Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Joe, I'm gonna go ahead, slide on through your boy. Jameer Gribbs.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
He came back. He came back.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
But I see why he came back.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Okay, alliance and Jamil Gribbs, they agreed
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
to a three year, 67.5 million dollar contract to make him now the highest paid running back in NFL history, including.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Joe, turn it down.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
51 million in guarantees. On top of that, the Colts and Jonathan Taylor have agreed to a two year, $44 million extension with 39 million guaranteed.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Joe, they said the running back market was going down. Joe, do you think this right here,
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
this, this is bringing the position back? Why is the stock rising? What's going on? What do you think? Is it back? Is they popping? What's going down? Joe?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
They understanding what's going on? Deebo? The running back market is getting to where it needs to because they're getting as just as much touchdowns. And they're receiving the ball too. Like Gibbs, Bijon Robinson, those dudes, they're catching the ball and they're running the ball. They scored 30. We got 36 touchdowns for Gibbs. We got 44 touchdowns for Derrick Henry. We got 36 touchdowns for the other back. So like, what I'm saying is they understand it was Jonathan Taylor. So teams are realizing when you go and give them these short term deals, wide receiver market is $40 million a year. You got Jamar Chase that scored 25 TDs, not knocking Jamar. All great players averaging around 1700 yards. But when you looking at the top running backs, all purpose yards, they're getting around 15, 1600 rushing and then not 6700 yards receiving also. So they get around 2300 yards all purpose with 44, with 40 touc touchdowns, 36 touchdowns, that you can get them for 25 million instead of $40 million. So when you're looking at the value that you're being able to get, these backs that can actually clock ground the pound, you know what I'm saying, maintain the clock and then not take them off the field on third down where you could pass it to them and screens and they can be able to get first downs for you. So just dollar sense, dollar wise, when you have a court, these receivers are making $33 million where you know for 1,000 yards, Zay flowers, great receiver million a year. When you got Bijan Robinson at 22 and you got to say flowers at 35, I like that Bijan Robinson, that's just, that's a no brainer as far as money wise goes. So just with the, when you get a great running back, when you get these young running backs that are playing to a great level, a high term, so you can get them to these three year contracts to where a 50 million guarantee. Let's see how much longer you can do this ball out for these next two years. Because this is what you've done. If you can keep doing it, we can be able to get another contract. But it's these three years, nice bread. $25 million. When there's just showing the market of receivers are making 40 back like okay ones are making 35. We gotta, you know what I'm saying? It makes sense.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I'm thinking it's a, it's a combination of, of, of two things, to be honest with you. I don't think necessarily the running back market as a whole is coming back like, like that. Because when you look at it, I think your average running back, you know, is. What is it they say, 2 to 4 million, something like that. But that's also a lot of guys that are on those rookie deals, that's your first year deal. And then guys that make it to that second year deal because hell, right now they considering anything what 28, damn near old. Now you got an average between they say five and ten million dollars. And right now what you're seeing is you're seeing guys hitting that 22 to 25, 22 to 20, 22 and a half range. And that's like you said, that's your top running backs and it's guys that can do all three or all four downs or that your offense runs through them. You need them to Be able to have success. Your success starts with them. So. And like you said, when you look at it, you got Gibbs, you got Bijan, you got Jonathan Taylor, you got saquon, you got McCaffrey, Henry, all that. Those are guys that either can do it all or the offense runs through them. And the success of that offense is built into them being able to run the ball and they can do that. So I think that's a, That's a combination of it as far as those, those top running backs being able to, to get that money. And again, once you look at it like as a, as an average across the top guys, they getting paid because they can do it all. And the offense runs through them or the offense runs through them, or both. And that's what I think. I think that's what we're looking at. I don't think it's necessarily coming back. I think it's the same thing. You know, when you look into the wide receiver market. Yeah, you get a guy that's. That's one of those dogs.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yeah, you gonna have to be up there.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That's just where it's gonna be. I think every position is sort of like that, except for, you know, when you look at quarterback position, it just. That's just. That's that. That is what it is. Like if you in that top 15, like 10, maybe, I mean, you're looking at 45, 50 million. Especially now when you got guys close to 60. What is it, 60 something, 61, something like that.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
The, the thing is, Debo, it's like. It's just a discrepancy of. It's. It's kind of similar in every position where it's like you either like, look, Rico Dottle, how much better is how much better we got him making seven and a half. You have Jalen Warren making around $4 million a year. And then you have the 20s, and then you have to be like Gibbs with the Henrys to make, and then the Jonathan Taylors, it's either 22 million, you're trying to get into that, or with Devin Montgomery, you know what I'm saying? Seven and a half. Where you're looking at Rico Doddle, where it's like you either gonna be young and hit the market to where now, okay, you're gonna get top of the market or where is my value? Am I like. It's a big jump then four and a half, seven and a half. Under 10 million. Because there's no real like. Okay, no. Now around 13 for running back. Do you know What I'm saying, you either, Christian, it's gonna range there, either the best of the best, if he said in the market or they're like this, we can go get another guy in the draft for sure that hopefully we hit on him for, you know what I'm saying, a million dollars a year and he can turn into you to where? Oh, this dude, we've been paying a million dollars and he's go younger, you know what I'm saying? He, he's getting that we owe him back pay. He's 20 worth, 22 now. So we can give him a big contract, a little three year joint to see if he can still perform for these next two years and we can keep it or do something like that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Yeah, I'm, I'm with you. I think the, the, the running back market as a whole is, I mean, it is what it is, but right now they're just like, yo, if all you're doing is running the ball and you're running it, you know, average effective, then you're going to get what that market dictates. If you're a guy that can do it all and you're doing it at a high level and the offense runs through you, it has to run through you. And the other running backs can't make it run through that offense the way you do. You go be up there in that 22 range and that's not, I think that's just what it done came down to,
