Ria
What's up, everyone?
Fran
It's chicks in the office with Ria and Fran giving you that Friday energy on a Wednesday. Happy Wednesday, everybody. We are back in studio. How are we feeling today?
Ria
Good. Oh my God. I just. It's like a little indigestion right there. Nice. Started to speak. Good.
Fran
Very good.
Ria
Yes. Back at home it was good to. I felt like we were gone longer than we were. Really wasn't that long, but it felt like it was longer. But no. Happy to Be back. This is our last week at home before we head to Singapore on Sunday night. So we're locked in, loaded, ready to go. I'm excited. It feels it's funky. Cause like we are not recording the podcast. So it really is kind of like a vacation. But at the same time, you know, we're doing other stuff, but we're with the three of us, so that makes it feel less like a vacation, you know.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
But I'm very excited.
Fran
It's gonna be amazing. The week is going to fly by and then we're going to be in Singapore. It's going to be so much fun. This morning we actually got invited to the Taylor Swift Spotify Pop up for the Life of a Showgirl.
Ria
The Pop up.
Fran
The Pop up for the Life of a Showgirl that comes out on Friday. Showgirl show biz. And it was very cool. It was really cute to see some cute little sets, some photo ops. I wasn't sure if things. There were actually things that were like a part of the era store, you know, or. Yeah, like props.
Ria
Replicas.
Fran
Yeah, replicas.
Ria
Replicas. Yeah. Maybe.
Fran
How much would they trust having that out in the open?
Ria
Right, right. That's also very true. And you could just also see it was decorated in really cool way. Different rooms with potential Easter eggs.
Fran
Yes.
Ria
Seemed like maybe there were some hints at some lyrics.
Fran
I will say one of the vanities. There was a lot of Happy Valentine's Day cards.
Ria
There was a lot of Valentine's Day things on there. Which maybe means something. I don't know.
Fran
Right. Happy Valent Valentine's Day. Being oftentimes being me is not so glamorous. Was in a lot of places.
Ria
Keep it 100 was written on the.
Fran
On the mirror. Yes, that was on there.
Ria
Yep.
Fran
And then what was it? The Ophelia book.
Ria
Yeah, the Search.
Fran
The Search for Ophelia was a book.
Ria
That was like up top on one little thing. So it was really cool. And obviously there was a million people lined up to see it and it's going for the next few days, so if you are in New York, you can go check it out. And cute little photo ops moments to take pictures and it was. It was cool. You know, Taylor. Taylor's music's playing and the whole. It was actually funny though, because when we got in, we got in right when it started today. So it started on Tuesday and you know, we're some of the first people to go through it. And the whole time Taylor Swift was playing and then all of a sudden Shawn Mendes started playing And I looked at you guys, and I was like, how'd Shawn Mendes sneak into this? And I know I can treat you better. And then they turned it off and went back to Taylor.
Fran
Yes. I think that it got slipped in there somehow. The song shut out the playlist, switched the song shut off midway. So they were like, oh, no, not this one. And then they went back to Taylor. But it was very cool. It was beautiful. Like, you know, some of the sets that they had set up, the costumes, it was really, really cool to see and very exciting. The album comes out on Friday. I can't wait for you.
Ria
How? I'm like, I'm so excited that we're getting the album and then traveling. It's like, I can, Right?
Fran
But we won't be able to do a full review until we get back.
Ria
Yeah, that. That is true.
Fran
But that's okay. We can. We'll post on our socials and post on Chicks in the Office how we feel. Maybe we'll do, like, a ranking of our songs and we'll post it on. On Chicks in the Office so people know how we feel about it, because we'll be recording on Thursday before the album comes out.
Ria
Yeah. And I. I also really do like to sit with an album.
Fran
Yes.
Ria
For a while. A little bit of time before fully being able to discuss it. Like, I'm not someone that can listen to an album one time and be like, this one's my favorite.
Fran
You know?
Ria
Of course you have initial thoughts, but I need a few days to really digest everything. So I'm excited for that, especially listening on the plane.
Fran
You got 19 hours to really just soak it in.
Ria
Exactly. It's gonna be so great. I was texting Noah over the weekend because Olivia Dean's album came out last Friday, and it's so good. It is so good. And I. I was listening to it. I was like, you know what? I'm gonna send this to Noah because I think he really liked this album. And he texted me and was like, I really like the Olivia Dean.
Fran
Oh, yeah. I saw him adding it to his story. I was like, wow, he really likes it.
Noah
It's been, like, the only thing I've been listening to for the past three, four days.
Ria
She's got an incredible voice, and the songs are. I mean, it's just. They're great songs.
Noah
I, like, only knew a couple of her songs that they would just come up randomly on Spotify.
Ria
Yeah. Yeah.
Noah
But now that I listen to the.
Ria
Man I need is on TikTok all the time now, too.
Noah
But now her old stuff is. I'm going through that as well. Very good, Very good.
Fran
Loves it.
Ria
Yeah. G and I went to go see her in Brooklyn. That was like a few months ago and it was an awesome show. She has, she's got a. She's just really talented. She's a really cool voice.
Noah
I saw Tyler, the creator posted it to his story before I started listening and that was like the final. Because I saw a lot of people being like, this is so good. It's so good. And then he posted it and I was like, I trust his opinion. He was right.
Ria
Tyler pushed it over the edge for you.
Noah
Yeah.
Ria
I said she's got, she's just got one of those voices. And I posted this on my story because I was listening to it a ton too. That like when they start to make the James Bond movies again, she needs to do the Bond song. Like she has that. And there's one song on the album that like kind of has that feel like the production of it kind of has that feeling that I'm like, oh, she would fucking crush a Bond song. Like very like a kind of like an adele esque type 1. Something in between like the Adele and Billie Eilish, you know. Gosh. But it's, it's great. It's a high. Really, really good album. If you haven't listened. I highly recommend, but no.
Fran
Great.
Ria
Can't, can't wait for Taylor.
Fran
Yes. That's gonna be super exciting.
Ria

Fran
I started watching the inside reality show on Netflix that I saw was being talked about a lot online because it has, like, influencers and reality. I mean, I can. Sue's on there. Brie from selling Sunset's on there. And I was hooked. I'm not gonna lie. I watched five episodes late last night. I couldn't stop.
Noah
I wanted.
Fran
I think there's only nine episodes, maybe 10. I was like, I think I might finish this tonight. But it got real late and I was like, I gotta hit the hay. But I thought it was really good. I really liked the concept. I think the hosting could use some work.
Ria
Who hosts?
Fran
And the hosts are two creators that I've never heard of. I think it's Ray and Phantom, which I've never seen them before, but clearly, like, people like them and they're popular, but I've never seen them.
Ria
They're hosting the show.
Fran
They're hosting the show.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
It's. Sometimes I think, like, the challenges that they do could use, like a little. Could use a little work, but it's still interesting and fun and maybe it.
Ria
Just has, like, some kinks since it's like a brand.
Fran
Right. Well, I think that was a YouTube series that then became.
Ria
That makes sense.
Fran
A reality show.
Ria
I gotcha.
Fran
But I was locked in. The premise is they're all in this, you know, facility, apartment type place, you know, metal gray walls, that type of shit. And they all sleep in the same room, like small bunk beds. And there's a. The money price starts off with a million dollars, and then it goes down depending on what they buy from the store. So, like, they just get like, rice and bean meals and cold showers and, you know, bare minimum. And then if they want to upgrade, they got to pay for it. If they want coffee, if they want soda, like, if they want drinks, they can have hard seltzers, they can have wine.
Ria
Like, that takes it out of, like, the.
Fran
It takes it out of the big pot. Watching this show, I'm like, first of all, Ekinsu is so funny. She has lost money in the challenges but refuses to spend money in the store. So, like, she's taking her cold shower. She's not doing no upgrades. She's only drinking water. Like, she is not taking from the store, which is the way to play it, in my opinion. Like, I think you should only be using the store when really necessary. Like, if you are dying for, you know, the second day, they're all having coffees, they're all having wine, they're all having chips, nonstop cookies. Like, they're upgrading every shower. Like, it's been one day. You've been in this place for one day.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
By maybe the fourth day, you want a coffee, you want a hot shower, and you want a meal upgrade. I totally get it. But within the first day, they're spending all the money in the prize pot.
Ria
They're used to luxury, but I'm just like.
Fran
I'm watching. I'm like, what is going on? Like, you really.
Ria
What kind of need this tequila shot?
Fran
Thousands. Like, a coffee's $2,000. Yeah, okay, okay. You know, it's $2,000. It really adds up because they're always in there ordering shit. Why do you need the tequila shots? Why do you need the hard seltzer? Why do you need the wine right now?
Ria
Do they know when the other contestants go into the shop and spend money?
Fran
Like, sometimes if you're with the other people, but sometimes people do it secretly, and then they don't. When they see the prize money go down, they don't know who bought what.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
So they're, like, fighting with each other. Like, have you been secretly, like, Sketch is on there, and he was just buying Pringles and wine, like, non stop. And everyone's like, he's secretly buying so many Pringles. Ekin is so funny. She's like, who's. Who's spending the money when someone says they bought something, she's like, you bought that? It's. It's so. Her reactions are so funny to people buying things. It's. That's kind of what keeping me hooked is like. I cannot understand why they're buying M and M chocolate chip cookies at night.
Ria
Right, right, right, right.
Fran
Push yourself to the limit so you can keep. You are taking.
Ria
I don't see why you go on the show.
Fran
You're taking money out of your own. It's a million dollars if you don't touch it. And you only lose money from challenges. It's still a fuck ton of money you're gonna win.
Ria
So do people get, like, sent home or.
Fran
Yes, they vote people out. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Yeah, there's a lot of that voting people out. They can go home and challenge.
Ria
One person, win.
Fran
One person wins the prize money. So you're like, you Have a possibility of winning the prize money. Why are you spending all your money? All the snacks and. And drinks?
Ria
Right. I would think that they would go in and everyone immediately, immediately would be so hard on each other. And, like, no one would spend money on anything. And then, like, the first person to buy a glass of wine would be like a send home the next day, you know?
Fran
The dumbest one that I saw so far was this guy, Jay Cinco. He got pulled into a room for a temptation. Okay, the temptation cost $30,000. It was. It was pizza, burgers, wings, whatever. You are still getting food. Granted, it's not good food, right? But you're still getting food. You can do a meal upgrade for, like, I don't know, 2003 or whatever. You've only been in there for maybe two days now.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
You're telling me you're. You're caving that quickly? 30, he took the temptation. So lame. $30,000 gone.
Ria
All.
Fran
Cause he had a. He had some pizza.
Ria
What did he pick?
Fran
He ate it all. Like, you can eat it all. And then the next challenge, the winner, pizza party. So it's like if you just wait, you know, some shit they're spending money on. I can't comprehend it. I just can't comprehend why they are.
Ria
So how much money do you're five episodes in? How much money do you think they've lost out from them?
Fran
They're down to 600 something thousand.
Ria
Shit. It's almost half the amount.
Fran
Yeah. One of the girls, Finita, she was the first one voted out by Sketch because, like, they brought sketch into a room, and it was like he just had to pick someone to eliminate. Like, sometimes they just put it on one person. And he voted her out, and then she got sent home. But then they met her at the elevator and they were like, you could buy your way back in for $50,000 out of the prize pot. You don't have to tell anybody that you took money out of the pot. So that was a. That was $50,000 to buy yourself back in. Obviously, anybody would do that and wouldn't.
Noah
But, like, wouldn't people be like, how did you get back here?
Fran
Well, she lied. She was like, I left. And they were like, hey. The host met me and said, hey, we're the host of the show. We can do whatever you want. Go back in. And everyone bought it. And then she told a couple people that she bought herself back in. And then they did. They. They could buy one of the options, the menu changes all the time of what they could Buy. They bought to expose an insider, and it was exposing, like, what people bought. And then they exposed her for taking $50,000 out of the sense. So it's. I actually find it to be very interesting. I think it's a great concept. I think there's some things that.
Ria
Certainly an interesting social experiment.
Fran
It is. I think that there's some things that could be worked out, but I think it's entertaining. You know who's, like, really likable, kind of Mark from the Montana Boys.
Noah
I've seen clips of him on it.
Fran
He, weirdly enough, is just, like, kind of quiet.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
And all the girls just think he's really hot.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
So they. Anytime he's. He. He really keeps to himself mostly, like, you don't really hear him talk much, and he's not really spending money. And then one, he got called in to do a mission, and the mission was he had to spend $20,000 without getting caught within a certain time frame, but he couldn't complete it. And he, like, came clean to everybody, and everyone was like, it's okay, Mark.
Ria
It's okay.
Fran
And then all the girls are like. They were like, he's. We. He's too pretty. Like, we have to keep him around. Like, they're like, we don't want to send him around.
Noah
Sidney Thomas on the show said, yeah.
Fran
She was the ring girl at one of the Paul brothers place. I. I like her, too, on the show. Like, she's comes across. Most people on the show come across.
Noah
That guy Zach, who's, like, famous. That podcast.
Fran
Yeah. First I was on him, but I was like, he's not too bad either. Like, they. I thought I was gonna be like, these people. Like, I can't stand watching them.
Ria
It's just called the inside.
Fran
Yeah. Inside USA, I think, because I think it was a British YouTube thing inside.
Noah
Wait, so how often do the episodes are all out at once?
Fran
They're all out now, I think. Yeah.
Noah
It's not like a live. You know, like, it's.
Fran
No, it's not like Big Brother. Like, it was filmed well, because I think Mark is dating Summer Ray, so this had to have been filmed a.
Ria
While ago because Mark is dating Summer Ray.
Fran
Yeah. Talk about a Mac.
Ria
You know what? That just goes to show you that you do what you. Fate just brings these people together, you know?
Noah
You know what's crazy about that is.
Ria
That, like, of course he is.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
Summer Ray was dating Cole Bennett, you know Cole Bennett.
Ria
Yes.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
And now Cole Bennett is dating Camilla Morone. Yeah. Which is like, that's Leo's ex.
Fran
Yeah. That's crazy.
Ria
Oh, yes. It was created by the British content creator group called the Sidemen. And this is the. Obviously, the US Version.
Noah
Isn't that, like, a chaos? KSI Sidemen.
Fran
It's like, mm. So, yeah. But I find it to be entertaining. I don't hate them as much as I thought I would. Dwight Howard's on it. He'll do any reality show, I believe.
Ria
Sure seems like it, huh?
Fran
And they were like, what's Dwight Howard doing? Is pretty funny. Ekinsu is obviously my favorite. She's just hilarious. Her reactions to people buying things is so funny. And then when she loses money in the challenges, she was like, I'm not buying anything from the store, though. And they're like, fair, Fair.
Ria
That's. You know, you got to have a good angle, right?
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
Bri Mark. Oh, yeah, I see now. Venomous Valkyrie. Brie. Mark. Sketch. Vanita Ekinsu. Zach. I was just trying to see if I knew any of these other names. Oh, Alyssa Violet.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
I did see a clip on Tick Tock of Sketch, like, on Twitch or something, and he was saying, like, not in a funny way, like, Brie is not a good person and, like, no one likes her.
Ria
Oh, Brie.
Fran
I'm only on the fifth episode, but she's gunning hard for Sketch.
Ria
Oh.
Noah
He was like, she's trying to hang out with people. No one wants to hang out with her. Like, no one likes her.
Ria
Right.
Fran
Little. Right.
Ria
Sketch.
Fran
You know, Brother, the guy.
Noah
Brother.
Fran
What's up, brother? Hey, brother. Remember that was a thing for a while.
Noah
They were doing it on a love.
Fran
Yeah, Jeremiah was doing it a lot.
