This sadly is going to be our last episode of the year of 2025 and we are going to go on a little holiday break. But we will be back on Monday, January 5th with a brand new episode and a lot to say. A lot because we are going to be off for, you know, almost two weeks it feels so we're going to come back with a lot to say but we're going to close out this year going through pop culture moments, viral moments of 2025 and we have a great game of holiday trivia on this episode. So festive, festive themed episode.

I'm excited. I have Christmas with my family. We're doing Christmas Eve with my dad's side, Christmas Day with my mom's side. It'll be great. Gia Sneaky went viral the other day. I didn't. I mean viral. It got a lot of views.

[Bria]

You know, viral is you knocked her down fast.

[Fran]

Well, it was a lot of views. Yeah, but it wasn't like, millions. But she made a video of, like, talking about over Thanksgiving how it's not talked enough about, like when your sibling gets married and then they have to like, go be with their in laws for holidays.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

And then people were like, mad at me being like. Because Gia made it seem like I've been skipping Christmas for years when I haven't.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

Because she was like, she's missed the last two Christmases and made it sound like I was missing another Christmas, which I'm not. I have Christmas with my family this year, but know we did Thanksgiving with Joe side Christmas, my side. But we did double up on Christmas last year for a plethora of reasons. However, I did spend Christmas Eve with my family. Like, I. Christmas Eve, I saw all of them Christmas Day, just was not with them. But she's missed two Christmases. I'm like, oh, my God. Okay, whatever. So. But that. But it was funny because then a lot of it opened up this conversation, which I saw a lot of on TikTok afterwards, because, you know, whatever the algorithm feeds you that stuff, of a lot of married couples being like. And that's why me and my husband split the holidays, because I want to be with my family and he wants to be with his. And we see each other every day and we're like, we'll split up. I personally wouldn't do that, but there were a lot of people.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

And a lot of comments that were like, yeah, that's why we, you know, I go see my family, he goes to see his. And it is very tricky. And it is very tricky. And if you have to travel or if you have families that are close by and you have to try and do all of it, you know, lunch here, dinner there, like, that could be four Christmases. Yeah, exactly. When I was watching Four Christmases, and I've seen it so many times, but when I was watching, I looked at Joe and they were going on to place number three. And I was like, there's just no way they fit all this in one day. You know, there's just so much happening. Christmas Mass, Christmas play, breakfast. Like, I was like, there's no way this was all one day. There's no way they could have done this all in one day. Just logistically, this couldn't have been one day. But it did. It was making me laugh. But yeah, it is tricky to figure that out. I think a lot of newlyweds feel that way as well, where it's. You're used to having your holidays your way and you get married you have to make some adjustments and either create new traditions or blend traditions. And I grew up always doing like the one year on, one year off kind of thing, which, which is basically what we're trying to do now of like Thanksgiving with my dad's side, Christmas with my mom's side. Then the next year, Thanksgiving with my mom's side, Christmas my dad's side. And now we're just like, it's like, oh, we'll do Thanksgiving and then we'll. And then we'll flip it depending on where everybody is. But Covid really up the family schedule, at least on my family because we, we were a well oiled machine. It was like everybody had their in law and then the diff. Like it was everybody had it so that we're always on the same schedule with all my aunts and uncles. And then something happened where I was like, well, we can't travel so we're gonna see these people that are closer. And then it kind of changed everything. And now it's like a little messed up. Which is hence why I also had two other Christmases. But long way of saying I'm very excited to spend Christmas with my family. It'll be great. We are in New York, which is also kind of funky because we all are still in our own like spaces.

[Bria]

But.

[Fran]

But it'll be, it'll be lovely. I'm very excited for that. And then after that down to, down to Florida for some time. So I'm excited to get down there.

[Bria]

Yeah, that sounds lovely. And now Gia can't make a TikTok saying you won't be there.

[Fran]

Yeah. To be honest, you better make a tick tock of me like walking into Christmas.

[Bria]

Yeah. Like, she's here, she's here. Everyone's here. Don't worry, she's made it.

[Fran]

Don't worry. She's here on Christmas. So. And I'd say we. We don't even wake up in. We don't have a. Like we don't spend Christmas in Florida where my parents live. So it's like we're not waking up. It's not like we're waking up in the same house.

[Bria]

Right. It's just like.

[Fran]

Well, just. Yeah. The Christmas feeling.

[Bria]

Yeah. The dinner.

[Fran]

Yeah, exactly.

[Bria]

I guess being the youngest, like I. I'm already used to all that. You know what I mean? Like where it's like Gia is now was experiencing for the first time. Like I had been experiencing that years ago with both my siblings. Like I remember feeling that same way years ago being like, damn, no One's around.

[Fran]

It's just me. Yep.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

Yep. Yeah. I think Gia had, like, a fairly dark Christmas. One year of them, like, driving some. I forget where they were going, but it just was a. Not all the plan. Something went awry and everything went wrong.

[Bria]

And, like, their Christmas and my siblings aren't here.

[Fran]

Yeah. Like, I think they had, like, Domino's in a hotel room. Like, it was not. Not the. Not what she thought Christmas was going to be that year. But I forget. I forget when that was.

[Bria]

Yeah, probably.

[Fran]

Probably lockdown of some. Some sort.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

Because then one year, everybody at the flu, never forget Christmas of maybe 2016, I think. 2016. I had a. Like, I forget what exactly. I forget, like, the right name for it. Some sort of, like, colitis. Like something like that. That was just a disaster. Like, Christmas Eve, I went to bed, woke up. It was not good. Not to be graphic. Coming out of all ends. And then it's like. Then I almost, like. I, like, basically passed out in the bathroom floor. And in the morning, my. My mom, I think, like, found me in the bathroom. It was not good. And they. They called the ambulance because I was, like, so out of it, and I. I think it was blood. It was. It was not good. Like, I said, graphic. Don't need to share everything. But I literally go to the hospital Christmas morning, which throws off the Christmas. I'm laying in the hospital bed, hooked up to the iv. Like, they're like, oh, it's all these things. I had a too much amoxicillin that year. I was nannying that year, and I got strep throat like, four times.

[Bria]

Oh, my gosh.

[Fran]

It was really bad. Yeah. And then I was always taking amoxicillin, and I. Up my stomach.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

And I get it. We get a text from Gia in the family group chat. That's like, when you coming home? I want to open presents.

[Bria]

Oh, my God. Wow.

[Fran]

It's like, I'm gonna kill you.

[Bria]

Oh, my God. That's insane.

[Fran]

And she was 1999. She was 7. Like, 16, 17. Just like that peak, bratty teen. Just like, when are we gonna open presents?

[Bria]

Yeah, like, Francesca's fine. When are we opening presents?

[Fran]

I'm in the hospital. I was taking out Christmas morning in an ambulance. Christmas is canceled. Okay.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

Christmas is canceled.

[Bria]

Open your damn presents and shut up. Oh, that's funny. Oh, man.

[Fran]

But yeah. Yeah. But yeah, you're. We're. We're. We're similar paths. Like, obviously Christmas local.

[Bria]

And then, yeah, Christmas will be with my family. Same thing. And Then we're going to Florida with Matt's family for like that New Year's Eve week, which we have done for the past. We've spent like now it's sort of becoming like a tradition where we, like, spend that New Year's Eve week together. We did it the past two years. And my family's like, well, if you're gonna spend a week with the Cahills after, you know, right after Christmas, don't you wanna spend some time with your family? I'm like, absolutely, I do. So that'll be very nice. You know, Christmas Eve and Christmas with my family. But it's not like my mom and my dad's side, they combine, right?

[Fran]

Everybody's together.

[Bria]

Like, everyone's together.

[Fran]

Yeah.

[Bria]

So it's not like, oh, just my mom's side or just my dad's side, which is nice.

