Michael
Welcome to another episode of Busting with the Boys. This is episode number 380. 80, 80. 380. We got Delaney Walker in the house. Taylor's on vacation right now. Shout out the boy. Delaney Walker. A show where the locker room never closes. We have a lot on the docket. First things first, though, are new. The boys diamond hats are back in stock. There are four colorways. You got the. Do we need to say the teams or do we just need to say colorways? Teams that they represent. You got different colorways right here. The red, black, white. Georgia Bulldogs, Atlanta falcons. You got 49ers colors on Delaney's head. You got Michigan, the Michigan Wolverines colorway. You got the Buffalo Bills colorway. Red, white and blue. Maybe you're just a proud American and want to rep the boys. You can do so@bwtb.com what happened over the weekend? Delaney? It's good to see you. It's good to be back. I see you got the new whip.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah, I got the new Whip. Yeah, yeah. ZR1.
Michael
ZR1. What is it. Corvette.
Delaney Walker
Corvette ZR1. Corvette 2026. Blackout Edition. You know, dream car. Yeah, I mean, you know, always. I always love Corvettes. As y' all know, I had a ZR1 2013, 60 year anniversary. Always gotta have a Corvette, you know what I mean? Gotta have.
Michael
Always gotta have a Corvette.
Sherm
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
In 13 years when they, when the ones that start flying come out, I'm gonna trade this one in and I'm gonna get the one that flies in 13 years now.
Michael
So we'll just. I'll just skip over the flying car part. This one right here of. How fast does it go?
Delaney Walker
It's about a thousand and fifty six horsepower. And on the dash, I think it got 232. I even looked 230, 220 on the dash.
Michael
Now you're going to take it to a track and get it, get it rolling eventually.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, you got to break it in. So it's just a process. Once I break it in, get the, the brakes warmed up, the engine all broken in, then I'll take it to a track. Yeah.
Michael
You know how to drive st?
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah.
Michael
You know, just. We was at the track last week. The net was Nashville Speedway Super Speedway. Ripping around, it was like.
Delaney Walker
Was you driving?
Michael
Yeah, I drove.
Delaney Walker
You know how to drive a stick?
Michael
No.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, it was Pat.
Michael
I do now.
Delaney Walker
Oh.
Michael
I wouldn't say, like, if you put me on the street, I would struggle, but knowing that it's just like open road, like on the track. Born 89. I only drove a stick one time in my life, and it was in a parking lot back in high school with one of my boys. And he had like a beater and I didn't do very well in the parking lot, so I just got out. I'm like, bro, I don't, I don't care to drive a stick. Like, my, my Blazer is a automatic, so I just never drove a stick. So that was technically my second time ever attempting the stick. It went smooth. I mean, for, for that, I feel like it was a massive W. They
Delaney Walker
didn't tell you was burning the clutch or anything? Switch shifting?
Michael
No, I mean, doing those things, we were kind of like you're like back and forth, like when I was in like the second or third gear. But like going like, going out was like. It really wasn't that. It wasn't that bad. It wasn't that tough.
Delaney Walker
And you don't drive motorcycles neither, correct?
Michael
No, no, no, no.
Sherm
Okay.
Michael
So I'm not gonna get on motorcycle.
Delaney Walker
It's the same.
Michael
Yeah, you had a. You Got the skin tore off from a motorcycle.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know I'm dangerous.
Michael
Check out the Patrick Willis episode.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Check out that pack. I mean, a lot of people came up to me asking me about that since they saw that episode, which is crazy, but. Yeah, I'm sure nobody back there can drive a stick neither. It's like a thing.
Michael
It's like, why are you just pointing around? That's kind of crazy.
Delaney Walker
Who could drive a stick?
Michael
All of us.
Eli Manning
I feel like I could probably drive them.
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
He said he feel like he never did it. He feel like not doing a dirt bike. And I feel like it's similar.
Eli Manning
It's a similar.
Michael
He'll be. He'd be able to drive it. Clump. Can you drive? I mean, I haven't done it in years, but in Pennsylvania, I learned how to drive stick.
Delaney Walker
Okay.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
Yeah. I mean, of course I know how to do it.
Delaney Walker
Have you? Yeah, of course. Oh, I've never done like that. Like that, Matt.
Michael
I can't drive a stick. My dad, you can tell.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. You look. You gave me them vibes, you know?
Michael
Matt just got a new car as well.
Delaney Walker
I saw it was nice. He put all those damn miles on
Michael
it, but it was 2000. Tell them what kind of car you got. 2014 Volkswagen EOS convertible. Or don't forget that.
Delaney Walker
Sport.
Michael
Sport. It's got Sport mode. Yeah. For people that did not follow our socials last week at Bus and wtb, our. Our young Matthew Malone. We flew him out to Arizona, and he got to essentially get a free car if he drove it back and accomplish a lot of, like, side quests along the way. It was unreal. It was like. I mean, Mitch was there with me. It was the most wild trip I've ever done. I grew. I think I grew up a little bit, too, you know? Yeah, I think I grew up a little bit, dude. I ran into somebody at 8th and Rose. Damn. I'm forgetting his name, but he was. He had some funny stories on you. He was following along throughout the last week. He worked with you. Your mom apparently had a camp, whether it was in the summertime. Yeah, I ran a camp. And you were the janitor? Yeah.
Sherm
Water Boy.
Michael
Was it like, boy or something they called you? Yeah, they call me. They called me Water Boy.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
All the campers. He was pretty. He was way more aggressive than just Water Boy. That's crazy.
Delaney Walker
What kind of case?
Michael
He was like, oh, Nepo baby. Got the janitor job because his mom worked the camp. He was. It seemed like he was A homie? I can't remember. It might have been Daniel or Jacob, but. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
What kind of camp is this for you?
Eli Manning
Well, no.
Michael
No water boy.
Sherm
No.
Michael
My mom's a personal trainer at this community center, and the community center runs a camp. And in college, I would, like. I was part of the maintenance crew, and so the maintenance crew would help with the camp. I know me being a maintenance man is crazy thinking about that. He's in the water division,
Sherm
but.
Michael
Yeah, so I would, like. Part of my job was I would go fill up all the waters around the camp, and I had a. I had, like, a little Polaris, and I just whip around in it. But, yeah, sometimes they would call me a bitch. Made water boy. You said they did it now. They did. Well, it was like a joke. They were the homies. They were just joking.
Eli Manning
It wasn't like real beef, but, like,
Michael
I'd show up, like, all right, well, do you want to be hydrated or not? So that was.
Delaney Walker
How old were these people participating?
Michael
I mean, like, the. Like, it was like. The campers were like. I was like, a youth. Like, kids. Campbell, like, the dude. Like, the counselors and the upper guys were all like, my age. This is what I was doing in college.
Delaney Walker
I was in college.
Michael
I was like. They were all, like, 21, and we're all just like, oh, yeah, made water boy. I'm like, you, like, also. It's not. You're doing arts and crafts, dog. Like, you know, like, we're. I'm doing. We're doing the same. We're both in this. But, yeah, but I got to whip
Sherm
around the Polaris, so that was cool.
Michael
Yeah, we're working for moms. Yeah, for moms.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
Working for moms. But, yeah, that's crazy. Said that, but, yeah, he came up to me. He was fired up. He was happy that you were getting a car. He's like, it's. It's cool. Seeing my boy just in the busing universe, getting content made about him. It was. It was crazy. The best thing was the steak challenge I did. Y' all tune into the live.
Delaney Walker
You didn't do it, so it don't really matter.
Michael
Hey, 41 ounces. How many ounces do you think you could eat?
Delaney Walker
I. I mean, I don't know the whole thing. I probably would.
Michael
Yeah. See, everybody says that, bro.
Eli Manning
It is.
Michael
I could. It was massive.
Delaney Walker
I'll probably. I'll probably do it.
Michael
Delaney.
Delaney Walker
I may surprise you when I say that. That means we might have to run
Michael
it back two seconds.
Delaney Walker
It's actually right before you did this, I saw. I was watching YouTube and saw the same restaurant come up. And then you did it. I'm like, I may have to do it.
Michael
Delaney does. We got to get Delaney does.
Delaney Walker
I don't know about that. Because people was hating on Delaney does. We might change the name. You know, I ain't gonna say who can. I just pointed at him. But I ain't come up with the name.
Eli Manning
What do you want it to be?
Delaney Walker
Cuz was on the name on the. On chat. Who was?
Sherm
Who was?
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Well.
Michael
What? I was on the name.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
How was I on the name?
Delaney Walker
You was like, it's already been done. They gonna be on you.
Michael
I was preparing the haters. I was like, oh, no. The haters, they have no clue who
Delaney Walker
does it before, who does.
Michael
Who.
Delaney Walker
Who said does? At the end of day, you don't
Michael
want to know, bro.
Delaney Walker
Oh, it's like porn.
Michael
Oh, no, only one. There's only one originator. There's only one ever. One ever. Only one originator of. I think it's Donnie Does.
Delaney Walker
Donnie Does.
Sherm
Okay.
Delaney Walker
Donnie Does. That's what I'm saying. I don't want to.
Eli Manning
So then what do you want to do? Like, you got a better name?
Delaney Walker
I don't. I mean, I don't know yet. Let me. Let me figure something out.
Eli Manning
And he did it.
Delaney Walker
It's crazy.
Michael
That's more a. Just to be like. That's more of a. Like, just like a running joke.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I know.
Michael
You didn't, like, know anything when you were having the name of Delaney Does.
Delaney Walker
No, man.
Michael
There's like an inside joke in the. The Internet universe of us copying things that barstool does.
Delaney Walker
Oh, that's what.
Michael
So then when Delaney does comes out, I'm like, oh, they have no clue what just happened.
Eli Manning
Oh, yeah.
Delaney Walker
All the people like, oh, y' all stealing. Y' all stealing names. I'm like, I guess we gotta change the name. I mean, it's. Whatever. It's crazy because my neighbor saw it, and he was like, hey, would you jump out of a plane with me? And I'm like, like, yes. Tandem. He like, yeah. He like, would you do it? I saw you. I saw you do the dirt bike stuff. Would you jump out of a plane with me? He jumps out of planes. And I was like, I mean, I gotta lose some weight, and then I'll do it, because he was telling me I had to be a certain weight. So, I mean, if y' all want to do it, do you have to be able to do it 245. Under 245.
Michael
Under 245.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
It's a few pounds.
Delaney Walker
I like 10, 15 pounds.
Michael
That's easy.
Delaney Walker
That's easy. But he was like, if y' all want to do it, y' all can film it. We'll come. Bring your cameraman. We. It's all set up. He like, they want to. They want you to come. I'm like, bro, that. I ain't never jump on play, but, I mean, I'll do it. That would be.
Michael
I think it's perfect. I mean, you, Delaney, like, you're a man of the world.
Delaney Walker
World. Yeah.
Michael
You're a man of culture. You're a man of experience, adventure.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
Fun.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Eli Manning
We got to go back to Central Missouri.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Nah, you want to go to Central,
Eli Manning
we got to go back to your school.
Delaney Walker
And do what?
Michael
I want to go to Penny Pitcher Wednesday.
Delaney Walker
I don't even know if they have that anymore. I don't even think the factory is open anymore. But if y' all want to go, they'll love y'.
Sherm
All.
Delaney Walker
If y' all put on a live show, y' all will sell out. I swear to God. It's you. No, no, it's them, obviously. When I go back.
Michael
No, bro, that. That. That's the point of Delaney does.
Delaney Walker
I know, but we should all go there, and then I'll do. But to have y' all there, be
Michael
like, you know, spring tours.
Delaney Walker
I don't know what they do.
Michael
Delaney does the Lake of the Ozarks. Oh, nah.
Delaney Walker
Okay, now, we could do that. That shouldn't be crazy, though. Like, that would be fun. We can race a boat. Oh, hell yeah. Like, I mean, like a fast boat. Like, 150 miles per hour boat.
Michael
Yeah, I believe you, bro.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, we could do that.
Michael
Whatever we can do to get this channel going.
Delaney Walker
I got people that. That let us do that. These right here.
Michael
Have you driven one of those?
Delaney Walker
I've been in one of those. I have never driven it personally, but I'm sure if we come and just be like, we want to do Delaney does content, they'd be like, yeah, let's do it.
Michael
Yeah, Delaney does.
Delaney Walker
Got to get going, and I'll bum that bit.
Michael
We need your one year old on the dirt bike.
Delaney Walker
Hey, I'm gonna. I'm gonna send y' all a video of my son. He is sad. I can. I can. He. He stay on the four wheelers. Stay on my bikes. He watch when he turned 2, I guarantee you he gonna be riding a dirt bike. Y' all think I'm playing.
Eli Manning
It was so funny.
Michael
He's like, he's not gonna be two driving a dirt bike, bro.
Delaney Walker
All right, we're gonna see. He's already got that.
Michael
The expectation to. Hey, come on now. You can't this up.
Delaney Walker
He built that 100 foot jump for him. I got.
Eli Manning
He's only two years old, man.
Delaney Walker
My son about to be the next Deacon. I'm telling you right now, he about to get loose. I'm about to get this money.
Michael
I'm just trying to imagine a two year old on a dirt bike.
Eli Manning
That's when you got to start him, though.
Delaney Walker
They. You got to start them young.
Michael
Like, how old are these kids on these?
Delaney Walker
They might be four, three.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Like, you legitimately start around like.
Michael
But you're saying he's gonna be racing three, four years?
Delaney Walker
No, he ain't gonna be racing, but he will be. He will be following me around the property. About time. About two years old right now. He on four wheeler. I just got him the Walmart four wheeler and he busted, like, electric one. The electric one. He already owned that. I got the razor waiting for him. He ain't ready. He don't know how to balance himself. Well, I'm gonna get some training wheels and then see if that works for him. That razor right there.
Michael
You do anything exciting for Mother's Day
Delaney Walker
weekend, man, Just chill with the fam, you know, mom, stay with me now. So we just chilled at the house, sat outside, just rolled dirt bikes.
Michael
What'd you do for your mom?
Delaney Walker
I built a house for her. She don't get nothing. Another day, that house is being built.
Michael
You get her a card.
Delaney Walker
You know what, man? My mom, is she real? She's simple, right? Like, she called me and I hate her. I say, hey, happy Mother's Day. She hit me and said, you got an extra washer and dryer? I said, nah. I said, but I'll get you one.
Eli Manning
She said, I love you.
Michael
That was.
Delaney Walker
That was it. She's like, that's all I need for Mother's Day. I like, I'll get you some. And she literally called me on Monday. I knew that's what it was like. Why you asking me about washer and dryer? Oh, you want me to buy you one? I got. It's done, Ma. I got you. So I didn't get her no card. Like, I said, she. The house is being built. They put in her fan. They was putting her fence in almost.
Michael
She called you on Mother's Day?
Delaney Walker
No, I called. I text her. Okay, I'll text her. I wake up early. You know what I'm saying?
Michael
My mom called me. She knew it was Mother's Day.
Delaney Walker
Hell, no. I text my mom. I said, happy Mother's Day. I love you. And then the phone rang.
Michael
I said, damn. She's on the property, right?
Delaney Walker
Yeah, she on the property. I already knew what time it was. Like, you going to put some money in his account or what?
Eli Manning
I'm get you.
Delaney Walker
I'm going get you a washer and dry.
Michael
You cook for it? Do you like cooking?
Delaney Walker
I do cook for my mom. When I cook for everybody. I just bring her food to her.
Michael
What's your go to?
Delaney Walker
I mean, what do you want?
Michael
Are you gonna break your foot off in a. In a recipe? What's it gonna be?
Delaney Walker
Oh, it's probably gonna be like, Thanksgiving food for sure. Like greens, turkey, fried turkey, greens, dressing, Mac and cheese.
Michael
And you can handle all that?
Delaney Walker
Oh, yeah. I cook it all every year. But if y' all want. If y' all want a whole fish. I don't know if. See, we like Belizean and stuff, so we eat whole fish. I mean, with the mouth, eyes, everything. We just dip the whole thing in the. And batter and then fry it. I do that very well, too. They love that when I do, like, whole fish.
Michael
What's Belizean?
Delaney Walker
Belize.
Michael
What is that? It's a country.
Delaney Walker
It's a country.
Eli Manning
So, yeah, we.
Delaney Walker
We like whole fish and, like, beans and rice. I do beans and rice, whole fish, and then Mac, cheese.
Michael
I don't know if I get on board with the whole fish. Anybody popular? Like, in Greece, they do it like they serve. I get that it's popular. I'm just saying.
Eli Manning
I don't.
Michael
There's got to be better there. There's much better out there than a.
Delaney Walker
Definitely whole fish. Definitely. This is like po. Black people. You see where the police is? We, like, stay. We have no territory, honestly. So, you know, they. We gotta eat the whole fish, man.
Eli Manning
We gotta.
Delaney Walker
We gotta get everything we can out the fish. We don't leave. We don't leave nothing.
Michael
Yeah, I feel you. Delaney, I feel like would be a perfect fit for that Shane Gillis roast last night. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Oh, he was gonna rip me.
Michael
No, I'm just saying, like, the. The racial humor and everything else. It was. Did you watch any of it? Have you seen any of the clips?
Delaney Walker
No, but I love Shane. I can't wait for the bro to come out.
Michael
Shane was on a heater. Shane is on a heater. A heater.
Delaney Walker
He is on a heater. He's hilarious. I I don't find a lot of dudes funny like him, but he cracks me the up, bro.
Michael
The roast last night. You guys all in here watch. I'm sure you've seen clips. Yeah, bro. The jokes are insane.
Delaney Walker
Too funny.
Michael
It's crazy how they go.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, Cat Williams is on there, too. I was trying to watch it because I saw it pop up, but I just. I. I don't know what I did. I was like, man, I gotta watch.
Michael
Because apparently him and Kevin Hart.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
I don't know if everyone realizes that
Eli Manning
was such a big deal for Cat to come out. Like, that was massive.
Delaney Walker
I mean, they don't. They don't really have beef. They comedians, they talk crap about each other, bro.
Michael
I'm telling you, there's some that are in there. All the different comedians. Like, you can tell. Some are more personal than that's been saying to me. I was watching. I was seeing Tony go back and forth with. Who's the chick? Chelsea Handler. You could tell, like, some of that was serious.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I like Chelsea.
Michael
The roast. The roast concept is just wild, bro. Like, they are brutal to each other. I mean, the shit is hilarious. You're sitting there watching, like, man, I
Eli Manning
feel like that's the last thing you want to be a part of. Like, all of the. That nobody knows about, that they know
Delaney Walker
about is going to get.
Eli Manning
Come up to get brought up. And you're like.
Delaney Walker
But Shane probably was the perfect host for that because he. He is, like, borderline, like, pushing this. I love it.
Michael
Well, Kevin Hart's telling him he's on his Mount Rushmore for racists. He's like, him, Kid Rock. I forget the other two.
Eli Manning
He said Stephen.
Michael
Yeah. In the last one, he's like, in Stephen A. Smith.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
And Kevin Hart's like, the perfect vessel, too, because he's, like, easy to take the jokes, like. Like, hey, I'm not a. Give me everything. Give me everything. He was going at Tom Brady at the beginning. Tom comes out. Tom had good jokes. People's blowing up now.
Eli Manning
Tom Crush.
Michael
Yeah, Tom Crush. Whoever wrote the joke.
Delaney Walker
Somebody wrote his jokes.
Michael
Draymond was getting crushed.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Draymond was up there.
Michael
I'm glad people dislike him much as I do. People bring him up in the whole. The whole arena is, like, booing. Then Jeff Ross, like, Steph Curry couldn't make it. He carried Draymond Green all the way here.
Delaney Walker
That would have been. That was cool.
Michael
Then there's a lady up there. There's a lady up there whose husband died.
Eli Manning
Oh, my God. Underwood. Who Something.
Delaney Walker
Oh, Cheryl Underwood murdered.
Eli Manning
Like.
Delaney Walker
But she's so funny, though.
Michael
I haven't seen her set yet.
Delaney Walker
Like, you never seen Cheryl Underwood before?
Michael
I'm saying her set on the roast. I haven't seen her set yet. Like, I've gotten as far as she
Eli Manning
was in my top three of the night. She was unbelievable.
Delaney Walker
But she is a phenomenal. She is phenomenal comedian, though. Like, outside of this. She's OG at this year.
Michael
Now. How did her husband die? He killed himself by jumping off a bridge.
Eli Manning
Jumping somewhere.
Delaney Walker
But is this real, or.
Eli Manning
They brought it up so many times.
Delaney Walker
But I don't mean it was real.
Michael
That's what I'm saying. The jokes about it, him committing suicide, and Tony Inch close. Like, I've sat with her for two hours. I'm surprised it took him that long. Like, bro, they were going in, bro. I'm like, oh, my God, man.
Delaney Walker
Oh, my gosh.
Michael
And what is it? Pete Davidson? Yeah. His dad was a firefighter that died in 9 11, and they're making.
Delaney Walker
No, they wasn't.
