Host
I have never seen that, actually. I was just looking at them. I kind of like it, though. I mean, I'm. I'm. I don't hate it.
DJ Wells
Gabby, shake my hand.
Host
Why y' all hate it?
Gabby Williams
No, that's. That's his thing. That's. That's what he do.
DJ Wells

Gabby Williams
Hell of a season you having right now. How you feeling? What's up? You know what I'm saying? First time all star. What's up? This experience, like, I'm feeling good.
Host
I mean, it's been a kind of a weird two, three years. You know, I've been like in and out of the league a little bit, playing with, you know, national team and overseas commitments. So it's just nice to have a full season in the W and for it to be going so well.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. All right, now for our Boost Mobile question, shout out to Boost Mobile, $25 unlimited nationwide. Tap in with Boost Mobile. You familiar with Boost Mobile?
Host
I know Boost Mobile.
Gabby Williams
Hey, tap in. Gabby said she's trying to lock in. You see the vibes for sure. Yeah. Fact, you know what I'm saying? Nice feast. You know, you're a Jordan brand athlete, you know what I'm saying? Having a little bit of up and downs in the W. What's that like when you saw your first shoe contract? I see the commercial, you know what I'm saying? Dropping. What's that feeling like?
Host
My first contract specifically with Jordan was crazy. I was like, I couldn't believe that Jordan wanted to sign me and I was excited about it. Our national team, you know, France is all Jordan. Yes, she is Jordan. So I thought that was a really cool crossover to end because I was doing a lot of stuff. My first presentation with Jordan was the K54 in Paris. So that was a dream come true for sure.
Gabby Williams
For sure. What's that like? You know what I'm saying? Obviously, you know, you big into the fashion and stuff like that. To have those two combined, obviously, with the home country and then the whole Jordan 1 race stuff, and they go crazy over there every year. What's that like to be involved in that?
Host
Like you said? I mean, it's like where fashion meets sport, meets culture meets everything, meets street. So it's just so fun because it's all the things that I love, and I think Jordan brand, like, really represents me as a person and what I like. So just lucky that it kind of worked out that way.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. Yeah. I seen the commercial. I was like, oh, yeah, that's fire.
Host
Yeah, commercial is dope.
Gabby Williams
So since you're a Jordan brand athlete, like he said, we beg on here. We'll get to it. Yeah, go around.
DJ Wells
We love the Georgian store.
Gabby Williams
Now. Let's go ahead and get to it now. 520. We like Jordan now you look around. Everybody over here got a pair of J's committing to S right now. He missed the workout. He ain't get shout out to M, man. Yeah, go ahead. Tap us in, though.
DJ Wells
Oh, they just drive. Does the truck just pull up? Like, how is that? Like, when you get your merch, are you getting 20 pair of shoes? 100 outfits?
Host
Like, yeah, honestly. Yeah, like, everything I have on now is the first time I've put it on. Like, I feel like I don't really got to wear things twice, honestly.
Gabby Williams
Oh, yeah.
Host
So honest. Like, Jordan, between any of the brand I've ever been with. Like, they send us these elite packages every month, so you have what's come coming out. So they always keep us looking nice. For sure.
Gabby Williams
Okay, I'm a shout out. Jeff. Jeff, Jordan, you know, he be writing me on the pie. You know, you texting me sometimes, like.
DJ Wells
Yeah, got the best sweatsuits, bro. I ain't seen that one. That's some new.
Host
But, yeah, I gotta shout out Jazz then. Okay, yeah, the one who signed me.
Gabby Williams
Okay, okay. Shout out to Jazz. Her husband Rock is my guy. Yeah, for sure. That's my man. Shout out to the family for sure. What do you decide to play in? You know what I'm saying? I know you very peculiar with the fashion. You go, whatever's new. You just rock the same pair of a couple shoes. You switching it up, too? Like the outfits.
Host
I switch it up.
Gabby Williams
Okay.
Host
I switch it up. I usually do, like, the same two style, like pairs, like shoes. And then I'll switch up the colors as much As I can. And Jordan has made me some pes, which I've been loved. So sometimes I wear my pes so much that I get sick of them, and then so I try to, like, mix it up.
DJ Wells
She's going.
Gabby Williams
Crazy. Go back to the r St. This is flexing out at all time. High. I loved it. I love it, too. The blase blas? N, man. For sure. We talk about a high school legend, you know what I'm saying? Growing up arena, what was it like? What was the hoop scene out like there? Out there?
Host
O. It was like the tumbleweed, honestly. But honestly, it was. It was like a. It's a small town. Everyone knows everybody. And then my dad had an academy that I grew up playing in, but I would go to, like, the Bay area a lot to get, you know, a bit more competition and exposure. But it was cool because, you know, a lot of my best friends to this day are people I grew up playing against and playing with. So the basketball community is small, but I'm trying to, you know, give back and help it grow a little bit right now.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. Did you play anyone in high school that we would know? That was like, yeah, I met my match a little bit.