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I guess.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Larry Fitzgerald explains why he won't officially retire. He said never left the Cardinals ahead of the NFL hall of Fame game. Larry Fitzgerald said that he doesn't feel the need to officially retire. He said, I remember them talking about retirement killing more people in our country than anything. And so that always stuck with me. And so this got to be a joke. I just don't believe in retirement. I think you're transitioning into different phases, especially as an athlete. You transition into different phases, especially as an athlete.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Fitzgerald won't use the word retirement.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
There's no retirement in sight. And so, I don't know, I protest the word more than the action that more than the actual thing. So I just want to acknowledge that. So he's just saying the word. He don't like the word.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yeah, I don't think he just don't like the word. What you think, Debo?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Listen, bro, I do, I do not care about the word itself. Words only have as much power as you allow them to have. Like, that's just, that's just really what it what it comes down to, I don't care about the retirement from the NFL. You retired from the NFL, Fitz. I'm sorry, brother. You're retired from the NFL as a player. That's just what it is. That don't mean you're going to die. Like you got a bunch of businesses, you got all this other stuff going on. You got all this other stuff going on.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
And I believe for you to even get your benefits, I believe you have to actually retire before you can do that. I don't know, I could be wrong. Like you gotta file retirement paperwork or something.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I don't know, I don't know.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
But you may not have to actually go and just be like, I retired.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
The fact that you're out of it so long, you're in the hall and I don't know, I don't know how that works, but the word itself in the field of a professional athlete playing in the NFL, you're retired, bro. You can not say the word or say the word. I mean, like I said, you give it as much power as you want, but for me, I'm retired from the NFL. I never retired from life. Yeah, if you retire from life and you say I'm retired, I'm not going to do nothing but sit at home. Yeah, you're going to sit there, you're going to wither up and you're going to die. And that's just what happens. You're not in motion, you're not using your body, you're not using your brain, you're not doing anything that's going to help you generate and help motivate and move the body and the mind. So I don't know. He must be associating the word of retirement to I'm not doing anything. But you can use the word and still going through a process that is not actually retirement. Like I'm retired, I've been retired.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
It's 20, 30 year olds that's retiring, selling businesses, doing all that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
But they going and they doing another business, they get another business, they sell
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
this, they do that, they do that, they retire from that, they retire from this. Like, don't worry about the word, Fitz. Just go ahead. Yeah, say you retired from the NFL, live your life, do what you do and keep it moving, baby. The word, it only give, it only
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
has as much power as you allow it to have. What do you think, Joe?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
That man. So first and foremost, I'mma let. I'm going to give Larry Fitzgerald, both of us, Larry Fitzgerald, his flowers on deservingly Getting to the hall of Fame first ballot, the way that he did it coming out of pit, doing it the right way to more tackles than drop passes in his career. The nice hands, Larry was always a phrase that we were saying, nice hands, Larry, because that man was not dropping any passes. He was modeling consistency. So shout out to Larry first and foremost for his career and going to the hole. When you talk about the retiring, I think it's more for sure, like, it's just a closed chapter of you're not going to be able to play anymore. So for me and you, the word is like, I have to use it because I'm like, I ain't going to be able to go back and, and playing that game no more. It's passed me on. So I'm going to start doing other ventures. So I am gracefully bowing out retirement because I can't play no more. Like, even if I wanted to, it's just a moving on. So if you don't want to use the exact words, I hear you, Larry, but we ain't playing in the league no more. We ain't going to be able to actually physically be on the squad. There's no more practice jerseys that we're going to be able to put on and lace up the shoes no more. So, like, that's why, even if you don't want caller retire. I can see what you're saying, but like, when we feud, Deebo, like, I just clothed retirement as closing the chapter for me, where I'm like, damn, I had so much respect for the game. And Larry, you talk about closing the chapter. You closed it in a Hall of Fame gold jacket the best way possible. Like you talking about wrapping a bow tie on a book. You did it the best way possible. So, like, you don't have to call a retirement. I'm just looking at it like I know Larry's done. He's not playing no more. And that man went to a Hall of Fame where exactly he deserves to be because he did it the right way. He played gracefully. He did it like he led by example, everything. So that's exactly why nobody's contemplating if you're a first ballot hall of Famer, if you don't say that you don't want to call a retirement. It is what it is. You not retirement, but you're walking around with that gold jacket. So I'm saying, Larry, Larry's not playing no more. He's retired. That's what I think retirement is. Whatever you think retirement is, Larry, you can have it like that. Because you deserve it. You got a gold jacket on, and you did it the way that you wanted to. So for me, though, retirement was. I just know that even if I want to get back into this game that I love so much, the NFL, I cannot, because it's moved on past me, and it is what it is. So I'm gonna for what I did. Now I can go back finally and look at my stuff and be like, you know what, Joe? You actually did. You know, I can actually finally close the book and look at the games and look at the highlights and be like, yeah, boy, y' all, hold on. That Tom Brady pick. Actually, now, I wasn't really able to be like this in the moment. After the game, people are like, oh, Joe, man, you won the game for us. And you're like, you going to dinner? And people in Pittsburgh are so happy. Like, man, Joe, I can't. Like, come on. I'm like, man, like, I'm just doing my job.

Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm like, there was a couple plays. I missed a tackle in the joint. Like, we're still gonna watch things where I could have did better. Like, I was just thinking, like, that game was good, but that wasn't the best game. I played like, I had. That was. That play was dope. You know what I'm saying? But now, after you finally close that chapter of retirement for me, I'm like, this. Ah, I was nice. So looking at your highlights, being able to literally look at your stuff and be like, okay, now I can move on and be like, boom. Because the dudes now, when ja' Marr Chase, when I was out there, when I was playing for the Steelers and I in two, man, and I was in trail, and he hit me, and I knew he was running the 7 route, and I couldn't get there. I knew it was coming. I was like. And I was like, hit that. And he ran. He caught that joint and almost turned up field, and I just had to push him out of bounds. I was like, oh, my God. Okay, Jamar Chase is nice. I'm into, man. The safety's over top. And he squeezed that. That's my play. I couldn't get there. Come on, man. These dudes are leaving me a little bit. So just with me, like, being able to retire, close the book, that's kind of how it was. But. Larry, shout out to you, coach. Yeah, bro.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I ain't gonna even lie to you. Like, I think in my mind that, as you said, that the retirement. I think I didn't shut the door probably until, like, two years ago, to be honest with you, bro.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Like.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Like, in my head, where I was like, yo, I could still do it if I really wanted to, I could still do it.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Honestly. Probably until last year, to be honest with you. Because I've been looking over the last
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
year, and I'll, you know, I'll catch some of my kids and be like, this or that. And I look and I'm like, damn. I'm like, I was a dog. I'm like, I did that, you know,
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I'm like, oh, wee. And now I'm looking and I'm like, thinking about, like, trying to do that. I'm like, oh, yeah, I'm about to tear everything up if I even try and do that right now.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That ain't even gonna happen. I don't even know.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I don't even. I don't even know if I could get off that block, let alone two of them.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Like, that's not happening. And Like I said, just looking at. I'm like, damn. I guess I was pretty good.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Like, bro Debo.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You know what I'm saying?
Mangesha Tekalur
Yes.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You was actually doing all that stuff. And it was like. Because some were just playing out there. You're moving, you're hitting. Just doing that is just what you were born to do. You don't know nothing different. They're like, how you do that? I don't know. That's just. You know, that's what I do. Like, it's just like, joe, why are you so. You got ab by yourself with no safety? I'm like this because I believe that I can really press him, and if I get my hands on him, like, we're fast, the same speed. I know what's going on. Like, I believe in myself. I think I'm good. Coach, we gonna roll this. I'm like, joe, you're tripping. I'm like, no, but right now, looking at. After I retire and with my hip, like, you saying, I'm like this. No, I was bugging if I was a person talking to myself like this. No, that's. You can't do that. But corners in the league, sir. Tan Lil Peezy. You can't tell Lil Peezy. You can't be. He'll be over there by himself with Ja' Marr Chase. Give me that. He wants that. And he believes that he could do it. And, like, with the tape and his athleticism and studying stuff dudes are out there can really do, make it happen. So it's like, I know I'm not amongst them anymore. I was. You know what I'm saying? But now was.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Yeah, I was.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Hey, man, he might run right by me.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Cti, ain't still nothing. Tell him I took it, huh? Ain't still no super bowl from Larry. Your boy CT over here in the chat talking about, I stole a Super bowl from Larry. I ain't steal it. I took it.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You took it?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I made it mine.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You did that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
You understand that?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I don't steal.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You did that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I take it, make it mine. You understand?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
That's what you do, Deebo.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Stop playing with me, Joe. I was looking at this thing my son sent me.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
He's like, yo, look at this right here. It said vintage James here. He was a dog. I'm looking at it, I'm like, ooh, damn.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That's two blocks.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
And still made the tackle for a loss.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Like, come on.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
What they waiting on, Joe? What they waiting on? I'm like, oh, my God. Look here, man. Bleacher Report ranked the top 10 quarterbacks
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
in the NFL for 2026. Now we're gonna start from 10 down. They said Pro bowl caliber grades 89 to 95. You have 10, Brock Purdy, nine, Jordan Love, eight, Dak seven, Lamar Jackson, six. Drake May. Now you got all pro ability grades. They consider that in 93 to 90. Joe Burrow at a 90. Patrick Mahomes 91, Herbert 91, Allen 92. Matthew Stafford, 93. Joe.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yes.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Would you move any of this? Would you, would you move anybody around?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I, I like number one for number one.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Okay.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I think Matthew Stafford, I don't care how old he is, if he's shown with his consistency, he's throwing the no looks, he's throwing it on time, he's throwing the ball where it needs to be and MVP caliber. So his, his numbers, I don't care what his age is. His, his ball. He throws the perfect spirals. He's on point. I like, I like Matt, I like Matthew Stafford. Josh Allen at 2. Cool. Justin Herbert at 3. I think Justin Herbert, why he has great. They are looking at the skill set. He has the skill set, he has the arm. But behind, he keeps getting hit. They don't give him no time. They're looking at if he had time and his weapons were out there just as far as a quarterback. He has all the attributes to be a great quarterback.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You saying that they like Herbert better than they would Burrow, giving them both all the assets they need.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Say that one more time.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I said, would you like Justin Herbert better than you would like Joe Burrow,
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
given all the assets that they need?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
No, I think Joe Burrow is a better quarterback than Justin Herbert. I'm going Joe Burrow over Herbert for sure.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yeah, I would have to, I would
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
have to move that. Now this Patrick Mahomes thing, I'm still
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
like, I'm still moving Herbert a little
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
bit more like, it's just, it's really, it's. What have you done for me lately? And at the end of the day, Patrick Mahomes, he's been playing. He's a great quarterback still too. But the numbers, he haven't been to the top of the top. He has been like throwing all of that like backyard ball really hasn't been working as much as it has before. And with the receivers that he hasn't had really too much top receivers. Rice was out. My man Travis getting a little older, you know what I'm saying? So they got to figure something out. So I'm with Pat, but they need to Start working back more on timing, getting that running game right so he doesn't have to be Superman all the time. Because sometimes when he's out there scrambling, doing that a little bit too much. It hasn't been working out the way that it was before.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Yeah, I think I would go. I'm cool with. I guess I'm cool with one or two. I would go burrow. 3. I stay Mahomes where he at? And I move.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I ain't gonna lie to you. I'm a big fan. I like Dak, too. Dak.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I was gonna tell you. Dak is too high.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Dak is nice.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
That should be way lower.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Dak is fire Dax numbers. If they get a defense out there like the Cowboys offense, he'd be putting up numbers.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I would actually give.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I get. I give.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I would give Dak to five, and I'll put Herbert at the six. So I move everybody down. I flip. I flip. Burrow. I put. Put him to the three. Lee Mahomes at the foe. Get Dak to five and bump Herbert to the six.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Okay. You got hurt over Lamar Jackson?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Ooh, yes. Yep. I do.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Okay.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I don't know if Lamar go and give me what makes him great, which is his legs, which. That extra aspect he hasn't. He's getting.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I lied to you. Not though, brother. We be looking at Lamar Jackson, but when you say his number one receiver is Zay Flowers, and that's the third best receiver on the Cincinnati Bengals, and he's might be. You know what I'm saying? I mean. Yeah. So, like, with Lamar Jackson, he's never really had a number one receiver. So they have the run game and all that, but they got Zay Flowers and they have his. They had the Titan Andrews. So, like, I would with this. I think if Lamar Jackson had a number one receiver, he would. He would have better. Definitely better. Better passing stats.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You saying Zay ain't the number one?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Not like that, no.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
We just got paid like it.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
That's the receiver market. The receiver market's hot. And that's. That's. And was it 35 a year? Something like that? Olave. But then. Because it's Jamar Chase. Because when you have jamar chase at 40, you know what I'm saying, then it's like, okay, since he's like, I didn't get as much. I'm a number one. But I'm like the lower number one. But I'm still. Still 30. 33. 35 a year.
Mangesha Tekalur
Yeah.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yeah, I'm dropping.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Well, it don't matter. I'm still. I still.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I got.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I'm gonna put. I'm gonna drop as much. You know what? It ain't that I. I dislike the Cowboys. I think what it is, is I dislike fans of certain teams because they ain't got no. They ain't got no home training. That's what it is.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Why you say that, Debo? Which. Which ones you talking about? Like. Like, like, like, like.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I'm against Dak because he a Cowboy,
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
but I'm only against Dak because he a cow.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I feel you. That's why I never really been. I never been a Dak. Honestly. Fan.
Nora Jones
For real.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
But when you look at it, it's like this. He's not a bad quarterback at all. Numbers at all.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
No.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Ridiculous. Every year, the offense, Cowboys offense is always balling. So that's why, like, the Cowboys fans, they think that it's going to be because they're scoring a lot of points. It looks good.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yeah.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I don't know.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Like, that's what it is.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I didn't realize that. Philly, same thing. Ain't that. I don't know. I'm just like. I just. I just like your fans. Your fans ain't got. They want to throw. They want to throw eggs and batteries at buses and.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yeah, they go hard on. They go hard out there.
Juliana
Ain't got.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
They ain't got no hard training.
Black American Girl Speaker
Yep.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Philly go hard. They tripping.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
They dropping people in parking lots, man. People walking through with a different jersey.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Huh?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I just. I said, I'm talking about Philly Browns fans.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I just, you know, that's just, you
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
know, they loyal die hard.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
It. I don't have a problem with Brown's fans. It's just that that's, you know, that was. That was my rival for so long. You know what I'm saying? Like, so it's kind of.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You know what I'm saying?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That's just what it is.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
And at least they're not 100% delusional.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Dallas Cowboys fans are 130,000% delusional because every year we. Them boys.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
But the crazy part is, though, once the roster, normally they have pretty good teams. So I'm like, the rosters look like they should be able to win. They got CDs now. They got George Pickens, they got Dak. So now it's like, weird. Our defense gotta stand up. Okay. Yes. Yeah, you right.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You right. And then like, yeah, bro, it's just the fans, bro.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm trying to always.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Maybe the owner, too, if you score
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
30 points, you feel like you got a chance. Cause you're scoring touchdowns.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
30. You gotta win, bruh.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
We have 30.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
When you score every game, that's why
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm looking at us with the Browns.
Bill and Juliana Podcast Host
We just.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
When we start scoring these points. That's what I'm saying.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Hey, you know what? You know what else, too? Yeah, go look at that. Go look at that. Go look at that 2000. That 2000.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
What is it, 2007 to 2008? Pittsburgh still a decent 2008. Hey, bruh, dogs. We were some dogs, bro. Look at them numbers. Put them numbers against all the teams that they say is ahead of us. Put the yards, put the. Whatever you want to do, dude. We putting hands on them. Look at the numbers. Y' all pull up that 2008 Pittsburgh Steeler defense against whoever y' all think is the number one, the 01 Ravens, the. The. The. The.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Whoever.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Tampa, the.
Juliana
The.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
The Bears, all that.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Look it up.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I'm trying to tell you, y' all doing that O Stiller defense injustice, like,
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
you haven't seen me stuff. I'm like, oh, we was. The point is, you need to have the point of the defensive not trying to give up no buckets. But the thing is, when you have both sides of the ball trying to do the same, offense is trying to get buckets all the time, trying to score, trying to get points. They. When they don't get the three and out, they're looking the way you guys are looking, coming off the field, confused. Why? What happened? Why didn't we get in the end zone? Like, it's a problem. Do you know what I'm saying? On our defense, when we didn't get off the field on the three and out, or they get down, they get a couple conversions, what happened? There's communication. There's a problem. Like, you need to be able. Like, when we don't score a touchdown on. Oh, why? What. What. What happened? When the defense is not getting off, there shouldn't be a reason, like, stops on D, score on O.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Dude, I was so defensive.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Like, I.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Like, I wanted our defense to be out there and us to be down by three or us to have to, you know, make a stop on. Like, dude, I wanted our defense to be in the situation to win the game. Like, offense don't score. That's cool. Like, yo, we get to go out here and win it. Sack, fumble, touchdown, interception, touchdown, whatever it may be. Like, that's what we was starving. We was hungry for. Like, yo, let's get out here. Let's get an opportunity like, oh, come on. It's two minutes left. We down. We down. And, you know, we got all our timeouts left, but we gotta. We gotta go ahead and punt the ball over to him. All we need to do is three and outer sack, fumble. Like. Yeah, that's what we looking for, bro. We was looking for that, bro.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Thirsty? No, I know.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Starving. I was parched.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
See, now, that's what great defenses do.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
But you knew y' all was gonna go make the plays when you got. When you go out there and you got 10 other dudes that you looking at that know exactly what they about to do. Which one of us about to make the play. You fighting, not fighting over who about to make the play. Everybody's just in a right position, and whoever it comes to, they're going to make their play.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Bruh. Sitting there like, all right, who it gonna be? It could be Troy. It's gonna be me.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
It's gonna be Wood.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Who it gonna be? It's gonna be Ferris. It gonna be rc. Is it gonna be who?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Who is it?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Go be like, who's it gonna be? It go be Keezy. It's gonna be Aaron Smith. Who's gonna be somebody. Go do something like, we gonna go and do something like, we get out.
Mangesha Tekalur
We get.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
We get to go out here and have the opportunity to go ahead and stand up. Was loving that opportunity, bro.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Check the 2000 Ravens. Go ahead, Check them out.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Check them out.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Check their numbers against ours.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Go ahead, run it.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Run it. Run it. CT. Go ahead, run the numbers. Please do.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
2000. Ravens versus.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Look at it.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
2008.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
2001. Whatever. 2008. Look at it. Please run it now. Don't forget, it's more passing than 08.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
And we still gonna have more numbers. We still gonna have better numbers.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Let's go. Check it out. Tell your boy. Check it out. Joe, let's get into these super chats, bro. We got one from Tuesday. Helsink. Hell.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Heckle Sante.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
$5.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
He said the Steelers have JPJ and ASJ. He's talking about Joy Porter and Asante. Asante Samuel Duo. Debo Dual. See?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Dual. Dual cornerbacks, dude on. On D
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
defense is what he's saying. On D. Debo with James Jr. And Joy Jr. Who is James?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Who is James Jr. Who is Joe Jr. You got a jojo?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I don't know what he's talking about, buddy.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Steelers will have high pedigree, bud.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Lines on defense. They were.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Oh, I think he's trying to say your son would be Joe Junior. My son would be James Junior.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Even though I'm the junior, my son is the third. I'm the junior. My dad's a senior.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Your son Joe.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yeah.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Junior.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
He's saying Joey the. Joey the fourth.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
The fourth.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Your son the fourth, my son the fourth. I'm the third.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You the third?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yeah.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yeah.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Joseph Walter.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
He's talking about your daddy. Talking about your daddy and me playing on the Steelers defense. He just ain't no. Just me and your daddy getting out there.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
He ain't know that.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
He meant to say the third and the fourth. We got you. We got you, though. We got you.
Jennifer Arniece
Yes.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
The pedigree that. You got to realize something like my pedigree, my bloodline, and my pedigree was
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
a little different than Joe's bloodline, his pedigree. See, I came. I came from. I came from the bottom. My pedigree wasn't nothing. I ain't had nothing before that. You know, Wasn't nobody playing no ball before that. You know what I'm saying? I had a. I. I had nothing but. But a.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
A hope, a prayer, all that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Like, I just went through it, and I just grind my way through it, and I got. You know, I got into a situation that was lucky, you know, Joe, that boy just had it. He said he had it from when he was 2. He said I woke up.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
He said.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
He said, I came up out of there and I knew I was him. So, you know.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
No, no, no, no, no. We was grinding. We was grinding, Debo. We was grinding.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I understand you was grinding, but you told me, like, soon as you touched the field, you knew you was him.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I ain't know.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Mom and dad was working at Geico.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I ain't know I was him. I know I was him until 2007.

Nora Jones
Hey, I'm Nora Jones, and I love playing music with people so much that my podcast called Playing along is back. I sit down with musicians from all musical styles to play songs together in an intimate setting. Every episode's a little different, but it all involves music and conversation with some of my favorite musicians. Over the past two seasons, I've had special guests like Dave Grohl, Levy, Mavis Staples, Remy Wolf, Jeff Tweedy. Really too many to name. And this season, I've sat down with Joshua Homme, Sarah McLachlan, John Legend, and more. Check out my new episode with Finneas.
Billie (musician)
So I went home and I asked Billie if she wanted to sing it. She immediately made it her own thing. No fair. You really know how to make me cry when you give me those oceans.

Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I had already been playing for five years. Joe.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Chill out, Debo. Chill out.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I'm just being real, Joe. I'm just being real, man.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I'm telling you.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Tell me what? God love. That's the truth, baby. We got Covenant life. She back. $20. She said everybody crowning the Rams.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
But if Miles Garrett was the missing piece, why didn't Cleveland reach a Super Bowl? Because they didn't. They had too many missing pieces. Way too many missing pieces. And if Trent McDuffie is that valuable, why was KC willing to move on? They ain't want to pay the price. Stars don't guarantee rings. This is a true statement.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
But we got explanations for all that.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
What do you think the reason is that Miles Garrett didn't bring y' all super bowl and Trent Duffy was given away that Casey let him go. Joe?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Joe, are you there?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You said what?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Joe, man, you need to do something
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
with your Internet, brother.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I said everybody's crowning the Rams.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
But if Miles Garrett was the missing
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
piece, why didn't he.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Why didn't Cleveland reach a Super Bowl?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
And if Trent McDuffie is that value,
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
why was Kansas City willing to move on? Stars don't guarantee rings. That's Covenant Life. $20.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
This is what I'm trying to tell coveted Life don't come after me crazily. The reason why it takes a team to win a championship. These dudes. Trent McDuffie was. He was on the Chiefs. The additional piece. The Rams, they don't have Puka Nakua, they don't have Matthew Stafford, they don't have Devonte Adams. They don't have coach Sean McVay. So when this team, they needed some secondary. So if you go get secondary players that are actually really good, come to a team, Miles Garrett, really good comes as an addition that helps the run defense. I'm not saying it's a guarantee, but it's not going to hurt their team. You know what I'm saying? Their team did get better. And when they did lose, they lost to the Seahawks. Seahawks lost their running back. When you just looking at the next seasons of who subtracted players from where they were the year before, coaching staff, you know what I'm saying? Familiarity. And then you actually just bring in some additional. Just great players. Great players. It doesn't take you too long to kind of adapt to a squad. Like if you can get in there, Myles Garrett's gonna make sacks kind of wherever he lines up. Trent McDuffie's a great corner. Man to man is. Man to man's on his own. So just adding those additional pieces is why I say that their team just got better from what it was with. And I believe in Matthew Stafford and the head coach always have to be there. And Matthew Stafford coming off of MVP season, Sean McVay. You know what I'm saying? And then you still got those players that were already there. And then you add these star players additionally to that team. So it's not like just why didn't the Browns win? Because we ain't had Matthew Stafford. We ain't had Puka.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
We don't have way too many missing pieces.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
We had Kevin Stefanski last year and we didn't. And you know what I'm saying, our team just wasn't moving like that. So when you add take them and put them. Miles Garrett, 23 sacks to a bomb squad. You know what I'm saying? Trent McDuffie's picks to that squad. You're not subtracting nothing from what the Rams already were doing.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I got you, Joe. I got you.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Hear that? Covenant like Covenant like she back again.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
$5. She said the Rams keep collecting names. She said we'll keep collecting Lombardi's. Win the all season if you want. February is what matters. Let's go Steelers. Hey, Joe.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Ooh. Hey, look. Coveted. Coveted.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I'm with you.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm on your side here. I hope that we come and Mike McCarthy and we give them belts. I hope we meet them in the super bowl and give them belt. So TJ A rod, Mike. Let's get to. Let's get through this season. I'm rooting for the Steelers coveted. I'm with you. I want us to sneak for a slide up under the radar. We're going to make the playoffs, and when we get in there, we got to beat who we got to beat to meet the Rams in the championship. So that's the end game goal, I think, on that side that they going to be there. So we'll meet them. I'm not saying we can't beat them. We gonna get there. So we gotta make it to the. We gotta make it to the dance. They gotta make it to the dance, too. But everybody's already crowning them. I think they're nice. They have a really good chance to get there. We gonna sneak in from the radar.
Black American Girl Speaker
Boom.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
We got squad. Everybody needs to ball out.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Who is we?
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Who is we, Joe? Who is we?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Who is we?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
What's up?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Who is we? I keep.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
When I'm talking to Coveted, Debo, we are the Steelers.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)

Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Okay.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
We ain't sneaking in on shit. We stomping.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
We the Steelers.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
When I'm talking to Coveted, we ain't sneaking in. They gonna realize the Steelers.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
When I'm talking to you and me and you. When I'm talking about. When I'm talking about the Browns, sometimes you with me. So we could be a lot. We could be a lot.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You know what I'm saying? When you're dealing with me, Deebo, you know that.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You know that by now.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You French.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm real French when it comes to me.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Not gonna lie. Wee, wee, wee, wee, wee, wee, wee, wee, wee. Echo Sandy back. Said Debo and Joe. I mean, he said Debo and Joe. I was being sarcastic about the juniors being ready to play on my last comment. Just like. Just like to know if you're actively. If they're actively pl. Playing football.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Sante Samuel Jr. Is balling the camp. True statement. JPP and Asante s Jr duel may
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
form the no fly zone in Pittsburgh. You think they go form the no fly zone in Pittsburgh? I like. What's the.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
What's the boy they just got? What's the other boy they just got? I mean, it's.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
We got to get my guy paid first.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That's the first thing we got to do. Okay, man back start feeling better. I believe if we get him paid. But say that I said JP he basically. Did you.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Did you read it? He said basically.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
He said he was being sarcastic about the juniors being ready to play. On his last comment, Heckle Santi. He said he just like to know if they're actively playing football.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Your son actively playing football?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I can't I can't come back.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I said, is your son actively playing football? Your son, Joe?
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Yes, his son plays flag football.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
My sons play actual contact football. So, yes, they are actively playing football.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Now, he asked you if you think Joy Porter Jr. And Asante Samuel Jr.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
The duo may form a no fly zone in Pittsburgh. You think they would be the. They'll be like, yeah, it's a no fly zone. Ain't nothing going down over here. You think they can form that duel?
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Yes. They gonna be strapping. Strapping, obviously. And we got Sean. We got Dean, too.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
That's what I was telling him. That's the one I was talking about. Dean. That's the one.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Come on, man.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
But Covenant life, she back $5.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
She said, Debo, be kind to me. What would be funny? And so entertainment. And so entertainment. If y' all had Butter on the show.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
That would be hilarious.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Say, be nice. She said, man, listen, man, I don't even know if I want Butter on the show. Cause Butter might say something, and I
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
don't, you know, say something crazy.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Butter, go say something crazy, man. And I want.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
You know what? I would love to have Butter on
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
the show, but I want him sitting next beside me.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
He gonna have to sit next to you, though. You don't have to be in person.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
He gonna have to sit next beside me, and we go put Butter on his show.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
That's my good man, Butter.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Yeah, Butter.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
He loyal to the Ravens.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Hey, bruh, he funny. I ain't gonna lie to you, bro. He funny. I'm always gassing on this, on this thing, talking something goofy and crazy.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
CT, $5 said shout out to D Boy.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
And Joe, love the show.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
For show.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
For show. For show. For show. Joe, catch you, CT. Mike.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)

This will be the great content on Battle of the Returns. Joe, you going know. The hell I ain't.
Mangesha Tekalur
I ain't.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Joe, you know, if you've been listening about my hip restraint, there's no way I could go back and try to cover. Unless y' all trying to be laughing at me, right? I'm still moving. I'm still good, but, like, nah, covering.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Not in that area.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Not on the NFL field, on the island. No, listen, if y' all want me to hold the corner. Just hold the edge back and forth. That mug, I give you that. Yeah, you can give you that.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
60 for sure.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I give you that at 60. Anything else? Movement. I can't. I can't do nothing for you.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I can't do nothing for you.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I really don't. I really. I'm really not. I really lost the interest into running into another grown man fool.