Michael
Yes, bro.
Delaney Walker
I gotta watch that.
Eli Manning
There's a movie about it.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, Yeah, I watched that movie. But it's like, that movie. Yeah, that movie was crazy because he
Michael
gets, like, Pete Davidson, he's known to have, like, a. A good roster out there of females that he's hooked up with. And, like, he only picks nine and elevens to honor his old man. And he's out there. He's out there getting all the. He's out there getting all the pussy that his dad deserved.
Delaney Walker
Like, bro, I didn't.
Michael
The roasts are crazy.
Delaney Walker
I didn't.
Sherm
Like.
Delaney Walker
I mean, I didn't. Yeah, I didn't get that one.
Eli Manning
One of my favorite PG jokes was someone said, draymond Green. Green's name sounds like a shitty paint color. They're like, I guess we'll. We'll paint the kitchen Draymond Green.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
And then the rocks. So accurate. The Rock was going on at Draymond's name. The Rock was putting D in front of. In front of Raymond. And I'm thinking, your name is Dwayne,
Delaney Walker
dude.
Eli Manning
The Rock went a little far. Like, he just got super sexual for, like, the.
Michael
The Rock. I only saw the clip of him and Draymond. Like, I've only, like, me watching the roast, I've gotten beyond. I've gotten past Jeff Ross, so I'm not that far into it. Everything else, I've just seen clips on the Internet.
Eli Manning
If everyone Talked for, like, seven to eight minutes, the rock went for, like, 20 like, I think he was just drunk talking. Like, he would not stop. And they're like, all right, wrap it up.
Michael
And he's like, no, no, no.
Eli Manning
He just, like, kept going.
Delaney Walker
So how many comedians were actually there and then everyone else was just his friend? Is that, like, how many comedians?
Michael
There were several comedians.
Delaney Walker
Because the Rock is not a comedian.
Michael
No. Friends go up and, like, you know, people get jokes written for him and everything else, and they just deliver and roast the shit out of Kevin Hart and each person up on the stage. So everybody kind of goes around there, Delaney Walker's here, and then they say a joke about you, and they kind of go down the line and roast everybody.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
No, I've watched a roast before.
Eli Manning
I think, like, eight of them were comedians.
Delaney Walker
Okay.
Eli Manning
Like, eight. Ish. There's a bunch of dudes up there that just sit there that don't ever say anything. Like, his boys that are just in the back row and stuff.
Delaney Walker
I thought they. Everyone come up that said on the couch, though.
Eli Manning
I kind of thought the same thing. But, like, some of those people never came up there. I think, honestly, they were just like his friends.
Michael
I'm excited to watch the rest.
Delaney Walker
I want to see the roast.
Michael
Concept is. Is nuts, bro. What was another one? I was just thinking of Shane had
Eli Manning
the balls to say the jokes that we had to cover.
Michael
Shane had the balls talking about Kevin would have to lynch himself from a bamboo tree. Bonsai. My fault.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
He's, like, talking about Kevin would have to lynch himself.
Delaney Walker
I like him because he pushed the limits as a real comedian. Don't give a. And that's what I like about Shane, man. Like, because what happened to being a real comedian these days? Like, you can't say anything without offending somebody, and it's a joke. It may be some serious behind it,
Michael
but it's, you know how the world. You know how the world works, though, with. With, like, this roast right here in particular. Like, it's all basically jokes, fantasy, all that stuff, but it gets brought into reality because people use these jokes to just fight back and forth with each other on the Internet.
Delaney Walker
That's it.
Michael
Oh, I think this one's hilarious. Oh, yeah. It's because you're racist.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, there you go. That's literally what happens. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But who cares?
Michael
All right, What. What are you searching right here? I was seeing how many comedians.
Delaney Walker
Oh, yeah.
Michael
Listed, and it was. It was eight or nine. Pete Davidson, Chelsea Handler, Dreamline.
Delaney Walker
He not a comedian.
Michael
He is
Eli Manning
Big J Okerson.
Michael
Big J Okerson. Were you at the jelly roll one that was happening at Zany's.
Delaney Walker
I wasn't.
Michael
Bro J. Big J was there. He roasted Taylor and I a few times.
Eli Manning
I was happy to see him get his, like, his flowers up there. Like, he got a spot. The big rose.
Michael
Yeah, yeah. That's just funny, man. Damn.
Delaney Walker
I gotta watch it now.
Eli Manning
It's good.
Sherm
It's long.
Michael
Yeah. What is it like? Almost three hours.
Eli Manning
Felt like I was watching all night. Like, it felt like we'd pause it every now and then, but it was long.
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Three hours. Yeah. I made. I may pass the people who ain't comedians and just get to the.
Eli Manning
I can tell you off camera who to pass.
Michael
Did you. You watched the UFC fights over the weekend?
Delaney Walker
Nah, man. I was. Tootsies had a grand opening in Panama beach. So I was at the Tootsies opening in Panama beach supporting my friends and family up there.
Michael
So how was that?
Delaney Walker
Crazy. It was during bike week too, so it was insane.
Michael
You know your bike down there?
Delaney Walker
No, I was probably the only black person there, but had a vibe.
Michael
You were vibing, though. I already know you.
Delaney Walker
You know me, I don't care. You know what I'm saying? I'll be vibing. Like, who is this walking in VIP like that? Like, oh, I'm somebody. But yeah, I'm somebody.
Michael
You've seen that Strickland one, because I didn't get to catch you either. I was in Missouri for a nice, small town Missouri wedding. My brother, Cody Compton, he got married this weekend. He's the middle of the three. Yeah. So that was awesome. But seeing that Strickland won, I could not believe that he ended up getting the belt with the run. He's kind of had like, the ups and downs over the past couple years. And I know Paramount plus has got to just be. He's just clutching their chairs thinking, like, this dude's gonna be a loose cannon on the mic for us.
Delaney Walker
Love it.
Michael
I kind of hate how they like, their beef leading into the fight was pretty intense and they made it seem like, super serious. And then immediately after the fight, Strickland's just like, no, like, I love Hamza. Like, we're friends. Like, we're told to do this thing and I'm like, I feel like it was the first time that there's been a little bit of, like, fraudulent, like, beef between some guys in the ufc.
Delaney Walker
You don't think that's what all of them know? I'm think. I'm thinking they told to do that to make it more. Yes.
Michael
But, like, before the fight, they had, you know, 20 security people in the octagon. It's like they're not just gonna go like, murder each other.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
I don't know if it was fraudulent or fraudulent, however you say that word, because right after the fight ended, he's
Eli Manning
like, hey, I'm so sorry.
Michael
I went too far. Like, he did apologize to him. So he definitely said it in like a hateful way. But I know what you're saying that I've never seen that many security guards when a fight started. You couldn't even see the fighters in the ring. Yeah, there was like six on each side holding them back like they were gonna fist fight before the fight started. Sometimes, you know, there's just that entertainment value and like, you just see it. We see it in real time now. Like whether it's the Paul brothers or anything hyped up, the big event stuff like with Netflix or just people trying to garner attention to watch an event. And then you see that it's not even close to what they hype it up to be. And that, you know, then people flaunt it being like a money grab or people hating on like, let's say Jake Paul. And then he posts like how much he made or people talk about how much they made. Like there's such an entertainment value that fighters see that it's like we need to do something similar as well. Because then it drives pay per view or drives. Buys. It drives audience, it drives eyes true to where that they can make more money. The fight before was awesome with the Japanese guy. And who do you lose? Yeah, Van, that was epic.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Had the Japanese dude won, they were going to do a card in Japan which would have been epic. Would have been their first one.
Delaney Walker
Wow.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
So. And. But it was a. It was a banger fight, but the middleweight division, to me, I'm just like. It just feels weird. Feels off with Strickland being the champ.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Jim Miller. Another win.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
Shout out to old man Jim Miller. You hit a parlay, didn't you?
Delaney Walker
I did.
Michael
I had a Sean Brady. Shout out to Sean Brady, Philly guy and Strickland. Little parlay. I think it was 1100 little. Nice one. But Sean Brady, that one was kind of crazy. I don't know if anyone saw a pre fight. He was like a heavy favorite. And then maybe like four or five hours before the fight, the odds completely flipped. And he was a dog, which is kind of crazy. Then there was like, oh, he could be hurt, all this stuff. And he went out there and beat
Eli Manning
the shit out of.
Michael
Who was it? I'm gonna forget his name. Whoever it was, he just dummied him the whole fight. And it was like, oh, wait, that was crazy that he was an underdog.
Delaney Walker
So this would be so hard to bet on.
Michael
I just thought, Joaquin Buckley.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
Funny sitting there.
Delaney Walker
UFC is so hard to.
Michael
You just gotta follow clump. You gotta tail clump.
Delaney Walker
I mean, it's. It's any punch, just a slippery punch can knock you out. So, like, it's just hard to say who can. Who's gonna win the fight. And he can choke you out, hit you with a. Just a haymaker, knock you out.
Michael
I mean, flying the flying knee. I have a funny story quick. About Joaquin Buckley. I think I've told JP this story before, but early in my media career, I interviewed him when I was real young, and I got the name to interview him and get on the phone and I say, joe Quim. He's like, it's Joaquim. I'm like, oh, damn it. Damn.
Delaney Walker
You just destroyed that name.
Eli Manning
It was horrible.
Michael
That's a fun fact about me. That was one of my. One of my bad moments. If anyone ever asked me, one of my most embarrassing moments in media, it was that Joe Akeem. You can also follow Moneyline Matthews. He's always hitting bets. Clay loves the UFC, too. Money on the U.S. clay.
Delaney Walker
Clay is a great. Better, but I don't know about ufc, but I. That man.
Michael
I ain't saying Clay will tell you, though. It's live. He lied.
Delaney Walker
He's only live. Only live betting.
Michael
See, Clay can't do the. The. The prediction. I like to feel how the fight's going. Yeah,
Eli Manning
yeah, yeah.
Delaney Walker
Hey, but Clay don't. He don't post nothing. Tell you what, 30,000. Like, hey, you didn't post it. I need to see that account. You know what I'm saying?
Michael
I miss Clay.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I miss Clay. I can't wait for Clay to come back. He coming back, right?
Michael
I think so. As far as we know. Clay will be back.
Eli Manning
That's his favorite line.
Michael
I'm excited. Yeah. Messing with us.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Yeah. I miss the locker room. Yeah. Those are fun days in the office. It'll be a fun. It'll be a fun fall. Speaking of football in the fall, we are the boys. Say, we got a little EA Sports trip lined up this weekend. Are we allowed to talk about that?
Eli Manning
Sure, yeah.
Michael
Yeah, we could talk about it. I mean, we'll be making content. We'll be making content. It won't come out right away, but EA Sports and us will be. But are we able to post content right away? Like us being. We'll be posting social, not for like the things that we're going to be doing. Yeah, yeah, we'll, we'll be posting behind the scenes content. What do we got a fun little trip lined up? Yeah.
Delaney Walker
What do EA Sports do? Like, is it like games or something?
Michael
Madden? Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Oh, Madden.
Michael
Yeah, they do Madden college football. Yeah, they do a bunch of other games, bro.
Delaney Walker
I, I'm 42 years old. I haven't played Madden in a while.
Michael
Yeah, but you know what? He a sports.
Delaney Walker
I know. That's why I was, I was like, damn, EA Sports, like are they gonna go and do like football drills? I was confused.
Michael
We're gonna be in the game.
Delaney Walker
Y' all gonna be in the game.
Michael
Probably. You were, you were in last year's game too. They were. You could draw, drop us from a pack. Ultimate Team.
Delaney Walker
Oh really?
Michael
What was my rating?
Delaney Walker
Trash?
Michael
88. No, you were. You're like one of the highest rated players at the time.
Delaney Walker
Wait, what?
Michael
So the way Ultimate Team works, I'll probably get crushed for this in the comments. I don't fully know, but I'm pretty sure it's like they don't release high ratings as the year goes on till towards the end of the year. So when they were released as 88s, they were one of the highest rated players in the game. 88. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
And what, what position they had you at?
Michael
Linebacker. What are you talking like it's me?
Delaney Walker
Special teams.
Michael
Don't disrespect me like that. There's a 90 special teams positions in the game. Unless it's kicker or punter. He hadn't played in a while. Man.
Delaney Walker
You kicked the ball off still, right?
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
And you return.
Michael
They do have special teams. Yeah, but not like, like what Delaney's like, you know, like right guard on punt.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
Right tackle. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Delaney Walker
Wait, so it's a certain year, right? It's the certain year when you pull that pack. It was that year he was rated that high. Right.
Michael
I was never rated in 88 in Madden.
Eli Manning
It's. It's like a special card. Like it was college football, right?
Delaney Walker
No, no, because the college football has
Eli Manning
an ultimate team as well. So Will would have been like an 88 from when he was at Nebraska.
Delaney Walker
I get it now. In college he was at 88.
Michael
Oh, oh, my fault.
Eli Manning
They got him as a 94 in college.
Delaney Walker
Yes, he definitely was a 94 in college for sure.
Michael
My highest in college was 89.
Eli Manning
Like that's just like a special star.
Michael
I had the star too. I was an impact player.
Delaney Walker
No, I believe it. I give you all that. I can't knock him on this.
Eli Manning
College cannot knock him on that.91 speed.
Delaney Walker
That's a lot.
Michael
That's not a lie, bro. I ran a four.
Delaney Walker
Five When?
Michael
Pro day.
Delaney Walker
Okay. Awareness. His awareness should have been way higher than his speed. Let's be honest.
Michael
I agree.
Delaney Walker
Okay? Let's just. Let's be honest.
Michael
I agree, I agree.
Eli Manning
I change your direction. Only in 81 though.
Delaney Walker
Damn.
Michael
See, he just needs to go downhill.
Delaney Walker
Linebacker. I feel like it's changing.
Michael
My top speed should be lower, but change of direction should be good. Acceleration would be. Should be higher.
Delaney Walker
It should be high. I would give them that. I believe that because the linebackers, they can change directions. Very.
Michael
Playing a phone booth.
Delaney Walker
Yeah,
Michael
yeah.
Delaney Walker
But 80. Yeah. 94. Damn, bro.
Eli Manning
That's crazy.
Michael
So that wasn't mad though, just to be.
Delaney Walker
That wasn't mad. Okay.
Michael
Okay. You might have been in Madden too. I forget. Last year my highest in mad and mad was around 70. Maybe 69. 71.
Delaney Walker
If you're touching 70, you had it.
Michael
They had you listed as a 60.
Delaney Walker
Really?
Michael
For. For mad. Hang on, hang on. Yeah, but hang on, hang on, hang on. No, there's multiple years
Sherm
as well.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Go to his highest. His highest ranking. You got to go to his highest ranking. You can't go to the low because.
Michael
Yeah, you. I mean, you're disrespecting on your ranking. I wonder if you were the lowest ranked captain in the NFL.
Delaney Walker
Wow, that's a good question.
Michael
Well, I have your ratings right here from my. My Guy Bradley, from EA. In Madden, you were a 70. 75 or 70. 70. 75. 72.
Eli Manning
75. I'll take that.
Michael
75.
Delaney Walker
75 is actually.
Michael
That was Madden 18. You were a 75. 85 speed and 18.
Delaney Walker
And you was with the. You was.
Michael
That's when I was with you.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
Well, 18 ratings are kind of up. I would have been that an 18 would be before the year starts. Yeah. So it's going off your reds.
Sherm
So.
Michael
Red skin. You're on the red skin.
Delaney Walker
Okay. Yeah, he was beasting at the.
Michael
You had 85 speed, 73 strength, 82 tackle, 58 catching.
Delaney Walker
58 catching.
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
This one's all state receiver in high school. That's 74 hit power.
Delaney Walker
Oh, I wasn't.
Michael
I wasn't a thumb disrespectful rating though. 83 play recognition.
Delaney Walker
74 hit power. That's not good.
Eli Manning
That's Horrible.
Michael
I mean, that's average. But I look like I wasn't a thumper.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
I was almost like a cowboy tackler, Like a rap tackler.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
You read 89 acceleration.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, that's good.
Michael
That. All right, all right, all right, all right, all right, all right. Let's switch it up. Yeah, let's switch it up. Mitch watched my dog over the weekend
Eli Manning
shout out waffles. She didn't really do a whole lot. Just kind of sat in the bathroom the entire time, and we just watched tv. But your movie theater room is unreal.
Delaney Walker
I appreciate she wasn't gassing it out.
Eli Manning
Watched the Running Room, the Running man with Glenn Powell.
Michael
Oh, great movie.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Like, interesting concept and everything, but, like,
Michael
had the surround sound going, bro.
Eli Manning
The whole room was shaking. Like, it was. It was like the TV and everything. It was unreal.
Michael
And Waffle didn't come up and hang out with you guys when you're watching the movie?
Eli Manning
No, she came up.
Michael
Okay.
Eli Manning
Well, I wasn't, like, sure she was allowed to, but she was like. She was like, the word.
Michael
She Did. She. Did you let her jump on the furry. The.
Delaney Walker
No.
Eli Manning
She was. No.
Michael
Okay, okay.
Eli Manning
When she wasn't allowed on that, because
Michael
usually you'll go up to the theater room, and then you'll hear kind of, like, bumbling, slowly walking.
Eli Manning
She. She followed us up there, and then, like, when it got really loud, like,
Delaney Walker
and, like, shook the whole room, like,
Eli Manning
she would, like, get scared, freak out for a second.
Michael
She was a anxiety dog.
Eli Manning
She was a chiller. Didn't really do a whole lot. Tried to, like, cuddle up with her, but you pet her and you stop petting her, then she'll, like, swat at you to keep.
Michael
What are you doing? Keep giving her the scratches. Did she ever try to alpha you?
Eli Manning
Yeah, I tried. Like, she. The. The two chairs that she's not allowed on. She tried to get up. I'm like, you got to get off. So I, like, tried to, like, pick her up, and she's like, oh, yeah, yeah.
Michael
So I was telling you about the treats you'd use on the. What is it, the mantle? Yeah, but is that what you end up using? Or you got her off?
Delaney Walker
No, I got.
Eli Manning
I just pushed her off as a challenge. Oh, yeah. You up real quick if you want it.
Delaney Walker
I'm shocked. You let somebody.
Michael
That animal brain happens.
Eli Manning
But then. But then she got down. She just looked at me with her.
Delaney Walker
Like, with her.
Eli Manning
With her underbite. I'm like, all right, you're chilling. I just go pet her again and she would be straight, and it was fine.
Michael
Throw the ball at all.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Did you see the tennis ball? I got one of those big tennis balls. I went outside, tried to throw with her. Not very good at fetch. She would just start running away from me when I tried to get the ball.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
And, like, I tried to, like, take it from her, but she just mauled that, like, tore the whole, like. Probably broke the toy. Probably have to throw it out. But, yeah, it kept her busy for about a couple hours.
Delaney Walker
You a good man. Oh, well, because you let this man. How long was he at your house?
Michael
He was there Friday morning to Sunday.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
God damn, you a good man. Why you had to watch my dog at your house, boy?
Michael
What?
Eli Manning
Yeah, boy. What you mean? I mean, I feel like I'm a pretty trustworthy guy.
Delaney Walker
You a trustworthy God. I trust you with a lot.
Michael
Like, would you trust me to watch your house?
Delaney Walker
Not stay there? You can come check on it and then go back home.
Michael
What you got at the house?
Delaney Walker
I got all type of.
Eli Manning
I mean, obviously there's, like, certain parts that are, like, off limits.
Michael
Like, you got stuff you wouldn't want me to see.
Delaney Walker
I mean, if. Honestly, if it was me, I'll have. Some doors would be locked. You'd be like, damn, this door locked. Can't get in there like that. I literally have to lock some doors.
Michael
But you could lock the doors and you could also tell me that, hey, like, these rooms, I got them locked.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I could tell you don't go out, you'll be like, he told me not going. I'm going in next door. I'm gonna see what's in here. I ain't gonna. Honest, I'm not. I'm the type of person you asked me, though. I'm gonna. I'm gonna just watch him at my house. You cool with that? I don't even. Because I'm a. I ain't saying I'm gonna steal now, but I may be looking around like, damn.
Michael
I hear more about the lady.
Delaney Walker
Like, God damn, that boy got this.
Michael
The fact that you're saying, like, I ain't gonna steal nothing, but, you know,
Eli Manning
Waffle sleeps in their room. So, like, I didn't go in their room at all. Like, I would just take the treats, throw it in her bed, and then immediately walk out and, like, just shut the doors and, like, I wasn't.
Michael
Mitch stayed with this girl there.
Delaney Walker
They.
Michael
I even told him before, I was like, you know, don't.
Delaney Walker
You know, don't, don't, don't. Yeah, and I was like.
Michael
And he's like, hey, listen, I won't. Yeah, I understood. If we. If that happened, we would go home.
Delaney Walker
That was from the surround sound, I promise. I don't know. I'm just weird.
