We are in full Winter Olympics mode. It really is just nice to always have something to throw on the telly.

It really is. And during the day, you know, like I have a roti, by the way, I have a rotation of sweaters that will be making its way through for the next couple weeks. But waking up and it's always different because it depends on where the Olympics are. So we've had years where it's like it's a full day ahead almost. But this, you know, they're in Italy, so they're what, six hours ahead. And waking up in the morning, you get all the afternoon events and then the big events are on in the afternoon. I feel like it creates A camaraderie. People have it on in their office. If you have TVs in your office, you have the games on, or you work from home, you can throw it on and just stay in tune. And then of course, it's on primetime as well. So you get to watch it all again if you missed it during the day.

[Rhea]

Exactly. It's really been such a delight.

[Fran]

It really does. It's not an ad.

I love, I love the Olympics, but.

Waking up Saturday morning, being able to throw it on, it's so nice. Yesterday, midday on Monday, we get home a little bit earlier. Throw it on. I honestly had like a really nice nap as I was watching it, and then wake back up, you see what the results are. There's also nothing like catching. And I know this is obviously not what you are rooting for when watching the Olympics, but when you catch a fall live, when you're watching, whether it's whatever sport it is, obviously I'm not referring to the Lindsey Von Fall, obviously, but you know what you mean when you, when you. When there's a favorite out there and.

[Fran]

All of a sudden there's something happens.

[Rhea]

There's something happens. There's a slip up. It's just drama.

[Fran]

It's. It's drama, but it's also soul crushing. Like, I have a really hard, really hard time watching when that happens.

[Rhea]

But it. Yes, but it gets you involved a little bit.

[Fran]

Well, you're just.

You don't want them to get hurt.

[Noah]

I'm not rooting for horrible injury. I'm rooting for like a fun little crash.

[Rhea]

Well, that's exactly what I was just bringing up was that I know that way at all. I am watching. And what I'm referring to was the freestyle skiing and Beijing was the favorite and. Or when I was watching and it was her time and she went first one up, went down and it was a wash for her. Swiss started taking a victory lap and I was like. And Beijing kind of threw her. Threw her hands up in the air and was like. And she was smiling. She was like, I missed that one. And you're just like, wow. You know, like, it's just so much pressure on these athletes.

[Fran]

Anything could happen.

[Rhea]

But the thing is, anything could happen. That's, I think, the thrill of it. It's like somebody may be the favorite, but then somebody swoops right in there.

[Noah]

Sounds like the Herb Brooks miracle speech.

[Fran]

Yeah.

[Rhea]

You just never know what could happen.

Yeah.

And you obviously feel so bad for these athletes. They put in so Much time and effort. It's all consuming. It takes up their entire life. And then one little moment. Boom. Can change everything.

[Fran]

Yeah. It just kills me because it's like, you know, it's only every four years, so it's like, you know, if you miss your moment and maybe you're more towards the end of your career, like, that's it. And that is just heartbreaking to watch. A lot of the times when you're like, oh, my God, that was the moment. But the bad feeling or the guy, when they hit it.

[Rhea]

Yeah. The best feeling is when they hit it and when they get that rush and you see the smile on their faces that they did it, and you're just like. You're so happy for them. They accomplish this moment. But then the scores come in. I'm talking about figure skating now. I was watching the rhythm.

[Fran]

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[Rhea]

Which, by the way, I'm back on the ice dancing stuff because of finding her edge. The show that I watched on Netflix was, you know, were they figures, Were they ice dancers? But the sister was solo. And so, you know, they. They look down upon ice dancers. They're like, oh, you're just a mere ice dancer. You know, you don't do the solo. Yeah. And so I was into the ice dancing because I'm like, oh, shit. This is like, finer edge. What's the drama? We got couples. We got people who are married. We got people who don't like each other. Yeah. And you just get so into it, and when they crush it and then they go back and they see their score, and you're just. And it's just, womp, womp. You're like, what the.

What the hell? You know, apparently we have an evil French duo.

The French duo in ice dancing. Bad news is bad news. And they're number one.

Because I was watching the U.S. teams.

And obviously, I'm like, well, they're fantastic. Yeah. You know, you're rooting for them heavily.

And they just have such a better story too. You know, they've been together for so many years as partners, and then they started dating, fell in love, and they're married. They're so cute. Maddie and they are. And Evan and they're adorable. They're.

A little moment for the moms. Yeah, they're so cute. So cute. But no, you want them to have their big moment. When I was watching the team event for figure skating, the pair team, I was listening to Tara and Johnny commentate and they were like, so happy for them because they were like, this is the best I have seen them in competition in years. And you're just like, so great. They're like, they're having their Olympic moment. They're doing it now. I know. Like, hey, I know everyone has their opinions on Jake Paul, and he certainly hasn't shut the fuck up recently. And he continues to mouth off in not a good way. No, not a good way.

God, he is so annoying.

[Fran]

He can be so insanely annoying. But his fiance is a Dutch speed skater, Juta. And if you watch the show. Which we did.

She's a really, really. She's really a dedicated athlete. And, you know, she's competed in the Olympics before and everything was riding on this Olympics for her. This was probably her last Olympics, really.

I was really trying to separate him from the moment. I was like, you know what? She on the show has. Has been so dedicated to her sport and training and wanting this so badly. And like I'm taking Jake out of it for a second. Very happy for her for accomplishing that dream, you know.

By the way, crazy thing, the goalie for the women's US Hockey team is from my town. Like her brother was on my hockey team growing up.

She's always been like insane.

Because the weather was so. It was so windy and cold on Saturday that I saw videos that were posted on, like, New York City Instagram accounts of these owners, like, trying to get their dogs into the Javits Center. And they're, like, in these big crates, but they're, like, blowing over. Like, they're like. They're trying to cross the side. I walk and, like, they're blowing over and they're trying to hold onto the crates. I was like, this is madness.

I would not be surprised if a dog, an animal, or a human did blow away on Saturday.

[Fran]

I thought that when I thought with Olive, I was like, she go.

I thought I was lifted out on my feet for a second.

It was funny. Like, when you pull up to the Javits center, like, you see, like, I saw, like, a couple of Bernese, like, walking the sidewalk. It's like they're all, like, headed to the big game.

How many of each breed are normally there?

It depends. But some of them, like, have, like, five, six. Like, there's, like, a lot. And then, like, I think they take shifts, you know, like, you always, like, in the back.

It's a long, overstimulated. If I Don't know how they do it. Like, it's just constant, like, people coming in. Some dogs like it more than others. I'm sure. But. Yeah.

I have the list right here. It's Brandon Armstrong, Lindsay Arnold, Riley Arnold Allen, Haley. Which is Jenna's cousin. Yeah. Or niece. Niece. Hannah Brown, Sharna Whitney, Val, Sasha, Danielle Fishel, Sochi Gomez, Joey Grass a Day, Elaine Hendricks, Rashad Jennings, Jenna Daniela, Amanda Kloots, Whitney Levitt, Phaedra Parks. And then Dancing with the Stars judges Carrie Annunaba and Bruno will be there as well. I'm sure they'll have other surprise guests that they've mentioned, but they said they'll be live dances. But I did see sort of a little bit of a backlash because people thought that the live show was hard to get. And now they're like, oh, this is gonna be even harder because it's in Palm Springs and it's convention and all.

Just like travel wise and you too.

Right. But at the end of the day, it's another convention. Just like they do with Brav Con or. Or Comic Con or Jonas Con. It's a thing. And if you are a dedicated.

Everybody loves a con these days, Right.

And if you want to spend your money in this place, then. Then you'll do that. And if you don't, then you won't. So for sure. I think it's another added element to the Dancing with the Stars craze right now.

Yeah, exactly. It's just a fun way to celebrate all the seasons and everything that they've been through. And I feel like it's just. It's one weekend, you know, It's. They'll see how it goes. And I'm sure. And I'm sure they could go. Go from there, but it's like anytime something's on the west coast, the east coast, people are like, oh, my God, it's on the West Coast. That's far. Vice versa. Like, if it was in New York, the. But they'd be like, ah, it's in New York. Like, it's far for us. So it's just.

But I'm excited for you to see Raider City. It's awesome. I think that since they're on tour, I remember seeing at the Beat when they started, that they weren't able to. I think, like, people would wait for a lot of them outside the stage doors after shows and they would, like, sign things and chat, whatever, maybe some pictures. And I think they haven't been able to do that this year. Or at least early on, they weren't able to do it.

They stepped back from doing it to avoid getting sick during the flu season, which was running rampant.

I do not blame them on that at all. I don't blame them. They're dancing up there.

And you need to be healthy to do that.

It's physically exhausting. They gotta take care of their bodies.

And you could just see it on her face. Like the idea slapped her in the face. She's like, like jaw dropped. And she did it all in Such a cute way. I thought the concept was amazing. He cracks me up. I mean, it's so fair to not want to just jump on the train of spending your. Your money for something that you don't even know if you're gonna like.

Absolutely. And it couldn't be more fair when the tickets are so expensive.

These tickets are just so expensive. Like, tickets are so expensive to go see a show that it's not really. And it's hard because it is such a commitment. Because it's like the way it goes these days with a lot of the times is like, if you don't get the tickets right when they go on sale, it can be a challenge. So it's one of those things where it's like you really kind of have to commit to knowing. You either really love the artist or you're just gonna enjoy the show anyway. But, yeah, there are certain people that I'll buy tickets blind no matter what. But I think that's super fair to, like, want to hear the new album and see what they have. Especially for artists that don't have, like, a massive discography that you're like, majority of the show is going to be the new album because there isn't that much else.

So I just saw a clip of John Mayer actually today talking to Matthew McConaughey about, like, if he ever did a tour. It was talking about how, like, he has to play certain songs at shows. So she was supposed to get married in November, and she had posted pictures in December and was like, well, November wasn't the month I pictured, but it was still a special one thanks to these beautiful people with a bunch of, you know, pictures that she had posted. And they, you know, whatever. They pivoted to different things and just canceled. I forget when exactly they called off the wedding. Wedding, October 2025. Olivia announced she and Alex had decided to cancel their November wedding. It's a month before.

[Rhea]

Right. That's something. Something happened. They got cold feet. I don't know what happened, but I just know that that wouldn't Sit right with me. Yeah.

Yeah. Because that. I just, like, don't think I'd be able to.

To still date the person because it's like, on both sides. If I'm the one that was getting cold feet and calling off the wedding or whatever, like, isn't that speaking volumes on how I really feel? And why would you want to still date that person?

And then if someone called it off on you, I'd be like, oh, you don't want to be with me?

Yeah. Like, if he was like, I don't think we really should get married in a month, but I think we should keep dating. It's like.

Like yoga. You don't want to. You don't want to commit to me. Yeah.

And it's not like it's. It wasn't, you know, a six month whirlwind, let's get engaged kind of thing. They had been dating for a little while, so, yeah. Definitely a little bizarre, you know, teach their own. But this is not something that I would probably do.
