For those who have been keeping up with traitors, we have a big guest on today, Boston Rob. Also, if you're a Survivor fan, he was also on Dealer no Deal island in all the reality shows. He is on today's episode. Super, super excited to talk to him. We also have popcorn are going to be taking your voicemails. But first, how we doing on this on this lovely afternoon?
Rhea
Wonderful. Besides, it's just, it's just so, it's so cold.
Boston Rob
Are you getting like middle school vibes though when you step outside and like you know the snow is there and you know it's like a little dirty kind of. And you step outside and like just the smell in the air, it smells like middle school. Think of middle school like a snow day in middle school.
Rhea
Oh, oh, oh. Maybe if we didn't like if we could have stayed home or just like.
Boston Rob
You should have had a snow day but you're getting in the car to go to school.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
You know what I mean?
Rhea
Yes.
Noah
Like yesterday felt like a half day because no one was in the office and yeah.
Rhea
Us and it was I snowing. It's just, I mean it's, the snow is just, it's fun in the moment. Like I like when it's actually actively snowing in the city but like the day after, not fun. Because half, like, the buildings take control of their sidewalks, and, like, half don't. So, like, it's a dangerous walk to work for me where I'm like. If I take one. One false step and I'm slipping on the ice on the sidewalk because it is so cold and people don't ice. Like, the. Some buildings don't ice their sidewalks. They just let it. They just let it. A layer of ice just freeze on top of. On top of the sidewalks. So that's. I like. I, like, pack different shoes to walk to work in.
Boston Rob
That's fair to.
Rhea
To change into because it is. It's cold. But it's like, I see the temperature here. I'm like, oh, my God, it's cold. But then I see, like, how it's been recently in Chicago or, like, Joe's mom's in Minneapolis right now. Negative one.
Boston Rob
Oh, my God.
Rhea
Real feel. Negative 32.
Boston Rob
Jeez.
Rhea
I'm like, that's. I just imagine you take one step outside, you're frozen solid.
Boston Rob
Your body just like.
Rhea
It's like. It's like. Like, you know, in. Isn't it day after tomorrow when you, like, step. When he just completely freeze. Yeah, that's what I'm envisioning, like, at that temperature.
Boston Rob
That would make me want to never, ever step outside.
Rhea
Like. Yeah, I know.
Boston Rob
You don't want to leave your home when it's this cold.
Rhea
No, you really, really, really don't. It is. Which has been conducive for a lot of, like, inside TV time.
Boston Rob
That's true. A lot of TV time. A lot of coziness, like, cozy food. It's around that time of the year for that.
Noah
I was just about to say, there's nothing better than, like, it's really cold outside, but your apartment's nice and warm. And then I. I was gonna stop myself from saying, oh, because I don't.
Boston Rob
Have heat or hot water. Hot water, yeah. That's a thing that's. I mean, to have.
Rhea
Yeah, I like.
Boston Rob
I. I mean, we have no choice but to laugh at this. That the coldest week of the year, I don't have heat or hot water.
Rhea
Still, since I'd be thrilled if I can fit like you.
Boston Rob
Hasn't been the. Our heat hasn't worked since December, and they said that they had to order a part and that it would take a while to come in. And for our. Our apartment unit, like, the heat works in the building. It's just our unit. There's a part in our unit where the heat doesn't work. They said they had to order a part that was back in December. The part's still not here. They said it probably won't be fixed until, like, Valentine's Day. I'm like, valentine's Day's gonna be, like, 45 degrees at that point. I don't even need it. And the hot water in the building is still not working. There was a delay because of the holiday yesterday to fix it and get the part. I don't know. We haven't received an update. We haven't had hot water since Friday. It's Tuesday now, so we're. We're sticking with the.
Rhea
It's crazy.
Boston Rob
Ice cold. Ah. You know. Yeah, it's crazy. Coldest week of the year. But, you know, we're pushing. We're pushing through it.
Rhea
It is. It's making me also. I've had so much. So much soup. I've done nothing, but I think I've had a soup, like, every day for the last week, various meals.
Boston Rob
It's the. It's the time for soup.
Rhea
It really is. It really is. Nothing tastes better than a nice soup on a cold day.
Boston Rob
Yes. Made chili last night. I sent it to you because you're a big chili fan.
Rhea
I actually ordered chili after you sent me a picture of the chili.
Boston Rob
Oh, I was. I was gonna bring in leftover chili for you today.
Rhea
And then you didn't.
Boston Rob
I wanted to eat it tonight for myself. I only had one little Tupperware left. And then I was like, oh, that's so fun. I was like, you know what?
Rhea
Order chili.
Boston Rob
I was like, I want to have this tonight. I'm gonna make sloppy Joes with it, with the leftover chili. I'm gonna make some sloppy Joe. Sloppy Joes as a kid was something I was, like, embarrassed to admit that I ate. Like, I ate a lot of meatloaf as a kid. A lot of sloppy Joes. Like, these are the kind of meals my parents would make. But you, like, don't go to school bragging about sloppy Joes. You know what I mean?
Noah
Why?
Boston Rob
No, I. It's just a thing. I know Hannah G. Hannah G. Has talked about this a lot, too, online. Like, we have bonded about this in.
Noah
Real life because of the name.
Boston Rob
I think it's just the name of it. I don't even know it's a thing as a kid. You get, like, embarrassed about the stupidest things as a kid.
Rhea
Yeah, that is true. I. I'm kind of an outlier on the whole sloppy Joe thing, because I don't know if it's, like, A regional thing or a North Jersey thing. I'm going to need my North Jersey people to, to, to rise up with me on this one. But like we called sloppy Joes were like different types of sandwiches. Like, you're like a sloppy Joe. You're thinking of like chili, the ground beef, like on a, on a roll. When growing up, for me, like, a sloppy joe was like a meat coleslaw, Russian dressing, Swiss cheese. On a sandwich, like I, I'm like, I grew a turkey. Sloppy Joe is like my go to. I learned that I love a turkey sloppy Joe.
Boston Rob
I learned that from the Milburn Deli, New Jersey. They call sloppy Joe something different.
Rhea
I've had that still, which is why it's like. And then I sell. I, I'll tell people like, oh, I'm gonna get a sloppy Joe. And they're like a sloppy Joe.
Boston Rob
And see, that's the reaction to a show.
Rhea
And I'm like, oh, no. Like a turkey. Turkey and coleslaw with Russian dressing and Swiss cheese. And they're like, that's not a sloppy Joe. I'm like, where I'm from, that is a sloppy Joe.
Boston Rob
That's what they, they do call sloppy Joes where you're from. Yeah, I, I know a different sloppy Joe with the. But that is the reaction when you say you're getting a sloppy Joe. People are like, sloppy Joe.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
I got no shame in loving a sloppy Joe. Both ways, both sloppy Joes.
Rhea
I think sometimes, like when you walk into a deli or something you don't like, the first thing on your mind is that like, like sloppy Joe, you know?
Boston Rob
So that's when people order a sloppy Joe at the deli, unless it was the one you were ordering, which is.
Rhea
Why when I say it, people are like, what?
Boston Rob
Right? Like. Or you're getting ground beef on a hamburger roll. Yeah, totally feel that.
Rhea
No, but I'm, I'm. Yeah. So like turkey. Like a turkey sloppy Joe. The version I'm talking about, it's probably one of my all time favorite sandwiches.
Boston Rob
Those rock as well. Those are awesome. They're so good.
Rhea
Yeah. A nice piece of rye. Oof.
Boston Rob
Delicious. You're talking about Milburn Deli.
Rhea
Yeah, I mean, yes, I am talking about Miller Deli, but a lot of delis around that area all kind of like do. There's. I actually went to a spot in Jupiter over the, the holidays that had, they had them and it actually called it a sloppy Joe. Really? And it was like you could choose turkey or roast beef.
Boston Rob
Wow.
Rhea
Oh my God, it was so Good.
Boston Rob
Well, that's good to know. It's spreading so good.
Rhea
So I don't know. That's like. I don't know if that. I've always had people be like, that's not a sloppy Joe, but that.
Boston Rob
For.
Rhea
For me. For me, it is so.
Boston Rob
Well, that's talking now.
Rhea
I'm.
Boston Rob
Now I'm hungry for a sloppy joke.
Rhea
I know.
Boston Rob
Have you ever. This is moving on. Have you ever successfully used find my iPhone? Like, have lost something and you use find my iPhone and have found it?
Rhea
No, my mom. No. But I literally. I don't think I've ever, like, lost my phone.
Boston Rob
My mom had a very spot on successful use of find my iPhone that I honestly was impressed with technology yesterday. Yeah, my mom and my aunt and my sister, whatever, they all went to brunch on Sunday, and my mom wore her Apple watch. And at some point, my mom lost her Apple watch. Took her two days to realize that she couldn't find her watch. She's like, wait, I don't know where my Apple watch went. And my dad's like, well, when's the last time you had it on? She's like, I don't remember. Did you have it on at brunch? I think so. Like, she couldn't. She couldn't remember where this Apple watch went or. And my sister just bought her a new one for Christmas. So the whole house is freaking out now. How can you do this to Nicole? She just bought you a new watch. Da, da, da, da, da. This whole thing, everyone's freaking out. They use find my iPhone to pinpoint this watch, and it gives them the exact address of a house. So now you're thinking to yourself, okay, this watch is at a house, right? So she must have. Is a house near where the brunch place was. So she either left at the brunch place or situation. Someone found it on the sidewalk and brought it back to their home.
Rhea
Right.
Boston Rob
So they drove.
Rhea
It's just so interesting because it's, like, strapped to your wrist, right?
Boston Rob
It just fell off her wrist somewhere. I don't know. I think maybe she got a little tipsy at French. The watch falls. Someone finds it, brings it back to their house. My parents get in the car and drive to this person's house because, I mean, at that point that you kind of have to. They knock on the door. No answer.
Rhea
Risky.
Boston Rob
Very risky. Have to get the watch.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah. Knock on the door again.
Boston Rob
It's a stranger's house, but, you know, our parents live in a time where like, that that was normal to do was to knock on people's houses. Like, you know, because without phones and stuff, everyone just knocked on each other's doors. So they just knocked on the door. A woman ends up answering. And my dad's like, oh, my wife lost her watch. Da, da, da, da, da. And she's like, well, what's your phone number? And my dad's like, what? Like, do you have. Do you know, like, the watch or. She's like, well, what's your phone number? My husband found the watch, but we don't have it anymore. And my dad's like, what? Okay, like, here's our phone number. If you end up finding this watch, then I guess let us know.
Rhea
They had gifted, like, regifted.
Boston Rob
Like, they were like, we don't have it anymore. So then my dad gets one.
Rhea
If it's been gifted, they have to call the person they gave it to.
Boston Rob
To get it back. Yeah, like, oh, we gave it away. My dad gets back into the car, and my mom's like, but wait, that. Find my iPhone is still saying, it's still here. It's at the address. It's inside. I know it's here.
Rhea
The call's coming from inside the house.
Boston Rob
So my dad's like. At first, my dad went to the door to knock because, you know, he didn't want my mom to do it, but now he knows it's a woman, so he's like, all right. So my mom. You go up there. Maybe she'll be more receiving to you. My mom goes up there, and she's like, oh, yeah, I have it on the dining room table. And then just gave my mom. Gave my mom the watch. It's like, did they not believe that.
Rhea
It was our story start to finish?
Boston Rob
No, it was. It was bizarre.
Rhea
It was like, how did your mom get. How did the. How did the watch get off your mom's wrist?
Boston Rob
I think.
Rhea
Where did these people find it? They took it home. You're the woman. Just didn't trust your dad.
Boston Rob
Did not trust my dad. Did not trust my dad to give him the watch. Said, they don't. They found the watch, but they don't have it anymore.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
And then when my mom went to the door, she was like, oh, yeah, we have it.
Rhea
She was like, this man, he doesn't deserve this watch.
Boston Rob
He doesn't deserve this watch. And then my mom goes up. I lost my watch. Can you please give it back to me? And then they finally give the watch back. But I more so was impressed with how spot on the Technology was that.
Rhea
It was like, this exact house. Yeah. Yep.
Boston Rob
They had the watch.
Rhea
My mom has definitely used it before, and it's been pretty accurate. The only times I think people in my family have had to use it as well. And it's been accurate. Like, until that it gets turned off, and now the phone's gone and right through the. But for the watch, though, I think it is. It is great.
Boston Rob
It was great.
Rhea
But more people who track their phones using their watch, which I know is a big thing.
Boston Rob
Bizarre all around, though. Bizarre scenario.
Rhea
Yeah. Yeah. That's just a. I'm. I'm not gonna lie. That story's gonna really sit with me for a little bit.
Boston Rob
It's bizarre. It is bizarre. When my parents called me to tell me the story, I was like, huh?
Rhea
Your dad just doesn't have that. Doesn't have the look like, I know I got. And I can't believe she said we don't have it.
Boston Rob
Well, she also said we had it, and now we don't. Yeah.
Rhea
Weird.
Boston Rob
I guess maybe she just didn't trust this random man at her door.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Yeah. And then when she saw my. My cute mom, she was like, okay, right? Fine. Here's the watch.
Rhea
And I guess, too, if you're. If your dad was like, my wife lost her watch, and, like, wife is nowhere to be seen.
Boston Rob
Right. You're. You're like your wife.
Rhea
Your wife.
Boston Rob
Right. The same way that my dad went up to the. To the door instead of my mom.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Yeah. Right. Because he didn't want my mom to go up and see who's in the house. Now, this was opposite. Now this woman seeing this random man and is like, well, I'm not giving him the watch.
Rhea
Well, you know, I'm glad that at the end of the day, your mom got her watch.
Boston Rob
I'm really glad my mom got her watch back too.
Rhea
That's. What a. Yeah. Keep that strap on tight.
Boston Rob
Yeah, she's got to lock that shit in a little bit more. We don't need this.
Rhea
Keep that strap on tight.
Boston Rob
We don't need this same scenario happening.
Rhea
No, I really probably just. Because I'm absolutely glued to my. Like, I know where my phone is at all times. Same on a night out. I've, like, lost even, like, on a night. Night out. I think I've lost my wallet. I've lost my purse, but my phone is. My phone's always on me. That's why I lost my phone in an Uber once.
Boston Rob
Ooh.
Rhea
I lost my phone in Uber once, but was with other people. And was able to track it down.
Boston Rob
Yeah, that's good.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
That's why I'm always hesitant when people have their wallets attached to their phone.
Rhea
Yeah, I know.
Boston Rob
You lose one, you lose just everything, you know, Lose it all in one.
Rhea
Yep.
Boston Rob
I always find that to be a little dangerous.
Rhea
I also think it's just like solely, visibly, like kind of like if you put your phone down on the counter and you're like at the bar, you have like credit cards sticking out of the back of your phone.
Boston Rob
Snatch it right now.
Rhea
Snatched. I used to have, I used to do that. Used to have one like that. But that was like. I mean, that's the college age years when you like didn't want to bring out a purse or like anything because you didn't want to have to lose anything. So it was like, yeah, phone, like id, credit card, boom, in and like you're. Then you're on the go. Ready to go, ready to. Ready to world. You got your phone in your pocket. That's all that matters, right?
Boston Rob
Only thing that matters.
Rhea
And not losing a. Not losing a purse anywhere. What I want. Oh. I wanted to wish for everybody that is a part of a fan of the series and reading Onyx Storm week. This is a big week for the fantasy girlies. The fourth Wing Imperium series. Yes. Fourth Wing Iron Flame. Onyx Storm came out.
Boston Rob
Wow. Today, the book.
Rhea
The 21st. Yes. The third.
Boston Rob
Did you pick it up?
Rhea
I gotta download on my Kindle, baby. It's ready to go. Ready to go. I actually was hoping it would. I pre ordered it on my Kindle and when I went to bed, it was like. Or I was getting ready for bed, it was after midnight and I was like, ooh, I'm gonna check to see if it's on there. Maybe I'll read a couple chapters before I go to bed. And it hadn't delivered yet. It was like, it's like an automatic. Oh, it'll automatically update on January 21st. I'm like, it's January 21st. But I don't know, maybe it's like they do west coast, maybe time or something. But it's on there now.
Boston Rob
There you go. Are you gonna start tonight or wait for the weekend?
Rhea
Yeah, no, I'm starting right away.
Boston Rob
Right away.
Rhea
Right away. Because.
Boston Rob
Are these books like at the end, like cliffhangers?
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Major.
Rhea
Yes. Yes.
Boston Rob
How long is it? Very long. Right?
Rhea
A big cliffhanger. Yeah. The second one was longer than the first one, but they're not. They're not crazy. Like a court of thorns. Those are long.
Boston Rob
Long.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like mist and Fury is. The book's this fat? Like, it's like. It's. It's big. Both Fourth Wing and Iron Flame are long for sure. Iron Flame definitely longer, but way, I think, more manageable. You can read them pretty. Pretty quickly.
Boston Rob
Do you think that they'll make these into movies? Yes, eventually.
Rhea
Yeah. I think it might already be in the process. I think it might already. Fourth Wing may be already. Like, that might be a tv. It depends. Yeah, I have no problem with it when they make it.
Boston Rob
What was that fairy TV show we watched on Netflix?
Rhea
Fate.
Boston Rob
Yes. Why am I blanking?
Rhea
Fate. Was it not called that?
Boston Rob
The Fates, The Fear? Was it the Winx?
Rhea
Yeah, that. That's another thing. But it was based on those.
Boston Rob
Fate.
Noah
The Winx Saga.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Fate, Right.
Boston Rob
Yeah, The Winx saga. Yes. I threw out all those words, just not in the same.
Rhea
We're just not in the right order.
Boston Rob
Not in the order that it was supposed to be.
Rhea
I don't know if they're making it a TV show or. Yeah, 4th Wing is gonna be a TV show, and I. And the ACOTAR series, I believe, is also going to be a TV show. A lot of them, they haven't been making them movies tv. They've been getting the TV show. The TV show adaption.
Boston Rob
I find that to be more interesting.
Rhea
The TV shows, it gives them a lot more. Or like a bill that gives them a better ability to really stick to a book storyline because there's just so much. You can actually fit so much more. Um, it's getting. Oh, Fourth Wing is getting a prime video television adaption. So that's how that'll be that.
Boston Rob
I did see something about this. You and Gia talking. You talked about music or TV shows and movies, but did you talk about TV or movies? Like, just the two of those.
Rhea
It was combo movies and TV together.
Boston Rob
What would you guys pick? TV or movies?
Rhea
Tv.
Boston Rob
Me too.
Noah
Like, you mean for streaming?
Boston Rob
Like, just in general, for life? Like, if you only watch TV shows.
Noah
Or movies or TV shows? Yeah, movies.
Boston Rob
Really?
Noah
Yeah.
Boston Rob
I would go tv. There's a lot of people out there that are dead, like, dead set on movies. And a lot of people are more tv. Yeah. I would fall way more in the category of TV shows.
Rhea
I do, too. I'm just. I. I watch so many television. Like, it's just movies are so much.
Noah
More rewatchable, like, in my mind, like TV shows. It's like an investment of your time that's like, oh, I want to rewatch the Sopranos. Well, that's so much rewatching.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
And then you're stuck in that. You can't watch, like, a movie. I'll watch five in one day. Like, and they're all different.
Rhea
Yeah. But I don't. I like the binge. I like to be in the world of a television show for a long period of time. Like, the. The downside of a movie for me is that it is like that. That's it.
Boston Rob
I agree. I don't get as invested in a movie because it's over so soon that, like, my interest in the movie doesn' last for long, whereas my interest in a TV show lasts for way longer.
Rhea
And I'll rewatch a tv. Like, I have no problem rewatching TV shows because then it's just, like, a fun investment of time, too. Like, it's, you know. Oh, it's like, oh, I haven't watched Grey's Anatomy from the beginning in a while. I'm gonna. I'm gonna take the next couple months to do that.
Boston Rob
Right.
Noah
I don't think in my entire life I've ever rewatched a show in order all the way through, like, ever.
Boston Rob
You never went back and rewatched, like.
Noah
I'll go watch random episodes, Entourage, like, Sopranos, all that. But, like, I've never been like, okay, I'm gonna watch this show again.
Boston Rob
Wow, interesting. I would almost. Many a time I would put myself in, like, a. A category of if there was a contest of who has went, gone back and rewatched TV shows, the most, I would throw myself.
Noah
But, like, you're watching them, like, in order.
Boston Rob
Yes, like, from the beginning, Like, I.
Rhea
Mean, the amount of times I've been. I've pressed play on season one, episode one of One Tree Hill, and I'll do it for the rest of my life.
Boston Rob
Yeah. There's so many shows like that.
Rhea
I will do it for the rest of my life. Joe's probably watched Entourage start to end, like, six times.
Boston Rob
Yeah. I would put myself up there probably.
Rhea
Maybe more than that.
Boston Rob
More than that. Like, I.
Noah
My problem is it's like, I'll watch. I'll try to watch it through, and then I'm like, I just want to see this one episode in season three. And then I start bouncing around, like, because I know what's coming. And I'm like, oh, well, these episodes I don't like as much, so I'll skip these.
Rhea
See, I like the build up again when there's, like, when I know, like, when I'M building up to the finale of. Of a. Of a season where like maybe the in between episodes aren't. Aren't as big, but I'm like, you got it. It's the build up to the payoff anticipation for the. For that big season finale that you're.
Noah
Do you ever do that albums, like, if you try to listen to like a new album through and then like on the third song, I'm like, I love this. Like, that's my favorite song. So the rest of the album where I'm listening, I'm just like trying to get through it so I can go back and listen to that song.
Rhea
Yeah. There's all. Yeah, yeah. Music is so different. Like an Al. I'll. If like the first two songs on the album I don't really like. Anytime I press play on the album, I'll just press start with the. With the third song, the one that I like the most. You know, like then. Then some of them are just kind of getting.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
Forgotten. Like I'm just pressing play at a. At a different. At a different part.
Boston Rob
Right. I'll get hyper fixated on a song on a new album.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Like squabble up for Kendrick's new album. I just kept going back to that one that I then forgot to listen to the rest of the songs because I just kept going back to that one. I'm like, okay, well now I miss the rest of the rest of the album and I eventually get to the rest of the album, but like, that one song will just be on replay all day.
Noah
I'm a big, like, play a song on repeat for like three weeks straight and then I just never listen to it.
Boston Rob
Yeah. Or. Or you're like, wait, I didn't enjoy it fully that one time I played. I have to play it from the top again. Right. Like when you play a song, you're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. I gotta go back. Yeah, Yeah, I was thinking of something else. I gotta go back and focus on the song. Yeah. That happens all the time.
Rhea
But no. Yeah. So what was I saying? Onyx Storm Week. Very exciting. Yeah, but it is. I'm gonna. I. You want to read it as fast as you can because it's not even like necessarily spoilers. But if you're somebody that's on Tick Tock or on Booktok or whatever, like, people start to talk about it and I'm already like, I got nervous seeing people posting that they went to Target like over the weekend and. And the tar. Some Targets had the book on the shelves early and people like bought it, which I'm pretty. Like, I think Target can get in a lot of trouble for that, but.
Boston Rob
Oh, you think so? I feel like Target always gets early releases on things.
Rhea
Yeah, but like really you're not supposed to. Like I think it might be 21st if you're in the store on January 18th and you're walking out with the book. Like I think that's.
Boston Rob
But I think Target gets these deals.
Noah
Taylor Swift always says, yeah, like I.
Rhea
Think Target deals but not before the release date.
Boston Rob
Sometimes it'll be like early release at Target.
Noah
Like Taylor.
Rhea
Yeah, Taylor. Yeah, Taylor's. It's like here you get, you know, the special pink album if you buy it in Target.
Boston Rob
Are you trying to get, Are you trying to get Target in trouble right now?