Eli Manning
Waffle's a chiller. More of the story. She didn't really do a whole lot.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
Hey, good pin.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Eli Manning
I tried to go outside and, like, let her just kind of get in some fresh air. Didn't want anything.
Michael
Comes back.
Eli Manning
Yeah, yeah.
Michael
You tell her, hey, Waffle, you want to go on a walk? She'll, like, put her head down. Doesn't want to walk.
Eli Manning
You told me she doesn't, like walk, so I didn't even really try that.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, bulldog.
Michael
Easiest. Easiest job easy.
Eli Manning
Except when she tries to get up on furniture she's not supposed to, and it gets a little feisty for a quick.
Michael
Yeah, yeah. You gotta let her know we can find out. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
So you gotta. I need you to elaborate a medication. Food.
Michael
She does farmer's dog.
Delaney Walker
Okay.
Michael
But, like, during this time of year, she usually gets allergies, so we have her on medication for the allergies.
Eli Manning
Yeah, you can. She kept looking at her paws the entire time, bro.
Michael
Did you swell up, get that experience? Like, while y' all are chilling, watching tv and she's just licking you like, dog. Yeah, stop, bro.
Eli Manning
One, it's loud. And two, like, she's, like, also licking the couch or the.
Delaney Walker
Whatever she's on everything, bro.
Eli Manning
Stop doing that.
Michael
And she'll get her. Sometimes she'll, like. You know, what is it called where they get the little juice coming out of their butt and Waffles butthole. Her being a. Her being a bulldog. English bulldog. Her exposed.
Delaney Walker
It's up.
Michael
So she'll have it, like, like on the furniture or something. Then she'll start licking it the most disgusting. Do you not get that squeezed?
Eli Manning
Yeah, we do. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Michael
That's why you can't get us, my friend. Get a squeeze or would it like perspirator.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, you can. You can. You. You could do it yourself. You just kind of like pinching and this white come out. But my dog. So I got a bulldog, too, but the Frenchie licks. When that happens, she licks his butt and lick it and her breath stinks so freaking bad.
Michael
I'm like, you got an English in a Frenchie.
Delaney Walker
Yes, yes, yes. Non stop fighting. 24 7.
Michael
Bulldogs just kind of sound like when they're licking their paws and everything else is probably where it came from. They snore.
Delaney Walker
When they snore, Fart, snore, all type of stuff.
Eli Manning
She was just in the bathroom that whole time just for, like, the most odd spot. There was one more. I woke up Saturday morning. I'm like, where the is this dog? Couldn't find her, like, and I just kept walking. I walked around the entire house, and then I peeked in the bathroom, and she's just in the corner like, oh,
Delaney Walker
what are you doing?
Michael
It's like her safe spot. Yeah, she likes to get, you know, next to, like, corners and walls and stuff like that. Not be seen.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Bulldogs are like school shooters. You gotta, you know, they, they quick to you, but you gotta be careful.
Michael
High maintenance, but also low maintenance as far as.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, very, very.
Michael
They don't want to do.
Delaney Walker
No, but they, they, they, they mentor.
Eli Manning
Gorgeous house, by the way. Gorgeous house.
Michael
I appreciate that. We love it.
Delaney Walker
What about the driveway, man? What you gonna do with the driveway?
Michael
Patch it up.
Delaney Walker
You ain't gonna re pave it?
Michael
I don't know. I don't know what my options are.
Delaney Walker
Oh, it's.
Michael
I'm thinking I got to get a fully, like, new driveway based on what the salt did it.
Delaney Walker
It's gonna start cracking in a minute. You're gonna start having little potholes come up.
Michael
Yeah, I mean, I it up like, that was the haters, right? That was on me.
Delaney Walker
You.
Michael
You go out there in the driveway, there's chips everywhere from the salt I put down during the ice storm. Yeah, apparently. That's a big in that driveway, bro. Seasoned it.
Delaney Walker
I know, I know.
Michael
You got some more salt, man, I just ran out.
Delaney Walker
Slow down. Well, how much salt did you put on that thing?
Michael
When I was putting up, I was
Delaney Walker
like, oh, that hit the hill, though,
Michael
and it honestly didn't fucking work. Do what I needed it to do. I did it wrong.
Eli Manning
The hill of your driveway. Come on. The one. It wasn't that bad.
Delaney Walker
Oh, you talking about going up his driveway? No.
Eli Manning
Hell no.
Michael
I hate to pile it on. When I was at your house, dude, the first thing in my head that pops up, I'm like, this hill ain't anything.
Delaney Walker
I will.
Eli Manning
I will say the surrounding, the surrounding, like when you turn left is a
Michael
pure ice on it.
Eli Manning
You go left or right. Big hills. I. I get that. But getting out of your driveway, that. That's straight. But like, you, you. That's fine.
Michael
It's a long hill.
Eli Manning
But like, going up, like, if you go left and go that way or right, like, there's. Those are some big hills that you probably have some issues with.
Michael
Yeah, but the driveways Driveway is fine. You're looking at probably a 12 grade.
Eli Manning
That's fair. No shot.
Delaney Walker
No, no. All right, 12% guaranteed. I've never seen the house. I don't know. I've never seen the house, so I couldn't tell.
Michael
Yeah, you should probably stop commenting about it.
Delaney Walker
I mean, I'll pull up. I'll pull up to the new.
Michael
What else? What else do we have? What else do we have? We got some rose spicy tear. Rose spicy tear talk. Favorite vacation destinations. Now, this is to go with the family. To go just wifey, family. I'll just choose ones that I've been on. Bora Bora, Italy. 30A. Ah, Hawaii. I'll go with 30A, though.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
The Italy of Florida.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I'm gonna say Belize. I told you already. San Pedro and Belize.
Michael
They got nice spots out there.
Delaney Walker
Oh, yes. Love it for a family is perfect because it's a go. A golf cart town. So all you do is drive guard car. It's cheap. Very, very cheap. I mean, I. I get. I act like I'm a king when I'm out there. I'm not gonna lie. So it's great. It's great for the family. And then I'm gonna have to say London. We love London. And in Hawaii, Hawaii's a vibe. Yeah, Hawaii's a vibe with London. I love London.
Michael
I want to hear about London. Everybody shits on.
Delaney Walker
Start talking, like, when I'm there. I. I don't know why the accent just comes when I'm there. Yeah, I'll just be out there. Wait.
Michael
What's nice about it?
Delaney Walker
What? Huh?
Michael
What's nice about it?
Eli Manning
Because everybody shits on London.
Delaney Walker
Oh, London.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Like, I was the biggest fan of London. But we're only out there for games. Like, the time we've only been out there.
Eli Manning
The weather.
Delaney Walker
Well, when you. When you go there for games, you don't have enough time to, like, really see the city. But I mean, it's just beautiful to. You got to think about all the. The museums, the art history, the history behind it, the food, the. The different.
Michael
Bro, the food in London is what? Fish and chips?
Delaney Walker
No, no. I mean, yes, it's fish and chips. If you go to a bar, like, if you eating at the bars. Oh, the fish and chips are great, though. With vinegar, with. Oh, see, my man already know. But I mean, they got great restaurants. I mean, we eat everywhere. Anytime we go places, we like to just go on a food tour. We literally go on a food tour and eat everything.
Michael
We're hitting Venice and Argentina this summer.
Delaney Walker
Venice is. You're gonna love Venice. A lot of walking, though, you know, in Venice. But you're gonna love it, though.
Sherm
Yeah,
Eli Manning
yeah, yeah.
Delaney Walker
It's beautiful.
Michael
Italy.
Eli Manning
I'll be hitting Lake Como in the Mafia.
Delaney Walker
Oh, Lake Como. Yeah.
Michael
Oh, this summer, like.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Beginning of fall.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
Because you mess with that and then
Delaney Walker
drive to Rome while you were up there.
Michael
Rome is awesome.
Delaney Walker
I drove to Rome from Lake Como, like, just training.
Eli Manning
Because Brooks, Brooke has a wedding in Lake Como. And then the next. The following week, we have a wedding in Greece. So we're gonna go from Lake Como, like, probably train down to, like, the Amalfi coast, and then hop on a flight over to Greece and stay over there for a couple days.
Michael
That's gonna be awesome. And at the Amalfi coast, you need to go do Sorrento. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because we did. We did. We did Florence, Rome, Sorrento or Amalfi coast and then what is it? Capri. Island of Capri. You're going to Venice this year? This year we're going to Venice and Argentina. Argentina is gonna be sick. Yeah, bro. What'd you think about Paris still any.
Delaney Walker
I love Paris. I thought Paris was a great city. They have this one restaurant that do escargot. It's right next to the Louis store. It's a famous. I know people on here gonna know the name. But it's a famous restaurant that serve escargot. And you gotta go there. They got the bread with the garlic butter. Oh, this is amazing. But we love it. Only thing I don't love about Paris is expensive.
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Everywhere we went was expensive. All the hotels, the shopping, food. But I had a blast in Paris. I'm not gonna lie.
Michael
I'll never forget when you told me I was wearing that crop top shirt
Sherm
that you bought all of us shirts.
Michael
I was wearing the crop top. He said, oh, dude, the people in Paris would love you in that crop.
Delaney Walker
Oh, yeah. Love you. I mean, it's. It's the what. What they call Paris, like the city of love. That's what I was about to say because they got the. The gate where you put the lock at.
Michael
It's like the city of romance or something.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah. But like all kinds.
Eli Manning
You say when you're out there.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Eli Manning
You start moving different with your outfit and stuff out there. Oh, yeah.
Delaney Walker
You can, though. Because, like, fashion out there is. Is not like fashion in the U.S. like, you can. The crop top. Like, he can have his belly showing with that. No.
Michael
Let me ask you, Delaney, how Would you explain fashion? Like, what does fashion mean to you?
Delaney Walker
Fashion means to me is what it means to me. It probably would be how you put that shit on. I don't know.
Michael
I don't know. Respect.
Delaney Walker
Like, however you put it on, I don't. It don't have to match, it don't have to go together. It's just the confidence of you wearing it however you feel confident in whatever you got on. And that's why I tell people, like, they look at me and be like, bro, you dress weird. But I'm like, bro, I'm dripped because I put it on, right? Like, that's me. I can't. You can't please everybody. I'm gonna dress the way I feel. Like I, I think I'm comfortable walking
Michael
out the house, pulled up to the
Eli Manning
Supercross with like 300 Pair of Jays like, he doesn't care.
Delaney Walker
They was like, you gonna wear them on the dirt? Like. Yeah, we good.
Michael
You ever hit the fashion shows? Nah. Would you hit Met Gala if you got a invite?
Delaney Walker
No, no, no, no, I'm not. I wouldn't be a part of the Illuminati, so. No.
Michael
I wouldn't have to dress like Sam Smith, huh?
Delaney Walker
I would. If I win. I would, though. Like, if I went and I did it, I'm gonna just be out. I'm gonna just say I'm gonna do something crazy because it doesn't matter to me, right? So I may come dress like a goddamn.
Michael
I can see Delaney going naked just having like a hundred dollar. No, no bill, just over his.
Delaney Walker
I, I, we talked about this. I said if I win, I'll be a half man, half horse, the center centaur. Ain't that tough, though. Keep that one, honey. That's tough, right?
Michael
It is tough.
Eli Manning
That is tough.
Delaney Walker
The mule, the centaur, I'm telling you. But had that thing hanging out. Yeah. You gotta have us, you gotta have a statement. That's gonna be the same. It's gotta have a statement. But that's what I would do. And I guarantee you that should be crazy.
Michael
And you have to have some too, like, philosophical whenever they interview you about your.
Delaney Walker
Oh, I'll just, I'll have the blacked out eyes and I wouldn't say anything, but, but just like on some, all Illuminati, I would literally just go find Illuminati stuff and just say phrases
Eli Manning
and
Delaney Walker
then look at the camera like this. See, that's the, that's the perfect fit right there. I'm doing the face and everything. That's the perfect Fit Diddy Walker.
Sherm
For real?
Delaney Walker
Nah, you crazy. We gotta stop saying that, cuz. Getting out.
Eli Manning
We gotta be careful.
Delaney Walker
We'll shut it down.
Michael
We'll shut it down. Your boys start to call you Diddy Walker. Who like your boys?
Delaney Walker
They think they like, yo, them dudes is silly for that. They be like you. You don't get. I don't care about that Diddy shit. No, they ain't never. They just think it's. They like, yo, they are funny. They think y' all funny for calling me Diddy and then y' all posting that didd. They be like, man, he getting out. You know he getting out. I'm like, I know them boys better stop saying, put all this money against us for the show.
Michael
Let's do. Pull up some tear talk, Sherm. So you want to be featured on the show? Hashtag tear talk. Whether in the YouTube comment section on all social media platforms. We got one here From Jacob Wright, B9O. This is on YouTube. Long hashtag tier talk. A few months ago, I ran into Taylor at the farmers market in Franklin. Obviously I was fired up to meet him. He was super cool and chatted with me for a second. I grabbed a pic with him and sent it to my boys, like, ay, yo, look who I just ran into. Unfortunately, as it was a Saturday morning in December, I was rocking my cozy gray sweats in response to the pic in the group chat, one of my homies said, dude, if I met Taylor Lawan in person and I was wearing my gray sweats in public, I'd never recover. Anyways, huge fan of the show. Hopefully I run into you cats again sometime. And I'm wearing regular pants so I don't have the teenies on full display. Salute emoji. Also shout out Kevin's Natural Foods. The Korean barbecue style chicken. Absolutely rips. Hashtag CleanTake, Clean take.
Delaney Walker
Is there a picture of this? We got to see the gray sweats.
Michael
Jacob Wright, please, you got to send us DM us that picture. We got to DM us. DM us the photo. Jacob, thank you for the tear talk. It's a great story. Brendan King, y' all shitting on Willie for that pool is crazy. Hashtag Kevin's Natural Foods Clean take by the old Willie meister Whipple. We were. I don't even know how I was getting shit on. I was just saying, like the above ground pools and making like the circular ones, doing wave pools, wave parties. And then the boys were pulling. The boys were pulling up like rectangle pools and everything else. And it Felt like I don't even know why I was getting on someone.
Eli Manning
Like, I think we pulled up an absurdly small one. And like, you're like, that's the vibe right there.
Michael
And it's like, yeah, it was a
Eli Manning
little small, but like.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
Then Taylor, I think was just.
Michael
Taylor was saying that that pool that was pulled up was the vibe. And I'm like, that's not the above ground. Maybe that's not the vibe. That's not the wave. Because the whirlpool is fire. Yeah, whirlpool is fire. Like, didn't Jack. Jack was in one over the weekend, wasn't he? Yeah, that's it.
Eli Manning
They're bad back.
Michael
Yeah. Those above ground pools. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Is that a whirlpool or just above ground pool?
Michael
Just above the above ground pool. The circuit.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah. The old school joints that we grew up with, like in a.
Michael
But when you do the whirlpool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When you get your boys and you make the whirlpool yourself and then fight against it and then you do waves on the raft, you have a wave party, survive in the ocean.
Delaney Walker
Damn, y' all trying to break this.
Michael
Maybe that's why. That's some white boy. Hashtag tear talk from some dude named Deke. Rate these Disney Channel original movies from best to worst. Johnny Tsunami, Brink, Smart House, the Luck of the Irish, Halloween town. Question before we start, remind me of Brink and the Luck of the Irish. Luck of the Irish is terrifying. Brink is the rollerblading movie where he's on X Blades, the highly competitive team, and then decides, hey, the X Blades guys are kind of douches. I'm gonna go with the more wholesome kind of underdog rollerblade team because they didn't sell out to the man. Yeah. And they beat him in the end. And they beat him. Yeah. Okay.
Delaney Walker
Did you watch that for real?
Michael
Yeah, I watched Break. Okay. Yeah. And what was the other? I recognized. But Luck of the Irish is what you're. Is that with that. With the. With the old man? It's like leprechauns playing basketball finds out he's like part leprechaun and his like the. The lucky side of his leprechaun, like, gets taken from him and his evil side. Seamus.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Comes out, comes out.
Michael
And it's like messing with his basketball. Pull up the scary.
Delaney Walker
Right? He's all Disney.
Michael
Oh, okay, okay.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I remember that.
Delaney Walker
I remember that one.
Michael
I was so mad at Shameless.
Delaney Walker
Can you pull up. Can you pull a Brink, though, real quick? So I Can just. Because if I see the picture, I'll remember.
Michael
Yeah, absolutely.
Delaney Walker
You know, I played football 14 years
Michael
and it was 90 and mad with 92. 92 main characters on the left. And that's the. That's the villain on the right.
Delaney Walker
I remember. Yes, I remember that.
Michael
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
This kid always played the villain. Wasn't he in Good Villain? Good Villain.
Michael
He's a good villain. Yeah. This guy. Yeah, yeah, he's.
Sherm
He throws the marbles at the end
Michael
on that race, like down the hill and the guy throws the marbles out to try and trip him. All right, bring up the list. All right.
Delaney Walker
List Halloween Town for number one.
Michael
Oh, yeah. I'm gonna go Halloween Town. Johnny Tsunami.
Eli Manning
Yep.
Michael
Brink. Luck of the Irish. Smart House.
Delaney Walker
I can't remember Smart House.
Michael
I thought Smart House was dog. Smart House was ahead of its time, by the way. I can't remember ahead of its time, but go watch it again. Yeah. Corny, brutal. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah.
Eli Manning
Smart House, Halloween Town and Luck of the Irish are all like horror movies in my head. They are terrifying.
Michael
Halloween Town, Halloween Town bangs.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I gotta. Yeah, it would take too long to get into it.
Michael
I got a weird fear.
Eli Manning
Halloween Town.
Michael
I don't know why.
Delaney Walker
I love Halloween Town.
Eli Manning
It gave me like night terrors.
Delaney Walker
Halloween Time, definitely number one. You can still watch that today.
Michael
Anybody got a Luck of the Irish or Smart House higher than it was or Brink Number one? I think I would almost go verbatim on your list.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I like Luck of the Irish.
Michael
If you got an opinion, say it. I've never watched any of them.
Eli Manning
Oh, okay. What? Yeah, yeah.
Michael
So I'm sitting here, I'm trying to. I was worried that you were gonna do that. Is Jared or clump scene.
Delaney Walker
He Amish?
Michael
You haven't seen. Don't say that, bro. You gotta get Halloween Time, especially with the kiddos. Yeah, I haven't seen any of those. Well, Johnny Tsunami pre production had no clue what any of them were.
Delaney Walker
Get your kids ready for like horror movies kind of. This is like a basic start off.
Michael
You got your. Your two year old watching horror movies yet?
Delaney Walker
No, we. We watch Toy Story every day. Okay. I can't watch anything else other than Toy Story. I know every Toy Story. I'm waiting on a new one now because I watch these so much. Yeah, well, they going against iPads. Oh, he. He was on cars and now he owned Toy Story. He will not watch anything other than Toy Story and Ms. Rachel. Not gonna lie. Love Ms. Rachel.
Michael
Yeah, good.
Delaney Walker
In my house, nothing but respect for. Yes, good in my house? Yeah.
Michael
They help the kids learn a lot.
Delaney Walker
Oh, my God.
Michael
Yeah. Will you go to the movies? I would love to get Delaney reenacted than Ms. Rachel.
Delaney Walker
Oh, dude, I would do it. I would, but nah, Drew Ski already did it. We can't copy it. I would do a skit.
Michael
See, now you're in your head.
Delaney Walker
I'm in my head? Yeah.
Michael
Now you're in your head, bro.
Delaney Walker
I'm in my head though. You know, you get a lot of feedback. I'm in my head.
Michael
Kevin's Natural foods Clean take Clump should rewatch the Disney movies or watch the Disney movies with his kid.
Delaney Walker
This entire list, you should.
Eli Manning
You should report back.
Michael
I will do it. That's a clean take.
Delaney Walker
They're old enough to enjoy it.
Eli Manning
And you'll like them all too.
Michael
I'm in. What do your kids watch if not? You don't get them on the Disney movies. We watch Disney movies, but Coco is a big one in our house. Cars.
Eli Manning
Yeah, Coco.
Michael
Toy Story. The biggest one that we watch is sing sing. The norm one and sing two. Big sing.
Delaney Walker
Yes.
Michael
Do they watch separately in TVs in their own rooms or do they. I knew that. We're doing this.
Eli Manning
Flat screens in every room for the kids.
Michael
Every kid's got a flat screen.
Delaney Walker
Even the new flat screen in his house.
Michael
Yeah. Even the newborn. Even the newborn got a 50 inch flat. Everyone got a TV.
Delaney Walker
My son don't have a TV in this room.
Michael
They're mounted.
Delaney Walker
We have a. A rolling tv. So we just roll it old school to. Where he at?
Sherm
Like elementary school?
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
JJ's graduating. Graduation gift. JJ is graduating today, so he'll be graduated tomorrow from preschool. Pretty exciting. So what you getting them 60 inch. I got him. I got him packs this weekend. We ripped some packs.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Delaney Walker
When did y' all get into this pack stuff?
Michael
Taylor.
Delaney Walker
Taylor, man, are you in it?
Michael
I haven't got into.
Delaney Walker
I knew you wasn't.
Michael
What's that mean?
Delaney Walker
You like me like you? I knew you wasn't.
Michael
Now when he brings them in and they rip open like football and everything else, like, I'm into seeing like what they get.
Delaney Walker
But you're not gonna spend your money on it.
Eli Manning
No.
Delaney Walker
Okay. That's what I'm saying.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Delaney, you got some sick cards out there. I've been looking at all you guys's cards to get for the locker room to have on set. You have a one on one, a one of one out there that I might buy. It's a Pro bowl one with the red and like Neon Nike symbol.
Delaney Walker
It's pretty sick.
Michael
That's what I'm saying. He brings in something like that. Like, I think that stuff. I think that stuff's awesome.
Delaney Walker
That's dope.
Michael
Because on this they also involved with this Courtyard app.
Eli Manning
That's right.
Delaney Walker
We were just talking about it out there.
Michael
So it's collectibles. Are you into collectibles at all?
Delaney Walker
I have, I was telling, I have football cards. I don't do the Pokemon or like the Street Fighters. I don't know what else they have.
Michael
But the Courtyard IO has like a wide range of collectibles. So it doesn't. Like Taylor was super into Pokemon and then he comes across Courtyard or some of the boys or somebody was getting them in the football cards. Was it Coop? Yeah, Coop's an OG card guy.
Delaney Walker
Well, Jerry got basketball cards.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I only.
Michael
Jared's like an NBA. Jared likes NBA cards. But then they're talking about sports cards. He starts getting into sport cards. Then the Courtyard IO comes involved and shows them what you can do in the Courtyard IO app. So it's like collectibles everywhere. It doesn't have to be, doesn't have to be just NBA, doesn't just have to be Pokemon, doesn't just have to be football. Like there's watches in there like to where you could do a budget. Say you have a, like $11,000 for a Rolex and you're trying to rip, you're trying to rip a pack and it shows you what it is. So let's just say, let's just say you were going to do a watch and you had a thousand dollars. You put on this, this Courtyard IO app and you. $1,000, you're going to rip a watch. It's going to give you something in the range. It could be a watch that is worth way more or more than $1,000. It could also be a watch that's worth less. So it'll reveal it, what you get. You could get that watch. Say it's worth $1,000. You pull a watch and that watch is worth $2,400. You can get that watch sent to you. If you really want that watch, you could cash out the money. You could take that money and continue to rip other stuff collectible wise in the app.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
And then if you say, you say you pull one and it's worth. It was a thousand dollars and you pull one, it's worth 800. What are the options you can do there? You can, you can. So you can trade it back for
Eli Manning
800 or I was telling Delaney, this is what I do. I list it for sale, mark it up. There's, like, sickos on this app that are like, I've never had a card sit for more than, like, a day. Like, people buy up stuff.
Michael
Yeah. So you can pull one that's worth below and then put it somewhere else and mark it up.
Eli Manning
If I don't like the way back, I just list it for sale and someone else.
Delaney Walker
Can you put your own cards on there, though?
Eli Manning
I don't know. That's what I don't know.
Delaney Walker
Because I got cars, and if I can scan that car, put it on there.
Michael
You probably have to go through a process where it gets graded.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, yeah. Wait, I got to send it in so they can see that it's the real card.
Eli Manning
Yeah. I probably have to buy it for
Michael
you, too, because there are some dope cars I saw last week, and I'm like, oh, you got, you know, so and so. But it's like, oh, that's not graded that well. That's like a version where they got millions of them or something like that. So I'm, like, learning about it a little bit.
Delaney Walker
I mean, I like rare cars. Like, if you get, like, NASCARs.
Michael
You weren't it. You weren't into Pokemon when you were younger.
Delaney Walker
Oh, I love Pokemon. But I wasn't pulling cards and I was playing, like, Pongs with Pokemon.
Michael
Yeah. I would battle. I love battle.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. Yeah. But I didn't. I got into it and then the car stuff is new. I feel like. I feel like everybody, like, it's just like a new thing. The card stuff stuff.
Michael
Yeah. But it's really just like. I guess. How do I say it? Rich people have gotten into it. Yeah. So. And like, famous people.
Delaney Walker
So now driving the prices. I've been hearing, I see that like. Like, poor people, like, all these rich people just buying cars. Like, I saw because somebody was talking about Taylor. It was like, oh, they just bought all these cars and they driving the prices up. When we used to get this now people waiting outline, they fighting to get the cards. You got to go a day early to sit outside the store. It's like, okay, how much money are you really making out of this? To be that dedicated.
Michael
Some people again, like, you're talking about trendy. Is it? It's like a new trend. But I feel like, like, collectibles people been in collectibles forever, bro. It's like when we were growing up, and then it's like your parents had, like, Beanie Babies sitting all over There. Oh, yeah. Baseball cards.
Eli Manning
Baseball cards.
Delaney Walker
Baseball cards, for sure, dude.
Michael
My dad was collecting, like, coins when
Eli Manning
I was a kid.
Michael
Yeah. My grandpa was the same way, bro.
Eli Manning
Silver and silver price goes.
Michael
You had that book, you'd open it up and try to get all the different quarters of all the different states.
Eli Manning
That was so cool.
Michael
That book went hard. So I feel like that stuff. People just love that stuff forever.
Delaney Walker
It's just more.
Michael
It's because it feels like it's becoming more. There's a lot more popularity and mainstreaming. Of course, you got, like, influencers and people that love doing collectibles. It's in front of everybody. A lot more.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Because Taylor will get on with people and he's. He does giveaways through court. Oh, yeah.
Delaney Walker
No, I was.
Michael
So he'll take, like. What are they, like, 500 giveaways? 500 rips. So, like, any. Like, it'll be a pair of, like, a dad and a son who comes on the live stream and he'll have a 500 rip for them. And whatever they pull, they can keep it. They can do whatever with it. Like, it's theirs. And the way it works, too, is, like, if you want that thing that you just pulled, like, in your possession, they send it to you.
Delaney Walker
And this is on. But this is all online, though, right?
Michael
It's on an app.
Delaney Walker
On the app. Because I did a pool at the combo.
Eli Manning
I mean, at the.
Delaney Walker
The super bowl, when I was at the media road, a dude came to me. He was like, hey, man, would you do a rip?
Eli Manning
I think I saw that.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. And I pulled. I think I pulled a Drew Bledsoft, Steve Young. Like, I pulled a couple of good cards. Trent Dilford.
Michael
And again, like, us. You'll see those names of those players. You're back. Those are some.
Delaney Walker
I'm like, that was. I might.
Michael
But the people in the car game will know if that's, like, a highly grade or a highly valuable car.
Eli Manning
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Michael
Because there's a lot of versions of, like, Steve Young or Drew Bledsoe or, like, a Delaney Walker.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. It depends what card you get. The. I think the. The expense most expensive card is mine is.
Michael
Is.
Delaney Walker
It's called Lightning Thunder is me and Derrick Henry on the car, obviously, because Derek is on the car, too, but so.
Michael
But still.
Delaney Walker
Oh, yeah, I'll take it. I got one. They gave me one that was pretty dope.
Michael
That world's fascinating.
Delaney Walker
It is.
Michael
People love it, though. Again, it's like they go to these spots. What is it? Nash cards. And people just Go there on weekends and it'll just be flooded. People wanting to rip cards, rip packs. That's right. I remember. I remember the juice I used to have, like being into, not like, like ripping packs, but trying to collect all the Pokemon cards or like get a holographic Charizard Mewtwo. Well, I would collect them because I love battle.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
Every Saturday morning was like a new episode of Pokemon was coming out when Pokemon the movie came out. Like, I was obsessed with Pokemon the Game Boy.
Delaney Walker
Yo, me too. I mean, it's like going to a
Michael
card store, my mom getting us to take us to a car store and going to get packs. And then you just be fired up to like, see what you were gonna pull.
Delaney Walker
But see, these cats are not playing with them. They're getting these cars and holding them like, right. So it's like you holding cars. We used to play with. We would get those cars and be like, oh, you pull that out, man. I put out three times Power Pokemon for sure.
Michael
But even back then, like, I remember my.
Delaney Walker
And that's how you got the cars. I beat you. I get your card.
Michael
But some people were in even. Even when we were growing up, people were in to also collect them. Like, I remember my boy Logan. We love playing Pokemon and doing all the different stuff with Pokemon, but his dad would be up late at night, it'd be one or two in the morning, and he'd be on auctions online. Like dial up Internet, trying to get auctions and collect and have binders full that we couldn't touch or play with. You know what I mean? People still valued collecting, whatever it is. It's just that, that, that fascination of like collectibles.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Michael
People are grabbing stuff, holding value. See if it takes value.
Delaney Walker
No, definitely. I'll hold it.
Michael
Because there was like a post last week talking about the Pokemon market being up. Like if you had, if you have your, your cards like back in the day, like what it could be worth now.
Delaney Walker
Yeah. And I'm sitting like, damn, me too. Oh, God.
Michael
That's why it is fun what Taylor is doing. Because probably a lot of those people that. Come on. Are not going to go buy a $500.
Delaney Walker
No, they so like.
Michael
And they have a really good chance of getting a cool card, which is fun to see all their reaction.
Delaney Walker
Well, Taylor's smart because people was getting knocked for just buying these, all these cars and not giving back to the people who can't afford it. So Taylor is actually doing a good
Michael
thing and his kids are into too. So it's like, you hit the dad lane of, like. Like being into something that your kids are into so you could, like, do with them. And then again, it's like, including the audience and audience being able to, like, get something from it. Or again, like, pulling a 500.500rip, and you have no clue what you're gonna get.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, that's.
Eli Manning
Yeah, it feels very, like, win, win, win.
Michael
Like, we're doing it. His kids are just sitting right there.
Eli Manning
Like, it's like a family affair at Taylor's house doing it. It's so, like, wholesome.
Delaney Walker
Do he let them play with the cards?
Michael
Yeah, dude. Like, when we get there, they have their own binder. They have their own stuff. They.
Eli Manning
They showed me all their cards. It's like they have their favorites. They sit there with the live stream, and it's like Taylor's like, you can do the first couple rips, and then they sit there like, it's such a fun little.
Delaney Walker
He let him watch it, though. Do he pull up the old Pokemon cartoon? Yeah, that's the best about the cards. If you watch the show.
Michael
The show is all time.
Eli Manning
This whole family's obsessed with this clean take.
Michael
It's a clean take. Also, on the Courtyard IO app.
Delaney Walker
App.
Michael
Taylor has a promo code for 15 off your first purchase. Delaney. If you want to give it a try. No bad days.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, no bad days.
Michael
Somebody's got it, though. Have you seen it?
Delaney Walker
Yeah, Yeah. I was talking to Jerry about it.
Eli Manning
We was.
Delaney Walker
We was sitting there in the office talking about it. Yeah. Because I'm like. I'm just trying to see if I. I get it, if I could put my cars on there. I want to try to sell the ones I got before I buy a new one.
Michael
You got a ton back home.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Back at the house, I got a
Delaney Walker
gang of cards, basketball, baseball, football. Only, like, sport cards. You know what I'm saying?
Michael
Are they in mint condition?
Delaney Walker
Mint. Haven't touched them. Yeah, haven't touched them.
Michael
Delaney does. Goes to Nash Car and sells his
Delaney Walker
cars all in binders. And then I got a. I got a car rack with all my cars in them, and they slide in and they all in glass cases. It's like. It's probably, like, 42 cars. All different cars.
Michael
That's why no one house sits for. For him, because he's got all those cars. That would be a. It's behind the door. Yeah, yeah. Locked in a room. Yeah, yeah.
Delaney Walker
They ain't worth nothing, though.
Michael
All right, should we get to. Should we get to Eli Manning?
Eli Manning
Hey, I think we got to shout
Michael
out Max Crosby's new songs. Oh, bro.
Delaney Walker
Was that really him?
Michael
Yeah, Max is nice.
Delaney Walker
No, cuz, I just. I. It's ain't Cardi. Ain't. What's the name? Plaque boy? Max too.
Eli Manning
Yeah, it is artist.
Delaney Walker
That's why I was like, wait, is that real or.
Michael
Yeah, he's like a streamer feeling like Cactus Jack. J.P. put me on the 2:00am Yeah, 2:00am In Vegas, man. Yellow diamonds on my neck. I'm pissed.
Delaney Walker
We were listening to it on the.
Eli Manning
On the road trip.
Michael
He was. But, dude, I. I like. I like this, actually. Yeah, 2:00am in Vegas. I have been listening.
Eli Manning
It goes hard.
Delaney Walker
I ain't heard it. They just threw up blood still right there.
Michael
So you don't with that?
Delaney Walker
Nah, nah, I'm around with. I'm joking.
Michael
No, I'm.
Delaney Walker
I know he ripped.
Michael
No. Yeah, dude, Max is nice. I'm telling you, on be like freestyle Fridays in the locker room and when I got there in Oakland. And Max would be ripping it up. Yes, bro.
Delaney Walker
He got every vibe, though. Yeah, he got that vibe.
Michael
He's got juice. He's got sauce.
Delaney Walker
As a white boy, what you think? He got that vibe like, cuz can probably run around the hood and be straight.
Michael
No question. Yeah, yeah, he's got the juice.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, he got.
Michael
He got the juice.
Delaney Walker
I don't, man. I mean, I'll be in the back. Just. I'll. I'll just. I ad live whether he say so. I said that. Yeah,
Michael
I'll be in the music video.
Delaney Walker
Yeah, I'll definitely be in the video. If he needed the ZR1, holla at me.
Michael

I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections and it's like okay, yo yo yo is this indulgent. And I really thought about it. I was like, no. At this point, it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that that deeply, emotionally affected me. And I left it on the mic. That's great because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God,

I cried at the end.

This interview is brought to you by Bud Light. Our guest today is an absolute legend. I have the Wikipedia up here. I'm just gonna tell you. Two time super bowl champ, two time super bowl mvp, Walter Payton, man of the year, four time Pro Bowler sn. Sports Nation. That's what that is.
Michael
It's called Sports Nation.
Sherm
Yeah. Sports Nation. Athlete of the year, Giants Ring of Honor. Giants number. Number 10 is now retired. Maxwell Award in 2003. Golden Arm in 2003. Second Team All American. Yeah, kind of nuts. We'll get into that. SEC office of Player of the Year. First team sec Ole Miss retired. Longest touchdown record. Most passing yards in a single season. Ladies, gentlemen, give it up for the one, the only, Eli Manning. I just did a horrible job of reading your Wikipedia.
Michael
You did a great job.
Sherm
Do you ever just go and look at your Wikipedia and go, no.
Michael
What do you mean, time out? You've never done that?
Eli Manning
No. You can't look at your Wikipedia.
Sherm
Hold on. Scoot that, scoot that, scoot that. Michael.
Eli Manning
Yeah, you can't. You can't look at your Wikipedia. That's illegal. Look at that picture, though. I look very hungover right there, but I think I just played a football game. So that's like that looking.
Sherm
That's a different game taking place right there.
Michael
That's. That's the look of. You're going in to knockout. Willie C. When they were down. We are like, our last game. We played against each other. They knocked us our last game.
Sherm
This is both of you guys.
Michael
This is an old rivalry coming back up. A lot of feelings, a lot of emotions for myself.
Eli Manning
They had to win it to make the playoffs, and we had already clinched the spot in the playoffs and didn't need to play for anything, but we still beat them just so they wouldn't get in.
Michael
They had nothing to play for. This was also. This is. This was also the week of the boat photo with Odell in the wide receiver group. They had absolutely zero to play.
Eli Manning
That happened right after.
Michael
Did it?
Eli Manning
Yeah, because. Yeah, because. Well, right after that game, though, they left from Washington to go to Miami while we're about to prepare for a playoff game. And, you know, so they. They, they. They went to Miami on Sunday night and came back Monday or Tuesday or whatever today. So it's celebrating the big win against you. They went to Miami.
Sherm
So you guys clinch a playoff spot. You're sitting there, you got a bag of seed in your hands. You're not playing.
Eli Manning
I played.
Sherm
Oh, you played.
Eli Manning
Oh, yeah.
Michael
Okay.
Sherm
That's.
Eli Manning
No, we all played.
Michael
They didn't even have, like. Like, they were very vanilla. And a lot of the Giants, their offense at that time was a lot of, like, check with me with Eli at the line of scrimmage. So a Rolodex of a rolled Rolodex of information. Like when he's at the line of scrimmage, like, calling out plays, doing things you're going to do. Like we were. I cannot believe we lost that game. Honestly. Like, I'm out there hobbling around because I had my knee brace from the torn pcl.
Eli Manning
It doesn't sound like you're bitter about it at all.
Michael
Yeah, bro. Well, because you know so well. Well, you know what eats at me is there was a play on third down where we get off the field, we got a shot, or maybe you go up. I kind of forget how it all goes, but you hit your patented docking. What do you call it? Docking.
Eli Manning
Docking.
Michael
Hit his docking signal. Anytime, Eli. We were in.
Sherm
You guys called this docking?
Eli Manning
Yeah, we were in a. It was a drag blocking. So like. Yeah, it's like the big play in the NFL. You throw the tight ends like a three by one. You throw a tight end on a drag and the two receivers block.
Michael
Anytime he did this, they're going three flat screen. Because he's checking to that. Because we were double mugged up in the A gaps. We were in like a. Like a cover two pressure to where I'm the three to one player lined up in the A gap.
Eli Manning
Over the center.
Michael
Yeah, over the center. Because Mason and I were talking right before on who should blitz, who should be the COVID The COVID guy with my knee and everything going on, and he's like, hey. We're like, hey, who wants to blitz?
Delaney Walker
Who wants to cover?
Michael
I'm in the coverage spot, he hits this. So already in my brain, I'm like, this is a three flat screen. But I'm holding in the A gap. I should have just ran away from the A gap because ending up it was a receiver flat screen. I'm out there kind of in the open field, and I slip down the tackle. They get a massive game and ultimately, like, win the game. It haunts me all the time. Haunts me all the time.
Eli Manning
Yeah, docking haunts a lot of people.
Sherm
Affects a lot of people all over the world.
Michael
Yeah, Eli docked me.
Sherm
But if you look here, you guys record against each other. I mean, Eli's only got two wins over you, six to four. Yeah, that's got to feel kind of nice.
Michael
I had some good games. I had some good games. They also had this play where they're in like 20 personnel and they'd be lined up. It'd be like the fullback or Y and the running back in the backfield and they'd be in the fringe Area. And they loved running this play action pass where they're sending the Y or the F down the scene. But, yeah, we knew. We knew a lot of you. Like, after the game, Eli comes up to me and he's like, hey, did you know a lot of the things that we were doing, like, vocally and. Because all their run plays would be what, like, colleges.
Eli Manning
Yeah, college colleges. And then their mascot, like, college one way, mascot of the college, the other one.
Michael
Yeah. So when he'd be out there saying these checks, like, whether it's like, hey, rabbit, rabbit, or run, run, run, trying to get the safety down in the fit, you were aware of what they were doing because you guys were playing the Cowboys. In the next one week, I'm going
Eli Manning
to play Green Bay.
Michael
Green Bay. Because I remember being like, if Sean's leaves watching this film, like, they're going to know exactly what you're doing. Because a lot of their stuff was checking at the line of scrimmage. And, you know, on Thursdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, whenever teams do it, you kind of go over TV copies.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
To get any tips that you can have on the opposing. Whether or the opposing quarterback for your guys's pressures, how you guys handle protection.
Eli Manning
We would have someone that actually, he wasn't on the. Like, on the offensive staff. Like, he wasn't a coach. Like, he was just. So he would go watch the games like an independent person. Like, hey, watch the games, hear what I say, and tell me what you think it is. Like, if it's a run, if it's a fake run, it's a cadence. Like, he. He knows nothing. He's just like, kind of a football guy. And. And so then you would kind of. If they were right about a lot of stuff, you'd be like, all right, we might need to change it. Yeah, but sometimes they, like, they'd be totally wrong. They, like. You know, because we have. We also do fake audibles. We say words and we pass. Or it might be a cadence. Something like, you have all these words you're saying, and, like, can they fit? Can you know, what's. What's things known that what we're doing is accurate or not?
Sherm
Is this a guy that was there when. When you got to the Giants? Like, you had this type of personnel guy, or was this a guy? You're like, hey, we need somebody.
Eli Manning
No, he was, like, on the staff. It's like. But he was doing. I mean, he was like in the marketing department or something. You know, he's just like, hey, we need you. To watch. We need you to listen. Like, watch the TV version of this and tell us what you think. Think some of the words Eli's saying is or. Or hand signals or tendencies. They actually saw a tendency where if it was a run play, I would lick my. I'd lick just my, like, left hand. If it was a pass bait. I live left and right. They told me that one time. I was like, oh, wow. Like, stuff that you never think about. Like, I don't. I don't. I never. Just, like, little habits or tidbits that you. That you get. So, like, on run plays, try to lick both fingers sometimes.
Michael
Yo, that's wild.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
Having the. Yeah. The subconscious of doing all those things.
Michael
Hey, you know it's going to be a pass because in the defensive room, look, he looks twice, and somebody showing a cut up right of every time, he's looking twice. This is a pass. It's 100% pass.
Eli Manning
Start yelling just like, don't. You know, it could be play actions or, like, just don't bite the play action. You know, like, you know it's a pass or something.
Sherm
That's. That's always the best feeling in the world when you feel like you finally got somebody on something and then it happens in the game and you're like, I cannot believe it actually worked out the way they said it would. That.
Michael
It's always a chess master with me and Eli.
Sherm
Okay, so that. That brings up a different question. At any point in your career, did you ever put on the tape and be like, boys 51 here. We gotta.
Michael
I'm sure you did.
Eli Manning
Right? We gotta. Yeah, yeah. No 100. We just gotta double team. I'm like, we always have eyes, you know, like a spy, a quarterback. We spied the linebacker. We just always have, you know, always have double eyes. Just the center. Can't handle him alone. If he blitzes, we gotta have the running back chip on them.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
Just in case. Just a game record.
Michael
This guy, he's gonna wreck the game.
Eli Manning
That's so exactly. Exactly.
Sherm
When you guys look at this. Yeah. You're not.
Eli Manning
Wasn't.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
That was scary. It wasn't kerrigan. No. No. 51,
Sherm
right. That's the wrong white guy.
Eli Manning
The other one.
Michael
Hey.
Sherm
Kerrigan had the biceps now, dude. Him and Clay were like the two white biceps in the league. You're like, my God. Greek God. When you guys win that game and those guys go on that trip, two things. I have two questions for you. One, were you invited? And two, do you think it really had that big of an effect on what people say it is for the Giants.
Eli Manning
No, no and no. I was not, not invited. It was not invited. On the, on the boys trip to Miami. It wouldn't have gone in any way, I don't think. But yeah, I mean, here it is. Obviously, I don't think they prepared to go to Miami. They're all on a boat in jeans and Timberlands. Yeah, I think it was a last second deal. You know, I think they went out all night. So, like. Yeah, I mean, it's just a bad look. It's like, hey, we're in the playoffs, we're ready. Like we want to make a run. Oh, yeah. But first let's go on a, on a, you know, on a Sunday night and Monday, you know, Miami just stay up all night, like in focus. So like, obviously they're back. I mean, you know, they're back on. I don't know if they came back Monday night. We have an all day Tuesday, you're back at practice Wednesday. So they have, they have time, they're young, they have time to heal up or whatever. It's just like kind of the, the psyche around it. It's like, hey, it's playoff time. Let's like take it another, another notch, get, you know, more focused, more serious. Not, let's go party in Miami.
Sherm
Right? Yeah. Did you, did you have a talk with Odell and the boys when they came in? Like, guys, listen, I understand you want to have fun, but when we're getting photos, like, we need people to think and know that we are trying to win a Super bowl here, right?
Eli Manning
No, I was, you know, it's like, hey, girl, we're, we. It's kind of like, take care of your business. Hey, if you want to go to Miami, that's fine. They're. They're back, they're at practice, they're ready to go. So I think it's trying to make. I, I think. And also you're dealing with the media, so if you like attack them or go on them, it's not going to help anything. I tried to make light of it and just like, kind of, I was like, hey, you know, they asked me like, were you there? I'm like, yeah. Who do you think took the picture or something like that? You know, that's why I got invited, so I could just, you know, had my camera, good photos, Photoshop. So I think just kind of laugh at it and, and hope you go out there and play well. And when we, you know, Odell didn't have a great Game, you know, that had a couple drops early on. So, like, it wasn't. Had nothing to do with Miami. It's just a bad look or at least worse.
Michael
And trunks, like, make it seem like we went for a swim or relaxing.
Eli Manning
I mean, I would have had my Speedo ready and, you know, going to Miami on a boat, you know, you would have. You're. You're a big speedo guy.
Sherm
Yeah, I was big into the. The hat, half banana hammock. The one that if you look from just one profile is like, Z completely. And then the other side was like, okay, no, there's a strip there. There was one that Ben Jones and I actually shared. We had a locker that we shared it with.
Eli Manning
That's. That's aggressive. Sharing a Speedo, somebody.
Sherm
It's. It's aggressive. Yeah. Especially the lack of washing is probably the worst. The worst part about it. You were. We had your brother on. He talked about pranks.
Eli Manning
Oh, yeah.
Sherm
How big are you in the prank game? When it came to the locker room?
Eli Manning
Yeah, that was. That was. That was one of my favorites. So especially. Especially with the offensive lineman, I think, like, you know, that. Well, you know, we always kind of go back and forth, you know, playing pranks. I think the good thing about a prank is, like, you can't be a tattletale about a prank. You know, I. And that's what even, like, linemen or someone that got me. I didn't, like, make a big deal about it. I accepted. You can laugh about it. Like, oh, that's good. That's creative. There's, you know, I appreciate a good prank. Probably the best one that got on me that someone did to me. My sinner, Sean o', Hara, going out for a walk through. So, like, before the practice, you know, you kind of go out there after a few meetings and you just kind of walk through some of the new plays. Walk through some of the plays. You're right in practice and it's just, you know, you wear your shorts and a T shirt. And o' Hara would go out there for practice. I go under center. And he was just wearing gym shorts, nothing underneath. He cut a hole in the gym shorts. So I felt a lot of skin as I go under center. And so, you know, and be, you know, but now I know, like, I gotta protect those. I went shotgun, obviously. And just like, all of a sudden, like, Coach Collins, like, why are we doing shotgun? Like, you can't run power, like, in shotgun. I'm like, sorry, Coach. I was just trying to, like, throw off the Defense a little bit. Like, I could have called o' Hara out right away, but then, like, you know, then it's like a whole issue, like, the bigger things. So, like, kind of give o' Hare the look like, I saved you now, like, cover up, do something. Don't let you know I'm coming back under center. But everything needs to be in place again, so. So I think that's like, the mentality, like, hey, appreciate. That's funny. You got me good. I'm not going to tell on you. And then, you know, you kind of, you know, figure out a way to have. Have pranks that make it fun.
Sherm
If you. If Sean o' Hara gets you in a walkthrough, does your mind go to, oh, that's solid. We'll move on. Or is it now I have to get Sean back.
Eli Manning
I think I wait for the opportunities. I'm not going to force it. I think with Sean, I think I. Eventually, I got into his phone and I changed. I switched his wife's number and Coach Coughlin's number so he thought he was texting his wife. He was just texting Coach Coughlin. And so, you know, it's pretty much just good. It takes a little time. You got to memorize both numbers and, like, copy and paste and cut. I mean, it takes. You know, it takes a little.
Sherm
That is a little diabolical type of move. Just texting. Just got. Don't practice. I love you. Sweet confidence in his office. Like, what the hell are we talking about here?
Michael
Did you ever get, like, hazed as a rookie?
Eli Manning
Hey, had to have, you know, he always had, like, by the day, you were back.
Michael
You were back in the day.
Eli Manning
Back in the day. Yeah. I mean, definitely, you know, the last day of training camp got, like, taped up and thrown in the cold tub. And like, my. My
Sherm
30 on that.
Michael
We talking duct taped you?
Eli Manning
Yeah, duct tape.
Sherm
Like, you can use your arms.
Eli Manning
No, not much.
Sherm
Hey, you're in danger.
Eli Manning
You're a little dangerous. The key to that, you just stay very calm. I'm just like. I didn't fight it. I'm just like, all right. Just like, do what you got to do. Like some, like. I mean, I remember watching Brandon Jacobs, like, in a full wrestling match, like, fighting everybody. I'm like, no, no. That's like, when things go bad.
Michael
Yeah. But also the size of Brandon Jacobs.
Sherm
Right?
Eli Manning
He could do that. I mean, I was like, I'm not that, like, fight Strahan. I'm like, I'm just like, if Strahan. His moment, like, Take me up, throw me in, and then they'll save me.
Michael
Are you close? Are you close clothed?
Eli Manning
Yeah, I was close. I don't think I was. Yes, I was closed.
Michael
Maybe some grays.
Eli Manning
Some grays on, just some, like, little gym shorts.
Sherm
Imagine the panic of like, yeah, they'll save me. Right. But then there's a piece of you. It's like, what. What if they just leave me here? I had to truly fend for myself.
Michael
What's the funniest rookie hazing that you've seen? Origin may be the worst.
Sherm
And we're way past right. The statue of limitations has gone by.
Eli Manning
Hazing.
Michael
You don't even have to say no names.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I guess we. I mean, I don't know if it was hazing, just a prank. Pranking, you say pranking?
Sherm
That's way that way. Yeah. Guys just funing around. That's it.
Michael
This is a violent prank.
Eli Manning
Yeah, we had. We had a rookie quarterback from. From Kentucky, Andre Woodson, that we may draft in, like, the sixth, sixth or seventh round. And so it's, you know, back then, these are like, you know, it's OTAs. So it's not in season. It's just like the OTAs, which are. As we all know, they're. They're voluntary. They're not mandatory. You don't have to go to them. As I look at it, the team doesn't have to pay you or sign you on the team. So you. You know, I always went to OTAs, and we'd have these, like, you know, you work out and it's not. We ain't got to. Like, we're on the field practicing. We're just kind of doing. This is. This is before. This is before the new. The new collective bargaining agreement. So nothing. All this happened. So we. We just kind of have. We're having meetings and, you know, you're just working out, and you can kind of go in the field and throw if you want. So. So Andre, we had 6:30 quarterback meetings. He didn't show up. He just got drafted like, two weeks before. So you kind of need. It should be there. I'm there, coaches are there, and we're in a QB meeting. He doesn't show up. So I say, coach, I got to go to the bathroom real quick. I went to his locker, cleaned out his locker, got it. He didn't have much in there. He'd only been there two weeks. Got everything out and got some giant stationery. And I said, come see me in my office. Bring your playbook. TC for Tom Coughlin just come. Kind of posted it up there. So I got. I told one of the equipment managers, I said, hey, you got to go sit up top of Coughlin's office and like, this. Be based out there and watch him when. When Andre comes up, stop him. Don't let him come in there and tell him that he was late to practice or late for the meetings. But. And. And so Andre came in. He came in the quarterback room first, asked if he could talk to me, kind of told me what was going on. So I'm like, yeah, you just got to go up there, like, admit to it. Just tell him you're sorry. It won't happen again. Like, make. Have your excuse ready. Like. Like, I set the. You know, the. The alarm clock to PM Instead of AM or whatever. I'm like, you smell like you're hungover, so that's not good. So try to maybe shower. Maybe shower before you go up there. And so he did all the stuff. And then, you know, the equipment guy, he's, like, about to walk in. The equipment guy's like, Eli, you know, messing with you. You know, you're good. You're good. Oh, man. So just get. Get the heart rate going.
Sherm
Multiple layers to that.
Eli Manning
Yeah. A lot going on.
Michael
Imagine the fear you have walking up there to his office.
Sherm
Yeah. But even, like, you think about the kid being late, hungover, and it's like, he probably wasn't thinking a whole lot, but having the heaviness to go to Eli and be like, you gotta help me out. Yeah, what are we doing, everybody?
Michael
You gotta go face the music till the a.m. p.m. Yeah, go shower.
Sherm
It is. It's just nuts, dude. All the pranking that went down, we
Eli Manning
had the dinners, right? That's.
Sherm
Yeah, dinners were big. Yeah, dinners were big. But, like, my. Like, last year was kind of like, they shaved my head.
Michael
Head.
Sherm
And that was really it.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
And then I got brought up to, like, Ken Wizen. Hunt was our head coach, and there was him in the gm. And they're like, who did it? I'm like, guys, someone else will snitch. I cannot be the guy to do that. Can't be the guy to do it.
Eli Manning
No.
Sherm
But a bunch of guys got in trouble, and for, like, half the year, I had to sit there and be like, we're like, we know you did this to us. I was like, guys, I promise. And at some point, you just got to stop defending yourself, right? And just move on. But after that, they were kind of like, hey, we're done doing the hazing. We're done doing all that. And so kind of wanted to died.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
The pranks kind of weren't as fun as you hear about the old school days.
Eli Manning
Well, there's pranks and then there's hate. There is a difference a little bit. There's like one that you can kind of laugh about. Yeah. Shaving someone's head. I mean, I mean, I think, I think like, the, the dinners, like making a rookie go out and buy. And you hear like, some of these are like $85,000 dinners. I'm like, that's not, that's not. That's too much. It's like these. You don't know what. This guy's gonna make the team in two years. Like, it's a lot of. That's a lot of money. So I don't think it's like a, A, you know, you know, we had rookie linemen and, you know, we, we, we, we played some pranks around that where we went to dinner and I got them to make fake bills.
Sherm
We would do the same thing, like
Eli Manning
45 grand or something. And I was like, I was messing with you. Like, you know, it was, it was only like three grand and I paid it. So, like, you're fine.
Sherm
The, yeah, the money thing. Some guys like, fighting that. Like, I remember A.J. brown, his first year, he's like, y' all better not be doing none of this. Like, he was like, adamant about it
Michael
to the point where I know when you got guys like that, it's kind of like, okay, this is like, you
Sherm
gotta have fun, fun with it. But we would get, we would have like, undrafted cats, and they would like, hey, you get the three of you or how many undrafted guys. You guys are gonna have, like one dinner together? And that's where we would do the. We'd have like four or five, like fake bottles of Louis come in. Guys like, hey, do you want one? You want to take one home with you, Sher? Yeah, Sherman. Yeah, I'll have my own bottle. Absolutely. So these guys are sweating. The bill comes like $65,000 dollars. And it's all like, you know, apple juice inside or whatever. Fake bottles.
Michael
Yeah, dude, the, the, the, the pranking stuff, and a lot of it too, is like carrying pads. Like, I had to carry pads a lot.
Eli Manning
Yeah, yeah.
Michael
And since I was undrafted, the boys did kind of like prank me, saying I was gonna have to buy the linebacker dinner. And I want to say the linebacker dinner was only like 1200, but I was sweating because my signing bonus was only like 2500. Dollars or. Yeah, something low. And I'm like, bro, I don't even know if I'm gonna be here. I to need, need as much of this money as I possibly can before I go into the real world. But they, they ultimately like London Fletcher's like, hey, we're just, we're messing with you. You don't have to, you don't have to buy the dinner. Because I was like, you know, I was just had anxiety the entire time thinking, well, my entire check's gonna go to this dinner, right? My, my no money for playing in the NFL.
Sherm
Yeah. My rookie year, I had like, I came into the. My rookie season was zero credit. Like, my credit score was like 420. I had nothing. Nothing. I never had a credit card or anything like that. So like, I had, I was a first round pick. I had the signing bonus. I did. But like to use a credit card, I like a thousand dollar limit on it for like the first year. So when I went to my rookie dinner, I was like, hey, I need this to be like up to $10,000 at least. And I haven't given that done. But it's just like, it's terrifying to like finally have money and then be
Michael
like, right, you gotta take. The snacks are full.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
Decorate the rooms during holidays.
Sherm
Were you a big decoration guy? What's your thought on holidays?
Eli Manning
Yeah. Yes. Right. We didn't have a ton of quarterbacks, but I mean, the, the offensive line room, I thought was. I mean, I think they did it the best. They like big decorations. Guys went out for. I like the fine rules, like offense, especially the offensive line room. We had a big kick of like, obviously there's like jumping off sides and. But like unit embarrassments. UE's like if you fall down, right. Ugly, fine. You're like on a screen and you're out there by yourself. You block no one. Like, I love the fines. And then like that went towards like the team dinner, I think at the end. So, like, I was big on, big on going in the offensive room. A lot of our code words going in the offensive line room and be like, if we had like a word, we used a bunch. Hey, we need a new, you know, a new word for like, you know, we used to have boss, you know, backer on strong safety. And we had like Bruce and Springsteen, you know, for the Boss. But then we have. I'm like, all right, Lyman, like, you get first. First choice. We need a new word for, for boss. And like the first one was always totally inappropriate. You know, they're like, you know, there was like, Coach Coughlin's wife's, you know, name. I'm like, I'm not saying Judy Coughlin. You know, guess like y' all are trying to get me in trouble or, like, something, like, totally inappropriate, like, you know, like, you know, boobies. I'm like, no, we can't do that.
Sherm
Such an elite word.
Michael
Makes me think of Mr. Deeds.
Sherm
Amazing thing about Mitch that night when we were in Nebraska.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Notre Dame.
Eli Manning
There he goes.
Michael
When the old man's like, boo.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
Yeah, exactly.
Eli Manning
So then. Then I was like, all right, never mind. Like, you know, they had their fun. Like, they almost had one. You know, not so fast. So I'll think of something, make it. Making it up. But yeah, I think it's. It's like, it's such a long season. You're in there, like, in the meetings, and there's so much serious about it. Like, you got to find these different things to. To keep. Keep the players involved or laughing or thinking or just to kind of break up the monotony of doing this. Like, every single day. Every. Every day is the same, you know, in the course of season.
Sherm
Yeah. The. Especially when you get into, like, late October, early November, when you're like, you can't see the start line and you still can't see the finish line yet left.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
It's like, we got to figure out a way to have a good time. The fines were awesome. We would have, like, we would have a fine, like, if the owner saw you and was, like, giving you a handshake or a hug, like, that's a $250 fine for essentially kissing ass. It's a way different name for us, but for sake of a kid show right now, we'll call it that. And the owner, like, my Amy Adam Strunk from the Titans.
Eli Manning
Sure.
Sherm
Two, three years into it, she, like, caught wind about it. So she pulled me over. She's like, so what is the fine? I was like, if you go up to these rookies and you give them hugs or anything like that, like, they're getting banked. So at, like, she would start doing it during camp, guys started to catch on, and when Amy would start walking over, all the rookies would literally run away from her to where it was like, a weird game of, like, tag taking place where she'd, like, chase players and they just be getting fine, as if she touched you, you're out. It's $250 right there. So it is. It is a fun, fun game.
Michael
A big Spooktober guy.
Sherm
Big Spooked. Are you? Big. You like Halloween?
Eli Manning
Yeah, Halloween. Had some good Halloween parties there. You know, there's Mario, there's my wife. There's, you know, the princess. My. My princess right there. Abby there. Look at her. Look at us.
Sherm
Stunning group.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
A stunning duo right there.
Eli Manning
That was probably. Yeah. Oh, that's Timmy Hasselback right there is the UPS guy. Yeah. And his. His wife. And so they're. They're Nashville people now.
Sherm
I love that.
Eli Manning
But. Yeah, so that was. That was fun. I had actually. I had the theme music. I was. I. I had, like. This is before you actually had, you know, like, Bluetooth. I had. I had, like, a real, like, stereo, and I had, like, an iPad, like, iPod hooked into it, playing the theme music for Super Mario Brothers on repeat all night long.
Sherm
Just. Yeah. At some point, no one wants to be around you. What is it? What's a. What's a holiday that Eli Manning enjoys more than anything? What's your favorite holiday?
Eli Manning
Spring break. Does that count? I like spring break.
Michael
Okay.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
You got some good memories.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, college spring break. I still now, like, I love having kids. And now you get spring break again. Like, you're back in the mix. So I'm a big. A big, like, you know, I'm already, like, looking at next year. I'm like, when's our spring break? What are we doing?
Michael
Planning.
Eli Manning
Planning. Yeah. Yes. Yes. So I'm a big spring break guy.
Sherm
How do you guys, as a family, figure out where you guys are going to like, like, locations in a hat. And the last one.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Over the years, we've kind of, you know, we've done. Yeah, we. We've kind of changed it up. Usually go beach. Just being up in New York, like, by March, you know, it hits and it's like, it is cold. It's still cold up here. We need some sunshine. So we go down there. Go. And I got a great beach bod. You did some beach. That's. That's. That's like a. Probably like. Like three weeks after we just won our second Super Bowl. So I was in peak physical.
Michael
Exactly.
Sherm
You celebrated for 21 days down in Miami there.
Eli Manning
We go to Bahamas a lot. So we do, like, do a lot of fishing and go. Go down there with the kiddos. They like it. And. And go snorkeling and all that good stuff. Yeah.
Sherm
Spring break.
Eli Manning
Big spring break.
Sherm
I love that.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
Where's. Where's Christmas on your list? Or Fourth of July?
Eli Manning
No, I mean, love Christmas as well. I mean, think it's, it's just, you know, like Christmas and Thanksgiving are weird as football players because you don't like, it's not like a real holiday. Like, you don't get Thanksgiving. Oh, we practice on Thanksgiving. And so it wasn't like, oh, we get the family together. I didn't, you know, I wasn't around my brothers and my family. So even Christmas, like, I don't see my brothers on Christmas anymore. I don't, you know, I don't go down and necessarily see my parents. So it's like, I love it from the kids and the excitement and the, the, the feeling of it. But it just wasn't like as big of a, you know, just kind of like the great family moments that, that you get to create because, you know, we just, as my dad was like in the same, in the same boat growing up. And so it was just kind of a, A weird. Not a weird deal. Just. It was just different.
