Over the course of his career, his time Kurt Signetti at James Madison, he had 239 catches, 365, 3650 yards, 44 touchdowns and the 5622 beat down of the Ducks. I ain't never saw that much duck poop in a long time. But I've known him, I'm from the country and I know about duck Ponds. I ain't never seen that much duck spread out all over the field. Seven receptions, 75 yards and two touchdowns. Elijah, let me ask you this. Watching you guys didn't start out the season. We had Elijah on earlier this year. I mean d' Angelo Ponds, we had him on took one, took the playback. But watching you guys say like the last four to five weeks of the season yourself, Becker, the other guys, you guys do a great job of high pointing the football. You guys do a great job of catching the ball in your hands. Y' all don't drop ish. What do you contribute that you have? Yeah, Mendoza was dropping dimes last night, but a lot of times, I mean, I mean the guy got eight touchdowns and five incompletions. What, what would you attribute your success? You guys Success of catching the football at the rate at which you guys catch it.
F
Yeah.
E
First, like you just said, my boy. My boy Fernando, he put that thing on the money every single time. I would drop down nine times out of 10. And then it's just. Just the work we put in weekend and week out. For real. For real. Coach Shannon, my receiver coach do. Do a great job emphasizing we bigger guys so, you know, you use our body, use our hands, man. So nine times out of 10, corners are usually not. Not as big as me or. I don't come around someone who's same size as me all the time. Like, just using my hands, man. That's what make me good. Like, I pride myself on reaching out. Even. Even if someone on me. I tell my quarterback, my receiver to my quarterback, we comfortable with making catches with guys on us.
A
Give me a chance.
E
It's just that attitude. And then we get a lot of work in after practice on the jug. So really. Really a testament to the work we put in.
C
Yeah. Hey, another thing I wanted to ask too. Most of the time when you play a team twice, especially in the same season, you're obviously. You familiar with each other and what you guys like to do. You're familiar with tendencies, but most of the time and. And beating the team twice in one season is very difficult. Now, you understood going to this game, it would be a difficult challenge. Well, we thought those watching, including myself, I thought it would be a difficult challenge. And if you were going to. To win that game, you would have to almost play perfect as opposed to how you did last time. Did you think the game would go the way it did this time? The second go round?
E
I'm gonna be honest. I'm. I'm. I'm always confident in my guys winning. Like, I believe we gonna win every single game, but, like, tell you we was gonna go out there and. And do that. I mean, that. That was. That was like, kind of surprising. But.
C
Okay, okay, okay.
E
A little bit. But they. Yeah, just because, you know, they. They knew what we was doing. I knew what they was gonna make their adjustments. They ran a lot of man the first game, so I wasn't sure. And we. We kind of. We handled it well. All the receivers. So I ain't know if it was gonna come out run, man. Again, but first play, they line up in my face pressing. So I was like, all right, here we go. I mean, you already know Ocho lady. That's one on one. That's what.
C
Yeah, you got to have it. You got to have it.
E
Yeah. You like.
A
Oh, y' all playing one on one. Don't come feet.
E
Yeah, one on ones. You ain't really gonna play too much and play too much ball, so we did a good job of handling that, for sure.
A
Elijah, your father gave you the nickname Waffle House because you always open, you know, at Waffle House. I don't know how they are in Indiana, but down south, they begin. They can get. They. They bump and grind a little bit.
E
In there, so definitely, man, they only got too many waffle houses in Indiana. I'm from Virginia, so, like, I grew up with waffle houses around me, so I'm used to that. But, yeah, you know how I get there? Late night?
C
Yeah.
A
Oh, yeah, for sure. Absolutely. I really, really, though. Let me ask you this. So what. What's your. What's your meal at Waffles? You get the waffles or do you get the diced and scattered or smothered? How you doing it?
E
All star all star breakfast. Always. Not like every single time. Getting that all star breakfast. Waffle grits, then some bacon with. With scrambled eggs. I put the bacon and eggs and the grits and then.
A
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
C
You mixing it?
A
You mix me?
E
Yeah.
C
So my. My waffle House order, I get a sausage, egg and cheese on raisin. I get a waffle, and obviously I get the orange juice.
A
That.
C
That's it. But that sauce, egg and cheese on raisin bread, is. Is awesome. For those of you in the chat that haven't had it, people be hating.
E
On it, talking about it look a little dirty in there, man. You just gotta go in there, sit down.
A
That's the best place to eat.
C
Hey, best place to eat. Hey, when. Hey, when it come to soul food spots or any mom and pop spots where it's not all, you know, done up real.
A
I don't want no big soul food spot. I want it cramped.
C
Yeah, yeah. Yes, sir. I want two chairs. That's it. Yeah, two chairs. That's the best place to go eat.
E
And you put me on to a spa country kitchen down in Indy. I seen you do a video tour.
A
Do it slap. Do it slap.
E
My brother down there. That thing like that.
A
Yeah, yeah, Good. I do not go to Indy without going there.
E
Yeah.
A
I call. Hey, I'm on my way. Okay, Shannon.
E
Yeah.
A
Oh, man. Hey, but I'm looking at you guys. Look. You got one more. You got one more game. This is the most important game. Well, Ohio State was the most important game. Yes, you took care of that. Alabama was the next important game. You took Care of that. The Ducks were the next more. But as you go along, as you go further and further, you know, they get more and more important. You understand? You guys got an opportunity to do something. This will be the greatest turnaround in football history from what you guys were to what you guys are. And it doesn't look like you're slowing down. What's you guys mindset? Monday, you're a week away from playing, your dreams realized. I don't even know if you could have realized this when you were coming out of high school. Like, man, an opportunity to play for a national championship.
C
Wow.
E
Yeah, it's crazy. It's crazy. It's coming from where I'm from, playing the national championship. Really just blessed. Gotta thank a man above for allowing me to be in this position. But really, mindset, mindset. The same has been all year. Like, train Trina's game just like we did any other game. I know that's like a saying, but, like, nah, that's really, really what we stand on. We got a great, great group of vets in there that know what our goal was all year. So we're gonna go in there, practice all week, stack them days up, lean up to Monday, and then just go to work. I feel like if we put that work in the days before lean up to Monday, then we'll put ourselves in a good position for sure.
C
Yeah, I. I don't. I don't mean to be in y' all business as far as scheduling concerned, as far as when y' all do travel, when you do travel here, are you here ahead of time or you do all the practicing down in Indiana and you come in the day before the game?
E
Yeah, usually coach say he likes to leave as late as possible, but since, like, since the bowl games and stuff, we done left a couple days earlier, so. But still, as as long. Whatever day he can lead the latest, that's what day we gonna leave. So Thursday, Friday, we're gonna have a couple. We may have, like, one down there, but for the most part, we're gonna try to finish everything before we get.
C
Okay.
A
They normally probably require you guys to get down there, like 48 hours before kickoff. They don't want. They don't want any hiccups. 13 of your 30 transfers ahead of the 2024 season came from James Madison. You guys, Aiden Fisher, cornerback, d' Angelo Pons, yourself. I mean, what was it about? What was it about iu, of all the places that you potentially could have gone. Indiana.
E
Yeah, it's crazy. I ain't Gonna lie like coming out the Porter. At first, I like I was. I told myself I was gonna go to Indiana. I want to go down south somewhere a little warm. But just going. I went on my visit up there, you know, I already knew the coaching staff, strength staff was a played a big part as well. Derrick Owens, I don't know if y' all know him, but he won the best strength coaches in the game. Like, he didn't help me with my body. We communicate real well. And then my receiver coach, offensive coordinator, Coach Shannon is now he's going to be able to get me that rock. So it really was the best, best spot for me. Just being comfortable and knowing the scheme and everything.
C
That's dope.
A
What was the pitch when you went in there? You say you. Obviously your first choice wasn't go. Sometimes the first choice, the best choice is not always the first choice, but it ended up being the best choice.
E
Yeah.
A
What was this pitch? What did he tell you to convince you? I use the place for me.
E
Yeah. So you're gonna go on first. You're gonna go with Coach Segos. You're gonna have his feet kicked up. You're gonna be sitting back like this, chilling. And then you just let you, like, you know. You know what I do, you know what I'm about. One thing I say, like, what he preaches, what he really stand on. So I appreciate that from Coach Sig. And he's like, man, let's just do it. We were winning last year at jmu, and I believe we can do the same thing over here. And he's like, I'm get you that rock. I'm gonna take care of you. So that's really all I needed to hear. I shook his hand, and then we. We just went from there.
A
Do that, man smile. I mean, God damn, he writes something down. I don't think he write nothing down on that little pad either. I'm just saying that. Don't tell him I said that. But I don't think he write nothing down.
E
Nah, he.
A
How y' all see him.
E
That's. That's usually how he is. He'll crack you. He'll crack your little smile right now. And the funny thing about him, he'll, like. He'll, like, yell at you and then try to give you a little smirk after, like. Like, we all cool and all, but rarely smiles, though. He rarely smiles.
C
It's dope. I. I got one request being. Being that y' all coming here to my hometown in Miami. If y' all get here early, Enough. I'm not sure when it will be. I need to, I would love the opportunity to meet the receiver group, meet, meet the receiver coach. If, if it's a possibility. I, I, I just want to meet y', all, man, shake some hands and take some pictures. I'm gonna be a groupie, you know, because I, I ain't really won too much, so I just want to, I want to be around winners for a change. So if we can make that possible, you know, let me know, you know, that. That's pretty much it. That's all I got for tonight.
E
I got a request, then I got, I'll be seeing the workshop that you be doing and all that.
C
Come on.
E
Trying to get down there one time, get some good work in, man.
C
Let's go. All, all the young NFL, all, you know, all the veterans, young NFL receivers, everybody be down at the wide receiver workshop in July, so, so come on down here, bro.
E
I think Courtland Sutton down there.
C
Yeah, big, big set was up there.
E
Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
C
Man, you, you more than welcome, man. Most definitely. You're more than welcome, man. We come out there, politic, man, talk, talk the game, you know, talk some of the things you might struggle with that, that we can't see that, you know, you need to work on. And we have a good time.
E
Yeah, for sure.
A
Elijah, man, congratulations on the unbelievable season. Continue success, Stay healthy. You got one more game. One more. And hey, that one. And once you win a championship, you will forever be a champion, no matter what happens. And it's always great to be the first. This class is, they'll remember this class because you guys were the first in a very long time to win a Big Ten championship. You guys will be the first to win a national championship. And bro, hey, you're immortal. You're legends forever. So best of luck, congratulations, and we'll see you down the road. We look forward to seeing you at the wide receiver workshop.
E
For real. For real. Much love. Appreciate y'. All.
A
Appreciate you, man. Elijah Surat, WIDE Receiver, IU Support for.

They won the national championship. My cousin who got that pick? Ocho. My cousin Jamari Sharp.
C
Hey yo man, you don't know him.
A
There you go. Now he ain't my cousin now. He ain't my cousin.
C
You know you ain't no kin to him. You know, we. Hey, that where you from then where you from?
A
He a Sharp. That's all you need to know.
C
Hey, hey, actually, he from Miami. He from. He from down here.
A
I got some relatives down there. No, you don't. I know I got really. Down there in Cocoa Beach. All down. Yeah, down there. Cocoa Beach? Yeah.
C
Cocoa Beach.
A
Yeah.
C
Ain't none of us down in no Cocoa Beach.
A
Whoa, whoa. Y' all hold on. Ain't like y' all inhabited. Like y' all landed on Miami. The Johnson. Oh, so now you not all y' all Johnsons in Miami.
C
Yeah, listen, Flowers, Johnson, Rose, Franklin. Yeah, we don't. We dominate down here in the side in Miami. Hey, matter of fact, I might be wrong. I'm asking probably to check that. I think he is from Florida. Ask if you could check that. You got to fact check me before people jump on top of my head now.
A
No. Jamari Sharp.
C
Jamari Sharp.
A
I think he is Jamari Sharp. He undercut a deep rod. I don't know. I don't know if Beck was thinking he was going to back shoulder him or what, because the receiver that last play.
C
Yeah, you came back shoulder that in the safety in the middle of the field.
A
You got to be. That's got to be a sideline throw.
C
He got to let that go. He got to let it go.
A
Oh, he went to my. He went to Northwestern. He is from Miami.
C
He went to school with. He went. That's Teddy Bridgewater. Yeah, yeah. I knew he from the crib.
A
But they won a national championship after what we thought, many thought was a Cinderella season last year. They went up last year. They won up the first team. Aren't they the first team to go a perfect 16 0. No team has ever won 16 games. I think the most was 15. Clemson won 15 and I think LSU won 15. But now you got the college football playoffs now once again won the Big Ten championship and they won three games in the college. In the playoffs. Now here we are, we have a team that's won 16 games.
