Call it what it is with Jessica.
Camilla Luddington
Capshaw and Camille Ludington and iHeartRadio podcast. Well, hello, hello, hello, hello, Call it.
Jessica
Crew and welcome to another episode of Short and Sweet Treatment or Torture. I just dove right in because I just liked, I liked the the wording of this.
Camilla Luddington
You liked a log line.
Jessica
I did.
Camilla Luddington
The things we do. I mean in the name of beauty, in the name of health, wellness, treatment or Torture.
Jessica
So there are so many beauty treatments available out there to look better or feel better, and we have all been there naked under a paper sheet.
Camilla Luddington
I actually like a cozy duvet.
Jessica
Who gives you a cozy duvet?
Camilla Luddington
When do you get naked under a paper sheet? You get naked under a paper.
Jessica
Not for a beauty treatment. No, I haven't yet. But I'm just gonna duvet for a beauty treatment.
Camilla Luddington
When you get a little facial. You got a duvet? Heck, yeah. When I go to Nicole Caroline, I just. It's almost like a. It's like a. It's like this beautiful. Almost like a massage egg shaped. Yes. Like the fluffiest facial bed in the world.
Jessica
Oh, my God.
Camilla Luddington
Leave me there.
Jessica
All right, well, everyone name check that. Yeah, yeah. So everyone's doing all different things. And let's talk. Let's dive in a little bit. Can I start with something? I want to start with the beauty treatment that you recommended to me.
Camilla Luddington
Okay.
Jessica
And you. I did not really understand that you had a high pain tolerance. And I've since found out that mine is rather low. And I went in for an IPL because you said it's. So what that is is it's a little laser. And you go in and it's sort.
Camilla Luddington
Of your sun damage for your sun damage.
Jessica
Right. And I had, like, lots of little. You know, I'm British, got some freckles. And you're like, I love it.
Camilla Luddington
I love the freckles, honestly.
Jessica
Can I tell you, it's taken off enough of my freckles that I now use a freckle pen.
Camilla Luddington
Pause there. I want a freckle pen.
Jessica
Do you?
Camilla Luddington
Yes.
Jessica
Yeah, you gotta draw a little freckles on. I just do it on my.
Camilla Luddington
Can you send me a link to whatever one you like?
Jessica
Sure.
Camilla Luddington
Basically get rid of them and then put them back on.
Jessica
Yes. But it does, like, brighten your skin. But you're like. It kind of feels like a little elastic band, like, you know, popping on your skin. And it's like, okay, let's go. So I go to the place that you recommend, and they are amazing, but my pain tolerance is not yours.
Camilla Luddington
So Camilla Ludington felt like it was maybe like matches being put out on our skin instead of our bands being flicked.
Jessica
I felt like it was like I was a fireworks show.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, okay.
Jessica
Like little explosions everywhere.
Camilla Luddington
And I. It's.
Jessica
I find it so painful. And it made me realize that that's not even considered, like, a deep laser.
Camilla Luddington
No. Gosh. They can get hardcore. They always ask me if I want numbing cream And I've done it both ways. But recently, I do this thing. I basically do an IPL year. Um, I got a lot of sunspots and a lot of sun damage when I was pregnant. Cause you're much more photosensitive when you're pregnant. So I would. My chest and my face would get a lot of spots, so I would get them yearly. Anyways, I've done it without, like, this. They put kind of like a lidocaine.
Jessica
Do it without the lidocaine.
Camilla Luddington
I have done it both ways. I got a little cocky about my high tolerance for pain.
Jessica
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
And I went to go get mine this year, and I was like, I don't need it. I'm fine. I had to hold up. I was like. She said she started. And I was like, hold up. We're gonna. I'm gonna just. We're gonna admit defeat here right away, and I'm gonna say, let's go get that lidocaine. Wow.
Jessica
Oh, my God. Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. So maybe my high tolerance for pain is waning.
Jessica
Have you ever done laser hair removal? Because I hear that is a situation too.
Camilla Luddington
No, I have never done that. I'm not a super hairy person.
