It's Chicks in the office with Brianne Fran giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. Happy Wednesday everybody. We are back from the long weekend. Hopefully you had yourself a nice weekend and we're ready to get started with this week on Thursday we'll be coming to you Savannah, Georgia. We will be at the Peregrine at the Perry Lane Hotel for a little Rum Haven cocktail hour from 5 to 7pm so make sure you come hang out. We always have a blast in Charleston. We had such a friggin blast. Dancing, drinking, having a good time. So make sure you come see us because we want to see you. All right everybody, welcome back. How are we feeling today?
Rhea
Good. It was a lovely long weekend. Really felt like I was holding on to summer. We've had some amazing weather and I mean not to immediately be a downer. Cause it's like I didn't have a great. My weekend was lovely, but I didn't have a great weekend. But you know, big thanks to Kelly and Matt too for jumping on Friday. We were recording Friday's episode and literally halfway through I got a call from my mom and I didn't answer her initially. I got the call ASAP text. And you know when you get that text it's like something bad has happened. And sadly we lost our, our family dog, Floating, who was just like the most special dog. And we loved her a lot. So it's just really, really sucks. She, you know, we thought she, we thought she was 10 years, you know, like with rescues. It's like did we ever really know? Unsure.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
But it was just really sudden. We had, we're under the impression that you know, she was pretty healthy. So it just took us all really like by surprise. A massive, massive gut punch. It's just, she was just really just float. Was the sweetest, the sweetest angel. And we've been so sad. My, you know, my family bit, she, you know, we got Lola when she was a puppy. That was in 2015 and Lola was such an insane, like she was just a puppy. She was a puppy with a lot of energy. We were like, what if we got another dog? Like this could really help. And we adopted Flo a year like a year later. So 2016, we got Flo in May and she was just the perfect addition. She really was like the sweetest dog we ever had. We had never experienced like a dog like Flo before really because we grew up with a Wheaton terrier. She was awesome but at the same time like she was not cuddle on the couch, hang with you. Like she was like, leave me the fuck alone. I'm. This is my spot. Like that was her vibe. Lola's definitely, you know, different but Flo just wanted attention from everyone, wanted to snuggle, wanted to be pet. She was really just an absolute angel. And it's just my poor parents, you know, it just like rips up their little life that they have with their, with their dog, with the dogs and they keep them active and like, you know, fun things that they do. With them. And, and so it's just. Yeah. It was tried to make the most out of a weekend that started off very, very sad for, for all of us. And I was honestly also so happy that Olive got to go up.
Fran
Yes.
Rhea
And meet Flo and Lola. When I went up for a wedding last month and we were able to bring Olive with us and they could all hang out and see each other, which was so nice.
Fran
But like having those videos and pictures.
Rhea
Yeah, exactly. And you know, we've just been sending pictures and videos like in our family group chat all weekend. And just like, you know, my, they just keep. My dad just keeps like the same thing. Gia did it too. I was like, oh my God, guys. Like it's sad already. Like don't make it. You know, I'm like, Gia post a picture on her story. The two dogs at the door when she's leaving. And then she posted one that was just Lola. I was like, ah. I was like, kidding me? Like, this is so sad. Oh my God, it's so sad. And yeah, no, I was, I was, I was a wreck for half the weekend. And I've been trying like not to cry thinking about, I have this adorable picture of Flo and Lola in my apartment too. And like when I walked into my apartment last night, I was like, but you know, it's just, it's sad. It's one of those things. And everyone always says it, but we, we unfortunately don't get our dogs for as long as. As we want to have them. And they're so special and they change really so much about your life in the best way. And she was such an amazing part of our family and we will miss her very much. So then, you know, I was out in, on Long island with Joe's. Joe's family with my. And my brother and sister in law were both here with all their kids. We had a big weekend. It was really, it was good. It was a fun distraction. A lot of kid time, lot of running around beach. And like I said, it was a stunning weekend. So, so, so that was really, really nice. And now we're back in the swing of things back. You know, you come back from Labor Day weekend. Even though we're not in school, it still feels like we're going back to school. Like we, I feel like we wore like first day back at school outfits. Like we were like trying to be cute today. We were like, this is going to be good. We're excited. But you had a Jersey shore weekend that looked like such a blast. You stayed In a new town you've never stayed in before.
Fran
Right? Because I feel like I've stayed in every Jersey shore town at this point. But this time we stayed in Lavalette, like, genuinely one of the best weekends of my life. Like, I'm not even kidding. I seriously had a thousand million out of 10, like, experience in Lavalette. I know I sound silly because everyone's listening, or a lot of people have listened right now are like, yeah, you've been missing out, like. But I had never really spent time there at the Jersey Shore. But I've spent time in other towns at the Jersey Shore. But it really was honestly so fantastic with Matt and our friends and really just like, all of it. You know, we got relaxation because the house was right on the beach. So that obviously adds about 10 points to the whole experience as a whole. But house was right on the beach. Our bedroom, you know, was facing the ocean and. And the sand. And we woke up every morning at sunrise and watched the sunrise. We watched dolphins. Like, I have videos of dolphins in the ocean. I'm like, this is just magical. This is magical.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
So that was absolutely stunning. And then on top of that, got to go to some bars that I love at the shore, you know, Jenks, obviously. So that was a lot of fun. And then you guys go to any.
Rhea
Of the bars in Lavalette.
Fran
Um, so I obviously was sick last week. I talked about that. And one night a couple of our friends went to Castaways, which is just like a good, you know, pub type spot. And although I heard the live music and wanted to be a part of it, I was trying to rest. Yeah, you needed a reflect for Saturday when more friends were coming in to do the big janx night and everything. So I only went out one night of the whole weekend, from Thursday to Monday. Cause I really just wanted to, like, relax and reset and not get sick. Because that was the point of the weekend, was to relax. But it was really just, honestly, just so, so much fun. We played a lot of games, you know, drinking, sitting by the beach, good food, people cooked a little bit. We got takeout a little bit. Like a good mixture of all that. Like, honestly just freaking incredible. Like, me and Matt almost cried leaving yesterday. Like, we were like, wow. Like, yeah, this was just the perfect end of the summer, like, with our friends and everything. Like, I'm glad I came together.
Rhea
Like, it was really a last minute thing for you guys, which is so nice that it, like, worked out super.
Fran
Last minute because I didn't. Labor Day weekend didn't exist. In my brain as of last weekend. So how this all came together last minute was really, really nice. And just like. I just love, like, you know, some quiet time. Phone away on our daily walks. Just good, good, you know, quality time. That's. That's what it's all about. And that's. That's what we had. And it was really, really perfect.
Rhea
I saw those Taylor Hammond cheeses. I was so.
Fran
Oh, my God. It. Literally.
Rhea
Nothing's better.
Fran
So good. Shout out. Lava Java. What a place. Like, I've now I'm going to become a Lavalette local. Like, I don't know if you guys will accept me, anybody who spends time there, but I would like to be accepted there because I was like, matt, life goal, we gotta get a house here.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
You know what I mean?
Rhea
You were texting me and Joe, like, Lavales the place. Like, we're gonna. This is. This is where we want to be.
Fran
Yeah. I was like, I. Like, I just didn't want to leave. I'm already looking at. We were like, should we rent a house? Like, we should do next summer? Well, we were thinking, like, for a whole month, because, I mean, I just fell in love with the place. It's just the cutest towel. It's gorgeous. It's, like, cute and quaint. And the people, the neighbors were like, so awesome. They saw. Because I saw a neighbor a couple houses down. They had a fire pit that they put into the sand, like, right outside their house in the backyard. I was like, guys, we gotta go pick up a fire pit. We picked one up for 50 bucks, put it in the ground. And I was like, look at how much we just fucking leveled up in this place with this fire pit. So we're sitting around the fire pit, we're having a couple of drinks, we're playing games. Just the jokes are flowing. The neighbors next door, they come by with some cake. You know, they're like, oh, here's a little cake. I was like, oh, my God, I live here now.
Rhea
Yeah. Like, I.
Fran
This is. This is where I live. Yeah. And it re. It reassured me as to why I won't return to the Hamptons or Montauk because I belong at the Jersey Shore. And it was just. It was spectacular. So really, really happy that that happened and just such a good time with our friends and just everyone being able to be together. This past weekend was. Was really, really nice, but obviously a very sad start to your weekend. And honestly, my heart hurt for you and your family so much. But if you want to laugh just a Little bit. Thursday night I had a dream that I was looking for a gift for you to, like, make you feel better. And I swear to God, I woke up, I wrote this down on my notes. Cause I was like, the fact that. That I had this dream is sick. I found a, like, squishy stuffed animal. Conrad, from the summer I turned pretty. And when you pull the string, he's like, I still love you. Like, it was all the sayings from episode seven from the show. I still don't be with him. Be with me. Like, every time. You pull.
Rhea
Don't marry him.
Fran
Yes. No, literally, you pull the string. All the sayings like that, man, they.
Rhea
They should, like, they should know. They should do that.
Fran
That's the dream I had. There was anyone. I went to bed, I was like, like, looking for a gift for you. And that's. That's what the gift was.
Rhea
No. You know, and sometimes you do have to. You know. Have you been seeing the. Have you been seeing the tiktoks of this kid? The little kid coupe on the stoop? No.
Fran
No.
Rhea
It's not on your for you page?
Fran
No.
Rhea
Well, this. Let me tell you, this kid's taking over TikTok. It is this little kid, little boy. He's like a toddler. And his dad walks him out down the street, down their little street every morning. And he sits at the end of the block. And some mornings.
Noah
Oh, I have seen this.
Rhea
He sits on the. On the stoop. And some mornings he does. You remember bones and no bones with the.
Fran
With the.
Rhea
Like. It's very similar to that vibe where it's like, is Coop gonna sit on the stoop or is he gonna sit in his chair? Sometimes there's a fake out. He goes to sit on the stoop, but then he sits in the chair because on mornings the stoop is wet. So. So they're like, ooh, wet stoop. Will he sit? Will he not? I went back and I was watching them, and Thursday morning there was like. It was like chaos on the stoop. Like, he faked out. Everybody almost sat down. They sat in the chair. And all the comments were like, what is this gonna do for my day? And, like, in my morbid I have to make a joke vibe, I was like, there goes Flo. Coop didn't sit on the stoop. Coop didn't sit on the. Coop didn't sit on the stoop.
Fran
Coop. Way to go.
Rhea
And my day went to sh. But he's taking over TikTok right now. Coupon the stoop. If you haven't seen him. You can search. It's. It's crazy how TikTok feeds these videos out to people because if you look at like the account, the dad's account doesn't have, you know, millions and millions of followers. It is growing rapidly, but it's still like in the hundred thousand number. The last like last week was like 50 something. But the videos all have millions of views. So it's like everybody is just being fed on their for your page when they wake up. What is Coop doing with Stoop? The Eagles made a parody video because they have a player Cooper de Ghost and they were like, Coop on the stoop.
Fran
Wow. I can look at this. I have. I'll show you Coop. Somebody coming up on my TikTok for you page. That has been quite terrifying. Oh no. Do you know who I am? The real Mr. Fantasy is.
Rhea
Oh, KJ Apa's weird thing.
Fran
KJ Apa's TikTok that like all the.
Rhea
Comments are like, is this KJ Apple? It's like, obviously it is.
Fran
It's 1,000%.
Rhea
But why are all the comments acting like it could not be him?
Fran
Because I mean, it could like, I don't know, his face. It's obviously KJ Appa. But like the teeth and everything. The first time one of these videos.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Terrifying. It was the middle of night for me.
Rhea
Oh, no. And when a tough time to see that.
Fran
Tough time to see it. And you know what? Like middle of the night, you see anything, it's scary. Yeah, anything. And I literally close out the app. Like I literally had to close out TikTok because of how terrified I was the next morning. I didn't know it was KJ Apple. I just thought it was a freaky man on my TikTok and closed out.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Next morning I'm back on my TikTok and I'm like seeing people talk about KJ Appa. I'm like, you're telling me when I was frightened in the middle of the night last night, that was fucking KJ Appa. And then I just went down a rabbit hole of all of these TikToks. I'm like, what the hell is going on?
Rhea
I'm not sure what he's doing.
Fran
People think it might be like him promoting a movie of some sort or he's just. Just let those creative juices letting those freak flags fly. I mean, listen, when you're famous and you want to go out in public and do your thing, I mean, have.
Rhea
You been getting the ones of other people filming him?
Fran
No.
Rhea
I got one that. I got that one last night. It was like someone spotted him in the public dressed as this character, and he was like, was he on a swing? It was on a swing.
Fran
Okay, I saw that. Okay. I thought that was planted by him. Like, I'm not. Oh, I don't know.
Rhea
I didn't. I. I just thought it was like, someone being like, wait, is this him? But maybe it was. I don't know.
Fran
He was doing flips on a swing.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Yeah, I thought that was planted by KJ Appa.
Rhea
I don't know. But it's. It runs deep.
Fran
It is deep. And it's honestly really freaky. But that's what my TikTok for you pages right now. Noah went skydiving this morning, but we have a separate segment for that, so we'll get into that with Joey and Kelsey. Uh, besides that, how was the rest of your weekend?
Noah
Great. Checked the other. Another thing off the list. I went to the baseball game. Sat.
Fran
Yes.
Noah
Directly behind home plate. Shout out.
Rhea
Couldn't have been more direct.
Noah
I mean, yeah, it was shocking, like, to. To be that close. Cause I really, you know, you think like, oh, front row. Like, you're probably somewhere in the front section. But it was. You can't get closer.
Fran
You were the seat.
Rhea
And like, you walk down these steps. There's just one seat. Yeah, that was it.
Noah
And my family was, like, truly set us up with, like, another suite, too. So we had two seats behind home plate. So I would, like, cycle, like, a few innings went by, cycle a new family member in. And I was sitting next to, like, a Boston legend, which I didn't know at the time. Oh, he's just this older man sitting next to me. And I could tell, like, everyone knew him. And, like, he was somewhat. It's his usual seat. He had, like, the thing on. There were, like, little TV monitors in front of the. Like, in front of us in the wall. And he was controlling them with his phone. And, like, people are coming up to him, like, asking for what else he wants and all this stuff. But then after the fact, when I posted the post, everyone was like, that's Dennis Drinkwater. Like, he's gone to every Red Sox game, sat in that seat for the last, like, 30 years.
Rhea
What a name.
Noah
Dennis Drinkwater. Like, the name is crazy. Yeah, Seriously, I should show you the tick tock. But he's. I mean, he's famous for going to every game. He, like, created this company that he has, a glass company, and he put glass up in Fenway. So they gave Him. These seats, like, for life. It is like, kind of like Fever Pitch. Ish. But.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Yeah. So. So his last name is Drink Water and he. And he has a glass company.
Noah
Yeah.
Fran
Very smart.
Rhea
Smart. That's genius. I mean, that's. What else do you do? And they.
Noah
They like when they. He set up a deal where he'd be, like, a sponsor for Fenway, and he, like, did all the glass in Fenway, and they, like, gave him this choice anywhere in the whole stadium. Like, you pick the seats, and he picked those. But he's famous for. Which I think is great. I sent this to Mario.
Rhea
What other seats would you pick?
Noah
Like, well, I guess, like, some. Like, some people might be like, oh, I want a Swede. Or like, I want, like.
Rhea
Yeah. Yes, I suppose.
Noah
But he's famous for beating the traffic at every game. So he, like, even in the playoffs, like, there's videos where, like, if there's a walk off homer, when it cuts back, he's gone. Like, he's perfected it. He's gone to so many games where.
Rhea
Like, he knows the exact right moment.
Noah
So I remember him leaving. I mean, this was like a blowout game. But he was like. It was the eighth inning and he left. And I'm like, if I hadn't known. I was like, witnessing history.
Fran
Witnessing history.
Rhea
Watched him walk out.
Noah
Yeah. But he did, like, look over to me, like, in the first inning. Be like, how'd you get these seats?
Fran
Like.
Noah
Cause he's like, who are these kids?
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
Um. But yeah, it was awesome. Uh, so shout out. Truly?
Rhea
Cause, yeah.
Fran
That's huge.
Rhea
That's huge.
Fran
That's amazing.
Noah
That was.
Rhea
I wonder who, like, normally has those seats or if they just.
Noah
I know. And then the thing was, I was watching the Red Sox game yesterday, and Dennis was in my seat, the seat that I was.
Fran
So maybe he moves, like.
Rhea
Maybe he moves around.
Fran
He goes back and forth.
Rhea
What's available.
Noah
Yeah, but my seat was just funny because it was the only seat where there's no one behind you. It's just an aisle. So it just looks like you're just sitting on the stairs.
Rhea
You know, it looks like a spotlight. Like it's like a spot.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Like a staircase. But it's just a spotlight. Right.
Fran
Seat, like the seat you want to be.
Noah
And, like, since those TVs are playing the game in front of you, it's like on a three second delay. It's so hard to not just be like. You just see yourself the whole time. Like, what you did three.
Fran
Yeah. You're like, oh, I'm watching myself. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, big shout out to Truly for that. That's amazing.
Rhea
That's amazing.
Fran
That's awesome.
Rhea
Good, good. All right, let's. Let's bring Joey and Kelsey in.