Michael
It sounds like you have a lot of pain with Christmas.
Eli Manning
No pain.
Sherm
No.
Eli Manning
I like, like Christmas presents. Santa guy.
Sherm
Nothing better than getting a bunch of presents for your kids and somebody else to credit for it. Nothing better, man. I'll tell you what, though. Something about Halloween.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
That's the number. That's my number one by far.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
Seasons are changing. It's the opening door to all the holiday season. It's incredible.
Eli Manning
There you go. You know, there's a big fish. There's, there's down what you see, there's a big fish.
Michael
Cute minnow.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I, I, I, the timing of this worked out. Where Tom did, you know, did catch a. He caught a fish and posted something and bum. Like, this picture is not about your fish, Tom. It's about you showing off your, you know, you with your shirt off.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
I was like, I can't let you get away with this. I can't, can't let that happen. So I just caught a big tuna. So I'm like, I gotta call him out.
Michael
You guys have like, good banter anytime you guys are around each other. Because at the end of the day, it's like, Tom is like the goat of football.
Eli Manning
Sure.
Sherm
Half of his roast.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
Was essentially him getting roasted about you.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
You're the guy to come to his room. Roast two zero. And I just, I never, I couldn't do it. I couldn't go down there. And also, I'm also scared. Like, I've seen enough roasts where if you're there, you also get roasted. And I'm like, I don't want to get roasted. I want to. I can just roast you from my social media and hide behind social media.
Sherm
That's great.
Eli Manning
That's why I basically am only on social media, just so I can. I can roast Brady and then hide behind it. But I see him in person. No, like, I don't. I'm like, I might, you know, bow down like, Tom, you're the greatest. Because he could crush me. He'd be like, you know, he just shows all his rings and it's like, you know, I don't need to.
Michael
You got the two Super Bowls got.
Eli Manning
Yeah, he's got seven. So, you know.
Sherm
Yeah, but his fingers are missing, too, because he's missing.
Eli Manning
Yeah. So every. No, he brings up the 07 Super Bowl. Like, every time I see him, he's like. He looks at me, he's just like, God, darling, I really want that one. He's like, I'd probably give up, like, three other Super Bowls just to have that one.
Sherm
The perfect season.
Eli Manning
Perfect season. Yeah, they would have gone. They would have gone, you know, 18, 0 or no. 19 and. Oh, and. Yeah, 19 and oh, and go down as the greatest team of all time. And he can't say that. He could go down as the greatest player, but they can't say that was the greatest team ever. They're not in. They're not in talks with. Which they should be.
Sherm
Yeah, bro.
Michael
I mean, you want a game for the world? It was New England versus the world. Like, I remember watching it. I was in high school and we had a Super bowl party, and I'm with all my boys, boys. And I was rooting for the Giants because there's all the arguments that would take place whether whatever quarterbacks you're talking about, but the. The Patriots sickos that were just dying on the hill for Tom Brady and the Patriots, and they were going undefeated. They were going to have the greatest team of all time. And so you're sitting there like, man, I hope the Giants can pull this off. And when the Giants did pull it off, it's like, you as a fan, you got, you know, you got your ammo going into the next conversation in the cafeteria with that New England Patriot that's up picked been beating their chest all year long. You want a game for so many people.
Eli Manning
Yeah. So, yeah, jets fans like me, you know, Buffalo fans like me, everybody in the AFC kind of is. Is a fan for. For taking them down, especially in the AFC East.
Sherm
What. What's, like, sparked that playoff run because you guys barely made in the playoff. Am I correct? Yeah, the pass rush was nasty. But even the super bowl, like, first off, that S piece, when you, what was the play of the year when you were like getting tackled, fumbling over. Justin Timberlake hosted that. That was my favorite SP of all time. I thought he absolutely killed it. And you getting on stage being like, I want to thank my office of line for blocking. Nobody in that moment was like, I wasn't even off his lineman at that point. But I'm thinking, this guy's the fucking man. Yeah, watching. But what was it about, like, how the regular season was going? You barely making the playoffs in that insane run at the end.
Eli Manning
It was just kind of up and down season. Like, we lost. We lost our first two games. Ended up being to the Cowboys and to Green Bay, who ended up playing in the, in the playoff. We didn't know they were probably two of the better, you know, two best teams in nfc. Then we went on a six game win streak and then we lost four in a row. And then we kind of, you know, then won a couple more. And so we actually, you know, we knew we could get hot at the right time. And we, we actually played New England the last game of the regular season that year. And New England obviously already clinched the playoff spot. We had clinched the week before we beat Buffalo, so we clinched the playoff spot also. So we, you know, we're kind of wondering, hey, are we going to sit out this last game? We're going to rest the starters and Coughlin came in right away and like, hey, if you think we're sitting out or resting, like, no, no way we're playing. This is the best team in the NFL. Let's go beat him. Let's go shock the world. Let's see where we stack up. And so we're like, all right, so we had a great week of prep. Went in, had a lead into the fourth quarter. We put up like 35 points against them. And then Tom Brady and Moss had, you know, a big fourth quarter and a comeback and beat us. But like, like, I think it gave us a lot of confidence going into the playoffs. Like, hey, that was the best team. We just put up 35 against them. Like we could, we could keep doing that. Like, you know, we can, we can play with anybody. And, and so that was kind of, you know, just had that confident feel going in through it. And when we played them again, we're just, you know, it's like, hey, we're one play away. We're like, you know, we just need we need some crazy play. And sure enough, we got that with a helmet catch the tyrant, bro.
Michael
So nuts.
Sherm
Yeah.
Michael
We reached out to our partners at FanDuel to get a. Obviously you have all the spreads and everything now. Not back then, but we reached out trying to figure out what the spread would have been in that game. And the spread would have been. The Patriots would have been favored by 12 and a half.
Eli Manning
Yeah, that's what I've heard. Yeah. 12 and a half.
Michael
That's nuts, man. And like, the greatest catch. Greatest Eli, people hanging on him, right?
Sherm
Not the most mobile guy in the world, but at that moment mean.
Eli Manning
What do you mean?
Michael
Not the most.
Eli Manning
Not the most mobile.
Sherm
Not the most.
Eli Manning
Not the most, right?
Sherm
Not the most, but not the worst.
Eli Manning
Not the worst.
Sherm
What do you think? Who do you think was more mobile, you or your brother?
Eli Manning
I was definitely more mobile than. By far.
Sherm
I just feel we gotta.
Eli Manning
I mean, he had like, he had some long rushes, but they're all like on naked bootlegs where he just faked everybody out and he's like, running by himself, you know, I, like, made some people miss, I think. And like, you broke a tackle or two.
Sherm
Damn right.
Michael
What's the most annoying thing about. About Peyton from. From the brother perspective?
Eli Manning
He, as I always say, like, Peyton would have been a great wedding planner. He, like, he is. He over plans everything and you know, to the. To the point, you know, he's. I'm here in Nashville. He's having a little birthday party tonight and he's, you know, he's got like a little speech set up and he's got some pictures, I guess guest. He scripted what I should say at his. At his speech tonight. Like, I'm scripted into his speech for his birthday party. Yeah, I got a printout. It's like, here's what you say. Here's a picture we're going to show. Like, yes. For his birthday party.
Sherm
That is hilarious.
Eli Manning
I can already see, like, when his kids get. You know, when kids get married, he's going be. Make everybody like, all right, rehearsal dinner. Everybody send your speeches to me. Voice memo. And I'll. I'll. I'll edit them. I'll get the order. I'll decide if you. You get to give a speech. I'll put it together. Like, he's just. He's an. He's just a planner and wants to be on top of everything. And it's like a great quality because, you know, like, we do a Monday night show. Like, I feel like I don't have to do Anything. Like, Peyton's gonna figure it all out and tell me what to do and, like, have some ideas. Any idea I come up with gets shot down anyway, so I've learned that also, it's like, if it's not his, like, you got. If I have a really good idea, I gotta find a way to make it seem like it's his idea. Idea for it to pass through.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
If I just. If I just come out with a suggestion, like, no, no way. I gotta, like, kind of have a conversation with him and, like, we're like, brainstorming, like, oh, we came up with it together. There's like a whole system to it.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
You gotta game the system with Peyton.
Eli Manning
No doubt.
Sherm
Scripting your own speech to hear from your brother.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
Is one of the more wild things I've ever. It's been that way, you guys, his whole life. Has he always been that type of organized guy?
Eli Manning
Yeah, just. Always. Just like, you know, thinking about every. Every little detail. I mean, even I remember, like, when he was getting recruited in high school, you know, he would taught. He taught to every single coach. He was like, you know, probably the number one recruit in the country, quarterback. And he went to visits to Notre Dame and Michigan, Florida State at the time, Tennessee, you know, but talked to every single coach and wanted. Like, there was not one school that was like, from the get go, he's like, no, I'm definitely not going there. Like, everything's in consideration. He. He would talk to these coaches and then he had like a little recorder, like an old school tape recorder that he would hit record and he would talk into it about what they talked about. It's like, talk with Bobby Bowden. And we talked about their offensive scheme and some of the recruits they're looking at. And I remember going through it at one time. I would sit there listening to it, and then he would leave and I would all of a sudden record. And it's like, me. He still has it somewhere. He played it for me one time because he goes back and listens to him. To this day, he'll still go and listen to the thing, and all a sudden he's listening to one, and all a sudden I pop on and I'm like 11 years old and you just hear a, ooh, that's a smelly one. And I run away, you know? Yeah. So just like, you know that. But that was, you know, that was like our relationship, him being, like, super organized and me, you know, making his life more difficult. So, like, not responding to his text fast enough. Fun Ideas. He, like, sends a text, and it's like, been an hour and I haven't responded. He's like, why aren't you responding? I sent you a text with, like, a full outline of your, of your speech for my birthday party. I'm like, I didn't know I had a voice. Like, I thought I should do it. I'm like, yeah, I'll be ready. He's like, have you read it? I'm like, no, I haven't read it yet. It's like, it's Monday. I got till Friday. Like, I'll read it when, you know, like, Thursday night. And he's like, I'd like you to read it earlier so you can make any adjustments. I'm like, I'll just figure it out and it'll be fine.
Michael
That is.
Sherm
It definitely plays into all the stories you hear about how, you know, you see him and who was the center he played with for Saturday, where they're, like, yelling at each other on the sidelines, keeping everybody. He just seems like he's a guy has to be in full control.
Eli Manning
Full control.
Sherm
How are you on the field with your guys when somebody's messing up?
Eli Manning
I was, you know, I, I, Someone messes up. I think it always depends if it's like, a physical mistake or a mental mistake. Like, physical, physical mistake. It didn't bother me. Like, a receiver drops a pass. Like, I'm not going to rip into him. Like, I know he's trying to catch the pass just like. And I kind of want it, you know, on the reversal, if I miss you on a, on your open and I bet, throw a bad pass, I don't want you, like, putting your hands up and, like, you know, oh, you know, like, hey, you know, I'm going to help you out. You help me. But, like, the, the, the mental mistakes, they run the wrong route. They don't get a check. They screw up in practice. And like, the mental mistakes in practice, that's where you kind of like, get on them and say, like, that that's what loses games. Like, that's what's going to lose his games. Not if you drop a pass, because, like, we can overcome that. And that's a physical thing. And, you know, just, that's just part of life and football and those happens. And the middle mistakes, there's like, hey, that's you. It's not being focused, not, not, not going through your playbook, not studying, not being in the moment. And so those are the ones that I used to get a little bit
Sherm
more bothered with when you talk about physical mistakes of a wide receiver dropping a ball, right. Is that different than a physical mistake of a left tackle whiffing on a block?
Eli Manning
No, I think it's the same thing. Like, if left tackle misses a block or gets beat, like, hey, you know, you know, you know, demarcus Warehouse, he gets paid also, like, he's got a job to try to sack the quarterback. And he sacked me more than any other player in the NFL. And so, you know, I'm not going to like, rip into the left tackle. Like, what are you doing? Like, I know it's hard. Like, I'd be like, more to the coach, like, hey, we should be chipping that Might I take that more as like the mental. Mental mistake.
Sherm
Yeah.
Eli Manning
Not by the left tackle. By us not having a back over there or handling that. And so. So it's more like, hey, if the left tackle supposed to fan out to the will, who's blitzing and he's. He doesn't fan out there. That's like, you know, that's a problem. When I think, hey, this guy's blitzen and he should be blocked and he's not blocked. That's. That's what leads to like, sack, fumble, bad play.
Sherm
Have you ever gotten into with Coughlin, gotten to a tip about protection issues? Maybe one of your guys is getting beat a lot. You're like, hey, we should chip. But Coffin's like, no, no, we have route concepts that can fix all that. And you just go rogue and be like, you know what, we're bringing the Y in never. Hey, we'll deal with this on film in a couple of days. But actually we're gonna put the H over here. We're gonna double chip.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I think most of the, like, most of the coordinators are like, pretty good on protection. Like, I think that's like, you know, they. They know if you can't protect, like, you're gonna have a long day. And so, I mean, and it's not like, hey, we can't chip every single play. Like, the backs back there and protect if they blitz the back on the linebacker, like, now that guy can't bl. You know, can't chip. And so, so I think it's just trying to understand, you know, you can't, you can't leave him on an island all day by himself. Like, you know, we used to kind of like, you know, especially early in the game, like, hey, first play, let's not just like, let's not do a seven step drop, you know, pass Play and, like, not Chip, you know, a stud defensive end. Like, let's just be a little smarter than that. Let's get into the. The flow of things. And. And then, you know, hey, third down. Sometimes we got to leave him on his own, you know, third and four and fives. Like, hey, we got to get the ball out fast ass. So we got to mix things up.
Sherm
Let's have a quick talk about Beeman and friends. Tier ones, you need to listen to me real quick. Nashville in. In January, what do we do? We hosted a show. Jared Beeman, he lost a bet. Michael
Zanies.
Sherm
Let's have a good time, boys. I'm gonna love it. You should love it too. Buy those tickets. Let's have a good, good time. Let's have a good old time, boys. Is your. Is your agent Tom Condon? Was it Tom?
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
How did. I also had Tom. I think Tom is one of the goats.
Eli Manning
Yes.
Sherm
How did Tom handle your draft day?
Eli Manning
So Tom. So Thomas Peyton's agent. So, you know, I, like, through the process of picking the agent, I was like, well, yeah, he was good enough for Peyton. Fine. Like, I knew Tom was.
Sherm
Based on the short amount of time we've met each other, I completely understand why you'd be like, yeah, you know what? Peyton chose him.
Eli Manning
It seems like he did a lot of research on this. He met with every agent meetings. I'm like, that sounds miserable. Like, Tom, you're. You're good. Like, I, you know, met. Met him. Seemed like, you're doing a great job. So, like, you're hired. And then draft day. Draft day was interesting. Obviously, I had a lot going on with, you know, I. I told San Diego who had the first pick that, you know, didn't quite want to go there. So I remember, like, 15 minutes before the actual draft, it's like the Saturday in New York, and Tom's like, hey, I got good news and bad news. I'm like, all right, what do we got here? He's like, san Diego wants to trade, you know, make a trade. I'm like, all right, that's great. I said, what's. I assume that's good news. Yeah, that's good news. I'm like, what's the bad news? He's like, it's to Cleveland, and we're not going there either. I'm like, that might be a little difficult. Like, I'm already hated, I feel like, by, you know, making this move and so ended up working out and, you know, ended up being a trade with the Giants after I was drafted and went to New York. But Tom was. He was always, like, very, like. I guess he was pretty relaxed. Like, I was. I was pretty relaxed. So I don't. I don't. I never demanded a whole lot from him, and I just, like, always told Thomas, like, this. Get the. You know, get deals. You know, he has. You know, I felt like with an agent, I think everybody has this, like, perception that you always talk to your agent. Like, every day. I had, like, the opposite. I'm like, tom, I'll talk to you, like, every five or six years when, like, a new deal's up for my football, Right. You don't have to call me and, like, I'm going to. To stay with you. I'm not ever getting rid of you. Like, you know, we can. You can call me. You want to come to games, fine. But, like, you don't have to, like, work this relationship that hard.
Sherm
Yeah. This is it. Yeah. Must be the easiest husband of all time as well. What was. We have a fan question from Rico. Stop barking at. Stop barking. 14. What exactly was wrong with the Chargers?
Eli Manning
There's nothing. I just didn't feel like they were the most committed team to. To winning at the time. It just seemed like. I mean. And, you know, Marty Schottenheim was the head coach who was awesome, had great respect for him, but, like, they. They came for. They came to work me out in New Orleans and went through a full workout. We went to dinner that night, and, like, there was this friction between, you know, the head coach, the. The general manager. Like, the owners, they're all, like, yelling, kind of, like, fighting. We were at a Marriott, like, you know, restaurant, and. And, you know, Schonheimer's mad that were. He's like, we're in New Orleans reading at a Marriott, and, you know, so he's, like, pissed. They're, like, kind of just bickering. And it just seemed. Didn't seem like there was a whole lot of, like, agreement on things. And like, they were kind of, like, committed to building a great winning franchise at that moment, and they turned it around, you know, quickly. You know, at the time, they had Drew Brees was the quarterback and so. But, you know, they had Damian Tomlinson over there, like, sounds like great players, but they weren't winning games. They were obviously, obviously still the worst. You know, had the worst. Worst record in the. In the NFL at that moment. But they kind of used that, you know, that year, got Philip Rivers, the trade that they used for the Giants to get. They got Sean Merriman. You know, all of a sudden, Breeze just starts playing great. I remember during my workout with them that year in New Orleans, they're like, hey, we got this unbelievable tight end. He's never played a down a football in his life, but he's like, he's. This guy's going to be a stud. I'm like, you're right. I'm like, what's the name? He's like, Antonio Gates. I'm like, yeah. Never heard of him. They had, like, these kind, unknown people that end up being superstars. And, you know, they. They, you know, had a chance in. In 07 to, you know, make the play or made the playoffs in the AFC Championship game and. But even that, like, they want. They. They lose the ASU championship game to New England, and then that year they fire Schottenheimer and get rid of both their offense and defensive coordinators. It's like, it's kind of a weird thing to do, you know, 14 and 2.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Eli Manning
So it's just like, it kind of like at that moment, I feel like it kind of proved to me, it's like maybe they didn't really know what they were doing, and like, you know, they got into this situation and doing well, but like, you know, they, they, you know, so anyway, it. It nothing against San Diego. The people, the town, the coaches there.
Sherm
Yeah, great city. San Diego rips. Yeah, yeah, it's an awesome spot. But you're. You're trying to win games. Was it this, this dinner? You walked away from this dinner being like, I can't. I don't want to be a part of this. And then you call Tom and you're like, yeah.
Eli Manning
Even before I had heard some. Some, Some. Some issues. But I said, I'm gonna kind of go. I remember, like, telling my parents, I'm like, I'm gonna go to this dinner, but I'm not Gonna be like, too impressive, if that makes sense. Like, I'm not gonna, like, like, try to.
Sherm
Wow.
Eli Manning
And like. And so I remember I was. Cam Cameron was the offensive coordinator and he sent like, like two days before the workout, he sent me this playbook to look through. So I looked through. I was, you know, looking through it. I was like, oh, this very cool. Actually, it's like my first NFL play playbook. So I went through it, like the second to last page of this, like 100 page playbook had like a 20 bill tape.
Sherm
They're trying to get you.
Eli Manning
So all of a sudden now I'm like, in a dilemma. I'm like, I don't want to be too impressive because, like, I was just hoping they just wouldn't draft me. They're like, hey, we'll draft someone else. But I'm like, but I don't want the word to get out that I didn't look through this playbook and didn't like, give them the $20. If they tell, like, say that then
Michael
if it spreads, like, spread like, oh,
Eli Manning
we sent him a playbook and he looked at and never looked through it. So. So I kind of weighed my options. I ended up, you know, giving it back to Cam Cameron, but not to the whole ownership. I just kind of did it on the side, like after my workout, gave it there. I was like, hey, thanks for the workout. I feel like I owe you something. And kind of gave him the 20 bucks.
Michael
Now, is all this stuff about San Diego, is this just intel you're getting from your camp?
Eli Manning
Just intel? Just from like Tom Condon A little probably.
Sherm
Peyton, it sounds like probably did a
Eli Manning
whole thing on this.
Michael
Payton had all 32 teams.
Sherm
This team, you do not want to
Michael
go to the Chargers. Here's not committed to winning Great City. Not committed to.
Sherm
He's got a whole PowerPoint presentation.
Eli Manning
So this kind of. From Tom Condon, just. And he. I mean, he had a couple of the players, he had a couple of the coaches. So just kind of, you know, he. He was. He was, you know, he didn't. He was supportive in me making this decision. My parents really weren't supportive. My dad didn't like the idea. Now he came to my defense and, like, supported me after everything was going down. But a lot of.
