Wells.
Club 520 Host 3
To my far left we got my dog, Bishop B. Hand out the priest. How you what? Nasty.
Club 520 Host 2
Chilling nasty. Let's get to it, baby.
Club 520 Host 3
Listen, normally he had a uniform no saying he's stunning. The New Jays. Normally he wear the black forces with the white laces. You know what I'm saying? What's some of the craziest shoes you've ever wrestled in? You know, so you got the off whites on the Prestos Classics.
Club 520 Host 1
Come on now.
Ryan Seacrest
These are. These are actually brand new. I picked these up during fanatics fest. Oh I went over to. What was it man, some shoe store. I forgot what it was.
Club 520 Host 3
Fight club.
Ryan Seacrest
Fight Club. Yeah. They hooked it up. But I think the craziest pair I've ever wrestled in is like the Sock Balenciagas.
Club 520 Host 1
Oh yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
I seen that was absolutely terrible. I. And it wasn't on purpose either. I left my boots at the hotel.
Club 520 Host 2
Had to sprain your ankle now.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, I mean I taped it but either way, like you could still like feel it like. And the. The funniest part about it is they made a like a tops card of me doing like a springboard. And it's like the most crooked springboard like that's ever been on the tops card because it's just have no bounds.
Club 520 Host 3
You a hell of an athlete. They have no st. Legitimately socks for sure.
Club 520 Host 1
That's a fact. For sure.
Club 520 Host 3
My right. My dog Young Nacho. Young T. Got you.
Club 520 Host 1
What? Chilling, bro. It's an honor. Right here we got a champ in the building. Y' all know I'm a wrestling fanatic. So to have him here, I done seen his story since a kid.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 1
To see where he is now is pretty dope. So I'm happy to have him on the show. I'm gonna introduce him.
Club 520 Host 3
Shout out to Sean, man. Guys, here at SummerSlam, like we said, it's only right. We got the champ with us, man. We can wait for this episode. Diamond cereal in the building, big dog. Appreciate you sliding on us, man.
Ryan Seacrest
Oh, man, thank you guys for having me.
Club 520 Host 3
I see into Continental champ.
Ryan Seacrest
You know the vibes on the 20 year anniversary too. Yeah, come on now.
Club 520 Host 2
N. It's hard, bro. Man, I grew up watching your pops, man.
Ryan Seacrest
Homie, come on.
Club 520 Host 2
Legend, bro. Like, where was that Royal Rumble? I seen my boy come out. I was geek.
Ryan Seacrest
Which one?
Club 520 Host 1
The last.
Ryan Seacrest
Last one?
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah, it was in our hometown in Indy. Yeah, Pops came out. It erupted in there.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, he's. He's. He's trash. But.
Club 520 Host 2
But it's still athletic though, bro.
Ryan Seacrest
I. For real, he's. He's put. He's. He's pushing 50. He's like 51 now. But I don't know, man.
Club 520 Host 3
It's funny because he's new to the rest of world, obviously he's aware of it, but like for him to be locked in with OG like that made it hilarious.
Club 520 Host 2
That's what made that moment came out, bro. I stood up. I don't do that, fanboy.
Ryan Seacrest
It's the mask. It's like seeing a real life leprechaun. No, no, you get excited because you don't him often.
Club 520 Host 1
See, that was big for me.
Club 520 Host 3
T lifelong wrestling fan for show, tapped in with you spoke very highly of him very early.
Club 520 Host 1
No, I said he was going to be a star. I mean when he first came into the wrestling business, obviously. I seen him when he had the, you know, Eddie Guerrero RP a legend. His pops had a beef and he. They were fighting over who was the father, the custody match against him. And I seen him and it was just like dang custody.
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
You gotta know about this.
Club 520 Host 2
No, I'm. I'm here to learn. So I remember who your dad was.
Ryan Seacrest
So I'll. I'll give you a quick breakdown. So basically you're aware that my dad alleged is a Rey Mysterio?
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
So in 2005, Eddie Guerrero came out and said that back in the day he wrote a book that he was going through some troubles back in the day. He had a kid that he couldn't take care of and that kid was me. Wow. So he came out and started this whole custody battle over me, saying that he is now in the right place and he wanted me back. So they fought for my custody in SummerSlam in 2000.
Club 520 Host 1
Legendary storytelling.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 2
Well, you grew up.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I, I, I did another podcast. I believe it was with Logan and they called it Childhood Trauma for sure.
Club 520 Host 2
That's at the top of the list. That's crazy though.
Club 520 Host 3
Listen, Bori, is Imagine wrestling out.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, yeah. And I was, I was sitting there. So the whole story, I was sitting ringside and I had a social worker with me so like I couldn't go home. There was like a social worker there that was like taking care of me. Like it was like a whole deal.
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah, no, that's hard.
Ryan Seacrest
How were you then? Yeah, I was eight, eight years old.
Club 520 Host 2
Oh, they started you at the trenches early.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah, yeah.
Club 520 Host 2
You jumped off the porch early.
Club 520 Host 1
Been on TV for.
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah, that's hard though, bro. That's a hard story.
Club 520 Host 3
Nah, legendary storyline for sure.
Club 520 Host 1
So now to see like the fans react to him and like even like when you won the belt, we were there at WrestleMania.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 1
And how crazy everybody went like, what's that feeling like, bro?
Ryan Seacrest
Honestly, it was, it was pretty surreal because like I wasn't expecting that reaction, you know, I, for me, you said you're new, right?
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
I got you. For the past two years I've been getting booed relentlessly. Like I like doing this out in public. Like I'd get booed. Like people don't let me talk. It's like a thing. So the fact that, the fact that I was able to go out to Wrestlemania and like my music hit and I was getting booed and then as the match started going, I just kept hearing my name kept getting chanted and then it just kept going, the song. And then as soon as I won and the crowd went crazy, I was like, this is, this is kind of nuts. And then I'm still out here getting boots.
Club 520 Host 2
Why though? Why they booing you? You the villain.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, I, cuz I turned on, I, I, I turned on my dad. My deadbe dad.
Club 520 Host 2
You out of pocket. That's why I was saying you now. Okay, I'm with it now.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. So I, I, I claim to be the greatest mysterio of all time. I'm third generation, so like my great uncle and then my dad, so, so I claim to be. And then my uncle has a son too, so he's out. So there's like four of us out there.
Club 520 Host 2
I mean, do you walk around the family gatherings with the belt on?
Ryan Seacrest
I mean, if you got it flaunted, right.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah. As you should respect.
Club 520 Host 3
I, I gotta ask, we know, we ask what people did before the sport but growing up in the sport, what was that like? You know, I'm saying, growing up as a kid, being around a business and now being a big part of it, is there any differences or, like, seeing it earlier, what it is, and the way it's evolved and now you being a big part of it, is it changing you at all? Is it just kind of, like, made you ready for the moment?
Ryan Seacrest
I think it was. I think it was more of like the. Yeah, let me turn it off.
Club 520 Host 2
You good, bro?
Club 520 Host 3
Are you good, bro? Yeah, that money's.
Ryan Seacrest
But no, honestly, it was. It's. It's kind of surreal because I do things now as an adult based off of what I saw as a kid and how certain things were being done. So, like, I picked that up as a kid, and now I do it as an adult. So, like. Or even stuff that I saw, like, my dad didn't do. So, like, I'm doing it now and then also, like, just growing up in it, knowing the business, knowing the ins and outs, like, having more respect for it now, being in the industry, you know, for having respect for the grind, being, you know, on the road 360 days out of the year, you know, no days off. So, like, that definitely gave me a lot more respect for. For what. What we do now.
Club 520 Host 2
Okay.
Club 520 Host 3
I can't even imagine what you would have done. Is there anything else you wanted to do outside of wrestling or you thought growing up you might have. Want to dabble into it? Just knew, like, wrestling was going to be it?
Ryan Seacrest
Nah. So, honestly, I was never really good in school as far as, like, grades go. But I played. I played sports. I played soccer and football growing up. You know, I was Mexican, so of course I had a soccer ball on my. On my left foot. But no, I went to JC and never really, you know, did anything. So I was. I. I told Pops. I was like, you know what? Let me give it a shot, see what happens. And then he. He told me before I even started training, he's like, when you get in there the first day, he goes, I'm gonna know if basically if you're gonna be dog or not, because I'm gonna let you know if you got it. And if you don't, he goes, first day, I'm gonna let you go. Go back to school. So here we are now.
Club 520 Host 3
Damn.
Club 520 Host 1
He wasn't dog.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. Greatest mysterio of all time. Clock it.
Club 520 Host 3
If I could ask, what's that first day like for you? Because, like, he's like, all right, I'm jumping off the porch. What's that first moment where you gotta really lock in?
Ryan Seacrest
Honestly, it's. It's different for everybody because, like, you know, there's different training and like, wrestling schools. So, like me, for example, I was able to start training Lucha style with, you know, my dad, Ray Mysterio, and my godfather, Conan. But I remember specifically, like, a lot of people run the ropes, maybe learn how to bump. I rolled like, just Lucha rolls straight for 2 hours, non stop to where, like, I get dizzy, want to throw up and then be like, no, just keep rolling all around the ring, just for hours, hours. And now I'm pretty sure I didn't learn how to like, bump until like, maybe a couple months in.
Club 520 Host 1
Wow.
Club 520 Host 3
Damn.
Ryan Seacrest
Damn. So, yeah, everyone. Everyone's different because then after that I went to. Lived in. In Tampa, Florida for six months, trained with Jay Lethal, came home for a month, and then out to Calgary in Canada, trained with Landstorm for another three months. So I just did a bunch of like, different little training camps to try to get a little bit of everything. And then sure enough, when the opportunity presented itself, I jumped on it.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah. Your godfather is Conan?
Ryan Seacrest
I have. I have six Lucha godfathers.
Club 520 Host 1
Wow, okay.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, all old school, like WCW wrestlers. So I. You might know him, you might not, but I'll. Juventud Guerrero.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Psychosis.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah, yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Damien, he. He wrestled in WCW, as in the LWO. Damien666. Who else we got? Supercalo.
Club 520 Host 1
I don't know though.
Ryan Seacrest
He's the. He used to come out in WCW with like a, like glasses, silver mask, and like a hat. Never fell off. And then Vienna, he was another luchador. Yeah, I might be missing one.
Club 520 Host 1
I ain't gonna lie. I used to like psychosis.
Ryan Seacrest
I got psychosis added on, right? Yeah, I swear, I'm not giving y' all a finger. I'm just.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah, I used to like psychos.
Club 520 Host 2
What did all the rolling around help you do, though? What was all that for?
Ryan Seacrest
It's. It's different because it's like Lucha style is very, you know, when you take certain moves, you gotta roll. Getting out of the ring or just, you know, it just. It's part of the basics that you got to learn, you know, in. In like American style, it would be running the ropes. Probably getting it first. Lucha style. You got to learn new roles.
Club 520 Host 2
Okay.
Ryan Seacrest

Hi, it's Colin from the Colin Coward Podcast. That would make sense that I would be the host of the Colin Coward podcast. I mean, that's the way I see it. I've been around long enough to know quality when I see it. Or in this case, when I taste it. Tito's Handmade Vodka. Good stuff. No flash, no gimmicks. Smooth, clean tasting. Made the right way.
Ryan Seacrest
Okay.
Colin Cowherd
I like things that are built to last. A great team, a well run organization. Same goes for my vodka, Tito's. Made in Austin, Texas. Real care, attention to detail, distinct, crisp taste. I was just telling my wife the other day, Tito's is the one vodka. It has a completely distinct taste. Been my go to for years, so I like to keep it simple. Tito's Soda, one lime, lot of ice. Refreshing, easy. Summer, winter, spring. Totally versatile. Always works. Listen, baseball season's here. Your team's going to play 162 games. A perfect time to kick back with some Tito's. Club 520 Host 2
That's cool. What's the hardest part about this wrestling?
Ryan Seacrest
Probably living through the pain. Because no matter what, you're always going to have aches and pains and the traveling and stuff. And it's like people don't really realize, like, the kind of toll it actually takes on your body. Like, your back calluses up because the ropes are so hard. And like, first day you run the ropes, like your back is completely bruised. So, like, your body's got to get used to that. Taking the bumps and going through all this other. And then having to do it again the next day.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
So it's like just constantly having to do it. No matter if, like, you're hurting, you gotta.
Club 520 Host 2
If you're not having a recovery routine or nothing for it.
Ryan Seacrest
I mean, I probably should be better as far as, like, getting home and like, doing the ice baths and then getting massages and stuff like that. But I'll just sit in my game room.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Just play Call of Duty.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Come on now.
Club 520 Host 3
Okay.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah. I'm trash icon. I ain't gonna lie.
Ryan Seacrest
I mean, I'm not. I'm not great, but every now and then I get a little sweaty in there.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah, I'm trash. You streaming?
Ryan Seacrest
No, no, not yet.
Club 520 Host 2
Okay, bro.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah, we gotta tap in. We gotta have to champion. He'll be legendary there.
Ryan Seacrest
I'm down.
Club 520 Host 3
I gotta.
Ryan Seacrest
I got a wall of controllers because, you know, I get a little Mexican angry.
Club 520 Host 3
Crash out now.
Club 520 Host 2
Your streaming room will be a vibe then?
Club 520 Host 3
Most definitely. Listen, man. Favorite part of the show, moments with John. Want to ask? You know what I'm saying? You go through the ropes, become your own man. Become Your own name in his business, you start getting them checks like you demand. This business. What's that first crazy purchase, man. Not nothing responsible, not the house, not no family. Which he was like, nah, it's time, man.
Ryan Seacrest
The cr. I. I think my first big purchase was like, probably my car. Probably my car. Or I. I went a little crazy on at the LV store. I went a little crazy at the house.
Club 520 Host 3
What car did we get, though? You brushed over that real quick.
Ryan Seacrest
I gotta. I got myself a Range Rover. Yeah. But I started doing a little, like, man, it's not a good habit to have, but every Wrestlemania that I'm on, I get myself a new watch. Oh.
Club 520 Host 1
Nothing wrong.
Club 520 Host 3
See the watch right there?
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. So this was. This was Wrestlemania.
Club 520 Host 2
I with it.
Ryan Seacrest
Chime in, you know.
Club 520 Host 3
See, Freaky Mike, producer. That's what he be on. You know what I'm saying? Every time we go platinum, he get a new watch.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah. That's why I got an apple watch.
Club 520 Host 3
He being modest right now.
Ryan Seacrest
Okay.
Club 520 Host 2
Are you a watch.
Ryan Seacrest
Did you say Freaky Mike?
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah, it's Freaky Mike.
Club 520 Host 2
Yeah. That's my artist.
Ryan Seacrest
That's right. Okay.
Club 520 Host 3
Ask him what his finisher is.
Club 520 Host 1
I don't know.
Ryan Seacrest
I don't know if I want to know. Whatever, Rocky stink face. That's. That sounds like some freaky. I don't know you very well.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. I started. I started getting into myself a little. Nice little collection. I used to steal my dad's watches before I got my own.
Club 520 Host 2
You've been the opposite.
Ryan Seacrest
You know, I would. I would steal his watches and go out and I used to steal his cars, too, as a kid and just, you know, drive out and about how long he's taking pops and stuff.
Club 520 Host 3
And Pops. Right. I know he had that shit, too.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, he had some good stuff. I would walk around and they'd be like, how'd you get that? You know, Worked hard. Worked hard. Sneaking in, making sure he didn't hear me in the middle of the night.
Club 520 Host 3
Especially this top of it. It's funny because we talked to all the wrestlers. They talk about the. The time commitment. No time to really recover. But as much as I got to get to different places.
Club 520 Host 1
Pops on the Rose.
Club 520 Host 3
He probably didn't even know. He probably hit the block in the whip. He's been gone for two weeks. Ain't noticed.
Ryan Seacrest
100. He. It's funny. He used to have an Audi R8. I put all the miles in it because he was gone. And I would. I. I told my mom, I'd be like, hey, I'm going to school. And then she didn't know which car. I just grabbed the Audi and bounce. And by the time. And I didn't have a license either, so by the time they were, my mom would call me. I'm like, already down the freeway, I'm like, sorry, I'm. I got to get to school.
Club 520 Host 2
For sure.
Club 520 Host 3
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 1

Club 520 Host 3

Club 520 Host 2

Club 520 Host 1

Ryan Seacrest

Club 520 Host 1

Club 520 Host 2

Club 520 Host 1

You can't, you know, you've been banged up for a while, man. You finally get clear. Now you got a chance to go against AJ Styles. SummerSlam. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. How you feeling about it, man?
Ryan Seacrest
I'm feeling pretty good. You know, It's. It's my 20 year anniversary, so I feel like SummerSlam is like a big pay per view for, for the Mysterio family, being that I debuted as a kid in SummerSlam and then as a wrestler, I debuted at a SummerSlam and then when my dad had his first ple with the company, it was at SummerSlam.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
So, like, this is, this is a special, special event for us, you know, especially coming back now 20 years later and as a champion too. It's like no one's fighting for my custody. We're fighting for this. And, you know, I'm walking in and out as a champ. So, like, I'm. I'm looking forward to it for sure.
Club 520 Host 2

Club 520 Host 1
I'm looking forward to the entrance. Yeah.
Club 520 Host 2

Ryan Seacrest
I'm gonna look for you, make sure you're on your feet. Like, different. Pops better stand up. Yeah. Now he's getting it. Yeah.
Club 520 Host 3
The funny thing about it is we.
Ryan Seacrest
Don'T know for the third we had that confirmed. Yeah.
Club 520 Host 3
We don't know where we're sitting, but we will go.
Club 520 Host 2
Our boy David said we on the floor.
Ryan Seacrest
I'll figure it out.
Club 520 Host 1
We gonna make it work? Nah, for sure.
Club 520 Host 3
Listen, you've been a part of a lot of matches, a lot of things going on What's a crazy moment or a wild memorable moment that people may not know? I know we got from the Netflix documentary. I'll just get a little bit of behind the scenes stuff. But what's a crazy matchup moment that people may not be too privy to, but you tapped in with?
Ryan Seacrest
So there's actually a really. It's a good moment for me, not so good of a moment for the other person. It was, man, I want to say backlash or when. When Finn and Damian won the tag team titles against Sammy and Kevin and they had that big street fight. When I first came out, I came from like the side, not the main entrance. The camera guy and the cord came up so, like, it was almost like waist level as I was running through, so I had to jump over it, almost like hurdling it. And you couldn't really see it, so they had to slow mo it. And the guys in the camera crew and like in the truck were like, no, I'm just hurdled this cord and that kind of threw me off. So the bad part was when I came in, I hit Kevin Owens with the edge of my elbow and I just sliced them. Like, it was like a perfect slice where I like barely nicked them. And it got him completely and he came out and he was just dripping blood. So I think that's like one of those moments where people don't really know that, like, there was like a cord in the way. So, like, I mean, I was still going to hit him, but like just. It was supposed to be like that.
Club 520 Host 3
So what's that conversation like? I know like paying receiver. What's that conversation after the matches? Just like, ah, it's part of business or I'm gonna get you back.
Ryan Seacrest
It was. It was more of like, like, here's a water bottle and a towel. My bad. Like, I, I obviously, I didn't mean to hit him with my elbow, but, like, I don't know, I wrestled him a couple times and I came out unscathed. So I think we're good. I want to say we're good.
Club 520 Host 3
You guys, about the pay receipts part. Yeah, yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
