Justin Richmond
This is Justin Richmond from Broken Record. Are you the kind of person who sets standards for themselves? Like personally I told myself if the Lakers lose or do or die Game five, I wouldn't let it impact my mood at home with family. The standard Lexus has set for themselves is to experience amazing. Lexus measures success by the feelings and emotions evoked in a driver, like exhilaration and joy. Amazing can only be achieved by knowing people on a deeper level. The standard of amazing results in machines that make you feel more human. Because a car that doesn't make you feel something is a car that stops short of amazing experience. Amazing at your Lexus dealer.

Call it what It Is with Jessica.
Jessica Capshaw
Capshaw and Camille Luddington and iHeartRadio podcast. Well hello, hello, hello, hello Call it.
Camilla Luddington
Crew and welcome to another episode of Call it what It Is.
Jessica Capshaw
It's been A minute is what it is.
Camilla Luddington
It's been a minute.
Jessica Capshaw
A minute. We've had. We've had. We've had a start to the summer. It's been a. It's not even been a. You know what it's been like. I feel like the beginning of the summer has been like. I've been on. I was on a mounting block.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
I knew that I was starting back, like the other part of work, and I was like, okay, I'm chilling. I know I'm going to get on the mounting block soon to do that, like, divey dive into summer, you know, like the. The racers start. And I knew it was happening, but I was chilling, hanging out with the kids, thinking about summer coming up, making the plans, doing the this, doing the nut. And then I was like. They were like, oh, hey, it's time to get up on the mounting block. Cause we're gonna do the start. And I'm like, oh, yeah, cool. Yeah, for sure. Got my little bathing suit on. Cute. Ducked it in, all the things. Got up on the mounting block. And I got shot out of a cannon. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you did. I wasn't like a diver. I was like a torpedo.
Camilla Luddington
You got torpedoed out. Have we talked? Because the truth is, is that we hit our one year anniversary. I was ready to go. I was. I was sat with my little podcast, my little coffee. I was ready for. And then Jessica Capshaw was too busy for me. She was. She was a Nashville being shot out of a cannon.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm still swimming.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, you're still flying.
Jessica Capshaw
I was still in the race.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. Can you tell us anything?
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, I can. And what I can tease is, well, first of all, I've been reminded that I was not at the beginning of Grey's, so. And I'm not at the beginning of the practice, which would have been my. The other show I did as a series regular for a while. So I actually realized that I've not been at the beginning of a show in a wool in a really long time. Like the beginnings of shows I did never went. They were pilots that died. So I'm at a beginning for the first time and in I guess just a really long time. And so there's a real energy to that. And the. The Nashville is incredible. I love it as much as everyone told me I was going to. Learning about a city is so interesting and nuanced and it sort of like opens up all these different pathways in your brain and all that.
Camilla Luddington
So getting settled, Jessica called me and she goes, everyone's so N here. Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
I went in. The first thing I noticed was I went into it with my New York driving energy.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. And you're la probably a little bit.
Jessica Capshaw
Well, I don't know. But I just know that in New York, you know, if you would like to get into the right lane, you're not just turning on your blinker, you're just turning into your right lane. Yeah. And then somehow, like, some magical force.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Other cars, like, shift and move around you. So I got there, and maybe one of the first days, I realized I had, like, New York energy while I was driving. And I think I probably went to do some rude New York move. I think I probably cut in front of someone, and instead of someone, you know, honking at me or flipping me the bird or being like, hey, you asshole. Yeah, Whoever it was was, like, truly stopped. And I. I swear, like, rolled down their window with a smile on their face, was like, oh, honey, go ahead. What?
Camilla Luddington
I'm sorry, what?
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, they were like, no, no, no, you go, are you in a hu. Go ahead. And I thought, oh. It was actually a really great reminder that I needed to reset. I needed to slow my role. I needed to calibrate to where I was instead of where I was coming from, and I needed to. To just, you know, get with the program. Get with the Nashville program. So it's been, you know, a new city, a new place, all that stuff, and then a new crew and just meeting all these incredible people and just again, the energy of a. Of a beginning. Everyone's so willing and able and also reminded that this thing we do is not easy, and it's an incredibly dynamic show. I mean, we've got. It's been a minute since I worked nights. It's been nights. It's been days. It's been splits. And, I mean, the things that this team is endeavoring to bring to television in the fall is ambitious, and they. We can do it, but it's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot of great stuff, but it's a lot. And so from stem to stern, the team is, like, from fittings, just so exacting and so articulate about what they want and all that. And just getting into the scene work and. And. And. And creating this family and then this team outside of it. And it's been. It's been great. It's been really, really interesting. It's been a wild and really fun beginning. We're still in it. I mean, maybe. Maybe the whole season will feel like a beginning.
Camilla Luddington
I don't know, is the first episode.
Jessica Capshaw
A little juicy bananas? The first three, they're bananas.
Camilla Luddington
I can't wait. Okay, so we're back together, and we.
Jessica Capshaw
Thought, well, well, by the way, can we just speak to that? Because what I just said to Camilla before we got on was that this morning, I was looking at our breakdown of the episode today, and I was with the girls and with Luke, and I was. We were previewing some of the. Some of the questions, and I got so excited. Like, we haven't been together for two weeks. I mean, we' talked on the phone yesterday, but on the zoom. And I got so excited to see you. Like, so excited. And we also were. We were. When we were asking the questions, we were like. The girls were like, what do you think Camille's gonna say about that? And I was like, I don't know. We're gonna find out.
Camilla Luddington
That's so cute. Yes, it's true. So I. I've been. I took my, you know, week vacation of the year, and Jessica and I talked on the phone while I was there, and I was on the walls screaming at my kids on the beach.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
So I'd be screaming and then talking to Jessica and getting all the updates.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
She sent me a picture of her in her costume, and she looks so chic, of course. I'm, like, so used to her in scrubs, and she looks so chic. And I was already, like, deciding the campaigns that she needed. I was like, chanel, here we come. I. And I think it's, like, also about me, too. Do you know what I mean? It's like.
Jessica Capshaw
It is.
Camilla Luddington
I'm included in this somehow.
Jessica Capshaw
Of course you are. Of course you are. And how. And how was that vacation? Because I do actually.
Camilla Luddington
You know what's so funny is, like, the whole, like, it's not a vacation. It's a trip with your kids. This is the first vacation that I actually was. I really felt, like, kind of relaxed with them. I think they're getting a little bit older. They can travel a little bit better. Usually on the last day of vacation with my children, I'm like, let's get the out of here. I'm done.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, Bags are already packed.
Camilla Luddington
The bags are packed. I'm like, get out.
Jessica Capshaw
We're not leaving until tomorrow. But I packed the bags.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you can't have another swim. We're going new. And this time I was, like, a little bit sad. But my dad was here. Martin Lutington was here. He's looking after the dog. So I came home to 20 water bowls.
Jessica Capshaw
Are they hydrated?
Camilla Luddington
They're hydrated. In fact, I didn't have a water bowl conversation when I came back home today. Or. Yeah, well, last night, he. It was a food bowl conversation. It was very quick, though. But he did have a. He had another suggestion. There's always suggestions.
Jessica Capshaw
Did you leave out the suggestion box?
Camilla Luddington
Well, I was too tired to close it. Too tired to close it. I forgot that I hadn't closed it. And he was like, darling, just a quick suggestion, by the way. It's like 2am I'm like, oh, my God. He's like, the dogs need their food bowls further apart. And then I don't. It's like a whole thing. I can't even get into it. I'm too tired. But I'm so happy. Jessica looks gorgeous on. On Zim today, and it's actually a shame that she looks so gorgeous. She was like, hey, do you want to, like, you know, let's put our cameras on? And I was like, no, Jess, I'm not putting my camera on today. I'm in a Dog mom sweatshirt. Literally says dog mom, and I look like I've been electrocuted.
Jessica Capshaw
It's not true. She's so wrong.
Camilla Luddington
It is true, dude. It is. Look at your camera. Anyway, we decided the best way to come back for our season two of this show.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. Let's call it season two.
Camilla Luddington
Season two.
Jessica Capshaw
That was a fan Q and A.
Camilla Luddington
And ask us anything. And you guys did. And some of these are absolutely amazing. Okay. Lexi asked us if, call it what it is, it had a mascot, what would it be? A question. Mm. What do you think it would be?
Jessica Capshaw
Well, I. You know, I did. Well, my kids were very sweet, but also a little sassy this morning. They're like. They would ask me a question, and I would be like, hmm. And I would, like, think and think and think. And they're like, you can't be very good on this podcast if this is how you do it. I was like, well, there's another person there. So we, you know, we workshop it. We figure it out. Mascot. I went straight to an animal, and I was like, animal. So what I came up with was, I like that. I mean, that's what I usually think of when. Because I think of a school. Like a school mascot. Yeah. And then I was thinking that I feel like. I feel like it would be a lion and a tiger, because I. I feel like I'm a lion and you're a tiger.
Camilla Luddington
So you get your Leo lion.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, but you're A tiger. Because you're gonna up. You're like. Whenever I'm like, no, no, it's okay. It's okay. Let's look at them from their perspective. You're like.
Camilla Luddington
Or, okay, what about this? What if it's like a half? The front is a lie. The back end is a horse because I'm Sagittarius. And so it's a lor.
Jessica Capshaw
Is it the Lord?
Camilla Luddington
The mascot is a Lores or a high on.
Jessica Capshaw
It could be a horse head and a lion Tush.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. What is. What looks better? Is it kind of, like, lame if the line's like, rawr. And then the back of him is like a horse? But yeah, like, not. Yeah. I don't know. But it's a combo.
Jessica Capshaw
It's a combo.
Camilla Luddington
I think that's great. I love that because we're both really.
Jessica Capshaw
We have. We actually have. You've got to have some lion in your chart.
Camilla Luddington
I do, actually. I do. Yeah, I do. I'm Leo rising.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
You clocked it.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, you. I see. I see. I see it in you. I see it in you. No, because we're both super duper, duper loyal.
Camilla Luddington
We are very loyal. Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. So I would say, like, because, you know, you. I think that we. We. We aspire to. And also demonstrate strong strength and. And. And loyalty and.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
And also, like, a little bit of.
Camilla Luddington
Don'T with me, you know? Okay, here's. Here's. I love the lors. I do think it's a loss. The first thing that popped into my head was just a giant burger because of Burger Gate. Like a burger with legs. But I was like, but we're not. Like, it works for the. For us becoming friends, but it doesn't. You know, it's not. We're not the Food Network.
Jessica Capshaw
No.
Camilla Luddington
And then the next thing that jumped into my head was, do you remember the Pepsi ad with Beyonce and Britney and Pink when they were gladiators? They were hot, sexy gladiators.
Jessica Capshaw
Ish. I remember this.
Camilla Luddington
Ish. Wow. Seriously?
Jessica Capshaw
Well, it's not an episode if I don't remember something.
Camilla Luddington
Well, it was iconic, and they were cool. Gladiator. And I pictured us as like a gla. Like a gladiator. I know, but the lorce is better.
Jessica Capshaw
I know, but I could see us as gladiators. I could. Maybe that's our next. Our next marketing. Our next marketing push is Gladiator. Yeah, Gladiator chic.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, Gladiator chic. Let's bring it back. Hey there. Have you heard about legends.com it's an awesome free to play social casino and sportsbook.

We've all experienced being put on hold. The annoying music, the automated message. It's excruciating. And right now, America's seniors are on hold waiting for nutritious meals and moments of connection. Waiting for America to care. Due to a growing aging population, rising costs and insufficient funding, Meals on Wheels programs are experiencing higher need than ever before. Currently, one in three Meals on Wheels providers has a wait list with an average wait time of four months. This wait is especially ridiculous because a proven solution already exists as Meals on Wheels remains the most effective and financially responsible solution to address senior hunger and isolation. Answer the call and help Meals on Wheels serve every senior who needs us. Meals on Wheels Network volunteers and staff are currently assisting over 2 million seniors annually, but millions more still need our help. Only 1% of philanthropic donations in the US go towards senior causes. Meals on Wheels America has a plan to end the wait to eliminate all wait lists and ensure every senior who needs Meals on Wheels gets it. It's up to you to help us make it a reality. Answer the call and help end the wait by donating at mealsonwheelsamerica.org donate hi Zoe Saldana.

Jessica Capshaw
Were there any grays plot lines for your character that you didn't like? I, you know the short answer would be no.
Camilla Luddington
Right?
Jessica Capshaw
Like there's always a reason that you had a storyline and it's, it is where it is and it lives in history and I'm fine with that. I mean like, like I didn't like the plane crash. Was it like.
Camilla Luddington
No, this is great. No, did not.
Jessica Capshaw
Like I didn't like the season, you know, this. And then the season came after that was tough for Arizona. That was like not a lot of, not a lot of bubbles and rainbows in there.
Camilla Luddington
No, not a fun season.
Jessica Capshaw
No. No, that was not fun.
Camilla Luddington
I didn't like when Stephanie and Joe were fighting. Sometimes like those, you know, you don't want your characters to be in beef with a best friend and I thought it, you know, kind of soured their friendship. Yeah, I would pick that. Stacy, what is your current watch for a series or a movie?
Jessica Capshaw
I don't know why this stumps me so much. I mean I'm watching because I watch with the kids all the time. So I'm watching like five different things because I just sit and like, yeah, chill with them. Right. So at this, at current time, I'm watching Pretty Little Liars season one. I'm watching Modern Family season five million. I'm watching I dip in and out of of what else is it? Well, Eve is pretty much like, she shows me the hand when I come to jail. She's Companion television watching.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, she's right now. Okay. Okay.
Jessica Capshaw
Luke will watch a movie with me. He. He was. He. He was. He used to be like Eve. And now he's come around. They come around everyone. So we'll watch stuff. But I. I gotta say, I don't know that I've. I really want to watch Sirens.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, yeah. I want to watch Sirens. I. You know what? I like to pick a documentary. I am watching the Valley right now, which you need to get into. It's, of course, Bravo. And there's drama. And I love it. I love it. I love it because I also live in the Valley, so it's like, I feel like they're my friends and to lunch together, but they just don't know me. And then I started the documentary about the Titan submarine, and I got the heebie jeebies, and I. Oh, I've heard.
Jessica Capshaw
A friend of mine also watched that.
Camilla Luddington
It's too. Like, I can't. There's something. It. It just creeps me out too much, and so I had to stop. But I might get back into it because I do love a good documentary.
Jessica Capshaw
I know you do.
Camilla Luddington
I do. Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. Oh, I like this one. If you had one superpower, what would it be?
Camilla Luddington
Oh, I mean, that's easy. I would fly.
Jessica Capshaw
You wouldn't teleport.
Camilla Luddington
I would heal. Are you serious?
Jessica Capshaw
I wish you could see the face that she just got and the hand motion. She just did, like, wax on, wax off with her hands.
Camilla Luddington
I did, like, a first.
Jessica Capshaw
Hands with her hands. She would.
Camilla Luddington
I. I thought that when. Here's what I thought was gonna happen. I thought I was gonna say I would heal, and Jessica was gonna, like, o. Come on. That is really amazing and, like, really kind of selfless. Because you could pick flying, but you've picked to heal people, and instead she's piercing her pants, dude. What are you gonna pick? Something selfish. I would look. I would look so gorgeous forever. I'm busy over here healing the world. Come on, then.
Jessica Capshaw
I can't. Okay.