Host
Not necessarily in Reno. I mean, when I started playing in Cali, maybe a little bit, I started playing against, like, like, Jordan Canada a lot or Monique Billings. I was playing against them all the.
Gabby Williams
Time, But I'm two Hoopers for sure.
Host
Yeah, yeah. They're my generation. I think I play against Kelsey a little bit, but not necessarily in Reno.
Gabby Williams
I mean, listen, no disrespect. No.
Host
It's a small town.
Gabby Williams
No respect to Reno. You understand yourself. You was like that. We look at where you at now, your journey. You was killing the hospital for sure. Nothing wrong with it, for sure. I don't want to skip ahead a little bit too much with this, but you know what I'm saying. You having a relationship with, like, the Bryant family, so you. Them coming out to your high school games and stuff like that. Like, what's that like when you, like, all right, I made it. Now they come to watch me play.
Host
I mean, that was a full circle moment for sure. Like, and then getting to work out with them and, like, literally learning from the best effort to do it was. Was insane. And, like, it's. It's a memory that I'm just so lucky that I have.
Gabby Williams
What's a Kobe workout? Like, because we always talk about, you know what I'm saying? First in the gym before everybody else. Was it at three in the morning. Four in the morning.
Host
It wasn't. But I asked him, I was like, what do you do, like, with your day now that you. You're done playing? Like, what is a normal Kobe day? He's like, I still wake up at 4, I work out, and then I drive the girls to school. I make breakfast. Like, he's just still very disciplined in just his day of being a dad, which was crazy. But the workout, it was a lot of reps. I remember he would rep everything like, 20 times until you, like, did it perfectly, and then we would go on to the next thing. That's one thing that, like, stuck out about his workout for me.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, that's not my workout. You got five makes next spot.
Host
Yeah.
DJ Wells
Your dad have you playing against the guys growing up?
Host
Yeah, I played against the boys all the time. My uncle, he ran the boys side of the academy. And I actually played growing up. Actually, like, probably primary school, middle school. I was mostly just playing on, like, the boys team, to be honest. Yeah.
Gabby Williams
All right.
DJ Wells
So that tightens your skills up, for sure. You think playing with the guys?
Host
I think it did. I did. It was a bit more competitive, a.
DJ Wells
Little bit more physical.
Host
More physical.
Gabby Williams
Now the defense makes sense now. Yeah, yeah, I get it. It makes sense now. The. The fouls. Yeah.
Host
That'S where the black air.
DJ Wells
We all go. T family already.
Gabby Williams
You go hoop on the black top of. Yeah. Somebody call the police. She going for a record. Your batch is going up. She unlimited for sure. Obviously, you go crazy in high school, and then now it's time to make that college decision. You know what I'm saying? What's that like for you? Because obviously everybody wanted you to pull up.
Host
Yeah, that's it.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
Host
No, I'm internalizing the question.
Gabby Williams
I'm not.
Host
No, no, no, Nothing like that. I think it was like, once UConn started recruiting me, I was like, I'm going to UConn. Yeah, it was pretty cool. I mean, having Geno come to my game the first time was wild. What's actually crazy is the first time they came to watch me play, the assistant, Shay Ralph came to Reno to watch me. And the next day, I tore my freaking acl.
Gabby Williams
What?
Host
The next morning, I tore my acl. So something told me, like, this is destiny. That, like, UConn saw me play, like, right before I was hurt, and I was like, they got a chance to see me and recruit me and get to know them, but I was like, divine timing, I think.
Gabby Williams
Man, I couldn't imagine emotional high and low like, that back to back, like, all right, you come here, then you have an injury. Damn.
DJ Wells
What grade was you in?
Host
I was a junior, and then I redid it my senior year.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, I read the answer. Acl. Two years in a row.
DJ Wells
That's crazy.
Host
It wasn't fun. But luckily Yukon got a chance to, like, check me out before, so things still worked out. And Yukon was like, come get the surgery with us. Come rehab with us.
Gabby Williams
So, like, what is that like, though? Like, I. I had surgery before, but, like, doing it back to back years. Do you get to a point where it's just like, man, I don't know if I'm gonna keep doing this.
Host
When I found out that I needed the second surgery, I, like, I broke down. That was tough. The first one, I was like, okay, I'm still young. I'm gonna get through it. It's fine. Like, I'm a junior. And then when I found out about my senior year, I was like, I have to do that all over again. Like, it was a exact calendar year, man.
Gabby Williams
Damn.
Host
Yeah, it was like, January. And then I had to do it again in January, so that was tough. But once I got to UConn, because I went to UConn like, three or four months later, it was. It was cool. I was like, all right, I'm in something new. I'm in a new environment.
Gabby Williams
So, yeah, people don't know, but after that, they said them first two or three weeks feel like years.
DJ Wells
Yeah, he tore. He tore his. He didn't go to the hospital.
Gabby Williams
And I wasn't. I wasn't an athlete either. No, I definitely couldn't. I had to wait. I tore.
DJ Wells
I thought he was going to walk it off. I said, boy, if you walk off.
Gabby Williams
So I'm going say what's crazy, you know what I'm saying? I had insurance, but it wasn't the coldest insurance. I tore my. In December. Yeah, I tore myself in December, the second week of December. What's in two weeks? Christmas. What's after that? New Year's. So all the doctors, like, yeah, I'm with my family, so I didn't get mine done until after the new year. So I would definitely quit walking around the city.
Host
Boy, some people don't ever get it done, though. Like, some people just live their lives. Like, no rehab, no nothing. What? Like, people. Non athletes, like, but still, like, yeah, I know some people.
Gabby Williams
God bless. Yeah, it's like, okay, not gonna get it fixed.
DJ Wells
Boy, you a demon. Ain't no telling what else you battling in your body.
Host
These Are my problems.
Gabby Williams
If emergency break out, you are in trouble. Yeah. No running. No. You ain't got no side to side. No ducking at all, man. Shout out to the survivors for show there, man. But listen, before we go any further, we gotta show some love. We got a gift for you. You know what I'm saying? Shout out to the people at tommyjohn.
Host
I got a gift.
DJ Wells
Of course.
Gabby Williams
We appreciate you both. Great.
Host

Gabby Williams
Oh, my bad. Sorry about that. Hey, man. Shout out to the good people at Tommy John, man. They sponsored this episode. It is underwear with game pause. Host
I know I'm a clammy girl, so I'm just sweating.
DJ Wells
Was defense always your primary thing or was you like a score first?
Host
Both. I think, like, growing up, I was just a lot more athletic, I think, than everyone. It wasn't even about, like, the basketball at that age. It was just like, you can run faster and jump higher. So I think that allowed me to be a good defender and score. But when I started going to college and, like, playing the pros, I learned that, like, defense is going to keep me on teams. Yeah, defense is going to get me minutes. Defense is going to get me paychecks.
DJ Wells
Right?
Host
So I think that's when kind of like the. Okay, you are actually a defensive mind or player, you know, kind of came.
Gabby Williams
Into play and you start off with a cheat code because you started off in track. Yeah, he was a real athlete before you started going crazy. Dude.
DJ Wells
Yeah. What's your run?
Host
I did hurdles and hi jump.
Gabby Williams
I jump.
DJ Wells
Have you dunking?
Host
I used to. I can't dunk no more. Oh, okay.
Gabby Williams
I believe you were hurdles. You cold?
DJ Wells
Did you Ever try volleyball?
Host
I think I played volleyball, like one season in middle school, but.
DJ Wells
Nah, you probably would have been raw, though. I mean, clearly you're doing what you love, but you demon on the volleyball field.
Gabby Williams
Yes, they make it also.
Host
It was. It was a cute little moment, but.
Gabby Williams
It wasn't the vibes at all. All right, now, you know what I'm saying? You get to the point. Prestigious Yukon, when or don't matter. What's that like walking on campus day one with all them type of expectations.
Host
Yeah, I think I didn't realize, like, just. I mean, I knew Yukon was like the best school and had all these championships, but you don't actually know.
Gabby Williams
That's debatable. I mean, they don't got more, but the best. Who is the best?
DJ Wells
Tennessee up there. That Tennessee got something.
Gabby Williams
Oh, y'. All. Y' all saw some trouble. South Carolina.
Host
No disrespect, but I obviously disagree. Agree.
Gabby Williams
I love that.
Host
Obviously disagree. But anyways, cute moment for shout out to Tennessee. Mad respect, though, for especially what Don is doing right now. I think he is building a dynasty. That's no debate about that. But the dynasty talk about it is definitely. And you feel it as soon as you step on campus.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Host
And then you have to ask yourself, oh, am I actually built for this? Because everyone wants to be cute and everyone wants to have the championships, but it is actually an insane kind of like. Like, I don't know, just pressure cooker environment.
DJ Wells
You got a crazy story about coach you can tell.
Host
Publicly. Publicly, I don't know. I'm kidding. I was actually just talking. I was talking about this yesterday because Paige and I are obviously like, what, 10 years, 12 years apart. And she was like, what was coach like when you were there? And I was like, you know, there's a lot of times where it's like a bit, you know, he's gonna get at you. It's gonna be really hard. You're gonna hate him. And then you get older. And I'm like, he was right about a lot of things. And I don't want. I didn't want to admit it, but that man was right about a lot of stuff.
DJ Wells
Yeah, he a legend for sure.
Gabby Williams
And we gotta talk about your squad too. Damn near everybody in that squad in the W, and dang, they're all stars. Like, what's that like? You walking in with future hall of Famers on the squad?