C
Now that's. That's crazy.
A
Kurt Signetti, take a bow. What you've been able to do with this program in a short span of two years.
C
Yes.
A
No, nobody can boast what they've done. I. Look, I understand that there have been some programs, some turnarounds, but not like this, Ocho.
C
No, not that fast.
A
Let's talk about the game and we'll talk about the Program of the look. Okay, let me get Mendelza Stack Mendoza was 16 of 27, 186. Kaylan Black was 17 of 79. Roman Henry was 19 of 60. So they ran the ball 43 times. 4 buck 32. Carson Beck was 19 of 32, 232, one touchdown, one interception. Mark Fletcher Jr. Continued his heart, heart, heart. Streaks. 17 carries, a buck 12 and two touchdowns. He took off that long 57 yard run to get him back in the game. Malachi Tony 10 catches, a buck 22 and a touchdown. Let's take Indiana first and then we'll talk about. Hey, go ahead, take it away.
C
That goddamn. Listen. Fernando Mendoza. I had opportunity to see him in, in high school down here at Columbus High School. He was good. I didn't know he would turn out to be what he is now. Cuban American. Obviously. His parents are from Cuba, his grandparents are from Cuba and I'm not sure is he. I mean obviously he would be the first Heisman winner to be Cuban American born. Right? No, I mean be the first, maybe the first Cuban quarterback to actually win also a national championship. I mean he put that team on his back when they had to have it. That's fourth down. That was fourth down. That quarterback sneak.
A
Yes. Quarterback draw.
C
I in the hell. Who called you talking about a ballsy call.
A
That's Signetti.
C
Hey, listen, that's the one thing you don't expect with as far as they have to go to score. I wasn't expecting that.
A
Oo, it's 4th and 5. You're not even expecting them to go for it. My, my point is, let alone the play that they call.
C
Listen, listen, that was a great play. Mendoza right there when he got that ball and took off that, that moment in, in his effort to make sure I, I'm going to score by any means necessary and jumping and diving and just, you know, putting, putting him, putting his body itself in harm's way, putting the ball in harm's way just to get that touchdown. That lets you know how much this game meant to him to ensure that he did win the game.
A
Ocho when you would. And I tweeted, I said that call forget. Okay, you go forward on fourth down and you're in a dog fight and you know, you really haven't been able to stop Miami in the second half. So you know, you're in a dog fight fight and points it at a premium.
C
Yes.
A
So the mere fact that he went for it and then the play that he called to go to get it. Hey, I said, man, Signetti. Hey, Sigs. Walking around with. With pumpkins.
C
Heavy. Heavy. That's slightly disrespectful. As good as. As good as the Hurricane defense played tonight. Obviously, they. They were a. Ben, but don't break defense. You're going to make some plays, obviously in the air, on the ground. You. You're going to have some plays. But to call that on 4th and 4th, 4th and 5. And expect to get it as. Especially with that. With that. With that front four. I mean, come on, man. That. That was a great call. That was a gutsy call. Very, very gutsy.
A
Ocho, this the distance. For me, it was the distance. 4th and 1. Ocho. I ain't got no problem.
C
I get it. I get it. Yes.
A
I think you and I in agreements with that. Fourth and one.
C
Yes.
A
Oh, Joe. That's fourth and five. Fourth and five. And then the play in which he called. Nobody saw this coming because you're like, hey, this ain't no running down. And then for him, he breaks the tackle. He runs into another guy. Now he's got the first down to that point. He said, but I ain't satisfied. I'm greedy. I'm gonna get sweepstakes. I've already got the first. Let me. And he lays out. He knows he's gonna take it. He, he. And then he brings it back in. He takes the shot in the back. That was a hell of a call.
C
Very.
A
I don't want to be a coach, but I just know this. I ain't going for it on the 4th and 5 in that situation. I'm taking that damn field goal.
C
I'm just.
A
I'm just being honest. Yeah, I'm taking the field goal. And I think a lot of other people would have taken the field goal on fourth and five.
C
And I'm gonna trust my defense. My defense has played well all night. I'm gonna trust my defense and let them. And let them finish the game off. But, man, that, that was nice. Mendoza played really well. Goddamn. Cooper was Bald. He had five for 71. Malachi. Tony did what he could offensively. They kind of. They kind of kept him balled up, especially in the first half. He. He. He got alive. And they, they put Malachi in position to make some plays in the second half. But. But it, it, it. It wasn't enough. Carson Beck on that throw, I. I wish he would have let it out. Let it go. I'm talking about.
A
You gotta let it go.
C
Let it out there. It was almost like a cover 2. Look, in a sense, the corner Stayed outside, knowing he had help on the inside, so that the receiver was kind of sandwiched. He was kind of sandwiched in a sense. I'm not sure why Beck chose to go that way.
A
And it's got Ocho. It's got to be one of those. It's got to be over here. Because that safety is coming now.
C
Oh, yeah, he coming.
A
Yeah, now he's coming. Because if you. If you just throw it in the line in which he's on, it's going to be a collision, and he's going to have to hold on to it. I would have preferred, like you said, lead him, but I will lead him over here, because if I leave. Leave it right here, that safety gonna bust his head.
C
And in the simple fact. The DB was very smart. The DB was very smart on that. At the snap of the ball, he purposely used the sideline as his friend and widen all the way out. So the receiver had no choice but to go inside.
A
But release inside.
E
Yes.
C
So the receiver reaches inside and it made it. It put. They put. They put the goddamn safety right in position where he wanted to be. The only way the receiver had a chance to make a play is if Beck let that thing go all the way out there. Like a. Like. Similar to Like a Randy Moss.
A
Yes.
C
Tom Brady, Durandi Moss type throw. I'm letting. As far as I can.
A
And knowing what they do. Yeah, we threw the goal ball 42 and 4. The ball was 42 yards.
E
Yards.
A
4 yards.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Y' all had the red line back then.
A
I don't know, Ocho. Some people. Some people is. Is 44 and three something. I don't know, but I'm just saying, the way we did it. Yeah, it's 42 and four.
C
It's the same.
A
Two yards deep. Four yards. Is that what.
C
Yes, it's the same. It's the same. You. Y' all had the red line, too, back then. Yeah, y' all had the red line.
A
What'd you say, Ojo?
C
Y' all had the red line. You know, we had the red line painted on the practice field to let the receivers know the. The state. When you stack, you want to stack and stay on that red line, which was 4 yards from the sideline.
A
Ocho, I don't care where you release. You can release in there by the center. All I know is when. That. When that. When the ball. Jon's gonna let the ball go, it's gonna be 42 and 4. Yeah. So if you want to release inside, if you wanna run a shallow Cross and then get back out there. I don't care. Mike didn't care. Mike said you can release inside. You take the best release. But at the end of the day, I need your 42 and 4 and like you said, a job immediately. If I get you, I. I'm stacking you. I'm not just gonna run and just hope. No, no, no, no. I'm gonna stack your ass. Because now I can't have John to always have to make a perfect throw. Because if you don't stack him and you let that guy be in his hip, there's only one place John can throw it. It's gonna probably be a completion. And it's over here.
C
Over here.
A
Because if he put it like, here, he gonna chop.
C
Yeah. Yeah.
A
So I want him. And kind of like what Marvin Mills did. I'm. And if I have to slow down, you're gonna have to come through me to get this ball.
C
Yeah.
A
Ocho. I thought they let him play tonight. Man, Miami was real handsy. Oh, yeah, they were. They let him play, did they? I don't think they called the PI the whole night. Maybe I missed something.
C
Listen, they played it fair, though. They played it fair. Not only did they let him play, they were very handsy. And obviously I see that as. That as a part of football. So they were handsy, but none of the handsy. The handsiness impeded the receiver in being able to make a play the time.
A
Well, I thought of some of those stop routes. I was like, oh, my goodness.
C
Hey, hold on, hold on. Did you see at the beginning of the game, number five for Indiana?
A
Yeah.
C
Pond boy. But hey, hey, he nice.
A
Oh, yeah.
C
Hey, he's very Denzel Ward, like, just so.
A
Yeah, he's quick. He got quick feet.
C
Yeah. Yeah. I wasn't able to watch him the whole game, but just his technique and what he was able to do on that first play, I was like, okay. They get. They got some idea. I said, it's going to be a long night in the passing game, and if I don't. I don't have the stats in front of me, but if you look at how many yards the goddamn Hurricanes had at halftime, I understood it was going to be a long goddamn day.
A
Yeah. I mean, they gave up a block putt for a touchdown. You let them convert. I think they converted. Let me see. I know they could. I think they converted two fourth downs on that one drive. Now, I'm not sure how, and I think. What? Didn't I say that was the first time they had Gone for the fourth down in the college football playoffs. So in three games, just about everybody else was going for it. On fourth down, they've been so efficient, they didn't need to. They figured of getting everything they needed on first, second and third down. Three of 11. Okay. IU went for two. They two for two on fourth down. Indiana, you know, excuse me, um, three of 11 on. On third down, Ocho, that didn't help. Uh, IU was six to 15. They're normally a lot better than that. Uh, penalty. Seven for 65, 38, one turnover. And Indiana dominated. Time of possession, 36 minutes. A little over 36 minutes to a little under 24 minutes for the. For the. The Canes. But when you look at what Signetti has been able to do, he came from. If I'm not mistaken, he was on the staff with. You remember now, Ocho, he was on the staff with. With Coach Saban.
C
He was even.
A
Yes.
C
Man, everybody come from up under that tree. Always had success forever.
A
Smart, Lane, Kiffin, Loxley, Dan Lanning. Ocho, when you see that, when you see his tree. Ain't nobody in college football has ever had a tree like Nick, like Coach Saban. Yeah, yeah. Who else was. Who else was there? The guy that was at Florida, the head coach at Florida. He was there, if I'm not mistaken. I think he was the receiver coach. Oh, Crystal Ball was also on that staff.
C
Crystal Ball, too?
A
Yes. He was the O line coach. Dan Lanning was a grad assistant. Kirby Smart was the D coordinator. Mel Tucker was the db. Coach Loxley was there. Was the quarterbacks coach. All of them? Yes, all of them was there.
C
It's so funny. Everybody that's coming. Oh, Sarkeesian, everybody that's come under that coaching umbrella, up underneath Nick Saban has had success everywhere they went. Had some type of success everywhere they went.
A
Ocho. What? Look, I understand, like, some programs have been down, like what Jim. Jim Harbaugh was able to do with Michigan. But Michigan has always been Michigan. Yes, we know them from Coach Schembechler. Although they never won a national championship, but he always had them in contention.
C
Yes.
A
So what Jim Harbaugh was able to do, Revitalize a once dominant program. Indiana. Their first Big Ten title in 58 years. I wasn't born the last time they won a Big Ten championship. The first undefeated season in 80 years. My mom was 3 years old. The first Hoosier to win a Heisman Trophy. The first ever national champion, first ever number one ranking. And probably Mendoza is probably going to be the first number one overall pick from IU.
C
Absolutely.
A
Indiana National Championship included just eight four and five star recruits, while Miami had 45, four and five star recruits. If you go look at their program, what they did, they took a lot of guys from lower levels. James Madison, that situation. And brought them in. Guys that are already proven, that's already played at the college level. Damn, that potential. Y' all might be good. I already know. I've seen what you did at that level. Come on.
C
Yeah.
A
Because we heard we had Serato here. He said, hey, I played with him at jm. He said, you know what I'm about. Yeah, let's go get it done. And those guys came down. This. This is the most impressive thing that I've ever seen in college football.
C
How he was able to turn that program around so fast.
A
Yes. Cause even if you look at Auburn, Auburn is. Look, Auburn has had players. They had bold and they had guys. Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams, and they've had players. Andre Bruce was the number one overall pick in 1988. They've had players. What In. Prior to Cam, they had their Heisman Trophy winners. Bo won the Heisman. I think they had enough. Bo might been all, maybe Pat Sullivan. I think. Didn't Pat Sullivan win the Heisman Trophy? If I'm not mistaken, I think Pat Sullivan. They might have only two, but I think Sullivan won the Heisman Trophy. But we've seen nothing like this. Ocho. This is. This is. This is crazy.
C
Yeah.
A
This is crazy. What IU was able to do.
E
Yeah.
C
In such a short amount of time.
A
And now with the College Football Playoff, Ocho. Well, if such and such had made it, they wouldn't have beat this team. If that would have did this, they wouldn't have beat that team. Well, they beat. They beat Ohio State. They beat Alabama. They beat everybody that. That you put in front of them. They kick the ass.
C
Beat them.
A
Yeah.
C
Hold on. They beat him convincingly. They didn't. They didn't just. They didn't just sneak by. It was. There was no. No controversy. They beat everybody fair and square with no questions.
A
None. None. I don't know. We ain't. We ain't got nothing to really talk about from, um. Oh, I thought they got up to a slow start. I thought IU defense was playing a heck of a game. They was putting pressure on Beck, and then all of a sudden, they couldn't get any more pressure on Beck and had. And I'm like, bro, on third and 15, you bring a corner blitz. That's the time you play zone, now it's third and five, third and six. You rush three, drop eight, huh, Ocho? I don't care how. I don't care how many you drop. If you don't put pressure on the quarterback, guys gonna find dead areas.
C
Hey, every time, man, it's even easier. Zone, zone. If. If you got you a very smart receiver, understanding scheme and taxes and what you're trying to do defensively, it's easy to find the zone. It's just pitch and catch, pitch and catch, pitch and catch. Get your ass uphill or get down one of the other. Get out.
A
This was a heck of a game. This is what national. That ish. The ash alma mater got beat 65 to 7. And all these blowouts that we've had, that ain't what it's supposed to be. Nah, it's supposed to be this. You're supposed to be on. I don't know who's gonna win this game, Ocho.
C
Right? And matter of fact, you know, I was upset. I wanted to take my. My son to the game. Obviously, I looked at the ticket, I looked at the tickets, everything. 5,000, $7,000, and I chose not to go to the game. I told my son, you know, probably the best seat in the house is sitting at home watching it from. From tv. But for those people that were able to go to the game, regardless of the price this game today, regardless of how much the ticket was, it was worth the price of admission.
A
Are you sure this game was in Miami? Because I saw more. Way more red than I saw green and orange.
C
Are you sure?
A
Are you absolutely certain? Are you willing to put this on your 12 kids, that this game was in Miami?
C
The game was in Miami, but.
A
So why hold up there? So can I.
C
Can I tell you why? Can I tell you why?
A
Because.
C
Because they priced all the real fans out. They priced all the real fans out. That mean obviously the fans from Indiana, you know, hey, they know some people, you know, took their life savings. They took some money, they saved up, and they came and bought tickets, and.
A
Hopefully y' all ain't got no life savings.
C
I mean, we do, but we ain't gonna spend it on that.
A
Oh, y' all know what the outcome gonna be?
C
Nah, we. We. No, I.
A
You, football.
C
Oh, oh, now. Oh, now you're. Now you're a Hoosier fan all of a sudden?
A
Hey, oh, don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. I just need you. Hey, you just. I'm. Hey, you just go on and order that Case. Just order gold. That case.
C
What case?
A
Not what case, Chad. You see what I'm talking about? I'm gonna have to put that pistol in his mouth.
C
Wait, I'm asking you what. I don't got no case.
A
I'll have to. Ever have to put that to file on you, Ocho?
C
No, I'm asking you honestly, what case? I. I chat.
A
Y' all hear what he said? Not chat. He talking about what case.
C
I ain't get in trouble. I'm. You talking about, like, when you say case. The only case I know about is like, when you got a case. Like, what you mean?
A
I need you to order a case of laportier.

A
Unc, you ain't got.

C

A
I want problems.
C

A
I tried. I tried to be nice, Chad. Y' all see, when you try to be nice to somebody, they take advantage of you.
C

A

A

C
I know, but it came down to the last drive, and I forgot all about the bet we had. But I'm. Hey, I'm. I'm taking care of it right now, though, you know, hey. Cause. Cause I, I, I respect you and I respect our bet. Because all I got is my word. And if I ain't got my word, I ain't got nothing. And I told you, I told you I'm gonna stick to my bet. Qualifying credit required. Okay, we got a very special guest joining us. Joining us for the national champion Indiana Hoosier. He had one of the biggest plays of the game, and it does. It was the difference in the game. Mikal, Kamara. Mikal, how you doing, bro?
D
I'm doing good. I'm doing good. How y' all doing?
A
What's up, bro? Help me walk us through the point block. Cause you got a guy that's over you that's gonna block you, and you got the up back that he kind of just like turned your loop. Were you surprised that, like, damn, you ain't gonna put up no effort?
D
So the punt before that, we was in defensive safe. Right. So I kind of. I kind of like oozed off the ball.
A
Yeah.
D
And I kind of seen. I was like, I'm. I'm a little bit closer to the punter than I thought I would be. So I was like, all right, this next time, if I get another opportunity, I'm really shoot my shot. So this one, I really just got off the ball and I shot my shot and I blocked it, and I was just like, damn. Like, this is crazy.
C
You know what? I got a question too. Obviously, I've never seen it before. Maybe it's something that they do new in college. Mk. But why is it that I see punters now instead of walking straight rugby style? Why is he. Why is he veering off to the right, making it easy for you to block the punt? Is that something new that they do in college or is that.
D
I think that's gonna be around, especially with. With our special teams coordinator. We used to get a lot of guys from Australia, a lot of, like, rugby style kickers. That's like a big thing in college.
A
Hey. Okay, bro. The. The block punt wasn't only, you know, probably the pivotal moment of the game, but it. It earned you mvp. Defensive mvp. Well, I mean, what. What that felt like, bro.
E
What.
D
I mean, what's that, like, it was crazy, especially because, you know, the season has been a lot of, like, ups and downs, especially from my season last year. So just kind of like to put a cherry on top and to. To. To end my college career as a national champion and then as the defensive mvp, it's. It's something only God could have. Could have written for me, man.
C
Oh, that. That got to be the best feeling in the world, man. You gotta think, bro. I've been playing football since I was four years old. I've been playing football since I was four years old, and I've never, ever been in a situation where I've been an MVP or I've won anything, like a National championship or a Super Bowl. What did. When you. When you realize when that clock is zero, you realize y' all won that game, what does that feel like? Walk me through it so I could. So I can feel it, too. Because the only thing I ever wanted is it.
D
I got you, Ocho. It's like, right? It's surreal, bro. Like, it doesn't even. Right now, it doesn't feel real. Like, I'm seeing, like, my Instagram. My Instagram's blown up, my Twitter's blown up, and I'm just. I'm just looking at all the videos, all the clips, and it's just like. It's like I'm in, like, third person, bro. Like, it doesn't even feel like. Like I'm looking at myself, like. Like it's somebody else, but it's like it's me. I made the plays. I. I held up that trophy, and it's like. It's a feeling that you just. I'm not gonna lie, but you might got to put the cleats back on and. And try to get you one.
C
Hey, you know, I got. You know, I got some eligibility.
D
Oh, I know you do.
A
I. I know you do.
D
You come back. You come back. Hopefully come back and be a Hoosier, bro.
C
I like it.
A
The last play now, it looked like you guys were in Cover 2, the coverage in the back end. Now, I'm surprised that Miami, because I think it was a terrible design, because normally, Ocho, when you're trying to throw something in the COVID too, you got to have somebody in the flat to control that corner, because if there's nobody in the flat, he's going to keep sinking. Plus, the safety is zooming over the top. So I don't know. Even if he had led him, I'm not so sure it had been incomplete, but have been completed, passed when you called, they called this defense. Tell me what you were thinking. Like, I. I need to get home. And then all of a sudden, you see the ball release. What goes through your mind?
D
So first. I mean, I'll kind of walk you back through just the whole, like, the last series for real. So just. Okay, like, knowing the way. So we kicked the field goal, and I'm like, okay, like, it's time to go get money. Like. Like, this is, like, the best. The best feeling as a defensive player. Like, the game was on. On your hand. Like, yep, this is it, right? So it's, like, time to go get money. And coach pretty much put in, you know, our past Russian substitution. So I was like, I gotta get home. I gotta get home. So I was rushing, doing my thing, and I was getting tired. I'm not gonna lie. But that's what he thought. I ain't gonna lie. But. But that last play, so I'm kind of bending the edge, and I kind of get pushed. And I see the ball and I'm like, damn. Like. Like, no. Like, it can't end like this. And I hear the crowd pop. And I look up and I see Sharp with the ball. He took his knee, and he's running around, and I'm like, bro, we really. We better win this. We better win this.
A
I'm like, whoa, that. That. That's unbelievable. Yeah. You guys were getting tired. I was surprised that they didn't sub because they just kept letting you guys rush. I said, okay, I know y' all got some other pass rushes. These guys are tired after, like, two, three pass rushes. You spent.
D
No, don't get. I mean, we got. I mean, unfortunately, my two brothers, they both got hurt. Kevin Wyatt and the Stephen Daly. Those are my guys. So it was really. It was kind of me out there.
C
I'm not gonna.
D
I mean, I think about the entire game. So I. I was. I was feeling it, though. But it was like, it's. It's the final game for. For a. A storybook ending.
F
Wow.
C
So as. As the dust settles, it probably hasn't really hit you yet. It's only been a few days since you won a national champion. What's the next process? What's the next steps for you as you prepare. Prepare for the next journey after college football.
D
So right now, it's. Right now I'm packing. Trying to pack up my apartment and get ready to go. Go down to Florida to train.
C
Oh, you coming down here?
A
Orlando?
D
You said what?
A
You're gonna be training for the draft?
D
Hell, yeah. Hell yeah.
A
So cowboy get you, bro.
D
I mean, I hope any team gets me. You know, there's no, there's nobody.
A
I'm just throwing it out there. I'm just throwing out there. We need nice little details.
C
Speaking of which, you haven't been to Cincinnati.
D
I haven't been to Cincinnati.
C
No, no, man, listen, we can go ahead and get you acquainted, man. Meet Mr. Brown.
A
Yeah, that what you want? So. So what do you know? At the combine, what are you hoping to run? What are you hoping. What, what, what, what can we expect? Can we expect something, something four, six? Can we expect a. A ten and a half foot long jump? Can we expect, you know, something special in the shuttle? What, what can we expect from you?
D
Oh, I'm expecting big, big numbers for sure. Going down with Pete. Pete's, you know, pretty proven with everyone that he's, he's trained.
C
Oh, yeah.
D
So the, the biggest thing is having him get me healthy. You know, it's been, it's been a long, long season playing against some good competition, so. Body's definitely a little bit banged up, but I'll go down there and put on the show for sure.
A
What made you, what made you decide to go to Indiana? What was it? Because prior to the last two years, there was the losing this college team in America and somehow this is, this is better than Rudy. The ending that you guys had this year. What, what made you decide to go there and what made you think that you guys could actually win it all? Or when did you think you could win it all?
D
So pretty much. So Coastig, pretty much, he got the job at Indiana. This is when I was at jmu. So honestly, before the end of that season, I was already thinking about hitting the portal, and that kind of just made my decision, like, solidified. So I had the Portal and I still didn't really have really any offers. I had Indiana, I had Pitt, and then I had Cincinnati. And it really just came down to playing in the Big Ten, like Big Ten or acc. I was down and playing the Big Ten, so. But knowing the, the whole history of, of Indiana, I was like, dog. Like, out of all the teams you decided to go to, it's.
E
It's in.
D
Right. And we put up there in Bloomington. You know, it's cold, so we put up there. Indiana.
E
It's.
D
It's January. I get there and it's, it's like two, three feet of snow. I'm like, dude, what am I doing?
C
But then.
D
We went through the whole process. We got to the. To. I always talk about the Maryland game last year, Maryland game was kind of like a real pivotal moment. That's kind of, kind of when we realized individually that we could play at this level. Then the, the.
A
The.
D
The home win against Michigan was huge. That's when we kind of realized as a team who we were. And then it, it kind of not shattered, but when we went down to Ohio State, we realized like, damn, that this is a big moment. Like we lost to them, that that stadium was rocking. Like, when I tell you I've never played in anything like that, that that was rocky. So. But we definitely learned from that. We learned from Notre Dame. And then, you know, all the guys that came back, we kind of had a lot of experience. Then we got a lot of guys at the portal who, who are vets who played on, on winning teams. And then this season we, we was tried. We went through Oregon, we went through Penn State, we went through Ohio State, we went through Iowa. So those were just some of the big games that kind of made us realize like, we, we.
A
We are one of the tops, special.
D
We're the top dogs for sure.
A
Yeah.
D
And then going down, playing, playing sec, playing Alabama, meeting them the way that we beat him, he was like, dog, like, it's up to us. It's. It's 100, 100 in our hands to, to drop this ball. And we, we came up on top.
A
Well, congratulations. But Mikhail, on a very unbelievable season. Congratulation, man. This is 16 0. You're the first team, well in the, in this era, in the College Football Playoff era, to win 16 games, undefeated, unblemished, outstanding game. That game was on the edge of your seat. You didn't know what was going to happen to the very end. And at the end of the day, you guys stay on the top of the mountain. So congratulations to who's your nation out there? And good luck in the draft, man, though come back and talk to us once this process is over.
D
Oh, yeah.
C
Mk. Mk, where you from?
D
Virginia.
C
Are you from va? Okay. Okay. How long you gonna be down here, Miami?
D
I'm being there until end of March. Okay.
C
In the march. Okay. Okay. But you, you've been a test. Okay, okay.
D
Hey, it's business first, but we, we can handle something after.
C
Oh, yeah, listen, is it. Listen, I take care of business too, but you got to eat.
A
Thank you so much for joining us, man.
D
Appreciate it.
A
Congratulations. And we'll see you down the road. Thank you.
D
Thank you.
A
Mika Kamara, champion defensive player of the game in the College Football Playoff national championship. And now his college dream dream is realized. He's a national champion and now he goes down to Florida, train for the draft and get ready to hopefully put some good numbers and, and gets drafted really, really high. All right, going back, There's been speculation that the Ravens and the, the Ravens and Raiders are discussing or could end up discussing the trade that would send Lamar Jack Las Vegas. There's a feeling out there that the Raiders are going to make a play for Lamar. That's a big splash. If the Raiders. You'd give up all these pieces for Lamar over drafting Mendoza with the first overall pick.
C
Man, stop playing with my. Stop playing with my dog like that.
A
This makes no sense to me.
C
Whoever, whoever even came up with that report to about making a splash and making a play for Lamar. Man, stop playing. Man, stop playing. The quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders will be Fernando Mendoza with the, the number one overall pick. Okay. Fernando Mendoza's receiver on the right of the left. His ex will probably be George W.B. pickens. Okay. And that's pretty much it. They gonna revamp everything over there in Las Vegas and that's pretty much it.
A
They definitely need to do something. Oo, I don't know what all they're gonna do, but they need to do something.
C
Yeah, absolutely.
A
The quarterback could definitely help, but I still think there's just so many pieces away, man. They don't really have no wide receivers. Now if they get George Pickett, I mean, you got Brock Bowers, but when I say wide receivers, we don't. Brock Bowers. When you list Brock Bowers, they have TE by the end of his name.
C
Right.
A
When you mentioned all the McBride, they have TE. So when we say wide receivers, we're not talking about the tight end, we're talking about the guys that are wide receivers. They don't have any. Their best one, they traded to Jacksonville, I think for a third or a fourth round pick. So they got a pick coming back.
C
Right.
A
I don't know if they have any compensatory picks, but with that being said, they're still a long ways away. Yeah, they're in the back. They're in the back of the class for a minute because everybody got substantial quarterbacks. You got Mahomes in that division, you got Herbert in that division and you got Bo Nixon in that division. Now maybe, maybe. I don't think Max Crother would be upset if you were to trade him. It all depends on where you're going to trade him.
C
Yeah, and, and, and, and what you can get for him.
A
Oh, you will Get a for. You'll get a first. You go get a first round pick for it.
C
Yeah. What you can get for him and help him to build that team and get some pieces. Because you. I mean, with him, you lost. So without him, you could lose, too. So why not? While he's extremely valuable, if you're trading, get what you can. Yeah, get what you can. Yeah. Okay. I can't wait to see Pickens in that goddamn black and silver, boy. Huh? Hey, call it. I'll call it, Call it, call it.
A
What you want. Blue 17. Blue 17 said, Hey.
C
Well, I'm still quick as hell, boy.
A
Yeah, I see that.
C
God damn.
A
And my knees still hurt.
C
Oh, I feel like I could play. Boy, I could play.
A
I know you can, man.
C
Nah, I'm talking about. Hey, Unc, right now, right now at 58, I'm telling you, I can give you four quarters third downs.
A
Yeah, change for a dollar four quarter. You do it.
C
Nah, nah, nah, nah. I'm telling you. Put me up. Put me up. Now you know how competitive I am.
A
Yes.
C
Man. Man, I wish they we all still.
A
Competitive in our very own minds.
C
Yeah, give me. Give me opportunity to get out there on that now, man, I sauce these little young dudes up, man. They don't understand. They this different here, boy. I'm.
A
First time you go full out, you going pull a hamstring, going to tell your hamstring, smooth out the bone.
C
I play soccer every weekend full out.
A
You ain't running no full speed to.
C
Try to have to is 11. It's 11v11. This not the little.
A
I don't care nothing about that.
C
I'm ready, boy.
A
Stay out the field.
C
Hey, hey, you talking about, man, look at. Hey, my knees good.
A
You need help, hoocho.
C
Hey, I'm flex.
A
Look at that joker stiffen on the fence post, huh? That joke was stiff in the fence post. Oh, man, look at that. Now, you better stay. Stay on the sideline with me, man. Stay on the sideline with me. Oh, Joe Burrow hasn't tweeted in two years. This is what he treated today. The amount of people that don't understand what a catch is in the rule book flabbergast me. And it's not the official. The two plays yesterday were not difficult calls. They got them both, right?
C
Yeah, yeah, listen, you was right.
A
They talking about the Hutchinson play. The Hutchinson play. Do y' all realize that he caught the ball, took off running, his knee touched, and then Gonzalez popped it out. As opposed to a guy that just drops to the ground and in the process, J. Mac, I mean, y' all thought. Do those plays look the same to you? One guy was a runner. His knee goes down. Hutch was a runner.
C
Which game? Which game? Which game were these tweets referring to? Huh?
A
He's talking about the play in Denver and the play in Houston. Okay. Gonzalez popped it out of Hutch.
C
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
Hutch ran, Ocho. He was running. And in the process of getting ready to go down, his knee hits. That's different than you catching the ball and going straight down.
C
Yeah.
A
Because the question is, let me ask you this. If he catches that ball and he goes straight down and it pops out, what is it?
C
Bumble.
A
It's incomplete.
C
Incomplete. Incomplete. Unless you make a football move. You got to make a football move.
A
Just keep saying, well, what about likely? Likely? If in the end zone, in order for it to be rule to catch, they got three steps. If you go look, before that first step hit down, the guy ripped it out. Just go look. You can see they slowed it down even. Was that a Sunday night game? Yes, that was Sunday night game. You could see he goes, 1, 2. And the third is about the Pittsburgh guy pulled it out. As a matter of fact, it was JP2. He pulled it out. Yeah, they're. They're. They're totally different plays.
C
Yep.
A
Brandon Cooks didn't take us. He goes straight down. And I knew what happened. He showed him the ball, Ocho. He said, he showed me the ball.
E
Yeah.
C
Once he.