Fran
Yeah, let's get into a little skydiving recap. Abercrombie is an official fashion partner of the NFL. Gear for all teams is available. You could start with their Sunday crew oversized sweatshirt. They also have so many different options while it's still hot out. You got the no bra camis. You got the no bra dresses. They're so perfect. And talk about an outfit. Game changer. They have it all. You can add a touch of team spirit to your wardrobe this season with NFL by Abercrombie. But don't forget, Abercrombie is known for their denim from their viral 90s inspired fits. Their on trend statement jeans. I'm wearing a full Abercrombie fit right now. I have a no bra top on. As am I. So is Fran, obviously. We're always decked out in Abercrombie with denim cow print skort. Fran's got a regular denim skirt on right now. And when we say denim should feel like this. This, we're talking about Abercrombie denim. So Abercrombie drops new arrivals every single week. You could shop in the app, online or in stores.
Joey
We. What is this time number? Like four?
Rhea
Yeah, honestly. Hey, we're jumping right into it.
Fran
We can just jump right into it right now. Start off by talking. We're here with Joey and Kelsey, as you can see, because there was a huge morning that happened. Want me to pull it up near a couple hours ago?
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Noah, Joey, please. Revealing. We did it.
Joey
Look at us.
Fran
Oh, my God. He's like beaming over there.
Joey
We had a good morning.
Rhea
Full government name. Joseph.
Joey
I always don't know for legal issues if I need to, but then it's always weird when they like called your name up the skydive. They're like, joseph, I'm like, am I in trouble? I don't like it at all.
Fran
You got to give your ID name and everything. Now listen, I want to hear about the day for from your guys point of view, but I want to hear about the day from Kelsey's point of view to start because you were along for the ride with them. None of us went. But you were very surprised.
Rhea
I didn't go.
Fran
Never mind.
Rhea
I slept in.
Joey
I tried to get her to. She was like, oh, I get to sleep in. I'm gonna do that.
Rhea
But I Was also like, I wasn't gonna jump. So I was like, am I just gonna like watch you guys? Exactly. Well, that's why I said. I was like, if Kelsey's going, maybe. But then we were like, but we're not going. So Kelsey, definitely.
Joey
Yeah, it was a tough 7am Wake up call to go watch us.
Fran
You know what? Respect. So how. How was sleeping in?
Rhea
Well, it was great. Yeah, I got to sleep in and then I woke up and then I was like, hey, are you alive? Yeah. And he was.
Fran
Did you send like a good lock text or anything of that sort?
Rhea
I think this morning I was like, be safe. I was like half asleep.
Joey
Yeah, is what I got.
Fran
You always gotta send that.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
I told them to be honest.
Rhea
I almost forgot. And I was walking to the gym and it was like 8:50 and I was like, oh, I think this is supposed to be at like 9 o'.
Fran
Clock.
Rhea
I texted our group like, good luck. I was like, what's this shit happening?
Fran
Exactly. I was like, oh, fuck. I was driving back from the gym, I looked at my phone, I said, oh, wow. Good luck.
Noah
You could be dead by now. Never know.
Fran
But you guys made it.
Rhea
Yeah. Two different perspectives. Because it's second timer, first timer. Yeah.
Noah
I want to hear no's and listen. First, we did alter the list because it was bungee jumping. If everyone recalls, when Joey called in to help.
Fran
We do recall.
Noah
Do you recall? And I chose Bungie. He gave me the option, I don't know. In my mind I just thought it's a lower jump. And I'm like, that sounds less scary. But apparently not because everyone at the sky, like all the instructors were like, oh, bungee jumping is like terrifying.
Joey
They were, they were like.
Noah
They were like, I would never even do that.
Joey
So. And I will say we tried. We looked into bungee jumping, but there's like nothing close.
Noah
Nothing close. And it's not one of those where you want to be like, oh, well this one looks fine. Like, yeah, I don't know if I.
Joey
Could have done that with Bungie. I needed. I needed to see some reviews.
Noah
Yeah.
Joey
I think we were gonna go to like upstate New York to somewhere that we've never heard before, just to jump off a bridge. That was never sound again. This sounded way more safe.
Noah
I'm happy with our decision. I am.
Fran
Yeah. Because you made it through. You've had to alter the list twice now. One with Disney because we got banned from drinking Epcot.
Noah
And the alterations are gonna keep coming technically because this week, like, we're not Gonna be the bowl thing, right?
Fran
Well, we wrote the whole thing when we thought we're going to Texas, but it changed to Savannah, so that's fair.
Rhea
That's just a location.
Fran
That's true. And then Joey was the one who picked the bungee jumping, So I guess if he clears it. Right.
Noah
He gave me the option.
Joey
I did. I will say, I said, you should do one of the two. You should do skydiving or bungee jumping. He chose bungee jumping. We tried. Wasn't possible. He went to option number two.
Rhea
We should also call back the fact that Noah was appalled that we wanted skydiving on the list in the first place.
Noah
Was that the case?
Rhea
You fought back on that hard?
Noah
I probably did. I don't think it was on the. I took it off. Was it on the original?
Fran
I don't think it was flowing it out.
Rhea
It was a conversation we had. I don't know if we had it on the podcast, but it was a conversation that we had about skydiving.
Joey
I actually do remember you guys saying that when I got on or something. Like, we couldn't even get him to do it. And you jump on and now he's like, okay, I'll go. Yeah, there was a conversation.
Fran
I mean, I guess the question begs, are you gonna collab post with Noah?
Joey
Yeah. Yeah, let's do it.
Noah
Guys, watch out for a triple collab.
Fran
Oh, my God. Instagram's gonna light on fire later. It's gonna be insane.
Joey
We got some good content today. I don't know how our faces look just quite yet. We gotta look at the footage.
Rhea
No, you gotta walk us through your morning. How'd you prep for this event?
Noah
Honestly? So I. I was driving home from the Cape yesterday, and the whole car ride, it started to sink in a little more. I texted Joey, like, I don't think I'm gonna be able to see sleep tonight. So I started getting quiet. And then when I woke up this morning, I was kind of like, wow, it's happening. But it still was far enough away in my mind where I'm like, oh, like, Joey and I had a nice conversation on the ride there. It was an hour and a half to get there, so it still was, like, far out of my mind. Like, oh, it's not happening yet. Yeah, we had a nice breakfast. We had a nice breakfast at diner.
Fran
We need the details. Yeah, I know.
Noah
I'm like, I'm sorry. Four hour story from me.
Fran
I am.
Rhea
What was that?
Noah
She's asking for all the details.
Joey
We had a coffee on the way and then we got there and we found out no one else decided to jump out of a plane at 9am on Tuesday. We actually beat the instructors there, so we had to wait for them to get in.
Noah
Yeah. Little quaint diner.
Joey
It was great.
Noah
Had, you know, two over easy eggs, if you want details.
Joey
Yeah, I do have bacon. And we also did Google to see if you were supposed to eat before skydiving. That was. That was a thought. Found out it was actually good for adrenaline if you had an empty stomach. Sometimes people do get a little queasy and a little lightheaded, so you need some food. So that was good. We had a good bas. Hung out with some dogs before.
Noah
That was a lot of dogs running around.
Joey
And then we. And then we met our guys and. And it kind of just like happened very quickly.
Rhea
It was a beautiful, like, talk about a good day to go skydiving. It's stunning. In New York. It was New York, New Jersey. We're on, like, a good run right now.
Joey
It was a beautiful day, but it was chilly. If you forget until you get up there how much it drops, because it was like 60 maybe on the ground. And it was. Yeah, we were wearing sweats. I'm very happy that we shout out.
Noah
Skydive Sussex, by the way. They're the skydiving place that we went and they hooked it up for us, like, pretty last minute, but it is like in the middle of nowhere. So it's like there was a diner, there was a bar, and then there's just like this mini airport.
Joey
It was in the middle of nowhere. We, like, pulled up to a trailer. Yeah, we're doing this.
Noah
But yeah, once it's like they start putting in the gear on you, you're like, oh, that's kind of when it starts to sink in a little bit. And I'm kind of like double checking the buckles. Like, it seems too easy. It's just like putting on a jacket, you know, I'm like, I want more, but that's all you need. But Joey had said, like, the plane is where it gets real.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
And once I was on the plane, yeah, I got quiet.
Joey
I was just trying to keep it light. I was kind of smiling. I was kind of chatting up with the guys a lot. Kelsey and I did it not too long ago. We did it in Hawaii. So I felt a little bit more comfortable. But I told him, no matter what, when you get on that plane, it starts like, it's not a normal plane. It starts shaking a little bit. I kind of mess with him, it was really loose because they don't really strap you in until you get on the plane right before you jump. So I was like, yeah, man, this is looser than it was last time. So I was trying, like, I was trying. Trying little things just to kind of see, but he just got dead quiet as soon as he got on the plane. He was just kind of.
Noah
Joey kept like, every few minutes, be like, how you feeling? How you feeling? I'm like, good. Yeah.
Fran
Like, shaking a little bit.
Joey
It was actually just like, just looking at the window. Yeah, he was just. He was straight ahead. He wasn't talking. He's right. I maybe, like, asked for, like, three knuckles on the way up. Just checking in to see, but he was. He was locked in.
Noah
My instructor, Kenny, he. He was trying to ask me questions, I think probably to get me talking, but I don't know. It's just hard. You're looking at the window, the plane just keeps going up and the ground is getting farther away, and you're just like, how high we.
Joey
This was actually higher than, I think, some usual ones. It was 14,500.
Noah
It's the highest in the Northeast.
Fran
Wow.
Joey
The one that we did in Hawaii was 18,000. They let you do a HALO jump because it was like a perfect day in Hawaii. And that was pretty crazy. It was like 30 more seconds. That was his first jump, and that was my first. So that actually felt a lot shorter today, which was kind of nice. But I think I prepped you for most of it. I told you, ears are going to blow out. I was.
Noah
That was like, the way that you're sitting in the plane, by the way. It's like, have you ever seen, like, Zero Dark Thirty? That's how I found it. I felt like I was, like, going to war. Like, all the guys are, like, sitting in front of each other just like back to back to back. And then when they were like, who wants to go first? And I was like, joey, go first.
Rhea
Oh, yeah.
Joey
He didn't know, so I wanted to tell him, but I was like, you know what? I'm going to let him choose. He let me go first. And that's also one of the scariest things is I just disappear.
Noah
Yeah.
Joey
So, like, you just see me jump and all of a sudden you realize how fast the plane is going because you just fall. And he just shoots right by it. I was like, oh, he's going to.
Noah
Hate seeing me go first and just disappear, Joey.
Fran
And it's like, you were like, I'm not even going to tell him, he's in hate.
Joey
I was going to tell him, I just want him to choose. And he chose me. I was like, all right, this should be fun to watch.
Rhea
I was going to say he definitely should have went first because that created so much anxiety. Anxiety for me.
Noah
Last time we also.
Joey
Last time when we did the 18,000 jump was that we. They were 14,000 jump people. So we all saw them jump, and then we just kept going up. We're like, all right, maybe this is bad idea. So today we also saw. We had, like, five other guys that. That worked with them that, like, jump first. So he got to see it a little bit. But I knew it was going to be kind of scary to be the last person on the plane.
Noah
Yeah. All the instructors, though, help, because they're, like, very reassuring. And it's like, they've done this a thousand times plus, so they're cracking jokes and everything. But, yeah, once you, like, get to the edge, I think it just all goes out of your mind, like, because I was saying, like, I'm not gonna enjoy this until the parachute deploys because I'll just be thinking about free falling to my death. But the second we jumped out, it was like, that went out. I didn't think about anything. I was just like, what the fuck? It really is, because you're just like, you were in a plane a second ago, and now you're just in the sky. Sky.
Rhea
And do you, like, remember, like, seeing.
Noah
I just remember seeing, like, it wasn't.
Joey
A lot weird looking at.
Rhea
I was going to say I kind.
Noah
Of blacked out a little.
Rhea
Big difference in, like, skydiving over Hawaii versus Northern.
Fran
Not very scenic.
Rhea
Well, honestly, trees.
Noah
You can see the, like, if you really look. They pointed out, like, the skyline in New York City, like, in the very.
Joey
It was a clear day, so that was cool. And it was just a big grass field, kind of. It just looked like you were kind of. You saw the woods, you saw a little bit of grass. And yeah, Hawaii was pretty cool when you went over the ocean. But I was able to be more, like, in it this time in Hawaii, the first time, probably what you felt too, like, you. You blackout, right? You don't really remember.
Noah
They kept saying before, they're like, just remember to breathe. Because a lot of people, like, don't remember to breathe, I guess. So I was like, breathe, breathe. And I was just really yelling, fuck, like, the whole time. And they said, if you yell, like, you'll breathe. Just doing that. So my shoelace, like, my shoe untied immediately and these shoes just, like, slide off. So I was kind of like, is my shoe going to fall off my foot and kill someone on the ground?
Rhea
Wow, that's velocity. That's so true.
Fran
Right?
Noah
But yeah.
Fran
And you do have asthma. So was that. Did they talk about that?
Joey
I didn't even know. Yeah, I asked if you had any prior issues you should have shared.
Noah
I. You know, it's just like, I have slight asthma. Not really.
Fran
It's not big. He carries an inhaler.
Noah
Yeah. I just didn't want to, you know. You know how I am at dinners with peanuts. It's like, I don't even want to say it.
Joey
Well, maybe you should, because that's a pretty severe allergy.
Fran
Pretty serious. I don't want to bother anybody. We've had this discussion many times. One of us always does that before Noah says it. One of us says it.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
The asthma thing is like, what would they have done? Like, give me an oxygen tank? Like, I don't know, you know?
Fran
No, no.
Noah
So I didn't even think that was worth it.
Fran
How was the landing?
Joey
That's one of the most fun parts. I told him. That's like. That's when it feels like a roller coaster because the free fall goes so quick. And then you actually get to control the parachute. And then when you come into the landing, there's probably, like, a good three to five seconds where you come in really hot because they're, like, spotting the landing. And that kind of feels like the stomach feeling. You get on, like, a roller coaster. So I don't know how his. When I saw the back end of it, you stuck the landing right feet down or.
Noah
Well, I kept saying. I literally said to Joey on the way there, I was like. And then in my mind was like, don't Rachel. It. Don't Rachel. But, yeah, it does feel like for a second, he warned me. He's like, it's going to feel like you're going really fast, like, into the ground. But that's normal because, yeah, he did let me steer it a little bit, which I didn't really love. Like, because I was like, I don't want that level. I don't. Yeah.
Rhea
I'm like, I don't want control.
Noah
And then when they, like, turn down to go. Yeah, you basically, like, it looks like you're just going straight into the ground really fast. And then scary swoops in. And I just stuck my feet up as high as I could. And, yeah, we stuck the landing slide.
Rhea
No, the video of Rachel.
Joey
I don't Know who has it.
Rhea
Just making sure.
Fran
I think that was a windy story at our. At our live show and it was crazier than we thought.
Noah
But I don't know if it was her fault or that, like.
Fran
No, it's definitely not her fault.
Noah
No, no. But like, I'm saying, if you. If you. If I had stuck my feet, like, downwards, then it would have got caught, Like, I don't know.
Rhea
But she got crashed.
Fran
She, like, crashed into the ground.
Joey
I think it was probably. Was it, like a windy day or something?
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, it was really.
Joey
It was windy, so that's probably what it was. Because, again, that's probably part of the thing. If you come in so hot that if anything happens, like, you're flying down, she, like, really.
Rhea
Her, like, face, like, they. When you watch it back, like, they cut away, like, immediately because you don't see, like, her. Actually, just.
Noah
We should have recreated that. I should have, like, pretended to crash on Joey's. Like, no, no. Like.
Fran
That would have been good. You guys were at the US Open last night.
Noah
Yeah.
Fran
You were having some honey juices.
Joey
Of course.
Fran
Were you, like, nervous about that? Like, you're like, I'm going skydiving tomorrow morning. Like, should I, you know, maybe cut back?
Rhea
Actually, I didn't know he actually skydiving today until yesterday. Shall we? And then I was like, you told me you're skydiving, but you didn't tell.
Fran
Me it's tomorrow morning.
Joey
To give the exact timing, we got. We got our schedule for this week and what we were doing. It was on the schedule for this week. I thought she saw it, but I.
Rhea
Told her that I got set.
Joey
Yeah. I told her that I was skydiving. I just forgot to explain the day. She knew we were coming in at one o'.
Rhea
Clock.
Joey
I thought she knew, like, well, we're going to talk about skydiving on the podcast that was on me. I told you at least 24 hours before.
Rhea
Yes.
Fran
Maybe you're having a good time. You're like, yeah, Michael, skydiving tomorrow.
Rhea
Carly told me. She was like, how do you feel about Joey skydiving tomorrow?
Riley Arnold
I was like, huh?
Joey
I was like, wait, what was that again? I was just. I was answering Noah's call.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
Yeah. You had to honestly shout out to Joey because he didn't have to do this.
Rhea
Yes.
Noah
No, I guilted him into it.
Fran
My God, the pressure that Noah was then putting on us about bungee jumping or something, skydiving or whatever it was. And he was like, I could do it here. I could do it there. But like, I feel like it should be with Joey.
Rhea
Like, he was trying to plan a whole Vegas and we were like, no time. I'm like, at what point in the next month do we have time to like, send all of us to Vegas? Right?
Fran
We. We're booked and busy.
Joey
I was gonna say, I think between both of us, it was gonna be impossible to figure out schedule.
Noah
I think we were both like. It was funny though, the second that I changed the from bungee to skydiving, I could just tell Joey was like, oh, yeah, like, let's do that.
Joey
I did not.
Noah
He's like, up until that point, he's like, I don't know my schedule. Like, might not be.
Fran
Noah kept saying that. He was like, I think Joey just doesn't want to go bungee jumping. I.
Noah
He said it openly too.
Joey
I don't think I might. I might at some point put it on another bucket list. If I do, I might have to get over that fear. But bungee jumping scares the crap out of me.
Rhea
I'd love to talk to somebody who's actually done it before. I don't know a single in my brain.
Fran
Char did, huh?
Joey
Yeah. I heard the worst part. I was telling him today it's the second time. So like, you jump and you don't even like, notice the first feeling cuz there's so much adrenaline. And you kind of like, relax because, like, oh, I hit the ground. Like, I didn't hit the ground good. And it goes up and it happens. Exactly. Again, I heard the second one sucks. And I don't want to feel that. Like, it scares me.
Fran
Yeah, I just think what I.
Rhea
Somebody who's gone bungee jumping.
Fran
Like, bungee jumping to me seems less scary, but everybody. But you're going that fast, say right in front. Skydiving is less scary.
Joey
I. I think it's be in my brain. I'm like, okay, if something went wrong with the parachute, like, they have backups. We have time to figure this out. Something goes wrong with a bungee cord, it's over.
Noah
It was cool because we had video guys. So the video guys were like in front of us. And then he was like, grab onto my foot. So I grabbed onto his foot and then we spun, like in a circle.
Rhea
Choreography.
Noah
No, no. I kind of felt like that I was like, whoa. Like, I feel.
Joey
Yeah. Even all of our. All of our people that we with today said that they wouldn't even go bungee jumping.
Noah
Yeah. That was like, what? I knew Bungie just got like it thousands of times. And they were like, no.
Fran
I could imagine that the feeling of skydiving is a way more relaxing for freeing feeling than just jumping and, like, having your entire body rattle. And, you know, like, I don't see, like, a point. Not point, but, like, it's so quick, right? Exactly. Like, you're not, like, wow, that was, like, really fulfilling, like, skydiving. I imagine that's kind of the feeling.
Noah
I did think that there was gonna.
Fran
Be, like, it was nice to feel so free in the air.
Joey
The best part also is, like, when the parachute goes, like, just hanging out and just seeing the view. And, like, that's. That's a very enjoyable part of it.
Noah
And after, like, free falling, it doesn't feel that scary. Cause I did have to remind myself, I'm like, you're, like, so high up in the air now, but after falling.
Rhea
You'Re, like, still in the air.
Noah
You're just like, oh, like, now I'm good. Now I'm good.
Fran
But how quickly does the parachute go?
Noah
Really? You warned me about that. Your ears. I don't know. He said that your ears get, like, messed up the second it deployed. Like, I went deaf, basically. Like, I forget.
Joey
He talked to us about what the mile per hour difference is.
Noah
It was, like, over 100.
Joey
Yeah. And you just, like, it just stops. So, like, your ears will just pop immediately, and you have to, like, clear them. And you're also, like, really tight on the guy behind you, so he, like, loosens you up. You're like, well, don't loosen me too much. I don't want to stay here.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
He was like. He's like, don't worry. You're not gonna go anywhere. I'm like, just leave it. Just leave it.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Like, we're guys can't be super close to you.
Joey
It doesn't feel right to, like, loosen up because you're like, I'm still up.
Noah
Here right now, but honestly want to be attached.
Fran
Like, I would never. But that's so sick to be like, yeah, I went skydiving.
Noah
You should.
Rhea
I mean, like, it's so we know where to go. Never.
Joey
I'll go again. Kelsey will come this time.
Rhea
First one. You did Asheville. Okay.
Riley Arnold
Yeah. And actually, that was so beautiful. I feel like it was so random.
Rhea
I went up and visited one of my friends.
Fran
She was in some, like, army training.
Rhea
Up there, and we just. On a whim, we're like, let's go skydiving. And I had the most crazy adrenaline, and I don't know what it is. Whenever I get, like, Scared. Or maybe it's all the adrenaline that comes over me.
Riley Arnold
I get so calm right before things.
Rhea
That are, like, insane. So I was on that plane, and I was like. Everyone's like, are you okay? Like, you're. And I was like, I'm feeling peachy. I'm at peace. And I looked up before I jumped, and that's what I always recommend to people. I'm like, if you look down, it, like, scares you so much. I looked up and then jumped down.
Fran
And that's a good tip.
Joey
Yeah, you're supposed to look back, too. I always, like. I try looking up because you're supposed to keep your head back. He didn't do that.
Noah
Yeah. He like this to me.
Fran
Chin up.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Fran
Like, I'm, like, looking at you guys different today. You weren't skydiving. You are way cooler than.
Noah
We can put the videos in. Like, the episode right now.
Rhea
We got to put them in. Yalls nostrils are probably like, I look so dumb.
Noah
Like, I wish I was.
Rhea
Is there sound on the videos?
Noah
Yeah.
Joey
He's like, I want to hear the. I want to hear him screaming it.
Noah
Yeah. At some point, I'm just like, what else do I yell? I'm just like, what the. And then they're like, how was it? I'm like. I just kept saying crazy. I'm like, crazy. That was crazy.
Joey
Yeah. I got. I got a video coming down and see him, and he looked like he was. No.
Noah
What's going on?
Fran
Didn't you do it today? Were you just like, nah, I've done it 24 hours. Yeah.
Rhea
And I didn't know if they had, like, already, like, I don't know.
Fran
Made a reservation. Yeah.
Joey
They would have hooked you up. We should have done it.
Fran
I know.
Rhea
I know.
Joey
Now I like that.
Rhea
Now I feel like we're on the same level, but I don't like that.
Fran
I think I need to go right. Right now you got the same amount.
Rhea
Now you're the same amount. And I'm. I don't know.
Joey
I don't know if I'll do it again.
Fran
I really don't.
Joey
I said the same thing after we did Hawaii. I was like, I. I think I'm one and done. Like, that was fun. I don't know how you get better than that. And then, yeah. Noah comes along, gets me jumping in.
Fran
New Jersey, Switzerland, maybe.
Rhea
I was gonna say, like, it has to be based on location. Right. Like, if it's some absolutely insane location, then maybe it's.
Fran
People were doing it in Switzerland when I was there. And so Many people had messaged me, like, you have to do it. You have to do it. And I was like, no way.
Joey
I think I'm gonna do it.
Fran
So I. So would that have to do it or if I did it?
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like, it would be like a if you go, I go type thing. But I saw people do. In Switzerland, I also saw them do. What is it, like, paragliding? Hang.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
I don't know if I was jumping off the mountain.
Rhea
Literally, just free.
Joey
We talked about the squirrel suits today. No, I can't. I can't do any of that stuff. I will say it was also really nice to do it with someone for their first time. I think that next time I would do it again was if someone, like, wanted to do it and they're like, I need someone to go with. I would do it with another friend. I know you feel like I'm the guy.
Noah
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Fran
You're like, I can't be scared because.
Joey
I'm inside freaking out.
Noah
It is nice to go with someone who's done it too, because you're like, all right, they. They know what they're doing a little bit. And, like, him flagging those things to me ahead of time did help. Like, where I'm like, oh, it's normal. I can't hear right now.
Rhea
Like, right, right, right.
Noah
You had good prep.
Rhea
Good prep.
Fran
So. No. And now with your list, do you feel, like, pretty much accomplished? Like, I know there's other things that need to be done. I would maybe say skydiving is the hardest.
Noah
It is nice to get that out of the way. I. I will say, like, yeah, because we were gonna maybe do it, the bungee jumping thing, if this didn't happen, like, in the new country that we're possibly going to. And it would just be nice to get on that plane and not have that in the back of my mind, you know?
Fran
Right. Like, going to the new country will.
Noah
Probably be, like, relaxing. I want that to be less. I want to get on the plane and be like, this is over. Unless we talked about that today. Okay. I'm just joking.
Joey
None of that. We were talking about that today too, though. Kelsey would understand that, like, the. The anxiety of getting this list done. It's just nice to start getting things off. Like, she saw how crazy it got at the end.
Noah
Yeah, I know. It was nice to talk.
Fran
Yeah.
Joey
I didn't mean to give you guys anxiety.
Fran
And now we're feeling it with. No, no. I feel like the list. I mean, friend are like, this.
Rhea
Everything. Everything that he's got left is not like there's some.
Noah
Though the hip hop level of some.
Rhea
Of the ones that were on yours. We're like, how could he possibly do these things?
Fran
Hip hop dance class next week.
Noah
Let's go.
Joey
Do you have a certain style you're doing?
Noah
We're going to basic hip hop. Yeah, I can't wait to see that.
Fran
Yeah, yeah. Big collab post coming next week.
Rhea
They'll be doing a choreographed number.
Fran
Yeah, we're doing. Do you have your outfit picked up?
Noah
The place that we're going is providing the sweatsuit outfits.
Fran
Yeah, we got sweatshirts and sweatpants. There you go. You know, we're gonna be popping it. I keep sending videos of. Of just, like, duos doing hip hop dances and sending it to the grouping, like, me and Noah. And then after that, San Gennaro fest starts the same night. So I said, after hip hop class will be a little hungry. We'll go grab a little sausage and pepper sandwich. Yep. Treat ourselves. That's on the list as well.
Rhea
He put these, like, lists of he on the list. He is, like, make lists.
Fran
Yeah, that should be easy.
Noah
Like, that's like a song one.
Rhea
He's. The movies.
Joey
He's really worried about the. The songs we talked about today. That. That's a big deal.
Noah
No, no, that is the hardest one. Because every hour, like, it. You know how, like, you are with.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
Listening to music. Like, it changes. You know, yesterday. And, like, I tried to read the first. Well, I did read the first chapter, and I'm like, this might be the hardest thing on my list. Like, I can read a book, but I'm just. I feel like I'm in high school again. Like, the book that I chose, what book is it? The Grapes of Wrath. Oh, it's just, like. It's pretty long, too.
Rhea
Yeah, that. I mean, you went. That's an interesting way in.
Noah
Well, then I said I was gonna read Verity as a joke, but then it was like, oh, it should be a classic.
Fran
But there's. There's a lot of in between, you know, Very much.
Rhea
There's certainly an in between between Verity and Grapes of Wrath. Yeah.
Fran
Like, you could have went with, like, the Great Gatsby.
Noah
Yeah, I know, but then I thought people. Oh, well, you've seen the movie. That's kind of cheating. I don't.
Fran
Nobody.
Joey
You didn't read that in high school. We had to read that in high school.
Noah
I, like, honestly didn't read, like, anything.
Joey
I mean, when I say read, I definitely hit up sparks every time.
Noah
Like, I've read like a bunch of these books, but I haven't read them. I've read. Yeah, it's actually.
Rhea
Well, at least you didn't pick like, you know, you're not doing like the Odyssey or something.
Fran
Like it's.
Joey
Yeah, it should be an enjoyable read. You should think about this.
Fran
You could read it on the plane to the new country.
Noah
Yeah.
Joey
Also a lot of time I heard where you guys are going and I will not spoil it here, but we got reached out to go to the same place, the same thing. So I wish we were all going together. You should be able to tell.
Fran
That would have been sick.
Joey
I know. We, we. Cuz we had a country that we were going to that was close to there and they were trying to figure it out. So that would have been so fun. You guys are going to love it though. We, we really want to go and.
Fran
We'Ve heard such good things about it. Oh, that's very exciting. Yeah, that's a big tease. Cuz we are going somewhere. We are going somewhere. It's me, Fran and Noah. Just.
Joey
I can't wait to hear about that trip.
Fran
Yeah, it's just, it's going to be quite the trip I called my mom.
Rhea
To tell me about. I didn't really. I hadn't talked to her about it and she was like, what the fuck?
Fran
I would have loved to see that reaction.
Rhea
Just like her, my brother laughing in the background.
Fran
We're going in the beginning of October. So like, honestly, in a month from now we're going.
Noah
Technically not like fully confirmed, but yes.
Rhea
That'S what we're saying. Well, we're almost saying I need the flights to be booked and then I'll feel like we're really going. You know, like, it's like you're. When it's. That's not done yet, you're like, okay, we're supposed to be going. Right? But that's not, that's not.
Noah
It was nice talking about like the anxiety of the list with Joey though, because I, I feel like he's like, you know, the Godfather of.
Joey
Well, I think we and I think you three can compare. That's the thing is there's our understanding. And then you guys, I was saying.
Noah
At Disney, I'm like trying to schedule Pilates class and they're like, can you just stop? And I'm like, I gotta get these things.
Rhea
Yeah, we're walking around Epcot. He's like trying to figure out how he's gonna get to the Cape to take a Pilates class with his sister. I'm like, you could just take it in New York when we get home. Like, you're making us a little bit more difficult for yourself on his list.
Fran
A little bit harder than they. They have to be for himself. But I. I think you need to do. I need to do. I just turned 28, so I can have a year now to plan my list.
Rhea
I think I have to.
Fran
So we can plan the list.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And then I turn 29 in July. So then it'll be like. Then I'll be like, oh, my. 3,000, 430.
Joey
Also, I'm team. Put it out now. Give yourself two years. Why are we trying to put this in such a bit? Like, we were just talking. I might do a 35 before I turn 35, just so I can have time. Like, I don't wanna. I don't wanna wait the whole year.
Riley Arnold
40 now.
Joey
Yeah, get it going. Yeah, I'll go.
Rhea
As you get older, things start to slow down. You're like, I need more time.
Fran
I cheat, though.
Rhea
You guys both did a year. I think that that's part of the. No, one did like three months.
Fran
Yeah.
Joey
His is crazy.
Fran
Yeah, that's six. Six months.
Noah
No, no, I didn't. I did my first thing on July 4th.
Rhea
You.
Fran
Wait, you. We. I think we started on July 4th, but we finalized it before that, early June.
Joey
If you had to say right now, what would you put on your list? What would be one of the things?
Fran
Oh, my God. That is really good question. State one right now. Joey has to run, right?
Joey
I'm done picking because apparently when I do, I have to do them with people. And that's a dangerous ass thing. I feel like, what's one thing you'd want to do? It's a lot of pressure.
Rhea
Imagine, I think Italy. There's so many, like, routes. I go with this.
Fran
Italy will be before. I'll get there before I turn 30. So that won't be on the 30 before.
Noah
Well, if you make it now, you'll still.
Rhea
It'll.
Joey
It'll still. That's the whole idea.
Fran
No, I think I'm going before I turn 29. Yeah.
Rhea
It's not in the year.
Fran
Sorry, it's not in the year.
Joey
You've still not been to Italy?
Fran
No, which is the funniest thing.
Joey
That's crazy.
Fran
Everyone always says, like, wait, how have you not been?
Rhea
Right?
Fran
Because I've been to a lot of other places.
Rhea
No, but I mean, I've been to.
Fran
Like, it's closer from Spain, Switzerland, England. Where else?
Rhea
You go to London. She Goes to London three times a year now.
Fran
I've been to the surrounding countries because Italy, to me, like, it's like, I'm very Italian, as you know.
Joey
That's why I'm surprised.
Fran
I have been waiting to, like, go with my family because my mom used to go in the summer growing up, and so, like, she actually still has family that lives there. And I feel like I've been waiting to go with my family, but I just don't know if that's ever gonna happen. So I might just go. You know what I mean? Me and my husband might go so that I think I really want to go to Japan, which is. I feel like that was on yours.
Rhea
We were looking at apartments for the summer. We were like, what if we just stayed here all so long?
Joey
We only went for like, five days. We didn't want to leave.
Rhea
Right. That's why there isn't, like, the food there. And everything was so inexpensive. I know once you get there, I know we both want to go, it's just like. But it's also same kind of thing where it's like, neither of us want to go for like. We want to go and be there.
Fran
For like, two weeks.
Rhea
Exactly. Yeah. We were only there for, what, four days?
Joey
Four or five days.
Rhea
And we could have been there so much longer.
Fran
Right?
Joey
Yeah. Because we only got to do. We only got Tokyo. And we would want to go like, Kyoto and all these other spots. There's supposed to be a lot of really cool things. I didn't know. There's like, really nice beaches.
Fran
Absolutely.
Joey
Yeah.
Rhea
We.
Joey
We need to go do it again.
Rhea
For sure.
Joey
I just learned how to snowboard.
Rhea
Yeah, right.
Joey
But that I've heard is crazy. The powder there supposed be to be nuts.
Noah
That's also on the list of to.
Joey
Do out there at one point. We're just all making bucket lists out here, compiling people.
Noah
Honestly, I was telling Joy there's so many people have like, messaged me or come up to me when, like, we're at events and said, like, they're making their own, so it's cool to see.
Rhea
Yeah, it's so awesome.
Joey
Just making people do fun things. That's what we should be doing. We should be living. So I love it. We should be jumping out of planes. Guys, why aren't you jumping out of plane?
Noah
Let's go back right now.
Fran
Let's go. I'm good. I'm good. Can you guys show up your certificates one more time?
Joey
Yes, of course.
Fran
Be proud.
