There was a time when low representation was a norm but times are changing (thank goodness–I mean there is still a lot of work to do, but slow progress is still progress nonetheless). Companies are starting to realize they need to prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion or they will be out of talent. In this month’s speaker series podcast episode that is exactly what we are talking about!I had the privilege of interviewing Adriele Parker. She is a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) thought partner with over 13 years of combined experience in DEI strategy, recruiting, learning and development, career development, and coaching. She specializes in agile DEI strategy development & implementation, inclusive leadership development, employee resource groups (ERGs), and inclusive team dynamics. She has a particular interest in building inclusive workplaces and reducing systemic barriers that affect the success of marginalized populations. Outside of DEI, Adriele is passionate about family & friends, her pup (@rouxthelilpoo), supporting other Black women, cooking (please send recipes!), investing, and upcycling clothing.During our chat, she talks about why representation matters and what to do to push your organization if it’s missing.Episode LinksGuest Speaker: Adriele Parker @adrieleparkerWorking With Adriele: https://linktr.ee/adrieleparker About Merete FieldsMerete helps professional women of color purposely and successfully pivot their careers and navigate workplace challenges.Visit her website: MereteFields.comSocial: @meretefieldsResourcesNeed to dust that resume off?