[Fran]

Cause everybody's just more. Everybody's local. Yeah.

[Bria]

And you're just seeing them. You see them Christmas Eve and you wake up, you're seeing them on Christmas Day.

[Fran]

Yeah, we used to do that Christmas Day. We used to host Christmas Day. And we'd have everybody that was like my. Just the. My aunts and uncles that were closer to where we live versus the South Jersey aunts and uncles where it's a little further. Further for them to travel.

[Bria]

I'm very excited though, some, you know, nice holiday time, family time, just spending that quality time. And now I have cutie little babies in my family that are, you know, first Christmas. First Christmas. And you know, we call him a Mikey. Yeah, Mikey. That is my brother and sister in law, son. And then, you know, Luca, like, he's very aware now, so seeing him on Christmas, you know, knowing things is. Is gonna be really cute.

Is someone gonna be like a fake Santa for him?

[Bria]

That's a good question.

I remember like our grandpa did that when we were younger.

[Bria]

Yeah. Should I tell. Should I tell my dad?

[Noah]

Oh, yeah.

It's your turn, papa. Oh, my God. No, I'm. I am really excited to see those little munchkins for. For Christmas, but. And then just Florida after and getting some hot. Getting some hot weather because it's frigid here.

It's been so cold. It hit like 45. Like, like I said this when I was walking out of my building, cuz I thought, oh, it's nice out. It's 40 degree. It's like, feel like I don't need my big winter jacket because it's been 10°.

[Bria]

Yeah, that's true. It did feel like you stepped out onto the beach.

[Fran]

I took Olive to walk for a walk this morning. I was like, oh, my God, we can actually, like, walk.

[Bria]

Yeah.

[Fran]

Because we go outside and I was like, this fuck. I'd like to go back inside, please.

[Bria]

Yeah, my parents have been in Florida and they're coming home at the end of this week. And my dad was like, so how's the weather? Like, what do I got to be worn for? I said, it is fucking freezing. Freezing like there. I got nothing. I'm not going to sugarcoat it for you. You're going to be miserable when you land back here. I know it. I know you. You're going to hate this.

[Fran]

My mom came up for the Philly show. I always laugh because I'm like. And she has some stuff. But I'm like, how quick, how quickly you forget. You lived up here for a long time. You went through a lot of winters. Now she comes up here, she brings like a heavy sweater as her jacket. And I'm like, you're gonna freeze your ass off. Where's your coat? I don't have one. Okay, well, get one.

[Bria]

You know, people don't talk about this enough. Their parents like, temperature changing as they get older. Yeah. Recently, when snowbirds, they forget.

[Fran]

They forget what winter is. They're like, oh, my God, like you lived up here your entire life.

[Bria]

Exactly. Matt and I visited his parents in Florida. Maybe it was a couple months ago. I forget. The temperature in which they had in their house was so shocking. It was like high 70s. Oh. And we, we, we sat down. We guys smoking.

[Fran]

You guys out.

[Bria]

What's going on in here? They're like, oh, we're the perfect temperature. Is it the perfect temperature? The perfect temperature.

[Fran]

Such a, it's such a. It's a close afford. When they go from, you know, it really. It's like the progressive commercials. It's like, what? You know, it's like you, you. When you're turning into your parents and it's just like you being like sneaky. Turning up the thermostat to 78 and, and everyone being like, what are you doing? You're like, I'm cozy.

[Bria]

Yeah. No, I, we. We were stunned at the temperature. Like, it's so hot in this house.

[Fran]

So classic.

[Bria]

Yeah, that, that New York, that New York to Florida. But we'll be doing that. We'll be, we'll be living that life in, in a week from now, which is. Will be lovely. But then we'll be back. Yep. And I'm already excited to return. A nice little break. We'll feel refreshed. We'll be ready to go. Lots of chocolate.

But kind of brings us into, you know, the, the top moments of 2025. When we talked about doing this, we were like, should we just do pop culture? Do we do Internet viral moments? Yeah, I think we decided we would.