Rhea
No, but I, I, this is also me going off of like people freaking out in the TikTok comments of them seeing that like the people are buying the book early and like being like, what the fuck Target?
Boston Rob
Maybe Target had a deal. You never know.
Rhea
Yeah, but I like if Target had a deal, they're, they're advertising that like, hey, you could come by the book early on January 18th, they'd have a line out the fucking door. People trying to buy the book three days before it comes out.
Boston Rob
Right. You know, maybe they're tired of the lines lately and they're like, hey, we just don't even want to announce that we have anything early.
Rhea
And yeah, they just, they just sneaky.
Boston Rob
The lines at Target are fucking insanity. Still.
Rhea
Like I don't still lines.
Boston Rob
Yes.
Noah
Recently I've gone to targets in New York City and now the targets are.
Rhea
All the shelves are so different.
Noah
All the shelves are empty. They don't have anything in the targets in New York.
Rhea
You can't even. I struggled to even like consider them targets.
Boston Rob
The line just not at Target. Like the Jersey City Target. The lines at this Target are fucking insane. Every time I'm in there. Like, they're like the self checkout line is insane. The line to be like, to not like they're wrapped around the store a lot like Target still got it. Like let me tell you, they. And sometimes I walk out of there empty handed because I, I'm like this line is just too long. Like, do I need this that bad? Yeah, you know, you, you have those moments you're like, do I need this that bad? Can I do just have to go home?
Noah
You know, speaking of Target, because that's where I got you all those gummy clusters. I saw that you are on that New flavor, apparently.
Boston Rob
Well, I, I did try the new flavor that you got me.
Noah
The, the like popsicle one.
Boston Rob
Yes. Because I'm used to the berry. Berry. But then there's berry punch flavor. Berry punch flavor. That's when I try. It was delicious. I mean it was fantastic. But a lot of seemed like a very similar concept. It was. A lot of girls were DMing me though, and they said the valence, the Valentine's Day nerds. Gummy clusters are where it's at. And that's coming around the corner. So it's pink. Yeah, I think it's like maybe like a strawberry and something. I'm not really sure. But people are like, that flavor is out of this world. I would still put very berry as my number one at this very moment, but I'm excited for Valentine's Day right around the corner to try the flavor.
Noah
I will put berry Perry at this very moment.
Boston Rob
At this very moment.
Rhea
I mean, the, all the stores have all the Valentine's Day stuff out already. So it could be.
Boston Rob
I could. Yeah, right. Could just get it early.
Rhea
You could find these bad boys.
Boston Rob
Yeah. I'll have to do a taste test and let everybody know what, what I think of that flavor. But I'm very excited to try. All right, let's get into the rest of the show. In the pop culture world of things, Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, we'll talk about that. We're also going to do Popcorner with some voicemails and we have Boston Rob on the show long time coming. So we'll talk to him. All things reality TV and traitors. So let's get into it. If you are looking for the way to a healthy scalp, then look at Ouai's products. I've been using Ouai spelled O U A I for years. I'm holding the leave in conditioner in my hair that I've been using for years now. Ever since I started using the way leave in conditioner, I've never strayed from it. I've been using this leave in conditioner for years. There's also the new scalp serum which you can use day or night whenever you wash your hair. And this is to help your scalp get to that healthy place that you want it to be at. The scalp serum balances and hydrates the scalp and a hundred percent so thicker, fuller looking strands. After using the scalp serum, according to an expert grading study, the daily scalp serum, like I said, can be used easier either day or night depending on when you wash your hair. It's up to you and it soothes that into irritation. Maybe in these winter, drier months where you have irritation and keeps your hair stronger and fuller through a healthy, hydrated, balanced scalp. The way to a healthy scalp starts here. Go to t h e o u a I.com and use code chicks for 15 off any product that's T-E-O-U-A I.com code chicks. So everyone woke up in a tizzy this morning. I. I even had texts from people. Haley. Yeah, Haley, our wonderful friend. Haley, our wonderful friend and makeup artist.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
She was like, I can't deal with this. Justin Bieber just unfollowed Hailey Bieber. And I. And I'm like, what the hell? Like, what is going on? He was just posted to her two days ago. They're in Aspen. They're getting hurt. Kendall Jenner. Haley there. It looks like Justin is filming a music video of some sor. That guy Rory Kramer's taking all the pictures of them. Like, what could have possibly happened?
Rhea
Side note about that. Do you think he was naked with the. With the. With the bong in that? Those photos?
Boston Rob
I did. I did.
Rhea
You know, like, I was like, is he wearing a robe and no clothes?
Boston Rob
You know, he's been posting more risque photos.
Rhea
No, for sure. For sure.
Boston Rob
He posted one. I mean, more than one on his story on Instagram and his boxers and. But I'm like, there's raw wet. It was a whole thing.
Rhea
Got pants on, bro.
Boston Rob
No, I think he's naked. I think he's doing naked cowboy. He's the naked cowboy, bro.
Rhea
Are you, like, a little. Like a. Like a little tighty, whitey action or.
Boston Rob
I think he's prancing around in his boxers or his briefs. His. His white briefs.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
And he's letting it fly on. On Instagram. But people noticed that he unfollowed Haley. Now I don't even know how people find these things, because I have to. Like, are people checking every second his following, typing in names?
Rhea
Like, they must be. I don't know. There must be some technology out there that people have to, like, set notifications.
Boston Rob
They have.
Rhea
Like, there has to be something, because.
Boston Rob
I don't know how you even find that. So. But people did. He unfollowed Haley and that sent everyone, like, because of the rumors that had been going on. Right.
Rhea
And he's been unfollowing a lot of people that have been close to him. Right.
Boston Rob
And it's been. It's been weird. And there was a little back and forth with them on Instagram. People Thought that they were like shading each other. Over Christmas and New Year's, they had these Instagram stories and it looked like they were just sending subliminal. Subliminal. Why can I say the word subliminal? Messages back and forth.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Between each other. And then they were fine. Then they were posting Happy New Year, we're together. Yeah, Love. My wife. Couldn't love this woman more. Yeah. That was like two days ago. This happens and he posts on his story. Someone went on my account and followed. My wife is getting sus out here. Like, why? Dude, what are you talking about?
Rhea
I just, like, have so many unanswered questions when it comes to, like, his life these days and like his day to day where, like, how many people have access to his Instagram account? Like, I'm sure there are other people that have access to it.
Noah
You know, he would know who they are.
Rhea
Right, but that's what. Maybe one of those people is just gonna do that. But maybe he doesn't. Maybe he doesn't. That's what he. Like, maybe people have gotten access that aren't supposed to get access.
Boston Rob
Yeah, maybe someone who's part of his PR camp was on his Instagram and they thought it would be a good idea to follow Haley to get people talking. And then that just went a step too far for Justin. And he thought, is getting sus out here. Like, the PR is taking it too far. Like, shit is getting. I'm following my wife. Like, I'm glad he addressed it though, almost immediately, because I don't want to deal with another day of our Justin and Haley Bieber getting divorced rumors because it's every day when, like, they were literally together yesterday. Like, they were spotted together yesterday. And if you are paying so much attention to them to. To think that they may be getting divorced, then you know that they're spawned together like, yesterday. You know what I mean? Like, I. I don't find the argument of, like, well, we're not following your every move. What? You're following them enough to think that they got divorced. So why wouldn't you just see that they were together yesterday? Like, I don't understand. I don't understand. I don't understand Justin Bieber in general things right now. It's bizarre. He's posting naked in the woods and it seems like he's recording music, which I would be very, very in favor of. Like, whatever is going on right now. I'd love to hear new Justin Bieber music.
Noah
But a lot of people thought it was a PR thing to get people talking about him.
Rhea
People are already.
Boston Rob
They're already talking about him.
Noah
He doesn't need.
Rhea
He really. No. Like. And it's also of all the quote unquote PR stunts to pull to get people interested in what he's doing. Unfollowing his wife, I'm sure, is, like, not at the top of the list.
Boston Rob
No.
Rhea
And I'm sure, like. Like, when the. When the publicist calls is like, hey, here's the options of things you can do to really get the conversation going. One, unfollow your wife. Like, no, it's just. I don't know what happened. It is bizarre. Is weird. I know. We talk about people unfollowing people all the time, and we always say the same thing. Like, it's not super easy to accidentally unfollow someone anymore. Like, there are multiple buttons that need to be pressed. So I just. I just don't. I do not know. Because then now this also makes me second guess all the other unfollowing.
Boston Rob
He's done refollow. Let's see.
Rhea
He did revolve. Oh, it's all right. He refollowed and deleted the story about the whole thing, like, right away.
Noah
So weird.
Rhea
Like, he had that story up for, like, 20 minutes, refiled Haley and deleted the story.
Noah
A lot of other people think that he's also just trolling people.
Boston Rob
Well, I thought that when I read that story, I was like, I think he unfollowed her and then posted that story. Like. Like, I was like, did he just unfollow her? And then.
Rhea
Oh, it's an inside. It's like. It's like, because everybody's been making so much noise about all that he's been on following that. It's like, oh, I'll unfollow Haley.
Boston Rob
And then friend. I couldn't even tell you why I think he did. I don't even know why he went. Really?
Rhea
None of them make any sense.
Boston Rob
Nothing makes sense to me besides him just being, like, a prankster. Like, I just see all these pictures and videos. Justin Bieber. I'm like, what is he doing right now? He's living in the woods. Not really in the woods. I'm sure they're living in a beautiful house that's located near the woods.
Rhea
He does love a good joke.
Boston Rob
Yeah, he's like a prankster guy.
Noah
So, like, he was like, hey, how funny would it be if I unfollowed you and watch everyone spiral, right?
Boston Rob
And then he's like, shiz getting sus out here. Like, I bet he's cracking up at home.
Noah
Like, should we put that on a shirt?
Rhea
Honestly, that's probably the most us out here. That's probably the most, like, acceptable explanation.
Boston Rob
None of it makes sense. None of it makes sense. Unless. Because he wasn't like, I got hacked. Like, if he got hacked, they would be posting things.
Noah
I think the shit on his account here softened. Like, if it was just the first part, then people would be questioning it more. But it's like, oh, that's funny.
Boston Rob
He's like, ah, damn. Shit's getting suss out here. Like, maybe he's just trying to build up this new music. Like, it's getting Sus out here. Can you guys smell it? Can you smell that? New music is getting Sus out here. Damn. Is getting Sus out here out in Aspen, unfollowing my wife on Instagram.
Noah
My wife is the name of the.
Rhea
Noted lyrical genius, so I would not.
Boston Rob
Be follow my wife on Instagram were the lyrics. Out in Aspen with my white box of briefs on, smoking a bong on.
Rhea
He's. Yeah. I don't know.
Boston Rob
Sitting by the fireplace, fondue. Yeah, that's where I was headed there. You never know with Justin.
Rhea
No, you really don't. And I feel like maybe, maybe it is because it's been for the last two weeks, it really has been like, oh, Justin Bieber unfollowed Scooter. Justin Bieber unfollowed. Allison. Justin Bieber unfollowed the other Usher. Like, there's been a bunch that it's like. So maybe he's like, in his own mind, he's going, justin Bieber unfollowed Haley. Oh.
Boston Rob
Oh, Shit's getting Sus out here, boys.
Noah
Shit. Wasn't Sus when he unfollowed all those people.
Boston Rob
Yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah, that was one too far for him.
Noah
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Is getting Sus out here, boys.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Out here in Aspen. I'm out here in Aspen.
Rhea
Yeah. No, she's not.
Boston Rob
It's getting set.
Rhea
Justin Bieber follows Andrew Spencer on Instagram.
Boston Rob
I did notice that. The same thing in the. In the midst of all of this.
Rhea
The midst of all this. That's what I've noticed because I've just clicked on his following. I mean, good for him. Should I. Andrew is very funny.
Boston Rob
Should we text him and say, why does Justin Bieber follow you on his.
Rhea
Andrew must really like my. My. My vids or something. The next headline, justin Bieber unfollows Andrew. When you say this, just, like, did it.
Boston Rob
Damn. I'm following this random guy from The Bachelorette shit is getting sussed out here. Damn, they took it too far this time.
Rhea
Yep.
Boston Rob
I don't watch this damn show. I follow Greg, not Andrew.
Rhea
That is actually so funny.
Boston Rob
Damn.
Rhea
Well, you know what's weird is that you can't really can't see. Like, I wish it all. I wish Instagram kept it all where if you look at somebody's following, it's like all the. All the people that you follow are at the top. Because now there's like, there'll be a bunch. Like, there'll be a good group, but then there then, like, if you keep scrolling, the rest are like, really spread out, which is annoying. Why not tell me all the people that we both follow, you know, like.
Noah
Their updates have been awful lately.
Rhea
Yeah, this. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not opposed to the rectangular grid post.
Noah
Why do they have to.
Rhea
I like that. But the uncentering the top is really, really.
Noah
There's me, blank space. It's like, there's no.
Rhea
I don't know what that empty space is now. Like, and especially if you have a short, like, name or if you're just. It's just so weird to look at now.
Noah
Shit's getting suss out here.
Boston Rob
Yeah, I texted Andrew, I said, hi, we're talking the office. We have a serious question. Why does Justin Bieber follow you on Instagram? And did you know this? Yeah, he's typing.
Rhea
I mean, he had to have known this.
Boston Rob
Oh my God. I don't know if I can. I think I could say it. I think I said, we're talking. I took in the office. Yeah, he said, hahahaha. Yeah, I know this. He reached out to me after the show. Dope guy.
Rhea
Oh my God, that's so funny. Wow. May have talked about this before, but, like, because, you know, there was a. I think there was a. There was definitely a time where, like, I think Justin and Haley were watching a lot of the Bachelor. And that's crazy. Like, I think, like, I think, like, Haley watched it and therefore Justin watched it.
Boston Rob
Wait, that's awesome.
Noah
That is crazy also, that's like a nonchalant response from Andrew. Like, yeah, dope guy.
Rhea
Yeah, we go way back.
Boston Rob
We go, justin Bieber, he's fucking sick.
Rhea
Yeah, we go way back.
Boston Rob
No, wait, that's so. That is. That is.
Rhea
I would. I would tell everybody that. No, I'd start my first thing.
Boston Rob
And we did know. Oh, wait, he said. Yeah, he was like, you were my. You were mine and my wife's favorite and like, to keep My head up. Oh, that's so nice.
Rhea
Oh, Justin.
Boston Rob
Wow, that is really nice. Now I feel bad that I was making fun of the fact that he may have been watching. I just. I knew Haley and Kendall watched, but because they had posted about it, I'm acting like they're my good friend that I know they watch the show. They just would post about it.
Rhea
I'm just picturing that some way that's. That's way cooler. Way cooler than just to be were following me on Twitter.
Noah
Wait, does he still follow you on Twitter? Yeah, Twitter is. Yeah, yeah.
Rhea
But it's like in early on in his career, that was like a thing like, that shows how. How early on I was a believer because, like early on when he didn't have a big following, they would like follow back all the accounts, like tweet back him. Like, Justin Bieber follows 270,000 people. That's on Twitter.
Boston Rob
Oh, that's insane.
Rhea
So 270,000 versus like 150 on Instagram. 270,000 has 109 million followers on Twitter.
Boston Rob
That's insane.
Rhea
That's a lot for Twitter.
Boston Rob
That is.
Rhea
That's a lot for Twitter.
Boston Rob
That is a lot. Well, Twitter used to be like, you know.
Noah
Yeah. Early like on Twitter.
Rhea
Yeah. He joined March 2009. Justin Bieber.
Noah
You were when he's popping off.
Rhea
That was. And let me tell you that. That is when I was tweeting at him.
Boston Rob
You were one less only girl.
Rhea
March 2009. I was a freshman in high school. So yeah.
Boston Rob
Damn. Goes way back.
Rhea
I was spending a lot of time tweeting at Justin Bieber.
Boston Rob
You and Andrew Spencer.
Rhea
By that point in my life. Yeah, yeah.
Boston Rob
Both followed by Justin Bieber on different platforms.
Rhea
But, you know, that's okay.
Boston Rob
We don't have to note that you're both followed by Justin Bieber. We don't have to.
Noah
Andrew was on the show. He's probably like, oh, look at this. Like, Bieber's watching his stories like, of him at the live show.
Boston Rob
Oh, Andrew ate it up in Detroit at that live show.
Rhea
True.
Noah
Wow. That was a cool entrance you guys had on stage.
Boston Rob
Wow.
Rhea
What. What event was that? That looks.
Boston Rob
Can I be a guest at that? Damn.
Noah
Oh, wait, that's the girl who said she hated my last album.
Rhea
That's so interesting. I wonder if you, like, what if Justin, like, if I was Andrew and I knew that Justin Bieber followed me, I would scroll through every single story I've posted to like, see who's viewed my story to see if he sees, like, What I'm posting, I feel like I would be looking every single time I posted a story.
Boston Rob
Don't you think his name would be right at the top, though?
Rhea
Why?
Noah
Because I think, like, I just feel like that's how. That's how it's worked. I feel like I don't think that's.
Boston Rob
How it works for me. When I look at my stories, a lot of the times it's like the people that, like, have a lot of followers.
Rhea
Really?
Noah
No. No big deal. That time that John Mayor looked at tricks in the office. That's why I saw him, because he.
Boston Rob
Yeah, usually the people, like, they pop up at the top, they'll go.
Noah
I think the way it works is, like, you'll see them at the top and then maybe like an hour later they switch it. So then you don't see that.
Rhea
Yeah. Or maybe it changes. I mean, mine don't do that.
Noah
I feel that's.
Rhea
I really have, like, a hard name to miss.
Noah
Well, I guess you guys have a lot of followers.
Rhea
But no, I'm just saying, like, I've gone through mine where I've scrolled and I've seen people with more. Like the names of the top have no correlation to. To like, most fault, like, highest real followers.
Noah
But they're all people. The people at the top are the people that you follow too, right? Because I don't. Oh, really?
Boston Rob
A lot of times it's like, people I follow or it's all people.
Noah
IPhone. And then.
Boston Rob
And then it goes into them.
Rhea
Oh, no, mine's totally random.
Boston Rob
Really?
Rhea
Yep.
Boston Rob
Wow, that's crazy.
Noah
That's weird.
Boston Rob
Yeah, mine is usually people I follow or like, people with like, a lot of followers will pop to the top and then it'll.
Rhea
Nope. I see like a cut. Like, they're like the first she sees Trent.
Noah
When she.
Rhea
The first few.
Boston Rob
Trent is always. Honestly, I always see Trent.
Rhea
The first few are people that I follow. But if I scroll. Oh, like, like I follow this person.
Boston Rob
Huh.
Rhea
They're like, they're mixed. They're mixed in.
Boston Rob
All of a sudden, Justin Bieber keeps scrolling.
Noah
Oh, wait, he's at the bottom.
Boston Rob
Yeah, Justin Bieber's in there.
Rhea
No, but yeah, they're. They're. They're mixed in in different parts.
Boston Rob
Interesting.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Well, that'll be the next question. Andrew. I don't wanna. I don't wanna bombard him with Justin Bieber.
Noah
Questions be like, Wild Beaver's doing this massive following. Like, Usher's out. Like, Haley's out. He's still like, he's gonna be down to, like, 200.
Boston Rob
Andrew's still in there. He's still making the cut. Yeah. Props, Andrew. Andrew is hilarious. So I can see why Justin followed him.
Rhea
He is. All right, folks. Now I'm. Now I'm. I. To be honest, I don't look at that that much. And now that I'm looking and, like, the first five people are people that I follow. I'm like, are you the only people that I follow that have watched this story? That can't be possible.
Boston Rob
No, I think that there's no rhyme or reason to why Instagram's filler.
Noah
They do circle it out.
Boston Rob
Yeah, it changes a lot.
Rhea
It does change, but that's what I'm saying. Like, there's no way only.
Boston Rob
Does my name pop up a lot for you?
Rhea
I don't look, like, often enough where I would, but, yeah, I think so. But, like, it's, like, in the. It just usually, it depends.
Boston Rob
Like, your name, Noah's name. Like, you guys.
Rhea
It depends on the time.
Boston Rob
Like, I'll see. Like, even if I don't click to see who viewed it, your. Your little pictures pop up in the corner. You know what I mean?
Rhea
Your picture pops up. But I also think because Instagram strategically places people. Like, if you post a story, you're the. You're my first circle. Yeah, like, you're my first circle that. That shows up. So, like, I'm. I'm watching fast because it's the. It's, you know, my. You're my first circle.
Boston Rob
Sometimes I click people circles alarmingly. And if I click someone's circle and it says, like, 20 seconds ago, I am like, oh, I gotta be honest. It happens.
Rhea
The worst one says a few seconds. Sometimes it says a few.
Noah
It's like their finger is still on the. Like.
Rhea
Right, Right.
Boston Rob
It hasn't even loaded for them yet. And I'm watching, like, it. I watch stories sometimes just embarrassingly fast.
Rhea
You know, like when you post a story and then it's. Or if, like, if something's wrong or something and you panic, but you have to wait for it to finish uploading and then delete it.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
Like, and there's, like, two people who have seen it. Like, I'm the. I'm the. I'm like, the two.
Boston Rob
Mistake.
Rhea
Even though it's been deleted within 15.
Noah
Seconds, I always respond to them being like, I like the one with the typo better.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Oh, my God. Don't be that guy.
Rhea
Damn. Why'd you delete this?
Boston Rob
Damn. Damn. You saw that insane typo you made. Why'd you delete. Damn.
Noah
Yeah, I like the placement of the text on the first one better.
Rhea
Yeah. Oh, man.
Boston Rob
Oh, shit.
Rhea
I don't know what Justin Bieber is doing online, though.
Boston Rob
No, shit's getting sus.
Rhea
Yeah, shit is getting sus out there.
Boston Rob
And yeah, right, to just end that conversation.
Rhea
Honestly, just keep that motto for like all social media for the year. Like, yeah, tick tock, Instagram, whatever. Like is getting stuff right.
Boston Rob
If you make a mistake, if you make a mistake on Instagram or tick tock or whatever and you. And you maybe posted something you didn't think you should have or whatever. I don't know, guys, someone did that. She's getting sus out here.
Rhea
Who knows what you're viewing. Like algorithms getting sucks.
Boston Rob
Yeah, everything's a little sus right now. Know it's getting sus out here.
Rhea
Oh, man. Well, Justin, that. That long nightmare is over. Justin did refollow her. So, you know, all. All's good.
Boston Rob
Thank God. Thank God.
Rhea
But maybe Justin change your passwords for sure.
Boston Rob
All right, welcome back to the Popcorner, where we're going to be taking your voicemails. Things you want to talk about in the pop culture world. Questions for us in general. Let's get into it.
Caller
Hi, this is Rachel from Wisconsin. Sorry if you talked about this on the weekly Watch Report. I haven't listened to this week's episode yet, but my hot take and just like, what I'm wondering on you, what you two think is I just don't think the traders they picked out for this season of Traders are that good. And so I'm very curious to see how the rest of the season goes, because I feel like they're already on to most of them. And so are we going to be recruiting more traders? Like, is it just going to be a bunch of faithfuls at the end thinking someone else is a traitor? Like, where's the show going to go from here? So just wondering what your thoughts are and I guess, who would you have loved to see as a trader? Personally, I would have loved to see Gabby as a trader and I hope they recruit her. Okay, have a great day. Thanks. Bye.
Rhea
I think they're definitely going to recruit some others. I think they're like, maybe early on it wasn't the right. Not that it wasn't the right picks, but like, it's. They're getting mixed up fast. So if they do start taking out traders, I think there's a possibility of definitely somebody being recruited. But I'm, I'm, I'm totally fine with it. It's like, mix it up. Last season, I felt like they were not on to them at all for like, a while.
Boston Rob
Right. I also feel like it's hard to know whether you notice whether or not you're picking good traders.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
You don't know until you give them the task and watch them do it. Right. It's like that's why they pick them. You know what I mean? Like, you really don't know until it happens. So I don't know if we can necessarily say that they were bad at picking or if these traders are just not so good at being a trader and, you know, hiding themselves.
Rhea
I think I would have liked to have seen one of maybe like one of the Bravo people be a traitor, one of the housewives. Like, I think, like, even though Dolores is like such a faithful, I think she would have been a good traitor.
Boston Rob
I think so too. I would have liked to seen Sierra as a traitor just to give her more shine in the show. I think they're already onto her. Like, they. Well, they were onto her. They thought she was a traitor. She's not. But I think it would have been interesting to watch her be one just because I feel like she hasn't been on reality shows in the past like this, like a chat, like, you know, game show type that it would have been interesting to see her in that role. You know, there they have Boston Rob as a traitor, but then last year they also had Parvati as a traitor. So I'm like, if you watch the show, would you maybe be on to the fact that they're just having the surviving people be the traitors too?
Rhea
Like, I saw people on TikTok say that.
Boston Rob
I'm shocked that they made Boston Rob the traitor after making Parvati a traitor. When Boston Rob and Parvati are both known as, like, survivor legend slash, you either love them or maybe you just like the way they play their game, but both in the same category. Right.
Rhea
And that I saw the. The tick tock I saw was like, oh, if these faithfuls thought about it, you know, they've had a surviving. They had a survivor as. As a trader for both seasons. They've already eliminated two survivors and they were both faithfuls. So the odds of, like, Rob or Carolyn being a trader is like, what you would think would be really high. But I don't know how much. I don't know how much research everybody's really doing before going into it to be like, I know exactly how like, this season went and that season went probably Dylan Efron. I don't know how.
Boston Rob
Yeah. They're just excited to get asked to be on the show. And they're like, oh, whatever happens happens.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Noah
Quick one, but a funny one.
Fran
Bagel should never be toasted. Never be toasted.
Boston Rob
That's it. He came in with a strong take. Bagel should never be toasted.
Rhea
Should never be toasted.
Boston Rob
I disagree.
Rhea
Yes.
Boston Rob
I disagree with that. I think, listen, if you get a fresh. A fresh bagel as warm and just coming, like, right out and it's hot, and you could just spread that butter or cream cheese Right on. You want to keep it simple.
Rhea
Yep.
Boston Rob
And you got that fluffy bagel, then no toasted needed.
Rhea
Totally.
Boston Rob
But if you're picking up a dozen bagels from the store and, you know, maybe it's the, you know, I'm thinking sleepover vibes. Right. Or, you know, whatever. You're picking up a dozen bagels, that shit's gotta be toasted.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
You know, it's making it. When it's cold and it's making its way from the store to the car to home, you wait a little bit. You gotta toast the bagel. You know, I think depending when the bagel happens, I just, like, took too.
Rhea
Big of a breath and choked on air.
Boston Rob
Are you okay?
Rhea
Like, that's just what just happened to me. Like, I, like, brought in too much. Yeah, I'm okay. But it, like, made my throat a little itchy. Whoa. I could not agree more. A fresh bagel. 100%. Like, if. If I'm going to the bagel store Saturday morning, walking in, ordering a bagel, I do not get my bagel toasted. I know that there are some people that must have their bagel toasted. I do not. But, like, if it's a day old, two days old, you know, you're pulling out the bagel from. From the pantry that you bought a couple days before. Yeah. You're. I'm throwing that in the toast.
Boston Rob
It depends on what it is.
Rhea
Right. I. I feel like if he's arguing that, like, if you're going to the store and getting a bagel, never get it toasted. I could see. I could see that.
Boston Rob
And you're eating it right away.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
And.
Rhea
But just in general, there are times when bagels need to be toasted.
Boston Rob
For sure. For sure. Like, the bagels I made the other day, I did not toast. Like, I didn't take them out of the oven and toast them.
Rhea
No, no.
Boston Rob
Like, they were fluffy, they're warm.
Rhea
Beautiful bagels are out of the oven.
Boston Rob
Right.
Caller
Hey, Re And Fran, love the show. This is Sarah from Ohio. My hot pop culture take is that I hate Chapel Roan. I know that's kind of, you know, some people have said that she's been annoying recently, but I really just just don't like her whole vibe with not wanting attention and yelling at paparazzi and things like that, when literally her entire Persona is just begging for attention with the crazy makeups and the outfits and, you know, how she performs and all of that. And then to turn around and say, like, I don't want attention, I want my privacy. Like, you're literally a celebrity. Sure, there needs to be a limit on it, but I just don't like the whole vibe that she's putting out into the world when she's kind of like an attention seeker with everything else she does. Anyways, love the show. Thanks for letting me be a hater.
Rhea
You know, always appreciate the hate. I will, I will say I, I'm fine with her saying she, she just doesn't like her, her vibe and everything. But I, I don't agree with, like, oh, she's asking for the attention because of what she wears and the makeup and everything. Like, that's just, that's just her style. Exactly. That's self expression. That's her as an artist. That's like how she feels comfortable. That's like the Persona. That's like her stage Persona. Like, everything that she does. I don't think you're doing that in this with the mindset of, like, let me just do the most outrageous thing to like, get the most attention from people. Like, I just, I think that's just, I think how she is.
Boston Rob
Yeah, I, I, I agree with you.
Rhea
Like, she created Chapel Ron is like a, a Persona.
Boston Rob
Right. And I think that everything, makeup, all that is just, like you said, a form of self expression. Like, I don't, like, I totally agree with all that. I don't, don't need to repeat you word for word, but I agree exactly with what you said. That was my exact thought.
Rhea
I think she can find her annoying.
Boston Rob
Yeah, I think, I think, you know, she can be an acquired taste for some in the way that people do find it annoying that it seems like there's a problem with everything. You know what I mean? I totally find it reasonable for there to be a problem with some of the things that she has brought attention to, you know, being disrespected on a red carpet or, you know, just in general. Like, people can get really out of hand. Stalking, threats, all of that stuff can get really out of hand and there's no problem, like, speaking up about that. But on the other side of it, there are, like, other little things that you're just like, okay, now, now, like, these things feel like nitpicky situations. So I could see people getting annoyed about that.
Rhea
I. I agree. Sure. There's plenty of times where interviews or whatnot, you're like, oh, you don't. You don't agree with everything that she says. I love the music. So that's that what. For sure, that's what pulls me. Pulls me back in all the time. But I think it's just really hard for anybody that finds such immense amount of fame, like, so quickly. And she feels very strongly about, like, her personal freedoms and personal space and when that, like, gets violated, she's spoken out about it. So I don't really have any issue with that. But I know, like, people get bothered by the one. There's the comments about fame and you're, you know, like, oh, you're. You're. Oh, now you're. What are you complaining for? You're famous. Like, blah, blah, blah, those things.
Boston Rob
Yeah. But there's are. There are some things that come with it that she could not love while also loving to express herself with music and everything.
Rhea
For sure.
Caller
Hi, Queens. Noah, that includes you. This is Maria from Philly with my hot take that everyone, after Hannah season. Hannah Brown's season at the Bachelorette said that she blew with Tyler Cameron. She screwed up. She should have picked him. Blah, blah, blah. My hot take is that she dodged a bullet by not ending up with him.
Rhea
Wow.
Caller
Love you guys.
Boston Rob
Bye.
Rhea
Wow. Wow, Tyler. Sorry. Sorry.
Boston Rob
That just took a ricochet shot. Not even a Rick. That was a direct shot at Tyler there.
Rhea
It was a direct shot. Here's the thing. You can't argue that Tyler was not the better choice over Jet. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Boston Rob
Tyler was absolutely the better choice.
Rhea
Even like.
Boston Rob
Yes. No, you know, Tyler was the better choice. If we're going to talk between Jed and pilot Pete. Yeah, Tyler was definitely the correct choice out of those guys. Now, do I think Tyler and Hannah Brown ended up in the spots where they're supposed to be right now. Yes. I think that if they were going to make it work, they would have made it work when they, like, sort of rekindled their thing in Covid and it didn't end up happening. Like, I just think those two weren't meant to be together. And I think it's very clear because they didn't make it work. Hannah is engaged and very happy with her man. Tyler is with Tate, his lovely girlfriend. They seem very happy. So I think, you know, they both ended up where they should be. But to come to Tyler's defense, it's like, well, you're putting up. You're putting them up against Jed and pilot Pete. So he was the better option between those two.
Rhea
And. And look like if she did pick him, I do not think they would have lasted because I think they just wanted. So either they just. I think they wanted, like, different things, different life. Like, I think Tyler has. And Tyler had his party boy days and all those things, but now he's come back to, like, really wanting to be in Florida and like, building houses and like, doing everything that he's doing down there. And eventually, I don't know if, like, Hannah would have been like, yeah, that's the lifestyle I want for sure.
Boston Rob
You know, it's so weird. Actually saw a picture this morning that really reminded me. It was a picture from that time period where Tyler and I were out together a lot.
Rhea
A lot. Yeah.
Boston Rob
And I was like, wow, what a weird time. Yeah, like I, My, My thoughts were. What an odd time that was.
Rhea
I mean, there was.
Boston Rob
Oh, the stories to tell. The stories to tell.
Rhea
There were some ny, like major nyc, little, you know, nights out and whatnot. There's one. He's living here for a while.
Boston Rob
Yeah, we. Yeah, we spent a lot of time going out and that was. That was a weird time. It was fun though. We had. It was a lot of fun, but it's just crazy to think about, like, that was just such a different period of time.
Rhea
Yeah, totally. 100%. And so, yeah, for. For. Yeah. Hannah and Tyler were just never in the. Never in the cards, I don't think.
Boston Rob
No, no, no, no.
Rhea
My God, we can't be insulting Tyler like that.
Boston Rob
He dodged a bullet.
Rhea
Yeah. Hey.
Boston Rob
Hey. Maybe he shouldn't have gotten ice cream without Tate, right?
Rhea
No, for sure, for sure. But my.
Boston Rob
He.
Rhea
He popped into my parents store a couple weeks ago and he told me that my mom yelled at him for this.
Boston Rob
Good, good, I'm glad. I'm glad he deserved to be yelled at over that.
Rhea
Yeah. Yep, yep, yep. So. All right, we'll do another one.
Caller
Hey, Rhiannon. Fran. I have a hot take that I just kind of need to rant about. It doesn't really, like revolve around anything pop culture, but I hate when people include their pregnancy tests in a pregnancy announcement. Like, no one wants to see your pee stick. Sure as hell don't Hand me your pee stick. There are so many cute ways to announce it. Like, just leave the pee stick out of it. Like, I know obviously you're not peeing on the whole thing, but, like, nobody shoots 100% on those things. Like, there's so many other cute ways that you can do this. Let's just agree to leave the pea sticks out of it. That's all.
Rhea
You know, I've never really thought about that, but she makes a very valid point.
Boston Rob
It is valid. I've never thought about it either. I've never looked at a pregnancy test posted by somebody and gone. They peed on that thing and you.
Rhea
Think, oh, God, her hands covered in pee.
Boston Rob
Yeah, no, I never thought about that until now. I will now. Every post I see with a pregnancy test in it, I will be thinking of that.
Rhea
I wonder if this is. And this is just like, oh, I. A question of how it works, where it's like, oh, if you get a pregnancy test, can you just really, like, disinfect that bad boy afterwards? And like, the. The results will still be what the results are. Like, it'll still be. It won't. Nothing will change from the screen or.
Boston Rob
Whatever, you know, I have no idea. That's another question that we're not too familiar with.
Rhea
I don't know either.
Boston Rob
Somebody out there will give us the answer.
Rhea
I've never taken a pregnancy test in my life.
Boston Rob
Really?
Rhea
Is that crazy?
Boston Rob
That is crazy.
Rhea
Yeah. Like, even like a, Like a. Like a scare, I was like this.
Boston Rob
I never had a scare, actually, but I've taken, like, it just like you. I don't even know why.
Rhea
Well, you would take them because you were. You'd be afraid you were pregnant.
Boston Rob
No. Yes. But, like, not actually. You know what I mean? Yeah, I know, but. Yeah, you know what I mean?
Rhea
No, for sure. For sure. So I don't really fully.
Boston Rob
Because I can't say I'm experiencing my endometriosis. I, you know.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Boston Rob
I got unpredictable periods sometimes that you.
Rhea
Do that you do that you do. I.
Boston Rob
Or happy.
Rhea
Just like, what's the. Because I. I would hope that. That they clean that bad boy off afterwards when they're really holding it up and showing it to everybody.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
I don't know. There's something nice about. About showing the actual tests.
Boston Rob
Like, hey, we did it.
Rhea
You know, I mean, I get what she's saying, for sure. Like, and I think there are people who have different levels of, like, germ.
Noah
Do people keep those stuff or. No, like, like, frame it.
Rhea
I don't. I Don't know if people frame them, but I would. I would think. Think people keep them.
Boston Rob
Nobody I've known that has gotten pregnant has kept them. I don't know. Or maybe I don't know. Actually. Don't know.
Rhea
I've never asked. Yeah.
Boston Rob
I don't ask my sister if she still has hers.
Rhea
Yeah, that's something.
Boston Rob
But I mean, like, something.
Rhea
I've never asked.
Boston Rob
No. But I'm not sure.
Rhea
Yeah. I really don't know too much in this department. I'm not gonna lie.
Boston Rob
Me either. I guess we'll find out when we're. When we finish this episode. Yeah. Or when we're there. Right?
Rhea
Yeah, I know. People will tell us that.
Noah
Kind of made it sound like you were gonna both take pregnancy tests after this episode.
Boston Rob
No, I mean, I've taken pregnancy tests before and have just thrown them in the trash because they're not positive.
Rhea
Yeah, of course. Yeah. You're like, its job is done.
Boston Rob
Yeah, the job is done.
Rhea
The job is done. It's gone.
Boston Rob
It's going in the trash. You know, trash, for sure.
Rhea
But no, my point was, like, I was saying, like, I guess it really depends on your level of what. How much germs and bathroom stuff. Like, you know, if that. If that bothers you that you're, like, so disgusted that you can't. You don't want to. You don't want to be near it, but, you know, peace. Sterile.
Noah
So that doesn't affect me. Like, it's still pee.
Rhea
Yeah, well, I'm just saying, like, true.
Boston Rob
It's true. You had a. You had a good point there.
Rhea
Yeah. Yeah.
Boston Rob
All right, let's do it.
Rhea
I don't know. People get so. People get so. So nitpicky. Let the. Let the. Let the pregnant people celebrate with the pregnancy, you know, like, with the. With the test.
Boston Rob
All right, let's do one more.
Caller
Hey, Rio fan and Noah, big fan. Love you guys. My hot take is that I want to see more Tom Schwartz.
Boston Rob
When I saw him on the screen.
Caller
Summer House coming up. I was like, yes, put Tom Schwartz in there. I think Tom Schwartz should be in more shows. Oh, mtv. The challenge. We need a ringer for some comedic relief. Tom Schwartz. Oh, on the traitors. He uses a sacrificial lamb. Tom Schwartz. Oh, the Real Housewives of Potomac are fighting. Tom Schwartz should be their server.
Rhea
Like, is this job comedic relief?
Boston Rob
We found Tom Schwartz, and I want.
Caller
To see him in more things. Thanks so much.
Fran
Bye.
Rhea
I love it. My Tom Schwartz does provide great comedic relief because he's just Schwartz like, he's just, you know, he's just aloof. Like people, the other cast members all joke, like they can't stay mad at him for that long. Like he's just, he's just, he's just Schwartz.
Boston Rob
Even though Schwartz, he'd be kind of.
Rhea
Funny on many trainers. He would be.
Boston Rob
But there's so many shitty moments, right?
Rhea
Oh, yeah.
Boston Rob
There's so many moments of him absolutely treating Katie like such garbage and treating people like such garbage. But for some reason, people just come back around on him. Like, there's a lot of excuses made for him like, oh, he's just a lovable idiot. It's like, well, his best friend is Tom Sandoval. You know what I mean? Like, let's. But, but even, like, it seems like Katie forgives him too. So it seems like he's just that kind of guy that people just end up up forgiving.
Rhea
And I do feel like she is also kind of making a point of. Of we could just drag Tom Schwartz into these clown, like cameos in other shows.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
And like, that's what would make people happy. It's like not having it really been being taken seriously, but in a way of like, oh, Below Deck. Guest bartender Tom Schwartz.
Boston Rob
There goes Tom Schwartz again.
Rhea
There goes Schwartz again. Showing up on another show. That doesn't make any sense.
Boston Rob
That would be be funny if he just was randomly popping into like, he's on. He's on Below Deck.
Rhea
You know, he shows up as. And he's invited to one of Kyle Richards backyard parties.
Boston Rob
Yeah. No, I could see him just being implemented in that way.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
All right, that wraps up the Popcorner segment for this week, but we will be back with more and hopefully not keep talking about Pete.
Rhea
Hey, it's all right.
Boston Rob
It's all right.
Rhea

Boston Rob
All right, everyone, we are here with a very special guest. We are joined by Rob Mariano, Fran's cousin. We're just figuring that out.
Rhea
We're trace our family tree back. There's got to be something.
Boston Rob
Yes, exactly. AKA Boston Rob, reality TV show legend. You guys know him from Survivor Dealer, no deal Island Now Traitors, which we are very, very excited to talk about. Big episode this week. Everybody's talking about it, and we're so excited that you're here today to talk.
Fran
Yeah, I'm excited to be here. It was. It was a fun episode, that's for sure.
Rhea
It really. It really was. I mean, first off, I got to ask is, you know, you're. You're a Boston guy, so how are you very familiar with the barstool world or not at all?
Fran
I'm very familiar. It's crazy because I'm a lot older than you girls, but I actually came up around the same time as Dave in Boston. Like, everything, like, you know, the gambling, the whole thing. And I'm surprised our paths have never crossed. But, yeah, super big fan. That's true.
Rhea
I was gonna say I'm surprised that that's true. Have you always been Boston Justin Rob, like, from the beginning? That's like.
Fran
So the story of how that even started. The first season, I was on Survivor, there were two guys named Rob, and we got to the merge, and Jeff's like, how are we gonna handle this? And the other guy's like, well, I'm from New York. You call me New York. Rob, I don't think probes like, being told what to do. And he's like, well, where are you from? And I was like, boston. And he was like, okay, Boston Rob. And that was it. Like, seriously stuck.
Boston Rob
It was that Rob's dream to be called New Rob. And now you're. And now you're boss and Rob forever. But this season of Traitors is so good. Everyone's talking about it. We were. You know, we just had Parvati on. We were laughing with her, too, because there's so many different, like, edits now, like, on TikTok and everything. And we've been talking a lot on our show about all the edits that people have been making of you because they're watching you now on Traders, and, you know, you had the backwards hat and the blazer. You talked about that, you know, still rocking the same thing. And everyone's like, if you don't know Boston Rob, here he is. And it's just like, all these edits now of you on TikTok. Have you seen those? Have your daughter shown you?
Fran
My daughters are more likely to have shown them to me. But, yeah, I think, like, one of the reasons why I've continued to do this for over 25 years is, like, people expect the consistency, and I am who I am. I make no bones about it. Like, that's how I like to dress. I know it's a fashion show, but to me, I was more focused on the competition part.
Rhea
Yep, Absolutely. Absolutely. And I know, even post, like, they've all been honoring the. The backwards hat. I saw Bob on. On. On TikTok wearing his hat backwards. He was. Yeah. He said, this is for Boston Rob. There was. It was a very interesting entrance for you on this season. What was that like? Kind of like, was there a moment where you thought, oh, my God, I'm not gonna. I'm not gonna be able to play.
Fran
I mean, like, facts. Like, they did me no favors.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Fran
They did not tell me until after I got to Scotland.
Rhea
Okay.
Fran
Like, I was in Scotland the night before the show's about to start.
Rhea
Not be on the show.
Fran
We got this idea. We're gonna do a little twist. And I was like, I don't think that's a good idea. And they're like, well, if it doesn't work, we have another idea. And they're like, what? I was like, what's the other idea? They're like, we're not telling you.
Boston Rob
And I was like, this is not what I'm saying. Not a good idea either.
Fran
But, you know, like, I'm gonna have a target regardless. Like, my reputation precedes me. Many years of playing these games. So I'm like, okay, let's make it bigger. Let's see if I can get out of it. Let's see what I can do. And, yeah, so I didn't anticipate anybody letting me in. And then afterwards, you know, it's like, it's definitely on me.
Rhea
Yeah, right. They had to find someone.
Fran
I'm using it wrong. Right. The sus. My girls at home are cringing like, my four daughter's like, dad. No.
Boston Rob
I was like, oh, that's funny. I think, though, watching this unfold on this season, it's like, okay, you don't get let in. Right? And then you're brought in. But I don't know how it didn't click immediately for people like, He's a traitor now. Like, it's.
Fran
Yeah. You know, I mean, I think a lot of them probably think it in the back of their heads. But then, like, once I find out who the other traders are in the turret with me, I'm like, here we go, right? Like, this is. This is, like, one surprise after the next. It's getting harder and harder and harder. And, like, Bob and Danielle have this little thing going, and Carolyn's like, you know, all over the place. And I'm, like, trying to just, you know, be as chill as possible until, you know, red flag number one. Bob tries to put Carolyn in the. In the coffin, you know? And I was like, ooh, that's not a good move. And he's a pretty smart guy. Like, he understands the strategy. And I was like, I don't think we should put Carolyn in. Let's pick someone else, you know? And then Danielle's targeting Jeremy. And I want to say something, but, like, I don't want to make waves. So I'm like, all right, I'll let that happen. But when he, like, targets me and Wes and Derek as the three Cage bros, and, like, he's like, we got to check them. At that point, I felt like, okay, this guy's directly coming at me now, so I'm gonna have to stand up and do something. I'm just not that guy to sit around.
Boston Rob
Right. And that you did. And poor Dylan Efron, who, you know, is trusting you with open arms.
Fran
Can I just say, I love Dylan. Yeah. Yeah. We played golf a few weeks ago in Vegas, and he is everything you see. He's just a good dude.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, we felt that. And watching, it's like. I'm sure you see it too now. Cause you're watching, and you can see, like, the confessionals and the other moments that they're having.
Fran
Ye.
Rhea
He was just so excited to work with you.
Fran
I could feel that, though, like, in the moment. You know what I mean? And it's genuine. So, like, at this point in the show now, he's like, my man.
Boston Rob
Yeah, right, right, right.
Fran
He's like. I was like, I got him together.
Boston Rob
Yeah. He's like, we got him together.
Rhea
When you. When you knew, like, okay, I'm gonna have to make a move on Bob. Was Dylan the first person that you thought, like, I should go talk to him about this.
Fran
So, like, I'm not just going to, like, go and make a move at Bob unless I feel like I can get enough people on board with me. And I gotta tell you, the Time that you have to maneuver in the castle after you come back from the challenge before. The roundtable is very short. You don't have a lot of time. So I was like, if I'm gonna make something happen, I gotta make it happen quick. And so Dylan, of course, was the first one. Yes, to answer your question. But also, I had to go to Danielle and Carolyn because I have to, like, I can't go and make this move unless, like, they know that this is gonna happen. And I kind of positioned it like it was everybody. It was happening without me. It wasn't me doing it. Danielle immediately pushed back. When she did, I was like, okay, no problem. Close the door on her. But we're still doing it, and I'm telling Carolyn we're doing this, you know, So I felt like at that point, I would be able to get the numbers. But then the roundtable starts going in a completely different direction, and they're focused on Sierra and Nikki. And I've already planted seeds in enough people that I know I have to make it go to Bob, and I have to make it go now, because if I don't, these other conversations that I just had are going to get back to Bob over the course of the next day, and I'm dead. So it's like, this is not the kind of guy that you can just, like, ease your way in and push it. It's like, I need to go and murder this guy. I need to kill him. And I see it's going a different direction. I just interrupted. I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa. You guys are all off track, you know? And at that point, it was actually, I think, even more intense than you guys saw in the edit, which is kind of crazy because we were back and forth. And to Bob's credit, like, I feel like he held his own really good. And he was such a good orator. Like, he could. Like, he could talk to you and everybody, and he could, you know, persuade and dissuade however he wanted. And I was fine with it until he was trying to get me for sure, you know.
