Like, he was so excited to see Andrew. And we were like cracking up talking about that. And then all of a sudden, Sean entered.

Yeah, you know, intern Sean, if you know the backstory that he used to intern at Barstool. So it was just so funny because he was like, how many, how many times? And Sean was like, you know, it's my third time coming back from the beach. It was actually very funny to watch Paradise. Yeah, the setup is very different than previous seasons.

Yeah, very much so.

It's interesting. And then the, the mixture of the Goldens with the Youngings, I'm not quite sure yet.

[Ria]

Yeah, I didn't watch Tuesday's episode yet because, to be honest, like, I know I'm joking about like wrapping up Love island, but I'm so into Love Island UK right now that I'm like up to date on uk. I'm watching on my laptop too, so I can watch my VPN so I can watch up to Date because there's been some crazy moves. Yeah, crazy moves in this villa. Crazy things have been going down. So I've been like, still so wrapped up in that that I haven't even. I watched Monday's episode, Basher in Paradise. I didn't like they were doubling up on Monday. Tuesday, long episode. Monday's like a three hour episode. Tuesday. How long was Tuesdays?

Two hours.

Yeah, like it's. They'. Long. They're, they're, they're really squeezing in this, the whole season into a short amount of time. But were the Goldens and the, and the, and the youngins mingling or.

They were mingling in a respectable manner so far.

It was just like chatting.

Yeah, just like ending, you know, just chatting and stuff like that. But yeah, I'm trying to get, you know, I, I got back into Animal Kingdom last night too, because I'm really just looking for that script of television.

You know, I finished We Were Liars and my God, you know, they really got you at the end.

[Iris]

Oh, no. Is it sad?

[Ria]

Oh, boy, oh boy. The saddest, really.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

Couldn't be sadder. And to be honest, like one of those. It's one of those things where I definitely read the book and I think I, like, now I have a thing with reading as well, that if it's enough time has passed. I don't remember a single thing about the book. Truly. Like, I couldn't even name you. Like, I'd be like, oh, that's the girl that does this. And the guy. And like, I don't remember. And I will not remember the plot. I just. And so I think I, I remember, like I recognized the COVID of the book. So I was like, I definitely read this and now I remember why. I think I blocked it out of my mind from the way it all ends.

[Iris]

Because you hated the ending so much.

[Ria]

Yeah. I mean, it's not even necessarily a hate. It's just like upset. Yeah, it's just upsetting. It's just an upsetting ending.

[Iris]

I know. Well, that's what everyone keeps saying. And I'm like, well then why should I watch it if I'm gonna be.

[Ria]

So upset by the end? It's, it's a good show and it's certainly a twist in the story. Like, you get to a, you get to a part in the last episode where you're like, what could possibly be the twist here? Like, you know, it's just. What could possibly be the twist? And then it hits it when you, you're like, oh my God. Waterworks.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

Yeah.

All right, well, maybe I, maybe I still will because it's. People are talking about it and you Know, I want, I kind of want to know what the twist is. Like, I'm feeling left out. The summer I turn pretty is back.

God, it's out now. I'm dying to watch. Dying to watch week by week. I know, I know. And you know it's gonna last the whole summer. In years past, specifically, I mean, there's only been so many years past. Right. So the third season. But for the second season, I remember maybe because we had in, we interviewed the boys that like, we were on the list for the Amazon for the, for the screeners and we got a lot of them at one time, which was so nice. We haven't gotten.

[Iris]

But isn't it kind of nice to be like in, you know, community? Feel like we get to watch one by one, like with everybody else?

[Ria]

Nope. Really, I selfishly, I want to watch the whole thing.

[Iris]

No, I like, like being, you know.

And it's like, oh, week to week we find out.

That's fun. That is fun. But at the same time, I wish I was like, I wish I could be like, just wait and see what happens, guys.

It was a little bit of they left it open ended where like they definitely could make another one if they wanted to.

I think so, but I'm not positive.

Something they're doing on Bachelor in Paradise that I'm not a fan of is the little sequences of, like, they'll talk about something and then they'll have, like, a dramatic sequence of that person doing that thing, you know?

Yeah. Cause it's like, then you have to have these people act out stuff.

[Iris]

Yes. So in my head, I automatically go, when did they film this? Like, did they pull them? They called their names down to set and they said, all right, we need you to act out this dramatic scene. We're gonna cut this in.

Right, right, right. Yeah, they definitely did.

[Iris]

They do, like, there's a lot of production going on. Right, right, right. So that's one thing that I am not a huge fan of with.

[Pepe]

I do always wonder when they record those, like, cutaways or interviews, even for, like, Love island, where it's like, if there's a recoupling or someone's getting voted off, and they'll cut to, like, interviews of the people and they're like, oh, like, I'm not confident going. It's like, do they already know at that point? Like, I'm always trying to tell, like, by their face. Like, do they look sad if they.

[Ria]

Have to, like, go back?

[Pepe]

Because they have to, like, pretend they don't know, like, what's going to happen, but they already lived it. Like, I don't know when they, like, they can't question. It has to be at the end of the day. Like, unless you're, like, doing it throughout.

Like, they pull them in the middle.

[Pepe]

Of the day, pull them from the fire pit, interview them.

[Iris]

And then I think there's a. I think it's on in the villa. Like, I think they call them and there's not a person. There's not a person in the room. It's like. Yeah, they go into a room with just a camera so I could see them just pulling them throughout the day.

[Pepe]

I would think that there would have to be a producer to be like, what about this there.

[Iris]

I think there's somebody who speaks.

[Ria]

Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's definitely someone who talks.

[Pepe]

When we were there, we saw, like, I saw producers walking around.

[Ria]

No, there's definitely someone who talks to them. But I think, like, what we see is they. It's. If it's like the afternoon and they get a text, it's like, we're coupling tonight or recoupling, whatever, then they all know that. And then the rest of the day, like, they all get pulled for interviews to talk about it, and then the recoupling happens and they can play back to those. But I. I am also. I'm sure there are times when things happen and then they. They go into the room and then they have to, like, relive it, but pretend like they don't know.

[Pepe]

You know, I couldn't do, like, if I was sent home, and then I have to pretend like I don't know if I'm gonna be sent home.

[Ria]

Well, even with the chat, like. Yeah, I guess the recouplings are different. Right. But it's like the chat, like, even with the challenges, you know, they're in that room, they're covered in whatever shit has just been sprayed all over them. That one, you know, they're obviously. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I'm just saying, you know, they're talking about it like, it's just ha. Like they're living in it right then.

Yeah, I think it's like. I think it's a big.

It's just the way they do it.

Across all shows. Same with Bat paradise, they do the same thing.

Surviving barstool. I mean, there were people, when they got sent home, they did not. They did not want to do the thing after, and they had to. Or some walked out and then they had to track them down and get them to do it. But.

Yeah, yeah, no, exactly. So there's definitely times that they're like, hey, we got to bring you back in, and you got act like you don't know that this just happened.

You know, so I'm liking That I'm liking that paradise is like, I've seen and I've seen chatter online of people enjoying the drama of the season already, that there's already been some good stuff.

So I'm between the contestants as well.

[Ria]

Yeah. Right now there's. You see those comments back and forth between Justin and Lexi. Yeah, there's an Hard feelings there for sure. There is definitely, Definitely some hard feelings.

[Iris]

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. But like you said, excited to see some of our friends back. That's fun. Andrew and those. And those guys, you know, hope this time is a charm for Andrew. I'm also now this might be Andrew's third time as well.

I could redo it or I could just come to terms with the fact that I was in seussical in fifth grade, and then I had to drop out because I got lice from the wigs. Oh. Anyway. Yeah.

You know, it's. You know, kids have production. Kids have lice. Lice likes clean hair.

[Ria]

I've talked about it before.

Many of times that I had licensed. Okay.

And unfortunately was a big deal. Lice is just par for the course when it comes to, you know, coming of age. Everybody's got a lice.

I feel like when you were a kid, like, if someone got lice, you're like, I need to stay away from them forever.

[Ria]

Oh, absolutely.

[Iris]

Of course. Oh, of course. Absolutely. I mean, I, you know, I. I felt it. I. I felt it when I had lice. And I know who the culprit was who started the lice, but it is what it is. They. It's not their fault either.

Well, how did you. How did. Do you think it was transferred?

[Iris]

The wigs.

[Pepe]

Oh, the wigs. Wigs.

The wig sharing during school. Had to drop out of the play opening night. I couldn't perform.

[Ria]

Did you have a crucial role?

[Iris]

No, I dropped quick. Fourth grade was King Louie, as we all know. And then fifth grade. They real.

[Ria]

Because fifth grade was for the older kids, right?

[Iris]

Yes. It was kindergarten through fourth, so I was at the top. And then it went fifth to eighth, and I was at the bottom. Knocked me back down. And obviously, we all know I didn't have the talent to be a main role, and so I was just, you know, like a little who or something. And we had to wear wigs and got lice. Anyways. Had to drop.

[Ria]

You must not have been the only.

[Iris]

One who got lice. No, no, there were multiple.

[Ria]

The musical even go on as planned, like. Or did they lose all the who's?

[Iris]

It did. But I think people didn't realize they had lice until a couple of days late. Like, you know, like, I was hit.

[Ria]

You were patient zero.

[Iris]

Yeah, I was hit. There was somebody before me who kept it. You know, they kept a little quiet until I came out and said lice. And then they popped out and they were like, I just had lice. And I was like, are you fucking.

You did this to me.

Do you have to, like, burn everything in your house?

[Iris]

Oh, my God. Yes. Like, the way. Oh, my God. The way that my mom tore that house upside down. And then I had to sleep on my leather couch with no blanket or nothing, with olive oil in my hair and a mask, and my mom wouldn't even let me use a blanket. Like, I was sleeping. Like, you sleep at a friend's house and they go to bed and they leave you with nothing. You're shivering. You take, like, the car bit and you're like. Like, that's how I was on the couch. Like, shivering.

Yeah. No, literally. And like, oh, my God, it's disgusting. But then I chopped my hair to my shoulders after. It was, like, right up to here. And then I became a child model right. Like, literally right after that. So things were on the up. Thanks to lice. Thanks to lice.

Tour life is just not for her. That's really what it comes down to first for a few different reasons. So it's like, oh, what if it's not good for you or your mental health? And you know, she talked about how obviously being on tour and like keeping her sobriety is really hard and all these things. So it's like, okay, so fair. She said it's hard to maintain Sobriety when you're on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life. But she did say she has the physical ability to tour, which was always the question. People were always like, oh, well, with her. You know, she's had with her vocal. Not, like, issues, but, like. I don't know what the right term would be. Vocal cord things. Conditioning. Yeah, that. It's like, oh, that could maybe not be good for touring. But she says she has the ability and the opportunity. She just doesn't have the desire, which is so fair. And of course, everyone in the comments is like, well, what about, like, a residency or something where you don't have to travel? A residency would be amazing for her. I think that's. I actually think she'll. I think that's something she'll consider.

The suitcases contained music from Beyonce that has yet to be released along with show plans. Unreleased music from Beyonce was stolen from a choreographer's car in Atlanta. The owner of the suitcases claimed to be a choreographer for Beyonce. Yeah. Christopher Grant deandre Blue. Police identified the theft victims as choreographer Christopher Grant DeAndre Blue dance for Beyonce. The two told police they parked the Wagoneer, which was a rental car, at a local food hall. I know, right? Nick Frost has watched his first day in the Big boots of Hagrid on the set. The new HBO original Harry Potter series. So they just started production, which is really exciting. And they're filming the first and second seasons together, which I think is smart because you, they. You want the kids to stay looking, like, young.

Yeah. You know, that is great idea. Yeah, I didn't even think of that. You're right, because at that age, you age quick.

[Ria]

Yeah, exactly. You're growing up fast for sure.

[Iris]

Like, throw them into the spotlight. Add everything into it.

The. The jump from like 11 to 13 can be a jarring.

