.
Travis Kelce
My knee.
Host 1
My knee.
Travis Kelce
For a guy that voluntarily went to the other side, it's like, I know this rush is coming this way.
Host 2
Hey, bud, you get that? Take this one. Take this in the boundaries. Take this one, love. Yeah, you guys did win in some crazy fashions.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it was pretty. It was still.
Host 2
Still made it to the Super Bowl.
Host 1
I could not believe it. Dude, it was crazy. What was the Juice like leading up to the Buffalo game? Because there's obviously so much storyline buying Mahomes, Josh Allen, the games that you guys have had in the past.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Do you feel guilty taking away from Josh Allen's career?
Travis Kelce
No, no. It's a great competition. He's got his fair share of wins. It's just regular season. Yeah. I mean, that fourth quarter, I mean, the fourth down in the regular season, those are still like heroic moments.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
I don't know. I got a dude.
Host 1
Hey, be real. They got the first.
Travis Kelce
Can't let it define you, dog.
Host 1
I got the first down. That sneak.
Travis Kelce
Nah, be real. Nah.
Host 1
Be real.
Travis Kelce
Nah.
Host 2
What else we got? Let's talk to Travis. 20 minutes. I mean, that was the first down. I thought also the way they do the tush push is ridiculous.
Travis Kelce
If you guys think it was.
Host 2
I'm gonna go over two gaps and then go down the middle.
Travis Kelce
And they did it twice.
Host 1
Nobody pushing him.
Travis Kelce
They did it twice.
Host 2
You got to push that tush.
Host 1
Yeah, gotta.
Travis Kelce
You gotta get in there. You gotta take advantage of the rules, man.
Host 2
Let's talk about your guys's four minute. Why do we throw it so much?
Travis Kelce
We like the ball in Pat Mahomes hands.
Host 2
No doubt about it.
Travis Kelce
He's a great decision maker, we think.
Host 2
Great decision maker, Stud. Soon to be a guest on bus with the boys.
Julian Edelman
Correct.
Travis Kelce
What? I didn't know you were coming on, Pat. Hell yeah, man. I'm just warming this seat up for you, bud.
Host 2
There's a couple of steps. You're one of them.
Host 1
If there's only somebody that we knew.
Host 2
Oh, for what?
Travis Kelce
I mean, we got a lot of
Host 1
ass out of here.
Travis Kelce
Cincinnati, Nebraska. Is the bus going to be in?
Host 1
The bus won't be there. However, we will.
Host 2
Microphones and cameras.
Host 1
With cameras.
Travis Kelce
All right, there you go. Well, there's your chance.
Host 2
We. We saw at the super bowl. We won. Well, at the super bowl media days, I asked Pat. I go, hey, since Bus with the boys is no longer with Barstool Sports, would you come on? He goes, oh, it definitely helps your chances. That went viral. And Dave chewed my ass about that, so I need to find a different way to know. I found a different way to word that conversation because I would love to have Pat on love Barstool, but what is this?
Host 1
He said, can we get Jason on? We have a gift for him.
Host 2
Jason's coming on when Nebraska beats Cincinnati.
Travis Kelce
This is.
Host 2
That's already part of the. That's put that. Put a bow on that term.
Host 1
But the. The bet is going to be in the off season, right?
Host 2
Should be.
Host 1
Should be like. It would be nice just to get Jason on just like solo before they come on collectively.
Host 2
Right. So we get Jason on, and then the off season, we get them both on.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Along with Adam Sandler, Patrick Mahomes, LeBron James.
Host 1
That's right.
Travis Kelce
I'm. I'm just gonna make sure I shoot the text out as soon as I leave here. Shoot.
Host 1
This just put us all in a group chat.
Travis Kelce
There we go.
Host 1
Yeah. Hey, Sandman.
Host 2
Oh, McConaughey.
Travis Kelce
Huge fans.
Host 2
Have you had McConaughey on the bot on new heights?
Travis Kelce
That would be an awesome one, man. Get him. Talk some ball.
Host 2
Yeah, yeah.
Travis Kelce
God damn.
Host 2
What other. What other things have you not done yet that you like to give a try for your post football career?
Travis Kelce
I want to see what. What calling a game feels like. Oh, yeah, I want to get in the booth. Getting in the.
Host 2
You saw that Tom Brady paycheck and you saw his first couple games. I could do that. I could do that. 320. Was that what it was? Was that quarterback money?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it was. Ton of money. No, I've always. I've always, like. I feel like impersonated, you know, guys they call the games and stuff like that growing up, and I don't know, I thought it would always be fun.
Host 2
You just jump in there, a random clip, and you commentate it for us real quick. You don't want to do that.
Travis Kelce
I don't like no improv here. That's not. Yeah.
Host 2
Do a table read.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. That's what it felt like right there.
Host 2
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, sir.
Travis Kelce
No, no, no.
Host 2
Yeah. Dude, I, I, I love where your head's at, but the. Yeah. Go and commentate this one. I love your heads up. But I feel like the preparation involved for calling a game, like, truly sitting in the booth, color commentary, it's got
Travis Kelce
to be so player names. Player names is where I would get ruined.
Host 2
The fact that they get those people and be able to. What impresses me the most is like hockey. Hockey or basketball. Because that ball is just moving around. Puck's moving around everywhere.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
And they're able to just go, go, go, go. Michael Jordan's getting in the scene.
Host 1
Oh, I know.
Host 2
Is that confirmed?
Travis Kelce
Is he in the. And he's, he's not just doing like, like what Barkley and them doing pretty
Host 2
much like, like that.
Guest or Additional Host
I'm still sure to see his take on it all.
Host 1
Because I hate the NBA right now. I know. You know he'll sling it.
Host 2
Yeah. I don't know. I don't know, man. I don't know. If you're Michael Jordan, why do it like you've, you're a billionaire.
Guest or Additional Host
He's probably bored.
Host 2
Golf every day, brother. You've had a lot of time to not be bored. Like, you're in your late 50s now, right?
Guest or Additional Host
Yeah.
Host 1
At least.
Host 2
It's like
Host 1
game.
Host 2
He's pro.
Host 1
He's.
Host 2
He's got the best.
Guest or Additional Host
I think it'll be epic. It'll be an insane bump for the NBA.
Host 2
Oh, it'd be massive because he's pretty
Host 1
much a dollar amount. He couldn't refuse.
Travis Kelce
NBC's.
Host 2
What's that number?
Host 1
I don't know.
Travis Kelce
Isn't NBC.
Host 1
Yeah. I have no clue.
Travis Kelce
NBC's got it.
Host 2
God.
Guest or Additional Host
Oh. One of our newer busing members, Clay Matthews. I only overheard the story, but can we get that when you, when you
Travis Kelce
first played against him, when he made me feel like I was gonna get my ass killed. Yeah, I mean, it was, it was that 2000. Is that first year playing. So it was, it wasn't 13. It was 14. But it was like my first couple games playing, and I had like, maybe 10 catches up to this point in my career. And I'm going into Lambeau, and I'm thinking, this is Lambo. This is my moment. This is where I'm gonna, I'm getting this. People are gonna know me after this.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
And I'm all hyped up and fired up to play at least I think it was 14, might have been 15. Either way, I. I see Clay Matthew. I'm just like this Clay Matthews. His arms are way bigger in person than they are on tv, and they are enormous on tv. And. And it's like the back side of a outside zone, and I'm chasing them down. I kind of give him a hit and I'm like, yeah. And he stops, squares up to me and says, don't ever talk to me. I'll kill you or something. Something along the lines, blah, blah, blah, I'll kill you. And I was just like. Couldn't even say anything after that. I'm just like, dude, they're just playing ball.
Host 2
Ah, that is wild. I'll kill you comment. It's thrown around a lot in those 60 minutes. Yeah, it's throwing a lot.
Host 1
Have you ever had any other moments like that with a different player?
Travis Kelce
James Harrison's, I think it was same year. Same year. And he had the. He had the visor on the dark and it was. It was like the backside of a run. Jamal Charles is fast as he's already out the gate. And I'm just kind of like holding him. I'm like, yeah, he can't get off the block. And he just stares at me, doesn't say anything. I kind of like, go like this to see if he's really staring at me. His eyes follow or his head follows a little bit. And I'm just like, what?
Host 2
My bad.
Travis Kelce
Like, three plays later, I'm on the line of scrimmage, like, looking into the ball. He's outside backer kind of around with, like, number two, three by one set. And he just times it up and smokes me on the, like, times up the snap and everything. I come off the ball, wow. Just absolutely blindsided. I'm like getting up with like, my. My head still trying to figure out what the just happened. Plays. I absolutely. The entire play, Alex Smith sees the snap, sees what's happening. He's like, I gotta get out of the pocket.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
And he just starts running around. End of drive. And I'm just. And I'm just kind of looking around. I look over at him, he's just staring at me with the visor on. Again, I'm just like, not saying a thing. And I'm just like, scott, he's killed somebody for sure. Yeah, dude.
Host 2
I played him my rookie year on Monday Night Football. First play the game, we threw a pick six. But before the game started, all the office on were like, hey, we know you like to Chatter a little bit. Don't talk to this guy. Don't say a word to him. Just leave him alone. Hopefully he, like, stays asleep during the game, but it's like Monday Night Football. I'm hyped up. I'm juiced up. I'm ready to make a name for myself. So replacing the game, something happens. I'm like, I'm. I'm here all day type, whatever. Whatever dumbass comment I make. We're all day. And he doesn't say a word to me.
Travis Kelce
Dude.
Host 2
And then, like, he kind of lines up in a four. And I go. I'm like, I'm about to cut off this dude so fast. And I go to cut him off. And I go to cut. No, I go to put an arm up to get it. Start going to linebacker in a C block. He drops down to the ground and just grabs my ankle and starts Gator rolling.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 1
Yes.
Host 2
Starts Gator rolling. Me. And right then and there, I thought, okay, yeah, it's. It might be over for me. It might be over for this conversation the rest of the game. But he was. He's got that move, too. He, like, puts his arm in and uses your leverage to spin you around. It's crazy because you look at him, you're like, yeah, he's definitely like. He's a beefcake. There's no doubt about. Like, he's got a lot of muscles on him, but he's so short. You're like, I'll be able to handle this.
Travis Kelce
No way.
Host 2
It's very hard to handle that.
Travis Kelce
There's no handling that, no sacks.
Host 2
But this was a hard game.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 1
Then you see him on Instagram just pushing those sleds, and the plates are like.
Host 2
Plates are falling over. Hitting him in the head. Doesn't even matter. He's got a bendy bar with 405 on it. Reverse gripping it like this.
Host 1
Brother, you are retired.
Host 2
Yeah. What are you. What are you out of here chasing?
Guest or Additional Host
You saw his comment about the 100 man versus gorilla?
Host 2
These.
Host 1
Yeah. Two. James Harrison's. Yeah.
Guest or Additional Host
He's like, two. They were like, why two?
Host 1
One to film, one to film it.
Host 2
Look at this.
Travis Kelce
That's pretty good.
Host 2
What's he. What's he out here chasing?
Host 1
Eighteen hundred pounds.
Travis Kelce
No way.
Host 2
God bless.
Travis Kelce
He's gotta. He's got to be on that TRT or something, right? He might have the strongest Achilles of all time.
Host 2
Of all time. That Achilles is needed. That NBA this year.
Host 1
Gotta be on something.
Host 2
Gotta be on something, right? I mean, now for sure.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah. But when he played. He was undrafted. You ever see the interview rumors? Have you seen the interview of him? Like, I think it's like his first couple years in the league or whatever, and a guy sits down, he's like, so talk to me about the combine. He goes, you, I didn't go to the combine. He goes, oh, well, talk to me about draft night. He's like, you don't know me, do you? He's like. He's like, I wasn't drafted. And the guy's like, oh, I guess I don't know you. He takes the microphone off and just leaves. And you just hear the report be
Travis Kelce
like, this fucking guy. They had him at fullback. Jesus.
Host 2
Yeah, that's insane, bro. Like, have you seen a more intimidating figure than him?
Travis Kelce
No way. That's him. That's him.
Host 2
No way.
Sponsor Voice 1
16
Travis Kelce
with the neck roll.
Host 1
Massive neck roll. Look at those pads.
Travis Kelce
Look at the one where he sprawled out with the ice on it.
Host 2
Yeah. What's that one right there? You know he went back and played.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. Can stay, baby. Let's go. Northeast Ohio Golden Flashes.
Host 2
They haven't won a game in a few years, have they?
Travis Kelce
I think since Julian Elman was quarterback. What's the most wild look that used to be the. That used to be media day. Isn't that nuts?
Host 1
We're have you jump up. We're going to get some photos of you in the air. What's the most wild off field story that your mother hasn't heard that she would be shaking her head at?
Travis Kelce
Oh, my God.
Host 1
Listening to this right now?
Travis Kelce
I don't know. I think my mom's heard them all
Host 1
like an oldie that you might bring up now that it's, you know, years and years back.
Travis Kelce
I got nothing I can share, man. They're all. They're all deep. They're all deep down there. Never, never get brought back up.
Host 1
The law, where you kind of keep came out unscathed.
Travis Kelce
No, I've always been good with the law, man. I. I'm a criminal justice major at the University of Cincinnati, so I understand the law. I knew how to stay out of jail. You know, some strategy. Yeah. I was like, listen, I'm not gonna know how to read, but I know how to stay out of jail.
Host 2
I think if you had to pick one or the other, that's the one you pick. No doubt about it. So. Never went to jail, huh?
Travis Kelce
Oh, you son of a.
Host 2
What is that?
Travis Kelce
You're gonna bring up that.
Host 2
What is this?
Travis Kelce
You're gonna take me, right? I thought we were done talking To Super Bowl.
Host 1
It was fire. Any old photos that you look back at, you're like, ah, that wasn't everything.
Travis Kelce
The worst thing I ever did was the dating show. Oh, catching Kelsey was the worst thing I ever did.
Host 2
Why?
Travis Kelce
It didn't. I don't know if it's. It didn't set me up for anything. It was. I didn't realize what reality TV really was. And it just was. The experience was. That's not even my body.
Guest or Additional Host
Set you up for slander.
Travis Kelce
You know what I mean? Yeah, well, not even that. It was just. It was. I don't even think anybody watched. Was just 50 women from 50 states.
Host 1
This is after your rookie year. So this is after the. My knee, my knee. Look at that knee.
Travis Kelce
Look at that knee.
Host 1
Go get a Kelsey.
Travis Kelce
Go get a Kelsey.
Host 1
Everyone's questioning why they drafted.
Host 2
This is it.
Travis Kelce
I was like, yeah, I'm having fun. I'm having fun. I'm having fun. And then I was like, oh, everybody is gonna be able to see this forever. Like, God damn it.
Host 1
They're all. Everybody in the organization is kind of like, is Kelsey gonna work out? Like, he was kind of injured. He's got this fake little knee injury. He's on your doing reality tv. Do you think he cares about the game?
Host 2
Yeah. What is. What is that first team meeting like?
Host 1

Julian Edelman
This is Julian Edelman from Dudes on Dudes with gronk and jewels. All right, real quick. Take a look at yourself right now.
Host 1
Why? What's wrong?
Julian Edelman
Nothing's wrong. You look like a guy running on three hours of sleep and vibes.
Host 1
Okay, yeah, I'm tired, kind of cranky and very thirsty.
Julian Edelman
Congrats.
Liquid IV's clinical studies. Not just a guy I know real science. Results you can trust.

is Bethany Frankel from Just Be with Bethany Frankel. Let me be blunt. Most dog food is junk. It just is. And I'm not feeding junk to Biggie and Smalls. That is why they eat just food for dogs. It's real 100% human grade food with ingredients I actually recognize. Not mystery pellets pretending to be healthy. And once I switched, the difference was obvious. Host 2
not going back after the show airs.
Travis Kelce
I mean, I was getting smoked all season for that. Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
That's fun, though. I mean, it's locker room banter. It's all fun.
Host 2
Yeah, but if you get on the field, drop a pass or something like that, be like, I should have done that.
Travis Kelce
I forget what year I think. I think I had a pretty solid year after that. So I still showed up.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
So it wasn't like I wasn't being accountable. It was just being like, hey, how about we figure out something else out to do? You know? How about we figure something out?
Host 2
So was that not renewed for a second season?
Travis Kelce
Even if they asked me to do it again, I would be like, hell, no.
Host 2
How soon after that were you like, I'll never do this shit again?
Travis Kelce
About halfway through. Oh, no, I was filming it. I was like, I. I'm in for my head right now.
Host 1
Seems like there are a lot of good personalities on the show.
Host 2
That one girl had nice biceps.
Travis Kelce
A lot of people trying to, you know, make it big in old Hollywood. They said 50 from each state. It was more so like. Like 50 from LA that can tell you they have a relative that lives in another state? No, it was hilarious.
Host 2
That's just wild. And your agent said, do it?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, I said no to it about five times.
Host 1
We have any word on Battle Camp Season 2?
Host 2
I haven't heard anything yet. I did. I mean, I showed you that text today.
Host 1
Oh, you did?
Host 2
I don't think we can talk about that yet, though. I don't think we can publicly talk about that.
Host 1
Is it in your contract that you can't talk about it?
Host 2
I don't want to mess it up.
Sponsor Voice 1
We got to get ahead.
Host 2
Got to get ahead.
Guest or Additional Host
Promo.
Host 2
All I need to say, if you're hearing this right now, make sure you vote. Make sure you vote.
Host 1
Yeah, we're not going to say. What is more, deny that there's a nominee for something.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Just know that we got to be ready. Boots on the ground.
Host 2
Boots on the ground. We gotta vote.
Host 1
We gotta vote.
Host 2
We gotta vote. So. But no word on the. No. It has not officially greenlit a second season of Battle Camp.
Host 1
Did you watch any of the. The Battle Camp.
Travis Kelce
I didn't catch it now.
Host 1
Oh.
Host 2
Widely expected to be renewed due to a strong reception.
Travis Kelce
I didn't know that you guys watch Catching Kelsey to have, like, a chance.
Host 2
You didn't watch my show.
Host 1
I see the clips that come out on the Internet every now and then.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's crazy.
Host 2
You didn't watch any of Battle Camp?
Host 1
No, I don't.
Host 2
Do me a favor.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
When you get home.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Just go to Netflix.
Travis Kelce
Okay.
Host 2
Type in Battle Camp.
Travis Kelce
Got you.
Host 2
Play the show. I don't care if that's me. I don't care if you even don't watch it. You just walk away. Go make yourself some food. But I need that. I need those views. I need you to go rip those.
Travis Kelce
I'll get in there. I'll get in there for you.
Host 2
That'd be outstanding. Look at that, dude.
Travis Kelce
Look at that. Jack.
Host 2
Come on. You like that, Jack?
Travis Kelce
You're killing it.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
How'd you like that?
Host 2
It was definitely different. I liked it a lot. I would definitely do it again.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 2
But the location and that, it was like an hour to and from one way. So it was like two hours of travel every single day. It was a lot. I was away from my family, so I think if we do a season two, if I can bring my family and do all that, then I'm in.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 1
Because it is.