Jessica
No, me neither. But some people just like to, you know, have a little zap. Zap.
Camilla Luddington
Although I will tell you. Oh, this is just. This is not a great story to report.
Jessica
Go.
Camilla Luddington
I got a bikini wax recently, and I'm normally like, the type that gets on the phone while that's happening.
Jessica
Sure.
Camilla Luddington
It's like, yeah, go, like, do your thing.
Jessica
Facetime me.
Camilla Luddington
No, feel free.
Jessica
I don't mind it. Don't worry.
Camilla Luddington
I'm distracting myself. Yeah. So, you know, you're like. And she just tells me. She gives me the cues, right? It's like straight down. And then by the end, you know, you're like, she's a happy baby. And you're like, okay. This is so bizarre. Bikini waxes are bizarre. Just in general.
Jessica
Whatever.
Camilla Luddington
I don't pay attention is the point. I get up on the table. I ended up running and meeting the kids. We end up going to the beach. Total rookie mistake. I got in the ocean, which is all salt water, and all of a sudden, like, it was a moment. It was a shocking moment of just stinging. And I was like, oh. So anyways, I come home, I go to take a shower, and I look down, and I was like, I got it. I clearly need to check work afterwards because my. My situation was left of center. It was not a.
Jessica
No.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. It just wasn't a. It was not a Symmetrical job.
Jessica
It wasn't. I don't know, she was literally off the mark. That sucks. That really sucks. I mean, what do you do? You just gotta wait for a regrowth to, you know, on one side in particular. Just a really.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, it was a left leaning situation.
Jessica
It was a tower of Pisa.
Camilla Luddington
You know what, maybe that's what she.
Jessica
Thought when she was doing it. She was like, you know what? I'm gonna make this a little European.
Camilla Luddington
No, she's like this. She's like, this girl isn't even paying attention. I could do whatever I want.
Jessica
He's like, what the ever ye. Yeah, next time bring like the measuring tape.
Camilla Luddington
You know, like, you know the things when you're.
Jessica
Like when you're. When you're hanging like a thing. When you're hanging a frame and then you have a little thing on top that tells you if it's centered. Yeah, bring that.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, a little leveler.
Jessica
Yeah, you bring a leveler.
Camilla Luddington
Okay, put it on top. Stand up.
Jessica
Put it on top. It's not level.
Camilla Luddington
I need a. Need a redo. Yeah. But I was faced with the question then of like, do you. Do you attempt to write it? Do you just go for broke and do a reset? Do you. Like, what is. Anyway, I'm too lazy and I don't have enough time to revisit. So this is how we're rolling for a while.
Jessica
I think you go to someone new. I think that's what you do.
Camilla Luddington
For a minute. So. Yeah, so that's the bikini. Bikini wax situation. I've done the lasers. Have you ever done a vampire facial?
Jessica
Never.
Camilla Luddington
I've done that.
Jessica
Have you? That's where they spin your blood, right?
Camilla Luddington
Well, they take out your blood and they spin it and get platelets out of it or something and then they kind of do like a micro needling situation.
Jessica
See, I've never had micro needling.
Camilla Luddington
I've only done it a couple. I've only done it a couple times. I'm always game to try all that stuff.
Jessica
Is it Ola therapy? Yola therapy, Oltherapy, Ultherapy. I don't. Well, I haven't done it, but I hear it's like. It's so good. Leggins. It's so that, like, does it like a beautiful lift, right?
Camilla Luddington
I heard that's not. I heard that's not a good thing to do.
Jessica
Oh, really? I heard it's also very painful.
Camilla Luddington
Maybe we need to call Vanessa.
Jessica
We do need to call Vanessa.
Camilla Luddington

Jessica
Okay, is there a treatment you're saving for the future that you've heard about and it scares you? Yeah, it's called a deep plane facelift.
Camilla Luddington
Scares the shit out of me.
Jessica
Oh, please.
Camilla Luddington
I don't know.
Jessica
Together.
Camilla Luddington
Really?
