Back then, our OG5, 20 days, we're gonna introduce my man's last to my far left, my dog, Bishop B. Hand out the prelice. How you what? Nasty.
DJ Wells
Cool and nasty. Let's get to it, baby.
Bishop B
Hey, T. It's crazy, you know what I'm saying? We started this podcast. My boy was in the black forces, white laces. Now I'm saying, now he just taking fines every week. And he done showed up today in.
Young Teague
All whites, man, he don't care, man.
Bishop B
He don't care no more. Check that cash, man.
Young Teague
He don't care no more.
DJ Wells
Fuck that chick, man. Introduce that nigga so we can go doordash.
Young Teague
Doordash chick came in. That's how he acting. That's crazy.
Bishop B
Finally.
DJ Wells
That's a quick return.
Bishop B
It wasn't that quick. To my right, my dog, young Nacho, Young Teague.
Young Teague
How you. What, man, I'm chilling, bro. You know what I mean? We got a homie in the building. One of my closest teammates, one of my favorite teammates. But I gotta say something before we start. Oh, Buddy had y'all messed up in Lexington. Oh, yeah, I seen little homie.
Justin Jefferson
It was on Don Mitchell's coach, high.
Young Teague
School coach, whoever he is. Don't ever disrespect.
Justin Jefferson
I don't think he watched a lot of basketball. Then. Jasper Johnson, that's the young kid. He's top. Top 10 in the country.
Young Teague
Yeah, and he tried to disrespect Lexington like that and saying, who shoving Mac? Y find out. What are you talking about? But he was by the dodo, for real. I ain't going to hold you all. He was.
Bishop B
That's crazy.
Young Teague
They was about it, though.
Bishop B
I don't know who flexing harder day he ain't with the off whites or you with the. With the T. Scotts.
Young Teague
He's like paper, though. I hooping these, man.
DJ Wells
That's who we got die for.
Bishop B
We are not seeing you in the victory next week.
Young Teague
Oh, my mama, not next week.
Justin Jefferson
Next week, Cincinnati.
Young Teague
All right, man.
Bishop B
But to my left, like I said, return against family of the show. One of the coldest college basketball players of all time. My man from the Lex going crazy shelving. Mac, Big dog. Appreciate you sliding on us again, homie.
Justin Jefferson
Yes, sir, man. Appreciate you having me. I love your podcast. What y'all doing? Listen to all the stories. Know all of them true. A lot of people think they not true. Most of them are true. And I Lived it, been around and seen it all.
Bishop B
So you've been a part of them stories, you know what I'm saying? I ain't made it, but that's why we got this episode. The crazy part is, man, the six degrees of separation with you in this episode and the whole gang is funny. Like, y'all gotta talk here about how you first met Shel, man, because there's a reason why. Because that's how he met Teague and vice versa.
DJ Wells
Well, yeah, this one right here, I met him. He had on a black shirt, some football jeans.
Justin Jefferson
I was from Lexman. It sound about Right Foot.
DJ Wells
Albert Fed Apple jeans. Mind y'all, this is 2008. This is 2008. You know my dude Barry. Shout out to my dog Barry. He was cutting bro hair. And then, you know, Shell just wanted to link up with the black people, so I didn't know he was going to the NBA. I had him in the trenches getting his hair cut. Yeah, he was at the dice games, at the trap.
Justin Jefferson
I got put in office plenty of times. Everyone thinking. Thinking something different of Behan on Butler's campus all the time.
DJ Wells
Yeah, shout out to Brad Stevens, man, I love you. They thought I was trapping. I had the 26es on the 300.
Young Teague
The funny part about how you look like Ice cube, bro, on JD Promoters.
Bishop B
Damn. You had to blow the 300.
DJ Wells
My shit was way better than Cube. No janky. But, yeah, I had, you know, I took care of my dog wives here. I wouldn't have had him in them type of situations if I knew he was going to the league, like. But he was always good with me. And he a Tremors legend.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, he had me in. Tremors was Keyshawn. What's it, dude who that we went to go see you was over getting to it.
