Introduction and Guest Introduction
The episode kicks off with DJ Wells and Jim welcoming Jade Cargill, WWE Superstar and Queen of the Ring, to the show.
[04:26] DJ Wells:
"We back another episode of Club520 podcast. I'm your host. My name is DJ Wells. We live at SummerSlam with it. So it's only right we got a superstar wiz. But we are going to introduce her last."
Jade Cargill’s Athletic Journey
Jade delves into her background in college basketball, highlighting her dedication and the challenges she faced during her athletic career.
[08:22] Jim:
"Did you stop playing, like, after your senior year?"
[08:27] Jade Cargill:
"No, I went overseas for two years to Le Havre in France. So I did that. But women especially. When I graduated in 2014, we didn't make anything. Like, we barely made anything. And so especially being overseas, I didn't make anything. So I was like, okay, I'm gonna come back. And I got my master's in child psychology, and I did that."
[09:42] Jim:
"That's dope."
Transition to WWE and Wrestling Career
Jade discusses her unexpected transition from basketball to professional wrestling, facilitated by WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry.
[14:56] Jim:
"So how'd you get into wrestling?"
[14:59] Jade Cargill:
"Mark Henry had found me the hall of Fame. Henry, I love him to death. That's like my wrestling dad. He was like, you ever thought about wrestling? I laughed out loud because I was like, wrestling. Like, who wrestles? Like, I haven't watched wrestling since I was, like, 12, because I used to love it. And so I went to a tryout, did amazing. Ended up going to another company, and I had my debut match with Cody Rose, who is our champion, and Shaquille O'Neal was my partner."
Inspiring Role Models
Jade shares her admiration for influential female wrestlers who inspired her confidence and strength.
[16:23] Jade Cargill:
"China, Jazz, and Jacqueline. Growing up, like, I'm from the hood, I didn't see a lot of women that look, like, super built and look like that. And I was picked on growing up because I was so muscular. But I saw these women, and I was like, damn. They look great. They have so much confidence, they're walking out there, they don't give a damn who you are, what you're about. They gonna show you what they're about. I was just like, yeah, I like that. I have to embody that."
Experiences at WrestleMania and SummerSlam
Jade recounts her experiences performing at major WWE events, emphasizing the electrifying atmosphere and her growth as a performer.
[17:32] Jim:
"Speaking of WrestleMania, I wanted to ask you, what was that like? You know, being at WrestleMania. Your first WrestleMania."
[17:38] Jade Cargill:
"That's my second WrestleMania. It was great. The crowd is electric. For me, the bigger the crowd, the more I can embody my character. The smaller the crowd where I'm like, damn, am I doing this right? But the bigger the crowd, the more I come alive."
Balancing Personal Life and Wrestling Career
Jade speaks about the demanding travel schedule of a WWE Superstar and how she manages her personal life alongside her professional commitments.
[23:13] Jim:
"How did your face start off on a match day?"
[23:16] Jade Cargill:
"I get up, I stretch, I meditate because you have to meditate. As you get older, you'll understand, like, yes, your peace and silence means so much. So I meditate, I stretch, I do some abs, I lift a little, go to the ring, hit the ropes a little bit, pray, get my makeup done, get fine, and I'm ready to go."
Memorable Matches and Overcoming Injuries
Jade reflects on some of her most memorable matches, including her return from an injury, and the mental resilience required to continue excelling in WWE.
[35:23] DJ Wells:
"What's one of your most memorable matches or favorite moments?"
[35:24] Jade Cargill:
"I would say the Elimination Chamber because I was coming back from an injury and I had a lot to prove. I was excited to be back, even though I wasn't in shape yet. The crowd reaction was incredible and the storyline added so much depth to the match."
Insights on the WWE Women’s Division
Jade praises the current state of the WWE Women's Division, highlighting the high level of competition and the quality of matches.
[37:08] DJ Wells:
"I like looking at you and Bianca, like, who's stronger? Y'all both so powerful in the ring."
[37:13] Jim:
"She owns some."
[37:17] Jade Cargill:
"I am that. I love that the women's division is the best division right now. They put out the best matches, and I'm looking forward to seeing who comes next."

[40:22] Jade Cargill:
"We’re going to celebrate before we get out of here. We wish you luck on your match, man."
[40:26] Jim:

[40:29] DJ Wells:
