Josh Pate
Hey, good morning, everybody. Welcome into the locker room with myself, Will Compton. Don't laugh right now, dude. And jot. Definitely not you, Josh. Don't do that. You're much more professional than that. And the commissioner of college football, Josh bay, is week 12 in the college football season. Today we're talking Utah at Baylor. Guys, that was a Big 12 game there. Iowa going to USC, Louisiana. We'll talk about that roster, how they've never even seen that type of life before. Notre Dame, Pitt, OU at Bama, and then Texas at Georgia. Last week we called it Separation Sunday. I guess you could say we had.
Will Compton
That a little bit.
Josh Pate
Myself, three and two, injured or not, we're picking games correctly at this point. Will Compton, 1 and 4. My foot doesn't work. His brain doesn't work. Together we make a full human being and Josh Pate is the king. We had that guy up there in October. He was Mr. - six and a half. Josh Pate is Mr. 2 and 3. He has done that five weeks in a row. Say what you want about him, he is consistent. Am I playing injured today? Yes. Is it gout?
Colin Coward
No.
Josh Pate
Is it because of gout? Most likely, yes. That doesn't matter. My pain doesn't matter. What matters to me is that you subscribe to this show. You've enjoyed it. We see the comments. You guys have loved it. Do us a favor, please just hit that subscribe button. It doesn't hurt you at all, and it helps us a whole lot. And if you feel bad, look at this. Have a hell of a show. Football is back.
Colin Coward
That means it's tailgate time. And this season the only meat I'm going to grill is deets and Watson. I'm loving the Black Angus Dietz dogs. They're flavor packed and you can tell they are made with the highest quality ingredients. Sundays just got a whole lot better.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Visit deetsandwatson.com the right way to learn more about the deets difference.
Colin Coward

Josh Pate
That's right. Now, if you Open up the FanDuel Sportsbook app Saturday, you're going to see some college football lines. You'll see a little college football parlay from yours truly and you'll see our boosting with the boys profit boost token.
Colin Coward
I'm telling you right now, boys, go claim that token and I'll give you.
Josh Pate
A little example of what happens when you claim the token. Because this gentleman, this sweet, smart, genius gentleman just walked away with $3,000. If you're cooking up a 14 leg parlay card.
Colin Coward
Popper, we got a 14 leg parlay at plus 62,537 odds. He put $5.30 on it and won $3,288.40. Nine picks were moneyline picks. The other five picks were against the spread. Again, just visit the FanDuel sportsbook app. Opt into our boosting with the boys profit boost token and make yourself a nice little parlay. You can keep it calm, you can go wild. Just make sure you boost with our profit boost token.
Josh Pate
Josh, I. I know we're not on this part of the show at all, but I see your weekly parlay. Wow.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah.
Josh Pate
I can't believe you. That's. That's a huge dub.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Could have gone Northwestern but didn't with parlay.
Josh Pate
The parlay, the weekly parlay we'll talk about at the end of the show. I just peeked at the card of where we were all sitting at Josh's and I was like, oh, this Is.
Colin Coward
Oh, he's got.
Josh Pate
He's got it.
Colin Coward
The purple team.
Josh Pate
No.
Colin Coward
Okay.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
But could have. Could have, but won't do that again.
Josh Pate
What you're saying is your computer thingy likes it.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah.
Josh Pate
Likes Northwest.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It just keeps liking Michigan to win, Dog to cover. It's been on a roll. It's got Michigan pretty well nailed now. It will not have Michigan.
Josh Pate
Michigan to win. Northwestern to cover.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, it. Cause just like I had against Purdue and then you pushed back on me and I said, follow me.
Josh Pate
That is a textbook. I was not wrong. The players were.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, they did screw up in my favor.
Josh Pate
Yeah. In your favor.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. Common misconception. The players don't always screw up against you. It's just when they screw up in your favor, you had a little something to do with it.
Josh Pate
And if I'm the players and I'm digesting both of these shows, obviously they've been busting with the boy's fan, but I'm sure with the. They see the Pate State Freight Train team moving.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
The acronym.
Josh Pate
Yeah, the acronym. Is that what it is? And the fact that you guys might be at 500,000 subscribers by Thanksgiving.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
That's what some are saying.
Josh Pate
Some are saying that, like, I would kind of want to get on that train. And so I think they kind of threw you a bone there this week, though. I definitely believe Michigan is going to cover.
Colin Coward
There was somebody not throwing you a bone over the weekend. Having fun online. Is that. Does that profile ring a bell?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Oh, my goodness. Well, it did ring a bell. I guess we have to speak about him in past tense.
Colin Coward
Yeah, he's dead.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I don't. I didn't play football. But he doesn't play Twitter anymore, so he's not having fun on.
Colin Coward
Did you see.
Josh Pate
No, I saw.
Colin Coward
Did you see somebody try to come after our boy?
Josh Pate
I did see somebody try to come after our boy. And I keep saying the name Brandon Walker, but no one's really responding, so I'm assuming it's not Brandon.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Has anyone ever responded to the name Brandon Walker? Mississippi State does it.
Colin Coward
There was somebody. Can I read this?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Sure.
Colin Coward
May I read this out? This is actually Josh Pate's new introduction. The problem with Josh Pate is he has zero real pedigree. Even the smallest remote achievement is absent. Didn't play college football. Didn't work as a coach or administrator in college football. Didn't cut his chops. Building sources and getting scoops and writing about college football. Mind you, all of these. All these statements have exclamation points behind it. This dude is fired up.
Josh Pate
Hey, so far, level of truth, right?
Colin Coward
Didn't sit. Didn't sit through production meetings with coaches and players to broadcast college football.
Josh Pate
Is that true, too?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. Look, we're four for four.
Colin Coward
Just a bald guy with a white T shirt and a microphone who likes the most rudimentary aspects of the game.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Guy went seven for seven. Yeah, seven for seven.
Josh Pate
Respect the Sevens.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
How will I ever make it?
Josh Pate
Yeah, what?
Colin Coward
You want to know where this guy is now?
Josh Pate
He's probably 6ft under in a ditch somewhere in Georgia. Yeah, by that haunted house he was talking about way back when. We used to go with his friends and try to scare each other with it.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, yeah, the Korean house. Hey, think about this. The guy didn't even have his real name or face, and it still got so hot for him, he had to bail on Twitter.
Colin Coward
It still got too hot. He started off with going private, and then next thing you know, I get word, oh, he's done. The profile no longer exists. And the profile was having fun online. He bought a blue check mark and everything.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, I gotta give credit.
Josh Pate
Was this Josh Payt? Did you do this yourself or did you just send out a court case?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I gotta give credit. So the state folks came after him all day, and all he did was go private. But then reinforcements show up about 20 hours later.
Colin Coward
Right. Ratio was coming for him. So hot.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah.
Colin Coward
He had to get out of there.
Additional Voice / Ad Voice
Right.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Right about sundown, you know, it's like I'm George Bush and someone leans in and goes, sir, Compton's reinforcements have arrived. And once that response goes up. Yeah, our boy disappeared into the wind. Yeah.
Colin Coward
Target, eradicate.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
He's the Zodiac. We don't know where he is now.
Colin Coward
Yeah, yeah. T's and P's. Should we have a moment of silence?
Josh Pate
Absolutely.
Colin Coward
Godspeed. Having fun online.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I hope he's having fun.
Josh Pate
It's not for everybody.
Colin Coward
It's not. Hey, not for everybody. The Internet game is not for everybody.
Additional Voice / Ad Voice
Taylor, just going wide and seeing your boot is hilarious.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Do we even want to talk about that or should we just move on?
Colin Coward
We almost lost another soldier.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, we did.
Josh Pate
Over the weekend. I'll be honest, for the last 14 days, I've been fighting for my life. Just quietly suffering in front of you guys while trying to give the people content. It's been hell. I miss the days of freely walking. That's what I miss. You know, like a healthy man wants a bunch of things. A sick man just wants one thing. Yeah, I'm the sick man. I just want to. I Want to. I want two feet that work. I want to be able to walk around this earth again like I used to.
Colin Coward
So is there an out?
Josh Pate
Did you know I was a pro Bowler?
Colin Coward
Did you know that?
Josh Pate
That, you know, I was like, one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL for a little bit.
Colin Coward
The images. Look at me now, just seeing my boy. I'm slowly just becoming a pedestrian, man.
Josh Pate
No, I'm past that, dude. Pedestrians look down on me.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
A statistic.
Josh Pate
I'm a statistic.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You're a statistic. Oh, you are not having hurts like.
Josh Pate
You saying it like that.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
A statistic.
Josh Pate
Because I think I'm becoming one.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You're becoming a narp?
Will Compton
Yeah.
Josh Pate
Non athlete, regular person. We called those Muggles in Michigan. But yeah. Yeah, dude, it's. It's been hell. I had gout. I. I will say, like, I fought valiantly, and it's weird to, like, pat yourself on the back with that, but I started to get gout right before one of the best days of the year, Halloween. Trick or treated with my kids, met up with Will. Will goes, I didn't even know you were dealing with.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, you didn't even sell it right.
Josh Pate
I was just quietly limping by myself for others. Yeah. Just being with my kids. And we walked that neighborhood, man. Went down, came back. By the time we get done with the walk, I'm hurting, dude. That whole weekend, I'm laid up. Is it bad? I don't know. Like, I get to watch football the whole time, so it kind of worked out for me. And every time I put it up, it felt great. Starts to get a little bit better and better and better. This Monday is when I really took a turn. I was like, oh, I think I'm finally getting back to me. Hit myself a little workout. Tuesday, hit a workout. And then sometime yesterday, I get home, I'm walking around a little bit and playing with the kids, and my foot just starts to really hurt. And it's like, yeah, whatever, dude. We've been here before. This is not too bad. Go put my kids to sleep. It's. By the time my kids are asleep in bed and I'm walking down to my room, I am in so much pain. I'm, like, grabbing onto the hand railing, like, going down the stairs, doing the One foot, Gather my bad foot. One foot, gather my back foot. I sit there with my wife. Finish season one of Landman. Incredible. Incredible. Have you seen it?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Not only have I seen it, I spoke to the guy Saturday who the show is based on, who is loosely Cody Campbell at Texas Tech or Monty in the show. Jon Hamm. Continue season two. This.
Josh Pate
He's a lot.
Colin Coward
That's awesome. We'll follow up on that.
Josh Pate
We will follow up on that. Finish that. And we're laying in bed and my foot is in so much pain. The difference in the gout, and this is the gout I would be able, like, put up and finally get to a position where I go, I can fall asleep. There's no pain here. I was in so much painless, and I looked at my wife, I go, hey, I hate this, but I think I'm gonna go to the hospital, like, and just figure out, like, this foot's broken or something. Go to the hospital. I'm there till 3am Listen to entire week. Was it 1112? Week 12 predictions from Josh Pate. Realize it. Like, 1202, 1203. Like, holy shit, Scotty just turned one. So I got some good things out of the way that easily I could have forgotten about, especially the birthday. I mean, that is textbook me to forget something like that. So some good things came out of it. Bad news. I think they think I tore ligaments in my foot because of walking with such a swollen foot. I was putting so much pressure in areas that there usually isn't pressure and some of these ligaments torn.
Colin Coward
So we talking surgery, buddy.
Josh Pate
If I have to have surgery because a gal like put Old Yeller me, take me outside, talk real nice to me where my heart rate finally gets down to, like, a relaxed pace and pull the trigger. That would be awful. So I don't know yet. Long story short, here I am, five hours of sleep, I'm in a boot crutches. Get out. I see you. You kind of do this in your car as you're on a conference call with Lane Kiffin. I just hear Will go, oh, got him again. I just think, where else would you rather be? Lawn. You see what that is?
Colin Coward
Getting out of the car, he's handing, like, crutches.
Josh Pate
Like, I see JP's face drawn, like, slowly. My boys are just watching me. Deter.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
And you lean. You forgot to tell people you leaned on the car until the crutches were handed to you. You couldn't stand up. His kid got a happy birthday. I got a podcast download. You got torn ligaments out of this one, right?
Josh Pate
Yeah, man. I try to lift you boys up, you know, try to lift up the Comptons. Trying to be that uncle, that godfather that. Hey. Fucking. He was the first one to text. Here I am, man in a boot, thinking I gotta fly to New York tonight.
Colin Coward
We gotta wear suits tomorrow.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Cause where's Matt at? Yeah. He's on the other side for a reason. Because he knew I was gonna bring it up. We have to wear suits tomorrow.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Could this just be a waist up situation, do you think?
Josh Pate
I might have to be. You know what? It might have to be?
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Josh Pate
I'm not even wearing a suit that fits me. I'm looking like I'm just for a court appearance. I'm wearing.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You're up there applying for a loan.
Josh Pate
I'm wearing 310 Taylor suits. That's what I'm wearing. Anywho, we're gonna have a hell of a show today, boys.
Colin Coward
Let's have a hell of a show.
Josh Pate
Yeah, but hold on. Before we get into the actual show, talk to me about this guy you met that was based on Monty.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. So Monty is Jon Hamm in Landman.
Josh Pate
Yes.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
And he's a big energy billionaire and he just sits in his office all day, flies around on private planes. Although, spoiler, I don't want to Spoiler alert. If you haven't seen Landman season one, check it out.
Josh Pate
It's almost been a year.
Colin Coward
The new season comes out, season two's coming, so at this point, they shouldn't get on.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It should be given 24 hours. I don't even want to spoil the end of Twister for people. And that came out in the mid-90s, but that's based loosely on the whole west Texas oil drilling energy scene. And I was just out there. Cody Campbell is the guy who's basically, well, one of the main guys who's bankrolling Texas Tech right now. The legend out there has it that that show and the character of Jon Hamm, Monty is based on Cody Campbell and the Double Eagle Energy guys. And so when I was out there in spring, they were saying, hey, man, we're trying to get Landman on campus for season two because there's a quarterback in the show who's committed to Texas Tech. I don't know if he stays committed in season two. You know how nil is now.
Josh Pate
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You know, the portal can be, but we'll see if he stays committed. But I was like talking to Joey McGuire. You guys are going to get involved in this. And he said, we're trying. If you want to mention it on your show, it sure could help. We're trying. So we put the call out there, and this was months ago when they were filming season two. So I haven't gotten an update, but we're going to See, because season two drops really soon. We sound like we're just full on promotional for the show.
Josh Pate
Yeah. This is not. This is no free shout outs, but there's no promotional.
Colin Coward
Free shout out to.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yes. Based on, you know, like, people who are kind of bankrolling the Texas Tech program right now. I know that's not a shock to many people, especially those of us who are out there and saw that place. Probably the best facilities in the country right now.
Josh Pate
That's what people. So we had Maguire on the show and he was talking about the facilities somebody else brought up. Like, people think they have the facilities. It's not like everyone might have number two. We absolutely have the best. And a kid from Arizona, like, Texas Tech was never on my radar ever as a place to even humor. Like, I didn't know anything about it. But you watch a show like Landman, you see all the TT's on there. You see how they're doing this year. It's perfect storm for me. I'm like, I gotta see what Lubbock, Texas is all about. You see the atmosphere this past weekend.
Colin Coward
And it's like, how much better can they be than all the spots we've went around?
Josh Pate
Right?
Colin Coward
How much better?
Josh Pate
You know what I mean? Nebraska, for instance, they just did what, a $250 million renovation?
Colin Coward
It was something crazy.
Josh Pate
And it's incredible.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Josh Pate
I mean, Michigan did one a couple years ago. It's incredible. LSU's is incredible. Oregon is doing a 500 million revolution. Alabama, like, we've seen the pinnacle. At least we thought.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Place is pretty incredible.
Josh Pate
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I gotta. The only thing I can compare it to is people who have been around Texas or if you've ever been around really, really big time high school football. I'm talking about like 6, 7, 8, depending on what state you're from. The way that those towns. Those towns are on a Friday night. Yeah. The way those towns are on a Friday night where the whole thing just shuts down. Like everybody. The cops are all in, the gas station attendants, they're all in for whatever that hometown team is. If you took that. That vibe and you turn the volume up to like 200, that's kind of what Lubbock is like. And you know what college towns are like. You know what Athens is like. Ann Arbor's like, Lincoln's like, those are college towns. Lubbock is a college town. I don't know how to describe this unless you just go there, but it feels almost like a high school town in that everything is shut down for Texas Tech. Everything's all in for Texas Tech. It's six hours in any direction to the nearest civilization. You know, you're just on the moon and all you got is the guy next to you. You all got like Red Raider blood coursing through your veins. And oh, we got the nicest facilities in the country now. And oh, we just bought ourselves a multi seven figure defensive line. Oh, we may go win the Big 12. We're all in. That's what it's like out there.
Colin Coward
God.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Awesome.
Colin Coward
Did you see, did you see the.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Video that I shot from the sideline of when. When they were doing swag surfing, which every student body does, but they don't know it because they don't go around the country every week like we do. So. But they're doing it. And they got the red smoke coming out of the little pipe there and they got the mascot on the front row and there's a kid holding a poster that says, I love oil money. Drill, baby, drill. That's Texas Tech. Brings the tour to mind.
Josh Pate
We got to get there for this.
Colin Coward
Texas Tech another what, sixth College Football.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Playoff ranking Could, could, could bump up to fifth. Yeah, some say they could bump up inside the top four. I'm not. Some, some people say they could bump up inside the top four.
Josh Pate
Realistically, they go play Ohio State, Indiana, A and M, Alabama. Where are they? Have you done the FanDuel neutral site conversation?
Colin Coward
Has Meemaw hit the model?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They would be a dog against all four of those, but not like a three touchdown dog. Not like USF would be or something like that. That'd be competitive.
Colin Coward
Two touchdown dogs.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
No, two. Maybe like between seven and 12, depending on which team you're talking about. But look, here's what I think we need to do. This is a team in the Big 12. So what we need to do is we need to refocus our microscope. Can they win the Big 12? And if they win the Big 12, to me that's a highly successful season. Whatever happens in the playoff is whatever happens in the playoff. I said the same thing about Kenny and Arizona State last year. Yeah, like, this is a conference that is not operating on the same level as the Big ten of the sec. So to me, it's always been stupid to look at him and say, well, hey, the only way you validate yourself in my mind is if you go win playoff games. Win your conference. The Big 12 is the most evenly pitted conference in America. You don't have the vast disparity between have and have. Not out there. Historically, like you do in the SEC or the Big Ten. Like Purdue's not winning the Big Ten right now, Kentucky's not winning the SEC right now. But you could really go from last to first in the Big 12, especially if you invest like they did. So that would be a happy story.
Colin Coward
To me with Texas Tech. If we get in the Heisman talk, where do you have Jacob Rodriguez?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
He's got to be up there. I don't really do Heisman much. I would have him in my top five safely. How do I measure him against what Fernando Mendoza is doing? What Julian saying is doing, what Jeremiah Love is doing, who probably ironically, is not getting quite enough love right now. Might not be, but may after this weekend, I did pick him.
Colin Coward
In the present, it'll come down to big moments. I feel like some of that spotlight is coming into Texas Tech now that they are, you know, handling business, winning the way that they are going into as a heavy, like a big time favorite for the Big 12. And now that you know his name is getting out there once he has one of those big moments. That's how I felt like when we were talking the last linebacker to be in the conversation with Mantay Teo. Like he had what, seven takeaways and anytime it felt like the microscope was getting on him more, he'd have an interception, he'd have a play to where.
Josh Pate
You'Re talking about validating the conversation.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
When Mantay Teo would pick a ball, I remember watching other games on esp. There would be breaking news on the bottom line. Mantatteo intercepts ball in middle of second quarter against Navy. He got breaking news treatment for the big defensive plays he made. That's a whole nother world if people are like 18 years old and you don't really remember 2012 all that much. The Manti Teo Heisman wave was real.
Colin Coward
Was very real.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Now, there were some things that weren't real, but the wave was real.
Josh Pate
The wave was real. Wave was real.
Colin Coward
The feelings we felt were real.
Josh Pate
Yeah, I'll always respect Bantai for that. Always.
Colin Coward
T's and peas, man. But that's how that's what it would come down to for Jacob. Because even statistically, that's the guy you compare him to for like this Heisman run. He averages more tackles per game. He has more takeaways right now. He has 10, three picks and seven force fumbles. If he continues to have those splash plays, maybe our boys getting the breaking news as this wave starts running out of time.
Josh Pate
But there's only A couple more weeks.
Colin Coward
That's all it takes. I mean, you see the push right now with Emmett Johnson.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, yeah, we sure do.
Colin Coward
You guys obviously see it with me. But I'm saying, like when you have a player like that who is ranking that well statistically across the country in every category, especially at a school who.
Josh Pate
Hasn'T had a player like that in a while.
Colin Coward
Right. The school, like everybody around is going to rally around to like put these names in front of you. Not because it's fake, because it's real, but to start getting you thinking because all we talk about are quarterbacks at every school for Heisman for anything. And we can't have a first all American, our first all American since like Levante David.
Josh Pate
That is crazy. It's been that long.
Colin Coward
Yeah. And even though it's the aim as Heisman, it's like, you know, what is, what's the saying? Shoot for the, shoot for the stars.
Josh Pate
Shoot for the million in the stars.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Or something like that.
Josh Pate
Yeah, yeah. One of the two.
Colin Coward
It's one of them. It's like that. You shoot for Heisman. You're laying in all these other conversations with some legitimate. You talk about Jeremiah Love. Emma Johnson's got him beat in a lot of categories. And when you talk about it's Jeremiah Love and, and Emma Johnson for percentage of total yards that they accumulate for for their offense. Emma Johnson's number one right now. Jordan Love is a monster, though.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. Can I say as we, as we start to dive in, I assume we're going to dive into the game.
Colin Coward
We're going to dive into the game.
Josh Pate
Eventually. We will.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Can I say one thing about Nebraska?
Josh Pate
Oh, we're not going to dive into the games.
Colin Coward
This will be only 25 minutes. We're on a bye week. I was going to. I was going to cool off.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You were going to.
Josh Pate
But you did bring up Emmett Johnson.
Colin Coward
I did. And then you brought up and talk right now.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, it doesn't matter. I'll get him in the conversation. Don't worry, by the way.
Josh Pate
Don't worry about that. Don't worry about that.
Colin Coward
Oh, I will push this.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I thought you guys did a great job with the sit down with Kay on the bus earlier this week.
Josh Pate
Oh, you watched.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I did watch it. I listened to it. I thought it was going to completely come off the rails when she asked how is Nebraska doing this year, I thought it was done. You're not going to get to the Giants or day boy. You're not going to get to NFL Network and her upbringing when she asked, how is Nebraska doing this year? I thought it was over. I was in the gym listening to it, and people around me heard. I just said, oh, no.
Josh Pate
Oh, no. Yeah, Nebraska. You talk about government shutdown, a filibuster going on. You want to keep that thing continuing. Just walk Will Compton into that room and say, Nebraska. You want to know about Nebraska? Let me tell you, we might be on a bye week this week. And then 72 hours later, they're like, I don't think he's breathed yet. I don't think he's inhaled yet.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, I bought his. Chuck Schumer. That's John Thune. Hey, how's Nebraska doing? Going to put you on speaker here. How's Nebraska doing?
Josh Pate
Speaker here.
Colin Coward
Great win against ucla.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Great win.
Colin Coward
Great win against ucla. TJ Lateef. We tried telling everybody.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Coming home, coming home.
Josh Pate
It's going to be crazy when there's a quarterback controversy in Nebraska.
Colin Coward
That's crazy.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
There's no way we were texting about that Saturday. There's no way.
Colin Coward
No way.
Josh Pate
Unless. Unless this keeps going.
Colin Coward
It's Dylan Raolo's football team as of right now.
Josh Pate
Right.
Colin Coward
I'll let you say that.
Josh Pate
No, you absolutely should not be the person at all to say. It has to come down to the absolute wire where, you know, people have called you. But, hey, it's going to be DJ Latif. And that's when you.
Colin Coward
Yeah, if I know it's a real thing, that's when.
Josh Pate
Right, but if.
Colin Coward
That's when I would talk about if.
Josh Pate
That continues, but right now, it's not even.
Colin Coward
It's not even close to a real thing. Not even close. It's Dylan Raila's football team.
Josh Pate
100%. Enjoy yourself.
Colin Coward
We got to keep Emmett Johnson in Nebraska is what we got to do.
Josh Pate
It might be going to.
Colin Coward
Yeah, yeah. Which, you know.
Josh Pate
Yeah. This is the reason why you guys watch these ads. Superior is worth playing for. Michelob Ultra Superior bragging rights. Right now, I am up 7 to 6 on Will Compton. Massive come from behind as we're now seeing in the middle of November. Will, are you ready?
Colin Coward
Let's do it. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.
Josh Pate
And Now I am 8 and 6 against Will Compton. Superior is worth.
Colin Coward
I did think we were tied. Yeah, put me on. No, I'm on ir.
Josh Pate
Injured player. That's. That's what happens when you play injured. By the way, Jack has crutches on right now during this commercial break. That's. That's bad. I'm just letting you know that's a bad omen.

But also, let's talk about number 13, Utah. They're at Baylor this weekend. Utah's favored minus eight and a half total points. That game is 60 and a half. I'll be quick. Utah onward.
Colin Coward
Yeah. Utah. Baylor. I do have another question for You, Josh?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yep.
Colin Coward
You threw a grenade last week with head coaching jobs.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Sure.
Colin Coward
You hearing anything with USC and Lincoln Riley?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Absolutely, I am. Hit me with the follow up.
Colin Coward
What are you hearing?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I cannot tell you because in no world do I want to put myself through what I went through last week. But I will look at you. I will say, yes, I'm hearing stuff. And that's what I'm hearing. That's what I'm hearing. But I would never say that on air.
Josh Pate
Hey, mouth that to me. Let's play telephone. I know it's going to be a full sentence. I just got caught up in his teeth for a minute. I didn't see. That's something that I can definitely wait till the end of the show to ask.
Colin Coward
You're injured right now. There's a lot of stuff happening. We'll wait till the end of the show.
Josh Pate
I'm playing injured right now is what I'm doing.
Colin Coward
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Another question. Arkansas.
Josh Pate
Arkansas.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I think they got to wait for Auburn to make their move. Maybe got to wait for LSU to make their move. I don't know when there was a.
Colin Coward
Gentleman that was saying they're pretty. I don't know what I was seeing it on, but there was somebody talking like they had their guy. They just. Out of respect, okay.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Whoever that guy is, respectfully to him, I'm not sure they're 100% in control of that. What I mean is the guy they end up landing may also be in the running for other jobs. And so the planes are all sitting on the tarmac and they're ready to find out in which order they're going to take off and one may cut the other one. So, like, Alex Goelish could be in the running for that job. Well, if Alex Goelish were to get an offer from Auburn, I think he'd probably take it over Arkansas. So if you're Arkansas and you want Alex Goelish, great. I think he'll do great anywhere he goes. Kind of gotta wait and hope Auburn hires John Sumrall or hires DJ Durkin or something like that. That's what I mean by that. Now, luckily, Auburn's got their ducks in a row, and so I think their search is going to move pretty fast. But I think Arkansas does not totally hold their hiring fate in their own hands, if that makes sense.
Josh Pate
Yeah, they have to wait. They know what they say in the totem pole. And I'll tell you this about Utah, man, is the reason why I picked Utah is they're kind of on the outside looking in like Texas Tech, Baylor, Cincinnati are right there and those teams have to play each other and probably out of the conference championship. But they're kind of sitting at two loss. I think slowly but surely they're going to ink themselves in to one of those last spots of the playoff. And they understand that going to Baylor. And I think they take advantage of that. And I think they take advantage of that in a big way because for them to sit in a position, for them to bump themselves into that 12, 11, 10 category in the playoff, they've got a win. They've also got to cover. If you look at me and say, hey, the committee doesn't look at the lines and say, did they or did they not? That's crazy.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Look at what they did in Miami.
Josh Pate
Right. They bumped up.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They bumped up for what? They just corrected them. They heard the criticism and they corrected them. And speaking of Miami, I like Utah this week, too.
Josh Pate
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm going to tell you why.
Josh Pate
Tell me.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I think in November, if you struggle to stop the run kinda in October, you really let the floodgates open in November. Now, full disclosure. The model likes Baylor this week, but the model doesn't know it's just a computer. It's stupid. It doesn't know what I'm saying.
Josh Pate
It knows what you tell it to know.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. It doesn't like tapping out is not a data point for the model. But I think Baylor's run defense may do that this week. And if they do, there's no limit to the amount of assault that Utah can lay on them. So eight and a half, I think is a trap number because it wants the computer model crowd to take Baylor and the points.
Josh Pate
Right.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
But I am not doing that.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Wants the nerds to take Baylor.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
But actually what you need to do in this game is you need to go like that. You need to pull the glasses down.
Will Compton
Yeah.
Josh Pate
And just see the world for what it is or how your body wants to see it, which is a little more fuzzy. A little more fuzzy is clearly Utah minus eight and a half. Will.
Colin Coward
Yeah. What about James Franklin?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I think James needed to make a move on Virginia Tech if he was going to make a move. I think Virginia Tech's just sitting there saying, james, we want you. And James Franklin's kind of saying, I could see it. And then they say, no, James, we really want you. Here's the piece of paper. And he's saying, I'll think about it. And then Virginia Tech says, hey, we kind of got to make a move here. We'd love to have you. And James is like, give me the details again. And Virginia Tech may just be like, yeah, never mind.
Josh Pate
Yeah. And on the note of James Franklin, I love how like the quarterbacks been playing for Utah. I love how their defense has been playing. I just think that sitting in that position, it's not like Pitts head coach, like every game is worth fighting for.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Oh, it's a must win.
Josh Pate
It's a must win. Everything's a must win at this point in the year. For a school that takes himself seriously.
Colin Coward
Will, are you hearing anything about Eli Drinkwitz and Penn State?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, I'm not sure that he meshes with them. I'm not sure that Eli Drinkwitz the Persona meshes with Penn State, the program. So I'd be very surprised if Eli Drinkwitz got that job. What I wouldn't be surprised by is, is Utah kind of wins emphatically this week and knocks Baylor from the equation entirely. And then afterwards people are running the tiebreaker scenario math in their head and they're like, wait, we know Utah could get an at large. But what if, just humor me here, what if Cincinnati beats Brigham Young, hands them their second loss and then you realize, oh, Utah's got the head to head win over Cincinnati. Oh wait, could they make it to Dallas, oh wait, could it be Utah vs Texas Tech where the model would be really put on the stand because the model is the only computer model out there that has Utah power rated above Texas Tech. Texas Tech would be favored at FanDuel. I fully acknowledge that the model would pick Utah and I'd have to sit here, Mr. 2 and 3, Mr. 23 here. And I would have to pick Utah.
Josh Pate
You would be. So hypothetically speaking, all those dominance fall, we're sitting here on a championship weekend and you're going to take Utah over Texas Tech.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Either that or I'm going to buck the model which has returned me 2 and 3 results all year. So maybe I will, maybe I won't. Kind of like James Franklin right now, will he? Won't he? I don't know.
Colin Coward
Humor me about Lane Kiffin and Jackson Dart with the New York Giants.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, you know what I have to.
Colin Coward
Say to that is he's now coaching for the Giants.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
What conference are the New York Giants in? And don't, don't give me the NFC East. You know what I'm asking you. I stop at midnight on Saturday unless Hawaii is playing. The football for that week is done for me Saturday at midnight and I just start watching replays. So y' all are sitting over here on Sundays and you're watching. God knows what happens on Sundays in the NFL, but I don't know. The New York Giants job is not even open to me. It doesn't exist. If Lane Kiffin goes to the NFL, it's a great person, but he's dead to me. He doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned. Never heard of her. I don't know.
Colin Coward
Yeah, everybody's talking about New York Giants that had job. Not enough people talk about Kent State.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Another big win last night.
Colin Coward
Yeah, they call him. They call him Kansas State.
Josh Pate
Who are you taking? Just real quick, so everybody knows.
Colin Coward
Oh, Utah, Baylor. I'm taking the over. I'm taking the over here. The overset. Sixteen and a half points. Both these teams. I want to say Baylor averages like 33. Utah averages 36. They both average like north of 450 yards. Sawyer, Roberto, he's got about 3,000 yards, 27 touchdowns. Defense sucks. I'm sure. I know Utah's defense is good, but again, you're down in Baylor. ESPN 2. Don't worry about watching the game. This is over 60 and a half. I love points in this game.
Josh Pate
All right, I like that. How does the model feel about that? Does the model even deal with totals?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Hey, we hit that Oregon, Iowa last week. We were proud of that. Yeah, Oregon, Iowa under 42 and a half. Someone actually bet the over at the last minute. Gave me an extra point of value. It's like It's Iowa. It's 37 degrees, it's pouring rain. Dan Landing's wearing a cotton hoodie. There's no way this game's going over. And it didn't.
Josh Pate
And it didn't.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
No opinion on this one, though.
Josh Pate
While we're on the subject of Iowa, Iowa is traveling to Los Angeles this weekend. Number 21 Iowa versus number 17, USC. Iowa Dogs USC favored minus six and a half. Total points in that game is 49 and a half.
Colin Coward
Will USC is going to hang 40 on them.
Josh Pate
Okay, that's a little crazy.
Colin Coward
USC is going to hang 40 on these boys. I did my best to root for Iowa these past like. Well, not last week. The pat, the. The weeks prior to that. Getting them in the top 25, trying to get them ranked. But they just remind you that they're just going to be this 4, 5 loss, sometimes 3 loss football team at all times. It's automatic.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Still ranked, though.
Josh Pate
Consist.
Colin Coward
Still ranked. Yes, they're consistent, but there's no 2.
Josh Pate
And 3 Iowa loses.
Colin Coward
As an Iowa fan, there's no hope. Like there's no we're building, there's no we're growing. There's no, you know, expectations or excitement to come to come around like Kirk France, he's going to be there until he dies. They're going to continue to be there's this above average football team and they're going to go out to USC this weekend out on out in la. I know there's going to be a little bit of rain, but there's not going to be a whole lot of wind, maybe 10 miles an hour gusts. And USC is in absolute playoff mode. Their big one's going to be Oregon. But again, after coming off the performance they had against Northwestern, the reminder, Nebraska a couple weeks ago, Nebraska is going to be the only team that holds this team, this offense under 30 points on the season. This is going to be USC. What is it?
Josh Pate
Jaden Mava, Jordan Myallotta.
Colin Coward
Jaden, yes. Yeah. Jordan Mailata. Jordan Mailata.
Josh Pate
I think he's Australian.
Colin Coward
Is it Jaden Mayava?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
But this week could be Jordan Bialata.
Colin Coward
Could be Jordan. Jaden Bialata. 40, 40 plus.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, plus.
Josh Pate
And after he does, he's a little egregious.
Colin Coward
It's a little much, but that's what's going to happen.
Josh Pate
Yeah, Iowa has a way especially the weather's following them like a cloud. Like Iowa travels to LA and all of a sudden it's sunny. But now it's going to be a rain.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
That's like Pigpen. The cloud just follows him wherever he goes.
Josh Pate
Exactly. You said something on your show, obviously your breakdowns in college football are incredible. And you being a weather guy, you said monsoon season in California.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Crazy.
Josh Pate
All of a sudden this week, monsoon season in California.
Colin Coward
USC is covering this game.
Josh Pate
Oh, you got something?
Colin Coward
USC's covering this game.
Josh Pate
Monsoon season is like June to October. And it really just affects the southwest region of the country, which is Arizona and New Mexico.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Let me ask you this. I had is it winter right now?
Josh Pate
No.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Sure did get a lot of snow in Nashville the other day.
Josh Pate
Lot of snow.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Things are crazy.
Josh Pate
A lot of snow are a couple flakes that melted touch the ground in Arizona.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm from rural Georgia.
Josh Pate
There's a lot of snow and I'm from the West.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
We didn't have a single land falling hurricane in a contiguous United States this year. Weather's been crazy this year. You know that. I know that. He knows that. I have in my hand. Mr. No monsoon season. The official Friday and Saturday forecast for the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum Friday Trying to paint the field. Heavy rain, heavy rain Saturday, heavy rain. The only difference between this game and the one I will play last week is bump it up about 20 degrees, upper 50s instead of upper 30s. But you're right, the weather's following them around now. You would think to yourself, history would indicate this favors Iowa because I was just ground and pound. USC is all flash, no substance. We remember what USC did to Michigan.
Josh Pate
I knew you were going to bring that up.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Ran it for 224.
Josh Pate
They did.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They ran it for 202 against Nebraska. They ran it not as great against Notre Dame, but Notre Dame's. Notre Dame's different caliber team than Iowa is. I just think Iowa needs to play the game they played last week with two minor corrections. They need to be a little bit better on third down. They were five of 13 last week. And don't lose the turnover battle. They were minus one last week. If they can do those things, great. I think the style of game actually favors USC more than America's gonna realize. Like, people are gonna see heavy rain, they're gonna say, this is Taylor made for Iowa and Lincoln Riley's gonna look at it and USC is gonna look at it and say, no. Actually, we're fully comfortable running the ball now. We may not score 40. Game may not be long enough for us to score 40. But I don't even need Mayava to have a huge day. I need him to have a good enough day. Anything above and beyond, that's a bonus. The model disagrees with me again. Real, real infighting between me and the model this weekend.
Josh Pate
Yeah, it sounds as a house divided.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm taking USC to winning cover.
Josh Pate
I agree with that. Are you familiar with Rum Springer? Do you know what that is? It's in the Amish community. These people, they live the Amish life, right? No technology, no Internet, none of that stuff. By the age, about like 16 years old, the Amish youth is allowed to go out into the world and live the way for what most like most normal people live their life. They can use phones, they can drink, they can try different things, they can go watch movie. They can utilize the advances in technology that we've all come to know and love. But the Amish does not. Then they have to make a decision within like three months to like two years of what they're going to do. But when they go through rum storing, it's like a kid going to college for the first time, freaking out. That's what this is for Iowa. I looked at the roster. There are Less than five people from the West. It's full of people from Missouri, people from Illinois, people from Iowa, Nebraska, Grand Rapids, Michigan, South Dakota. These are just corn fed boys who talk with a wheat straw in their mouth the whole time. And they're going to fly to the west coast. Those lights are going to be exciting. It's me. The first time in their life other than a movie or a TV show that they've seen this. They're going to be distracted, discombobulated. Weather or no weather, Iowa is going to get their ass beat against USC this weekend. USC is a much different football team at home than they are away. Much different football team. And I had to witness that firsthand. You, I mean, I, you and I were texting. I was, you know, I was what they call the hotline during that game because they were doing things to Michigan that Michigan does to people. And I see that absolutely happening against Iowa. I don't see him putting 40 up on them. Like an ass beating for Iowa.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
10 points, 27 to 9.
Josh Pate
Yeah, yeah.
Colin Coward
If they'll hit 30, they'll hit 30.
Josh Pate
30, yeah, they'll hit 30. But yeah, rum Springer, they'll look that up.
Colin Coward
And was it Jaden Bilater, Jaden Bailado? Throw Benjamin on him after the game's over and tell him to go buy a Casey's pizza and a tank of gas when they get back to Iowa because that's all I was. Got Casey's and it is good.
Josh Pate
Almost went to Iowa. Will Compton.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
There's a lot of we in the breakdown. There's a lot of we. We are nothing more than average. We do this to ourselves every year. Yeah, I didn't push back because I don't disagree.
Josh Pate
Gotta love that Iowa makes teams be like, play like their style of football though.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, but then they made Oregon last week and Oregon still beat them.
Josh Pate
Yeah, no, but I feel like with Iowa it's not about wins and losses.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It's more about a bio.
Josh Pate
Can we just allow our identity to bleed into this game and ruin it for all the viewers?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Right.
Josh Pate
Like that's what they want. How do we get the least amount.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Of viewership if we can make people miserable at home? We will have done our job.
Josh Pate
Like I think, I think Iowa, they put up graphics in their team and be like, you see like Texas and Ohio state, they got 17 million people.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Watching this, don't like it.
Josh Pate
We got less than a million boys. All right. And it went down the farther you got into the game. They take pride in that. Like, how can we have this, the lowest scoring game possible. How do we compare this to soccer?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
As much as possible.
Josh Pate
That's Iowa.
Colin Coward
And who's gonna cover Lemon? Iowa doesn't have a white cornerback out there this year.
Josh Pate
That is true. But also heavy rain monsoon that doesn't exist in California. Yeah.
Colin Coward

Right now, Notre Dame is favored by 11 and a half. The over under on this game is 55 and a half. You guys saw Pitt's head coach.
Josh Pate
This is disgusting to me. I saw that clip. Stop, study. Obviously, Jeremiah loves a stud. C.J. carr has come along a long way, but Pat Narduzzi, that's his name for him, is not a must win game. I'd rather lose this game by 110 to 10, which is, by the way, 103. 10 is like what they've been outscored in the last three times they played.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Wow.
Josh Pate
So he's very aware of that point differential. And I just think you say that sends a horrible message to your team.
Colin Coward
Yeah, because it's like, you know, the boys like players. You love to be out there. Like, you know, it's don't give Baltimore material. You love to talk shit. Like, you love to do that. You just don't do it.
Josh Pate
You know, you're the inferior team. However, it's like, what kind of culture are you?
Colin Coward
But I'm just saying players are suppressed. Because as much as we would love to go out there, chirp a little bit, have a little fun, you know, it's not in the best interest, like for your football team because there's more people involved. So you just have to sit back and almost just hear the clippings that your. Your head coach might say. But just to hear that, if you're one of the boys sitting at the lunch table, it's just like, coach doesn't believe this is a muscle. Yeah, they're, you know, they're saying something different in the room, but still publicly. I don't know. I wasn't, I wasn't a big fan. Like, what was your takeaway?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I just think about being in the locker room at the half and it's 20 to 7 Notre Dame. You look around and you say, what are you supposed to tell those guys at halftime?
Josh Pate
Yeah.
Colin Coward
Coach kind of said, this game doesn't matter.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It is what it is. You know, we tried.
Josh Pate
Right.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Grass stain here and there. We tried. It's okay. We got acc play coming up, though. That's definitely according to the committee. What's going to get you in the playoff? Because the ACC has such a sterling reputation right now, it doesn't matter if you lose your out of conference games. Now the committee chair is on TV last night saying, yeah, this conference kind of has no out of conference games to hang its hat on other than Miami. Notre Dame, ignore all that. Lose, lose by 100 if you want to. It's okay as long as we get a good solid win against Georgia Tech. That's enough wind in our sails. It's not. It's not. Notre Dame's going to win this game and cover. Now, I will say this. I don't think people know Pitt. I don't think people have really watched Pitt. I think people think classic pit game ground like Iowa ground and pound ball control, condense the game. That's not them. Heintschel is the quarterback that came in for Eli Holston. He's a true freshman. He's thrown for 300 in four of his last five games. Notre Dame is 15th against the run, 89th against the pass. So, like, theoretically, if you're going to get Notre Dame, that's how you get them. You get them through the air. Notre Dame fans would vehemently argue, yeah, but our defense is on now. Like, we found ourselves, we found our stride. We're on now. And there's probably a germ of truth to that. I just think, like, there's some point where you kind of wad up the paper like, Pitt's got the number three run defense in the country. Do I really think they're going to shut down Notre Dame on the ground? I don't. Nor do they have to, according to Pat Narduzzi. You'd like to, but you don't have to. It is what it is. I just think it's one of those reminder, we're Notre Dame, your Pitt, like one of those kinds of games. And it's not a comfortable blowout win, but, like, it's a nice solid win for Notre Dame. They cover in the end and you move on and, you know, they stay on track to either be the nine seed or the eight seed. Like, the biggest question with Notre Dame down the stretch is, do they get a home playoff game or do they have to go on the road for a playoff game? Which is going to be a huge difference, by the way, because if you noticed, I think on the playoff committee reveal show last night they did the hypothetical bracket and it was like Notre Dame at Oregon So imagine the difference in them having to go to Eugene versus them hosting someone in South Bend like they did last year. So that's not a small deal, but I do think they're gonna like. This is not where they get derailed. There's no way. Well, there's little way they get derailed.
Colin Coward
Have you checked the against the spread numbers with Pitt since Narduzzi's been there?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I haven't.
Colin Coward
You.
Josh Pate
I have not. Oh, can I use it?
Colin Coward
Pitt as a home underdog, 12 and 10. I get to spread 12 and 10 against the spread against ranked opponents 16 and 16 as the home team against the spread 34 and 36.
Josh Pate
Delaney Walker here.
Colin Coward
What's Notre Dame? Minus 11 and a half.
Josh Pate
You just. Delaney Walker.
Colin Coward
Me, I just read you those numbers.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Did those not blow your mind that you did. You did do that. You did read those numbers. I have little to no idea what they really meant. But you read those numbers.
Colin Coward
You read them with conviction.
Josh Pate
Home dogs against the spread. 0 and 57 or something like that. And you're like giving me like borderline 500 numbers.
Colin Coward
What you're not seeing, what you boys aren't seeing, are the numbers within the numbers. The game within the game.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I knew it.
Josh Pate
He's so right.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Josh Pate
And you know what? Regardless of whether we saw the number or not, we all landed in the same place.
Colin Coward
Somebody out there right now, they're going to comment and be like, I know what Willie C. Was saying.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Right.
Josh Pate
I bet they will.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, I get. I get where he was going.
Colin Coward
I see. I see. Yeah, he sees the field wealth.
Josh Pate
Yeah. He's absolutely seen the field coming out in numbers. Literally, it looked like 25 and 32. That's like. That was Pitt. Dog at home. Your stat, like this year is the standing is Pitt.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
So.
Josh Pate
Yeah, you're seeing it. You are Pitt.
Colin Coward
Don't you worry. We'll see. We'll see who's laughing next week on here.
Josh Pate
We literally all have the same picks right now.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Josh Pate
So we literally were all laughing and crying together. There's no difference.
Colin Coward
I took over in Baylor, Utah.
Josh Pate
I think it's a good pick, but I like Utah.
Colin Coward
Watch, watch Baylor cover. Just like a late. Just like a late cover.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, that'd be great.38, 37.
Josh Pate
I'm kind of sick. You guys kind of talked me into Oregon, Iowa last week because I was very iffy on the fence about that game. Obviously, I make my own decisions, but I was sitting there.
Colin Coward
We had it right up there for you.
Josh Pate
I know your heart, logic, but I Was clearly sitting in that. The 50. 50. I'm straddling the fence. My, my nuts are still split in half just being like, which way of this fence do I want to go? And obviously you had a boy with words. You start talking about the duck reproductive system or how they even have. I'm like, yeah, that's like, not only like true, but it's also like a tip of the cap to OG Bus. And what other way could I have gone?
Colin Coward
Yeah, you know you'd rather lose the way you did.
Josh Pate
Yes. Yes. Yes.
Colin Coward
Yeah. Oklahoma at Alabama. The spread on this game. Alabama favored by five and a half at home. The over under on this game. 46 and a half. Gentlemen. Yep. Who would like to kick this thing off?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm very confident here.
Josh Pate
I know. I watched your prediction thing. I had my decision before your show last night and we aligned in the same place. I think this game, if it, if it's going to go Oklahoma's way. John Matiere has to have an out of body experience and he's got to play much better. He has to play essentially how he did in the first four weeks of the season.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. His thumb has been your foot lately.
Josh Pate
Yes.
Colin Coward
Right.
Josh Pate
He just wants to know what it's like to throw a tight spiral again. Just like I want to know what it's like to walk pain free. And unfortunately that's not happening this week. Like Alabama, they're pretty unbelievable. And they're great. They're great against the pass. There was. You had the stat again of the run versus the run defense. It doesn't, it doesn't really matter because of how Alabama's offense rolls. At the end of the day, it's. This is Caitlin DeBoer. This is the black sweatshirt. This is, this is covering. This is Alabama covering them. Taking that next step.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yep.
Josh Pate
Like, teams like this who have been this position, regardless of who's at the helm of the head coach, like, they understand what's at stake here. And for that reason, I got Alabama.
Colin Coward
I don't know if I like hearing him say that. Alabama's unbelievable.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They're just pretty good, aren't they?
Colin Coward
I mean, look at South Carolina. Like, yeah, they, they won what, 20 to nine? Like, or got the. They covered at the very end against lsu. But they didn't look like they should have looked the last couple weeks with South Carolina and lsu. Like, to me, it's like they're not playing unbelievable right now. To me, this is a. They better, they better wake their ass up because they're getting in gear. It's like when you look at their schedule, they beat Georgia. Look at this run right now. Georgia, Vandy, Mizzou, Tennessee. Then they've kind of had some moments against South Carolina. How badly you lose to Alabama, One score against South Carolina.
Josh Pate
Disney World during that taking place. And I actually took South Carolina that week. Yeah, you did. We were so close to looking like geniuses, J.P. that's why this week, A.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
And M famously not on the card.
Colin Coward
And even again against lsu, they're not looking the way that they should. Like Ty Simpson, you know, I love some Ty Simpson, but misses on a couple deep balls just by a little bit. Like he still, like, he only has how many interceptions, One interception on the year. He takes care of the football. Well, I got Alabama here, but this is an. Alabama better wake their ass up. This is everybody, look, everybody's tired, everybody's hurt. There's no time to bitch and moan. It's time to get rolling. And you got to do it this weekend against Oklahoma because I got them. I do have them winning and covering. But the whole Alabama looking unbelievable. Alabama being this national title run, like they need to start showing us now at the end of the year because they've had a couple shaky games against inferior opponents. No disrespect to the Gamecocks, J.P. but that's. That's my whole thing. I know they've had a. I know they've had a long stretch. They need to close it out against Oklahoma, who took down Tennessee, who's still in the conversation? Who's going to be hungry? Who's going to try and get back in and take what's yours? Alabama's got to wake up this game.
Josh Pate
Let's look at the dominoes, the storyline that's taking place when it comes to Alabama. The first, the first game of the year, they play against Florida State, they dropped that game. Everybody's like, this team is dead. The competition takes place on the bus about guys are getting uber eats at 2 in the morning, girls are maybe flying around. Guys are not disciplined. You give a mouse cookie, ask for a glass of milk. Because they're going from Nick Saban, who if your shoes are tied incorrectly, he's yelling at you versus killing DeBoer, who's a little more lax. Let the players be players. They wrote that ship. Who had the longest home streak in college football?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Georgia.
Josh Pate
Georgia did. Who broke that?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Alabama.
Josh Pate
Alabama. So although they weren't great against inferior opponents, no disrespect to JP they have shown in times when the adversity Strikes. They have been able to right that ship. That, to me, is unbelievable. We're going from a Florida State situation to where they're at now, seeing number four in the country, not only in the AP poll, but also in the college football bracket. That is unbelievable. There are weapons they have on the outside, even though Ron Williams had a couple drops this year. Unbelievable. Ty Simpson, who no one even really knew of until this season started. That's unbelievable. The way he's throwing the ball, taking care of it. One interception. That's incredible. The run game, not so great. But they don't want to do that anyway. They have the weapons on the outside. So, all that being said, Alabama to cover. Did you take Alabama or Oklahoma?
Colin Coward
I'm taking Alabama. I'm just saying, if me and you were in the Alabama locker room and you were like, hey, we've played pretty unbelievable this season. To me, this is Cooper Comstock saying, we're going to beat Northwestern. The game that happened with Nebraska, Northwestern is like, no, no, no, no. We need to wake the fuck up, right? And the way these games have been a little too close for comfort. We need to wake the fuck up and play our best ball against Oklahoma.
Josh Pate
The big win against that is you dropped one in week one and had to learn that lesson. You've been able to keep up games when there's obviously going to be a lull later this year against inferior opponents. Now you're playing. It's an Oklahoma team who, you know, Brett Venables defense. Everyone's always hooting and hollering about them. They bring up the run defense and Alabama's like, yeah, it's a great stat, but it's not necessarily what we're. What we're interested in. I think I am very impressed with Calen DeBoer this year. Extremely impressive how he's handled the culture. Me sitting back saying, unbelievable. It's like, I'm a. I'm a. I'm a guy with. I can't walk on a tv, on a show right now. Yeah. I'm not sitting in the locker room instilling a culture. If I am in the locker room.
Colin Coward
We'Re in the locker room.
Josh Pate
That is 100% the conversation you're having with those players. However, I see this going Alabama's way, big time.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Could I say when you just sat there and said, we're in the locker room, that touched me a little bit. I felt that you did not crack a smile. You shouldn't. You're serious. Do we think Alabama is a national championship contender? Yes or no? Start here.
Colin Coward
Yes.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Okay. I picked them to win it all. So, like, clearly we got three yeses. If we're right, what you're saying is accurate. This is where you got to start revving the engine. Like you're running out of weeks to rev the engine. Now, I'm not counting on them to find a running game. I think they're a flawed team. I think everyone may have flaws. So a flawed team is going to win it all. Alabama's been really good at overcoming their flaws. Like, to me, the biggest compliment you can give Ty Simpson is all these other quarterbacks are doing it. Like Julian Saying knows he's got a ground game. Fernando Mendoza knows he's got a ground game. Ty Simpson has no ground game. And he's still only throwing the ball to the other team once. And they're still able to scale their offense every week. Last week against LSU was really interesting because if you watch the game, yeah, they win, they cover. They're coming out of a buy. You hope it's. And instead it's like missed explosive plays by inches here and there. That was like a 40 to 9 game masked as a 20 to 9 game. Doesn't matter if you keep tripping over yourself. My thinking on this game is this is the week where they actually find those explosive plays in Oklahoma's defense. Two different compartments here run D. Totally legit. It's a funny way this game works because when you see strength matching up with weakness, you think, big edge to the team with the strength, it actually works the opposite. Some ways I would feel less comfortable about Alabama if more of their offense was predicated on the run this week. Like if they had run the ball a little more successfully this year, I'd be more worried about Oklahoma because Oklahoma stands a good chance of taking something away from Alabama that Alabama uses. Alabama doesn't have rushing yards anyway. Like, they don't run the ball effectively anyway. Lesser defenses have taken their run game away. The question is, can you stop them through the air? Because they're totally comfortable throwing the ball when they don't have an effective ground game to lean on. There were two teams this year that are roughly the caliber of what Alabama can put on you. In the passing game that OU faced and it was Ole Miss and it was Tennessee and one of them threw for 315 and the other one threw for 393. I think the barely missed explosive passes you saw Alabama suffer from last week are hit this week. I think you see minimal crowbar effect from OU's ability to stop the run because Bama doesn't really need to run the ball anyway. I think the fact that Oklahoma's in the 1 teens in turnover margin in Bama's top 10 really matters when you're getting them in your building. Bama's 117 straight at home. This is the time where they got to rev the engine and unless I get a superhero performance from John Mateer which post injury we have not gotten and I'm not going to assume that we get it now, I think Alabama is going to win cover and it's a double digit victory for Calen DeBoer. And finally this Saturday you're looking and you're saying okay, now they're locked in. Now they're ready for a stretch run.
Colin Coward
Well said. And Aguilar, it's like you're talking about turnovers as well against these high power offenses and great quarterbacks. Aguilar's throwing about eight to the other team. Ty Simpson does a very good job of protecting the ball. It's like if Oklahoma's gonna find ways it's gonna be through turnovers and everything like that. And I do Ty Simpson, go be a fucking wolf brother. This is a big game. I'm excited. I'm excited to watch Alabama play True Classic game of the week.
Josh Pate
Hold on, are we all aligned other than your over pick on Utah?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
We are.
Colin Coward
We are.
Josh Pate
This is not separation Sunday.
Colin Coward
Not separation. No separation Saturday.
Josh Pate
Yeah, go ahead. I forgot Sunday doesn't exist in your world.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
The difference is Sunday's for church. Yeah, the Baylor, the Baylor over is going to be the difference this week. Yeah, that's what's going to end up separating.
Josh Pate

Game of the Week Every Saturday's got games, but only one fits just right. This is True Classics Game of the week. We got Texas, Georgia Sark versus Kirby Smart Arch versus Gunner Stockton. Generational talents getting after it. Georgia's favorite in this game by five and a half. The over under on this game is 48 and a half.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Texas. Texas is 11 and three since joining the SEC. It's a great record. Two of the three losses were to Georgia. They were both last year. They had a combined 60 rushing yards in those two games. So physically Texas should never.
Josh Pate
What was.
Will Compton
That man you good?
Colin Coward
I'm just making a quick transition.
Josh Pate
Yeah, but transition like. Like an adult. You just basically spit on the ground.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It was. It was. Honey, honey, give me your gum.
Josh Pate
Like, I did the same thing 15 minutes ago, and I just. Listen.
Colin Coward
I thought nobody was gonna see me. Don't know why I was gonna see.
Josh Pate
Did you see it? I'm just saying that was the most.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Wild for something to be intended for no one to see. It was really theatrical.
Josh Pate
It was really performing everything.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
The mouth came wide open.
Josh Pate
What are you doing with it now? Don't put it in your pocket.
Colin Coward
I do it all the time.
Josh Pate
Just in the pocket.
Colin Coward
I do it all the time.
Josh Pate
I do it all the time.
Colin Coward
My apologies.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Oh, you're good.
Josh Pate
Sark lost three games. Two of them came from Georgia.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
60 combined rushing yards against Georgia last year. So let me ask you this. I got a lot of respect for Steve Sarkeesian and his staff. Is it unfair to say that until further notice, I don't think you can match Georgia physically? Is it unfair that until further notice, I say, they're going to out staff you. They're going to out coach you. You haven't earned the right for me to say anything otherwise. Right? So Sark watches the show. We all know that at some point you got to look at him and say, guys, top to bottom. Everyone in that building, that's big brother, you got to go to big brother's house, he's moved out. You're still with the parents at home. You got to go over there, and you got to handle business in his house. You had two shots last year, one in your building, one in a neutral venue, although it is in Atlanta, and you didn't get the job done. So you've been given a window here. You already lost two games, but the playoff committee is still saying they're like they're hanging the dollar bill right over you, and are you going to swipe at it and they jerk it, or are you going to be quick enough to grab the dollar bill? It's tough for me to say. Yes. I will say this, though. Imagine in July, not knowing anything about the upcoming season. If I were to say, hey, come November, I've seen the future, the Georgia Texas game is going to come down to quarterback play. Who would you have liked in July, Gunnar Stockton or Arch Manning?
Colin Coward
Arch Manning.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I think the game comes down to quarterback play this Saturday. Who do we like in that scenario? Arch Manning. Gunner. Stockton.
Josh Pate
Gunner. Stockton.
Colin Coward
Arch Manning.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Is it because Georgia cannot get after the quarterback and Texas can?
Josh Pate
Yes.
Colin Coward
Not necessarily. Because Texas can like they, they are, they play. They've been inconsistent at times defensively, but they do have a very good defense that will be challenged by a good Georgia offense and Kirby Smart. They'll be prepared and ready to go. It's, it's, I believe more in Arch Manning right now because you look at his last two games, he's through for like 376 touchdowns. And again, Georgia can't get after the passer that well. So an O line that has seen, hey, we should be superior against everybody this year. We haven't necessarily seen that from this Texas O line, but just having that mindset of going in, this team can't rush the passer very well. I want to say confidence level is going to be higher. They're going to protect him long enough to where Texas is scoring points the way we've seen them do over the last few, over the last few weeks. That's why I like Texas in this game. I don't know if they're going to win the game, but I do like, I do like them keeping it close, covering and Arch Manning having an unbelievable game.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
CJ Vogel put this stat out. I cannot take credit for it, but he discovered that Gunner Stockton and Arch Manning are number one and number two in the SEC in pass attempts behind the line of scrimmage. Makes sense. Both programs recruit superior athletes. They trust them to get the ball in space and make yards after catch happen. Because of that reason, I think tackles, missed tackles and yards after catch are two of the most important stats in this game. But Texas, think about them on the road this year. They went to Ohio State. They lost. They went to Florida. They lost. They went to Kentucky and barely got out of there with a win. They had to come from behind in shocking fashion to beat Mississippi State. They beat ou, but that was in Dallas. That's a neutral field. Eventually you got to get the job done on the road. It's a huge pride and performance moment for Texas. There's something in the back of my mind that keeps saying what you just said. And that is maybe what you thought Arch was going to be in September. Maybe he is. It's just kind of clicking late, right? And they've given, they've been given the second life. There's like fresh air in their lungs. They're coming off a bye. Georgia's play two games in a row. Maybe they go in there and they're able to press them. We're getting six and a half right with Texas. I actually took the points and I Trust Kirby Smart implicitly, but I think it's a really compacted game. Georgia's played a ton of close games this year. Tennessee game was close. Ole Miss game was one possession. Florida was one possession. The Auburn game feels closer than any of those. Even though it was a 10 point game. Their blowout was last week. Georgia. Georgia handled Mississippi State. I don't know physically that you're going to handle Texas. I just don't think you're going to. I said this last year, I don't think you're going to run the ball in Texas like that. So I'm going to take Texas plus the points.
Josh Pate
Josh, the line has moved to five and a half.
Additional Voice / Ad Voice
Are you still fine with that?
Colin Coward
The lines move to five and a half. That's breaking.
Josh Pate
Is that on? It's not on the card. Five and a half. It is on five.
Colin Coward
It is on five and a half. Okay, just making sure that's on me because last night when I was hitting the notes, I have the spread next to the.
Josh Pate
I always think in Georgia at six and a half, I'm going to take them at five and a half.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'll take Texas at five and a half.
Colin Coward
I'll take Texas as well.
Josh Pate
I think we, we talk about Kirby Smart in November.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yep.
Josh Pate
And we talked about last week about Mississippi State. They're going to make it a game and it was just exactly what Georgia does. They just know how to beat teams. Gunnar Stockton knows how to morph into whatever Kirby Smart needs him to be for that game to be successful. And it is like I respect Sark as a coach. I think he's a great coach. I think if you're just looking at what both coaches have done, like one team is still figuring out their identity. There's a lot of hope and optimism because of the way Arch Manning has played so far. But it's like still the Georgia Bulldogs Gunner Stockton has been exactly what they need him to be. They got what, three running backs who are all could be starters anywhere else in college football and they play similar games and I just think I'm going to take the more proven product over one that, you know, we get out of this game and Texas beats Georgia or keeps it close. It's like, okay, Texas, I'm really excited to keep watching them. Obviously their season is probably over now.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I don't know about that.
Josh Pate
We'll get to that in a second. I'll just finish. The season is probably over now. But like the Arch Manning conversation, he's down on his luck. He's Turned around. Is he injured? Is he not injured now he's throwing the way he is like that. That would be very exciting for me to like, like, appreciate and love. But Sark losing two of his three games to Georgia, this being at home for Georgia and then having the longest, you know, home win streak until Alabama broke there earlier this year. Like, they've struggled on the road. Kirby Smart November football. Georgia Bulldogs.
Colin Coward
Right. But defensively, they just don't get after the.
Josh Pate
I don't disagree.
Colin Coward
Knowing that Arch will have a cleaner pocket is where is where that hope.
Josh Pate
And optimism because Texas can get after.
Colin Coward
The quarterback because, you know, what would you say? It's like, Marcel Reed, he's been. He's been kind of getting into some Heisman conversations, right?
Josh Pate
Someone bet him earlier this week.
Colin Coward
Yeah. Texas A and M is undefeated. He's the quarterback of that team. Arch Manning, statistically is very similar to Marcel Reed, but he's had so many, you know, he's had those lapses earlier in the year. Yeah, yeah. Their stats are.
Josh Pate
Their stats are similar mobility wise.
Colin Coward
Arch has got, like, I want to say, over 200 on the ground. Marcel's what? Over 300 on the ground.
Josh Pate
You know, Marcel's got more of, like, he. I just think he's got a little more twitch, a little more wiggle than Arch does as far as, like, getting away and stuff like that, like being able to extend. Arch is very athletic. Even with the last name Manning. I think Reed, like, he's.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
What a sentence.
Josh Pate
I mean, right.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah. You're not wrong.
Josh Pate
At the end of the day, it's like, let's go with the proof. Let's. Let's not overthink this. Like, I'm excited about Texas and what they've been able to do at this point, but Georgia is Georgia, and it's November when Georgia plays their best football. Said it last week. I'll say it again.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Fall don't lie. Tour is in the building for this game.
Josh Pate
Wow.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
That's the first thing. The second thing. Let's just rewind a second. You said Texas loses this game and their season's probably done, but do we really think that they're ranked, I think, 10th right now in the playoffs?
Josh Pate
They'd be nine and three. Correct.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It would be. It would be if. If there's enough.
Josh Pate
Lose this.
Colin Coward
And they will paint this picture for all.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Right, so we just watched Iowa at number 20, play a close game against Oregon, lose, and only drop one spot. My opinion is, if Texas goes on the road, loses a very close competitive game, 24 to 21 to Georgia. But then they wrap their season by beating Texas A and M to hand A and M their first loss. I think the three loss Texas is the three loss team that could make the playoff. They may need like one or two things to happen, but I think three loss Texas, I think they paved the way for him last night. I think the committee already cleared the Runway and now Texas has just got to find a way. And I think the scenario is they lose this game because you're just going to get minimally punished for losing a close game on the road against the top five team. Yeah. Georgia's five or six top ten teams. And then if you beat A and M at the end of the season, like that's the final data point. That's like going to the carnival and swinging the hammer and hitting the bell and it goes all the way up to the top. That's the last image they have. Not to mention the Texas logo matters in the committee room, whether they want to say it or not. So I think Texas, even if they go in there and they lose this game competitively, it's deflating because unlike Pitt, they are in a must win situation because legit programs always think they're in a must win situation. They come out of Athens knowing they still got. They may still have everything in front of them. May.
Colin Coward
Well said.
Josh Pate
Do you think they beat A and M now?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
We'll get to that. We'll get to that. Thanksgiving week.
Colin Coward
Yeah. Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
It is an awesome defense. It isn't awesome.
Josh Pate
Neutralize anybody.
Colin Coward
Well, you talking about A and M.
Josh Pate
I'm talking about taxes. Just saying.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Mississippi State hung 38 on them, so can they neutralize anybody?
Josh Pate
Vanderbilt put 31 on them, but that was like a back. That was. It was the game. Was it? It was Diego Poppy in the last five minutes.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, this would be future Heisman trophy winner Marcel Reed.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Best hundred dollars you ever bet. Come on, man.
Colin Coward
You think It's Marcel Reed plus 850.
Josh Pate
Who's had a better chance in your life?
Colin Coward
You like.
Josh Pate
You like the Marcel Reed or Emma?
Colin Coward
He's got money on Marcel Reed. So. I don't know. Really?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I don't know.
Colin Coward
You have to see the way the season finishes. What?
Josh Pate
I don't know. He got weird about it.
Colin Coward
I did.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Anytime Nebraska comes in the fold.
Colin Coward
No, no.
Josh Pate
There's a different trigger.
Colin Coward
No, I'm more so saying, like, I'm just more so saying for a running back you have to finish in a much different way than a quarterback does.
Josh Pate
Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Who's in the final two games.
Colin Coward
Penn State and Iowa.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Two pretty good teams, two pretty good defenses.
Josh Pate
Is that those two foxhole games for us?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, if anyone knows about foxholes, we know about foxholes. So if you hang 200 on both of those teams, it's tough to do. But I think that's your purpose. Well, number one, your purpose is to win nine games. And number two, your purpose is let's win someone a trophy around here. Maybe the Doak Walker Award. Maybe. Maybe bigger.
Colin Coward
Maybe bigger.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Maybe bigger.
Colin Coward
We'll see how it goes. We'll see how it goes. Dogs of the Week I'm going Arkansas plus five and a half against lsu. Nemire, they don't know who's playing this week.
Josh Pate
Arkansas for Salisbury.
Colin Coward
Boy got benched last week.
Josh Pate
Yeah, he did.
Colin Coward
So, yeah, I like Arkansas against lsu.
Josh Pate
Great. That's also my weekly parlay. But I took lsu, so my dog of the week. I'm going to Virginia. Dropped one last week. They played Duke every like three. This is the third time this year I've gone in the FanDuel sportsbook app and I've just seen Duke and for whatever reason, like Bolds to me and I'm like, why? Why is a line like that? And I've been two and oh, in that situation. This is one of those weeks again. Virginia five and a half.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm taking Purdue plus 16 and a half against Washington because I keep betting Purdue because they're underrated, they're undervalued, they're a bad team, but they keep being given too many points. They keep losing and covering. So I'm going to take Purdue plus 16 and a half at Washington. A lot of rumors up there about Jed Fish and his future. And I know where Barry Odom's going to be next year. At least I think I do think he's going to be in West Lafayette, Indiana, and I think he's got an improving team. They haven't tapped out. They're not good, but at least they haven't tapped out. So probably lose by 10. I'm gonna take him to winning cover. I'm gonna take him to cover. Not win, just cover.
Josh Pate
Ladies and gentlemen, we wrap this episode just to let you know, if you don't already know, the boys of a profit boost token available every college football Saturday. That's a profit boost on any college football Saturday bet. Just Open up the FanDuel Sportsbook app this Saturday and look out for the boosting with the boys. PBT Weekly Parlay Weekly parlay. I took LSU Minus five and a half.
Colin Coward
Tough look for the parlay. BYU minus four and a half against tcu.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Penn State's gonna roll against Michigan State. That's a. That's a top 20 JP poll team. Penn State once again.
Josh Pate
I did. Yeah. In the beginning of the show, I was kind of thumbing through these cards and I saw the Penn State and I thought, seven and a half.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Wow. Yep.
Josh Pate
What a gift being given that you just snatch right up double digits. Yeah, that's a. That's a great pick.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Trying to get Jonathan Smith out of town. Trying to probably negotiate something up there. Michigan State's done. They've tapped out for the season. Penn State, second life. Penn State finally finding out we can throw the ball down the field. Wow. Nick Singleton. I can still run the ball. Do it against Michigan State. Could be a fun time.
Colin Coward
Who the boys in blue got?
Josh Pate
Boys in blue are playing Northwestern at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Away home game for. For Michigan.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
What's the.
Josh Pate
It was 12 and a half. Might be less now.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Away home game.
Josh Pate
Yeah. Like, the alumni in Michigan is very prominent in Chicago and they're playing at Wrigley Field.
Additional Voice / Ad Voice
A lot of go Blue in.
Josh Pate
In Chicago. A lot of gold blue in Chicago. Think about all the times we. We connect. We're like going to an Oregon or something like that. And we're in Chicago. How many Michigan hats you see? Fair enough. Yeah.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yep.
Colin Coward
So eleven and a half.
Josh Pate
This is for Michigan. Dude. This is a game that's like that. I wanted the Purdue game to be that. I wanted the Michigan State game to be like, Northwestern is going to sell out to stop the run. I don't think they'll be able to do that. A lot of guys are injured on the defensive side of the ball. I think it's more of like a caution. Like, hey, we know what's coming up the next couple of weeks, but I think this is a big game for Bryce to take a next step. Like, there was a lot of missed throws in that Purdue game. He didn't. He didn't play well, but receivers were open. He just didn't hit them. And I think this is a big opportunity for him to take that step this week. Because in two weeks, you've got the game.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They are the team. Michigan is the playoff team that no one's talking about. I don't even think most of America understands. Do they control their Big Ten destiny right now? If they get Ohio State in there and they beat them, both of them are one loss in conference. You got the tiebreaker over them, it comes down to usc. Like, if USC goes to Oregon and loses, that's their second conference loss. So you don't have to worry about USC because they'd have the head to head over you. So if USC loses either this week or next week, they're out of the picture. It could. If you take care of business between now and Thanksgiving week. That game against Ohio State is for a trip to the Big Ten championship game. And I don't think anyone realizes people have already just. They've penciled in Ohio State, Indiana, Ohio State, Indiana.
Josh Pate
They. Scandal, dude. You go down, you see, like, scroll down on the college football. You scroll there at the bottom, it'll say Indiana, Ohio State.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, they don't even know. Michigan can still bet on the game.
Josh Pate
Yeah, you can bet on the game. And I wasn't like, as far as, like, Big Ten championships go. Like, I'm so focused on them, like, having the possibility of making it to the playoffs. And it's like, the line's probably going to be ridiculous again, like it was last year.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
That's your path. You've got to beat Ohio State to make the playoff 100%. And in doing so, you may just pave your way to the Big Ten championship game in the process.
Josh Pate
Now, a hypothetical situation. I mean, Michigan beats Ohio State, which we have in the last four years. We're a better team this year than we were last year. And I would argue that Ohio State might be just like, a little bit worse, a little bit maybe more complete as a full team, but I don't even want to get into that. We beat Ohio State, we go to the Big Ten championship, we lose to Indiana.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You're in.
Josh Pate
In.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, you're in. Because you would have been in the top 10 already. They're not going to bump if they're not going to.
Josh Pate
Yeah, I know they're going to bump.
Colin Coward
Where you guys at in the playoff rankings?
Josh Pate
Like, 15, 16 were in those mid.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
A win over Ohio State would be the best win anyone has all year. You would. You would easily jump into the top 10. And at that point, if you're in that playoff bubble going into conference championship Saturday, they didn't bump SMU out last year for losing a conference title game. They're certainly not going to bump you.
Josh Pate
Out the logo, too.
Colin Coward
Yep.
Josh Pate
I can't wait for that game, man. Because it really is. No one's. No one's talking about. Everyone's thinks about Oklahoma, the UFC game, which. The UFC game was an indictment on our entire program. And the defense has truly turned it around and played completely different football since then. Blitz has gone down I think 25%. They were like above 50% blitzing before the USC game. After the UFC game were like 25% now. So it's a much more controlled, disciplined defense. That game's going to be unbelievable. I'm so excited for it.
Colin Coward
Focus on Northwestern no doubt. Don't look past Northwestern.
Josh Pate
I think the big one is Maryland.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Mike Locksley, still the head coach at.
Colin Coward
Maryland, is He thought he got fired.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Well, Twitter would have you believe that.
Josh Pate
The Final Bite Segment we're giving a bold prediction Hot take storyline Flying under the radar. This gives fans one thing to keep in mind before finishing their week and tuning into kickoff.
Colin Coward
Before we get into this Final Bite segment, this episode of the Locker Room is brought to you by McDonald's All New Buffalo Ranch Sauce New Buffalo Ranch sauce has arrived and it pairs perfectly with your snack wrap, McCrispy sandwich and McCrispy strips. It's got the zingy tang of buffalo with the creamy cool of mild ranch. It's mild and wild at the same time. It's a sauce that balances itself and compliments our crispy chicken. Your boy. I personally love the McCrispy sandwich the most. And there is a new sauce in town at McDonald's Tangy Creamy Buffalo Ranch order now available for a limited time at participating McDonald's while supplies last let's get into this Final Bite segment.
Josh Pate
You had a nice little bold take earlier this week revolving around Nebraska.
Colin Coward
People know my Nebraska stuff. I'm going to say my final bite as you're dipping in that little buffalo zesty sauce. I'm going to say Arch manning throws for 350 and three touchdowns and Texas beats the Georgia Bulldogs.
Josh Pate
So you're going to take that money line?
Colin Coward
No. Not for the record.
Josh Pate
Oh, okay.
Colin Coward
This is my final buy.
Josh Pate
We already did that hypothetical there. I like that. Dip it in denim boys. Hashtag dip it in denim. You need Boltex.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
I'm just going to say I didn't pick either of these things to happen outright. Oklahoma and Texas both off buys, both on the playoff bubble right now. They both go on the road to face Bama and Georgia this weekend if they were to both go in there and win. I don't really think people understand how close we are to an absolute and utter chaos 7 SEC playoff team type world. But there is a world where if just these things happen, Vandy, Texas and OU went out. If just those things happen, we would have seven SEC teams with two losses or fewer. At which point the committee's going to have to look and either say, all right, seven of you are in, or they're going to have to look at a two loss SEC team and say, no, we can't let you in bad.
Josh Pate
Optics in that situation. Does that mean no ACC team?
Guest Analyst / Co-host
There is a world now that's a real chaos scenario.
Josh Pate
Super chaos, red button.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
You got to have Duke win the ACC with four losses and be ranked lower as a conference champ than USF in the American and James Madison in the Sun Belt. USF would be ranked higher than them. So they would get in. They would get the fifth guarantee or fourth guaranteed spot. The fifth guaranteed spot. There's a school of thought out there, and I don't know if I buy into it, that says an ACC champ of any record is going to be given the nod over James Madison with a strength of schedule in the 1/ hundreds and a double digit loss to Louisville as their only loss of the year. Ironically, an ACC team. I don't know if I believe that, but I don't know where the committee has James Madison because they do this little sleight of hand thing where they show you their top 25 and they let you know who their highest ranked G5 team is. If there's no G5 team in the 25, they don't let you know anything after that. So James Madison could be ranked 27th, 57th, no one knows. And they leave that wiggle room so that when they get to the end of the year, if they've got this total disaster on their hands and Duke, who has the second best odds to win the ACC right now, by the way, if Duke wins the conference with four losses and you're looking at a situation you thought could never Happen, which is one of the Power 4 conference champs is not one of the five highest ranked conference champs, they can still somehow get them in. I don't know if that needs to happen for the 7sec team, but forget about the rest of the landscape. Just, just imagine a world where you get to the finish line and seven SEC teams have two losses or less. Forget about whatever the rest of the field looks like. If it's crowded, if it's wide open, just think about telling a two loss SEC team Vandy's probably the team. By the way, they just went two losses. They finished with a win in Neyland Stadium to end the year. Imagine telling 10 and 2 Vanderbilt, we don't have room for you not invited to the party because no one would have said in July. If any of these teams goes 10 and two, they're going to get left out. Everyone would have thought if you go 10 and 2 in the SEC, no matter what, like, you're going to have.
Josh Pate
A Vigo 10 and 2 in any of the power fours, pretty much you.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Have a spot, pretty much. Unless you just play, like, a really paper, soft schedule. And Vanderbilt won't have the highest strength of schedule in the world, but it'll be plenty good enough. You would think so. That's the thing. Like, you gotta. You gotta keep a close eye on OU in Texas this weekend, because, again, it's not. It's not mid October. We're in mid November. So there are three weeks left. Some teams only have two games left. So we're running out of time for, quote, unquote, things to work themselves out. Sometimes things don't work themselves out.
Colin Coward
I need it.
Josh Pate
This is the best year of college football so far.
Colin Coward
I need that shit, dude. Just chaos.
Josh Pate
That'd be awesome.
Colin Coward
That would be so. That would be amazing.
Josh Pate
I would love that.
Colin Coward
You have a final bite.
Josh Pate
Yeah, my final bite will be Pitt scores less than 10. Notre Dame scores more than 40.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Oh, so someone does score 40. It's just not USC. It's Notre Dame.
Josh Pate
Yeah, I could see that happening. I see the first couple series pit running to an issue, and then doubt creeps into Pitt's head. And then they remember that press conference of their head coach, and they're like, well, it doesn't matter.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah, there's like an ISO camera shot of players during the game looking at each other and going, yeah. Hey, just shrugging.
Josh Pate
This one doesn't matter to us.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Then they laugh.
Josh Pate
Yeah, they laugh.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
They check their phone.
Josh Pate
Yep. Oh, that'd be awesome. Yeah. Some guys have, like, seeds in their mouth already. It's the second quarter. I can definitely see Notre Dame just blowing the doors off them. You see that kind of press conference, man, like, you got to be in the hot seat immediately. I don't know. Was it Narduzzi? Yeah, I don't know him. My sample size of him is watching that sound bite press in the press conference. That's all I need to know. It's horrible for culture.
Colin Coward
Been there since 2015.
Josh Pate
Horrible for culture.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
First impression of him is a press conference in week 12 of the 2025 season, and he's saying that's not a must. Win this week, lose by 100, don't care. Got Georgia Tech either way.
Josh Pate
To me, it's terrible.
Colin Coward
Great show, boys. T's and peas, man.
Josh Pate
Dude, thank you.
Colin Coward
Get better.
Josh Pate
It's really. These next 96 hours for me are gonna be.
Guest Analyst / Co-host
Yeah.
Colin Coward
Yeah.
Josh Pate
Brutal.
Colin Coward
We love you. We appreciate you. Make sure you are subscribed to the channel. Let's win them all. Good luck this weekend.
Josh Pate
Win them all. We can wait. No, you guys took Georgia or U.S.A. texas. We can't. I'm gonna. I'm just gonna sit here.

Hosts: Will Compton & Taylor Lewan
Special Guest: Josh Pate (“Commissioner of College Football”)
This “Locker Room” edition is a rollicking, insightful dive into Week 12 of the college football season. The Boys, joined by college football analyst Josh Pate, mix sharp analysis with signature locker-room banter. Key storylines include in-depth previews of Texas at Georgia, Notre Dame vs Pitt, and discussions about playoff scenarios, coaching rumors, Heisman hopefuls, and the wild dynamics in the Big 12 and SEC. Notably, the show is punctuated by playful jabs, candid injury updates, and memorable asides about Twitter beefs and life with gout.
“A healthy man wants a lot of things. A sick man just wants one thing.” (09:00)
“He’s probably 6 feet under in a ditch somewhere in Georgia.” (07:34 – Josh Pate)
“If you took that Friday-night-high-school-town vibe and turned the volume up to 200, that’s kind of what Lubbock is like… the whole thing just shuts down … all in for Texas Tech.” (16:28 – Guest)
“The Manti Te’o Heisman wave was real… the feelings we felt were real.” (21:01–21:10 – Josh and co-hosts)
“Nebraska: You want to know about Nebraska? Let me tell you…” (23:41 – Josh Pate)
Spread: Utah -8.5, O/U 60.5
Insight:
“November, if you struggle to stop the run in October, you really let the floodgates open in November… Utah minus eight and a half.” (31:06–31:38 – Guest)
Spread: USC -6.5, O/U 49.5
Key Points:
“Iowa is going to get their ass beat against USC this weekend. USC is a much different football team at home than they are away. Much different.” (41:42 – Josh Pate)
Spread: ND -11.5, O/U 55.5
Debate:
“That sends a horrible message to your team.” (46:18 – Josh Pate)
Spread: Alabama -5.5, O/U 46.5
Consensus:
“This is the week where they actually find those explosive plays… I think Alabama’s going to win, cover, and it’s a double-digit victory for Kalen DeBoer.” (58:00–59:00 – Guest)
Spread: Georgia -5.5, O/U 48.5
Analysis:
“I’m going to take the more proven product over one that… we get out of this game and Texas beats Georgia or keeps it close. Okay, Texas, I’m excited... But Georgia is Georgia, and it’s November when Georgia plays their best football.” (72:24–72:37 – Josh Pate)
“A healthy man wants a bunch of things. A sick man just wants one… I want two feet that work.” (09:00)
“Just a bald guy with a white T-shirt and a microphone who likes the most rudimentary aspects of the game.” (07:17 – Guest quotes a Twitter troll) “Guy went seven for seven. Yeah, seven for seven. Respect the sevens.” (07:24 – Guest)
“The way those towns are on a Friday night where the whole thing just shuts down… you turn the volume up to like 200, that’s kind of what Lubbock is like.” (16:22 – Guest)
“You walk Will Compton in and say, Nebraska… 72 hours later, they’re like, ‘I don’t think he’s breathed yet.’” (23:41 – Josh Pate)
“They have been able to right that ship. That, to me, is unbelievable. We’re going from a Florida State situation to where they are now, seeing number four in the country… That is unbelievable.” (56:00 – Josh Pate)
“You see that kind of press conference, man, like, you gotta be in the hot seat immediately… It’s horrible for culture.” (88:10 – Josh Pate)
“There is a world where… we would have seven SEC teams with two losses or fewer. At that point, the committee… either lets seven in—or leaves out a two-loss SEC team.” (83:51 – Guest Analyst)