Billie (musician)
Joe.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
It's called I ain't.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I done lost my competitive nature to
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
want to do it.
Billie (musician)
Yeah.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Cause it was so normal, though. It was football. That's what we do.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Like, I'm trying to put you to sleep. Every time I hit you, I'm trying to put you to sleep. Night.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Night just was what it was. I'm now I really can. I can really sit back and say I have no interest in running into another man full speed with pads or without pads.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Joe.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Tell me about it.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Joe.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I ain't gonna even lie, bro. I looked at the game. When I started watching the game. Rotator cuff, 86 he AC joint, bruh. I said, ooh, wee. I don't even know if I would have got up from that. If I delivered the hit or took it. It wouldn't have mattered.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
You know how fast you would bounce up when you hit the ground? Like, just like, you would not. You're not supposed to ever be on the ground. So we would bounce up off the ground like it was a trampoline. I'm staying down. I'm getting up. I had to put my hands down. Like, put my arm on my leg real quick. Like, hold up, hold up, hold up.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
That's when you know when you hit that ground and you take a good two seconds to get up. They be like, oh, yeah, he get.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Nah, you not just fall. And I was falling gracefully.
Billie (musician)
Boom.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
I'm falling into the roll to get up. Like, oh, I wasn't even really down, for real.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
Hey, you hitting down on the ground like, shit. Everything in place.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
Oh, fuck.
Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
I can get up.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)

Joe (Joe from NFL discussion)
Damn, that hurt.
Billie (musician)

Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
It's no way to go for that.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)

Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)
And just put it on.
Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)

Black Culture Commentator

Deebo (Deebo from NFL discussion)
I got it on my phone right now. I can send anything from my phone right now, Joe. It's easy.
Joe Burrow (or Joe's perspective in NFL discussion)

Episode Theme:
NFL Contract Dynamics, Running Back Market Revival, Quarterback Rankings, and Candid Reflections on Retirement
This installment finds Deebo and Joe diving deep into the resurgence (or not) of the NFL running back market, player value discussion, a spirited debate over current NFL quarterback rankings, and frank talk about retirement and legacy. The episode is full of personal anecdotes, sharp football analysis, and the back-and-forth style that has made their segments fan favorites.
[03:18–10:21]
“These backs... clock ground and pound, maintain the clock, not take them off the field on third down...” – Joe Burrow (04:19)
“Your average running back... is 2 to 4 million, something like that...Top running backs being able to get that money. And again, once you look at it...they getting paid because they can do it all.” – Joe (06:34)
“The running back market is getting to where it needs to because they're getting as just as much touchdowns. And they're receiving the ball too… Teams are realizing... when you go and give them these short-term deals, [compared to] a wide receiver at $40 million a year, you’re getting [RBs at] $25 million... it makes sense.” – Joe Burrow
[10:56–16:58]
“Words only have as much power as you allow them to have... you retired from the NFL, Fitz. I’m sorry, brother. You’re retired from the NFL as a player. That’s just what it is.” – Joe (12:02)
“I have to use it because I'm like, I ain't going to be able to go back and, and playing that game no more. It's passed me on.” – Joe Burrow (14:08)
“You closed it in a Hall of Fame gold jacket the best way possible... even if you don’t want to call it retirement. I can see what you’re saying, but... we ain’t playing in the league no more.” – Joe Burrow
[25:01–31:14]
“I think Joe Burrow is a better quarterback than Justin Herbert. I’m going Joe Burrow over Herbert for sure.” – Joe Burrow (27:11)
“I would give Dak to five, and I'll put Herbert at the six. So I move everybody down. I flip. I flip. Burrow. I put. Put him to the three.” – Joe (28:40)
“When you say [Lamar Jackson's] number one receiver is Zay Flowers, and that's the third best receiver on the Bengals... if Lamar had a number one, he’d have better passing stats.” – Joe Burrow
[33:13–36:43]
“Y’all pull up that 2008 Pittsburgh Steeler defense against whoever y’all think is the number one... We putting hands on them.” – Deebo (33:18)
[53:03–56:11]
“I really lost the interest into running into another grown man full [speed].” – Joe Burrow (53:41)
[37:11–52:33]
“It takes a team to win a championship... Great players... it doesn’t take you too long to kind of adapt.” – Joe Burrow (45:40)
| Timestamp | Speaker | Quote | |------------|----------------------------|-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | 04:19 | Joe Burrow | “The running back market is getting to where it needs to... they’re getting as just as much touchdowns. The entire conversation is a blend of locker-room realness, expert analysis, and the warmth of old teammates reliving their glory days with humor and humility. There’s plenty of playful trash talk, Steelers pride, and a clear affection for the game and each other.
Summary for Listeners:
If you missed this episode, you missed candid explanations of why running back salaries are resurging, which QBs deserve top billing, and why NFL legends like Deebo and Joe aren’t itching for a comeback—plus lots of jokes about fans, family, and the pain (and pride) of past battles. This is a must-listen for football-heads, Steelers fans, and anyone who loves hearing ex-pros keep it all the way real.