Host
Yeah, I was thinking about it yesterday when I was seeing, like, Fee and. And Stewie and everyone and Paige. I was just like, dang, we do have still mad Yukon people everywhere. Like, and it's just. Yeah. And like, even if we all didn't play with each other, it all still kind of feels like a family because we all know what the other has gone through. So like I said, he is right.
Gabby Williams
He.
Host
He knows how to make the best product.
Gabby Williams
Yeah. What's old girl from here that played at UConn.
DJ Wells
She went to Heritage.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, I forgot her name.
DJ Wells
She was raw.
Gabby Williams
She was nice, too.
DJ Wells
She was.
Gabby Williams
Wow.
Host
Kristen.
DJ Wells
No, no, not Kristen. She was a killer. She went to Heritage Christian.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
DJ Wells
She had a burner. What's small?
Gabby Williams
I think her name off him, man. I'm mad. I don't remember her name. She was real good in high school. She went to UConn. She. Kelvin Ferris.
Host
Oh, Kelly.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
Host
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
Naptown legend. Yeah.
Host
Kelly Ferris. Yeah. She's from Indiana.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
DJ Wells
She was a bucket, huh?
Host
She was fun to watch at uc.
DJ Wells
And she held it down at a small school.
Gabby Williams
Yeah. So.
DJ Wells
So what was them battles like in practice, though? Yeah, at each other.
Host
Like they. They were at us, I think. Like, they were hard. I mean, coaches just make you. I just remember never feeling so out of shape in my whole life. And I was like the athlete, you know, I was the one running miles and I came. I was like, dang. Maybe I'm not well. Yeah. I wasn't as good as I thought I was. I wasn't as in shape as I thought I was. Definitely not as disciplined. So it's kind of like a you gonna catch up or we're gonna leave you behind kind of thing. And we would always make sure that they always made sure our practices were harder than our games so that we were kind of prepared for anything.
Gabby Williams
Was that like that for y' all too? They were good. Like, he. His. Her coach was proven. So, like, my coach wasn't proven. Okay. My coach died, so the assistant coach wasn't proven. So we did whatever we wanted. What? You know, like they say, the. The prisoners was running. We was running a jail.
DJ Wells
It was another dark ass story.
Gabby Williams
It's true every time. It's true. Like, her coach was proven. They. When you went to UConn, you knew you were going to UConn because you wanted to play for him, Right? And he had set a certain standard. I went to school. My coach died when I got there. So whoever got the job, nobody was like, who's this guy? So we had the same. We had the same process.
DJ Wells
Life's so damn hard over there, man.
Gabby Williams
It ain't. It's just the truth. So, I mean, I didn't want to go to a school like that, though. I didn't want to play for a team that had that kind of, like, prestige.
Host
I just remember coach, like, my when he was recruiting me and he sat me in his office and he was just like, you can come here if you want, but if you don't, you'll just lose. Like, we'll win a championship with or without you. Like, you could join us.
Gabby Williams
I wouldn't have been. I wouldn't have felt good.
Host
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
How did that make you feel?
Host
I was like, okay, I'll come tomorrow. Like, oh, okay. But he does it. He does it to almost all of his recruits. I learned as kind of like a test of like, is this. Do you want it to be about you or do you want it to be about us?
Gabby Williams
Oh, okay, okay.
Host
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
He would have lost me. I was out of that. Like, okay, I'm gonna beat y'. All. That's how I would have took that.
DJ Wells
You would've tried to drop 40 on you, man.
Gabby Williams
I'll try to get 75 on you, cuz.
Colin Cowherd
Here's why April chose to vaccinate her child.
Host
I think actually meeting someone who was not vaccinated and now has a lifelong struggle with a childhood disease really cemented for me that it's super important that we as parents continue to vaccinate our children.

I've been around long enough to know quality when I see it. Or in this case, when I taste it. Tito's handmade vodka. Good stuff. No flash, no gimmicks. Smooth, clean tasting, made the right way.
Gabby Williams
Okay.
Colin Cowherd
I like things that are built to last. A great team, a well run organization. Same goes for my vodka, Tito's. Made in Austin, Texas. Real care, attention to detail, distinct crisp taste. I was just telling my wife the other day, Tito's is the one Vodka. It has a completely distinct taste. Been my go to for years, so I like to keep it simple. Tito's soda, one lime, lot of ice. Refreshing, easy. Summer, winter, spring. Totally versatile. Always works. Listen, baseball season's here. Your team's going to play 162 games. A perfect time to kick back with some Tito's. Oikos presents 15 seconds of strength. Here we go. Steve's got a trunk full of groceries and no one to help him. Oh, that's tough. Jim looks like a five trip load at. He grabs the first bag, the second bob. It looks like he's trying to do it all in one trip. He shimmies the door open, steps over the dog. Oh, and he stumbles. Oh, right into the kitchen without missing a beat. Jim, now that's a man who eats his protein packed Oikos.
DJ Wells
With 15 grams of complete protein in each cup, Oikos Triple Zero can help.
Gabby Williams
Build strength for every day. Oikos stronger makes everything better. All right, now listen. Second year, you know what I'm saying? You do what UConn does best. What's that feeling like?
Host
Yeah, I don't know. It was. That was a crazy feeling.
Gabby Williams
National championship, undefeated season.
Host
Undefeated, too. I just remember it was Stewie's last year and she was like, let's just make memories.
Gabby Williams
And like, was it easy?
DJ Wells
Yes.
Gabby Williams
Be honest.
Host
No. No, it was not easy.
DJ Wells
You didn't pop the whole show. Keep it real, y' all was really.
Host
It was not easy.
Gabby Williams
Y'. All. Y' all walked through that.
Host
Yeah, but like I said, because what we did behind closed doors was a lot.
Gabby Williams
Okay, so practically hard. Was the games easy?
Host
The games, we were well prepared for that.
Gabby Williams
They put belts to ass all season.
Host
Playing with Brianna Stewart, though, also makes life. Yes. Games are much easier.
Gabby Williams
Y' all was killing people. I was like, oh, my goodness.
DJ Wells
You remember your best game that year?
Host
I was excited about the Final Four because I got to, like, start and I had like a big role in it and everything. Cause my first year that we won, I didn't really play very much. So it was cool to be like, okay, I played a part in this one.
DJ Wells
No, that's fine.
Gabby Williams
Now the next year. What's that like?
Host
The next year was. The next year actually started off pretty good. Yeah, started off good because everyone was like, what are they going to do without Stewie, Mo and Tuck? And it was Kind of up to, like, me, Fee, and Lou to kind of, like, be the next, you know, core. And it was going better than anyone expected, which was cool. Like, we were beating all these. Beating everyone's expectations. And then the Mississippi State game.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, we ain't gotta talk about that.
Host
Just weren't ready for their Final Four.
Gabby Williams
Going to the Final Four, though, Like, dude, like, are they excited? Like, the UConn fans is like, yeah, we made it to the Final Fours. They're like, ah, it's a let down.
Host
Nah, they live for the Final Four. UConn fans.
Gabby Williams
I mean. Cause I feel like if you don't go to the championship and you're at UConn, it's like, yeah. And one loss, it's crazy. Like, one loss is like, oh, damn, we had a messed up season. Everybody else was like, we had a hell of a season. We lost one game. Wait for us go to the Final Four.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
Oh, we building new things.
DJ Wells
We want to lose. It's definitely biting.
Gabby Williams
Beer kick for sure. For sure. That's a game you call. They like, damn it, gotta get them next year.
Host
I mean, my record was, like, something. However many wins and three losses, but two of those losses were a freaking national championship, you know, like, there were two big losses.
Gabby Williams
I mean, but I don't care about.
Host
That record and how.
Gabby Williams
It's like, I lost three games. Lost three games.
DJ Wells
Realistically, that is unbelievable.
Gabby Williams
I know I'm jumping ahead, but what's that like when you only lose three games in college and then you go to the W or you go overseas and now you lose, you know, three in the Murphy game? Like, what?
Host
I think it was kind of a weird relief of, like, not having kind of pressure. It was a different kind of pressure because it was my rookie year. I was trying to find my way, but I just remember just trying to keep, like, my head above water and just trying to, like, learn the ropes of the W. And I was just focused on we weren't winning. So I was just focused, I think, on a million other things of just trying to, like, figure myself out in the league.
Gabby Williams
Yeah. Now Freaky Mike pulled up your record. That's crazy.
Host
148. Yeah. But all I think about are the two. Even the one. All three were in overtime. All three were. Yeah.
DJ Wells
So you damn near went 151.
Gabby Williams
You hear?
DJ Wells
Sad.
Gabby Williams
She really. For a moment, yeah. She like. Well, not to rehash also, but that makes me say. I know that's a little tough. That's a sensitive subject. For a lot the Guard. I can't think of her name.
Host
Morgan Williams.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, she was balling that.
Host
Oh, no.
Gabby Williams
My fault.
DJ Wells
But she was like, morgan Williams.
Gabby Williams
That's crazy. One, four, eight, three. Yeah, that is. That's crazy. That is insane. Now I want to ask you this question. How you feel like your college career would have been with the nil, though?
Host
Oh, man. Oh, my gosh. I don't know. I was. I remember, like, me and Stewie after the national. Her. Her fourth national championship, like, in a.
Gabby Williams
Row, which is crazy.
Host
Yeah. 40 0. We're getting all this media coverage. And we came back. We were like, what? We got to eat. I was like, we got some minute rice and some frozen vegetables, and that's what we made for, like, our. The celebration celebratory dinner. I think I had, like, maybe some dollar steaks from I don't know where.
Gabby Williams
Y' all was supposed to be in.
DJ Wells
The rover going, you better be glad you didn't get gal.
Gabby Williams
Wait. You at 148. 3. I'm submitting, right? You a legend. I got you. That's what y' all hate. For real?
Host
For real.
Gabby Williams
Like, so Sebastian said that before. Like, they wasn't.
Host
Yeah, because you different. UConn was different because we lived on campus. So we didn't get, like, stipend and stuff. We got, like, food points to the union, but you use those food points, like, in the first two weeks.
Gabby Williams
Wow.
Host
I remember, like, this was illegal, but I was selling my shoes and stuff like I was my Yukon stuff trying to.
Gabby Williams
They should just. That's. That's really crazy, cuz it wasn't like.
DJ Wells
That away for no facts. You was taken care of. But for sure, for y' all to do all this winning and you talking about what we f. To eat, that should be the last thing.
Gabby Williams
Yeah. How do they get. How do they get y' all there, like, to u.
DJ Wells
What is the sale?
Host
Nobody had any. Like, nobody had Nils. It's not like we were the only school that with broke college, you know, broke college kids.
Gabby Williams
No, it was. But they weren't champions.
DJ Wells
We. We older you.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
DJ Wells
It's some schools. People got different perks. He went to Wake Forest. They weren't winning nothing over there. They was.
Gabby Williams
Tell him.
DJ Wells
Hey, we got some minute rights and some pros and veggies.
Gabby Williams
No, no, no, no.
Host
I mean, they fed us like, after before. I get, like, in trouble. They fed us, like, after every practice. We had training say, well, we have breakfast and everything, but, you know, like, we just got off the plane. We're a little probably hungover and get. Get to the apartment and like, we know we're not ordering. Ordering no steak dinner or nothing, so.
Gabby Williams
Oh, no. It would have been lit. And we're joking for the second. I'm telling you right now. Yeah, I need Outback to open up right now. Actually. I just want to check, like, that's what I'm saying. Like, they didn't like, at Wake Forest.
DJ Wells
When we beat Duke.
Gabby Williams
They had everything opened up. Like, come eat for free. Like y'. All that national chip show. I would think, like, whatever.
DJ Wells
The restaurant got ultra.
Gabby Williams
They didn't like a celebration like when y' all landed like y got back. It wasn't like people going crazy or y' all just win too much. So people just.
Host
No, no, no. We definitely party. Like, we definitely. Yeah, yeah. It was like the plane landed. All the fans were there and everything. Like, we'd already partied. I think it was in Indiana. It was in Indianapolis, I think.
Gabby Williams
Oh, yeah. I didn't party. And then intercontinent wasn't open yet. You know, you don't.
Host
No, we definitely had a time. It was like more of the. When everything kind of settled and we were just like in the apartment after and we were like. Like, oh, by the way, we got to go grocery shopping. Like, we have no money. No. No food.
Gabby Williams
Point back to reality. Yeah, they don't. Like, they like people around the city and get y' all free stuff.
Host
What city stores? Connecticut. It's like there ain't nobody there.
Gabby Williams
Damn. If people work at esp, how do they. How do people.
DJ Wells
Out there on my.
Gabby Williams
Mom, only person went to subway at 3am was Jesse.
DJ Wells
You got it.
Host
They had.
Gabby Williams
He didn't make it back.
DJ Wells
You got chick fil A. You got Chick fil a?
Host
They got chick fil A now.
DJ Wells
Yeah, they do. I heard about it. McDonald's. They just want stores.
Host
You tap in.
Gabby Williams
Me hit there were crazy. My boy that's in stores care of.
DJ Wells
The girls, that's taking care of the city. All that money to that city.
Host
That's.
Gabby Williams
Well, now it's a little bit different now it's a little bit different.
DJ Wells
People fit in that arena in G. Yeah.
Host
I think it's like 12,010.
DJ Wells
Come on, man.
Gabby Williams
Go for me. Tap in. But now it's up. Yeah, it's up. They probably getting good money now, but I just. I'm just amazed cuz I'm like, even like, the boys teams, they have really good teams.
DJ Wells
Yeah, we was kids.
Gabby Williams
Yeah. Like, I wanted to go to Yukon since Ben Gordon. Mecca. Okafor.
DJ Wells
All then we was in high school and middle school.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, I'm like, how did they get Rudy Gay to go there?
DJ Wells
Ray Allen went in the 90s.
Gabby Williams
I got. I got go to the league. That's what we open. I gotta go up there and see what's going. Shout out to you, K, man. Procedures program, for sure. All right, now we talk about the league. You know what I'm saying? Find your footing. I want to talk about, you know what I'm saying, playing for the national team. What's that feeling like, holding it down for your people? Going crazy? Especially this last summer. I know y' all metal. Y' all went crazy, but what's that moment like to hoop against some of the best talent in the world? And, you know, it's a little bit of a different game from the W, I imagine, as well.
Host
Yeah, it's a very different game from the W. Playing for your national team is so different. Like, it's. It's a really special feeling because you're just playing for so much more than just, like, basketball, you know, you're playing for your country, playing for your family, playing for your people, and it's just like. Like, every game, you feel like you're fighting for your life. Like, every game feels so heavy and, like, so much pressure on it, which makes it more exciting. But, yeah, it's a different feeling, especially.