[Iris]

It's a big jump. Prime. Prime year priority puberty years, big time.

[Ria]

And like guys. I mean, girls. And girls. You know, your face changes and all those things too, and you grow up. But sometimes I feel like with guys, it's like puberty hits them and they're an entirely different human being.

[Iris]

That is true with guys. But also think about girls as bodies change so much. Like, everybody's changing.

Yeah.

You know, it's probably so like they're changing in the spotlight, you know, it's a lot.

[Ria]

So that's so true. So true. But I think that was a smart move doing the first and second seasons together. So it'd be like sorcerer's stone, chamber of secrets all together into one.

We're excited to talk to you guys. I know it's been a whirlwind. Can you kind of describe what the last few days have. Have been like outside the villa? Back to the real world, back to la.

[Matt]

Super overwhelming, but filled with love. And it's just. It's been really good to be home.

[Iris]

It's.

[Matt]

I really missed home and my family and my friends and everything, so it's really nice to be back.

[Ria]

I was gonna say, it must be nice for you guys that, like, while all the islanders are all kind of in LA and. And doing things and hanging out, LA is also home for you guys. So it's like, you really do get to go home. It's not just like, oh, we're all in la. How has the reaction been, like, from your families?

[F]

Kind of the same as ours. Overwhelmed. Everybody. I think they're a little less overwhelmed because they saw everything. Like, every time I tell them that I'm just in shock of what's happening, they're like, yeah, we. We went through that phase, like, three weeks ago. We. We kind of saw everything happening. And. But. But I think they're just, like, us, overwhelmed, but excited that we're back home and excited to see us and be with us again.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Iris]

Yeah. That's very exciting that you guys are home now and you guys are, I assume, are staying where you live and not with the other islanders.

[Matt]

Yeah, yeah, we're staying at our homes and they're staying all together.

[Iris]

Yeah. Pepe, we just saw that you went on the toast and you talked a little bit about your relationship already, and, you know, not to go right off the bat, but you were asked if you guys are exclusive and, you know, what's going on. You said that's kind of how you date. What would you say, where you guys stand right now?

[F]

I don't think anything's changed with that answer. Right.

[Iris]

Just more because Iris is now sitting with you. So. To hear from Iris as well.

[Matt]

Yeah, I think that we're just, you know, focused on each other and trying to explore each other on the outside and see how our lives are and try to spend a lot of time together, and it's just exciting to be in the real world and not cooped up in a house together and, like, you could go do, like, normal things together. Yeah. Yeah, kind of.

[Ria]

Yeah, right. It's like you still have all the I. All the eyeballs on you, which we saw in Iris. You just experienced firsthand. You've been tmz. Well.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

Welcome. Welcome to the world.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Matt]

That was crazy.

[Iris]

Yeah. How.

[Ria]

How. What's your kind of response to. To that video and everybody seeing you kind of, you know, reunite with tj?

[Matt]

I just, you know, the whole time I was in the villa, I was just thinking, like, I need to have some closure with him and, like, about everything, because it's. There's a lot of, like, time that goes between. Like, you know, I didn't want him to think, like, I moved on really quickly, so I had to, like, explain that to him. And, like, he. He knew because he knows how everything works and everything, but I just wanted to give him the closure that we both needed.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

To.

[Iris]

So, to talk about both of your journeys, you know, you mentioned with tj, we did see TJ get sent home, and we saw you very, very upset about TJ getting sent home. And then, you know, from the looks of it, it kind of looks like things moved fast, like you said. Can you kind of take us through that? How it went from, you know, being really upset about TJ to then kind of exploring with Pepe?

[Matt]

Yeah. So I, you know, was obviously very upset that TJ went home. And how everything happened, it was, like, very shocking. And in the moment, I was, you know, I was like, wow. The first. The first connection I really got to experience didn't really last that long, but the amount of time that I did get to experience, it was amazing. And so that just really, like, hurt. Hurt me that that's how it ended up, you know, ending. And then there was, like, time that went on, and, like, Pepe and I had conversations, and we were like. We knew each other. We were like, best friends in the villa. And then we had, like, deeper conversations that we didn't really necessarily have, like, while we were. Because Pepe was exploring other people as well. And then when we had those conversations, we were like, oh, we kind of like each other. And then it just, like, grew from there, like, really quickly.

[Iris]

Yeah. And we saw that unfold. And obviously we're going to talk about your guys connection together. Was there any part of you that thought about leaving with tj?

[Ria]

Yeah.

[Matt]

So right when everything was happening, I'm like, I'm leaving. I'm leaving there. There's nothing. Like, I feel like there's not gonna be anything there for me. Like, no one's gonna walk in at this point, like, you know, I don't know what to do. I feel like I need to leave. And then some of the girls and, you know, some of the team was like, you should stay, like, there might be something there for you. And lo and behold.

[Ria]

Yeah, I think, you know, watching that vote was really emotional, and the audience had a big reaction to it and, you know, kind of looking into or thinking into where everybody stood and kind of what that meant.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Ria]

Were you at all angry with some of the other girls in their decisions? Because I know watching, I was like, oh, my God. I would have thought some of these girls would have stood behind TJ in support of Iris, and they didn't. And from what we saw, it looked like, you know, you were upset TJ left, but you weren't necessarily upset with the other girls. But was. Were there any conversations that you had with those girls that we just didn't see?

[Matt]

Yeah, so I was upset. I was like, why are none of my friends standing behind me and supporting my connection? Like, they know how strongly I felt about him, and they. I was really in shock. I really thought that they were going to be right behind me. And I did have conversations with them, and they, you know, it's a. It's a really hard decision to make when you're voting for your friends and, you know, you want to support everybody. You don't want someone to have no one standing behind them. And I think that their thought process was, like, they were thinking for themselves and, like, what they wanted to do. And, like, obviously, that's very upsetting, but it is a really big decision that you have to make. And, like, I was upset. I did express how I felt, but I, I. It just. I didn't want to stay mad at them for that because, you know, what's the point in that? There's no good in that.

[Iris]

It's.

[Matt]

Whatever is done is done. And I expressed myself and said my piece and just let it go.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Matt]

And you know how I felt.

[Iris]

Right.

[Matt]

Apologized.

[Iris]

And then TJ was sent home. And you, you know, the tmz, we saw that you guys had, I'm sure, just a discussion where you were like, this is, you know, it was nice in the villa, but this isn't going to go any further.

[Ria]

Are we leaving it as friends with him? Like, is that.

[Matt]

Yeah, I think we're leaving it as friends with him.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

And then I'm sure he probably put that together.

[Iris]

Yeah, I think he put two and two together. Pepe. And then before Iris, we saw your connection with Hannah and then a little bit with Grayson. Can you take us through that journey a little bit? You know, Hannah was sent home from the villa. As viewers, we were all, like, in shock. We were all very upset that Hannah was sent home. And you were upset as well. And then you connected with Grayson a little bit in casa, but then decided to close that off because I think you were maybe still feeling things for Hannah. So can you take us through that journey of what you were feeling?

[F]

Yeah, it's kind of. I think this season you didn't really have an option as to who you wanted to stay. Right. It was a lot of America and a lot of also the islanders afterwards. It was a lot of, like, top three, bottom threes and all that, and then the Islanders choosing who stays. So everybody, I think, was upset when somebody left. And then no matter what, you're always upset when people leave. But moving on, like, you know, like everything, some days you kind of have more time to move on. And for me, it was like Hannah left literally two hours later, we start casa. So it was like, yeah, it was very quick. So it was. It was a tough one. And then I coupled up with Grayson and Carson. She's amazing. She's super sweet girl. And I said it to everybody in the. In the villain. You know, it took me a couple days. So you can't just move on in a day or two, you know, although a day or two in Villa time, it feels a lot longer.

[Matt]

Like a week.

[Ria]

Yeah, yeah.

[F]

You know, still, you needed some time. So after a couple of days, I. I gave Grace in my all, and I try to just explore, and it honestly wasn't anything about Hannah. The reason I just. I just didn't feel a spark. I didn't feel that true connection. I told myself, I don't want to be in the Villa in this, like, high stress yet fun environment. If I don't have someone that I'm. I'm truly feeling like you. What you're there for is to find a connection, not just with the boys, but with the girl. A girl as well. Right. And I wanted her to make sure that she could have that experience that I had. The highs, the lows, the fun times, the. The awful times. And I didn't want to take that away from her. So I made that decision of, you know what, you know, it was a hard conversation to have with somebody because you're dealing with somebody's emotions. You're dealing with them. But, you know, I want to have the decision and kind of tell her, look, this isn't because of Hannah. This isn't because of anything. It's just. I rather. I'm not feeling it. I. I didn't feel that spark. You're on. All the people in there were amazing, you know, But I told her I want her to be able to explore, and she did tell me that it is hard to explore with me being in the vicinity.

[Ria]

Right.

[F]

So I decided, you know what? Probably easier if, you know, probably better for her and better for me, because I don't want to just drag things along like, it didn't make any sense.

[Iris]

Yeah, right. And then you two came in together as Bombshells, and we always question when watching Love island, we're like, you know, the Bombshells are never talking with each other. It's kind of like this unspoken thing. And then, you know, you got. You guys explored that connection through your friendship after. Was it something you had been thinking in the back of your head at all, or were you like, oh, wait, I put this to the side, because we were. We were Bombshells together.

[F]

So I'll say. It definitely is. I was. I would say it's an unspoken rule for sure, where bomb shows. Do not talk to bomb shows. And you explore the villa. That's what you're a bombshell to do. You're. You're in there to shake things up, to break things apart, to, you know.

[Matt]

Get to know everybody.

[F]

Get to know everybody in there.

[Ria]

Yeah.

[Matt]

I was gonna say, like, I think the Bombshells perspective is, like, you want to talk to everybody. Like, we both kind of have the same perspective on, like, going into the villa. We want to get to know everybody. We want to talk to everybody. And then eventually, I was thinking in my head, then we can get to know each other. It just. It just took a while.

[F]

I took a path, and she took another path, and I was on another path. And then, you know. But I've said it before, and I'll say it every time. The second I saw her walking in, I was like, she's beautiful. And then I had the most conversations with her as well. When you walk in, you. You know, you debrief, right? You debrief with your bombshell. So it was me, her, and Jalen continuously debriefing everything. And you get to know them through those debriefs. You get to know how they think, how they speak.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[F]

And I always. I always said it that she was an amazing girl from all that. But again, bomb shows don't explore bomb shows. You explore the village. So, yeah, once we Went our separate ways. It was just. We never knew if it was. We were going to get back to it.

[Ria]

Right. Exactly. Now, that. That is very true. It has always seemed like a. An unspoken role for sure. I think, you know, when you're watching, everything is moving so quickly as well. So the audience is used to seeing you in different couples, and then all of a sudden, it seemed, you know, romantic between you guys and. And you get feedback like, whoa, that. That seemed like a crazy switch up. Now all of a sudden, they're. They're romantic. Where did that come from? What were the conversations like between you two that we didn't really see where you were able to get to that romance part.

[Matt]

I feel like it was after the challenge, when we kissed, that kind of, like, made us more comfortable with like. Or actually, no, I think it was like, when we were talking and I laid on his lap.

[F]

Yeah.

[Matt]

And because I'm a very touchy person, and I'm like, if I like you, like, I'm gonna, like, be close to you. So I think. And I always. I. I told Pepe this. I was like, I always threw, like, little crumbs at him. Like, like the heart rate challenge. Like, you know, I was like, you're. You know, I always thought he was really cute as well, so I didn't.

[F]

Pick up on any of those.

[Matt]

Yeah. But he would do stuff for me, too. I feel like he would always, like, check in on me, ask if I was okay. Like, do you need. Do you want anything to eat? You know, if no one made me breakfast, Pepe, maybe breakfast. And, like, we would, like, comfort each other. So I think those were, like, little signs of, like, ah, you know.

[Iris]

We'Re gonna take it back to, you know, the beginning a little bit. Which feels so, you know, far away from now. When America voted for you to be with Jeremiah and you were. Yeah, maybe exploring with Ace at that point.

[Ria]

Feels like a different show.

[Iris]

It feels like a lifetime ago. What was the reaction immediately? Because that was the first time we got a little insight to what America had been up to. Because it was kind of like, what the hell just happened?

[Matt]

I was like, what. Why did this ha. Why did this happen to me? And what. What does this mean? Like, do they let. Want to see us together? Am I being sacrificed? Am I being like, are they trying to just split them up? Like, I don't understand what's going on because, you know, I don't know what's going on on the outside. All I'm seeing is just Huda and Jeremiah, like, not get along. So I'm like. I only could imagine what those conversations were like on camera. So for me, I felt like I was trying to figure out what this meant, and that's why I was, like. At first, I was, like, exploring with him, and I was like, okay, like, our conversations are good, but there's not really, like, a spark there. And then he kind of just turned into, like, my bestie, and I was like, oh, he's like a sweet guy. And it was just a very, very shocking. Like, my first thought in my head was, what the hell does this mean? Why is this happening? Why would they do this?

[Iris]

Yeah. Did you feel like you were getting the short end of the stick at times during the season? Because that happened, and then, you know, TJ gets sent home, and it's kind of like you're just trying to find a connection, but the way the voting is going.

[Ria]

Yeah.

[Matt]

And I was like, am I ever gonna pick somebody? Or is this, like. Like, even in casa, I wasn't. I didn't pick the guy the whole time. I didn't get to pick until the name thing. And then even then, actually, the whole time, the. The first time I actually got to pick was Pepe. Really, Like, I would. The words that came out of my mouth, I would like to couple up with this boy. But before that, I never said that once. I never was able to pick anybody, and everyone just, like, picked me or America picked me to be with someone, or I was alone most of the time. Like, I was sleeping alone, and I was like, geez. I. I thought my Love island experience was going to be so different. I thought I was going to cuddle and, like, have fun and be coupled up in challenges. I didn't think I was going to be, like, so alone.

[Ria]

Right.

[Iris]

Right.

[Ria]

Well, they really did. It felt like inside the villa, you know, it was pushed so hard of everyone. Stay open, explore your connections. If you start to find a connection, it was like, well, now you have your connection and we're voting you home. Like, and you're. And you're leaving. You're not saying, yeah, yeah, no, go ahead, go ahead.

[Matt]

I think that that's because everyone in the villa kind of wasn't thinking about it as, like, it's a game. We were thinking about it as, like, this is this really special experience, and we want to find the best connection. So, like, everyone needs to, like, that's what I feel like was our thought process. Right. Like, we were really thinking of, like, this isn't like, a experiment almost. We gotta. You Know, we're all for a reason. Like, we gotta explore each other. We can't just like, play it safe.

[F]

Yeah. I think it felt like when you kind of close things off with somebody very quickly, that you were just playing it safe. And I think we all went in with the mindset of that Explore, explore, explore mindset. And the second that somebody felt like, oh, you're done exploring and we still have four weeks left in the season, like, you're, you're clearly doing something wrong.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[F]

So I think that's where all this drama of a bunch of people being dumped from the villa that had strong connections. But it is true. I think in a sense, you know, it's when you're alone and not alone, but when you're in a situation like the being in the villa and you feel comfortable with one person, you're kind of afraid to. Yeah. To continue because you're like, I really feel comfortable with him. And I'm finally happy that I can have these, these nighttime and morning time conversations. And when there's a little bit of downtime, I can hang out with my person. I can hold my person. So it is a little like, do I want to explore? So I think we played it right and I think we did it right with, you know, the way we chose.

[Ria]

Yeah, that's was I was gonna ask, do you feel like you really, like exhausted all your options and stayed open? Like, do you feel like you got the most out of your Love island experience?

[Iris]

Oh, yeah.

[Matt]

Yeah, I definitely did. I talked to every single person. I had like two hour conversations with each person and I was really like, looking for that spark with conversations. Like, if I didn't feel it, I was like, all right, just send me home at this point because if I don't feel something, like, I, I really can't fake it, Like I, I truly can't. And I, at some point, at one point, I think during casa, I was like, if TJ doesn't pick me, I'm ready to go home. Like, you know, like, there's just, it's. This is just like a crazy experience.

[F]

But yeah, we definitely did it. I mean, from. Again, the unspoken rule of not exploring palm shows and then we walk out together. So, yeah, I think we definitely went all the way around the Taiwan we could possibly explore.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Iris]

And then with the finale, with the voting, how it played out, we saw you guys came in fourth. What was your guys reaction during that finale and how the voting played out?

[F]

Honestly, I was just happy. I think both of us went in and we didn't really care about. I mean, you've heard it already today. We didn't really care about how long we stayed or we just wanted to make sure we were able to enjoy our time there. So finale came, and I remember telling everybody, like, hey, no matter what, let's just enjoy whoever wins because we're all deserving of it. We're all here. We all are having a good time. We all had a great time, even with the ups and downs. So it was one of those things that it was like, we're just happy. We were happy to be there no matter what. We were happy to be with the other six contestants that were there and the other that ended up becoming family, you know?

[Iris]

Yeah, we saw you dive right into that pool.

[F]

You know what? I was. It was a long day to wake up a little bit.

[Ria]

I have to ask you, because it has kind of become a. A TikTok trend. Is your normal type blondes?

[F]

I don't have a type. I think attractive is attractive. But I would say I went in with. I closed my mind off of, like, this is my type. And I kind of just said, let me explore people for who they are. Just putting everything aside. And I kind of. I ended up realizing I went with the sweetest girls every time.

[Ria]

That is. They were. That is so true.

[Iris]

Yeah.

[Ria]

But I. I was wondering if you had seen any of those videos of, you know, girls going to the salon, and they're like, I'm getting that Pepe.

[Iris]

Yeah, I'm going Pepe blonde for the summer.

[F]

You know what it. It was. They're all hilarious. But the one that was funniest is when I posted a video of my dog and they go, of course he gives the flawed dog a pup. I was like, it's my dog.

[Iris]

I saw that. They said, even the dog's blonde.

[F]

It's my dog. They don't miss me. My dog miss me.

[Iris]

It must be weird seeing everything now that you guys are out. Have you watched any of the episodes at all? And now Iris talking about the vote with Jeremiah. Are you kind of caught up as to why America voted that way?

[Matt]

From what I'm understanding, they voted. I'm called the sacrificial lamb, apparently. Which, yeah, I was. I thought it was funny that, you know. But also, why. Why you guys, Right.

[Iris]

I think after that happened, people were like, guys, you know, we just, like, fucked up, you know, Iris's journey right at the beginning. Yeah.

[Ria]

Yeah. Well, you guys ended up finding each other and. And that's. That's what's most important? We'd love to wrap up. I want to ask you guys what your plans are in the next few weeks is, you know, as you explore this relationship outside of the villa and you're both in la. So what do you guys have planned between the two of you?

[F]

I think just to hang out, do things like you normally, like a regular couple would. You know, we got to spend a lot of time, and we have this crazy experience that we can both reflect on that kind of helps us bond a little bit tighter, obviously. But, yeah, just explore. Do things like a normal couple would. You know, go on little dates, try to. Try to do all the little things and pretend like nothing's really. No eyes are around us and just enjoy it, you know, enjoy each other's company, enjoy the time together and just be normal. Yeah. And just see what happens.

[Matt]

Yeah.

[Iris]

In and out in the beach. You guys are gonna have to do that.

[F]

Oh, yeah, we have to do that. But I'm gonna. I'm not gonna lie to you. It seems like it's gonna be a little bit harder than expected. I didn't know.

[Ria]

Yeah. You might have to drive out of. You might have to drive to a different beach. Yeah.

[Iris]

Yeah, yeah. Well, we hope you. We hope that you guys can make that happen. And thank you guys for taking the time to talk to us.