Michael
He didn't like that. You were kind of demanding, I don't want to go to San Diego.
Eli Manning
Like, he didn't like that. And I think. And afterwards he took like a blunt of a lot of the criticism because he came to my defense and you Know, people are saying, oh, you played in New Orleans all those years, you didn't win. So you're trying to dictate like where your son's going. And, and he just kind of, you know, bit his tongue and said, I'm just, you know, hey, this is what Eli wants to do and I support him. And he kind of did some media to try to save me from doing all the media and taking the hit hits.
Sherm
That's when you're taking the fire, when you're evaluating. Like you see the Chargers, okay, I definitely don't want to go to Chargers. Was there like a wish list in your brain of like where you act like actually want to go?
Eli Manning
I mean, at the time Oakland was a second pick, Arizona was the third pick, and then the Giants were the fourth pick. And so love the Giants, you know, like Coach Coughlin, you know, met with him at the combine and just kind of, you know, just, you just knew a lot about the, the history of the New York Giants and the Mayor family, the Tisch family, like their commitment to football. Wellington Mara and just around like, you know, just kind of the, even the collective bargaining, like, you know, revenue sharing was like all his idea. He was all about like building, you know, a great NFL, a great league and like, and building a great, you know, culture around football. No cheerleaders, like, it's all about the game and the integrity of it. So that all that resonated with me. I like Coughlin that he was just like hard nosed coach. That's what kind of what I thought of a football coach. And so was hoping some way to get to the Giants but didn't, you know, there's no real way to dictate where you go. You just knew they were, they were, you know, looking for a quarterback.
Michael
Yeah. Obviously you had your 16 year career, it was all with the Giants. You have zero regrets, you're happy how it all played out. But was there a team in the scope of the conversation that might have been fault or like a little farther down the draft that you're like, oh man, it kind of be sick if they, if they're the ones that when Tom calls and somebody trades up back in that, back in your, you know, before even you're even wearing the blue?
Eli Manning
No, I mean, I think, yeah, just because you, you know, you can't dictate where you go. I mean, I knew like, yeah, I mean, where. I mean the Steelers obviously kind of have that same, I think just like type of organization just built around like great, great, you know, football Great. You know, history of games they end up taking, you know, taking Roethlisberger and
Michael
he was speculation with the. With the Steelers, like, on the outside looking in the mix.
Eli Manning
Yeah. I mean, I think they were kind of knew they were in the mix or for a quarterback, but, you know, didn't, you know, I didn't know, you know, if I would. They would trade up or. Or whatever, or I would slip to 11. I. You know, it was. It was very. It was different. It was very different than it is now. And just everybody talking about the draft and the four days and now they're, you know, it's like a whole.
Sherm
It's a true event.
Eli Manning
It's a true event now. Yeah.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
Radio City rips, though.
Michael
What are your Go back there. How is it for you legit, like, as you've gotten passed over the hall of Fame, like, being a finalist for a couple years, like, knowing you're a guy that's debated about Right. As much as anybody on getting in the hall of Fame or not.
Eli Manning
I think I try to have fun with that also. Like, I'm not. I'm not one that's on a sweat, you know, just like, waiting to see if I make it into the hall of Fame or not. I. I remember, like, you know, when the. When it first, you know, first came out, like around the same time I went into, like, the New Jersey hall of Fame, and I was like, I finally made it. I'm in the hall of Fame. Yes. The New Jersey hall of Fame. Me and like, Albert Einstein and cool in the gang and a bunch of good ones. So, I mean, I think it's just, you know, it's not. It's not gonna, you know, make me think about my football career any different or I care about how other people think about my career. I think all that's kind of. It's all been done and in the case is. Is there, like, I can't help, you know, I'm not going to do like a promotional and go like, you know, promote myself to make the hall of Fame. You know, the game. The game film is all there, the tape's all there. If I get in, awesome. If I never get in again, it's. I'm not going to be a bitter person about that. You know, it's not really my style.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
It's interesting because, like, a lot of athletes that you talk to, like, usually take anything and everything to, like, have a chip on their shoulder and be like, oh, people don't think I'm X, Y and Z. I'll show them. But everything you're showing to us on this episode, it's like, yeah, you kind of just do your thing. The proof is in the play. Have you always been in your entire career or there moments in your career where you're like, this coach didn't believe me, or this guy said X, Y and Z about me. So I'm going to use this as motivation.
Eli Manning
Yeah, that was never like a. Yeah, I was never chip on the shoulder. Use someone else's, you know, words or comments or actions to motivate me. It was more self motivation. It was more, more, you know, doing it because of the integrity of the game or for my own teammates. You know, I probably do it more in defense of a teammate than what someone said about me. More like, hey, I'm gonna, I'm gonna show them, you know, this guy's talking trash about this receiver. Hey, let's, let's, let's attack them and let's, you know, I'm gonna get you 10 catches this game. It'd be more like that to like help out someone else. So I think it's like coming in defense of your, of your teammates or your coaches or your organization rather than, than like an attack at me.
Sherm
When you're looking at helping out your teammates, were there ever times like where you're a receiver needed like five more catches towards the end of the year for like a $250,000 bonus? You're like, hey, ain't no way you're not getting that.
Eli Manning
That's an automatic.
Sherm
That's automatic.
Eli Manning
Yeah, that's an automatic. Yeah. When. Yeah, any, Any like. Yeah. Needed a touchdown or needed. Yeah, five catches or something to make a bonus, you know. You know, I would, I would, I could, you know, go with the offense coordinator and like, kind of we would script our first, first like our favorite plays and like, you know, my, my, like 15 favorite plays were all like passes that. Where he was the number one target. Like one of your little screens. Like, like receiver screen. It would be like a slant or like, you know, all. All different things. It was like an automatic catcher, that person and like the offensive coordinator be like, it's like a weird, you know, look of plays. Like, I'm like, I think you'll figure it out if you kind of analyze it. Like, all right, all right. Like, yeah, so we'd kind of have fun with like, and, and, you know, everybody's on the same page when you try to get somebody those things.
Sherm
When it came to personnel for you, at what point, like in your career, were you kind of a part of, hey, we need a receiver, or were you ever, like, a. Vocal about that, having a. Wanting a guy? 2014, we need a bit Odell, right?
Eli Manning
No, no. I mean, had some conversations, but never. It never. I was never about a specific person, just because I didn't know. Like, you see a few highlights on. On, you know, college guys, and you're not like, oh, he definitely got to take this receiver over that receiver. I don't know the. I don't know his personality. I don't know what he was like. I knew Odell because we went to the same high school and. And had worked out with them before a few times, but I didn't know if we would take him at, you know, he's like number 11 or 13 that year. But, yeah, I mean, it would be more like, hey, love to have like, a tight end. Like, that's one spot we're missing right now. It's like more like ideas on. On, like a position area them than like, hey, we got to take a certain guy with the first pick. You know, that's why they have 30 scouts and a full team that's doing this for a living.
Sherm
When you. With Odell, he had the same draft class and watching him come on the scene. Was it his rookie year? He had that catch against Dallas. Yeah, like, they'll catch. At what point were you. Because the LSU highlights were absolutely incredible. They see the one. The kick in the back of the end zone. He one hands it before it goes out. He just. He's just got an aura about him that you're like, this kid's unbelievable.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
How soon did you realize that in OTAs or camp or a week, whatever.
Eli Manning
It was tough because he missed most of the training. He missed the first four games that year with a hamstring injury, so he missed, like, almost all the training camp. OTAs kind of was there a little bit. So you, like, never saw him at full, full strength. And then he finally kind of came back, I think, like, Atlanta. It was like week five, I guess, was his first game. And, like, you know, he took a slant, 80 yards or touchdown, ran a double move, had another touchdown. And like, all right, like, there's something. This guy's got some stuff. And. But we, like, you know, again, he was like. That was like the first week he'd practiced for a full week, so we had to be very slow on, like, hey, we can't overload this guy and, like, move him around too much or put too much on his Plate. We just gotta like this kind of, you know, advance his, you know, knowledge of the, of the offense and this put him in, you know, really like trying to put him in positions where he's getting the ball and has chances to make explosive plays.
Michael
What was it like? What was your guys's like, relationship like? Like when the moments where Odell becomes distractions, whether he's fighting the net on the sideline or he's overly, you know, bringing attention to himself and the team, where people are speculating all the time. Are there moments where you guys are having one on one convos?
Eli Manning
Not a whole lot. I mean, I think, I think receivers, you're, I mean you're always juggling, you know, their, their personality and you gotta kind of deal, you know, deal with what, you know, with, with what they, you know, with, with whatever they kind of bring to the table because, you know, they're, they're, they're talented and so you're like, hey, you got to keep them happy. You got to deal with some of these things. And like the thing with Odell, you know, you know, he had some, you know, the outbursts on the sidelines or he's doing, you know, something with the kicking net. But like, I never had a problem with any of that stuff because of, because of the way he practiced every week. Like he went 110 every single practice. Like he was a guy. We actually started, you know, we started wearing the GPS units. It's like tracking everything and you know, they would take him, take him out of practice once he like hit so much load, like, you know, and because he like catch a slant and he would go 80 yards. And I finally was like, hey, you got to stop going 80 yards. Like you're only getting through half the practice and they got to take you out. Like just go 40 yards. Like, you know, let's dial back so, so we get more reps down the road, but. And so like you appreciate the full speed, like the competitiveness and all those things. So you dealt with the other stuff because you saw why he was successful or why he was passionate about. Because he put a lot of work into it.
Sherm
Yeah, it was special, dude.
Michael
Yeah, he had, I mean, Odell on the backside. You'd have to what, you'd have to have a safety over top at all times.
Eli Manning
And what Odell did, like, I always kind of wondered, like he caught so many slants and went for touchdowns and like I had a ton of receivers and never threw. That means, you know, like, you know, you throw, you know, Throwing thousands of slants, and then like, everybody catch it for, like a 12 or 15 yard game. It's like, why was he going 80? And I finally, like, looked at it, and he had an ability where before he caught the ball, he actually had a burst. He didn't, like, catch it.
Michael
Look.
Eli Manning
And then, like, oh, burst. It was like, he's catching it and he would, like, right before the ball, he caught it. He. He had his burst right then. And so safeties took bad angles. Like, you're coming in, you're like, oh, he's going to catch it right there. I'll make the tackle. It's like, oh, no. I'm. I'm like, I'm a yard behind. And then they. They would never catch up on it. And it was like, oh, it was a. It was like a unique thing. I don't know if he thought about it or. Or what, but, like, that's. That's what I always thought was the difference of why he, like, people took bad angles and he went. He ran by safety so much.
Michael
Did you guys ever do a planned TD celebration other than the commercial?
Eli Manning
They tried. They know he tried. I was like, no. No. I was like, I didn't want to get involved. No, I didn't want to get involved. I was like, I'm. I'm going to plan.
Sherm
Like, that's no fun, Eli.
Eli Manning
I was like, hey, I'm all about it. Like, I love the celebrations. I enjoy it. Like, but my planning is going to be trying to get you the celebration. Like, I want to. I want to do the X's and O's. I want to scout. I'll give you a signal. Like, that's my planning. And then you. You celebrate for the. Both those. He's like, all right, deal. You keep giving me the end zone. Like, I'll be fine with that.
Sherm
How was it when they approached you about doing that commercial with him?
Eli Manning
Yeah, Doing the dirt.
Sherm
I mean, when. It's like, when you walk up to him, you practice. Practice it, and then they go throw a quick little ball and they, like, do this whole. Like, it was a whole choreographed.
Eli Manning
It's a Dirty Dancing. It was. You ever see movie Dirty Dancing? Patrick Swayze.
Michael
Yeah, baby.
Eli Manning
In the corner. Yeah, in the corner. Yeah. Yeah. So it's for the Super Bowl. We did it. And this is.
Sherm
This is. This is a great commercial.
Eli Manning
And so I was a little nervous about it because, like, I. I'd seen the movie Dirty Dancing a lot, and they're like, we want to do the dance. I'm Like, I know the dance there's like a lot. It's like a very intimate dance. A little bit like, I don't know if that's in a fly. And then.
Sherm
Yeah.
Eli Manning
And so once, you know, we got like Landon Collins, we got some of my offensive linemen in the background that come. Come here in a second. So, like, once we got other players involved, I thought I was like, all right. And I was like, but if I'm going to do it, I got to go like, all out. I want. I want to have like the right dude.
Sherm
The hair whip is. Should be illegal. It's too good.
Eli Manning
There you go. We got some of the linemen going, you know, trying to get. Get the dance moves. It was classic seeing them with like the. The person kind of choreographing this whole thing of like, them doing the moves. So it was a fun day.
Sherm
Well, how long did it take for buying with your. With your hogs?
Eli Manning
Well, I think, you know, anything, you know, for them to get on a commercial. Super bowl, they're all in. Yeah, a little bit. They're. They're all.
Sherm
They got a little. They got a little something.
Eli Manning
A little something. Yes. For the effort.
Sherm
For the effort. Yep. Yep. Effort. Fundamentals.
Michael
Front row to this. Josh Norman and obj.
Eli Manning
Yeah, this is a lot.
Sherm
A lot of guys have had. Have had interactions with Josh Norman. Yeah, a lot of guys have gone toe to toe with them.
Eli Manning
I mean, I think that's like. Yeah, yeah, you have. Yeah, right. Sorry. Took me a second and I remember. Yeah. On the sidelines there. Well, I think that was like his. That was like his. His game plan. And actually, like, I think it early in the, like, it was a big deal for the game. Like in the first drive, by the way, we. We hit, I throw a post to him and he drops it. And so like, it would have been a touchdown like, right away. And so like off the get go. I think it got in his head and so. And so I think other. Other DBs, like, saw that they're like, hey, we can rattle him or we can get him so flustered that maybe that might get him out of his game. So I think that's what Josh did. He's like, how do I throw this guy off his game a little bit? And so I'm going to talk trash before I'm going to be physical with him. Them and just try to, you know, do something because he was. He was dominating and you know, and you know, this game, he got off to a slow start making a comeback and he you know, caught a touchdown on him, but he definitely dropped like a post right off the get go that he burnt, burnt Josh, you know, badly on and came in like a
Sherm
missile too, in the middle of the field. Helmet to helmet. Lowered that thing.
Michael
Yeah, bro.
Sherm
What's the most rattled you've ever been a game?
Eli Manning
Oh, probably my, you know, my rookie year. My rookie year.
Sherm
Something Ready?
Eli Manning
That's crazy. I used to assume it'd be Philadelphia, me just getting just destroyed right here, you know. This is, this is, this is, this is your. That's my first game.
Michael
That's your first game?
Eli Manning
My first game, my second drive. I mean, I didn't start the game and I got in first play. I handed Tiki barber, he goes 80 yards for a touchdown down. And then this, this is my second drive. We're getting killed. I'm. I'm like, I want to throw my first touchdown. So there's like 12 seconds left in the game. So I'm like scrambling around and like that was a bad idea and just get Destroyed by Jerome McDougal.
Sherm
Hey, by the way, that was not planned for me to ask you that question.
Eli Manning
No, my horse game, my about, I guess. Well, about 12 games after this. Kurt Warner was starting, I became a starter, like my third or fourth start. Start. We played Baltimore and had a zero quarterback rating. It was like, you know, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and Suggs, they were, they were stacked. I remember like we used to call the mic. You know, you kind of like point out the mic and it like kind of sets your protections. Like, you know, like, you know, and so it's not always the mic. Linebacker is not always the mic. You can move it around. They'd be like, hey, you know, 52 is the mic. And Ray Lewis is like, no, no, no, I'm not the mic. He's the mic. I'm like, yes, sir, 54 is the mic. So like, you know, never a good idea to listen to the defense, you know, make your mic calls. And so the zero quarterback rating, I was. That was my most rattled for sure.
Michael
Okay, let's go.
Sherm
You're right, you're right, Mr. Lewis, I apologize. Yeah, I apologize for that.
Michael
Who's the biggest talker on defense that you've stood across?
Eli Manning
I kind of, you know, I don't remember a whole lot of, you know, talk. I mean, I feel like it was
Sherm
more pure back in his day.
Eli Manning
I mean, I feel like the, I feel like, like the receivers and DBs talk a lot just because they're like on that island out there. Like every play, run play, they can like to talk. We used to have the opposite. Like we played, we played Washington, you know, probably be before you got there. Like Albert Haynesworth was like the big defensive tackle he put came from Tennessee. Well, yeah, it was like unblockable, like, you know, defense. If he didn't get defensive player of the year the year before, he should have. He was unblockable. So we signed him and so we plan him early on we had a guard, Richie Sorbert, and he was like, I'll worry about going against Haynes worth the whole game. So, you know, first play we're, hey, we're going to run like outside to get them tired. Like there was, you know, so after the first play, I might huddle on up and Richie's there talking with Haynesboro. I'm like, hey, hold on, get in here. And Richie, you could hear Richie's going, hey, Albert, just want you to know I voted for you in the Pro bowl last year, man. You're a great player. He did the opposite. Sweet talk them. You sweet talk some of those defensive linemen. They might kind of might not go hard every single play. They get angry like, you don't want to. You don't want to get Albert Haynesworth angry because then he's going to dominate. But if you sweet talk him like, you know, Richie's like coming back. He's like, hey, Albert and I are friends. Like, we're good, we're good. Whatever works. Whatever keeps him away from me.
Michael
Yeah, exactly. That is the move. Like if you're going against like Jeff Simmons or something. Hey, Jeff, big fan.
Sherm
That was always like Ben Jones's move. You just sweet talk the nose the entire. I'm gonna take care of you. Don't worry. Someone's getting rolled up, I'm gonna got your back.
Eli Manning
Don't worry.
Sherm
Yeah, like dumb, but I know you tripped right there. I know you tripped.
Michael
I tell everybody, great route.
Sherm
I hate it.
Michael
Did that it Sprols would like. Not if they wouldn't throw him the ball. And he's like, oh, if I caught that ball, I'm going, I'm going six. I'm like, oh, I know you are, bro. Don't even worry.
Eli Manning
You had to hate going against Sprols, right? Try to guard him one on one. Please don't run this angle route. Like, just don't let him get on the angle. I'll let him have the flat all day. Like, he's not crossing face.
Sherm
We call that rat.
Michael
You talking about.
Sherm
We get like, hell, no, no, what was it when you tell a defensive lineman?
Michael
Oh, I tell him bang. I get the D and a bang call and they back, bro, let me. I want to rush. I'm like, I need you to chip that running back coming out of the backfield. Yeah, no bang.
Sherm
Right, right. How was. How was the process of choosing Ole Miss for you? Because your dad went Ole Miss.
Eli Manning
Dad went to both my parents went to Ole Miss. You know, my brother Coop went to Ole Miss, so we grew up Ole Miss fans. And then Peyton went to Tennessee and
Sherm
did that ruffle the feathers of the family?
Eli Manning
Yeah. No, I mean, he couldn't get an Ole Miss, so maybe it's fine. Didn't have the grades, and I thought the same thing. Yeah. And so, no, I was wide open in the recruiting process. You know, I was probably going to Texas. Mack Brown was the head coach, and they were kind of rocking and rolling there. Ricky Williams was going to be leaving. He was in his senior year and was going to go to Texas. And then David Cutcliffe, everybody, the Ole Miss staff, Tommy Tuberville and their whole staff left Ole Miss, went to Auburn, and that's when David Cutcliffe came in, who was Peyton's offense coordinator at Tennessee. Tennessee. And so new coach cut a bunch, went to football camps at Tennessee. Liked him like this offense. So he kind of brought me back in, and it's like, you know, was on a mission to sign me, and that's kind of what got me to change from Texas and go back to Ole Miss.
Sherm
How a lot of time since you're at Ole Miss?
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
Way past the time for you to ever get in trouble for anything. Was there ever an offer?
Eli Manning
No. No offers? No. No offers.
Sherm
Nothing.
Eli Manning
No, no, no.
Sherm
Edo's Ron type of talking about, hey, we couldn't go back door, bag of money type thing.
Eli Manning
That was. That wasn't. That wasn't the deal. I don't think they, like, knew that was gonna make. Make a difference for. For us, you know, and our family, and we're fine. So, like, you know, I don't think that would have been an aggressive move if someone would have come to me with a bag of money.
Sherm
Probably wouldn't have been the move for you. I don't think you'd been like, I know I can't go here.
Eli Manning
Yeah. I'd be like, this is shady now. Like, they're probably gonna go on probation or something.
Sherm
The level of discomfort taking place. Do you follow a lot of college football now?
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
What is. What do you think the reason is? Why the big Ten is won the last three national championships, basically taken over since the new Nil era.
Eli Manning
Guess they're paying. Yeah. When you have a $25 million, you
Sherm
know, budget, 25 is low now.
Eli Manning
Yeah, it's.
