What's up, everybody? Welcome to another episode of Call Her Creator powered by Stan. I have two lovely ladies here today, which I actually had the pleasure of meeting at the Stan Million Dollar Mastermind. Hello, girls.
Kristin (0:14)
Hello. We're so excited to be here. Yes.
Caitlin (0:18)
We've got Kristin and Sheila. I think what we'll do. So let me just tell you guys, we've got some piping hot tea up for discussion today. In fact, before we started talking, Sheila's like, how deep should we go on this? Should we. Where are we trying to go with this conversation? So you might hear some things that you wouldn't hear anywhere else. So we're very excited for this conversation.
Sheila (0:41)
Yes. Yes, we are.
Caitlin (0:42)
So let's first off, Kristin, if you want to, before you guys give your introductions, what are we here today to discuss? What's up in the news right now? What's all over our social media feeds?
Kristin (0:55)
We're going to be talking about the topic of master resell rights and all of the kind of nitty gritty details and what that looks like and kind of behind the scenes, peeling back the layers a little bit and talking all about it.
Caitlin (1:09)
Love that there are so many of you out there. That one. Either you want to know what the MRR is all about or maybe you were inside of it all, but now you're ready to pivot out of there. So we've got two experts here that are kind of going to spill the tea on all of that and hopefully guide you on your own journey. I'll let Sheila start first by introducing yourself and then Kristen can take over and then we'll just get all into it. I'm ready.
Sheila (1:32)
All right. Okay. My name is Sheila, and I have been in the space of helping teach people how to generate an income online for about six years. And before that, I consulted small business owners and helped them scale their businesses. So I love business. I love the ability to be able to teach someone how to make money online because how convenient is that? Right? You get to work in your sweatpants, on your couch, from home, on your own time, in your spare time, during your lunch break, whatever. And you can generate what some people build to become a five figure a month, six figure a month business. Right? It's just crazy. There's so much opportunity out there. About a year ago, I was or I was in the network marketing space and I stepped out of it and I took a little break for about six months and I came across master resell rights as a concept and I'm like, this is really cool. And found out that you could resell, purchase a course and resell it for 100% profit. And my first question knowing business was, well, what does the person who made the course make? And the girl was like, well, they don't make anything. They just do it to be kind. I'm like, are you serious? This is nuts. Like, sign me up. I've been an affiliate for things before and never made more than 30% commission on anything. So a hundred percent. I was like, wow, sign me up. So got started by sharing a course that had master resell rights attached to it last summer and did really well. I was making five figures a month out the gate because I had social selling experience coming into it. I had business experience coming into it. It was not my first rodeo. I'm good at sales and it was like a no brainer. It was fun, it was amazing. And I also had timing on my side and that's something that is not talked about anymore. Within that space space, there were a lot of people who started last summer who were having five figure months out the gate with master resell rights. And I've said that if I were to start a brand new account from Xero tomorrow with the experience that I have trying to resell a course that had master resell rights attached, I don't know how well I would do. I don't know if I would sell. I don't know if I'd be able to sell courses. So why is that? Because again, last summer when Kristen and I both started, we the timing, like nobody knew what it was. And then you were just really marketing and education to people. You weren't marketing like sell this course to resell it or buy this course to resell it. You weren't marketing. Now you need this course. Now you need this course because now there's all these other courses popping up. So it's like this is your answer. This is your answer. So now everybody's selling to each other and it's just this big mess and the marketing is messy, it's not clear. And so I think I'd have trouble because Instagram now. So if somebody, you know, you know this, Caitlin. If somebody lands on your reel, even if they don't like it or comment if they watch it, Instagram's like, ooh, that's what she wants to see. So that's what they start showing you. So now you have all these people in this space. And so if somebody happens to land upon Susie Q's brand new account, she puts her first reel out about this course that she's selling. Somebody watches it and they're intrigued and they're like, oh, she's gonna make money from home with her three year old on her hip in the kitchen. Like, how cool is that? And they watch her reel and they move on. But guess what? Instagram starts showing that person is everybody else's content who's selling the exact same thing. And you're gonna have somebody in there with this big fat income claim, whether it's truthful or not. And you're gonna have somebody in there who has fifty thousand, a hundred thousand followers and that's gonna be the person they purchase from if they choose to purchase. It's just sales psychology. So it's not really fair playing field for beginners anymore. It's just not.