Riley Arnold
I feel like you'll need to take.
Rhea
Like an elementary picture together.
Fran
Feels like it's like, no, you better be wearing that.
Rhea
I'm assuming you guys took a picture when. When holding these when you were there.
Joey
Oh, we have not yet. We took a before and after picture, but we should take one here.
Fran
Oh, my God.
Noah
It was just a selfie, which is so funny.
Joey
It actually. I looked at it when I came here. They look exactly the same.
Noah
We took a before and after.
Joey
You.
Noah
You would think of my hair more.
Joey
Elevated, a little more bouncy, but it's like, the exact same picture.
Fran
That would probably inspire people to go because. Yeah. Oh, it didn't rattle them too much.
Noah
No, we look.
Joey
We. It actually looks like we took it in the exact same spot, too.
Noah
It doesn't look like. No, I was. I was, like, trying to see, like, I'm like, I don't even have to post the first. They're the same picture.
Rhea
All right, well, I think that wraps it up for skydive. I do want to. Oh, the dance. All the Dancing with the Stars stuff just got announced for next season. Who's your dark horse? Who are you rooting for?
Joey
Oh, it's hard because there's just so many good people this season. Who do you like? I'll think on that.
Rhea
I just feel like there's so many good people. Oh, I don't know. We were just saying this, too. It's like there's no. Like, everyone seems like night, you know, not that they cast mean, you know, but it's like. But like, there's some. Like, maybe. Maybe there's some controversy or that, like, maybe someone's a little polarizing. But, like, everybody. I feel like everyone, like, you know.
Joey
Everyone'S gonna be likable, for sure. I think that it's hard not to put a lot of, like, faith into Robert Irwin just because I just. I met him in person when he got announced, and that dude is a star. Like, you can just tell if you're talking about, like, the story building and America falling in love with someone. He's going to be my favorite for that. My dark horse might be Dylan and Danny, because I really just think Danny's an unbelievable dancer, and Dylan gives me similar vibes, like how I was on the show. I feel like. I feel like he's going to have a building kind of a whole journey on that. But the girls are really strong, too. I think we both use, like.
Rhea
And they have, like, really good, like, backgrounds.
Joey
Yeah.
Fran
Like.
Rhea
Yeah. Being able to dance and stuff. And there's, like, a gymnast and, you know, there's so many people that I.
Joey
Feel like Whitney, Lauren from Fifth Harmony.
Rhea
Like, they're all day. Like, I'm. They're all like, you know, obviously dance.
Fran
Right.
Joey
I'm. I'm excited we're gonna be at the premiere. I just can't wait to, like. It'll be fun to watch without the pressure of actually.
Rhea
That is true.
Fran
And as a winner.
Joey
Yeah.
Rhea
And you've never seen it from the audience point of view.
Joey
No, I have never gotten. I mean, I'm going to probably have PTSD as soon as I hear the clicks. Like, if anyone doesn't know there's clicks right before the music starts and something happens in your brain when you hear them, I might jump up and, like.
Noah
You know.
Joey
But it's. It'll be really, really fun to, like, see the experience through their eyes, just because I've talked about it enough. But that is the best experience ever. Like, they're all going to have the best time. And I'm now friends with a lot of the. The pros, too, so I'm so excited to, like, root for them and see how they do this season.
Fran
Kelsey would do Dancing with the Stars. I will.
Rhea
I mean, like, I feel like you have to if they ask you because it's such a cool experience. But I do think it would be very hard to live up to Joey's.
Joey
You do great.
Rhea
You know how good he was. Yeah, that is tough. You'd be like, couldn't you come in third?
Fran
Right. There's a lot of pressure. Incredible. You'd be entertaining. You'd be making people laugh. But then you'd get out there and you would look stunning and dance really well. Like, you'd have it all.
Rhea
I feel like my faces would probably be.
Noah
I would love to see it.
Joey
I would love to see it. I think it'd be really fun.
Rhea
Yeah, I think it would. All right, well, we're very excited to see the new season and maybe see some involvement.
Fran
We'll.
Rhea
We'll. Yeah, yeah. Very excited.
Noah
We'll be around.
Rhea
Okay. That is. That's it. I think. On the sky skydiving recap. You live to tell the tale.
Fran
Thank God.
Rhea
So we'll end it with a thank you.
Fran
Yes.
Rhea
Thank you, Joey, for taking Noah. Sky.
Fran
Noah, we're very proud of you.
Noah
Thanks, Mom.

Today we're going to be talking about Sydney Sweeney dating Scooter Braun. Are you fucking kidding me? You fucking kidding me? The Dancing with the Stars cast and Fifth Harmony reunited on stage for the Jonas Brothers concert. So let's get into it.
Rhea
What the fuck?
Fran
Sydney Sweeney, like, seriously, just when you.
Rhea
Think she's got funky taste crew, she really does.
Fran
Just when you think the girl can't make people more upset, she pops out dating Scooter Brawn. Like, are you fucking joking? Does she just have a thing for scummy management?
Rhea
Like scummy manager, producer guys? Yeah, and by the way, we're really just going off the ex fiance's like, appearance. We don't know anything about him.
Fran
He could have been a great guy.
Rhea
Yeah, we know nothing about him.
Fran
Sorry, that was a jump to conclusions. He could have been a great guy.
Rhea
We're solely going off that, like, older gentleman, older guy for sure. I mean, what I want you to run through when you saw this because you texted this to us this weekend and honestly, in our group chat, I.
Fran
Was like an evil laugh.
Rhea
In our group chat, we were all like, no fucking way. Star Magazine. What a joke.
Fran
No, when I text you guys and I said, when this comes out, remember you heard it from your girl first.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
So I was on TikTok and I saw obviously a random TikTok come up about Sydney Sweeney and Scooter Braun dating. And I thought, well, I better Google this because I can't bring this to the chat and have them roast me yet again. So I Google Sydney Sweeney scating. I see a Yahoo article pop up. I Click that. And I'm like, ah, this is very fishy. They're. They're, like, citing their sources. Star magazine. Like, this is in 2007. Like, we're not trusting Star magazine. So that seems very, very off. And then Pop Crave tweeted it out. And when Pop Crave tweeted it out, you guys, your ears perked up a little bit more.
Rhea
You're like, yeah.
Fran
Oh, this might be something. And now TMZ has reported that they are casually dating. So I truly couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this, because I thought, there's just no way, Sydney. No, I couldn't believe this. In your wildest dreams, like, anyways, Sydney, you just can't be that references. You can't be silly. That's silly. You know what I mean? To, like, go and date Scooter Braun, who is just, like, known to be just scummy and, like, your public perception right now isn't fantastic. People aren't in the most favor of you. And then she goes, I don't give a shit. I'm gonna start dating Scooter Braun. Like, I saw people saying this. Like, does she have a humility kink? Like, is she like, what can I do to make people upset with me and just fucking roast me apart?
Rhea
Yeah, this is a tough one for. Jump on board for tmz. Sources said Scooter and Sydney have been seeing each other and been on multiple dates, although we're told it's casual. One source said Sydney has just ended a relationship, and she's doing what women in their 20s do. She's dating. That source co signed to the facts. It's casual, Sydney. Scooter first sparked dating rumors a couple months ago, and they were spotted together in Venice, Italy, after the Bezos wedding. And, yeah, I don't know. I mean, I don't know in what world you, like, get that text from Scooter Braun and you're like, yeah, I'll go on a date with you. Like, like you even want to entertain it.
Fran
Her people being like, she's 20. She's dating. Like, yeah, totally, but why don't we.
Rhea
Maybe not in your 20s?
Fran
Like, you're in your 20s. Why are you wasting your time with Scooter Bra?
Rhea
I don't really know. What, like, 44 years old, you know? Scooter. Scooter Braun, by the way, must be screaming this from the rooftop.
Fran
Well, the article I read was like, scooter's telling his friends that he's casually dating cities.
Rhea
Yeah, no shit.
Fran
Obviously, he Knows shit.
Rhea
He is telling everybody. He's probably texting his group chats. Yeah. God. Date tonight. Let me give you one hint. Her name rhymes with Minzy, Dweeny.
Fran
Yeah. Yeah.
Rhea
That was tough.
Noah
It didn't rhyme.
Riley Arnold
Sydney.
Rhea
Sydney. I was trying to come up with a Sydney. What rhymes with Sydney? Exactly. That's where I just struggled.
Fran
Nothing. Kidney.
Rhea
Kidney. Could have worked.
Fran
Kidney. Weenie.
Rhea
Kidney.
Fran
Dweeny.
Rhea
Dweeny still plays.
Fran
Yeah. Kidney. Queenie Beanie.
Rhea
Oh, man. We're going on hour six of these lights being on.
Fran
You're right. We've been recording.
Rhea
We're fading seven hours. We're fading. But I will say, I mean, yes, he is 100, bragging to all of his friends about this. No wonder it's gotten out. Talking about it. But like, sorry, I understand. Certain relationships happen. Whatever. She's 27 years old. Like, she does not need to be dating a 44 year old with three kids. Sorry.
Fran
Like, no, that's what I'm saying. Like, her people being like, you know, Sydney's in her 20s, she's eating. That's what they do. Like. Yeah, but not scooter Braun, who's 44 and his three kids. It has all these public, you know. Right.
Rhea
Like scandals. Like call up Harry Styles if you want.
Fran
Right.
Rhea
Why not?
Fran
Like, why? I mean, give Glen Powell a ring again. Say, hey, old friend, seriously want to go on a date? Yeah, like, why? Why Scooter?
Rhea
People thought it was weird. People that like Glenn was too old.
Fran
It's almost laughable.
Rhea
Yeah, it really is.
Fran
If you were gonna throw two names out there as it. When I saw it was like, this is obviously a joke, sweetie. And Scooter Braun. Because everything that just happened with her, it was like, all right, let's throw a name out there that would get people riled up that she's dating. Oh, no. Oh, no. She allegedly, actually is possibly dating Scooter Braun. For real.
Rhea
It actually reads like a post from the Onion. Like, it's like, right. Peak. As everyone was on. On, on Sydney after the. The ad stuff that it's like the Onion. I could see them posting this graphic being like for optics, Sydney Sweeney seen dating Scooter Braun.
Fran
Just crazy. Like, it really is a parody headline, but it's real.
Rhea
Yeah. All right. These two kids casually dating. I don't know.
Fran
She quite the choice from Sydney Sweeney here.
Rhea
Like, really quite the choice. If I'm one of her girlfriends, I'm like, let's, let's like change it up.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
You are in your 20s, right? You can Date whoever the fuck you want.
Riley Arnold
You.
Fran
Why does it have to be Scooter Broad.
Rhea
Yeah. She could literally date whoever she wants.
Fran
No lit.
Rhea
Literally anybody, I'm sure. Anybody.
Fran
Any man around.
Rhea
Yeah. Single, eligible bachelor. Yeah.
Fran
Would be like, yes, yes, I'll go on a date with City Sweeney.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
That Dave clip is perfect for this. Where he's like Scooter Braun. Remember that?
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
It's just.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Scooter Brawn.
Rhea
Yeah. It's seriously crazy.
Fran
It's wild.
Rhea
Really did not think we would be coming around talking about this. This on the show. I thought that we would just have laughed about in the group chat is like, haha, that's so ridiculous. And then never think about it again. But here we are.
Fran
But here we are talking about it as if it's a real thing.
Rhea
Yeah. Yikes.
Fran
So moving on.
Rhea
All right, good luck you two.
Fran
The Dancing with the Stars cast was revealed and I think it's safe to say that this is going to be a great season.
Rhea
Killer season.
Fran
I think people are super excited for this. We've been waiting for the reveal of this cast. You know, a couple people were revealed months ago. Alex Earl, Robert Irwin. Right. Robert Irwin. I was like Steve Irwin. I know, but I messed up. Robert Irwin. And you know, we saw Mormon wives. We saw the Mormon Wives. And then you know, we maybe saw Dylan Efron's hair coming out.
Rhea
Right. We were trying to like look at those, those tease photos.
Fran
Hilaria Baldwin, she was a lot of upfront hints about being on Dancing with the Stars, but now we have the full cast.
Rhea
Exactly. So she is now confirmed. Hilaria Baldwin. She's tick tocked her way to Dancing with the Stars. So well done on her. We also have Jordan Chiles, Olympic gold medalist. We know gymnast Baron Davis, basketball player Alex Earl. We already knew. Dylan Efron is now confirmed. Corey Feldman is on this season as well as Danielle Fischl from Boy Meets World. Topanga. No, we love her. Elaine Hendricks, which I'm very excited because that is the one, the only Meredith Blake. Scott Hoying is from Pentatonix. He is another cast member. Then we have Lauren from Fifth Harmony. So we're talking about Fifth Harmony again, you know, coming out for the during the Joshua show. But here she is jumping onto this season of Dancing with the Stars, which I'm very excited for. Like Joey said, Normani has done it. So now Lauren is doing it. And then we had like Whitney and Jen, both Mormon wives. And Andy Richter, the comedian is closing it out. That is, those are all Our. Our stars. I was gonna say pros, but those are the stars.
Fran
Those are the stars.
Rhea
We. You guys all know the. The pros that they're matched with. We do, too, but we are record. Like, it's. We're recording this a little bit early, and we were confidentially told, and now I can't remember what they all were, to be honest. And I. They didn't give it to us in writing. But the one that stood out to me was Hilaria and Gleb.
Fran
Yes. A couple of really exciting pairs, I think notably stood out to me was Daniella and Dylan. Dylan, yeah. Which is a pair I'm very excited about. It's a little switch up for Daniella, who's had to work with very, very tall men the past couple, you know, and she's had to work her way around that.
Rhea
Not that Dylan is.
Fran
Not that Dylan is at all. But not as tall. No, no, no, no.
Rhea
He's certainly not a monster. Yes, exactly.
Fran
And it's worked out for her in the past. So nice to see a little switch up here, though. We get Val and Alex Earl, which is exciting. Very.
Rhea
And she's got to be pumped for that.
Fran
Yeah, like, for sure. And switch up for Riley as well.
Rhea
Yes. We're very excited to talk to Riley about that pairing, which we will do in our interview with her coming up. But, yeah, I mean, first of all, I think there was so much back and forth on, like, was Gleb coming back? Was Gleb not coming back? There's been a lot of rumors online, just, like, inner ABC drama of, like, oh, will Gleb be asked back now with the Hulu stuff and everything that happened with Brooks and people watch Love Thy Nadir, and he's seeing what's happening, all these, you know, all these things that are going on, but he is coming back. And him being paired with. Hilarious. Just Chef's Kiss. It's actually perfect because that is the perfect amount of drama. The perfect amount of, like, ooh, can't imagine, you know, Alec Baldwin's thrilled with that one. Like, it's like, oh, honey, which pro did you get? And then you list them out and maybe like, a quick Google search, and probably you're not loving what you're seeing, right?
Fran
It's like, Alec Baldwin's like, one thing is like, you know, let's. Let's keep this light. Let's keep this friendly. And then it's, boom, my wife's paired up with Glep.
Rhea
Yeah. Yep, yep. So that's gonna be very Very interesting. I think I see now is a problem because I don't want to say it and then be wrong but I think Whitney was maybe with Mark from like Whitney Mormon Wives is from. With Mark Ballas which is a crate like that's another one that I think if you end up with there's certain ones that I think if you're a star and you end up, you're like, fuck yes. You know, that's whoever ends up with Mark. I'm sure you would feel that way as well. But really excited for this new group. We also have a new pro which is super exciting. Yan, I think is with Jen. So that's, you know, another one that's, that's gonna be great. But it's always interesting to see it like when they throw a new pro into the mix as well. But I'm really excited for this season. It's gonna be great. Good lift, good list of stars.
Fran
It is really, really good. My question is with having a new pro and I know that they bring in new pros obviously often but if you're a star, are you kind of a little bit wary that you have a new pro now because is the pro being judged a little bit more harshly because they're new so you know what I mean, they're new to this whole thing.
Rhea
No, I think that's so true. There probably is, well there's probably some pressure on his part too to really perform. So maybe it is a sneaky, a good thing. You're like, you're not getting someone who's on, you know, their bajillionth season that's like I, you know, I, I know what I'm doing. I got this, maybe a new fresh face. I want to try new things.
Fran
Right. And Jenna, Jenna being paired up with Corey Feldman, you know, it's quite the change from last year. She won with Joey and that was awesome. It's just a little bit of a mix, a little mix up this year.
Rhea
Yeah. You know that if, I think if you do look back and see normally the pro who does really, really well, especially wins the next season, they do try and gotta balance it, balance it out a little bit which makes sense just as far as spreading the wealth I guess you would say. But yeah, that's definitely one too that I think you're like, oh yeah, he's, you're on, you're on such a high. But you know, who knows? You never know who's gonna impress you when, when they step onto the, the ballroom floor. So it's gonna Be exciting. I've left watching Alex Earl's videos, like, of her. Just, like, get ready with me to go to practice and all these things. Like, it's really fun and exciting. It's a whole different, like, feel to it. Right.
Fran
Like, that's so fun. You get to, like, dress up and go to practice.
Rhea
Yeah. Not dress up. Like, put on your sweatpants. Yes. Yeah. Your sports bra.
Fran
You're like, I'm just headed to practice and dancing with the stars. Like, that's so much fun.