Sherm
Some of the numbers you're hearing are
Michael
crazy close to 50, maybe a little over 50.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I don't know. I think, I mean, I think it's, it's good. I think you kind of go through waves of, you know, the SEC was dominating, now Big Ten's doing well. So I think it's good to have that, that, that, you know, rivalries now they're playing each other like, you know, Texas is playing Ohio State and Texas playing Michigan. They're kind of popping in and playing more. So which I think is good. Like the playoff, I like the playoff system is good because like, you know, you can be a little bit more adventurous and you're scheduling because like not every single game used to be like you lose one game, you're like, oh, we can't win a national championship. Now you can like, you can, hey, let's go play, play some different teams. And then you could still make the playoffs and make a run. Which I think is good for, you know, having some of those early games between the sec, Big Ten, you know, doing that, knowing how.
Michael
Go ahead.
Sherm
I was just saying how cool is it for you? We got Marshall Manning right here. Some highlights going on. On the screen you see Arch, what he's doing at Texas Marshall now he looks like he's rolling out, throwing absolute dimes. You have a seven year old son, correct?
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Sherm
So what is it like for you as an uncle and as a father watching these kids kind of like follow in your entire family's footsteps right now?
Eli Manning
I think it's great. I mean, I love it and I support, support Arch and been, you know, watching him throw since he was little and always just kind of be like, hey, if you need anything, I'm here for you. Like any questions about whatever. Like I'm not going to be a person that's, that's going to be like texting you. Oh, you should have thrown it to this guy. Or voice memo. Yeah, you got a voice memos. Hey, you got to, you know, work on this. Like that's not going to be my style. But like you want help on anything, I'm a text away or if I see, you know, if I see something, I will text them every once in a while. I remember like Arch got his, his first playing time two years ago, you know, just like, you know End of a game, you know, just got a few reps and, like, you know, third down, I could tell on film, like, he kind of forced the throw into, like a. Into cover two. Like, try to throw an out in the COVID two, end up throwing over the guy's head, got to the sideline and, like, Sark was just ripping him. And. And, you know, like, my text was like, hey, did Sark rip you? Because you try to throw an out in the COVID too. And he's like, exactly, exactly what happened. You know, he, like, showed Sark. And I was like, yeah, yeah, you might not want to do that. So that was, like, my advice. I wasn't like, hey, you gotta, like, keep your eyes down the middle. I'm like, no, it's just like, you know, this is for you to enjoy. Figure you got to figure this out on your own a little bit. But there's, you know, anything I can be helpful with along the way. I think the only advice I told him is. Was my move. I eventually learned that you never, you know, like, cell phones and everybody wants a picture, and you're kind of trying to enjoy your college life or you're at a, you know, bar or you're with your buddies at dinner. And I just. I had a rule. I said it was a team rule that you never. You were not allowed to take pictures where alcohol served. I was like, just a good excuse. And, like, people believe it. So if you're, like, ever something that's like, oh, sorry, I can't take a picture or alcohol serve, it's a team rule. And they're like, oh, that makes sense. Like, that's. That's a good rule. It's like, you can wait till I leave and do it or whatever. I still. I still do it now. They're like, wait a. You're not on a team. I'm like,
Sherm
wife's rules, family rules, house rules.
Eli Manning
House rules. Exactly how hard.
Sherm
Go ahead.
Michael
I was going to say Coupe has Arch. Taylor was saying that Peyton has Marshall, and we got a little Charlie. Like, what's Charlie about to walk into?
Eli Manning
Oh, yeah, Knowing that family.
Michael
Yeah. The competition.
Sherm
Because the comp. It seems like the competition's been there since day one for everybody.
Michael
Right.
Sherm
Right. Yeah.
Eli Manning
He's playing some flag football. So, you know, he's. He's. He's throwing it around a little bit.
Michael
So we gotta. We gotta. We got an arm right now, as of right now.
Eli Manning
He can throw it. He can throw it, but he. He. He likes to, you know, play. Play all the. All all the positions, play receiver, do, do everything. So I'm, I'm not. Got to work on your five step drop. It's, it's more, you know, we, we played every sport growing up. So he plays hockey, he plays, he plays baseball, he plays basketball, he plays lacrosse. Like, he's just. Whatever season is, you join in there. But every once in a while we'll kind of go in the backyard and I'll, I'll work on a few things. Kind of the throwing this, like, hey, try, try this or try stepping towards your target or you know, hey, try this little five step drop or three steps. So you know, every once in a while just do it and just to see if it's in there. Just to see if it's in there.
Delaney Walker
I love it.
Sherm
I love that you're like, we don't work on five step drops. And you talk about the process everything
Eli Manning
a little bit, but just casually.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
Not like, hey, we got practice 5:00am yeah, yeah, yeah. He's seven.
Michael
Oh, he's seven.
Eli Manning
Yeah.
Michael
So when does the 5:00am or start to kick in?
Eli Manning
No, no, 5:00am Are we, are we
Michael
allowed to say he's a generational talent right now?
Eli Manning
No, we're not.
Sherm
If he, if he comes here and he's like, dad, I truly, I want to do what you did. I believe in this. Like, what does that conversation look like in your head? Head about, okay, if you want to achieve this goal, this is what we have to do.
Eli Manning
Well, I would think this would be like him when he's 14 or 15 years old, right? Double right, yeah. So like, if he says, hey, I want to, you know, I think it'd be more like, hey, I want to play college football. Like, it's like, I think that's like, you know, when I, when I played, it was all about like just getting like one step ahead. Like, really, when I was high school, I was like, hey, I want to win a state championship. Like, that was the goal. And eventually I knew, like, maybe my junior year year, it's like, you know what? I really like to play college football. It's like, was never about getting to the NFL. Just like, you know, just continuing this journey of playing football. I love what I do and I like the workouts, I like the film watching. I like to study parts of it. So it's got it. Like with all sports, I think it's got to come from them. It's got to be, they, they got to love it. They got to want to do it. They gotta, you know, kind of, if they come and ask me for help. Happy to do it, but I'm not going to force them into anything. So I want them to find, find their passion in whatever sport that might be or whatever activity or, or hobby.
Sherm
Is there ever a point though where he's like, I want to make it to college or do you like, all right, this is what I did. We're going to do these types of workouts. You're just like, all right, great. We have great coaches that take place. If you ever need anything, I'm here. I think.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I think you look for outside help. Like, I mean I had you know, speed coaches obviously for my massive speed, but like, you know, but I like did all those things and I had you know, early workouts. So I, yeah look for like, you know, someone to, someone to train them or someone to work with. But I think you listen to your high school coaches. I think you like whoever your coach is like now everybody like I think every quarterback has a quarterback coach and has. And there's programs out there like you know, David, my buddy David Morris, I think with Marshall's videos refer QB country. That was my backup quarterback at Ole Miss. It's got a football camp and football coaches and company that does a great job and David trained me and when I was in the NFL, but you know, I didn't have a, a football like side coach when I was in high school. Now I think everybody does. So I think, you know that you'll probably, you'll if he, if he wants to take that, you kind of look for that also. But you know, I could, you know, I could be helpful and beneficial. But I think it's good when someone besides your dad kind of drilling you right.
Sherm
Do you ever think like it becomes, become like too much in a lot of ways with like all the social media, the coaches, the speed coaches, everything. When I mean we all grew up in like you just play sports, right? And then you know who the better ones and the worst ones are. And then as you get older it's like, oh, this one hit puberty, he's doing pretty good now. And then like eventually you just like get good, right? And now it's like these 10 year olds are out there working, doing cone drills and stuff like that, right? Is it become. Do you think we're like hitting a little too much here?
Eli Manning
It's probably too much. Yeah, for sure. And there's, you see it in new sports. There's probably some issues of, of parents like kind of maybe getting a little bit too involved or Trying to live their dreams through their kids. And I see it on both sides. You see all of a sudden, one kid's doing a little extra work or going to an extra camp or doing more clinics, and you're like, well, is that what we need to be doing? We want our kid to make the team. When do you start? So it's a lot of learning and what you need to do and making some of those mistakes. But I think, again, comes down to. Let's listen to. To our kid a little bit and. And see what they. What they want, what. What do they like?
Michael
But also, hey, what a hell of an opportunity to go to the Manning quarterback camp.
Eli Manning
There you go. Yeah. Manning Passing Academy. There you go.
Sherm
You brought up hockey. Charlie's kind of nice. Got some.
Eli Manning
He's got some. He's. He's okay. He's okay. You know, Seven, you know, But I have a daughter. I have a daughter, you know, I have a daughter that does, like, travel hockey. It's. It's. It's fun. It's like, I've. No, I. You know, I think it's. I don't know if it's coincidental that, like, all my kids, you know, I coached them when they were playing basketball. I coached them. They're like, my girls were playing softball. I'm like, I could do that and, like, know this stuff. But. And now, like, all. Especially my. My three girls, their sports are lacrosse, swimming, and ice hockey. Three sports I know nothing about. So I don't know if that's coincidental. They went into sports that I can't be involved in. And, like, I just, like, all right, I'll sit and watch, and I won't say anything. Yeah, perfect.
Sherm
Hey, as long as you love doing it. That's all I'm at.
Eli Manning
Exactly.
Michael
Should we get into some. Some fun.
Sherm
Yes. And fan questions.
Michael
Yeah. This one comes from Austin Smiley. Austin Underscore Smiley. This is tier one right here. Does he like that? Ole Miss recognizes the 2003 SEC west title when they didn't even go to Atlanta.
Eli Manning
So. Yeah. So just the context. We actually. So we. LSU and us split the. The West. They won the tiebreaker and got to go to the SEC Championship. But I guess technically, you know, we were still the west champions tied, but they might have removed it by now. I don't know. I think so. But. But we've. Yeah. You know, it's. It's not. Not the. Not the greatest thing. We could probably get rid of that. Yeah.
Sherm
Move on. We got a. A question here from Big Sack Sheriff 18.
Eli Manning
Oh, wow.
Sherm
When was the first time you beat Peyton one on one in basketball. And did you dunk on him?
Eli Manning
I did, I did, I dunked on him. So I was, I would say I was probably like a junior in high school. So this is, you know, probably somewhere around 1997 or 8 he came, came back home from college. He was at Tennessee and we had a great little backyard in a basketball hoop and we started playing one on one and he played a 10 by ones and it was kind of a, you know, it's not a pretty match. Like it's not like, it's not us like shooting threes. It is like you're driving, you're backing them in. It's elbows and it's like, you know, it's just an ugly like wrestling match and. And I finally beat. He like went for a steal or something. I got up and I dunked on him and I was like fired up. Of course he's pissed. He like storms off. My dad's sitting there just biting his nails the whole time because like I'm like going off to play Ole Miss. Eventually he's at Tennessee. Number one player in the country, College. Just like, you know, worried that some one of us didn't get hurt or. Yeah, or we're just gonna fight each other. And so like the. I remember like that night he didn't like, didn't talk to me at dinner, like wouldn't, wouldn't say anything. And like the next day we're like, hey, we'll play tomorrow afternoon. Like I'll get done at school, back from school. We'll play at like 5 o'. Clock. And it came home the next day and my dad had taken down the goal. That was it. So I, you know, so we never played again. So I'm a better basketball player.
Michael
This one comes from your older brother that's undefeated against you forever. 18. You played Summer baseball.
Eli Manning
Oh good.
Michael
Why did you quit? What happened during your last game in your last at battle at bat?
Eli Manning
Geez, these are very specific questions. Like I think they know the answer already. Yeah, my last at bat. So I was, I was, I was, I don't think I started the game. So I got kind of put in in like the eighth inning, played first base. I think I dropped, you know, dropped the pop fly and like, you know, had a bad, you know, half inning. So get up the bat, I'm lefty. And there's, you know, there's, there's two out and so you know, strike right down the middle. Looking Next pitch, strike, Right. You know, fastball down the middle, looking, you know, so. Oh. And to those little offspeed one. It's like, in the dirt, and I kind of. I go to swing at it, but pull back and. And so I don't know if it's like, you know, they called it a swing or not. And the ball got past the catcher, so I think, drop. Third strike. So I start running down the first. I get the first. The catcher throws it over the first baseman's head. So now I'm like, oh, I can. I can turn this into a double. The hard, um. And so I got. I started going to second, and then. And I knew I was gonna get thrown out, so I get, like, a rundown between first and second. Slide back in the first. He's safe. He's safe. I'm like, all right. I'm like, dust myself off. Like, all right, we can get a little rally going here. And then all of a sudden, like, the home plate guys like, no, no, no, he didn't swing. He. He didn't swing. It's just a ball. So I have to go walk back to the plate. Next pitch, fastball down the middle, take it looking, strike out. And I was like, you know what? I think I'm done with baseball. I think that's the end of it. That's it. That was the end. Worst, you know, experience I've ever.
Sherm
That walk back had to be crazy. The long ways. You go first base back down, or do you go just straight down the middle through the pitcher?
Eli Manning
No. Yeah, just right down first base as I'm arguing, like, no, no, I did swing. No, I struck out. I. I swung. I promise. Like, no, it's like the only person fighting for the swing.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
On a draw, on a. On a third strike.
Sherm
That is hilarious. This one comes from Killian Casey. A. Eli, how are you so talented and handsome? And how do you transfer that talent and handsomeness to just Jackson?
Eli Manning
Great question. I love. I love Casey. Yeah. Yeah. Talented and handsome. It's just natural. Just natural ability. You know, I. I do a lot of. A lot of moisturizer in the face. Keep it young. Yeah. And then Jack. Yeah. I think Jackson. I think he moisturizes also.
Michael
He looks like he's a good skincare routine.
Eli Manning
Yeah. Good skin care. He's got good flow. He's got good flow going on. So I think Jackson's in. In good shape.
Michael
Do you got some juice, bro? He's got some juice.
Eli Manning
He's got some Riz.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
Some r. Yeah, he does do you think it should be a part of, like, Ole Miss? Quarterbacks have to have good skincare routines in order to be a quarterback there.
Eli Manning
Yeah, I think. I think so. I think they're a lot, you know, there you get a lot of keels, you know, kind of moisturizer at Old Mist. They just kind of hand it out there. So you got to keep. Keep the skin.
Sherm
I love that.
Eli Manning
Good.
Sherm
I love it.
Michael
We got one here from Drew. Shfr6003. 9. Question for E. Eli. When did you realize you were the funniest and more entertaining Manning brother, and how do you think Arch will do at the next level?
Eli Manning
I think my brother Coop is the funniest and most entertaining Manning brother. So I know he's not on TV as much, but he does some stuff and we spit a lot of ideas past coupe that he approves. And I'm sure he actually wrote Peyton's speech, AKA my speech for tonight. And I think, you know what, Arch? I'm excited, you know, I'm excited for this season. I'm excited for that. You know, your second year is, like, the true starter in college. I think it's a big year, so I think he'll have a big year in college, and then we'll see what happens going. Going forward, but just excited to be. Be. Get to watch him and kind of be. Be there for the. For. For his journey and get to support him in any way.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Sherm
From a Coop standpoint, like, do you and Peyton ever struggle about, like, how awesome a brother that both of you both speak on cooperation being, but he doesn't get clearly any, like, publicity or credit for the kind of guy he also is in your family.
Eli Manning
Yeah. I mean, I think everybody that's been around us and been around Coop, I mean, they say it to him and say it to us that, you know, Coops the best of all of both of y'. All. So I think, you know, I think Coops has a good perspective on life. And he was an athlete. He got into injured, didn't get to, you know, kind of fulfill his dreams of playing, you know, college football or NFL, but. But he, you know, kind of said, I'm gonna live my dream through, through. Through you. And so he was at our games. He was supportive. He was proud of us. Like, he was never bitter. He was never, you know, why me? Like, he never had that attitude, and I always appreciated that. So I think, you know, just kind of that, you know, appreciation that he had two brothers that he got to watch and root for where it's from.
Delaney Walker
Was.
Eli Manning
Was special for him and not, you know, something that he dreaded.
Sherm
Yeah. Which one's your favorite?
Eli Manning
Brothers.
Sherm
Yeah.
Eli Manning
I don't know.
Sherm
Everyone's got a favorite.
Eli Manning
It's like, you know, it's like your favorite kid. You have one, but you're not allowed to say.
Sherm
That's fair. I feel like. And like, what was it? Deion Sanders. He's like, yeah, I love you guys all but, like, it changes.
Michael
Yeah. There's.
Sherm
In this moment, May 1st is when this is being filmed. Who's your favorite? Right now?
Eli Manning
Right now? Well, it's Peyton's birthday party, so he invited me to this party. Yeah.
Delaney Walker
Yeah.
Sherm
You got invited to the birthday.
Eli Manning
He wrote my speech. He's taking care. He didn't want me to be nervous about you know, coming up with a speech. I'll just handle it for you.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
I think that is the funniest thing for somebody to write their own speech for them. Yeah, that's hilarious.
Michael
You want to hit him with the Bud Light question?
Sherm
Yeah. So, Eli, everyone would do anything for an ice cold. But Bud Light. What's something that Eli Manning would do anything for? Can't say. Family.
Eli Manning
Oh, I would do. I know we've kind of talked about this before a little bit, but I do anything for spring break just to keep having spring breaks the rest of my life.
Michael
To just check out.
Eli Manning
Yeah. I mean, like. Yeah, so, like, my kids are gonna be in college. I'd be like, where are we going? Spring break, you know, what are we doing? I'm joining in. So I think, like, I'll be. Yeah, that's just me. I can't wait for grandkids. You know, just when my kids don't have spring break, I can take them on spring break.
Michael
It's Charlie 7.
Eli Manning
Yes. Come on, hurry up. I need some. I need some more. I want unlimited. Like, I always wanted to change my kids from different schools so they'd have different spring breaks. I get two weeks of it. I want it when they're not on the same system, on the same program, same schedule. That'd be better for me.
Sherm
I know you got to get out of here, but if you could just paint me a picture of, like, what your perfect spring break would be, that'd be amazing.
Eli Manning
I think it's just like, yeah, Beach. It's doing, like, kind of, you know, wake. Wake up early. Do. Do a little fishing. Take. Take Charlie and Caroline, two of my kids that really like fishing. Go out there, catch, like, a giant tuna for, like, two or three hours. Come Back kind of. The other kids are waking up. Go play a little. Play a little, like, pickleball or something. Like it's moving around a little. A little, like, you know, a little cocktail at lunch, like some fish tacos and, you know, a little rum punch or some sort. And then, yeah, kind of sit. Sit by the beach. Throw the football with Charlie on the beach a little bit.
Michael
Jump in the water, Work on the five step.
Eli Manning
Yeah, work on the five step. Just get the tan going. And then, yeah, a little early dinner. Go to. Go to bed early again and repeat, you know, There it is. There it is.
Sherm
What an answer, man.
Michael
Yeah.
Sherm
You just put it all together.
Eli Manning
Let's put it there.
Sherm
We. We really appreciate you coming on, taking your time.
Michael
And by the way, Chad Power. Powers.
Eli Manning
Chad Powers.
Michael
I know that's involved doing that show. A plus.
Eli Manning
Thank you.
Michael
Because even when it's coming out, I'm like, okay. It feels like it's kind of. They're kind of running the Chad Powers thing into the ground. But you watch the show and the comedy, like, it's funny.
Sherm
It's legit. It's legitimately good.
Eli Manning
I remember, Yeah, I didn't, you know, when they were like, Michael Waldron, them wrote it. I remember reading, like, the scripts and, like, this dying, laughing. I was like, wow. I like, not see that going this way.
Michael
Yeah.
Eli Manning
But, like, really, really funny.
Michael
So I'm bought in too. Like, I was pissed when the ending scene where he's to play the game. I know. There's so much going on that I need to.
Sherm
I know.
Eli Manning
And obviously they. They. You know, they pick Glenn pal. Just because we have such similar physique, like, abs.
Michael
Absolutely.
Eli Manning
Exactly the same. You saw it on my beach pod earlier, so that's probably why they cast down.
Sherm
Were you nervous saying your line?
Eli Manning
Yeah, just cursing twice more like, hey, how. How's. How's wifey gonna handle this? She wasn't a big fan of. Of my. Of my. My. My line. Line.
Michael
Okay, fair enough.
Sherm
Yeah, that's totally fair.
Michael
Thanks for coming on bus.
Eli Manning
Yeah, thanks, guys, so much.
Sherm
And if you have. I know season two is up, but if you ever want us to cameo for the show, we're more than.
Michael
We'll take the lines.
Sherm
I'll say the worst words. Whatever you guys want me to say. Yeah, whatever you need me to do. Anything for art, right?
Michael
Anything. It's bigger than us.
Sherm
It is. It is. Like, yeah. Yeah. I split my mind. Anyway, let's give, right? Apostle Mary, what an incredible podcast. Please subscribe. Comment, Comment. Big hugs. Tiny kisses. Hey, we can.

Eli Manning
They were a good team. They were a good team there. Akeem had a big one. Little. He caught. Yeah. Caught a touchdown, then caught the Hail Mary.
Michael
So. Yeah, we'll see you next week.