Ria
No, I know that people say that, but, like, that's the thing someone created. Like, I thought just, like, boys were. The boys were just saying that. Like, that comes from him.
Fran
No, he's a streamer. Ah.
Noah
You'd probably recognize him if you saw.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
Or maybe not. Maybe she's just not on that side of the Internet.
Fran
I didn't know who he was until that thing, the brother thing started happening on Tick Tock. And I was like, what is this? And then I realized who it was. But other than that, I've never, like, watched anything of his.
Noah
He's pretty, like, universally liked, it seems.
Ria
I. Oh, I can see they were all like.
Fran
They're all.
Ria
That kid.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
Yeah. I. I don't think I've actually ever seen him before, but I. Yeah, they're.
Fran
All talking about, like, trying to get Sketch out, and Ekin's like, but he's so cute. Everything she says is laugh out loud funny.
Ria
I love her.
Fran
It's so. It's so entertaining. But I recommend if someone's looking for just like, a mindless reality show that they want to throw on and maybe thought that they wouldn't like, and then all of a sudden they're watching episode after episode and can't shut it off, I was pretty locked in, and I'm pretty excited to get home and finish it.
Ria
Oh, yeah.
Noah
How many episodes are there?
Fran
I think, like, maybe nine or 10. I keep saying nine because I thought it was nine, but it might be 10. Yeah. I just was shocked at how much I didn't hate them, you know, the people on the show.
Ria
Yeah, fair, fair.
Fran
So that is. That is a recommendation and what I'm looking forward to watching when I get home. Didn't watch Fast five yet. Wow.
Ria
Well, you're in it. You've gotten yourself in a little bit of a time crunch because we only. We have this week. But you are now watching them with your husband, which you have to watch. You know, you're locked in with watching them with Matt. And Yankees playoffs are today, so it's just like, you know, then like, the playoffs are on. It's like. That takes up a lot of, like, the nighttime.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
Things because he's.
Fran
They stream the streams.
Ria
He's got to be here.
Fran
Right. So we were thinking maybe tonight if he gets home at a reasonable hour.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
It will be sometime this week. But I don't think I'll be watching everyone before.
Ria
I don't think so either.
Fran
I don't think the time.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
There's a game, like, every night. I know, I know. And then yesterday, unless Saturday, you guys.
Ria
Decided to just do, like, a marathon.
Fran
I can't. I have an engagement party, so.
Ria
Yeah, never mind.
Fran
No, I know. But on Monday, when we got home, I napped for a pretty long period of time and then woke up at like 8pm and was like, oh, shit. Yeah. Now I gotta wake up from my nap. And now I gotta, like, get myself together and then get ready to go into bed now, because now I've fucked myself. And that's when I was like, you know, I might just throw this mindless show on. It was up till 2am watching it, so. But fast five, it'll happen this week for sure. At some point. Yeah, definitely. All right. Shall we get into the rest of the show?
Ria
Let's do it.
Fran
We're gonna be talking about big divorce.
Ria
Huge.
Fran
Big divorce.
Ria
Huge.
Fran
Nicole Kidman and Eth Urban. They are, you say Eth.
Noah
Urban?
Fran
Keith Urban. Sorry. Sorry. Just misspoke. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, they are getting a divorce. This shocked me.
Ria
Shocked.
Fran
There's an AI actress that is apparently making waves. Agencies want to sign her. I don't know this. That's scary. And more details from Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's wedding have come out. Seem very cute. And we have the popcorner. So let's get into the topics. Abercrombie is an official fashion partner of the NFL. There's gear for all teams available, and you can start with their Sunday crew oversized sweatshirt or check out their sick jackets. Guys, Bill's Mafia. I got another Bills jacket. If you remember, at the show last year, I gave it away. Don't worry, I got another one. You can add a touch of team spirit to your wardrobe this season with NFL by Abercrombie. Or go for Abercrombie's newest drop, full of flowy silhouettes and feminine details. That's worth swooning over. Pair romantic pieces with the mid rise bootcut jean and new distressed bomber jacket. And when we say denim should feel like this, we're talking about Abercrombie denim. Abercrombie is known for their denim from their viral 90s inspired fit. They're on trend. Statement jeans. I got a couple of statement jeans from Abercrombie recently that I cannot wait to, you know, take out of my closet this fall. So Abercrombie drops new arrivals every week, shop in the app, online, or in stores. So news hit on Monday afternoon that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were separating. And then the next day, Nicole Kidman has officially filed for divorce. This shocked me because just this past year, we saw Keith Urban speak so beautifully about Nicole Kidman, whatever that was. I remember he talked. We talked about it. It was like a gorgeous speech about her, the kids, the whole thing. They always seem so locked in. And then, boom. Separation after 19, 20 years. Crazy.
Ria
It really is. This is one that I never would have thought.
Fran
Never. I thought that they were because locked in.
Ria
Right? And granted, you know, Nicole Kidman, I've always thought that, like, Nicole in real life, little freaky. I can't. He's just someone you can't get a read on, in my opinion.
Fran
Totally.
Ria
You know, like, her private life has always also been pretty private. And it's like the Tom Cruise relationship and then that, you know, her kids in that marriage and then this and then that. It's just there's a lot going on. And sometimes in interviews, I was like, I'm Just, what is. Who is Nicole really?
Fran
Right?
Ria
Like, who is Nicole really?
Fran
Who is Nicole Kidman at her core?
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
You break down Nicole Kidman at night when the day's over.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
What is she doing in her spare time? What is she wearing around the house? What is she drinking? What is she eating? What is. Is she sitting on the couch? Like, you really got to break Nicole Kidman down to her court. And what is she. You don't know.
Ria
I don't know. But I. I did see that. I felt like I learned the most from just a funny clip of Reese Witherspoon on. She was on Las Coldrisas, and she, like, did her. Nicole impression that she has is very, very funny. It was just like, saying that, you know, she'll. Nicole call her sometimes, and it's like, let's go on a girls trip. Like, I need. I need tequila. Or like, let's. I'm buying property. Like, I love to buy property. And I'm like, this may be the most inside Nicole's brain ever, but they were together for 19 years, married for 19 years, and this really just came out of nowhere.
Fran
That's a success.
Ria
It is. It is.
Fran
19 years in Hollywood.
Ria
19 years in Hollywood is a huge success. Is that's. I mean, married to anyone for 19 years. Is.
Fran
That's a success?
Ria
But especially in Hollywood, is it like.
Noah
I don't know, like, you don't get married to be like, well, hopefully we last 20 years. Like, you're. You want to spend the rest of your life.
Ria
No, but I mean, Hollywood standards, to.
Fran
Look back on 20 years ago, that was a disaster. You don't want to look at it like, oh, you know What? We had 20. We had 20. 19 years of marriage. That was a success. And, you know, but apparently for Nicole and Keith.
Ria
Right. Well, apparently, Nicole wanted to save the relationship, so that's. That is the. The rumor that we are getting from. From them right now. Page Six wrote that a source said sometimes relationships just run their course, adding that Kidman did not want the separation and was trying to save things.
Fran
The two of them never really made sense to me, if I'm being completely honest.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
But I knew that they were together and locked in.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
But I was always like, huh? Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.
Ria
Apparently, they've been living apart since the beginning of the summer.
Fran
Ooh.
Ria
And Nicole has had the kids with her most of the time. And Keith has reportedly moved out of their Nashville home. Kidman is holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone A source claimed, referring to his current tour.
Fran
I was gonna say the way. The way that's written, he's been gone.
Ria
Yeah, yeah.
Fran
He's like, let's clarify.
Ria
Right, right, right. Keith has since purchased his own property in Nashville. Urban appeared to hint at some of his marital issues with Kidman in a suspicious social media move months ago, after Kidman shared a touching social media tribute to her husband on their 19th wedding anniversary. Many sleuthing fans couldn't help but notice that Keith did not share a post of his own and responded with a simple heart emoji on Nicole's post. I feel like no one really would have looked at that. Like, I wouldn't have looked at that twice and thought, oh my God, marital woes are here.
Fran
Can't believe Keith's not posting.
Ria
He just posted a heart on her page, you know, so I don't know. But yeah, she. They haven't been on each other's social media in a while and. And she filed for divorce.
Fran
Shit. As of today, they just couldn't make it work. Their house was 36 million.
Ria
She's getting the kids for way more time. The parenting plan says the kids will spend 306 days with Nicole and 59 days with Keith.
Fran
Wow. That's why she's calling Reese for those girls trips.
Ria
Seriously. They agreed that all major decisions involving their kids, including education, healthcare, will be made jointly. She cited irreconcilable differences. She wants to remain the primary residential parent of the children. They retain their own assets. Suggests that there was a prenup at some point, you know, that they got married and had a prenup. Huh.
Fran
Damn.
Ria
I know. Damn, I am excited. It's crazy. They have all. They've like, clearly have worked all this out already. So. I don't know. Like I said, it's been. They've been separated since the beginning of the summer, but like immediately. TMZ wrote like, Nicole and Keith have already worked out custody, child support. Appears they've agreed to take co parenting classes. Seems like they've obviously spent time getting these divorce details down, even though their sources say Nicole made an abrupt decision to file. Decision to file today. But at that point, like, have you been living separately and maybe you tried to make it work? It couldn't work. And then news breaks publicly that like, it's been a. You. You're not together anymore. And the original story too was like, oh, Nicole wanted the marriage. Marriage to work and. And it wouldn't. She's like, well, fuck this, I'm divorce.
Fran
She's like, oh, Keith's not gonna try. Yeah, I'm done.
Noah
What are your thoughts on people trying to say that this isn't surprising based on the movies she's been doing recently? Like, that. That played a factor.
Fran
You said that she did a passion project.
Noah
Yeah, like, that was Baby Girl. Like, but that's not the only one. She did the Zac Efron movie. Like, she's done a lot of movies where she's just with hot younger guys.
Ria
Yeah, yeah. I'll be honest, that thought didn't even cross.
Fran
It didn't cross what I've been seeing.
Noah
Like, a lot of people are like, who is surprised by this? Like, look at the movie she's doing.
Ria
Like, I feel like, yeah, but that's been, like, years. And it's like, not like she filmed that movie at the beginning of this year. Like, that movie was filmed.
Noah
At what point is Keith, like, another. Another?
Ria
I guess. I don't know. She's a actress.
Fran
Yeah, she's like one of the most well known actors. I feel like Keith probably is.
Ria
Like, that doesn't get you. Because I'm like, you're married to an actress. You know what you sign up for granted. Like, do you think every project's gonna be like Baby Girl?
Fran
No, no, you hope not.
Ria
But, like, Nicole is very passionate about telling that story, right?
Fran
Yeah, very. I am excited, though, to see, like, maybe a Nicole Kidman single era, you know what I mean? Like, who's Nicole Kidman gonna step out with?
Ria
What does that look like?
Fran
I don't know. We don't know.
Ria
Such an enigma to me as a person.
Fran
She is.
Ria
She really is. And they're both Australian, right?
Fran
Yes, I believe so.
Ria
Yeah.
Noah
Keith Urban's Australian.
Fran
Yeah.
Noah
That's shocking to me.
Ria
You've never heard him speak.
Noah
I just thought he, like, he's kind of more like country.
Ria
I mean, he's a country singer.
Noah
So I was like, oh, he's. Yeah, he's from Nashville or something.
Fran
Yeah, that was like, when I found out Christian Bale had an accent.
Ria
Australian. American.
Fran
Wow.
Noah
That's crazy.
Ria
He was born in New Zealand, actually. Yeah.
Noah
People. I saw people. I mean, Jimmy Fallon's married, but because, you know, have you ever seen that clip of Nicole Kim and Jimmy Fallon saying how they used. Like, they almost dated or something?
Ria
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Noah
People mean, like, now it's time.
Fran
But he's Jimmy Fallon. There's no way Nicole Hillman's gonna date Jimmy Fallon.
Noah
I mean, never say never.
Ria
Yet. No, he. I mean, he was in Australia for all. All the early years of his career. He moved to Nashville in 1992. How Keith Urban.
Fran
So.
Noah
Yeah, maybe she'll.
Ria
Yeah, I mean, that's. That's another reason I was like, they had that background. It's like they're both Australian.
Noah
Maybe she'll call.
Fran
Zach kept them together for this long.
Ria
What?
Noah
Zac Efron? Maybe.
Fran
Hey, maybe she'll end up on a yacht with Zac Efron this weekend.
Ria
Right, right, right.
Fran
In Santa. Zac Efron has his own yacht where every newly single woman just takes a ride.
Noah
Actually, they go, Zach's available next week on a yacht.
Fran
Yeah. Have your assistant call Zach's assistant. We'll set this up. I think Nina's actually thinking about departing soon and Nicole can make her way on.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
There'S an open spot for Nicole.
Ria
What a. That. You know that sometimes it just happens where you just really like 19 years.
Fran
Yeah. I say success for them. I think I do too. I wish you could work it out.
Ria
You know what? It just. I guess. Yeah. Sometimes like when people are like, oh, 19 years. People are married 19, 20 years and then their explanation is like, you know, things just fizzled. I'm like, after 19 years, like, is it right? Isn't it supposed to like a little bit.
Fran
Yeah. After 19 years, I'm just, you know.
Ria
Like not like not, you know, not really devoid of passion. But you're getting a little bit older. Maybe it's different. I don't know. I just think it can.
Fran
It's not like where it's a couple years and it fizzles. Like you. Well, you stuck it out for 19.
Ria
Right.
Noah
Remember that award show moment that went viral where it was like Skarsgard.
Fran
Yes.
Noah
She kissed him like right in front of Keith.
Fran
Yeah. Never forget.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
You know. Yes. Can't wait for that next season whenever it comes. I know that they're working on it, but that is such a spectacular show.
Ria
Oh, man.
Fran
We just posted a cute little video on chicks in the office showing off my little cute fall decor from Wayfair. I got those pumpkin soup bowls from Wayfair, made the tomato soup in them. Also my dining room tables from Wayfair and my mirror. They have everything you need to really personalize your home. And you can shop for holiday decor for every room in the house, whether that's your kitchen, your living room. Maybe you want to throw some holiday decor in the bedroom. Listen, you can refresh everything with Wayfair. You can refresh your bedroom with the bedding, the linens, the guest room, anything you need. And you can make holiday hosting a breeze with quality cookware that will wow any guest. And there's something for every style and every home. I also got the Nespresso machine. I love a good espresso in the morning, so that fits in perfectly as well. So get organized, refreshed, and ready for the holidays. For way less, head to Wayfair.com right now to shop all things home. That's w a y f Wayfair. Every style, every home. There is an AI Actress apparently taking the Hollywood world by storm. Tilly Norwood. Now, this is freaky. This is scary.
Ria
We can't do this.
Fran
We can't. Because here's the thing. AI Is implemented everywhere now, right? Like, when you Google something, AI Is giving you the answer. So there are. In some ways, AI Is unavoidable. Yeah. Right now, this, to me, seems avoidable.
Ria
Right.
Fran
We got a lot of talented actors and actresses out there that are looking for their breakout role.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
Okay. We don't need to have AI Actresses.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
Models like this.
Ria
Like what? Yeah, I know it is scary, and it sounds. It sounds almost silly to say, but it's just like, especially in, you know, the modeling or anything like that, it's just like an industry where you don't. You don't stand a chance. You don't stand a chance with a fake person. You're gonna go up against someone that they literally modified to be perfect for whatever the job is and. Exactly. Same kind of thing with, like, an AI Actress. Of course, people are like, oh, it's devoid of emotion and, like, all these things. But it's just like, well, what.
Fran
Why.
Ria
Why even put this. Why even put the name in the mix of, like, oh, yeah. Like, what agency is like, we should really sign the. The AI Actress? Like, she's gonna be huge.