Rhea
Yeah, exactly. So I can't wait. I'm pumped for this season.
Fran
Me, too. I'm very, very pumped. I think people are gonna be locked in, because if you. If you watched last season or if you didn't, but you saw what was happening on Tick Tock, and you want to be a part of it this season. Now there's gonna be a lot more viewers coming in because they want to be a part of the conversation. You don't want to miss out on the conversation.
Rhea
Ezra and Jordan was the other one. I wanted to say pumped for that.
Fran
That's an amazing.
Rhea
I think Ezra's got to be through. I remember when we talked to him, just, like, who. You know, we had so many different ideas of who we could be paired up with. But. But I think that's gonna be so fun.
Fran
Such an amazing pairing. So much fun. Cannot wait. And I. I really think it's like, you gotta get. You gotta get on board. You don't want to miss out on this season. You really don't.
Rhea
You really don't.
Fran
You just. You don't want to be left behind in the talks. And you're like, wait, what's happening on Days of the Stars? Well, if only you were watching from the beginning.
Rhea
Exactly.
Fran
Moving along. I mean, a lot of Fifth Harmony talk, maybe the most ever on this podcast. Not sure we've ever even discussed.
Rhea
Well, to be honest, Fifth Harmony didn't really. Like, they were disbanded once we were doing the show.
Fran
They were.
Rhea
And it was like, we really got into the swing of things, you know.
Fran
Camila Cabello, of course, at times, but Fifth Harmony or four members of Fifth Harmony reunited at the Jonas Brothers concert. Now immediately, you know, my brain just starts going, like, what happened with Camilla? You know, we got a little bit behind the scenes of One Direction. We got a whole documentary about the Jonas Brothers. What happened with Camila Cabello and Fifth Harmony? Like, she can't even jump up on that stage with them for the. For the Jonas Brothers show. You know what I mean?
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And she did leave. And then they were Fourth Harmony, but.
Rhea
Right.
Fran
What about not. They weren't Fourth Harmony.
Rhea
Well, of course. But they were so called Harmony. But they were still a band.
Fran
But they were still a band.
Rhea
They were still like, if. Whatever you want to call it.
Fran
Right? Yeah. And then you're like, but what, you know, just goes there.
Rhea
Yeah. It is one of those things where you kind of just think, like, very similar. Where it's like, you know, I'm breaking out of this thing and I'm going solo. And obviously, it's worked for her. But then, as if you also think, like, oh, would have been really cool if she did it, too. The Jones brothers would have been fired up.
Fran
Right.
Rhea
About all five.
Fran
All five of Fifth Harmony. Like, yeah, Fifth Harmony reunited on stage. But did they really.
Rhea
I know.
Noah
You think they tried.
Rhea
Oh, I'm sure.
Noah
I mean, you think Joe was like, come on, Camille.
Rhea
I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, it's. They got. It's a big deal that the girls still got up on stage together. It's been seven years, I think, or something. Something around that amount of time, which is kind of crazy. Like, if you had asked me when, like, the last time Fifth Harmony performed together, I would not have thought it was that long ago, but it has been. And, you know, choreography wasn't fast.
Fran
Fantastic.
Rhea
Oh, yes. Now I. Normani.
Fran
Yes.
Rhea
I fully don't know. Like, I have a different thought about Normani, but I fully don't know. Like, the. All the lore about Fifth Harmony. Like, I wasn't a harmonizer as they. As they call themselves.
Fran
Me neither.
Rhea
But some of those songs are fucking jams. 100%. So. Loved all those. But I don't really. I didn't know as much of the inner workings of the group, but the fact that they were, like, not in sync. All the comments were like, our girls back together, never in sync. Like, I guess it's just something maybe they've never really done perfectly. Yeah.
Fran
Choreography was not on point. Normani is a fantastic dancer, obviously, but watching those videos, I thought, oh, yeah. You know?
Rhea
Well, you also wonder, like, how long did they really have this in the works? You know? Like, how long do they have to practice? They might not have been able to practice at all.
Fran
Work, you know their song.
Rhea
Yeah, you gotta work, work, work, you.
Fran
Know, they did not, though, before the Journal Soldiers concert. They did not go to work. They just popped up on that stage and said, hey, we're here and we're gonna.
Rhea
Right.
Fran
Throw this Choreography out like we knew seven years ago. We're not even gonna try to hit it.
Rhea
I can't blame them, though, because it's like, what? It's not like they're in the frickin dance rehearsal room being like, all right, guys, like, we're getting five, six.
Fran
Yeah. No, it's like they probably have five.
Rhea
Minutes to practice to get all of them in the same room.
Fran
Right.
Rhea
But it was really sweet to see them all together. No, my thought I was gonna say, like, you know, everyone talks about Camila Cabello and everything, but Normani. There was such a plan for Normani's, like, solo stuff. And it just never, like, who failed her? The label, her team? Like, what happened where we didn't get. I feel like there were so many times.
Fran
Remember the hype?
Rhea
The album was being teased and then it, like, took so long to be released and all these things were coming into play.
Fran
And then she would tweet about the album and then it just went dark.
Rhea
Right? Like, what all. What was going on there? Because she is a star.
Fran
She is. Normani has the star quality that really was such.
Rhea
So bizarre to me. And it wasn't. When they were like. Until I saw them all together, I was like, whoa. Funny enough, I actually had. I missed that part because I had switched to something else. But on the. Where I was at, the TV did have the Samsung TV plus. So I was watching some of the concerts because they did stream this one from Dallas because it was really. It is interesting what the boys are doing right now, because the brothers. The brothers Jonas. Because some shows, it's just like, holy, Slow down, guys. Like, spread these guests around, you know? Yeah, they did. They had Ryan Cabrera come out. They had Kelsey Ballerini come out. They had Fifth Harmony come out. And that's amazing. Everybody's pumped, like, shout out Dallas for getting an amazing show. But at the same time, then they're like, oh, the next show. Like, maybe there isn't an actual guest. Maybe they're doing, like, the administration stuff or whatever. But it's like.
Fran
Right. But as we know as people who try to book.
Rhea
Yeah, no, for sure, for sure, for sure. The big markets is where things Sometimes you can't get.
Fran
No, I'll go to certain locations.
Rhea
I know.
Fran
You know what I mean?
Rhea
You're very.
Fran
So maybe they're like. All of them were like, well, we could all do Dallas. And the brothers are like, all right, well, we're not going to say no. We put it. We've put out the ask and they all want to do Dallas, so they're all coming to Dallas. Yeah, But I saw people be upset that this one did not have the Joe and Nick solo battle. So, yeah, that is. You know what I mean?
Rhea
It's a little. It's a little right push and shove here. You really don't know. You go to a Jonas Brothers, you go to this tour, you're not quite sure what you're gonna get, right?
Fran
Are you getting the Jonas Brothers or are you getting some whack dancing from fifth Harmony? Sorry. Not nice.
Rhea
It was nice. They reunited. It wasn't that bad.
Fran
Listen, I was just so. I know it wasn't. I was throwing in a joke. I was trying to be funny, and it didn't land, and, you know, we can continue on. You know what I mean? I'm just trying to have Cheeky dancer.
Rhea
But, you know, you really, like. You got to take what you can get with the shows because they do treat you in other ways. If you're going solely for the Jones brothers, which I'm sure most people are, you, like. Dallas got one day at a time, and they sang backwards for the first time live, which they haven't done. Both amazing. So, you know, you take. You take your wins, and maybe you don't get the. The Joe. The Joe. Nick battle, but.
Fran
But if ongoing is a huge.
Rhea
And Kevin again. Kevin sang a song again.
Fran
Thank God.
Rhea
Kevin sang a song again.
Fran
Yo, did you see that?
Rhea
Once again, not posted again.
Fran
Did you see that TikTok that they did? And it was like the clapping like this.
Rhea
Yes.
Fran
And Joe was wearing that save a horse jacket. Kevin looked fire at the end of that.
Rhea
I watched that. I liked the outfit change.
Fran
They were good. I watched that, and I was like, kevin has swag. Kevin has unlimited amounts of swag in the studio. Hell, yeah.
Rhea
Hell, yeah.
Fran
And Nick had the least amount of swag in that video, which was tough to see.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
You know what I mean? Cause he usually has.
Rhea
It's high.
Fran
It's high.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
But he started that video, and it just progressively got higher. Went from Nick to Joe with that. That save a horse jacket, and then Kevin fucking swung right in there.
Rhea
I know.
Fran
Mr. Swag over there.
Rhea
I love that he had Danielle's name on his jacket, too. I thought so.
Fran
Sweet.
Rhea
But, like, we. Let's make sure we're still hyping up Kevin. Like, he's clearly singing this song again. We're not forgetting. Release the song, please.
Fran
Please release the damn song.
Rhea
Because now these bigger shows, he's. He's hopping up there and he's saying his new song or old song, I don't know. We don't know.
Fran
We don't know when he wrote this.
Rhea
But it is his.
Fran
We need details and we need it on Spotify stat. But Kevin, it is his get to it.
Rhea
Which is great to see. So yeah, they. They brought out the showstoppers for Dallas for sure.
Fran
They absolutely did. All right, that wraps up the topics, but we gotta get into the weekly Roche report. Cause, ooh, I have something juicy to talk about.
Rhea

Weekly Watch Report on Wednesday. Weekly Watch Report on Wednesday. Weekly Watch Watch. Poor on Wednesday. Weekly Watch, Poor on Wednesday. I like it on Wednesday. Wednesday.
Rhea
On Wednesday. Monday is just a shorter word.
Fran
Yeah, sorry. My throat is, like, a little bit scratchy still. So if that hurt the pipes and if that hurt the ears, my sincerest apologies.
Rhea
Yes. Then blame it on that.
Fran
Right? It. It is totally that. Literally, my ears are clogged to the sky right now. Okay, so. So I watched this documentary on Netflix called the Unknown Number. My goodness gracious. I'm not gonna spoil it because Fran just told me before we started recording that she's gonna watch it and doesn't want it to be spoiled. So although I was planning on revealing the entire documentary in this moment, I'm not going to.
Rhea
Which I'm also think a lot of people, like, it just came out.
Fran
It just came out. I'll hype it up, though. I'll fucking hype it up.
Rhea
Everyone can watch it. So then now we'll talk.
Fran
Yes, everyone watch it so that on Friday when you listen, we will spoil it because Fran's gonna watch it. Yeah. What the fuck? That is all I have to say. Seriously. What? I sat watching it like this the whole time.
Rhea
Can you give me the premise?
Fran
I look.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah, you're shocked and you're frozen.
Fran
Solid and my hands are in the air. I couldn't even place them to the side.
Rhea
I was tense, mouth open, just in disbelief.
Fran
What?
Noah
What?
Fran
Like that?
Rhea
Yeah. What? Yes. I know literally nothing about this.
Fran
Okay.
Rhea
All I've seen is. I've seen it on the Netflix homepage, and I've seen tick tocks of people basically just having that reaction. They're not saying anything about the show. Like, they're not. I mean, yeah, like, they're not, like, giving anything away, but they're just on Tick Tock being like, what the was that?
Fran
No, literally, like this. What?
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
What? Like, it's crazy.
Rhea
So, wait, what's the premise?
Fran
So the premise is there was this girl and boy. They were, you know, a couple. Like, they've known each other since they were 12 and they're starting high school. They're, like, in ninth grade. I may have the ages wrong, but just know it's like they're really young. They're literally young teenage years. They knew each other from 12 years old. And then they're in high school and it's like ninth grade, whatever. And they start getting these text messages to their phones from an unknown number. And the documentary is trying to figure out who is sending these messages. And the messages are like, to the girl, her name's Lo. And then the boy's name is Owen. Like to low. It's like, Owen wants to leave you. He hates you. You have to give him more blow jobs. You. You're anorexic, ugly ass. You're the ugliest person I've ever seen. You should kill yourself. Oh, and hates you. You stupid, ugly. I'm gonna make Owen cream. Cream. He's making me cream in my.
Rhea
Like. Oh. Oh, Jesus. I needed like a holy, like trigger warning on that. That's a. It's really. If you're gonna watch, these are the.
Fran
Messages that come up.
Rhea
Yeah, Yeah.
Fran
I told my parents to watch. My dad called me this morning. He goes. He was like, I wish I never fucking watched that. He was like, I wish I never saw that.
Rhea
Is it multiple episodes or one long thing?
Fran
No, not multiple episodes. It's one long thing. Okay. Little over an hour, I believe. But the text messages are in insane. Like, you should kill. And it went on for two years. So it was like, that's like almost two years. Like, you should kill yourself. You're the.
Rhea
Yeah, I'm like, I'm not. I'm not even. I have so many questions, but I'm not even going to ask them because, oh, wait, I don't want. Like, I want.
Fran
Makes me cream. I'm going to make him cream. Like, you need to be giving more blow jobs that term to stop. Trust me, when the first time I read on my screen the word cream, I don't need. That was one time too many.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
That should never be.
Rhea
No, I don't.
Fran
Whoever came up with the term I hate them. Or making cream.
Rhea
Or making cream.
Fran
There's nothing hot about that. It's actually disgusting.
Riley Arnold
Disgusting.
Fran
Who's getting horned up hearing the word cream?
Rhea
No, no one.
Fran
Nobody.
Rhea
Nobody. It's disgusting. It's not.
Fran
It's not like, not sexy talk. No. And yeah, so that besides the point. Because this shouldn't be that way anyway. But then to Owen, it's like.
Rhea
You.
Fran
Know, he's being like, literally they're being stalked. And like they. This person was texting them, knows their every move. And like, even if he talks to another girl, like, contacts that person's family, like it. And it goes on for a long time.
Rhea
Jeez.
Fran
And then the person, obviously, they do some digging to find out who it is, but the text messages are just so fucked up.
Rhea
Damn.
Fran
All right. Nah, it'll leave you pretty fucked up.
Rhea
I'll watch it. I'll watch it so that we can talk about it for Friday. For sure.
Fran
Yeah, yeah, yeah. What? Like that? Like that. Wild. Moving on. Love Thy Nadir. I watched every episode of Love Thy Nader. It was all eight episodes I did as I was sick and I wanted to throw something on that I could just watch consecutively and be entertained. And I was entertained.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
I mean, I don't know if half this drama was real or not, but I was entertained. You know, it's an entertaining reality show.
Rhea
Absolutely. I think that they have a good. A good formula, for sure. The girls are very entertaining. I think they all have a lot going, like. Like a lot going on in their lives in different ways that it's interesting to see them all interact and the dynamic and working and who wants to do this? Who wants to do that? Everything, like, with that went down with Brooks and Gleb and that stuff. And, I mean, I. On those last couple episodes with all the Ozempic stuff was crazy. I really did not know.
Fran
No.
Rhea
Like, I remember seeing a headline, like, about Brooks saying maybe she had stopped taking them or something, and just thinking, what the Is she taking them?
Fran
Where the sister called her out, being like, you know, what was that tick tock trend where it's like, they're running and it's like, suspect.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Even though, like, they weigh this amount.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
But it was so wild to see. Honestly, though, like, like, kind of props to them for showing it.
Rhea
No, I do appreciate that. I feel like, honesty.
Fran
Exactly. Like, I felt like they were just, like, so honest and, like, real about.
Rhea
Like, look, this is the real, like, as a model, like, this is the. We have to deal with. And whether it's right or wrong, that's another discussion. But, like, I will do anything to book these jobs, and this is what I'm doing.
Fran
Right. And there's so many people that will hide it. But, like, Brooks was like, no, this is what I'm gonna do, because.
Rhea
Yes.
Fran
But it was. It was sad to see, obviously, because you're like, wait. The fact that, like, even on the day of the Maxim shoot, even after, like, the sisters brought in the person to talk to her.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
She still was doing. Because she was like, this. The modeling industry just, like, makes you feel a certain way, but then at the same time, she's like, I'm still gonna do it. Yeah. So that was. That was all very wild and, like, very real to see.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And then just, like, the family dynamic in general. I mean, the parents are, like, such gems. You know what I mean? Like, it was just nice to see the family dynamic.
Rhea
I love their dad.
Fran
I feel like they're just all so open in general. Like, even with, like, their relationships and, you know, with their sister drama. This person's mad at that one. Like, they're not trying to. I didn't get the feeling that they were trying to hide anything on this show.
Rhea
Totally.
Fran
Besides, like, there was something with Brooke Books that she didn't want to discuss with Gleb, which maybe I think if I could. I don't know. People can make their assumptions, but, like, if you watch, you can kind of get a feeling of, like.
Rhea
Yeah. Like, legally, they had to put a freaking disclaimer at the end of every episode. Like, Gleb, Chef Shanko has denied these allegations. Yeah. You know, it's crazy.
Fran
Exactly. So that was interesting. But I feel like they just, like, put it all on the line, and they were just, like, so open.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
And honest.
Rhea
I know. I agree.
Fran
I agree.
Rhea
I. I did enjoy watching it, and. And, you know, the podcast is in. Oh, my God.
Fran
Yes.
Rhea
Wait. I totally forgot, like, a very good chunk of the show, too. When I watched episode six, I was like, whoa. They put in way more of this than I. Than I thought they were going to, which was amazing. I mean, great. I'm like. I'm like, hell, yeah. Front and center. Partial sports chicks in the office. It was amazing. Amazing.
Fran
So exciting for you.
Rhea
Yeah. You were on your.
Fran
Honey, I was on my honeymoon, so that's okay.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
But it was very exciting.
Riley Arnold
I was like, whoa.
Fran
Because I was watching. I wasn't expecting it. I was like, what the hell?
Rhea
I love the girls being like, you know, Brooks is Brooks and great Grace and going on a very popular podcast.
Fran
I know. I was like, oh, yes. Popular podcast. Yeah. That shit was awesome.
Rhea
That was. That was fun. And then I was like, damn, there was more fallout to that episode than I really.
Fran
Right. I was like, oh, my God. The episode caused a little controversy.
Rhea
I was.
Fran
I was locked in. I was like, oh, shit.
Rhea
I know, I know. And it's so funny because I am, you know, like, we are friends with them, which is nice. And they're such. There they are. So lovely. So even seeing, like, the behind the scenes of Brooks, like, being nervous of, like, having to talk about Gleb and all those things, because I didn't fucking know all the shit that was going on with Gleb behind the scenes with the texts and the cheat, like, all that, you know, we had heard rumors, but we were just like everybody else in the.
Fran
I think they kept a lot of it because they knew the show was coming. Exactly. And they needed something to be revealed on the show. Because if you think about the Kardashians, people get. Get upset when, like, we see everything in the news with them and then they watch the show and there's nothing new. Whereas this, it's like, oh, new was being revealed. Because, you know, we heard about maybe gloves.
Rhea
Yeah. But we didn't know what. Right. And it was like. I think they were very clear with Brooks, too. It was like you could pop off and expose him, but it'll all really be exposed because we're filming a reality show right now.
Fran
Yeah, exactly. So I'll give it a B plus. I was very entertained. I watched all eight episodes literally in a row. So thank you for giving me my sick entertainment because I very much enjoyed it. I watched the first two episodes of the Amanda Knox show on Hulu that's starring Grace Van Patten. I really like it.
Rhea
Yeah, it's good.
Fran
I didn't know all the details of this case really, at all, but I think that the way the show is made is really good and very captivating. Obviously, it's dramatized it and you feel like you're maybe watching a show that is not about a real thing that happened, but it absolutely is a real thing that happened. But I'll give that a B plus as well. I thought it was really good Summer. I turned pretty. We talked about the episode last week. I will give that a B plus. A minus. I'll give it an A minus. I don't know why I was trying to be harder on that one. I'll give it an A minus. Excited to see where things go with that. And.
Rhea
Yeah. What a trailer. I love that they did that because they have not really done, like, a trailer for any of the other episodes, but because we really are in. We don't know anything. We don't have any book material to work with that much now. It's like they put out that little trailer.
Fran
So good.
Rhea
Belly popping off. Live your life in Paris. And then when we heard that deer. Dear Belly.
Fran
Yes. Pull the string of the stuffed animal. Yeah. I. Dear Belly was so happy to see, though, that it seems like it stays true to the book in the sense that, like, maybe she has a little rendezvous with another guy. And it's not just the Fishers. Like, you know.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like, let's.
Rhea
Yeah, let her.
Fran
Like, maybe let's branch out. Like, maybe make out with somebody else one time and then you can go back to Conrad. But, like, let's venture out. And that's everything I watched. But, man. Unknown number. So what happened was. Sorry, just go back for a second.
Rhea
You have to grade it, too. You didn't. I don't think you graded.
Fran
Oh, I gotta grade it. But we drove home from the shore. We got home, I was like, oh, we sat on the couch. I'm like, I think I'm gonna fall asleep. And Matt's like, oh, I'm not that tired. Like, do you care if I put this documentary on? And I was like, oh, no, go for it. Like, I'm probably gonna fall asleep anyway. I fall asleep within a minute. Like, he watched the entire documentary. I was fully asleep. I wake up from my nap. He's like, maria, I gotta watch. You gotta watch. He's like, you gotta watch this documentary. And I'm gonna watch it again.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
He was like, you're. I need to see your reaction to this whole thing.
Rhea
And.
Fran
Wow. I mean, like, it. Lived up to it. Like, he was. He was selling it, and I was like, holy fuck, it's fucked up. I'll give it. I'll give it an A. Yeah. Like, you know, obviously, when these things happen, that's not good. It's horrible.
Rhea
No, but you were. I mean, you were captivated, obviously.
Fran
But, wow. If this was, like, a scripted show. Yeah, that's everything I watched. All right.
Rhea
I watched a bunch of stuff this week, weekend, whatever, as well. Love thy nadir, which we just talked about. Selfishly, I'm. I'm giving it a day because I'm in it.
Fran
Oh, okay. Fair enough. Fair enough, darling.
Rhea
First show I've ever graded on this program that I can say I was in. So true. You know, I'm gonna nep a tiz that one up to the top. Yeah, that's an A.
Fran
Fair.
Rhea
What else did I watch? Oh, I know. I was like, what was I so focused on? Love is Buying uk. Oh, my goodness gracious. The finale was Wednesday, baby. And then, like, they did. They aired the reunion on Sunday. These couples, man. Spoiler. I guess if you haven't watched a reunion. Spoiler. Spoiler. But, like, it is really crazy to me that these couples say yes at the altar, and then, like, three months later, they break up. It's like, just say no at the altar. And I knew I felt that way. About. About Cal. And I was like, he is not. Because even, like, Even his family was like, bro, you're gonna. This is gonna fizzle in six months. We know you. And, well, look what happened. Apparently around. It was like. And it was, like, over like, that. It's so crazy because they played, like, part of the package of, like, oh, how was married life? And then she was like, what married life?
Fran
It was like, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Rhea
Broke up. Four. Four couples. No, no, four couples did. We're in the finale. Four couples went to the wedding. The one couple that. That she said no, obviously seems like that was for the best. They, you know, had their drama that they were hashing out that was like, couldn't. You know, I was, like, intrigued a little bit, but whatever. But two of the couples break up around the exact same time, which is kind of bizarre, too. Both the girls were like, New Year's Day. Our guys are like, it's over. Which is kind of crazy. One of the guys. This is now divorce number two. Oh, she was married before.
Fran
Damn.
Rhea
I'm like, also another case of, like, maybe say, both of these guys, I think they were so afraid to say no at the altar because they knew, like, their girls were gonna say yes, that they were like. Like, I think they were afraid of being the bad guy. So it was like, we'll just. Just. We'll just say yes.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
And then they end up breaking up anyway. But the one couple that's still together, Meg and. Oh, Kieran. So cute. Love them. Meg, I think, actually got married in the same wedding dress as me.
Fran
Wow.
Rhea
There's a little different detail on the back, but I'm pretty sure it's the. I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same. She looks stunning and very happy for them. They seem to be going strong.
Fran
That's cute.
Rhea
It really is a crazy phenomenon that they have to keep their whole ass marriage hidden for a year.
Fran
That is crazy.
Rhea
They're like. They're posting on social media, being like, can finally put my ring on. Like, wild. The. He's like, can finally follow my wife back on Instagram. Like, can finally follow my wife on Instagram. It's crazy. That. That's tough.
Fran
I mean, that is very tough.
Rhea
A whole year is really wild that they have to do that. But. But it was a great season. I will say the drama was good. The couples were interesting. Like, there was enough in the reunion that was like, ooh. That, like, what happened between these couples, I'll give it a solid B plus. Like, I really enjoy watching this season. I'm back to. I have. I'm. I gotta dive into it deeper. And I wish I could have just binged the whole thing. But season two of my life with the Walter boys is out.
Fran
It is out.
Rhea
So now I can't be up.
Fran
I can't keep up to date with two like, brother families at this point.
Rhea
I said, so now we got my eyes on one number two, where a girl loves two brothers.
Fran
Now I. I don't have time for that.
Rhea
You know, I know a lot with.
Fran
The Fishers right now.
Rhea
Yeah. And mine is as well. But let me tell you, it was like, so funny. Like, I don't know if it was maybe the opening scene, but at one point in the early. I only watched the first two episodes. So at one point, like a Gracie Abrams song starts playing and I was like, oh, we're just cut like copy paste. You know, we're just. We're doing the whole. We're doing the whole song and dance. And she's back from New York and the drama and Cole wants to talk to her. She doesn't want to talk to Cole. Same scenario though, let me tell you that where you get fed up with Belly. It's just like, like, what are you doing, girl? Like, at least talk to him. She's like, we can't even. Like, it's better. We just don't. And the other guy, what's Alex? I'm like, I don't care about him. He thinks he's some hot shot rodeo guy, went away for the summer. Now the girls love him. I'm like, just not the same. Not, not the same. But I've only watched episode one and two, which I'll give a B. Like, I am.
Fran
You like it?
Rhea
I do.
Fran
Like, you like it.
Rhea
Like, I. I know people are like, ah, this is like, you know, the different version of some right turn Brady. Fine. But it does. I do watch it. I do like it. I watched. I'm behind on.
Noah
Are we grading the Love island reunion?
Rhea
I gave it a B post.
Noah
Oh, you did? Okay. Okay.
Rhea
Yeah. And Amanda Knox. I have to watch episode three. Haven't watched yet. Netflix. Did I watch anything else? No. Bachelor in paradise finale is tonight.
Fran
Tuesday. Wow, that really snuck up on everybody.
Rhea
Yeah. And I'm behind on an episode too, so that does not help. But I am actually very. Like, I almost went searching for a drama on, like, the couples to see if any of them, like, actually stayed together. I guess we'll find out via, like, social and everything after the show ends. But my guess is no. But I don't know that for sure. Yeah, just. Just going off of that. Rituals essential for women 18 plus multivitamin isn't exactly a salad and a pill. I think that's everything I watched. I did watch Cheaper by the Dozen Friday night.
Fran
The first or the second?
Rhea
First.
Fran
Dude, I've been talking about the two brothers. Two brother Dozen. Oh, weekend.
Rhea
Really?
Fran
True. By the dozen two. Specifically Loi.
Rhea
We watched the first. But.
Fran
But no joke. All weekend long tube by the Dozen has been referenced first and second. But mainly the second on my part because we were sitting outside one night and I think it was maybe the first night that we got there. First or second night. Yeah. And there was this family, a large family, we thought family on the beach. And they were singing together. Okay.
Rhea
Like oh my God.
Fran
On a music side as a group, like singing outside, like sitting around da da da. And we were just like, how nice is that? But like, yeah, yeah, yeah, can't be us.
Rhea
You know what I mean?
Fran
But like the whole family, happy go lucky. They're singing Sweet Caroline together. No music playing, just them singing Sweet Caroline. And it reminded. Wow. And it reminded me of that scene in Cheaper by the Dozen two when their lake houses are across from each other and they're singing. There once was a man named Michael Finnegan who had some whiskers on his chin. And then Eugene Lee battling. He's like. And they're like doing the chorus. And then Steve Martin's like, this guy is so competitive. And again, there once was a mad Night Mike. So all weekend long, every time we sat by the fire, I'd be like, there once was a name Mike. Like, I just. It was just referenced a lot. A lot of tune around a dozen. And then I looked it up because we were talking. We were like, there's not a lot of Labor Day movies, right? Like, like, weirdly enough, after I'd been talking about True Brother Dozen 2 all weekend. True Brother Dozen 2 takes place labor Day. It's the Labor Day family cup.
Rhea
Yes.
Fran
I was like, how fitting.
Rhea
So true. So true. I didn't watch the second one, but it was either Thursday or Friday night. I forget what night. But I was just like, ugh, I just need to, like, watch something that's gonna make me happy because I'm just like, sad. And I was. I saw T Brother Dozen on Hulu. I was like, yep, play. It's just a classic. It's just a classic.
Fran
I think I might do a 2 first tonight.
Rhea
I cried watching it again. I cried watching T Brother do also. Cuz then I like, I also kind of forgot about the frog dying. And then I was like, I didn't.
Fran
Want to bring that part up about.
Rhea
It, you know, like. And I was like, I knew that, but I also like it.
Fran
It.
Rhea
It hit me again in the moment. But the. I mean, Cheaper Brother doesn't is an A movie. It is just.
Fran
And top notch, 2 brother doesn't II is an A. It is. It is like 2 brother doesn't 2 is even better than 2 brother dozen, which is an amazing movie.
Noah
Godfather.
Fran
Yeah, I. I love To Brother too. Like, I put it up there as one of my favorite movies.
Rhea
It really is a good one.
Fran
God, I'm so happy you brought that up about it all weekend.
Rhea
I know you soaked his underwear in meat, so. Ashton Kutcher. Sneaky. So funny in that movie.
Fran
So funny.
Rhea
So funny. Great movie. I needed a little. I needed a little bit of that to pick me up. But yeah, I mean, I crushed all of Love thy nadir as well. So that obviously took up a lot of. A lot of my time. And that's everything that I watched.
Noah
I have Amanda Knox. I watched the first. What is it, three?
Rhea
There's three episodes out now.
Noah
Yeah, I. I think it's okay. I don't love. I don't love it. If I'm just being honest, I would say fine. It's like a B minus for me so far. Heard B minus is a pretty good score. Yeah, I just don't, I don't know about, like, the way it's being told. It's just kind of throwing me off a little bit.
Fran
Okay, fair.
Noah
And, yeah, I think she's all right.
Rhea
What a. What a review.
Fran
Are you trying to say she's a bad actress and you don't want to say it? Is that what's happening right now?
Noah
Kind of.
Fran
Of really?
Noah
No, Not a bad actor. I'm not saying she's bad. I, I'm just seeing her. You know what I think it might be? I think I'm seeing her character from Tell Me Lies. And, like, I don't think she's, like, playing it different. Like, I'm just still seeing that character. I don't know.
Rhea
I think that I don't know enough about a man.
Fran
I don't see Lucy in this.
Rhea
Yeah, I don't see Lucy at all.
Noah
Like, mannerisms and stuff. I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe, like, I don't really know Amanda Knox in real life. Like, how she acts. Well, like, haven't seen her on the screen.
Rhea
Really can't say we know her either.
Noah
Definitely don't know her, her in person. But I think that's probably why that, that's probably my main issue. And maybe that's just a me issue, but I, I can't shake Lucy.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
All right. I haven't gotten that feeling, but I could understand.
Rhea
No one is harder on actors shaking characters than Noah is being like. Like, if they're, like, on a TV show, they're like, no, sorry, you're actually stuck as that person.
Fran
It might just be a Noah issue. Like, it might just be. No stuck seeing characters.
Noah
There are, there are many Lucy moments. She's, like, getting interrogated and she's like, like, like just frazzled. Like, I don't know.
Fran
Honestly, no, I feel that way at all that way.
Rhea
I will say, though, I do think a lot of people feel that way of, like, oh, you just immediately think of the character like other characters that they play. For sure. But I will say I, I, I do think you, it, it bothers you enough that you have to bring it up.
Fran
You know, Can I just take a moment in this discussion to bring up how much I can't stand Austin Butler voice. Like, dude, he's a wreck.
Noah
You know what?
Fran
Wait.
Rhea
I have the exact opposite feeling.
Noah
I've actually gone a Little bit the other way. Where I think he's kind of shaken the twang a little bit.
Rhea
And he's totally shaken. Deep voice.
Fran
Guys. His interviews.
Noah
But he's trying to be a movie star.
Rhea
I've been eating them up.
Fran
He's like, talking like this, and it's, like, so deep. It's like, what's going on?
Noah
I feel like it's like campaign that they plan where, like, you are going to be a movie star. There was one clip where it was.
Fran
I think the director.
Noah
The director goes, you're. You don't even like to go on your phone. You don't even know how to use a phone. And he's like, yeah, I don't really use my cell phone. It's like.
Fran
He's like, yeah, wow. Every video, but I don't want to hang out. It's like, all right. Does your voice hurt from trying to talk like that the whole time?
Rhea
I don't think he's trying to talk like that.
Noah
Like, his voice, literally, what a day.
Fran
Like, yeah, he's home and he's like, la, la la la la la la la la.
Noah
I don't know how much longer I can do this.
Rhea
Wow. I've actually. Wow. Mark this in the list of things Rhea and Fran disagree with. Since it's a short list, could be number one on the list. I've been eating up every him and Zoe and every interview they've been doing. I'm like, I could listen to him talk all night long. Like, I'm like, do a bedtime story. Austin Butler, I love your voice. Right now.
Fran
I'm. Did you see when she asked him has he ever thought about recording a bedtime story? He was like, yeah, that's not a bedtime.
Rhea
He's like, yeah.
Fran
Here's the thing, though, that I do think it would be soothing.
Rhea
I do think it's soothing. I really like it.
Fran
I do think it would be soothing to hear him read a bedtime story. I just don't believe it's his voice. That's the issue I'm having. Like, I. I feel like he just goes out back. He's in this movie. You're right. This movie star, like, Mode right now. He smokes about 10 cigarettes before he heads into the interview. And then he's like, I'm ready. Home alone.
Rhea
I love home alone. I think it'd be hard to talk.
Fran
To one of my best friends. Oh, God. Go see God stealing. Run around the bars, dude. My God. It's gotta hurt. At the end of the day.
Rhea
I Think that's just his voice, though.
Fran
I mean, maybe. So why choose that? Yeah, it's gotten raspier. It's gotten raspier.
Rhea
Well, people's voice get raspier as it.
Fran
Happened to me at one point. Yeah.
Rhea
And.
Fran
But not like deeper.
Rhea
Ria's voice got deeper.
Fran
It did, but that's okay.
Rhea
That's totally, totally okay, bro. Well, Austin, you haven't lost me, pal. I think your voice is real.
Noah
I do think he's shaking the. The Elvis of it now. It's just the deepest.
Rhea
Yes, I think so. I don't hear the Elvis. Do you hear the Elvis?
Fran
I'm not hearing the Elvis. I'm just hearing.
Rhea
Yeah, Yeah, I love it.
Noah
I'm seeing him.
Fran
What are they selling, chalk?
Noah
He's just. Yeah, he's just like permanently pensive. He's just like.
Rhea
Yeah, Yeah.
Fran
I started off strong by saying I can't stand his voice. Like, that was a little heavy and more of a joke. But like, when I see the. The videos, I'm like, come on, Come on. He's leaning into it.
Rhea
Yeah, he may be leaning into it, but I do think he has like, some people just have that person. Like, I think he just has that personality of like, brooding move, like brooding actor. I just don't whether that's been bestowed upon him or he has really bought into that. But now he's like, it's really gone.
Noah
Like, Brad Pitt could just be himself. He doesn't have.
Fran
Austin Butler is not a guy. You want to go. Yeah, I could like, hang out with him for hours. You know what I mean?
Noah
I'd be like, are you okay? Do you need like a mint?
Rhea
I watched him at a couple events. Like, I watched.
Fran
You need a whole cough drop.
Rhea
Yeah, I watched him at like, he's been in a couple events recently and like bars and stuff, like, doing like, pop up things. I've seen tik toks of him, like, talking to fans and like having normal conversations.
Noah
I'm sure he's.
Rhea
He seems very locked in, like eye contact, asking questions, never on his phone. Yeah, he. And the voice is still. Like, there's no way, no way they.
Fran
Can hear him in the bar.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Like, say that again.
Rhea
They are still. Yeah, yeah. Can you speak up a little bit? Oh, man.
Noah
Summer I turned pretty.
Rhea
Oh, I didn't gray the summer I turned pretty.
Fran
It's an A. Yeah.
Rhea
The end of. The end of the. The end of Jeremiah.
Noah
It's an A. Yeah. I also like that Jenny Han posted the. The terminal thing for the airport where did that? Airport does do that, so. Yeah, I stand corrected.
Rhea
Touche. Jenny.
Fran
Tip of the cap.
Noah
Yeah. I don't know if I like that they put the trailer because now we know that she went. Like, I. I didn't want to know if she went or not, you know, like, to Paris. Because she. They made it.
Rhea
You didn't.
Noah
Before I watched the next episode. I wanted that.
Rhea
Oh. Like, maybe she was gonna, like, run to Conrad.
Noah
Like, I mean, that's kind of. They cut it.
Fran
It.
Noah
Her, like, walking toward him.
Rhea
Yeah. I just think, like, the one thing that we, like, we know in the fact, like, for sure in the book, she does go abroad.
Noah
So I think it was, like, uncharted waters.
Rhea
Yeah, we are. Because it's. It's three pages of material.
Noah
Oh.
Rhea
Like, it's like she goes. I mean, I'm not gonna say it all. I'm not gonna say it all, but it's not worth three episodes of stuff. Like, it's like, she goes abroad.
Noah
Yeah.
Rhea
And, like, that's. You know, we don't have any. We don't have details of her adventures abroad. We're gonna get that in these episodes.
Fran
Yes.
Noah
I'll give it a B plus.
Rhea
Cool.
Noah
Yeah. I really want it to be an A, but it's just. It's just not in my gut. I just don't feel it.
Rhea
Gotta trust your gut.
Noah
Although the ending was great. You know what? I'll give an A. Minus.
Rhea
Fuck, yeah.
Noah
Okay. And then do whatever you want to do. Love Island Reunion. I think I'll. I'll give a C. Like, I can't even remember.
Rhea
I'm so confused.
Fran
Love Island Reunion. Like, didn't we great it last Monday?
Noah
No, we didn't.
Rhea
No. Because it came out Monday night, remember?
Fran
Oh, wow.
Rhea
I forgot about that.
Noah
Well, that's what I just said. And you said we graded it, but you were talking about Love is blessed.
Rhea
About Love is blind.
Noah
Yeah. Love Island.
Fran
I forgot. Totally.
Rhea
Oh, you said Love island reunion.
Noah
Yeah.
Rhea
Oh, see, I've been. I keep saying, like, love Island. Love is blind. I've been saying the wrong thing every time.
Fran
I thought when he said Love island reunion, he just meant to say love is blind.
Rhea
Yes, I thought. That's what I thought, too. I thought he was also saying love is blind.
Noah
No, I mean, it was after last Monday.
Rhea
I mean, the Love island reunion is like a C. Yeah, that's.
Noah
That's.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
I can't even remember it. All I remember is how much I hate.
Fran
Right. Oh, my God. I can't believe that that was on Monday.
Rhea
Yeah, that was.
Fran
That feels like it was three weeks ago.
Noah
If it didn't have Andy, it'd be an F probably. Like.
Fran
All right.
Noah
I mean. Yeah, I watched the first two and a half episodes of the Katrina on Netflix. Mm, very good. You know.
Rhea
Yeah, yeah. It's crazy, but how many episodes are on the Netflix one?
Noah
Oh, wait, you were watching Hulu.
Rhea
Hulu?
Noah
Oh, I thought you were watching Netflix, so I said, oh, I'll watch the one that Fran watched.
Rhea
No, I. Because Hulu came out earlier. Like the Hulu one came out two weeks ago.
Fran
This is like when they did Fire Fest.
Rhea
Yeah, the Hulu one came out two weeks ago and the. The Netflix one just came out like this past weekend.
Noah
Oh, okay.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
Well, yeah, there's only three episodes of Netflix. I think it's good. Like, it's weird to be like, oh, it's not that great. I think it's great. Like.
Rhea
No, it's. Yeah, yeah, it's well done.
Noah
Yeah. And now I am curious to watch the Hulu one.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
But that would be like kind of overload on.
Rhea
Yeah, it's a lot. Yeah, it's a lot.
Noah
But I'll give it like a B plus. It's interesting. It's the best part is just like hearing the direct. The people who are there.
Rhea
Yep, yep. For sure.
Noah
Some of the like actual like production of it is kind of weird, but.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
And then I watched the F1 movie with Brad Pitt.
Rhea
How was it?
Noah
It's kind of exactly what I expected, but like a little worse.
Rhea
Oh.
Fran
Ooh.
Noah
But I also think that this movie out of any of the movies of the summer would be like the one that you should see in theaters. Probably.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
From what I've heard.
Fran
I've heard it was a big part of it. I thought it was pretty good.
Noah
Yeah. After I watched it, it was like a B minus in my mind. But it's, It's. I was trying to be. Not be honest with myself and I'm gonna be honest and it's a C plus in my mind.
Fran
I just be honest with yourself.
Noah
I think. Cuz Brad Pitt was in it. I was like, no, it's in the Bs, but it's just not. It is very corny. And yeah, I just. There wasn't like much character. I wasn't really invested in the characters. And yeah, I did feel like Brad Pitt was just being Brad Pitt. Like.
Rhea
Would you say it was a fun movie?
Noah
It was fun movie and I enjoyed watching it and it was just corny and kind of of not not great, but like the. The action sequences and all that stuff is very cool. And I'm sure, like, if you saw it in theater, like I heard it's like, audibly.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
Crazy. But yeah, it's a C. Okay. But still would recommend it if you're looking for some. Something fun to watch.
Fran
Yeah, I'm not dying to watch it with the C rating, but, you know, think about it. I'll think about it.
Noah
Brad Pitt looks great. I will say that that sells it.
Fran
That sells it.
Rhea
Yeah. I think that's what they were banking on to sell it as well.
Fran
All right. Is that everything?
Noah
That's it.
Rhea
Cool.
Fran
All right. That's everything we watched. This segment is brought to you by Armani luminous silk concealer. Armani beauty believes in enhancing your natural beauty, giving you that lit from within glow. I've been using the Armani luminous silk concealer for probably exactly a year now. It's my go to. It's my staple. I love the luminous silk concealer because I feel like it's perfect for like a no makeup makeup look when I don't want to do full glam and I put that concealer under my eyes or just like on some blemishes that I have or little spotting and it makes me feel like I'm ready to just walk out the door. Or today when I'm got full glam on and I did, you know, my concealer with it, I'm shaping it up all over the place. It's hydrating, it's glowy, it's perfect. And luminous silk concealer is known for being a multipurpose, lightweight, hydrating and blurring all day wear concealer that conceals, smooths, and brightens skin. It provides weightless, medium buildable coverage during a flawless, luminous finish that feels like your skin. That's why I love luminous silk concealer. Because like I said, if I don't want to do a full face of makeup, but I still want to put a little something on, I put that luminous silk concealer on and I feel so comfortable with it on my face all day. So shop your perfect shade now at Sephora. All right, everyone. We are here with a very special guest. We are joined by Dancing with the Stars pro Riley Arnold. Thank you so much for joining us.
Riley Arnold
Hey, I'm so happy to be here.
Fran
We are so excited to talk all things Dancing with the Stars. The cast has been revealed, the partners are revealed. So we can't wait.
Riley Arnold
So fun. It's so exciting. And this season is already looking like so, so good so, yeah, it's just so fun.
Rhea
How are you feeling today now that the announcement is out? Everybody knows who you're paired with?
Riley Arnold
I feel amazing, honestly. Just like such a relief that I can find. Finally start talking about it and sharing with everybody, like, what's happening this season. But honestly, it's just so exciting. This season is going to be so different for me and so different from what I've had before, which I'm really excited about. And Scott is honestly the best partner I could have asked for, so I'm really, really happy.
Rhea
When what was like the first meeting.
Riley Arnold
Like with Scott, Honestly, perfect. We, like, immediately just clicked. He is so funny, so fun, and I feel like our energy is just like very well matched. So when he walked in the room, I was just like, oh. Because you never know.
Rhea
Yeah.
Riley Arnold
Like they could walk in the room and the energy could just be, like, not good. You could not get along. And luckily he came in the room and everything was just super positive and super great. So I was like, okay, this is gonna be a great season.
Fran
That is amazing. I mean, there's been so much talk online about who the partners are gonna be. I feel like more than ever it's like, who's gonna be paired up with who.
Riley Arnold
Yes.
Fran
You know, a lot of speculation of who you were going to be paired up. When did you know it was going to be Scott?
Riley Arnold
So I knew actually, literally right before I had met him. I, like, had no idea who I was going to be with this year. Obviously there was so much speculation. And so I kind of like, mentally prepared for maybe what was going to happen. But then I heard that Scott was going to be my partner and I was like, wait, what? He's on this show? And I was like, like, so, so happy because I am such a big fan of him and his music and pentatonix, like, ever since they started. And so it was really cool. But I literally found out, like, right before I stepped into the room to meet him.
Fran
Yeah, that is so cool. Especially being a fan.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Fran
And now he has to learn from you. It's so exciting.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, no, it's really cool.
Rhea
I like also that they did go with a different pairing than what everybody kind of thought because, yeah, like you said, it is different from you. I know everyone online was like, oh, Riley and Robert, you know, but it is. I think it would have ended up being very similar to your last season, which was amazing and great and we loved watching you and Steven was so fun. But this is a good mix up. What do you think? Like, the biggest challenge for you is gonna be this season.
Riley Arnold
I mean, it's definitely just gonna be a different season for me, which I feel like I just gotta, like, prepare for that. But at the same time, I'm really, really excited to see what happens because I don't really know what to expect because everyone's just so different and you have a different experience each time. But, like, the dancing is going to be different for me. I do have someone who's older than me now. Like, not as much as my age. Not that he's old at all. Scott is still very, very young, obviously, but it's just going to be a different experience. But I'm so excited because all the Dancing With Stars fans have not seen me in that light and haven't seen me work in that way and dance in that way. So I'm actually really excited to hopefully show everybody what I can do and what I can do as a dancer and teacher and choreographer.
Fran
For sure. Yeah. What was your biggest takeaway from last season with Steven? Because we all loved watching you too. Like, it brought so much joy to everybody. So what would you say was the biggest takeaway from that?
Riley Arnold
Honestly, being with Steven was so, so amazing. He is just such a light, and he was so easy to work with with, and I feel like I really, really grew as a dancer with Steven. He helped me in so many ways to, like, I don't know, be creative because he had so many amazing talents and he was so gifted in gymnastics and tricks and all that. So I got to use, like, a different creative side that I've never used before. So I'm hoping I can take it into this season and grow even more. But it was such a good season last year.
Fran
So good.
Rhea
Yes, it. It really, really was. I feel like with your, you know, the first season, there was a lot of outside noise and drama, too. What are you looking forward to now? Like, what. How do you feel as a pro going into third season?
Riley Arnold
I feel so much more prepared. I feel like I've experienced a lot. I've grown a lot as a person, and I've learned a lot in this whole life. So I just think it's really awesome that I can go into my third season knowing those things and understanding what I need to do and exactly what I'm doing. And it's really just like all the things that have happened have only prepared me and made me a better person. So I'm just super grateful for it. Absolutely, yeah.
Fran
What's some advice that was given to you when you first started out as.
Riley Arnold
A pro, my best piece of advice that I received was from my oldest sister, Lindsay. She, I remember her vividly saying this before I like drove to California with my mom, she was just like, be yourself, like always, just be yourself because you don't want to lose yourself and lose who you are. And if people don't like you for who you are, they don't deserve your time. So be yourself, be authentically yourself and just love what you do and always be proud of what you do because if you try to be something for somebody else, then you'll never truly be happy. And I like didn't understand it at the time because I was just fresh out of high school and it was just like, oh, I'm going to la, I'm moving to LA and doing this job. And I was so, so excited, which I still am, so excited. But I didn't understand what she meant by that. But now that I see that, I'm so grateful that I got that piece of advice because I remind myself every day to just be myself and be happy and do the things that I love and what makes me happy.
Rhea
Yeah, that's so great. I love watching because now with social media we get to see so much more of the pros and the pros lives and all those things. And I think like, like getting to see your behind the scenes stuff but then also like your family and we get to see your, you know, your sisters are on there and you're, you have like the cutest little nieces. Like they're just so cute, so fun. What has been like the best part of getting to share all those moments with people?
Riley Arnold
Honestly, just my family is the very best. It's such an amazing thing that I have them as a support group because I genuinely could not do it without them. They visit me all the time, they're always there for me and being able to share my experience with them is really surreal and special because I grew up looking up to each and every one of them in every aspect of life. Whether that's education, whether that's dance, like in every way, I always looked up to them. So now that they can be a part of my life and supporting me and what I'm doing, it's just a really full circle moment and super, just amazing. And obviously it's so awesome to have my nieces and nephews come and visit me too because I can be their fun aunt and they can like watch me do my thing and hopefully they'll want to do it someday too. So it's just really special being able to share that with them. And obviously, it's really cool to be able to share my family and our family life with people on social media, because, I don't know, I think it's really refreshing to see, like, sisters who support each other, because that's generally what we are. We are best friends, and we just want the very best for each other.
Rhea
Are you guys all. All dancers?
Riley Arnold
So, yeah, we all grew up dancers. And then Lindsay did Dancing with the Stars. My second sister, Jensen, she went on so youo Think youk Can Dance, and she got second on that show. And then my other sister, she danced all the way up into high school. And then she's actually a PA now, so she went to PA school barely. She's very, very smart. And then there's me.
Fran
Was Dancing with the Stars always the plan for you, you think, or did it just magically so happen to be.
Riley Arnold
I mean, it was definitely always the plan. I remember, like, watching my sister Lindsey, when I was literally 8 years old. I watched her at the taping, and I was like, this is gonna be me one day. I'm gonna make this happen. So I spent my whole life getting the best ballroom training and just being prepared for that. Obviously, you never know what's gonna happen because sometimes they don't cast new people on the show each season. Sometimes they're really happy with their cast and they don't want to add anybody. So I wasn't really expecting it, but I was really worried because I was, like, kind of banking on that. And, like, I remember my senior year of high school just kind of being like, okay, well, I really want to be on Dance of Stars, but I'm not gonna know till, like, the end of summer. So I was just kind of, like, floating around, maybe gonna go to school. And then when I got that opportunity, I was like, thank goodness. Like, I get to do what I love, and I'm following my dreams, which is really special. But it was all just a crazy whirlwind, and I'm just grateful to be here.
Fran
What was that, that call, like, finding out that you're on Dancing with the Stars? Like, take us through that. How you end up on Dancing with the Stars.
Riley Arnold
Oh, it was insane. I just remember. So I did a zoom call because they had known me before because I did Dance With Stars juniors when I was, like, 13 years old, so they knew who I was. So I had a zoom call with the producer as, like, two of the producers from the show. And I just, like, talked to them. They were like, we're not gonna do troop this year. So I was like, dang it, I may not be on, because, like, I don't know if they want to take a chance of me being a pro this year. So I was just kind of like, okay, well, that was a good zoom call, but I don't know what's gonna happen. So I just kind of, like, sat around. I, like, almost signed up for esthetician school, and then I was just literally sitting on my couch at home. Like, two weeks later, I was, like, about to take a nap, and I just, like, see Dina Katz on my phone, which is the casting director of the show. And I was like, why is she calling me? Is she like. I was like, maybe she's calling me to be like, we don't have a spot for you this year, but, like, maybe next year. Like, that's what I was fully expecting. Then she was like, how would it feel to be a pro this season? And I was like, wait, what?