Gabby Williams
When, you know what I'm saying, the host country is your home country. That's probably hella pressure.
Host
Yeah, it was like, as soon as Tokyo was over, they were like, y' all start preparing for Paris right now. Like, it was a lot of pressure on us for Paris, for sure, man.
Gabby Williams
You got to face some really good teams, you know what I'm saying? Obviously, you playing in W. What's that moment like, you playing against usa?
Host
I love playing against Team usa. I love playing against familiar faces, and I love, like, showing, like, hey, we can hang, you know, and, like, showing not just them, but showing ourselves.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
Host
Like, look at us. Like, we can hang with them. We just gotta, like, believe, you know?
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. Unfortunately, I don't want to bring this up as well, but we got over here. Yeah. Katie moment.
Host
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
What's that feeling like?
Host
It was, like, I wasn't. Wasn't that upset about that moment, to be honest. Like, everyone asks about that, you know, like, the foot on the line. But there's. I wouldn't change that moment. I would change, like, 50 other moments that happened before that, because we definitely just, like, cracked and kind of buckled under the Pressure the last few minutes, you know, I was like, why would we take this time out now? Why are we shooting contestants threes over Brianna Stewart? Like why? Like where's our help side in this play? Like, those are the things I was thinking about in the last three minutes. That if we could have changed that, that maybe we could silver medal in the home country. Nothing to, you know, so proud of that for sure.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. But it's just funny, the detail moment. That's film mark right there. Walking shoe number contest. How many times did you watch that game? Yeah, how many times did you watch that game?
Host
I think only like once or twice.
Gabby Williams
To be honest, I probably could have never watched it.
Host
Took a long time for me to watch it. I like, yeah, especially like the third, third fourth quarter. I'm like just cringing at a lot of it. But yeah, I don't know. I know it's a moment that people talk about and everything, so.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. But would you say that that summer, you know what I'm saying, prepared you to this great season you having so far?
Host
I think so. Honestly. Just being able to like show myself that I can be good in these high pressure situations, you know, like I can, I can be the moment I can arrive in it just like proving that to myself. I think I needed that most definitely.
Gabby Williams
I want to talk about your game a little bit, you know what I'm saying? I'm tapped in. You know what I'm saying? You got the strong right to left pull up. Where'd that come from? Is that from popsicle being in the gym? Because you hoop a little bit differently everybody else and obviously you don't say the defense there, but the offensive game, you got the half spin and that right to left. You getting buckets off that. What's that like?
Host
Don't be telling them my scout. No way. Hold up.
Gabby Williams
You are all star. They can't stop it.
DJ Wells
Go answer the good one first.
Host
I think like, especially with my mid range, it's come because I used, I used to be just so much more athletic than everyone. So it used to be like all the way to the rim every time. Like get to the room, get to the room finish. And I'm not kind of like, like when I'm playing year round, so I'm tired. But also that chicken. The, the kids are catching up to me a little bit as far as.
Gabby Williams
Like athleticism OG OG damn old school.
Host
So I'm trying to like, yeah, the MIDI helped me kind of still, you know, get to my move. But I just I don't have to get all the way to the rim, you know, to finish.
Gabby Williams
We talk about it, you know what I'm saying? Especially with SGA and other people. The MIDI is back. The midi is back. Yeah, the MIDI is back.
DJ Wells
All right. What's the weakest part of your game?
Gabby Williams
Game.
Host
Now you're really on my scalp.
DJ Wells
Yeah. I watch real film. I'm gonna see if you tell what I've been watching and we can talk about it.
Host
I think my biggest. I'm streaky, so if I start good, I'm. I know I'm shoot. Well, that game, if I start bad, it's gonna be. It might stay bad, you know?
DJ Wells
Yeah, I saw. I saw that in a couple games.
Host
Yeah. Yeah. When you were just doing the scout.
Gabby Williams
Yeah.
DJ Wells
What about going left? You comfortable going left?
Host
Why, you think it's a right to left midi?
Gabby Williams
That's all the answer. I talk to him. Respect.
DJ Wells
Respect. Nah. You cold, though. I'm with you.
Gabby Williams
Nah, I love it.
Host
Not a right to left finish. Right to left midi.
Gabby Williams
Oh, man, I'm feeling the whole report. They watch, they just can't stop it. They can't do nothing about it.
DJ Wells
Nah, for sure.
Gabby Williams
Most definitely. Listen, this season, obviously going crazy. What's that like? You know what I'm saying? Y' all got a hell of a squad up there. A lot of good guards, a lot of vets. Shout out to Skyler. They got a lot of OG weeds right now. What's that like? Obviously the karate is there when y' all play, but what's it like in locker room especially? Y' all having a good push as of late as well.