Fran
It's like, that's insane. That. That is really insane. Like, what. What director out there, Caster is like, we need to cast this AI Actress. You're paying nothing. You're paying nothing. What are you even paying? You know what I mean? Like, when you're paying somebody for a.
Ria
Role, going to the creator.
Fran
Creator of the AI actress.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
And the agents and managers, again, 10, 15%. Like, that is bizarre.
Ria
It really is. So Variety put out an article that the Actress has been condemned by sag, AFTRA and the Actress Actress. It's been a contentious subject in Hollywood after her creator, Eileen Van Vander Velden, recently claimed that multiple talent agents were interested in signing the AI Creation. The acting guild believes creativity is and should remain human centered and is opposed to the replacement of human performers by synthetics. Then they wrote, to be clear, Tilly Norwood is not an actor. It's an. It's a character generated by a computer program that was trained on the work of countless professional performers without permission or compensation. It has no life experience to draw from, no emotion. And from what we've seen, audiences aren't interested in watching computer generated content untethered from the human experience. It doesn't solve any problem. It creates the problem of using stolen performances to put actors out of work, jeopardizing performers livelihoods and devaluing human artistry. I mean that's. That's so true too. It's like the a. Like the. The AI actress is formulation is coming from, I guess learning I all the work of real people to then be potentially placed in roles over said real people.
Fran
Right. It makes my brain hurt kind of thinking about it.
Noah
It does like music when they do AI and like the music sounds really good, but it's just. They're just stealing from actual artists and their voice.
Ria
Eileen Van der Velden.
Noah
Good name though. Tilly Norwood.
Ria
Honestly, like it is.
Fran
She's a star.
Ria
Both sides. It's good names like Tilly Norwood. Okay, got it. Also, talk about someone that sounds like, like a computer scientist who's created this AI actress. Eileen Vander Velden.
Fran
Yes, exactly.
Noah
That's an evil villain. And like the incredible.
Fran
Yeah, yeah.
Ria
Yes, she did put out a statement about Tilly Norwood because Tilly Norwood, you know, has an Instagram, but you can look like it's just crazy.
Fran
I. This just.
Noah
She makes a statement.
Ria
No, it's on her Instagram too. But I, you know, Aline said to those who have expressed anger over the creation of my AI character, Tilly Norwood, she is not a replacement for a human being, but a creative work, a piece of art. Like many forms of art before her, she sparks conversation. And that there's a bug and that in itself shows the power of creativity. I see AI not as a replacement for people, but as a new tool, a new paintbrush. Just as animation, puppetry, or CGI open fresh possibilities without taking away from live acting, AI offers another way to imagine and build stories. I'm an actor myself and nothing, certainly not an AI character, can take away the craft or joy of human performance. But then I'm just like, what's what? Why? What's the point of creating it? You know, like what's the end. End game?
Noah
It's taking over the world.
Fran
Right. And she says an expression of.
Ria
She represents experimentation, not Substitution. Much of my work has always been about holding up a mirror to society through satire, and this is no different.
Fran
Do we know her past work?
Ria
No. No, I don't think. I don't.
Fran
Yeah, I'm not too familiar either.
Ria
But I hope we can welcome AI as part of the wider artistic family. One more way to express ourselves alongside theater, film, painting, music, and countless others. But I'm just like, I'm just confused.
Fran
It just reaches a point where it's, it's scary and it's just taking over.
Ria
Because then it's like, do you want to make an AI you just want to make a movie or, like, makes a make art with this AI actress that it's just completely AI and there's, like, behind it? Yeah, it's very weird.
Fran
I really hope a talent agency doesn't actually sign this.
Ria
Well, that's what's crazy too. It's like, what.
Fran
Like, what would be.
Ria
Like July 3rd would be the game. July 30th, Tilly Norwood posted. Can't believe it. My first ever role is live. I star in AI I saw an AI commissioner, a new comedy sketch that playfully explores the future of TV development. Produced by the brilliant team at Particle 6 Productions, which is the world's leading AI production studio.
Noah
Just wait until she starts a podcast.
Ria
I don't want the AI production studio.
Fran
There will be some AI she found it, Ari.
Ria
She founded it.
Noah
So this is bullshit that people are mad about us.
Fran
Yeah. There's going to be like, AI podcasters sitting in big comfy chairs that are just.
Noah
Did you hear a really don't like.
Ria
Us looking at her. Looking at her Instagram?
Fran
Yeah, it's freaky. I did not look at her Instagram, but I looked her up on Google.
Noah
And I her already.
Fran
I know. I know it.
Ria
I do not like this at all. I really do not. Evil villain Vander Velden.
Fran
No, it's, it's really freaky.
Ria
Yeah, No, I don't.
Fran
Genuinely. Very freaky. I didn't even know about it. And you brought it up to me.
Ria
Yeah. And I thought it was like all over the news this morning. They did a whole segment on the Today show about it and I was like.
Fran
And then I typed her name in and all of a sudden it was like, today everything.
Noah
I was like, oh, if you didn't know. And you went to her Instagram. I haven't looked at it was you. Does it come across like she's real? Does she look real?
Fran
Yes.
Ria
No, no, no. I, I, I think like the first couple posts, maybe they're a follow up. But you could even see. And it's also right away, it'll say.
Noah
You think I have a show.
Ria
Like, her bio is. You'll either get it or pretend you don't. I'm a creation. Hashtag AI Art.
Fran
Now I'm looking.
Noah
Wait, what's her Instagram?
Ria
Tilly Norwood.
Fran
Actress, Parentheses Aspiring.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
London. Mostly in cafes.
Noah
Oh, wait till. I mean, she looks kind of real.
Ria
I mean, this picture just came across your feed. Like, I wouldn't.
Fran
I'm on the same picture.
Ria
Like, I'd be like. I'd be like, that's a. That's a person.
Fran
Sure. Well, did you see, like, when Vogue used that AI model? Yeah. People were like, why are you using an AI model?
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
Like, there are plenty of models.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
They don't want to pay for it or, you know. Yeah.
Ria
This is like. I just don't like. Who's writing these captions?
Fran
Vander Velden.
Ria
Yep.
Noah
I mean, her. Yeah. Like AI.
Ria
Yeah.
Listener Caller
But.
Ria
Or is it Tilly herself, her creator?
Noah
It's Tilly.
Fran
Tilly herself. The AI is writing in the captions.
Ria
Yeah.
Noah
Maybe. Yeah, it would be her AI can do it all. I don't know. She looks.
Ria
There should be an AI label on every single post on here. That is so true. I'm looking at the comments.
Fran
Yeah, for sure.
Noah
It's like the photos like this that are really weird. Like, her.
Fran
You know who she kind of looks like? Rowan Blanchard.
Ria
She does a little bit. That is so true.
Fran
Right. The girl. Girl meets world.
Ria
Yeah. Like, this video from May6 captures is waving. Like, I haven't just spiraled over something I said in 2016. Hi, besties.
Fran
You.
Ria
You didn't exist.
Noah
Her.
Fran
Her.
Noah
Her story highlights are creepy.
Ria
Like, I don't like this at all.
Fran
Right.
Noah
It's like, yeah, pretend classic London. I'm gonna run into her because, like, her wearing like. What is this?
Ria
I don't know. I really don't like this.
Noah
Iced coffee. Check.
Fran
Very scary.
Ria
I know.
Noah
10.
Fran
Extremely scary.
Noah
Oh, she dropped her coffee. Classic Tilly.
Fran
So that's like. Like the dropped coffee. Like, this is just. Next level. Next level.
Ria
So weird thing with AI.
Fran
No.
Noah
Oh, we're. We're so far gone.
Fran
They already are.
Ria
They're all here. It's all here.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
I feel like my necklaces are getting like, tighter in my neck. Like, I'm like.
Fran
I know.
Ria
Yeah. I was just like, you know, Tilly nor what's career to come to a crashing cult.
Fran
Yeah. Hopefully not nominated for any Oscars or anything of the Sort.
Ria
Right, right, right.
Fran
That would be really disappointing because, you.
Ria
Know, it's kind of like what Scarlett Johansson had to deal with when it was like they wanted to use her voice. And it was. The whole, that whole situation is the same kind of thing. Like, what's stopping the, like putting this AI person just copying somebody's exact work and like watching a performance and learning everything from it and then just replicating it and then getting like the accolades that that real person had done.
Fran
Right. It's. It's fucked up.
Ria
Yeah. On. It really does, actually. It makes my brain hurt too.
Fran
It's because there's so many things you could do with it that it's just like out of control.
Ria
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Fran
Anyways, moving on to some real love. Yeah, some real love. Real happiness. Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco. More details came out from their wedding celebration. It seemed like such a beautiful night. There was no formal sit down dinner. They was just like dancing and cocktail tables. It was catered by Nobu. There was an ice cream parlor. They, you know, they wanted to do it barefoot. They did their first dance barefoot. Benny apparently doesn't like wearing shoes. So a lot of the design that went into the wedding was Benny incorporated because he incorporated some rugs and things of that nature. He doesn't like wearing shoes. He wants to be free. He wants his dogs out. And that's what he did at his wedding day. And I love that. And it just seems like it was such like a chill wedding. Like they, they really just had a great night and they leaned into what they wanted their wedding to be. And I love that for them.
Ria
I know. I appreciate when people, celebrity or non celebrity, have their wedding the way they want it to be. No pressure from outside noise of oh, I got to make sure I do this or the wedding has to have that or I can't. Has to be a dinner doesn't. You know, it's all these things, right? And apparently they. The quote was they both just wanted to dance and have fun. You could feel so much love from them. No Boo catering. Like you said. No sit down dinner. Everyone dancing barefoot to Mark Ronson. I mean, once again, it's like you have some of the best people at the wedding too. It's really like Mark Ronson's DJing again. Freaking take my shoes off. I'll be dancing all night too. The wedding was apparently very eclectic. Benny, like you said, Benny, a lot of decor, a lot of velvet elements. Maybe it's like a sensory thing. Maybe, you know, like how some people love the feel of, you know, exactly. I mean, where it's like you feel that you don't want.
Fran
You would want to touch certain things.
Ria
Yeah. It was very similar to their Beverly Hills home. Rugs, carpets everywhere. And they had vows that they read for each other. Heartfelt and sweet vows, which guests were left in tears over Benny's reported nod to Selena's younger sister, Gracie. The songwriter presented his new sister in law with the coupon book for, quote, whatever she needs from the couple, including a day to hang out and a shopping spree. Gomez allegedly bawled her eyes out during Blanco's vows, which were much shorter than hers and was sobbing and crying so hard when they said I do said, oh, that's so.
Fran
That's really.
Ria
Everyone was there was sobbing. It was extremely emotional and it doesn't sound so sweet.
Fran
Like you said, I love some good values.
Ria
Really a good guy. You know, it's like a little coupon book for a little sister. That's so cute.
Fran
So sweet.
Ria
What it like, such a sweet idea. And I love now seeing people's outfits because you kind of like, we were joking obviously when last podcast of like, who was at the wedding, whatever. But you could see like Paris Hilton and Sofia Carson and Jennifer Stone. The Wizards cast. Some of the Wizards cast seem to be there, which I loved to see. There's some people that just like. I was like, oh, this just warms my heart that they're all at this wedding.
Fran
I know. I was like, oh, the Wizards cast, they made it. They got. They got the invite. That's nice to see.
Ria
Yeah, it was so cute.
Fran
I love hearing about that. I love hearing a little glimpse of their vows. I love vows at a wedding. It's so special to hear like the couple talk about each other and little things like that. It's just so sweet. And it feels like they had such a magical night.
Ria
I know. It really did.
Fran
I feel like we were there.
Ria
I know. And I love seeing the seeing like even just the little bit of the content of people headed there and being excited and posting and yeah, Jennifer. It looked like Jennifer Stone was with the guy who is in Teen beach movie, you know? You know?
Fran
Yeah. What's his name?
Ria
Garrett Clayton. Is that who I'm thinking of this guy? He's teenager. Yeah.
Fran
I saw people talk about that. Somebody from Teen beach movie was there and he.
Ria
Because it was. It was like Jennifer Stone was posing these pictures with him and Myra Walsh. I don't know if I'm saying her name right. She was also in like a ton of Disney stuff. Growing up, you know, that's. And she's gorgeous, but, like, she. It's just so cute, like, seeing that, you know, Santa Barbara hashtag. Santa Barbara weddings.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
Made the hashtag same kind of figure out.
Fran
It's nice that they did it local for them, too. Like, it seemed like they really just wanted to make it feel homey and feel like them.
Ria
Yep.
Fran
Which is really so cute and so important for a wedding that it feels like yourself. Oh.
Ria
So she posted a picture with, you know, David DeLuise.
Fran
Had to be hyped to be there.
Ria
100 there.
Fran
Like, they made it. Oh, I'm in the invite list.
Ria
So cute.
Fran
That is really cute.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
So happy.
Ria
I loved hearing more of the details. It just seemed like something that they put together that meant a lot to them. And it felt like I didn't know if we were gonna get reports of some big, lavish wedding or whatever. It just seems like they. They did exactly what they wanted to do.
Fran
Right. They just did, like, normal shit for their wedding.
Ria
Yep.
Fran
And it was really, really sweet. So, yeah, congratulations to them. And we wouldn't mind more pictures if they came out. We wouldn't mind them, but no pressure because they're chill like that.
Ria
I love seeing everybody's outfits, too, you know?
Fran
Oh, yeah. What people wore. It's like, what a hard decision.
Ria
I love to see. That's the, like, tuck situation that Sofia Carson wore was so cool.
Fran
Right. It's like, what? You know, you have to go through the process of, like, what am I gonna wear to this wedding?
Ria
Totally.
Fran
And you better knock it out of the park. Totally. But huge congrats to them. And that wraps up the topics. The only thing we love as much as you and meeting you in person are delicious cocktails. And no one serves up real delicious drinks like Rumhaven. Rumhaven is made with real coconut water and no artificial flavors or preservatives for a clean and refreshing taste. You cannot beat the taste of real coconut water. It's delicious, it's clean, and it's refreshing. Enjoy Rumhaven straight over ice with a splash of club soda or in your favorite juice. We love Rumhaven cocktails. We are drinking them in Savannah, in Charleston, we're going to be drinking them on the tour. They are so delicious. So head to rom.com chicks in the office to learn more. All right, let's get into the popcorn where we're taking your questions, your voicemails, your hot takes opinions. Noah, play that first voicemail.
Listener Caller
Hey, Rhea, Fran, Noah, Olive, and Norman. This is Sabrina calling from Michigan. I Am a long, long time fan. You could maybe even say day one. My question is, do you think we will see Zac Efron in the ballroom this Dancing with the Star season, supporting his brother? Do we think he's gonna make an appearance on Disney Night? I think that would be kind of iconic. And if he doesn't make an appearance in the ballroom, do you think him and Nina Dobrev are watching from the yacht? Are they tuning in every week? Are they voting for Dylan? I need to know these answers. What do you guys think? Thanks so much. I absolutely love you guys and listening to your podcast is truly something I look forward to every single week. Keep doing what you are doing and keep giving us that Friday energy. Thanks, Bye.
Fran
Love it. So sweet. Thank you so much.
Ria
I don't think he's gonna go.
Fran
I don't think he's gonna go and I think that's perfectly fine. Yeah, I think that Zac Efron, if.
Ria
He, if he makes like, if he makes the final, maybe, maybe.
Fran
But I, I still don't think so. I think that I could see Zach being like, this is Dylan's thing. Like if I show up, it becomes about me. And I think that everyone is aware of that and I don't think it's a bad thing that he doesn't go because this is about Dylan. And I think Zach's bill busy on a yacht. I mean he's gonna be busy with Nicole Kidman soon, so you know, he's not gonna have time for Dancing with the Stars.