Fran
Oh, my God.
Riley Arnold
So I was honestly just so shocked, but, like, so, so happy because it was, like, everything I wanted, and it was really, really cool.
Fran
That is so incredible.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Fran
I mean, what a moment. Like, you're just sitting on that. You're just like, oh, I guess I'll go to school.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, seriously. I was like, I don't know what else I'm gonna do, but we'll figure it out.
Rhea
What was the reaction from your. From your family when you told them you.
Riley Arnold
They were so, so happy for me because they knew that, like, that was what I wanted to do for so long, and, yeah, they were just so happy for me and just really, really excited because they watched Lindsay do the show, and they saw all the amazing things she got to do with it and the fun things that she got to experience, and so the fact that I can have that as well, I think they were just really, really happy and excited for it.
Rhea
Do you think. Think Lindsay would ever come back for Dancing with the Stars?
Riley Arnold
I mean, we'll see.
Rhea
Yeah. I mean, I just feel like it'd be so cute to see you guys together.
Riley Arnold
I, like, want her to do a season with me so, so bad. I would be so happy if she did, But, I mean, from what I hear, she's trying for baby number three, so that's what she's working on right now, but we'll see. I would love so much for her to be with me.
Rhea
I would, too, if my kids were that cute.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Like, seriously, Every single time.
Riley Arnold
Let's make another One. Oh, my God, they're so, so cute.
Rhea
You're so cute. And even going to, like, when they would all go watch you on tour.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Rhea
Was. Was, like, so sweet. All cheery for you, I think. Did you get. I think you got injured, maybe when they all. They all went. Yeah.
Riley Arnold
So I had a terrible mishap.
Rhea
I feel creepy that I know this, but I'm like, it is on social media. It's okay, let's talk about it.
Riley Arnold
No. Yeah. So I was at my hometown show, Utah. So, so excited to perform. Like, so happy to finally be in my hometown, performing for my family, performing for, like, my past teachers, friends. Like, I had so many people there. I remember having a pretty weird feeling, like, going into the show. Like, I was like, something just feels off. And, like, I don't know what was wrong with me, but I was like, what's going on? Like, something is, like, going to happen tonight. And, like, I don't know what it is, but I, like, remember going into the show and I, like, thought to myself before the show, I was like, like, I hope I make it to the end of the show tonight and I can show my family all my dances. And I was like, whoa, Riley. Like, what are you doing?
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Yeah.
Riley Arnold
Like, that was a crazy, intrusive thought. So I go in, I dance, I do, like, our first opening number. And then my second dance is my dance with Steven. Literally halfway through that dance, I roll my ankle pretty bad because I had rolled my ankle prior on the season of Dance with Stars with Steven, but it wasn't nearly as bad. But because I had injured it before, it was just way worse the second time around. But I rolled it pretty bad. And then I came off and I just immediately started swelling. And, like, the therapist came over and was like, yeah, you're. You can't dance tonight. And I was like, what? And it was like, we had two shows and two separate days in Utah, so I was gonna have two opportunities to perform in my hometown, and I didn't get to do any of. Was really, really heartbreaking. Like, so, so sad. But. But it's okay. Yeah, we got through it. And I think it happened for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. And luckily, I was in Utah, so I was surrounded by family. I had people helping me. My dad's a doctor, so he was able to set me up with all the appointments. But what was good is I could go home, sleep in my bed, and, like, have my family to be there with me. If it would have happened in some random place, like, Six hours away, I would have been like, so, so much sadder. So it's a positive out. Yes.
Fran
Positive outlook, although.
Riley Arnold
Exactly.
Fran
Very sad. And I'm sure the time will come that you can perform in Utah.
Riley Arnold
Yes. For sure.
Fran
Or we might write Utah off.
Riley Arnold
Yes. I'm like, I can't do it, you guys. Sorry. I'm too different.
Rhea
Come visit me. Yeah, visit me somewhere else. Besides, obviously the injury, how did you enjoy doing the tour?
Riley Arnold
It was really fun. It was such a good tour and touring with Steven was so much fun. And doing our dances and just, just extending the joy of the season was really awesome. We went to so many cool places. We did so many shows, which was really, really cool. But I had the best time. And also having Ezra on the road with me was really fun. And he's just my bestie, so I can get through anything with him, but it was really fun.
Fran
We love that we had Ezra in recently. Yeah. And just to hear all about, you know, how you guys grew up together and now you're here together. Like, is that just not insane to you guys?
Riley Arnold
No, it's actually crazy. What's crazy is, like, I was like the little sis. Like, he was best friends with my older sister Brinley, and I remember always just looking at them being like, I want to be their friend so bad. Like, I was just always the little sis that would just tag along to everything. So now that, like, me and Ezra are like, as good of friends as we are now, it's just really fun.
Rhea
Yeah, that is. That is so nice. And you got getting to have Steven on tour as well. What is like the difference in being a pro on the season with your, your star? Yeah. And then having to do, like having to do the tour.
Riley Arnold
So in the season it's way more stressful because it's like each week you have to show up, you have to get better. You have to like, prove to obviously the audience of America that you are getting better and you're improving and you want that, but also you want to improve your score. So it's just always that. And obviously each week we're choreographing completely new dances every week, sometimes multiple dances a week. But on tour you obviously have like a two week period where you learn all your dances. And I guess that can get super overwhelming sometimes. But once you're out on the road, it's really just fun. It's almost like a victory tour. You just, like, get to feel people's love. You get to, like, feel the influence that you had and Then you get to perform the dances that you really enjoyed and just show everybody, like, the fun that you had over the season.
Rhea
Yeah, that is so nice. Yeah, I feel like it's so fun.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, it's very fun.
Fran
During the season, who do you think is the hardest judge to perform for?
Riley Arnold
Ooh, I don't know. That's hard. I feel like Derek is scary to perform for because he knows so much, so he could catch like the biggest or the tiniest mistake ever. And so it's like you got to make sure that everything is, like, perfect or else if anyone's going to notice, it's Derek for sure. But he's so nice. So it's like, I don't know.
Fran
Balances out.
Riley Arnold
Yes, it really does balance out.
Fran
How have you dealt with the pressure of, you know, you're trying to teach the star that you're coupled up with.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Fran
But you're also a new pro at the same time and balancing the emotion and pressure on yourself.
Riley Arnold
Yeah. I feel like I had a hard time curving with that and like learning that because it's super hard. Like, it can be very hard to take on someone else's nerves and your nerves as well. But I think that I, I kind of mentally prepared myself for it and also watching my sister on the show for so many years really helped me see that and understand that and like, see kind of the stress that you go through, but also how awesome it is in the end when you create something that you're super proud of and you can just show everybody. But I also think, like, naturally I just tried to learn my very best. I felt like I learned very quickly how to get through all of the things and it ended up working.
Fran
Yeah. And then the added pressure of that with social media. Did you expect yourself to blow up so much on social media after the first season?
Riley Arnold
Honestly, no. I remember my first season just being like social media wasn't really a thing. Like dancing with the People on Dance Stars wouldn't really post on social media. But I remember, like, I was reflecting to my first year coming to GMA and I was like, I remember I used to like make tiktoks and almost be nervous to make tick tocks because I was like, I don't want anyone to make fun of me for making.
Rhea
Them or like, is this allowed?
Riley Arnold
Am I allowed to like, go to a dancing tick tock? I would always do them in private, but I remember just being like, I just want to share everything that I'm doing. I just want to make fun day in the Lives Good. Get ready with me. I want to do fun dance TikToks. I really didn't, like, think anything of it. I was just like, I want to share my life on Dancing with the Stars. And then people really enjoyed that behind the scenes and really enjoyed seeing those things, and it really picked up, which was crazy. But it was, like, mostly just fun for me. Like, it was just a little, like, documentation of, like, my life and what was going on at that time.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
How do you kind of balance now that, like, sharing and wanting to share and putting that all on the Internet, on social media, and obviously the people have their thoughts and feelings or whatever.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
And your family and, you know, you have an adorable boyfriend, so you're sharing all those things too. So what do you do to kind of balance it off?
Riley Arnold
I mean, I think I just. What's really nice is lately with my boyfriend, I feel like when I'm with him, I just block out the rest of the world. And I feel like that's really hard to find in people sometimes where you can just be with them and forget about things for a little bit. And so that was one of the first things that I was like, oh, he's awesome. Is when I was with him, I didn't think about the stressful things of work. I didn't think about the outside world and opinions or anything like that. I just focused on, like. Like, how am I right now? How is he? Like, what are we doing tonight? Like, which was really, really nice. So I think just keeping private things in your life, private and sacred to you is really, really important for me, because you gotta have that time to just step away. You don't want everything to be about that because then you'll just get super invested and super wrapped into it. But honestly, my whole community and the people that support me are so sweet and so understanding, and I love sharing my life and I love sharing the ups and downs of my life. I feel like, especially with type 1 diabetes, it's been a crazy thing that I've been able to share, and it's honestly helped me so much in my journey because every time I share it, there are so many people with it as well who go through the same exact things as me. So the fact that I can have an impact on somebody is really special. And that makes me want to share my life even more because I want to be a help to someone else on their road of life.
Rhea
It's being such a role model, especially for, you know, people who are also dealing with type 1 diabetes. Who like younger kids who maybe watch. They're like, oh, my God, look, she's a pro on Dancing with the Stars. I think it really is so great because it's like, I can, you know, I can do anything.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
Look at. Look at Riley.
Fran
And do you feel like it. It helps you get through. Through those hard times a little bit more, you know, when you're posting, because some people go through it and they don't share with anybody and they're kind of struggling through behind the scenes. But with you, you're so open about it, and then you have that support from so many people dealing with the same thing.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, no, it helps me so much. I've received so much advice from my comment sections. Like, honestly, I'll post certain things first, like, certain questions and get really good advice. But it really does just. It keeps me motivated because I remember when I was first diagnosed, I was like, I wish I had somebody to look up to right now. I wish I had somebody to see and be like, oh, their life is completely normal. They're doing all the things they want to do. So that is what motivates me every day. Truly. I want to do the best I can to be what I've always wanted to be since I was a little girl. For myself, but also for others. Watching that, they can see that they can accomplish anything that they set their mind to, no matter what they're going through in life. And I just hope I can be a splice of that to somebody. But really, that is my biggest motivation in this all, and that's why I'm still here and I still, like, can get through all the things that life throws at me because I want to inspire others.
Fran
And the comment section, it could be a dangerous place, but could also be a helpful place.
Riley Arnold
Yes, exactly. Exactly.
Fran
Sometimes they do have good advice.
Riley Arnold
Yes, they do.
Fran
So great.
Rhea
We. It's not out yet for our listeners. Listening will be later this week. But we got to talk to Julianne Hough this morning, and she was telling us a little bit how, you know, in those earlier seasons, it was a little different with the pros. She said it felt like, you know, the pros were very competitive and felt that. And she's like, you know, through the years, it's changed, and now there's so many different dynamics. Obviously there's really family who are on there together couples and married couples and friends and all these things.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Rhea
How do you feel like that competition is like, with your. Your fellow pros?
Riley Arnold
Honestly, it's just like a big friend Group, like, there really isn't that much competitive spirit. I think we all get competitive, but not towards each other. You know, it's more just like, we really want to make it to this competition, but I don't want to knock you out. Like, I feel bad if I knocked you out, but it's like, we all just get competitive because we're dancers, but it's very much a family oriented thing. We're all super nice to each other. We're all super supportive. Everyone has always been super kind to me and super helpful to me. And obviously they were such good friends to my sister Lindsay because she grew up with all of them and danced with all of them. So honestly, like, I feel like they're just my big brothers and sisters who I've known for my whole life, and it's never felt like, oh, I don't like you because you're in my competition. Like, it's very much family oriented.
Rhea
That's so nice. Have you met the new pro?
Riley Arnold
Yes, I have.
Rhea
Yes.
Riley Arnold
Yes. He's so sweet and he's so good, and I think he's gonna be an awesome addition to the show. I can't wait to see him dance.
Fran
People are very excited about that.
Rhea
I think anytime you have, like, Taylor Swift attached to anything, Right. People are gonna be freak out, literally. It is. It is.
Riley Arnold
It really is.
Rhea
It really is. You're hitting the jackpot.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Rhea
There's so many, you know, themed nights and everything with Dancing with the Stars and certain people. We love certain nights and things we look forward to.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Rhea
Which ones are your favorite to get to choreograph for?
Riley Arnold
My favorite always is Disney night.
Fran
Just talking about Disney night.
Riley Arnold
I don't know why, but getting into character and just the spirit of Disney night is just so fun and so exciting to be a part of. But last year was my first finale, and honestly, that was my favorite ever because it's the last hurrah. You're not stressed about the next week, and you obviously get to do a dance that you both you and your partner are really excited about and passionate about. And I feel like that was like, literally one of the best weeks ever was doing my freestyle because I was like, I made it to this point. This is so cool. This is my last dance. Let's go all out and have so much fun.
Rhea
And it was such a great freestyle.
Fran
It really was. Thank you, guys. It was so good.
Rhea
It really cut us. We loved that freestyle so much.
Fran
So good. Obviously, dancing with the stars is the focus right now. TikTok all of it. Social media. Yeah. Do you have any desire to venture and to, you know, tv, film, anything like that?
Riley Arnold
I mean, I'm literally open to whatever. Whatever opportunities open up to itself, I think I will take. Because it's all just so exciting and I am only 20, so there's so much life ahead. But honestly, I'm open to whatever. I love dancing, but I would also love to get into just about anything else.
Fran
Right. Because we see with so many people on Dancing with the Stars, it opens up so many avenues. I mean, we've mentioned Julianne a couple times now, but. But, you know, watching Julianne and Darren, you guys started around a similar age and just like everything they've done within that time period.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, no, it's pretty crazy what opportunities it can give you. And already I've been able to do so many, like, collaborations with companies that I've loved my whole entire life. And just. That is so, so cool to me. I would love to start a business one day, cater to type 1 diabetes. And so I just feel like it's such a cool, like, outlet to start so many amazing things and I just can't wait to see what comes.
Fran
Yeah.
Rhea
And I love that the show has really changed now with this. With this new generation and they are trying to keep up with what everyone is saying and how now obsessed everybody is this younger generation that's bought back into it. Yeah. The one thing that has not really ever changed, I would say, is like, you know, what dances are performed and that, like, kind of classical idea of. Of the show.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Rhea
Is there any type of dance that you would love to see integrated into the show?
Riley Arnold
I would love to see hip hop. Like, love to see hip hop. Obviously jazz is kind of like people will put like a hip hop, like, kind of fling to it.
Rhea
Yeah.
Riley Arnold
They used to have a hip hop style like back in the earlier seasons, but they took it out. But I would love to see hip hop because I love doing hip hop and I would have such a fun time choreographing it.
Rhea
It.
Riley Arnold
And I would just love to see. I think it would be fun.
Fran
That would be so fun.
Riley Arnold
Yeah. And I feel like lately hip hop is like. Yeah, very fun on TikTok. So I feel like it would be perfect.
Rhea
Right? Exactly.
Fran
I would love to watch hip hop.
Rhea
Because that's also like the fun ones that. Because people see so many what's cool now in the dances and then people make them tick tock dances. And you see people doing your choreography on TikTok. Yeah. I feel like that Would really translate too, you know, like, people would really be. Be jumping. Jumping on.
Fran
Absolutely.
Rhea
Yeah.
Fran
Yes. We're gonna wrap up with one last question presented by Armani. We have a gift for you.
Rhea
Armani beauty bag for you.
Fran
Armani beauty present for you to take home. Very exciting. It's so fun. But we want to know, if you had to pick a dream partner in the future, a dream star celebrity to be your partner, who would it be?
Riley Arnold
Okay, I. This is like reaching for the stars. Like, total stars. Hey, Justin Bieber.
Rhea
Yeah.
Noah
Wow.
Fran
You know what, though? You never know.
Riley Arnold
Yeah.
Fran
Like, you. You really just. Yeah, you just never know with Justin Bieber these days.
Rhea
It could be like season 50.
Fran
Yeah.
Riley Arnold
You never know. But I would do it for Justin Bieber.
Fran
That is a great answer.
Rhea
And I just feel like with Justin.
Fran
Bieber these days, you never know. You just never know.
Riley Arnold
Yeah, he could. He could decide one day to just do it and I'd be like, please, please let me meet his partner.
Fran
I'm back. Sign me up.
Rhea
Yeah.
Riley Arnold
Seriously.
Rhea
I love that.
Fran
That's amazing.
Rhea
That's amazing. Riley, you thank. Thank you so much for joining us. We're so excited to watch this season.
Fran
Thank you.
Rhea
So excited about the pros and the pairings and the celebs and everything. It's gonna be great.
Fran
So cannot wait.
Rhea
Thank you so much.
Fran
And we love following along on TikTok and watching the show. So it's the best of both worlds.
Rhea
And of course, we will be tuning in September 16th.
Riley Arnold
Oh, you better.
Fran
Yes, we will.
Rhea
Without a doubt.