I've been told my frog splash is a little heavy, so I've. I know I've gotten a few receipts after that.
Club 520 Host 2
How many injuries have you had in this?
Ryan Seacrest
Oh, yeah, not many, thank goodness. But I've my. My more serious ones. Like, I. My ribs. A couple weeks ago, I dislocated my two lower ribs and they were digging into my cartilage. So that was why I was actually like, hurt. Everyone thought I was faking it, but I was actually hurt. And then my first match, as. As a bad guy, I wrestled edge and I did a frog splash, and I cracked my rib and it punctured a lung. And then I finished the match. And then I just remember not being able to catch my breath. And I. I told the doctor, I was like, no, no, I'm good. Went back to the locker room. Ten minutes later, I was like, I still can't breathe. I was like, this is like, this ain't right. Sure enough, went to the hospital, and they're like, yeah, you got a pneumothorax. You can't fly home. I was like, oh, sick.
Club 520 Host 2
Damn.
Club 520 Host 3
And what's crazy about that is all right, man. You got about two weeks.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. Literally, they're like, all right, back to it. As long as he's good to go. Can you breathe? He's good.
Club 520 Host 1
That's crazy.
Club 520 Host 2
That is crazy, bro. That's the toughest sport in the world, bro.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, I really do think so.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 3
People feel ways about it, but they're crazy. I'm like. Which I have to endure, especially traveling schedule, which I put your body through. And the way I perform, bro, that's. It's unmatched, bro.
Club 520 Host 1
You gotta really love it. Like, there's no way.
Club 520 Host 2
Because I used to disrespect wrestling. I ain't gonna lie to you.
Ryan Seacrest
Damn. Like that.
Club 520 Host 2
I'm gonna keep it real, bro. I. I went to a. I was about your age, about eight, and I. I went to Wrestlemania. I seen a swing, and they missed, and he fell down.
Ryan Seacrest
Do you remember who that wrestler was?
Club 520 Host 2
My child trauma. I don't even remember him.
Ryan Seacrest
I was gonna say he probably wasn't very good at the job ever since.
Club 520 Host 2
Then, because when he. When I first started really kicking with him, he's a big wrestler. I'm like, bro, it's so lame that you, like, just so entertained by this shit. But then we went in our hometown, and I had a blast.
Ryan Seacrest
Brought you back for real.
Club 520 Host 2
And we sat in there for about four or five hours maybe, and didn't even realize.
Club 520 Host 3
Didn't even realize his first event, wrestling, was worthwhile. Okay.
Club 520 Host 2
I got spoiled.
Ryan Seacrest
That's a good one to go to.
Club 520 Host 2
You know what I mean? So I'm entertained now. I'm tapped in.
Ryan Seacrest
He's back.
Club 520 Host 2
I'm back.
Club 520 Host 3
He's back.
Ryan Seacrest
All right. We got to get you right now. None of this Rey Mysterio bullshit.
Club 520 Host 3
I respect the rest of his.
Club 520 Host 1
No, you like being a hill?
Ryan Seacrest
I love it.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah. I just think gives me more freedom to be able to. To say and do what I want. And it's more of a chance to, you know, ask for forgiveness instead of permission.
Club 520 Host 1
Yeah.
Club 520 Host 3
And you can tell by the response from the fans, they. They rocking with it, too.
Ryan Seacrest
Yeah, I mean, I haven't changed anything, you know, like, and I'm. I'm a dick to them when I see him, you know, and it's like they, they. They get a kick out of it. So, like, for me, I'm just, you know, I'm just doing my. My job. Fun doing it.

Dominik Mysterio [09:21]:

Dominik Mysterio [13:43]:
