Jessica Capshaw
Hello, hello, hello, hello. Call it, crew. And welcome to another episode of Short and sweet.
Podcast Host 1
Sweet.
Jessica Capshaw
This is. This episode's right up my alley. And you know, this one is.
Podcast Host 2
This was.
Podcast Host 1
We're getting straight from the defunct, no longer defunct Tick Tock. The Tick Tock trend. This is trending on Tick Tock.
Jessica Capshaw
Is it?
Podcast Host 1
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, you know you're cooler than me. The low energy hobbies, that's what we're talking about today. What has little to no effort. As you guys know, I love being a little slothy. And so give it to me. We asked the crew what they had to say.
Podcast Host 1
I'm working on being a little more slothy, accepting that part of myself and being like, you know what? Get back in bed. Yeah. What do you want to watch? I. I did it the other day. I binged black doves with Kira Knightley. Oh, how was it? Oh, it's so good.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, yeah. Good for you. Just gotta bring some bravo. That's it.
Podcast Host 1
I know, I haven't.
Jessica Capshaw
You're not ready for it yet.
Podcast Host 1
I'll train. I'm not ready there. I have to work up to it.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. Okay.
Podcast Host 1
So nothing is better than a hobby that requires little to no effort, which is something you know about. But they're, I think, probably perfect when you're tired after your day at work or your day at home working, whatever it is. So we asked the crew if they have any low energy hobbies. Do you? Do you have any low energy hobbies?
Jessica Capshaw
A low energy hobby? No. What is it?
Podcast Host 1
Organizing.
Jessica Capshaw
That's not low energy, Jess.
Podcast Host 1
Really?
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. You're up and moving.
Podcast Host 1
Oh, I have to, like, not move, like a little.
Jessica Capshaw
It's a little. I don't. I think we're gonna see that. These. Okay, let's go through these and then we'll. We'll think about it. Because I think you gotta see the vibe. Okay. All right.
Podcast Host 1
So Nikki wrote in painting my nails.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. Love that you're sitting down, chilling, painting.
Podcast Host 1
Gotcha. Okay.
Jessica Capshaw
Sophie. Listening to an audiobook wrapped up in a blanket on the couch with a scented candle lit.
Podcast Host 1
Ooh, that's real low energy.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Podcast Host 1
You see, I only listen to audiobooks when I'm doing something.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. I don't know what. Slothy, you. Yeah, we gotta sloth you up.
Podcast Host 1
Yeah, I know. I need to be Slothed up. Okay. Maddie said crocheting. Oh, I needlepoint.
Jessica Capshaw
See, that's good.
Podcast Host 1
Low energy.
Jessica Capshaw
Yes.
Camille Luddington
Okay.
Jessica Capshaw
And very grounded.
Podcast Host 1
Catching on.
Jessica Capshaw
I thought about Chris and Chenoweth, by the way. We asked her her little. What she likes to do to, you know, chill out. And she said basically bedazzling.
Podcast Host 1
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
And I thought a lot about that because I think I could. I could bedazzle some stuff.
Podcast Host 1
You could be a grade A bedazzler.
Jessica Capshaw
I really do. I think I could do that.
Camille Luddington
Yeah.
Podcast Host 1
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Okay. Ruby, sending my best friend Beth, who lives very far away, little mini vlogs on Snapchat.
Podcast Host 1
Is that a hobby?
Jessica Capshaw
Well, she considers it her hobby.
Podcast Host 1
Okay.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Podcast Host 1
All right. Ruby. Emily says going on a slow walk and listening to Call it what it is.
Jessica Capshaw
I love being.
Podcast Host 1
I'm envisioning her slow walking.
Jessica Capshaw
I know, but I love being. If we're part of the cruise. Slothy slothness.
Podcast Host 1
Slothy slitherwalk. Yeah, you're there.
Jessica Capshaw
That's a win.
Podcast Host 1
Yeah, for sure.
Jessica Capshaw
Julie said, taking care of all the.
Podcast Host 1
House plants, well, that feels high energy. Takes some energy to do that.
Jessica Capshaw
But you, you threw out organizing as one of your things.
Podcast Host 1
Well, I know, but I'm. But I think if I was told that that's too much energy output.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, okay.
Podcast Host 1
So is house taking care of house plants.
Jessica Capshaw
I could see it's like a slow. I guess it's a slow pour of water.
Podcast Host 1
I don't know.
Jessica Capshaw
Mila said, I love puzzles. Putting the pieces together with a show or music in the background.
Podcast Host 1
I like puzzles, too.
Jessica Capshaw
I was going to say, don't you love puzzles?
Podcast Host 1
I do. Josie and I became puzzlers and when we moved to New York and in the winter time is a really good time to do puzzles.
Jessica Capshaw
How many people like, what's the biggest piece puzzle you've done?
Podcast Host 1
You know, that's funny that you should ask. I didn't know that that was important. And the first one I got us was a thousand pieces. And I was like, we're going to be successful at this.
Jessica Capshaw
Did you finish it?
Podcast Host 1
And I don't like giving up. So I was in a real pickle. Yeah, I did have to put that one into a quart sized Ziploc baggie and find another time for it. And I went to the store promptly and got a 300 piece puzzle. And that was much more our speed. We've worked up to 500 now, but.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, good for you.
Podcast Host 1
That was. That was enough to really keep you up at night. Alyssa said, it sounds basic, but just locking in on a really good book. Same girl, same. Love a good book.
Jessica Capshaw
I do love a good book. I am due to go and and get a new one.
Podcast Host 1
Yeah. Oh God. I have 7,500. Please, after this ask me. Oh my God, I have so many books.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm feeling. You know what? I'm inspired by the crew and they said, they said a little smut. A smutty book.
Podcast Host 1
Oh yeah. A little After Dark. A little.
Jessica Capshaw
Maybe I need a little, you know. Sorry Matt. A little holiday romance.

Delaney said Napping. I think that's a no energy hobby.
Jessica Capshaw
If that is, if that counts, then that is my favorite. I just, I get so much joy from taking a nap.
Podcast Host 1
That's awesome. I only ever napped when I was pregnant and then every once in a while I have to be real tired. But it can happen.
Jessica Capshaw
Do you know the place I can nap the best is Trailer. The yes. Yeah, our trailers on set. I don't know why that was the.
Podcast Host 1
Only place that I ever used to nap. I think I came to it when I was pregnant and then I definitely carried through when I wasn't just pregnant. But so when we would work, especially if you were at an, you know, all day long, let's say from leaving your house in the morning until getting home at night was like sometimes can be like 17. 17 hours.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Podcast Host 1
And if you have a 6am call and lunch is at 1 and you got an hour, I used to absolutely feel like one day was from six to one and then I sleep and then I'd wake up to a whole other day and I'd make myself a coffee and I'd start the second part of the workday at 2 until who knows when.
Jessica Capshaw
That's a Good way to think about it, actually.
Podcast Host 1
But it was like two days in one.
Jessica Capshaw
I can sleep. I can deep sleep so hard on set that I will wake up confused as to where I am and who I am.
Camille Luddington
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Well.
Podcast Host 1
And once I was a couple years in, I. I felt, I guess at home enough to properly outfit. We get. We have, like, queen size beds in our trailer, which it was always like.
Camille Luddington
Why is there a bed?
Podcast Host 1
Like, what are you gonna do? You're not spending the night. Right. But I made that bed up like mine at home. And I had like, my down comforter and duvet cover and. Oh, so cozy.
Jessica Capshaw
I got, you know, my bed. I got a lot of fluffy pillows because we used it in the Barbie video when we did that. We did. I got a fluffy bed.
Podcast Host 1
That was a year ago. I. I was thinking about that. It was almost exactly. Well, first of all, it was a year. It's been a year since we sold the idea of this podcast to iHeart. And we sat down with Amy and Danielle to talk about what we wanted to contribute to the podcast world. And here we are a year later. Um, and then also a year ago, I was in Los Angeles working on Arizona's return episode.
Jessica Capshaw
Wow. That's crazy.
Podcast Host 1
A year has passed.
Jessica Capshaw
Wow.
Podcast Host 1
Okay. Allison said, snuggling my dog on the couch.
Camille Luddington
Amen.
Podcast Host 1
I'm there for it. I love a snuggle on the couch with a dog.
Jessica Capshaw
Mary, make desserts. That is not a low energy situation for me. That is a high stress.
Podcast Host 1
Of course it is.
Jessica Capshaw

Podcast Host 1
Yep. Because it's fun and it's so organized. It's so aesthetic.

Jessica Capshaw
Yes.
Podcast Host 1
It's been particularly and surprisingly energizing to talk about all this low energy hobby ness. And I'm gonna. I made some notes. I'm gonna try and work on my low energy game.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm gonna bedazzle. I'm serious. I might get a kit.