DJ Wells
Nah, I took you to Waka Flocka.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah. Yeah.
Bishop B
And Tremors, you did not want my boy to go to the draft.
Young Teague
He was trying to get you.
Bishop B
He put you in the dangerous.
DJ Wells
Nashell was in the trenches of Indianapolis, but Butler is right in my ghetto. So, you know, it was right there, 38th Street.
Bishop B
Yeah, man, that was so funny about it. Cause when we was at Butler, like, it was, like, funny to see people come to the school and, you know, the Panthers at Butler don't tell you anything south of 42nd Street. They just show you that Butler bubble, which is a for real bubble out the way. If you didn't know, you wouldn't know. But when my roommate taught me, he walked to that gas station on 38th of Illinois with the McDonald's.
Justin Jefferson
Yes.
Colin Cowherd
Truly.
Young Teague
Yeah, he was trying to get it.
Colin Cowherd
Truly.
Young Teague
He was trying to get put to sleep.
Bishop B
He was trying to make that his last RO.
Young Teague
That was going to be his last McChicken. I don't know what he was on.
Bishop B
Ultra Frame, but it's so funny. Like, you said that, but Bubble, you safe over there, but outside of that, it gets spooky. So y'all linking up over there was funny. And I was on campus at the time, and I remember him pulling up. Butler Petey knew this nigga by heart. But with the cars, man, that was crazy as hell. They really thought you was trapping out there.
DJ Wells
And bu. People telling on me. He said I was giving them liquor.
Justin Jefferson
And all kind of stuff.
DJ Wells
Like it was crazy. I wasn't even 21 yet, for real. But I was just over there partying, you know, make sure my guy was straight. Shout out to my dog. Emerson Grant just saw Ron Ryan coaching for Atlanta. Shout out to Ron.
Bishop B
Shout out to Coach norad.
DJ Wells
Yeah. Shout out to Gordon and my guys. My boy Avery Jukes, too. That's my dog, too. Me, Avery Jukes. Used to. Well, I can't speak too much on that, but my dog, my dogs.
Young Teague
I know what was going on.
Bishop B
No, Madden, we used to have them going on Marina.
DJ Wells
Shout out to my dog. Jukester.
Young Teague
Jukester.
Bishop B
Man, before we talk about the college days, man, we gotta talk about high school. You know what I'm saying? You from Lexington, went crazy in high school all the time. We scored your high school. He the high school coach. How would you feel having to play on your team that scored the most buckets in program history?
Young Teague
He a gun. I play with shit. I know he a gun.
Justin Jefferson
Hey, nah, man. I'm playing with you. You know, I only had eight minutes to get accurate. See Jeff walking down the sideline. Gotta put this thing up. I'm covering out the game, but no, just being very aggressive. Just going out there trying to score. I know. Something I just had to do to get to the next level. But then playing in the NBA, like with Jeff, other good point guards, being a backup for the majority of the time, you gotta. You gotta get it in where you can. And you know, I love Jeff, you know, being the starting point guard, One of my good friends, he tell me every time, shoot that thing.
Young Teague
Facts.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, so facts.
Bishop B
But we gotta talk about that. We gonna go back to the college days, of course. Cause you one of the coldest college players of all time. But how did y'all meet Me and.
Young Teague
Shel yeah, it's cause of Behan. So Behan used to come to Atlanta when I played for the Hawks. Shell was still in college. And Behead coming like, my n shell will kill you.
DJ Wells
Oh, God.
Young Teague
Like, who is Shel? He like Sheva Mack played for Butler.
DJ Wells
He was acting like that Coach.
Young Teague
He was like, no, he been college.
Justin Jefferson
I was like, talking about Coach Graves.
DJ Wells
You saw that, too.
Justin Jefferson
I've been going viral the past few weeks.
DJ Wells
It was like, that's what he had bust your ass.