Boston Rob
When you got him out, were you nervous about the fact that he would go up there and be like, and by the way, Rob's a traitor, or is that not allowed to happen?
Fran
So you're not supposed to do it? But he dropped some clues, and he actually dropped more clues than were shown? But, yeah, but, you know, I get it. Like, a lot of people that they're hurt, you know, and it was truly a blind side. Like, he didn't see it coming.
Rhea
Yeah, we talked about it on Monday's episode. We were talking about the episode too. I said just the like as you're speaking and you're looking at everybody and then you were just like, yeah, like the edit is just so good because you just like, you don't even say his name, you just look at him and then Bob is like, it's so good.
Boston Rob
The dramatics of the show. And also, you know, selfishly, we're big fans of Ciara so like the fact that it was going towards her and then you kind of, you know, got it towards Bob. I was like, thank God.
Rhea
And Nikki too.
Boston Rob
I was like, I was like, oh my God, they're targeting the wrong people. And you know, Wes logic made no.
Rhea
Sense for me on Nikki. It was like she's a wrestler, she likes theatrics. I was like, Wes, that's a tough sell, right?
Boston Rob
Meanwhile like I, I didn't, you know, even just watching the show, I'm like, I don't know how they're getting traitor's vibes from them but of course the edit, you know, you never know what's going on in there. But the episode was incredible. I loved the crowd reaction to just the little things that people picked up on. Like when Bob said to Dylan like not a good one when he said his brother was an actor. What was it like in the room when that was said?
Fran
Yeah, it was a little bit funny. Bob's really great. Like yeah, he is very quick witted. Like I could, you know, I watched him like do this and you got to realize like I wasn't. It's only been three days in the castle. I'm already coming in late, I'm already behind. Like it's like I'm playing catch up and I'm watching this guy just, you know, literally he's playing both sides so well from my point of view, you know, he's playing the faithful side well, he's playing the traitor side well. And I'm just like, wow, this guy's really good. I was like, but I could feel also that, I don't know how to explain like feel but like I could tell that like he didn't want me there for a long time.
Rhea
Well, do you think that in a group, like because the group of traders is so small, do you think that having to really like he is, he was like you said, playing both sides, really good at it and he voices opinion a lot. Do you find it would have been like kind of hard to continue to be a traitor with Him.
Fran
Well, yeah. And I, I do. And I think like, like you said in the beginning, like, you know, people are going to be suspicious that I'm a trader.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Right. There's a lot of different dynamics from a game point view, point of view going on. Like, if you look at, like the meta, like you look at the three people in the coffin, you're like, well, why would those other two people the season before, like, they had the option to put other traders in the coffin, like, who would be so bold to do that? So I think that's what Wes was saying. Between Wes and Sierra, obviously they're going to look at myself and Derek and Wes in the cage. Wes is a smart player. Bob the drag queen's really smart. Derek smart. Tony and Jeremy, like, these guys, they understand. So it's like you're not there with a bunch of fish.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
You know, like, you really have to. To work. And I think, like, Bob was someone that, you know, eventually what was gonna happen was gonna happen. It didn't need to happen as early as it did until he forced it. In my mind, he forced it. And when he did, I mean, that's it. You can't put that back. Like, it's out and now I have to kill you.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like the end.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
Yep.
Boston Rob
Does Tony still hold hard feelings towards you?
Fran
I guess.
Boston Rob
I think so. Right. I heard. I heard a little bit of him.
Fran
Talking about it, which surprises me because Tony's a gamer. Tony's a good player. He's gonna get over it. But I mean, like, he has been like a little bit, you know, a little salty.
Boston Rob
Salty is a nice way to say it.
Rhea
I was gonna try it.
Fran
I understand what he means. Right. So, like, from a theoretical point of view, yes, if you have numbers and keep the numbers together, it makes sense. But at the same time, maybe I give Tony too much credit and that I thought he must realize that he's such a big presence and a big player, that if he's not a trader, surely it has to be me.
Boston Rob
Right.
Fran
So, I mean, he. What he's saying is his view from his eyes and his lens and not seeing it through my lens. So the argument was that, like, oh, I crushed him at the round table. I was like, well, yeah, I did, but I was forced to because where else was I gonna go? Like, what you didn't see? Bob Harper, like, pushed me and he was like, so, Rob, what do you think? You know, like, because I was totally keeping my mouth shut and I wasn't gonna say anything when he did I told him about, you know, giving him the shield, which I did. And then, you know, him. But I mean, like, so at that point, who do I vote for? I either kill Tony where everybody else is going that way, like, true to form, everybody was going that way, or I throw a vote towards Bob, like at that point, no chance. Or I make an enemy with somebody else.
Boston Rob
Right.
Fran
Which doesn't make sense.
Boston Rob
Exact. And in theory it's nice to think, oh, Survivor, we stick together. But like, you don't have to just because you guys were both on Survivor and like, ultimately when you get towards the end, you're gonna have to go for each other anyway. So, yeah, it doesn't really matter at that point too. And also the housewives like, them sticking together. Like they have a target on their back as people are like, well, one of them must be a traitor. They're all sticking together. They're all protecting each other. So.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
What did you think about Danielle gunning so hard for Jeremy? Because I thought like just from that move, I was like, jeremy's the only one that has brought up Danielle's name at that point. And I was like, this feels like an obvious shot.
Fran
Yeah. So Danielle, like, in my opinion, like her Traders game, Trader game is not so strong. Like, it's just, you know, like, I get it but like somebody said your name, you want to eliminate them. But it also, like could come back to get you too when there's only.
Rhea
One person saying your name and then you're like, that person leaves. I just feel like that's.
Fran
Yeah. And like it's been shopped around to a couple different people already.
Rhea
Exactly.
Fran
You know, I just, I feel like because I was late to the game, I was a fourth trader into the turret, I felt like her and Bob had already initially created a bond that it was going to be the two of them and they were going to figure out a way to work together. Carolyn's on the outside. I know of Carolyn at this point. I don't know Carolyn. And Carolyn's a handful, you know, like, she, like, she's great. Like, don't get me wrong. But like when you don't have time to sit down and have a one on one and get to know someone, you got to make quick judgments and like she's not giving me what I need as a, you know, Right. Alliance partner or whatever. So I really do feel like I'm out there, especially now there's only three of us and if we were to supposedly lose one more, which I'm not saying we are. But if we were right, let's look at that situation, then of course they're gonna think that they're gonna recruit. And if I am a faithful, who's public enemy number one to recruit? It's me. So now it's my job to make this three ring circus a happy home.
Rhea
And it's not easy, right? That is very true.
Boston Rob
I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next episode. I think every.
Rhea
Everybody is, but totally is. What's it like kind of going through these challenges with everybody in the house? Cause everybody's from such different backgrounds. People who have been through challenges before on different shows. I mean, you know, the housewives aren't out here doing physical challenges on their shows. So what's it like? Kind of trying to get everybody to work together so that you can collect this money?
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
So the last challenge didn't go so well.
Fran
I'm gonna give you the real answer to your question, which a lot of people probably don't want to hear. But the challenges don't really mean a lot lot in Traders.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like, you're adding money but, like, at the end of the day. And I think they'll change this in the future. They'll make more consequences and, like, you know, advantages. But it's not like on Dealer, no Deal island or like in Survivor where like those challenges really have repercussions.
Rhea
So no Deal island, the money, like, it's just. You're working with a bigger.
Boston Rob
Yeah, yeah.
Fran
Well, I mean, Traders is like anything of a. Ever I haven't ever done before. You know, it's. It's like truly like, you know, the girls are in hair and makeup and.
Rhea
They'Re doing fashion like people say it is. It has much more of a, like a campy feeling.
Boston Rob
It is also like the round table is like, where it really comes together. For me.
Fran
That's a.
Boston Rob
It's like everyone having to talk it out loud in front of each other, I think is just an incredible aspect of the show where you're right. Like, the challenges may not mean as much. I mean, we watch you on Deal or no Deal island, obviously watch you on Survival. What made you want to do the other shows? Like, have you. Were you kind of like, I'm kind of done with Survivor. I want to maybe.
Fran
I mean, Survivor is great. I love Survivor. Like, it's. It's like giving me the platform to be able to do other things for sure. Like, it'll always be like, you know, what I'm known for in the beginning Dealer no deal Island. Truthfully, like, they asked me, and, like, I. I didn't really. I wasn't gung ho at first, but then once I found out the concept I want, I found out that I would be able to like, like, kind of figure out the strategy and shape the way the game's played from the beginning. And it was gonna be the first season of the show, I was more interested. And then I'm obviously happy I did it. It was great. Didn't end up the way I wanted, but it was such a fun experience, and traders have been asking me for a while to do it. And, you know, again, it's something that, like, outside of my comfort zone, something different. It's hard for me just because of who I am. Right. Like, I go into that castle and I know Tony and Jeremy, and that was it. I knew of Carolyn, but like every other person that not everyone, but a lot of them know who I am for sure. So, like, that target's so big. So to be able to go into these competition reality shows and figure out, like, a new way to do something or a new. A new trick in my bag, like, it's challenging, but it's also, you know.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Not easy.
Boston Rob
Right. Because even if. If somebody hasn't watched Survivor before, they've heard of you. Like, they. They. They know Boston Rob. So, like, maybe somebody hasn't watched their. Your season, but they're like, we know we should look out for him.
Rhea
Don't worry. He's got Dylan running around.
Boston Rob
Yeah. Dylan Efron is telling everybody all about, leave Dylan alone.
Fran
That's my guy. Don't mess with Dylan.
Boston Rob
We want Dylan. We got.
Rhea
Zac Efron is on our star.
Boston Rob
Yeah. We have a picture of Zac Efron to support him as a great actor.
Rhea
Big fan.
Boston Rob
He is a great actor as Gloria.
Rhea
Big fans of the Efrons in this studio.
Boston Rob
We are. And we want Dylan to come on the show so we can talk to him too. But with Survivor, like you said, it's hard for you to go onto a show now and people not know, would you do another season? But it would have to be a bunch of people have played before.
Fran
Yeah. So, like, they're getting ready to do the 50th season, and Jeff called me, like, last summer, and we had a conversation about it, and I just feel like I've done everything I wanted to do in the Survivor space. Like, as far as playing, like, to go back and just go through the motions again, doesn't feel like it makes sense. You know, I Won the show. I met my wife on the show. I got to play with all the winners. Like, I've lost the show. I've done all different things.
Boston Rob
You've had a big statue of your face on the show.
Fran
I've had a big statue of my face, which is ridiculous, but still pretty awesome. So, I mean, I don't know if there's another way to be involved in the 50th season to help celebrate it. I'm open to that. But as far as, like, just going back to play again, I don't need that.
Boston Rob
You're like, my legacy is there.
Fran
I mean, it kind of.
Boston Rob
Yeah, but not kind of.
Rhea
Absolutely is. Absolutely is. From back to the. All the way to the beginning for a second. We. It's funny because the. Our listeners don't. Well, Parvati was just recording with us, and people will be able to listen to that this week as well. But we were talking to her just about those initial audition, like, casting processes and everything. And she did mention that you. She said, like, oh, Rob's got a funny story about, like, getting cast on.
Boston Rob
Being in the hotel.
Rhea
Being in the hotel. Do you know what she's talking about?
Fran
Maybe.
Rhea
Did she tell her story? She was like, ask Rob about it.
Fran
Very funny story. We'll talk about it next time.