Host
This has been like an amazing locker room and an amazing environment, like, all year. Everyone's been like, just about the culture and investing in it, obviously. Like, everyone knows the energy that Eweezy brings and everything.
Gabby Williams
She.
Host
She iced us out. She got us all these, you know, our.
Gabby Williams
Money. We got a running feet. That's they dog. We got a running feet, got a running mind.
DJ Wells
Everybody change out.
Gabby Williams
You getting money? Yeah. Watching up here for sure.
DJ Wells
That's dope. Her energy is always high, high.
Gabby Williams
She was our first W guest, sure.
Host
Oh, really?
DJ Wells
Yeah, for sure.
Host
I always tell her she's always doing a side quest 1000, where you got this time to be doing all this?
Gabby Williams
Always on my Tik Tok 1000.
DJ Wells
She stay on the party flyer.
Gabby Williams
So.
Host
Yeah. Oh, yeah.
Gabby Williams
Night to our scout report. Shout out to E Man for sure. Now listen. Great season so far. What's going on? What you got going this Weekend. You going crazy. Your first All Star, you know what I'm saying? Get them FGAs up. What should we look forward to see?
Host
I'm for sure testing out that logo, the 4.0.
Gabby Williams
Okay.
Host
I'm gonna test it out, but I don't know. I'm just going with the flow, going with the vibe, seeing if it's like, if we're really hooping, Are we hooping or what are we doing? But I'm excited about it.
DJ Wells
All right. If y' all really hoover, you're gonna get out there and really lock up, though. You really don't get out there. Be trying to get off.
Gabby Williams
Playing defense in the All Star game is crazy.
Host
No, I'm locking up. I'm showing up in those shoes and so everyone knows that I'm locking up everybody. No, I'm kidding.
Gabby Williams
They think you about to commit felonies. You're gonna rob the locker room. But being Most Improved, like, obviously you on the, you know, you're in contention for most improved defensive player of the year. Yeah. That means you play both sides of the ball. You know, a lot of people, you know, they appraise you for your defense, but not a lot of people talk about your offense. And you gotta let people know you're a bucket in this All Star game. You gotta go for mvp. Okay.
Host
I mean, why not? Okay. Give it a go.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, why not? Why not? You out there. Hey, I was gonna ask you again. Cause, like, some people in the NBA or whatever, they like to take that break, right? Cause you said you play all year round, so, you know, All Stars, that break. Would you rather have set up out and, like, chilled and, like, watch?
Host
No way. No, no. I'm. I'm super excited. I know people, like, want rest, but this is my first one. And yeah, I'm tired. I'm definitely tired, but this is going to be worth it.
Gabby Williams
No, no, for sure, for sure. I'm glad she been on All Star one time, so she can't talk stuff. Yeah. Multi. I feel good.
DJ Wells
It took you seven years to make it, too, didn't it?
Gabby Williams
No.
DJ Wells
How long it take?
Gabby Williams
It was a little quicker. No, I think back to seven. Be honest. I think it was my seven year, actually.
DJ Wells
Seven.
Gabby Williams
It.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Gabby Williams
He's a hater.
DJ Wells
I do my real.
Gabby Williams
I knew it was seven. Like, damn. He really know it was seven. Special year.
Host
It's my first full year and I don't know since like 20. First time I've been here, like, since training camp. Since I think 2020. But that was co.
Gabby Williams
Okay.
Host
So maybe since my rookie year, it's the first time I've been here, like, from day one.
Gabby Williams
I played all my years.
DJ Wells
Overseas play, though.
Host
Overseas is different. It's definitely different. It's not as fast. It's not as physical. It's a bit more like, you have less players who can kind of create their own shot. So it's a lot more methodical. Like, it's a lot more organized, I think.
DJ Wells
Oh, okay.
Host
Yeah. You got to execute overseas.
DJ Wells
Where are you playing at?
Host
I'll be playing in Fenerbahce. Turkey.
DJ Wells
Okay.
Gabby Williams
Yeah, I'm going to Turkey. Are you over there? Yeah. I'm getting a procedure done.
Host
Is that why you got your hat on?
Gabby Williams
Yeah, I'll be over my head. Go get spoiled up.
Host
I have a little needle.
Gabby Williams
I ain't going over there.
Host
Come back with fresh teeth.
Gabby Williams
Over there, too.
Host
They get anything?
Gabby Williams
They get anything over there?
Host
I'm like, what do I need to get done? Let me start. I'm starting to look at myself, like, wait, maybe I could.
Gabby Williams
No, the turkey got. Stay locked in. Stay locked in, man. Stay locked in for sure, man. One more time for our guests. We appreciate you pulling up. We can't wait to see you in the All Star game. Listen, we're gonna be showing you out the Olympics, man. Hold us down. Hold it down.
Host
You know what I'm saying?
DJ Wells
I'm putting you on my draft kings, too.
Host
There we go. Now I gotta fall out.
Gabby Williams