Young Teague
Yeah, but you was trying to tell me that, like, Butler was good and all this shit. And I'm like, quarterback champion.
Justin Jefferson
It's better than Wake Forest by a long shot.
Young Teague
I just had played in the Horizon.
DJ Wells
They lost to Cleveland. Y'all lost to a Horizon League team. Cleveland.
Bishop B
Stay serious.
Young Teague
That was our problem.
DJ Wells
Finish your.
Justin Jefferson
Win.
Young Teague
Take him serious.
DJ Wells
Finish your story.
Young Teague
We was like, shout out to Norris. I with him, but so he talking crazy. We about to. Shell's getting drafted. We having a pickup game. It was a lockout year.
Bishop B
Pro Am, baby.
Young Teague
So I see Shelby Mac name on the list of opposite team about to play. I marked that. Yeah, he's getting killed today. We in Indianapolis. He don't even know.
DJ Wells
Yeah, he don't.
Young Teague
He don't know nothing. But he's marked. As soon as he get on the court, I go at him full speed, dunking.
Justin Jefferson
I'm dunking crazy dead.
Young Teague
And I'm pointing at behalf, like, every time like this.
Justin Jefferson
Shel don't know what he told.
Young Teague
What's going on. I'm not talking to him. I'm not trying to be his friend.
DJ Wells
Shel think he in the charity game.
Justin Jefferson
I'm not. Yeah. I'm not a Pro Am player. That's you all day right there. But some context for this story.
Bishop B
This Pro Am was like one of the bigger matchups. Indianapolis was What? Goodman, the D.C. pro Am. So you had John Wall, DeMarcus cousins. They all came to town. It was an all Indiana team put together. So it was a really big deal. If you ever see the highlights, it's crazy as fuck. I'm sure they clip it up. But for being here to line you up like that and that serious of a game is crazy.
Justin Jefferson
It's very. It was a lockout. I ain't never played in the NBA. I don't know what's going on. I hop on the court, I shoot my ticket shot like, boo.
Young Teague
No.
Justin Jefferson
Everybody was hating on Butler at that time. But you cooked me that time.
Young Teague
I was just. It wasn't even you, bro. I Was playing B him, bro.
Justin Jefferson
I got you back, though. Before.
Young Teague
When? Cause when you got in the league.
DJ Wells
I chased you down.
Justin Jefferson
You got that block. You got that I look like Brian. It led on to the team.
Young Teague
He never stopped until he got on the team.
Justin Jefferson
When I got traded to Utah, I gave y'all that work.
Bishop B
Ooh, ooh.
Justin Jefferson
In Utah. Okay.
Young Teague
Are you sure? We talking about where you stumbled?
DJ Wells
We can pull up that.
Justin Jefferson
We can pull up the clips.
Young Teague
He talking about you stumbling, Luis. 3.
Justin Jefferson
I don't remember that. We gotta pull that out.
Young Teague
I don't remember that.
DJ Wells
No. We got somebody that can pull that out.
Justin Jefferson
Y'all gonna pull.
Young Teague
Hit the three in the corner. It's crazy.
Justin Jefferson
I don't remember that.
Young Teague
Okay.
Justin Jefferson
What?
DJ Wells
You had that game shield.
Justin Jefferson
I know. I guess when I first got traded from Atlanta, I was just going hard. Same thing. I'm not sure what I had, but I know I played well when I was playing against my former team.
Young Teague
I just remember when you was starting.
Justin Jefferson
I knew they was going to be.
Young Teague
In drop when you were starting. And I came back, maybe be the next year. Cause after I killed you, I went to your house and beat you in mad.
Justin Jefferson
Damn.
Bishop B
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
This boy telling all kinds of stuff. He get on the mic and start talking crazy.
Young Teague
That is crazy.
Bishop B
You gotta watch behavior.
Young Teague
You gotta watch behavior. Nah, my dog. The first time we played y'all, you did hoop, though. I remember I was hyped. I was like, damn, shell hooping.
Bishop B
Yeah, that's crazy.