Ria
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure Zach is voting every single week from his phone like when he's supposed to. I'm sure the Efron family group chat is reminding everybody to vote and making sure that they're texting their votes in and all those things. But yeah, no, I agree with you. I think like especially now that Dylan is having his moment is kind of like let Dylan have the moment.
Fran
Right, Zach, you had your moment for majority of their life.
Ria
Yeah, it's still Zach's moment. You know, like when Zach's in the room. Exact moment.
Fran
Exactly. So you don't want to take that away from him. So I think it's perfectly fine if he does not go.
Ria
Yeah.
Listener Caller
Hi, Rhea. Hi, Fran, Carol calling from Cleveland, Ohio.
Fran
Okay.
Listener Caller
I have a. Take the Bachelorette. Bachelor Golden Bachelor, not bachelor Paradise. Anyway, night one, quote unquote, night one should start at 1:00 clock in the afternoon. I would rather like to see limo entrances in daylight then forcing these 60 year old people to stay up until 7 o' clock in the morning, the Golden Bachelor was still giving out his. His first impression. Rose and the sun was shining. We. We have cut to this man awake for a full 36 hours. Like, why. Why not front load it? That's my opinion. We should front load night one and start, quote, unquote, night one at, you know, 1 2:00 clock in the afternoon. It's not like these people are sleeping. They're awake at 6:00'. Clock. Like, what? Just send them in makeup? Why are we waiting? That's my opinion.
Fran
Because they're trying to tire them out for a reason. To make them go crazy. It's a reality TV show method on purpose.
Ria
Yeah, it absolutely is. And at the same time, I mean, specifically for Golden Bachelor, like, arguably, yes. Does it seem not great to be having these older folk up all night and they'll never switch it? Cause also, like, aesthetically, sorry, like, showing up during the daytime magic's not there. The magic of the limo entrances, it's not going to be happening when the sun is shining. That's.
Fran
Yes. Looks too bright.
Ria
Yeah. They're gonna. They're expected to come out in their best evening wear at one o' clock in the afternoon. They're not gonna do that.
Fran
No. They're gonna be in beach wear.
Ria
Yeah, I appreciate that. You know, you want these people to not have to stay up all night. That's very fair. I mean, maybe they switch it around for Golden Bachelor in. In some way, but it is also a way to weed out the week.
Fran
Right. They're like, you can't stay up. You can't handle this.
Ria
You can't handle this.
Fran
65 years old and you can't stay up. Get out of here.
Ria
Yep, yep, Exactly. I mean, it is. It is crazy that for that show, they still do the same thing that way, but it is the reality TV show method. Yeah. That is the way.
Fran
And once again, tired and hungry.
Ria
They're not gonna let these people stroll in at noon and have a mimosa. That's for sure.
Fran
No. No way.
Listener Caller
Hey, chicks. I have a hot take about the Bachelorette announcement. Being Taylor, Frankie, Paul. I mean, actually, my hot take might be that I really don't have strong feelings about it either way because people seem either really hot and bothered or really hot and excited about it. And I just kind of don't care that much about the announcement itself. But what I was actually going to say is that the thing that's really striking me is the double standard I'm seeing in the fan base because so many of these fans have been up in arms about casting men with these problematic past restraining orders, even just insinuate or even just accusations of domestic violence. And now they catch a bachelorette as the lead with a very similar past in terms of the problems she has. And they're, like, giddy with excitement, like the same people that were, like, calling out the franchise for the men they cast. I just think that's interesting. I mean, again, I don't really care, but it's just interesting to see that double standard. I'm curious to hear your thoughts and also, will you be watching?
Ria
Yeah, I think we're going to be watching.
Fran
Yeah, I think so. I think it's maybe more the fact that they're just, like, leaning into it now, where with the other contestants, it's like, how did you not do the background? You know, all of that? And people are, like, up in arms about it, which, you know, a lot of the times, rightfully so. You're like, how the fuck did this person get on this show?
Ria
Sometimes it's, like, kept more of a secret, too, and then revealed where it's like, oh, this is shady. And they're trying to make us not realize this about certain contestants.
Fran
Whereas, like, Taylor, Frankie Paul's on a TV show talking about what she's done.
Ria
We've watched it all happen already.
Fran
Yeah. So I think maybe that is where maybe people feel differently, you know, maybe. I don't know. It's a good question.
Ria
It's definitely there. I think that we're there. There was, like, no contestants on the show are being held to different standards, and I think it has sent everyone's, like, wiring, like, fried a little bit to be like. Like, we've been watching this show in the same way for so many years, and now they've flipped it on its head completely and cast a lead that, you know, does have some things in her, in her past that if she wasn't already famous, would not be cast in the show.
Fran
Right.
Ria
You know, like, if she was just applying to be the Bachelorette as a. As a normie, like, that's not that they probably would never have done that, but she is already famous. So, yes, there is absolutely. Like, there is. It's just like, she's already. She's already famous, and there. It's reality tv, and they're desperate to save the franchise, and this is what they're trying.
Fran
And they're like, we'll have somebody messy and. And drama.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
For the show.
Ria
Yeah, exactly. I think they've kind of And I expect it's going to be for the season two. I think they're kind of throwing the rule book out the window, so. And we'll see if that pays off for them or not.
Listener Caller
Hi, Rhea and Fran. I have an opinion about Dancing with the Stars. I feel like with Riley, fans are either obsessed with Riley, like, she can't do nothing wrong, or people hate Riley and they're. I don't know how online you guys are, but people are commenting that she shouldn't be a pro, she should be demoted to troop. And I feel like there's just nobody in the middle. She seems like a very polarizing figure. And I personally think that she's done great and she did great with her freestyle with Stephen last year. And I feel really bad for all the criticism she's getting, but she does have a lot of fans, too, so. Yeah, I want more Riley neutral fans. Where do you guys fall? Love you.
Fran
I mean, I would call the two people right here Riley neutral fans.
Ria
I mean, Riley is adorable and, you know, she's been in the studio and she's so cute and lovely. I maybe is on a different side of Dancing with the Stars. TikTok that I'm not on, but I don't see people disliking Riley in that way.
Fran
I've seen people with that level of hate demoted, but demoted for what reason? Like, they think she's not as good at, like, not that good to be a pro and that she should be demoted. I saw that.
Noah
But she needs more experience.
Fran
Yeah, she needs more experience experience or whatever.
Ria
But I think that's kind of bullshit.
Fran
Yeah. And I agree with that. And I also fall in the middle of, like, I'm not obsessed with. I think she's, you know, so cute and adorable, and I think she's a great dancer, but I'm also. I'm not, like, she's the best. She's my favorite. And then on the other side of that, I'm not, like, she's awful.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
Pretty neutral about her.
Ria
I don't know. I do think that a lot of sometimes like, that.
Fran
I don't.
Ria
I don't know if it comes from a place of people hating the family connection of it or something like that. They. Yeah, that they think, like, oh, because she's Lindsay's sister, she got a pass and they got to be on the show, but I really don't feel. Whoa, did you kill it?
Noah
I don't think so.
Ria
I really don't. I've never really felt like that was the case. And it's just so interesting to me because earlier in her seasons, like, the last two seasons, I feel like she was praised a lot for her choreography and for, you know, a newer, younger feel for a lot of the dances. And maybe it's just because she's got, like, a different partner this season and it's different vibes for her that that feedback is coming in. But I don't. I don't, like, watch her choreography and think, oh, my God, this is so below what everybody else is doing.
Fran
I agree with that.
Ria
Yeah. So that feels a little unfairly.
Noah
Her age is probably. She's so young.
Ria
She is really young. And I think that also pisses people off, too. I think, like, just people get jealous of people who find success at a young age.
Fran
Could be.
Ria

Hey, Rhea, Brandon, Noah. This is Eliza. I guess I just don't want the summer I turned pretty discourse to end. And I've been seeing people online talking about how they want a prequel with Laurel and Susanna when they were young. I was wondering if you guys would be down for that. And also, who would you want the two people playing Laurel and Susanna to be?
Fran
Thanks. I have to be honest, I don't really care about that, like, that being a prequel. I'm not like, oh, that I could do without.
Ria
I. I'm not like, oh, my God. Yes. But if it is something they made I would watch it for sure. But, yeah, I think they just, like, want more of the. Of the universe. I think it would be really interesting to see the dynamic of their friendship from when they were in college or when they first. First met and, you know, their first trips to cousins and what that looked like and all those things.
Fran
Talking about it, I'm like, oh, yeah.
Ria
Just like, I don't know.
Fran
The introducing cousins to the first time.
Ria
Yeah. Like the beginnings of their relationships, like other guys that they dated before their husbands and, you know, the escapades that they got into at the time.
Fran
You're kind of selling me a little bit more.
Ria
I think it could be good when.
Noah
That type of stuff happens. Show, you know, like.
Ria
Well, it is.
Noah
No, I know, but I'm saying, like, you. You know, the connection is there, but at that point, it's just like a new show.
Ria
Yeah. It's a prequel. No, I have nothing to. Yeah, I mean, it's a. I get what you're saying.
Noah
Like, you're just like, this is a show about two women.
Fran
Yes. In college. Yeah.
Ria
It's just the same universe.
Noah
Yeah.
Ria
I mean, it's the same way. People have said that they wanted them to be some sort of, like, Voldemort prequel. It's like, okay, well, it lives in the Harry Potter universe, but it's not like any of the same characters will be in it.
Fran
Right. But Voldemort is such a. Like, Voldemort, you know.
Ria
Yeah. Where.
Fran
I get what you're saying. You know, where it's like. It's just, you know, like Susanna and.
Noah
Laurel, like, the things that you love.
Fran
Younger them.
Noah
Pretty.
Fran
Like. Yeah.
Noah
Have not, like. Like, no connection at all, really. Like, how many callbacks are there going to be to, like, they're young, you know, Like.
Ria
No, there's not. That's why it's a. I know.
Noah
I know.
Ria
I don't. Yeah, it's. It's.
Noah
I don't know what I'm trying to.
Fran
Say, but I get what you're saying. You might.
Noah
I'm trying to say, like, you're basically.
Fran
Like, just make a new show on Amazon Prime. Yes.
Ria
Yeah.
Noah
That just have the same names as the people, the moms in this show.
Ria
Yeah.
Noah
But all. You know, that's how they die.
Ria
And, like, that is a pre. But that is.
Noah
I know it's a prequel, but I.
Ria
Feel like people would be watching that in the same. I think you're describing, like. Like, this, the show.
Noah
No, I get, like, prequels, to me, are like. I don't I don't know how to word this, but it's like it actually has a direct connection. And like, it's like the Star wars movies or something. Like, it explains things that. But this has no connection. It's just like. Because how many. How are they referencing, like, the past?
Fran
I get what you're trying to say. Like, there's nothing really to be explained.
Noah
Yeah. In the prequel wouldn't, like, connect to what you.
Fran
It's more like a spin off.
Noah
Yeah. Kind of like a spin off.
Ria
Yeah. I guess I think you're playing, like, semantics a little bit too much with.
Noah
I think so. Like, I feel like I'm saying prequels should have a direct connection or like it does.
Ria
It's like their friendship. Without their friendship, the show doesn't exist. Samurai Turned pretty. The characters never exist. If those two don't meet, I guess fall in love with their husbands and like, you would watch all that happen. It's just not like a big dramatic.
Noah
Like, I think, like, I think them raising them would be, you know, that would be a pre.
Fran
More of a prequel.
Noah
Yeah. Wow. This explains that.
Ria
Yeah.
Fran
Like, right. More of them as children rather than just them as.
Noah
That's like, before this.
Fran
It's just like two. Two young gals in college going on their adventures.
Ria
Right. But people. You want that to be. That's a better show. Like, there's more potential drama. And you.
Fran
You.
Ria
They just want to create like another teen, another team.
Noah
It could be like any show. This. They just. They have the same name. Says.
Fran
Yes, I. I completely understand what you're. What you're saying with this because I originally had that thought too, but I couldn't articulate it.
Noah
I can't really.
Ria
I get what is.
Fran
I get what you're saying.
Ria
The Carrie Diaries, like, it's just like, that's a prequel. You know, it's like they made a show about her being a teenager that really had nothing to do with.
Noah
Yeah.
Fran
Yeah.
Ria
Any part.
Fran
People forget that the carried eyes carried Iris. Carrie Diaries is even a part of Sex in the City. So. Yes.
Noah
I feel like you use the name and the connection to get people to watch, but then once you're watching, like, it's just a different, different world.
Fran
Yes.
Noah
It's not.
Ria
Oh, yeah.
Fran
Like, it doesn't feel like you're in.
Noah
The same belly's mom. Like, it's just a mom. It's just a woman.
Ria
Yeah. Well, a lot of the Star wars prequels are like that, but.
Noah
But it all ties together, doesn't it? Like, you're like oh, wow. This is Anakin. And then he turns into Darth Vader.
Ria
Oh, well, that is. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about, like, the TV shows that are, like, considered prequels.
Noah
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's like a whole universe.
Ria
Yeah. Yes.
Fran
All right, let's do one last one.
Listener Caller
Hi, ladies. I just finished the Charlie Sheen documentary, and with Denise Richards divorce from Aaron and Charlie Sheen sobriety, I would really like to see them give it another shot.
Fran
It really seems like she has so.
Listener Caller
Much love for him, and it seems like he's in a really good place right now. Curious what your opinions are on that. I know we've had some crazy moments from her on Beverly Hills, but I would like to see them reconcile.
Fran
Have a good one.
Ria
You know what? I have to say I. I had a very similar thought after I watched the documentary, because I just thought, like, she so much of what she shared and the way that she has supported him even when they weren't together, and then seeing all the shit that she's been going on with this with Aaron, and it seems like that's been a real disaster. I definitely had a moment, like, you know, what if these two crazy kids found each other again?
Fran
You can tell Denise has a lot of love for Charlie still, but, no, no, no, no. They should not go down this path again. I mean, I know that they're older now, and. And Charlie is, you know, doing better and whatnot. No, the door's closed. I think it's closed. I think that they've been through too much, honestly.
Ria
You know, that's a very realistic opinion on it, I would say.
Fran
I think they shouldn't open that back up.
Ria
Yeah. I definitely had, like, a bad, hopeless romantic, like, God, what if they did just, in their. In these new eras of their life, reconnect in a way that worked for them, but I just probably wouldn't work. I don't think it would work.
Fran
I think there'd be a lot of old things that come up, and as much as they want to move on and try and, you know, bury it.
Ria
Yeah. And. And it doesn't seem to be going. Like, there's just a lot of shit with her separation right now for Denise.
Fran
I don't know if Denise should get into an entanglement with her ex, who also had a lot of shit.
Ria
What? That's. All the stories around that have been pretty freaky, too. It's like seeing pictures. You see the pictures, like, their home, like, all. It's just. Yeah. Doesn't seem good.
Fran
Doesn't going through a lot.
Ria
Yeah, yeah, definitely.
Fran
Charlie always is going through a lot.
Ria
Yes.
Fran
You know, they may have a lot of love for each other still, but.
Ria
Yeah, they should just close that huge.
Fran
They've closed that chapter and they should keep it close for sure. All right, that wraps up the popcorner. Keep calling in with your hot takes, your opinions, your voicemails. We love hearing from you guys and thank you for all your sweet messages as well. We love you very much. All right, that wraps up today's episode of Ticks in the Office, AKA the best show on Earth. Thank you so much for watching and listening. Reminder, tickets are still on sale for those shows if you want to come see us. We met some people who thought the shows were sold out.