Rhea
All right, well, then what.
Boston Rob
It's now we're left on a cliffhanger from poverty and Rob.
Rhea
From poverty and Rob. We'll have to love to figure out what it was, but that's. What was. What was the. What was the year when you were cast for Survivor?
Fran
I believe it was 2001.
Rhea
Okay.
Fran
I remember 9. 11 had just happened, and we were still in casting for the final 50. Ironically, like, my flight going to LA for that final 50. Casting was like the American Airlines flight 11 one week later to the day, like on the 18th. Yeah. And I was, like, really, like, paranoid. I didn't realize. Every Tuesday morning at this time is flight 11.
Noah
Right.
Fran
So we ended up, like, switching and going through Rhode island instead, and we flew out there. And originally that first season was supposed to be held. A lot of people don't know this either. Was supposed to be held in Saudi Arabia. It was supposed to be Survivor. The Middle East.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And because of everything that happened, they switched it last minute to the Marquesa. Silence. And, you know, I didn't do that great that first season. I think I understood the strategy better than the other people. But, like, I got swabbed. There was a tribe swap, and I got, you know, I messed up And I got out. But I made enough of an impression that, like, when they did the All Star season a few years later, I got the invite.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And I remember I was maybe 25, 26 years old at the time, and I was like, man, if I got another chance, I'm going back. And I'm not taking any prisoners.
Rhea
There you go.
Fran
And I did a lot of.
Rhea
A lot of salty people, but it.
Fran
Worked out for me.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
That's just the name. That's just the name of the game.
Fran
That's what I was saying to you.
Rhea
Ria, like, trying to say for a week, I'm like. I'm like, you won. Everyone's going to be pissed. You won. You took the money.
Fran
Let me tell you. They love you or they're jealous.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Thank you.
Fran
That's it. And you tell them.
Boston Rob
I told them that we got to clip that clip. That's from Boston Rob himself. But I think, you know, now people are seeing. You know, I'm sure your daughters have shown you. We just talked about this, the edits. But this story with Amber and you proposing at the finale.
Fran
Yeah.
Boston Rob
What was going through your mind when you did that? Like, were you so nervous that she was going to be like, what the hell? I mean, she was wearing an I heart Rob shirt. So, you know, which she didn't.
Fran
Which I didn't know she had on until the very last second in the green room. She took it off. She, like, switched shirts. But, yeah, it was a good hedge, right?
Boston Rob
Yes.
Fran
Thank God. I'm just kidding. You know, we're going to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary in April.
Boston Rob
Oh, that's amazing. Congrats.
Fran
So. Thank you. April, what, 16.
Boston Rob
Nice.
Fran
Yeah. So I think, you know, it worked out the way it was supposed to.
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Well, that's amazing. Congratulations.
Rhea
Thanks.
Boston Rob
It's just an incredible story because, like you said, you won, you found the love of your life. You lost. Also, big statues.
Fran
Four daughters.
Boston Rob
Four daughters.
Fran
Four kids. Oh, I love right now they're watching all of this and, like, they. They could not care one bit about me, you know, like, not. Not that they don't care, but, like, you know, they're.
Rhea
They're watching traitors and everything. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Boston Rob
Do you think they're rooting, like, a little bit?
Fran
No, no, they're not. They're not. They're rooting for me, but they're always like, I'm always embarrassing them, like, every time I do something.
Rhea
Do they have any favorites me besides you?
Fran
They like Dylan. Yeah, yeah, of course they do.
Boston Rob
We grew up with Zach. They're growing up with Dylan, so I.
Fran
Think that's about it.
Rhea
Yeah, right. And Dylan likes you, so that makes sense. And it's. I would imagine there's a lot of other shows that these people are from that they don't fully know who these people are.
Fran
And I didn't either, you know, so, like, to me, like, I formed a great relationship with Chrishell and with Nikki. They didn't show it last episode, but we worked really well together, like, getting the heads up on top of the statues. And Sierra, too. Sierra, Chrishell, Nikki, Dylan. All four of them I became pretty good friends with. And we weren't like, you know, I didn't know of them or their shows or anything after.
Boston Rob
Yeah, that's awesome. I cannot wait, Like, I already mentioned the rest of this season. It's already off to such a good start, and I can't wait to see where it ends up. And I think, you know, we can't. And I don't even want to look at your face. I don't want to see what happens. But, like, I don't think you can read me.
Fran
You won one show and all of a sudden you got the skills, right?
Rhea
Not like that.
Boston Rob
Not like that. Not like that. I just. I didn't even mean to show you that.
Fran
One show, one little Surviving Barstool, and all of a sudden.
Boston Rob
I didn't mean it like that. I just meant I don't want to know if you go home.
Rhea
Oh, my God. That's.
Boston Rob
No, I certainly don't think that about myself.
Rhea
I do. Wait, I do want to ask.
Boston Rob
Okay, so you have an idea. You just brought it up. But, like, when you hear about Surviving Barstool, you're like, this is a joke. Like, honestly, the first time I watched.
Fran
It a little bit, and then. Then I haven't seen the ending. Like, I obviously know that you won and everything, but I became more invested in it this time.
Rhea
Yeah, for sure.
Boston Rob
Like, did you watch a different season before this one?
Fran
Yeah. Have there only been two? Have there been more than two? Okay. No. So then I probably have seen either the last two or the first one and this one.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, probably.
Boston Rob
This one was amped up a lot. This was, like, on a lot.
Rhea
They've also raised the. The prize pot has gone up substantially since they started.
Fran
I don't want to, like, officially form an alliance with you on air because I don't want anybody else, like, hear about that, but we'll talk later.
Boston Rob
Well, you met Tommy Smokes.
Fran
I did.
Boston Rob
He's like, Survivor Fanatic and Survivor podcast. Yeah, he thinks. Yeah. And Tommy, he thinks he's like the best of the best.
Fran
Yeah, that's what he said to me. Yeah.
Rhea
I mean, he would actually, like, cut off a limb, I think, to go on. Actually go on the show.
Fran
Oh, yeah. Has he ever applied?
Boston Rob
No, he's tried. He's like someone.
Rhea
He's tried a lot of avenues. He's trying now.
Boston Rob
He's trying to just get on every other show so that he can get to Survivor. But he.
Fran
He's like, that's not the way to do it.
Boston Rob
I mean, no one has casted him on another show. It's not like he's gotten to those and then done it.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Maybe we gotta have a one on one.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Noah
You.
Boston Rob
You do. Because he would do literally anything to be on Survivor. Like, truly anything.
Rhea
So my last question was, did you have any. Have you had any interaction with Bob since the end of the show?
Fran
Bob the drag Queen?
Rhea
Yeah.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Fran
No. I mean, I sent him a message the other night after it was over and just said, you know, like it was out of big respect, you know, and he just responded like, with a heart back. So, like, I think Bob is definitely the type of person that understands the game, understands it was game and, you know, didn't work out the way he wanted. But I feel like if I didn't get him, then it wouldn't be soon before he was coming after me.
Rhea
Totally.
Fran
Sure.
Rhea
I think that's. I think that's very fair.
Boston Rob
Have you had to send those messages a lot in the past after shows?
Fran
I don't, I don't.
Boston Rob
Or you kind of just like, it's like.
Fran
Honestly, the only reason I sent it to Bob was like, because truly, like, I, like I hadn't had any interaction with them to like, you know, I talk about it, but I wanted them to know was because out of respect. Respect and No, I don't. I mean, like, I separate it. No problem. It's a game.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like, you go, you play and like some people, like, it's more than just a game. Like, I get it, but like, it's not like you can't let them live rent free in your head. It has to be the other way around.
Rhea
Okay, that's good. Look at me.
Fran
You better point your face and be proud.
Rhea
I am proud. Exactly.
Boston Rob
I am. I am proud.
Rhea
Exactly.
Boston Rob
For sure.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
You guys came in. You guys came in here at the right time.
Boston Rob
You did. You definitely you in. Parvati came in at the right time.
Fran
What did she say?
Boston Rob
She said the same thing.
Rhea
She's.
Boston Rob
She said that, you know, you won, so.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah.
Fran
But not only did you win, you won fair and square, playing within the rules of the game. You know what I mean? Like, whatever.
Boston Rob
Right. People did vote for me.
Fran
You know, go and get some boxes of Kleenex, and every single person that is, like, weird to you, just, like, put one on their desk.
Boston Rob
Well, it's not even the people here. It's honestly not the people here. Like, it's just like, the reaction in.
Fran
General, but, like, social media.
Boston Rob
Yeah, like that sort of thing. But it is. Yeah, no, it's. They're crying because I was crying, but I'm like, you're crying? You know, that whole thing.
Fran
See, I think, like, because the Internet was, like, brand new when I first started doing these shows, I don't have that same, like, reaction to social media.
Rhea
Right, right, right. That is true. And I also feel like it's been. Now the respect is on your name as a player so much that it's like people are like, okay, there it is. Cause it's like those first few seasons, who knows what social media really does change? It just can be so effective. Cause it really does. And it's like, you could play a great game. And even on these shows that are on now, you know, if social media loves you casting, they'll want you on other shows, they'll want you doing this. So it's crazy.
Fran
But, like, truly, like, a long time ago, I wrote a book called the Boston Rob rule book. And rule number one in the book is you have to know who you are, know yourself. And like these shows, Survivor, Dillon, O'Dill island, the traders. Surviving Barstool is not the place where you go to figure out who you are as a person. And if you're using feedback and life lessons from that, you're gonna miss the boat. Okay. It's gonna leave you at the shore. You have to know who you are.
Boston Rob
Because that's not real life. Like, those are key.
Fran
Exactly.
Boston Rob
Right?
Fran
So, like, I mean, that's just it. You can't. You can't let the haters, like, you.
Boston Rob
Know, you said it before.
Fran
Yeah, they hate you.
Rhea
They're jealous.
Fran
They're jealous.
Rhea
So, all right, they love you or they're jealous.
Boston Rob
They hate you and they're jealous.
Rhea
Both things. Oh, Rob, thank you so much.
Boston Rob
Yes, thank you so much.
Rhea
We're so excited to watch the rest of the season of the Traders and see what happens Thursday nights on Peacock. 9:00 Eastern, I believe. Yes. Which I really? Like, I. I like, refresh Peacock on Thursday nights until I know that the show sometimes, you know, it's like, maybe a little earlier. I'm like, come on, come on.
Boston Rob
Couple minutes early. They put it on.
Rhea
I know. So we are. We're so locked in. Everybody is. It's been great. This past episode was. Was fantastic. So.
Fran
And Deal or no Deal island after show.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Wednesdays. So that's how I originally found out about you two girls. I saw the interview you did with Joe Manganiello.
Rhea
Yeah. Last season.
Boston Rob
Who's also a big fan of Traders.
Fran
Yeah, he is. We talked the other night. He called me, like, Friday morning for, like an hour. We talked on the phone.
Rhea
But he's awesome. And he really is a fan, too. So he, like, probably just wanted to pick your brain about.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
About the show and everything, but that's incredible.
Boston Rob
Wow. It all comes. Thank you, Joe, for leading boss of Rob.
Rhea
Are you. Are you rooting for poverty on Dealer? No deal Islands?
Fran
Of course.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah. Want to make sure.
Boston Rob
Yeah, yeah. Love it.
Rhea
And that's. And we were talking about. That's Tuesdays on. On.
Boston Rob
On Peacock. There's a great lineup going on right now.
Rhea
Peacock has it all.
Boston Rob
Yeah.
Rhea
We've been truly for.
Boston Rob
We're big fans of Peacock. It sounds like we're really sucking up to Peacock, but. We really are.
Rhea
Well, that's because we also are.
Boston Rob
We are. Yeah, we. We definitely are. Exactly. So thank you, Peacock. And thank you, Rob.
Rhea
You're welcome.
Fran
Thank you, girls.
Boston Rob
All right, that wraps up today's episode of Chicks in the Office. Thank you so much for watching and listening. We love you guys so very much, and we will talk to you on Friday.
