Today I give some personal updates, then get straight into everything happening right now on the internet! The Justin Timberlake arrest video, Edward Norton’s new movie, and Shia LaBeouf back in the headlines again. I also get into the Chappell Roan fan drama, the Laguna Beach reunion, whatever is going on with the Big Little Lies spinoff, and some sad news involving Buffy and the director of Urban Legend and lots more!

This week I talk about finding a new band (Motel Mira) that hit an old nerve, like The Adventures of Pete & Pete kind of music nostalgia, growing up around bands and shows, and why Tell Me Lies using Modest Mouse’s The Good Times Are Killing Me felt perfect. 🌙🎶

I am joined by the amazing Kevin the Movie Critic to go in depth about Girl Meers World, Boy Meets World and all the lore that comes along with it. We geta visit from Shawn Hunter and the Mathews parents! I'm not sure how we talked for over an hour about a thirty-minute sitcom, but we did, and it was glorious! The Matthews family and Shawn visit for Christmas. Topanga tries to impress Amy with her cooking while Riley tries to work on her relationship with Shawn.

Patreon Throwback!!!! New guest Andrew, Steven and I are jumping into the secret code Gen z is speaking and texting in! We try hard to understand the nuances of Gen Z's "secret language," which can often shift and evolve rapidly, driven by trends, memes, and the ever-changing landscape of digital culture. From passive aggressive punctuation to full blown ghosting, let's get into it! *OG Air date 8/9/2024*

In this episode I take Stick Stickly way too seriously and you should too. Summer isn't over until the popsicle sings so let's take a look back at Stick, Nick in the summer and the great voice actor Paul Christie. Enjoy ;)

Sep 10, 2022* Patreon Release* I'm joined by friend of the pod Derek Weber of Derek Weber Scary Stories to discussthe 1997 thriller, I Know What You Did Last Summer! "Julie eventually discovered that Ben had in fact murdered David Egan, who they originally thought was the person they hit. Ben's daughter, Susie Willis, was killed in a car crash that David managed to survive. Blaming David, Ben went and killed him. After the murder, he was on his way home when the teens hit him". This has potential to be one of the most convoluted and simultaneously well executed plots ever. Enjoy!

Julia Roberts, a lobster claw, and a whole lotta chaos! This week, Steven and I sit down for a riff-filled watch of My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997), the rom-com that dares to ask: what if the villain was actually the lead?Grab your popcorn and hit play as we laugh through Julianne’s wildly unhinged sabotage tactics, marvel at Cameron Diaz’s surprisingly killer karaoke scene, and try to make sense of that “I Say a Little Prayer” singalong that somehow became iconic. This is a watch-along track, so queue up your copy of the movie and get ready for some nostalgic chaos, 90s fashion breakdowns, and a sprinkle of unfiltered commentary. Let’s get drenched… in delusion!

In this episode I team up with Max from Measuring Flicks to unravel the complexities of the Manic Pixie Dream Girl archetype through the lens of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Is Clementine just another quirky MPDG, or does she break the mold in Charlie Kaufman's surreal masterpiece? Join us as we dive into memory, identity, and the cinematic tropes that shape our perceptions of love and individuality. Expect deep analysis, a touch of drama, and plenty of laughs along the way!

*Join Cassandra Explains It All Patreon for more exclusive content*This week, we’re heading back to the cursed waters of I Still Know What You Did Last Summer — the tropical sequel that asks, "What if trauma, but make it a vacation?" Join Cassandra, Steven, and Andrew as we break down the stormy logic, the karaoke clue that lives in our heads rent-free, and Brandy being the only person with survival instincts. Press play with us or just listen along as we try to make sense of the most tropical slasher ever made.

Patreon Preview! In this episode Alison from Past Foot Forward joins me for a nostalgic deep dive into one of the most iconic episodes of Boy Meets World—"Heartbreak Cory." We’re doing a full watch-along, breaking down every dramatic moment, from Cory’s ski lodge betrayal to Topanga’s heartbreak, and of course, the infamous Lauren letter. We also talk about Disney and some behind-the-scenes trivia! Enjoy ;)