Camilla Luddington
I don't know. I seriously don't know why it was so funny. Honestly. It's a self.
Jessica Capshaw
I think it was your face, and it was the hand motion. It was just like. You really wanted me to, like, stop for this moment. I reached. It was like. You knew you were gonna say something selfless. You didn't just say something selfless.
Camilla Luddington
Well, I wanted you to really get that. Envision it. So what I did. Because I'm not recording today, because I look crazy. What I did is I reached my hand out to the camera. So just could. So it just did get healed through the zoom.
Jessica Capshaw
I saw the palm of her hand, and she blessed me with it.
Camilla Luddington
I blessed you? I don't understand. What is yours?
Jessica Capshaw
Okay, well, now that we've gotten that out of our system, my superpower that I was thinking about would be to. I mean, now we can't take it seriously.
Camilla Luddington
You can't take it seriously.
Jessica Capshaw
Okay, so at the top of my list would be teleportation.
Camilla Luddington
Selfish.
Jessica Capshaw
How do you know that I wouldn't. I wasn't teleporting to go save someone.
Camilla Luddington
Well, how are you helping the world with teleporting yourself?
Jessica Capshaw
What if I'm getting somewhere really fast so I can help someone real quick? Because they need me.
Camilla Luddington
No, you. They need me. See, you're gonna get there. Okay, so someone's hurt.
Jessica Capshaw
This is where the lors comes in. They need both of us.
Camilla Luddington
No, you're gonna teleport and they're gonna be like, oh, my God, my arm came off.
Jessica Capshaw
You get on my back and I'll teleport and you can then heal.
Camilla Luddington
Okay, I can piggyback on you. But if it's just you teleporting and someone's arms come off, what are you gonna do when you land?
Jessica Capshaw
Nothing.
Camilla Luddington
I. I could actually do something. This is.
Jessica Capshaw
No, you're just. Okay, anyways, Inserting yourself in people's business. I'm teleporting to where I need to be. It's none of your business where I.
Camilla Luddington
Need to be, by the way.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm teleporting to be where I need to be. And then the runner up would be that I could stop time. Okay, stop, stop.
Zoe Saldana
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
This is ridiculous. Oh, God.
Jessica Capshaw
I found out I got a guest part, and I'm not joking. I think I got down on my knees and kissed the ground. I was so excited.
Camilla Luddington
I. Okay. When I found out I got the role, I. Yeah, I basically kissed the ground too. Are you kidding me? I was so. I was floored. It was. It honestly happened so fast too, that it sort of was like an out of body experience. And then when you land on that set and it really looks like a hospital, it really does feel like it's.
Jessica Capshaw
An out of body experience.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
And it's all just so well set up. So you're like, okay, okay, here we go.
Camilla Luddington
You're not on social media like I am, but Bethany Frankel right now is doing a series on her tick tock called Supermodel Snacks. And I swear to God, every single one looks amazing. That's what I'm doing. I'm watching Bethany Frankel's supermodel snacks and I'm making them.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, you're making super. Well, okay. I. Snacky wise, when we go. We actually have started just buying eight bags. We've. @ first we were like, I'll just buy one or two, but then we just realized, this is silly. Let's not pretend that we're not eating 11 bags of the Trader Joe's. Organic. They're like organic Takis. They're like the Takis, but they're. Oh, yeah, organic version, whatever.
Camilla Luddington
So good.
Jessica Capshaw
We've been eating a lot of those. And then also the. The good culture cottage cheese. Oh, I love it. Yum, yum, yum.
Camilla Luddington
It's really good.
Jessica Capshaw
Sometimes I dip a taki into some cottage cheese.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, that's gonna gross people out.
Jessica Capshaw
I don't know.
Camilla Luddington
No, no, no. I don't think so. I don't.
Jessica Capshaw
Spicy little. Yeah, works for me. Yeah. And then also, I have to say, I. I'm loving the little protein snack packs, especially now that I'm, like, going into work and I need to grab something. Yeah, yeah.
Camilla Luddington
They're so good to me, though. It has to be the cashew one.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, okay.
Camilla Luddington
Has to have the cashews in it.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh. And I really, really. I found a. I don't normally like bars. I. I'm just not a bar person. And I feel like I've just always been sold this idea that a bar is a meal replacement. And I'm like, no, I'd like a bar and then I'd like a meal. So I. They're called Bare Bells, and they are actually delicious in every flavor. But I really like the cookie dough one. And it tastes. I mean, I don't even know how to explain, but it tastes really, really, really good. And I'm. I feel like I keep hearing about these David's bars.
Camilla Luddington
No, I haven't tried those, but, yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
I've been needing to get food a little bit more on the go because life's just been a little more unpredictable and on the go. And so I've been trying to figure out the things that are a little more portable.
Camilla Luddington
I like this. Listen, everybody needs portable snacks. Hello.
Jessica Capshaw
Yep, yep, yep, yep. Okay. What's the favorite country? What's your favorite country? Beatrice is wanting to know what the favorite country you've been to is.
Camilla Luddington
Wow, that's hard.
Jessica Capshaw
Easy for me.
Camilla Luddington
Is it where?
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah, France, because France has Paris. I mean, I could also say Italy because Italy has Rome and Florence, but either One of those.
Camilla Luddington
My favorite country. I loved Portugal. I haven't been there since I was little, but I love Portugal. I love Spain. Love Spain. I don't know. That's hard. Emmy asks, do you think you two would have been friends in high school?
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, if there was more than 100, which there isn't. Yes.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. I wonder if you would have gotten.
Jessica Capshaw
A lot of trouble.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. Oh. The problem is, is we first off, if we had been in class together, we would have failed.
Jessica Capshaw
0% chance of learning anything.
Camilla Luddington
No. 0. So much note sending.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, my gosh. It would be so much fun, though.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, yeah, it would be. Yeah.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, my God.
Camilla Luddington
There's no reason we wouldn't have been friends.
Jessica Capshaw
No, we would have had.
Camilla Luddington
And. And we would have been. Yeah, we would have been great friends.
Jessica Capshaw
There's this show called Alexa and Katie, and it's so, so, so good. And it's about these best friends that are truly. It's just the most remarkable example of friendship. And I think when we talk to the crew and when we hear from everyone and when we think about. Or when I think about my life, I think, you know, where would you be without these incredible female friendships that you have? Or even just friendships. Right. They have an incredible, incredible friendship. And they live next door to each other and they have a tree house in between them, and they meet in the tree house. And I always think, like, oh, my gosh, like, if we lived on the same street and we could, like, meet in between, I think that our families would be like, like, where did they go?
Camilla Luddington
Oh, my God. Can you imagine an adult tree house for us? I had, like, some wine in there and some snacks. Like, I'm like, somehow you had a mini fridge in there.
Jessica Capshaw
You had, like an adult. This sounds like, you know, X rated. But if you had, like an adult house in between your two family houses. Yeah, meet me in the adult house.
Camilla Luddington
Exactly right. Oh, my God. This is a great.
Jessica Capshaw
Maybe this is a thing. Maybe this is a thing you build. Yeah, it's an. It's an annex. It's an annex. Yes. It's like a room inside of a bridge.
Camilla Luddington
Yes.
Jessica Capshaw
Come meet me in the adult house.
Camilla Luddington

We've all experienced being put on hold. The annoying music, the automated message. It's excruciating. And right now, America's seniors are on hold. Waiting for nutritious meals and moments of connection. Answer the call and help Meals on Wheels serve every senior who needs us Meals on Wheels Network volunteers and staff are currently assisting over 2 million seniors annually. But millions more still need our help. Only 1% of philanthropic donations in the US go towards senior causes. Meals on Wheels America has a plan to end the wait to eliminate all wait lists and ensure every senior who needs Meals on Wheels gets it. It's up to you to help us make it a reality. Jessica Capshaw
Julie asked if you could work with Camilla again in any genre of film or tv. Which one would you choose? Comedy.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, my God, please. Me and Jess doing like a sort of like bridesmaids or just. Or like a hangover.
Jessica Capshaw
I see us doing like being in some situation where it's like everything is turned on its side.
Camilla Luddington
Yes.
Jessica Capshaw
And. And, and we're in like an alter universe and we have to figure our way out of it.
Camilla Luddington
That's. Yes. Yeah, exactly. It would have to be a comedy. Are you kidding? Yeah. Or it's like we're superheroes, but we're like shitty. Like we're crap. Like we're just bad at the job. Honestly. This is really.
Jessica Capshaw
You're on one today about healing and superhero status.
Camilla Luddington
Well, I mean. Well, yeah. Okay. Colleen, all time favorite Taylor Swift song, Long Live, I think out of the Woods.
Jessica Capshaw
Love that one.
Camilla Luddington
It's so good. It comes on, you're like, yeah, let's go.
Jessica Capshaw
I also really like the 10 minute Jake Gyllenhaal one.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah. About the scarf. Yeah, give it back. That scarf.
Jessica Capshaw
That's what it's called. You're gonna. You're gonna appreciate this about. You're gonna appreciate this about me.
Camilla Luddington
God. What? This, this, this podcast is a mess.
Jessica Capshaw
Okay. So, you know, I go to Nashville and of course I'm like, working. But then there was a. There was. And so I'm. I'm working, but I'm commuting. I'm going, you know, back and forth from New York to Nashville. And I, I had a week where I was working on a Friday and a Monday. And so there really wasn't time to go home to New York. And so I stayed and then I went with my friend for a walk in this beautiful park called Percy Warner park. And we're like, walking along, and we're talking and saving the. You know, solving the world's problems and about this on the other. And I look up, and there's a couple. There's a two women walking towards me. And I was like, oh, there's Nicole Kidman. And I was like, nicole, stop.
Camilla Luddington
Is this real? Is a dream, or is this a real thing? Do you know Nicole Kidman?
Jessica Capshaw
Hi. And I was like, hi.
Camilla Luddington
Do you know her?
Jessica Capshaw
Yes, I.
Camilla Luddington
You guys, this is what. This is like. What is so strange about being friends with Jessica Capshaw? Okay, this. These are not normal conversations whatsoever. And Jessica. So Jessica's like, just having this conversation on this podcast right now since her life, and she's like. So I was like, oh, my God, Cheryl. I know Cheryl Crow. So I'll just, like, text her real quick. It's like, I know nobody ever. And. And Jessica always like, this is not normal.
Jessica Capshaw
This is.
Camilla Luddington
But this is what I love about you. Because I am cool by association.
Jessica Capshaw
No, but it's not even. Like, I think I'm cool, and I think that that's the thing that I think. And I would. I don't know if anyone el. Receive it this way, but the reason that. But the way that it's intended is, like, I think I. They're just people that I know in my life. And so when I was walking down the street and I see this huge storefront for Draper James, I'm like, oh, my gosh, my friend Reese's store is here, and it's so big. It's so beautiful. And I've been texting with her because she lives in Nashville, too. And so she had all the tips and tricks, and I was like, okay, so what do I do here and how do I go?
Camilla Luddington
What.
Jessica Capshaw
What neighborhood do you think? And what's the best? This place. You know, all that. So I felt very helped by people. But every time I would think of someone, I did think it was.
Camilla Luddington
It was famous in the new. Like, you're like, oh, my God, Oprah.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah. Then I was like, oprah, yeah, for sure. So, yeah. So I'm putting together a dinner. I'm putting together a dinner.
Camilla Luddington
I'll send you a picture. I'm not part of. Can't wait for that. That's great. Skyler asked if you could refilm one Grace episode, what would it be and why?