Jessica
Everyone's looking great, and I hear you.
Camilla Luddington
Do it in your. Ludington, who literally can't handle an ipl, is telling me that I need to buckle up and just get well, you're under plain facelift.
Jessica
You're under for that now.
Camilla Luddington
Reminds me of John Travolta movie called Face Off. It just. I don't. I like my face where it is.
Jessica
But you know what? I used to. I used to feel like, you know, I'm just going to age, like, totally naturally. And then I'm like, now in my 40s, and I'm like, no. Whenever I need that, like, hoist me in there, ready to go. Okay. Have you done any treatments that left you unexpectedly hiding out in your house during a long recovery? Someone asked.
Camilla Luddington
No.
Jessica
No. An IPL actually does, like, really make you burn.
Camilla Luddington
But I. But I'm at dinner that night, like, I'm just. I'm just stealing ice cubes from my water.
Jessica
Yes. I'm swollen. Like, it looks like I've eaten.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica
Sushi for the past year.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica
I did a podcast the next day after that, and I. It is what it is. You know what I cannot do? Like, I don't understand it is a cold plunge.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, yeah. I. Weirdly, I thought I'd be terrible at it. I'm weirdly not all that bothered by it, but I definitely don't run towards it. It's not like, something I can't wait to do. It's just that once I am in it, I'm not like, I'm not counting the seconds. I'm like, I'm cool.
Jessica
Really?
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica
I think I'd be counting the seconds.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, I don't know what that's like.
Jessica
I see those people on social media and they're like, I wake up in the morning and I journal and then I cold plunge. And I'm like, you what?
Camilla Luddington
Those people.
Jessica
Every day, whatever.
Camilla Luddington
Are they real? It feels like AI.
Jessica
Maybe they are.
Camilla Luddington
How about self tanning?
Jessica
I just got a self tan last week. Loved it.
Camilla Luddington
Did you do the spray?
Jessica
I did a spray tan. I did a versus, and I have not been. I went into this place and I was like, they're like, what's your name? Like, listen, I haven't been here for years. They still had my. My. My treatment bundle. My treatment bundle from 2019. And so I got a free spray tan. Ludington of 19.
Camilla Luddington
Surprise, surprise, surprise, surprise.
Jessica
I do love a spray tan, but never, ever is it not patchy on me. For some reason, my calves will not take the tan.
Camilla Luddington
I've seen this on you.
Jessica
Oh, now it comes out. Thanks for helping me.
Camilla Luddington
What do you mean?
Jessica
You're like. Oh, I'm definitely.
Camilla Luddington
That's.
Jessica
That's your legs. Well, bring up bronzer next time, dude, and help me.
Camilla Luddington
You want to get out my exfoliating mitt?
Jessica
What do you want?
Camilla Luddington
It's not terrible. It's not terrible. I just. When you said that. I understand. Because it also happens to the rest of us. Listen, most of the time it's like, I get, like, spaghetti face where it concentrates around my. It looks like.
Jessica
That's really funny.
Camilla Luddington
It does. It looks like you just had, like, a big bowl of spaghetti. And then I also. I mean, your first giveaways are your knuckles, your hair. Oh, in between. Like, all of a sudden you have webs, fingers, and there's, like, you know, pale bits in between. And then wrists, always at the wrists.
Jessica
A straight line.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, the worst. I've had to really perfect that little buffing motion you do at the end. And then elbows, knees, and feet. Those are tough spots for self tanning.
Jessica
Those are very tough spots. Have you ever walked out of, like, a spa or clinic and actually regretted it immediately? Been like that. I should not have done that.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, that's a good question.
Jessica
I haven't done that yet. I've done that with my hair. I rocked out of a salon and been like. That was.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, yeah.
Jessica
Never gotten, like, gray highlights before? No.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, dude, I've never. Yeah. I think it's because I've never done anything that was, like, irreversible, but where I would be, like, what did I do? I think that's why I'm afraid of the surgery stuff. Like, I think there's.
Jessica
Especially your face.
Camilla Luddington
Like, I'm worried. I'm worried. It just makes me worried, Camilla, because you can't change it. If it's done, it's done.
Jessica
Wait, Jessica.
Camilla Luddington
What?
Jessica
I just heard about a new treatment, like, two weeks ago. Because it's on a show that you don't watch, the Valley, which you should watch.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica
Scrotox.
Camilla Luddington
If this has to do with scrotum and Botox, it is what is wrong in the world.
Jessica
It's Botox for your balls. Like, it makes them smoother.
Camilla Luddington
I'm done.
Jessica
I'm not kidding.
Camilla Luddington
Let's call it the end of the episode.
Jessica
No, we're not calling it yet. We are not calling it Scrotox.
Camilla Luddington
Who are we right now? Scrotox.
Jessica
Okay, I've looked it up. Scrotox, also known as scrotal Botox or scrotum ankle wrinkle injection.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, my God.
Jessica
Is a cosmetic procedure that involves injecting Botox into the scrotum.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, my God.
Jessica
I'm just a little confused because. Because, like, as a guy, are you really looking down there and thinking like, God, I wish that was smoother. When we have Matt on. We need to talk about square dogs. I'm telling you right now, it's popping off. Popping off. People are. People are in line for this. I don't really know if they are, but I heard about this.
Camilla Luddington
So I did ask during a bikini wax session where I clearly wasn't just looking at my phone and rather more engaged. I remember saying to her, do, what's your ratio of male to female?
Jessica
Oh, yeah.
Camilla Luddington
I was surprised by the answer.
Jessica
What is it?
Camilla Luddington
Well, it wasn't 90 women and 10 men. It was more like 55 women, 45 men. And I was like, really? And. And you know, you gotta be. I think mostly It's a little 40 year old version. It's like chest and back type waxing.
Jessica
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because I was picturing just now, like, is there some sort of like downstairs situation where they're. They're. You know, it's a. It's a.
Camilla Luddington
It's a heart shape or left of.
Jessica
Center or Tower of Pisa leaning to our pizza.
Camilla Luddington
Well, I mean, I think that manscaping is real.
Jessica
No, I agree with you. I bet it's like shoulders and stuff like that.
Camilla Luddington
Okay, that just. That's interesting to me.
Jessica
Okay. If you, if. Call it through. If anyone has had Scrotox, we want to hear from you. I really do. I want to know if now you're like God, that's what I needed. I also want to know if you had any numbing situation if it hurts and why like are you. I don't know. I have so many questions. We actually need to have someone just facetime in while they're getting square dogs. Okay. I do agree we can call it.
Camilla Luddington
Okay my brain left my body. I know, I know I do.
Jessica
I feel like this is where we leave leave it. This is. This is the perfect spot.
Camilla Luddington
Namaste. I'm happy happy to leave it here. Okay, let's call it the end of the episode. Hey, can we talk about Plan B for a second? What exactly is it?
Jessica
Okay, Plan B is emergency contraception you take after unprotected sex. Think of it as back backup birth control. It works by temporarily delaying ovulation to help prevent pregnancy before it starts.
Camilla Luddington
And it's available right off the shelf.
Jessica
Yep. It's at all major retailers in all 50 US states. No prescription ID or age requirement.
Camilla Luddington
Ah, together we've got this.
Jessica
Follow Plan B on insta at Plan B. One step. Use as directed.

Title: Short & Sweet: Treatment or Torture - Scrotox, Laser Intel and Bikini Wax Confessions
Release Date: July 31, 2025
Hosts: Jessica Capshaw & Camilla Luddington
Hosted By: iHeartPodcasts
[02:18 - 03:24]
Jessica and Camilla kick off the episode by delving into the realm of beauty treatments, playfully debating the balance between enhancing appearance and enduring discomfort. Jessica expresses her initial intrigue with the episode's title, while Camilla highlights the dual nature of beauty routines—"in the name of beauty, in the name of health, wellness, treatment or Torture." They set the stage for an honest conversation about their personal experiences with various cosmetic procedures.
[03:24 - 06:18]
The conversation transitions to IPL treatments, where Jessica shares her recent experience:
Jessica [04:17]: "I went in for an IPL because you said it's. So what that is is it's a little laser... it kind of feels like a little elastic band, like, you know, popping on your skin."
Camilla recounts her own IPL sessions, emphasizing her high pain tolerance—"I've done it without, like, this. They put kind of like a lidocaine." However, Jessica admits her lower pain tolerance made the experience more challenging:
Camilla [06:14]: "Maybe my high tolerance for pain is waning."
They discuss the varying levels of discomfort associated with IPL, highlighting the subjective nature of pain perception in cosmetic treatments.
[06:18 - 09:10]
Shifting to skincare, the hosts share their bikini waxing stories. Camilla narrates a mishap during her waxing session:
Camilla [07:00]: "I ended up running and meeting the kids... I was stinging from the saltwater."
Jessica empathizes with the awkwardness of uneven waxing results:
Jessica [07:37]: "It wasn't a Symmetrical job... it was a tower of Pisa."
They humorously debate the importance of precision in waxing and consider solutions like bringing a leveler to ensure symmetry.
[09:10 - 10:35]
Jessica inquires about lesser-known treatments like vampire facials and Ultherapy:
Camilla [09:10]: "I've done a vampire facial... They take out your blood and they spin it and get platelets out of it or something."
Jessica mentions her curiosity about Ultherapy but expresses hesitance due to concerns about pain:
Jessica [09:46]: "It's so good. Leggins. It's so that, like, does it like a beautiful lift, right?"
Despite intrigue, both hosts acknowledge the apprehensions associated with invasive procedures, especially facial surgeries.
[10:35 - 17:21]
The discussion moves to self-tanning, with Jessica sharing her challenges:
Jessica [15:22]: "I think I'd be counting the seconds."
Camilla humorously describes the uneven results of spray tanning:
Camilla [16:19]: "It just looks like you just had, like, a big bowl of spaghetti."
They exchange tips on achieving a flawless tan, laughing over common mishaps like patchy areas and streaks, highlighting the universal struggle with achieving the perfect tan.
[17:21 - 20:52]
The hosts introduce and react to the controversial cosmetic procedure known as Scrotox:
Jessica [18:17]: "It's Botox for your balls. Like, it makes them smoother."
Camilla expresses her disbelief and discomfort:
Camilla [18:27]: "If this has to do with scrotum and Botox, it is what is wrong in the world."
They contemplate the motivations behind such procedures and consider the implications of altering one's body in unconventional ways. The conversation touches on societal pressures and the lengths individuals might go to meet beauty standards.
[20:52 - 21:47]
Transitioning from beauty to health, Jessica and Camilla discuss Plan B, an emergency contraceptive:
Jessica [21:15]: "Plan B is emergency contraception you take after unprotected sex... it works by temporarily delaying ovulation."
They emphasize its accessibility:
Camilla [21:31]: "It's available right off the shelf... No prescription, ID, or age requirement."
The segment underscores the importance of accessible reproductive health options, encouraging listeners to stay informed and proactive.
[20:52 - End]
The episode concludes with light-hearted banter and a mutual agreement to end the discussion on Scrotox, reflecting the hosts' camaraderie and comfort in navigating both serious and humorous topics.
Throughout the episode, Jessica and Camilla offer an unfiltered look into the world of cosmetic treatments, balancing humor with candid discussions about pain, results, and societal expectations. Their honest exchanges provide listeners with relatable experiences, practical advice, and a touch of humor, making the complex topic of beauty treatments accessible and engaging. The introduction of Scrotox serves as a conversation starter about the evolving landscape of cosmetic procedures, prompting listeners to consider the implications of newer, unconventional treatments.
The Plan B segment reinforces the hosts' commitment to addressing diverse topics, ensuring the podcast remains informative and supportive beyond the realm of beauty. Overall, the episode encapsulates the essence of friendship—navigating life's highs and lows with honesty, humor, and unwavering support.