A
And I know if he showed me the ball, he got to break it down. Ain't no way he gonna catch. Hold it up here. So in the process of bringing it down, trying to put it to his body to get right out of there. You go see his head. Dis the ball, Ocho. His hands are right there.
C
Bring it to me. You brought it right to him.
A
Devontae ran and his knee hit. We moving on. Your team lost. If you was for Buffalo, your team lost. If you was for Chicago, your team lost. Now go argue with. Go argue in an echo chamber. And who echo chamber? Oh, man. According to Ian o', Connor, the contract hold up between John Harbaugh and the Giant centered around reporting structure. Harbaugh needed in writing that he would report directly to owner John Maurer, not GM Joe Shine. A Harbaugh reported directly to ownership in Baltimore, but that has not been the structure with the Giants shown recused himself from negotiations over the last couple of days. Look, he had that set up in Baltimore, right? Once it's hard, Ocho. Once you've been in a position and this is, this is what you're used to, for you to go any other way. That's why, that's why I think it'll be hard for Coach Belichick. Coach Belichick had total autonomy. The only person he reported to was Mr. Crab. And Mr. Crab, for the most part, there's only one decision that Mr. Kraft says okay, and that was to keep Bella, to keep Brady and get rid of Garoppolo. Other than that, he sided with Coach Belichick on everything. Even when the rubber needed to meet the road. At the end of 20 years, he said, okay, Billy. So I think it'd be co. I think it'd be very hard. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it'll be hard that you got to report to a general manager. You not in charge of the 53. You're not in charge of the draft. You're not in charge of free agency. Oh, should I be? Extremely. When you've had that kind of control for 20 years.
C
Yeah. And listen. Not, not. I told you. I told you. See, now, now that this is going on and they're, they're, they're, they're having some tug of war and language that's in the contract now, what's the chances of him pulling out of that and going over to Buffalo?
A
But I think they got it done. Now, I said, I think that that was a problem, but I think I, I think that language did get into the contract. He recused himself. So I think the contract's done now, Ocho.
E
Okay.
A
But you, you see what he did, Ocho? Get it in writing. I ain't taking your word for nothing. Cause you see, oh, yeah, that'll be no problem. And then all of a sudden, no, you got to go through. No, see, yeah, get it in writing.
C
Yeah, they'll play with you now.

Podcast: Club Shay Shay
Guests: Elijah Sarratt, Mikal Kamara
Date: January 25, 2026
Host: Shannon Sharpe, co-hosted with Chad “Ocho” Johnson
This episode of Club Shay Shay celebrates Indiana University's historic college football national championship run—the unprecedented turnaround story of Head Coach Curt Cignetti and his squad, including key transfers from James Madison. Shannon and Ocho break down the title game's turning points and welcome player guests Elijah Sarratt and Mikal Kamara to share behind-the-scenes insight into IU's magical season. The hosts also discuss the impact of QB Fernando Mendoza, dissect game strategy, and reflect on the resilient, championship mindset that defined the team.
[01:14–12:33]
On IU’s Transformation and the WR Corps:
“First, like you just said, my boy Fernando, he put that thing on the money every single time... Just the work we put in weekend and week out. Coach Shannon, my receiver coach, do a great job emphasizing we bigger guys... so, you know, you use our body, use our hands, man.”
Mentality for Facing Familiar Foes:
“I’m always confident in my guys winning… but, like, tell you we was gonna go out there and do that? That was kind of surprising.”
Waffle House Persona & Locker Room Vibes:
Championship Mindset:
“Coming from where I’m from, playing the national championship... Mindset... The same has been all year. Like, train this game just like we did any other game... stack them days up leading up to Monday, and then just go to work.”
Choosing Indiana:
“Just being comfortable and knowing the scheme and everything.”
[15:20–36:52]
IU’s Biggest Win:
“Kurt Signetti, take a bow. What you’ve been able to do with this program in a short span of two years—nobody can boast what they’ve done.”
Fernando Mendoza’s Defining Moment:
“That was a great play. Mendoza right there… in his effort to make sure, ‘I’m going to score by any means necessary’… that lets you know how much this game meant to him.”
Defensive Prowess & Key Performance Stats:
[41:32–52:27]
The Punt Block That Changed It All:
“The punt before that, we was in defensive safe… I kind of seen, I was like, I’m a little bit closer to the punter than I thought I would be. So this one, I really just got off the ball and I shot my shot and I blocked it, and I was just like, damn. Like, this is crazy.”
Winning Defensive MVP & Emotional Aftermath:
“Especially because, you know, the season has been a lot of ups and downs… to end my college career as a national champion and then as the defensive MVP, it’s something only God could have written for me, man.”
What it Feels Like to Win It All:
“Right now it doesn’t feel real… it’s like I’m in, like, third person, bro. Like, it doesn’t even feel like—like I’m looking at myself, like it’s somebody else, but it’s like, it’s me. I made the plays. I held up that trophy...”
Reliving the Final Defensive Stand:
Kamara’s Path to Bloomington:
[17:29–37:45, 28:29–31:24]
Comparisons to Other Program Turnarounds:
“Their first Big Ten title in 58 years… The first undefeated season in 80 years... The first Hoosier to win a Heisman Trophy. The first ever national champion, first ever number one ranking…”
Importance of Transfer Portal/Recruits:
No Doubt, Dominant Wins:
[36:54–41:32, 53:18–56:32]
On IU’s plan for the championship:
Elijah Sarratt, 07:19 —
“Mindset... The same has been all year. Like, train this game just like we did any other game…”
On the final drive:
Mikal Kamara, 45:30 —
“It’s the best feeling as a defensive player. Like, the game is on your hand. Like, yep, this is it, right? It’s time to go get money.”
On Coach Cignetti’s culture:
Shannon Sharpe, 17:29 —
“Kurt Signetti, take a bow. What you’ve been able to do with this program in a short span of two years—nobody can boast what they’ve done.”
On the big 4th-and-5 call:
Sharpe, 20:14:
“I said, man, Signetti, hey, Sigs, walking around with pumpkins.”
The conversation is high-energy, authentic, and rooted in playful back-and-forth between Shannon and Ocho. Both bring expertise as former NFL pros but keep the tone celebratory for the players, irreverent among each other, and full of laughter and mutual respect for the game’s transformative power.
This episode captures the magic and rarity of Indiana’s championship season through vivid storytelling, honest athlete reflection, and expert dissection of the key moments that defined their run.