Host 2
It's not a heavy lift, and it is a lot of fun to see how that world works, which I really enjoyed.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
Gotta vote. Gotta vote when it comes out.
Host 1
Sure.
Host 2
July 7th. Yeah. Dude. Last year when we were here, there's like, obviously all the hype. You guys just won a Super Bowl. Your. Your relationship is very fresh, and you're just on. You're. You become an A list celebrity. What are some things that. It's been over a year since we've seen you that you're like, I miscalculated this a little bit as far as, like, how much exposure, how much publicity you get everywhere you walk.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it's just the. The being. I want to say, being. It's just the paparazzi. That's probably the only thing I didn't really grasp until. Until you're in it. And that's probably the craziest part, though. Like, I'm just playing golf and all of a sudden in the trees, there's a guy with a camera and it's
Host 2
like, yeah, we're in a ghillie suit.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. Like, oh, like, I gotta go to the restroom now. I can't just go over here and take a piss.
Host 2
Right.
Travis Kelce
You know what I mean?
Host 1
Like, I can't just.
Travis Kelce
No, no.
Host 2
Be polite. It's gotta.
Travis Kelce
Never been ashamed of slamming beers. Just don't want my. My meat on page six, You know? I mean, like, you gotta. You gotta go to the restroom.
Host 1
This is like the first season where she's not touring.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
And she'll be at a lot of the. She'll be at a lot of the Kansas City games.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. I mean, she's. She tried to get to as many as she could last year, and she came to a lot, so. Yeah, we'll have to.
Host 1
And stuff too. You guys are just all over.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, we're having fun with it, man. Yeah. Being a couple, dude, you already know. It's. It gets thrown out there as. It's like we're trying to seek attention every now and then, but it's like we're just enjoying life and having fun. Going to hockey games.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Kind of introducing her to some of. Some more of the sports world that
Host 1
she has a Stanley Cup.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. That was fun, man. Hell of a game.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
You get a. A pulled goalie last second, five on six, and score a goal with it with like four seconds left. That was epic.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Hockey's one and overtime. Hockey in the playoffs. Yeah.
Host 1
The. The fan base is wild. When we were at. Not the super bowl, the draft. Remember when we went up on top of the. The Bud Light thing and this family came over there, wanted to get a photo, but the. The wife, the lady was kind of like. She approached me me. She's like, yeah, I know who you are. I don't. I don't really. I don't really like your stuff. And she kind of hits me with like, the little swifty thing, and I'm like, what. What happened? Like, what's going on? I'm a big fan of you guys. She's just like, you know, you just did a couple things that. And I'm just thinking, is it just the trolling of the Chiefs? Like, are you just a kind of a Chiefs fan now and you've seen me troll the Chiefs? Because I'm thinking, what the did I do? That was wild. It was weird.
Guest or Additional Host
She was like 45 and just stood on business.
Host 1
I was like, look, I'm the same up. We're on the same team. Like, do I want you guys to win the Super Bowl? No, I still love my boy trav.
Host 2
Yeah. 45 year old white women. They're the most.
Host 1
They.
Host 2
They will stand 10 toes down on anything.
Host 1
She let me know too. She let me know. So she's watching. I'm sure she might be watching because we got travel on like, why is he going on their show?
Host 2
Dude, Titan, you.
Travis Kelce
Yes, sir.
Host 2
Dude, is this it? How much bigger can it get?
Travis Kelce
It blows my mind. It's crazy how we raised over I think 900, 000 last year alone for charities.
Host 2
That's wild.
Travis Kelce
It's. It's just dope that we keep getting like the, like a lot of the main guys in the tight end community, like George is up in that thing every single year. Greg is obviously they're the ones hosting it. And it's just cool to see 80 tight ends in the NFL come together for a weekend. It blows my mind.
Host 2
Hang out.
Host 1
Yeah, you guys have created. We've got like pioneered your own like
Travis Kelce
less and less position group football.
Host 1
Like. Yeah, yeah, dude, I saw on the. It's only. I'm kind of one day on the field.
Travis Kelce
I'm struggling out there. Day two, I am like, I am leaking bud lights and I am just trying to figure out how I'm going to explain a route concept that. Yeah, I pull up. I pull up. Absolutely. Face from the night before. And I. And Greg comes up and he's like, all right, Travis, you got 30 minutes. I'm like, 30 minutes of what?
Host 2
Yeah, route concepts while you're literally just draining.
Travis Kelce
You're draining. Here we go. What are we gonna do?
Host 2
It's.
Travis Kelce
It's crazy how break out some combs tight ends.
Host 2
You, Greg and George have beg made it like a wholesome name. Like you put tight ends on the board.
Travis Kelce
Well, it's. I feel like. And you guys can attest to this. A lot of the tight ends are like, whatever you need. I'm here for the good time. Like, I'm a hard work. I'm one of the hardest workers, but at the same time I'm here to have some fun. I feel like naturally that's where the tight end world is. So you get those guys from every single team and everybody's just kind of bringing. When you bring them together, it's just like a big kick it. And sure enough, when you're getting like starting tight ends from all over the place, it feels like it's like an all star, like atmosphere, like an all star weekend atmosphere, a Pro bowl atmosphere, and you start to kind of, I don't know it. It's really like taken off until, like, one of my favorite, like, three days before the season even starts. Shit's fun.
Host 1
And then it doesn't matter where you're at on the roster, like, any of the younger tight ends that come in. It's like, you see the culture and community that you guys have built.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
And it's just like, I don't know. If I was a young guy, I'd be walking away feeling like, oh, man, it is sick to be a part of this.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. And it's. And it's reassuring because the inability can get so tedious and, like, focused and, like, so serious. And when you had George up there, you know, making jokes about, you know, what he's doing, or you see me out here just, like, laughing about how I got locked up on a play, it's like, you. Can you see that? All right. Everybody has these ups and downs, but you can still have fun doing this.
Host 1
Yeah. 100 with the.
Host 2
How did National Tight End Day come about? That's, like, a real thing. Celebrated now.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, I think that. I think that's through George. George is the. He is tight in you. His family. He lives here in Nashville. His family. So many.
Host 1
So many players, I feel like move here just to go train at that bar.
Travis Kelce
Dude. It's epic. It's epic. And that's a hell of a setup he's got over there.
Host 2
Hell of a setup.
Travis Kelce
But, yeah, I think his family helps, like, run it. I know Claire helps a lot with the significant others. And it's just he. He's embodied kind of the. The fun aspect of tight end. You and, like, what it means to be a tight end and how much you can enjoy doing it, but still being, like, a tenacious.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
I don't think I've ever seen somebody have more fun playing football than him.
Travis Kelce
Dude. It's so. He's the best.
Host 2
He is the best.
Guest or Additional Host
Is there a young George out there that you could see carrying the. The Titan flame just personality wise? Doesn't even have to be obvious. Talent's crazy fun, dudes.
Travis Kelce
I don't think there's another George out there. No, not in terms of, like, personality. There's only one. Yeah, he's only. There's only one of those guys. You got to be. You got to be batshit crazy and, like, football smart.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
I just. I just haven't found. I haven't seen anybody like that. We got Shocky. We got Shocky this year. I haven't met him. How about that? Haven't met him yet, man. Pumped.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
He was One of my favorite guys. When I moved the tight end, I was like, dude, it'd be sweet if I could have the intimidation that Shocky had on the field.
Host 2
Just dream of throwing somebody else's helmet.
Travis Kelce
Look at this dude, man.
Host 2
Get hit over the middle.
Travis Kelce
The locks coming out the dude.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Are you kidding me?
Host 2
I mean, that's all time.
Travis Kelce
He's so badass.
Host 2
So badass.
Host 1
You want to hit him with the bud Light Question. Yeah.
Host 2
Travis. Kelsey. Anybody would do anything for a bud Light.
Travis Kelce
Okay.
Host 2
What is something that you would do anything for? Can't say. Family. Got three super bull rings.
Host 1
You got it all happy.
Host 2
Part of Happy Gilmore.
Travis Kelce
Done a lot. Done a lot. I would say, man, God damn this. Everything just screams, win another Super Bowl. I would do anything for. I would do anything. I'm lame. You guys have such hard questions. Every time I come on here.
Host 2
Hard. This is a tough one.
Travis Kelce
You hit me, and you hit me with one last time. I was sitting here silent as.
Host 2
It's okay. Sometimes the viewer needs a break.
Travis Kelce
Do anything for.
Host 1
Best part is we. We got editing power too, so we just make it seem like you had one ready to go.
Guest or Additional Host
What was George's his answer?
Host 2
I think his was a Super Bowl.
Guest or Additional Host
Oh. Because y' all asked, like, would you go to prison for a year?
Host 2
Yeah.
Guest or Additional Host
If you got the one super bowl,
Travis Kelce
go to prison. I mean.
Host 2
Oh, you do anything for a guitar with. Kelsey is known for saying he do anything for a good time.
Travis Kelce
I'm here for a good time. Yeah.
Host 2
Per chat. Gbt.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. Can't always believe Chad GBT looked up a few of those, man. I would say, I mean, I'm just gonna go Super Bowl. I just want to. I want to end this season without that sour taste in my mouth. So I do anything for. To be on the other side of the mountain again. Yes.
Host 1
That's wild. You already have three.
Host 2
It's kind of selfish.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 1
Yeah. If anything, I think that's a little
Host 2
like you remember 2019 when you took a Super bowl opportunity away from me.
Travis Kelce
I mean, it was a good game, though. You.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
It was a beautiful day in Arrowhead, huh?
Host 2
You remember after the game, dab me up. Hey, bro. Great to see you.
Travis Kelce
I didn't say great to see. I say great game. Great to see you having a great game.
Host 2
You're trying to be homies. Yeah. Which I did appreciate and love.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 2
But also, you took something from me.
Travis Kelce
No, I didn't.
Host 2
I'll never get.
Travis Kelce
I might have. I took it more from him than I ever took from Him. What did you take from him, huh?
Host 1
What'd you take from me, huh?
Host 2
He played like two games his whole career in the playoffs.
Host 1
Yeah, we played against. I was never even on that. Well, against the Ravens. Ravens. I wasn't on the Ravens.
Host 2
When they went.
Host 1
When we played the Ravens. You were up in the suite.
Host 2
Oh, that's right.
Host 1
You were up in the suite filming me being a demon on kickoff.
Host 2
That's right. We got to resurface that video, too. I took a bit. This is the year I had my ACL torn, and I was taking a video of every snap Will took, and he. I think he touched three people the entire game.
Travis Kelce
He's out there running around.
Host 2
He was.
Host 1
It was all Touchmax on the sideline, dabbing up A.J.
Travis Kelce
brown.
Host 2
Yeah, dude. Yeah. Super bowl would be nice. Be good. What would you do for a four Super Bowl? What would you like?
Host 1
I think is he would do anything to have a thousand yard season, get this franchise touchdown record and cap it off of the super bowl, only to sail off into the sunset and not need football again.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. With a focus on Super Bowl.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, but that'd be nice.
Host 2
Like, those are your minors. The thousand yard season, the record.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, but you're major. I stopped throwing. I stopped throwing the. The yards in there. I just want to get done.
Host 1
You stopped throwing them in there because you failed to get the consecutive thousand.
Travis Kelce
No.
Host 1
You're like, all right. The yard.
Travis Kelce
Well, I mean, I chose not to play that game.
Host 1
Oh, that's right. That's right.
Travis Kelce
It just isn't about the yards for me anymore. It used to be. I used to want to get a thousand yards every year. Every single year. Like, that was like the milestone and that you were elite in the league, especially at the tight end position.
Host 1
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
But then I just, like, it's more important to get dubs. I feel like getting that message to the teammates was way more important.
Host 2
It's very easy to say that when you're a first ballot hall of Famer, when you're Travis Haze in the barn. Yards don't call it quits. Right now. Five years from now, seasons.
Host 1
Well.
Host 2
And I are doing your induction speech. My boy Travis, he did it.
Host 1
Yeah. If you need us, phone call away because you're gonna do a lot for us. So we're just letting you know,
Host 2
brother, we're available. You know we love you. We'll do that.
Host 1
Give you a hell of an introduction,
Host 2
but it is a hell of a luxury to sit there and be. I'm not worried about yards like your legacy Is cemented regardless of what happens this season. And that's got to be a badass feeling.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, but it's still. The.
Host 1
The.
Travis Kelce
The taste in my mouth from the last game is still.
Host 2
That is a true athlete.
Travis Kelce
I can't. I can't. I don't feel comfortable. You know what I mean?
Host 2
Can't only the paranoid survive? That's all I got. That's all I have. That was my bar for the day.
Host 1
Travis, this was great. We'll see you August 28th on the sideline. Pre game.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Little pre game presser. We'll get the stare down going.
Travis Kelce
Let's go.
Host 1
And.
Host 2
Yeah, go ahead, finish that thought. No, fish. A thought.
Host 1
He's gonna know. He's gonna know after the first quarter. He's gonna know after the first draft. The first quarter, he's gonna know.
Travis Kelce
Come on, man. Can't come at us like that.
Host 1
I'm gonna pull. He's gonna look at me on the sideline after he's scoring the first drive.
Travis Kelce
What's your. What? What?
Host 1
I'm gonna pull out a Magnum, I'm gonna look at it, and I'm gonna throw it in the trash can back. We don't need one outside of clean. Yeah, don't eat that.
Host 2
Yeah, but they pull our roast spark, we don't need that either. Right now we do the roast sparking. Throw the row sparking.
Travis Kelce
What. What's your guys like? What are you guys good like? Passing team.
Host 1
We're going to be good passing team. We're going to be a good running team. We're going to be solid on defense. We're a little lighter in the ass because we lost a couple.
Travis Kelce
Oh, that's the last thing you'd see that.
Host 1
Yeah, we lost a couple big dogs in the middle.
Travis Kelce
See, that's where.
Host 1
That's where we have a better offensive line. Dylan Rayola, another year in the system. You know his old man, Dominic Raola. This is a kid who comes into the system. He knows every check, pedigree, every pass protection that there is. He knows how to check at the line of scrimmage.
Travis Kelce
Is this true?
Host 1
He's got weapons on the outside. Yeah. Dominic Raila. Yeah. Thirteen years in League 12, 13 All Pro.
Travis Kelce
No, I'm talking about his son. His.
Host 1
Yeah, that's his. That's his boy out there.
Travis Kelce
Yeah. And he's. He's on the same level mentally.
Host 1
He's on. Yeah, he's on a level mentally. I was talking to the OC and we were. You know, I'll keep those conversations private.
Travis Kelce
Satterfield's brother.
Host 1
Holgerson. Dana Holgerson.
Travis Kelce
Oh, all right.
Host 1
He wears the. He wears the boys red hat on the sideline. J.P. knows what I'm talking about.
Travis Kelce
Okay, okay, okay.
Host 1
We hired him mid year. Went on a little run there at the end. Oh, West Village.
Travis Kelce
I remember this dude. Yeah.
Host 2
Always stumbled on Iowa.
Host 1
Went on a run at the end of the year, but second to last game of the year. We stumbled. Stumbled with Iowa.
Host 2
Wait, I was the second to last game of the year.
Host 1
I was like our last regular season game because, you know, we went bowling. Bad boy mowers Will.
Host 2
Still in the cat Boy mowers. Keeping the bowl game when you win.
Travis Kelce
What was the best bowl game you went to when you were there?
Host 1
Capital one, Part of the New Year's six.
Host 2
And here we go. Will, what'd you do?
Host 1
Pick six.
Travis Kelce
Pick six. That boy was bowling.
Host 1
His trip's far gun. The X was nasty. And there's a little tip on the sheet. 100 of the time, they'd run a, you know, the extraordinary drag. And they're trying to get you with the. With the running back mid screen.
Travis Kelce
Let's go.
Host 1
Sniffed it out right when he was coming down like a fast shot out of hell. Give Murray. Took it. Took it. Did a little spin.
Travis Kelce
Guy's a ball player.
Host 1
Here it is right here. We got the clip pulled up. I don't know how we found it.
Host 2
I don't know how we got it so fast.
Host 1
Why do you see a trips far gun? X is nasty. He's inside the numbers. For those watching, he's inside the numbers. That's what we mean by nasty.
Guest or Additional Host
Load screen is brutal.
Host 2
Oh, no.
Host 1
Come on, guys. I got Travis here. I gotta show on this play.
Travis Kelce
Window.
Host 2
This is crazy.
Guest or Additional Host
We do. If we're trying to wait for it to load some shout out. No free shout out. Could be in order because our guy Demetrius, he said he came prepared in case the opportunity came up.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, he got me last.
Host 2
Oh, you're ready.
Travis Kelce
Here we go.
Host 1
Check this out. Slipped up on him. Oh, can you hit the rewind? Can you hit the rewind?
Travis Kelce
Who the fuck is that? Aaron Murray.
Host 1
Yes, bro.
Travis Kelce
God damn it, Aaron.
Host 1
Todd Gurley was on that team.
Travis Kelce
Keith Marshall, you can't stare 51 right in the eyes and throw it right to him.
Host 2
Yeah, you thought this guy.
Host 1
You thought his guys were gonna get the block.
Travis Kelce
He didn't respect you at all. He's like, no way. This guy can catch.
Host 2
The catch and spin is impressive. Oh, double clutch, though.
Host 1
I thought I was 40 yards out. I guess it was just 25.
Travis Kelce
You guys won that game.
Host 1
We won the first half.
Guest or Additional Host
They named the games after you.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
Yeah. New Year six. That's why they named it the Pick Six on New Year's Day. Did you know that?
Travis Kelce
No, I didn't even know you guys. I didn't even know you guys went to the bowl.
Host 2
What year is this?
Host 1
2000. The year was 2013 because the new year just kicked off. But it was the 2012 season.
Host 2
We played that year, didn't we?
Host 1
Yeah, we beat you guys. We earned our black shirts. You guys averaged two yards of carry. This is your senior year. Yeah.
Host 2
Okay.
Host 1
Last game of. My last game of my life. In college ball. You had to send. You had to go off, right? I did my part. Listen, I got us up 13, 6.
Host 2
That's crazy. I got us up 13, 6. Bush took care of the rest.
Host 1
Yeah, we had the lead.
Host 2
God, I don't know.
Travis Kelce
What was your last. Last game?
Host 2
Last game? Buffalo Wild Wings bowl, which is also Tempe Arizona. My last game in high school was also in Tempe, Arizona and we played Kansas State and we got donkey stomped like 44 to 14. Yeah. Shout out. Russell Bellamy, our quarterback.
Host 1
What was the best boy you played in?
Travis Kelce
I got in against Tim Tebow in the Florida Gators at the Sugar Bowl. Oh, yeah, we. I think Tim and tebow threw for 500 yards. And we all know he's not much of a thrower.
Host 1
Yeah.
Host 2
Kind of went off.
Host 1
Yeah, he did.
Travis Kelce
He had his career day against the old Bearcats.
Host 2
Solidified first round draft pick.
Travis Kelce
Yep. We gave it to. Yep.
Host 2
Because they got. Who'd they lose to? Ole Miss that year and then that's gonna lose the national.
Travis Kelce
They did. They did a 30. They did a 30 for 30 on that team and they didn't show the last game they played. I was hoping we were going to get a cameo. They didn't even show many points you guys put up. It was. I had one carry for 22 yards.
Host 1
One carry.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, it was back when. My QB days. No, back in my QB days.
Host 1
You're playing quarterback.
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
So you were getting killed.
Travis Kelce
It was second half. Yeah, we were getting smoked.
Host 2
Murdered. 51, 24.
Travis Kelce
Yep. I was a part of that second half surge, though. You see us
Host 2
second half, sir.
Host 1
But he.
Julian Edelman
He came.
Host 1
He came with something for the shouting.
Guest or Additional Host
Every shout out if we.
Travis Kelce
Oh yeah, he's got the jersey on.
Host 2
Why don't you start us off?
Travis Kelce
I don't know if we can throw. Kick us off. Let's go meet Cincinnati Bearcat as well. Let's go.
Host 1
Me?
Travis Kelce
Let's go.
Host 1
He gonna be there on August 28th?
Travis Kelce
Yeah, he is. You know, will you. I've been hearing a lot of chirps. I've been back here quiet, you know, but it's gonna be cats by 90.
Host 1
Cats by 90.
Host 2
I was wondering why you're so quiet back there.
Travis Kelce
Just waiting, Taylor. Yeah, but shout out. No free shout out. What did I say last year? Shout out to all the plumbers last year. But, oh, this year he's clogging some toilets. Sometimes when you're in a quick buy and you need something good to eat, you know, you start scrolling on UberEats. DoorDash is terrible. UberEats. I'm UberEats all day. You know what I mean? Shout out to all those delivery drivers out there slumming the streets, delivering that hot, fresh food from wherever you decide to, you know, press submit on. You know, man, they're the real MVPs out there.
Host 1
Damn.
Travis Kelce
That's a big old son right there.
Host 2
Wearing shoulder pads in that jersey right now, dude. Oh, that's your talk. What?
Travis Kelce
Nothing.
Host 2
Oh, did you say something about tear talk?
Host 1
Do you got a shout out, J.P.
Guest or Additional Host
i can give one if we need to. Give them my shout out. No, free shout out would be. We're talking about reading earlier when you're in elementary school and either your name or your friend's name comes up in the text that you're reading in the book for class. So it's like Michael went to the store to grab five apples, and you look over at your boy Michael, you're
Host 1
like, you're in the book.
Guest or Additional Host
And I feel like it's always hype when your name gets featured in your, like, elementary school school book.
Host 2
All right.
Guest or Additional Host
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Okay.
Host 2
Solid. Very nice. Very nice.
Travis Kelce
Okay, my shout out, new for Shout out this week, goes to, goes through my 2019 Susquehanna football team. We got an email where we got notified, I think, like a week ago, that we, our team, is getting inducted into the ring of honor for our college.
Host 2
The whole team.
Travis Kelce
The whole team. Nice. There you go. Yeah, man. September 6th, I will be up at Susquehanna accepting that. So I won't be here. Oh, yeah.
Guest or Additional Host
This is PTO request.
Travis Kelce
Oh, yeah.
Host 2
So you're not going to be at work? It's Saturday.
Travis Kelce
The captains are accepting it, and I was blessed enough to be a captain, so me, Davey Cole.
Host 2
All right.
Host 1
I see you, Mitch.
Host 2
So, yeah, Mitch is having a record year right now.
Travis Kelce
I thought he was a center for. With that C up there with your Captain. Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah.
Travis Kelce
Nice.
Host 2
Sure. What you got for us, babe? Shout out. No free shout out to the 2019 Susquehanna roster. They're getting inducted into the Ring of Honor, and my boy Mitch is going to be there.
Host 1
He was a captain on the team.
Host 2
Nice. Good. Hey, great shout out. Great shout out. Will.
Host 1
I don't have one on me right now.
Host 2
I'm gonna steal one. Last week, JP Was going on a bachelor party. Wasn't excited about going on that bachelor party yesterday. I decided to call J.P. but, hey, was it worth it? Quickly says yes. Drives however many hours. You did drive for eight hours.
Guest or Additional Host
It took eight hours to get back because traffic.
Host 2
Right. So let's say six hours there, eight hours back, just to spend one day with his boy, who he's known for a long time. And the one thing that resonate. Resonated with me in that conversation was the gratitude text from your boy saying, hey, I appreciate you making the time. Thank you for coming out. I know we don't get to hang out as much, and I feel like anytime you see one of your friends or you do something, you go the extra mile from one of your old friends that you haven't seen in a long time and you get that text text, you realize you're on the right path in life. So shout out the gratitude text.
Host 1
Do you need me to give one?
Travis Kelce
Yeah.
Host 1
I'm back and forth between violent shits in our fire department
Guest or Additional Host
together.
Host 1
No, this is two separate shout outs. I'm gonna shout out our. Our fire department.
Host 2
Okay.
Host 1
The ambulance crew. I haven't told you this story. I told it last night on for the Dads. But Rue was choking on a coin. Rue was choking on a coin. Was. I was sitting at the kitchen island. She was having lunch. We're talking routine lunch. Charles was playing with Scotty on the couch. And Rue wanted Charo to do this magic trick that Charles always does for. And Charles, like, I can do it for you later, sweetheart. I'm playing with Scotty right now. But whenever you get done, we can do the magic trick over here. And I'm pumping out an email, so I'm not watching Rue. But apparently there was a coin. A euro. A coin sitting on the kitchen island. Rue grabs the coin. And this magic trick is like whether Char puts in the back of her ear behind her head or comes out, but it seems like it comes out of her mouth.
Travis Kelce
Mouth.
Host 1
Or she puts it in her mouth and it comes out somewhere else. So Rue has the coin, and she's essentially trying to mimic this magic trick so she Puts the coin in her mouth, and she starts choking to where I'm sitting there on my iPad. And I hear gag herself. And I hear. Make the gag noise. And I kind of look over at her. She's got her fingers in her mouth, and she gags herself again. And I just. I just look at her. I'm like, what are you doing? They're thinking, like, you know, she might have found something new that she was, like, doing. I have no clue. I hear Charles say, like, are you choking? I was like, is she choking? She's like, she's joking. She's choking. There's a coin in her mouth. And I stand up and I'm like, what in the is going on? I, like, get behind her, and I start trying to give her the Heimlich. And Charles, like, are you doing it right? And I was like, I think I'm doing it right. And I'm, like, hopping up and down with her, like, right below the sternum, trying to get it up. And Charles just jumps in. Watch out. And she's, like, trying to grip it out of. Trying to, like, reach down her throat and get the coin out. She's like, I feel it. I feel it, I feel it. And she's like, I lost it.
Host 2
I lost.
Host 1
And. And I'm like. Like, I go, what do we do? She's like, call 91 1. I'm gonna. I'm gonna keep trying to scrape it out. So I called 91 1. I'm in an absolute panic. She's trying to get the coin out of roof. She's starting to bleed. There's, like, blood on my shirt because she, like, scratches her in the throat. And I'm on the phone. The call lasts about three minutes and about the two minute mark when they're like, we have somebody on their way, Charles. Like, I. I got the coin again. I got the coin. She rips the coin out of her throat. And Rue ended up being fine. But the emt, like, the fire department, everybody, like, you know, comes over to the house and they just check her for vitals. She turned up. Up fine. But absolute terrifying moment. Insane.
Host 2
How fast were they there?
Host 1
Within, I want to say, like, three minutes from that call. Oh, no, there was, like, somebody coming, like, when the call was happening. She's like, there's somebody coming right now. Because I was like, hey, she got the coin out. She seems to be doing okay. I asked her a couple questions, like, while I'm on the phone, and she's like, well, everybody, they're on their way already. So they're gonna come and just, like, check her vitals and stuff. So shout out the fire department, the emt, the EMT crew, because they're, like, giving us. You know, they're, like, breaking down, like, some of the situation that could have happened. Because I'm thinking in my mind in that moment, if she goes unconscious, like, she could die. That's not like she was like, no. Even if she goes unconscious, you start doing the compressions and just trying to get, like, oxygen to her brain. We would have still got it out had we arrived. Because a coin. The good thing about a coin is it's not like it doesn't break down like food does in your throat to where it can, like, fully close it. Fully close it up. But it's like, you know, they're kind of briefing us on everything that happened, but it was terrifying.
Host 2
What was that talk, like after the
Host 1
real, hey, we're not gonna put a coin in our mouth anymore, are we? And she said, yeah, yeah.
Host 2
That's why it's called magic, sweetheart.
Host 1
I like, you know, Charles in a panic and stuff afterwards. And I was like, maybe we don't teach Scotty that magic trick.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
But you don't think it ended up. It ended up all solid, but it was, like, in that moment. It was hell, buddy. It was scary. Especially when Charles, like, I got it, and she's like, I lost it. It went down further. I'm just like, oh, my God.
Travis Kelce
Oh, my God.
Host 1
And Charles just jumps into, like, superhero mode. Like, you call 91 1. She's, like, scraping it out for real, buddy.
Host 2
Pull that thing out.
Host 1
She's like, you know, knuckle deep. She has, like, bite marks, like, up here on her hand.
Host 2
Dude, we got. So I don't know if we don't have this exact one, but there's something, like that goes over their nose and mouth. And you, like, press a button, and it pulls something out so it, like, will like. Like.
Host 1
That's what we were starting to talk about last night.
Host 2
Yeah. It's not. It's not this, but it's like. It's like more, like, harder plastic. And it kind of goes down, and it has something up there, and you press a button and it shoots it down. It's like spring loaded where it shoots down, and so it can pull something out. Because I've had the thought a couple times with the kids eating something. Like, they'll just eat grapes. And I'm thinking to myself, those grapes are dangerous out there.
Host 1
Yeah. Always slicing them in half.
Host 2
Yeah. Always slicing Them, but then they get older, and you're like, all right, I guess you can have a regular ass grade. And I just get nervous. Get nervous about that choking in pools, man. I get nervous about my kids being in. That's not it either, but, yeah, pools.
Host 1
So what's your shout out, Trav?
Travis Kelce
Dude, I'm over here trying to figure it out, and then I hear how serious this story is, so I haven't been thinking about it at all. Yeah, shout out to your wife, though, man. That's awesome.
Host 1
She jumped into action, bro. It was nuts.
Travis Kelce
You know what? Shout out to the. The Cleveland Heights Tigers, man. Take it back to high school. I haven't been around my city in probably two years, man. And I'm. And I. I literally named a podcast with me and my brother after the upbringing that we had. And I just. I. I love the. I love the areas that I grew up. I love the families that. That helped me kind of become the man that I am today. And I just feel like you can never give enough love to a community that. That. That raises kids the right way, man, so. So shout out. Free shout out.
Host 2
No. For Shout out.
Travis Kelce
No. Free shout out. Cleveland Heights, baby. I love you guys.
Host 1
You and Jason, not to put pressure in that. Sneak them an idea, but host a little live podcast.
Travis Kelce
Yeah, we both got to get back to Cleveland, man. That'd be epic.
Host 1
Explosive shits. I was just gonna say sometimes I enjoy the fight of an explosive. Like when, you know, when, you know you're having a big one and you're kind of fighting, you know, no pun intended, you're kind of fighting your ass off. Off. A little bit of blood in the stool afterwards, and you're kind of like. It becomes a strategy to where, okay, I can't push this out. I'm gonna have to slowly start breaking it down. So you start, like, clamping your ass cheeks in your. So it breaks it down a little bit so you can have a little bit more life to push. And then you don't want to push too hard because, again, you're not trying to get a hemorrhoid. I've had those. Those are hell. So just a little at a time, you squeeze. You push a little harder.
Travis Kelce
We gotta. We gotta start hydrating, man.
Host 1
The way I would explain what is going on. Push a little harder. Harder is almost like when they tell you leave two reps in the bank when you're doing a max out set, so you don't want to go to a full bore where your RPMs are all the way up you want to go just enough. Break it down a little bit more and get it out. And I sometimes I enjoy a nice fight in the toilet. The wind feels good. Yeah.
Host 2
Yeah.
Host 1
That was it between those two.
Host 2
That's insane.
Travis Kelce
A little blood in the stool was wild.
Host 2
What a great time to end this podcast. Thank you, Travis. Kelsey. Yeah, stopping by as always. August 28th. Dude.
Travis Kelce
Oh, it's gonna be pandemonium.
Host 1