Jessica Capshaw
My answer would be, I wouldn't. Yeah, they're all perfectly imperfect. You know, I mean, I watch it, and there's definitely things where I'm like, oh, like, about whatever. Fill in the blank. But I think that they're, you know, life isn't perfect and it's not supposed to be. And so they were what they were, and I respect them for what they are. Those episodes.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I agree.
Jessica Capshaw
Okay. Tatiana asked, if you had to switch lives for a day, what's the first thing you do as each other?
Camilla Luddington
You first. Oh, my God. That's a great question. Okay. Oh, oh, oh. I would take out all of your jewelry and I would wear every single piece.
Jessica Capshaw
All at once.
Camilla Luddington
Yeah, the whole. Yeah, everything.
Jessica Capshaw
I was gonna say I would go shopping.
Camilla Luddington
Oh, yeah. But hang on. The stuff. Would you. Would you get to keep it when you went back to your library? Is it mine?
Jessica Capshaw
No, it's mine. I ordered it. I was you for the day and I ordered it. Or I bought it and then I took it home to my house. I'll bring a backpack when I'm you for the day. Or are you haul.
Camilla Luddington
I'm gonna also wait. No, no. That is. I do like that. I do like spending your money. For sure.
Jessica Capshaw
Yeah.
Camilla Luddington
Hermes, here I come.
Jessica Capshaw
Here we go.
Camilla Luddington
Okay, this is the last question. Jess, this is a serious one. I don't want you to really think about it.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm gonna.
Camilla Luddington
Okay. Ashley asked, if there was a zombie apocalypse, would you trust each other to stay alive?
Jessica Capshaw
Absolutely.
Camilla Luddington
You're not gonna like my answer.
Jessica Capshaw
Oh, wow.
Camilla Luddington
Here's the thing about you. In a zombie apocalypse, I think I'd be quite good because I think I'd be like, I'd make quick decisions. Right? Like, we're gonna head. You're a little bit of a planner, and I think that you'd be like, wait, let's really think about this. If we have to run to the mall, then. And then go to this car and then into this bunker. And by the time you're done blabbing on about the plan, we've been bitten. I am quite quick. I'd be like, grab your bag. We're just gonna go run over there first. And then, you know, like, I can. But you liked to really sort of of plan more. And I think that would get us killed.
Jessica Capshaw
Okay. All right. I don't have a response.
Camilla Luddington
You don't? Because you know it's true. And that's fine.
Jessica Capshaw
I'm listening to what you're saying. Yeah. Two things can be true. You can think that I can know the ninja mode that I go into when gets real. And I've got cat like reflexes.
Camilla Luddington
I'm watching you do the moves to cat like reflexes. And I honestly, I feel like for sure we die.
Jessica Capshaw
No.
Camilla Luddington
Like I'm less sold.
Jessica Capshaw
No, no, no, no. I do not accept your answer.
Camilla Luddington
Are you telling me that you are a little type A? You're telling me I am very good.
Jessica Capshaw
In an emergency, which is why I feel that I would be very good in a zombie apocalypse.
Camilla Luddington
You would be get up and go. Yes. You wouldn't have to just have a quick conversation about it.
Jessica Capshaw
No. There's no time for thinking. You could die.
Camilla Luddington
Okay.
Jessica Capshaw
Look at me like that. Die, die, dead.
Camilla Luddington
Okay. I thought honestly, she would get us killed with all her planning.
Jessica Capshaw
Nope. I'm gonna whip out some surprise moves.
Camilla Luddington
She says she's stealthy like a cat when there's zombies around.
Jessica Capshaw
I've got some surprise. You know what? You're not the only one that's got a move moves.
Camilla Luddington
Wow. Good for you. Yours just come out in a zombie apocalypse. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
Jessica Capshaw
All right, well, I couldn't be happier to be with you. I've learned a lot about myself and you today. Which is what, you know, bonus to this is to having a podcast together. And some of it's been good, some of it not so good it. But you know, that's what conversation and repair is for.
Camilla Luddington
Let's call it Jess the end of the episode.