Young Teague
The second time we played you in Utah, because Bud was mad. He was like, you're gonna go home. You know how he is.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Young Teague
Are you gonna play for real tonight? Because your friends on the team. Oh, here we go.
Bishop B
Bud.
Young Teague
He did that to my little brother, too.
DJ Wells
All that to say I'm the reason why they friends today.
Young Teague
He the reason me and Cheryl started.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Young Teague
Hanging out.
Justin Jefferson
I brought him.
DJ Wells
Man.
Justin Jefferson
Had a lot of great time.
Young Teague
A lot of Sprites. Dirty, dirty. Sprite. Not. No, not. No. It was just Tequila and Sprite. We used to talk over the game and stuff.
Bishop B
For sure, man. Boo.
Justin Jefferson
Team Dennis was lit.
Young Teague
Lit. Team Dennis was lit for sure.
Bishop B
Yeah. The hell of a team. But before we get to the NBA draft process, we got to talk about what you did in college, bro. Like I said, one of the most underrated college players of all time. I was on campus when y'all went to two back to back national championship games. And you was a very big part of that, bro. That's one of the best runs in college basketball history, for sure. Which run? Was crazier. The first one or the second one?
Justin Jefferson
To me, I would say the second one. No, the first one. We was actually like really, really good with Gordon on the team. I think we won like 20 games in a row. The second one snuck in, like AC Just thugged it out. Know how to win close to Matt Howard. And we won every game. The second one by like last second play. Remember the foul I had against Pittsburgh at half court? It was like one of the worst fouls in NCAA history.
Young Teague
Facts, facts, facts.
Justin Jefferson
I tell you, that bull boy, if.
Bishop B
It was DraftKings back then, boy, you.
DJ Wells
Was selling, he was cut off after that one.
Justin Jefferson
That was rough, fouling him. So we won that game. Cause Matt Howard got fouled then. Also bcu, not vc O. The million played against Baze. We beat them on the last second shot.
Bishop B
Shout out to Kent.
Justin Jefferson
Yup. We just kept winning at the end. Just squeaking by. And then we got to the championship. It was kind of. Kind of ugly, as you know.
DJ Wells
Y'all was tired, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, yeah.
Young Teague
I mean, y'all went up against a really good team, though. It was a bad game, though. I went to that game.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, it was horrible.
Young Teague
It was a long, ugly game. But.
Bishop B
And to be fair, like, y'all ran into one of the best runs in basketball history. Kimber Walker's run through the Big east to the National. That was one of the best runs you will ever see in basketball.
Justin Jefferson
Six games in six days in the Big East. And then this willingness team in a tournament. It was special.
Young Teague
Nah, it was definitely special.
DJ Wells
What was Old boy named White Skin. No, no, no. The other one.
Justin Jefferson
Jeremy Lamb.
DJ Wells
Jeremy Lamb.
Bishop B
Jeremy Lamb.
Justin Jefferson
Raw. Yeah.
DJ Wells
He was special for sure. That's the reason why y'all lost. He was cold.
Young Teague
Sheryl run. That Butler, though, was really unbelievable, though. Craig, bring that little school from Indianapolis to Adam Nation. Wow.
Justin Jefferson
But the most fun was like playing her at Lucas Oil for the championship. Now that was crazy.
Bishop B
I was there. That Duke game was one of the craziest games ever. I sat next to all Duke fans and they didn't say a fucking word until that shot missed. Off the bank. Off the rim, bro. That was a really good game. And I still hate Kyle Singler to this day because of that game. Kyle Singer has never played. I mean, Kyle Singer was cold. Don't get it fucked up. Obviously made it to the league, but that was the best game I ever seen him play in his life. He hit every elbow jump shot that game, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, they had a great game plan. I don't Know if you like, you ain't game planning like that. But they the only team that forced Gordon to go right. And he took that. He had to go right for that last shot and missed it. No, they just did a good job. But it was a hell of a run. Hell of a game. One thing I do remember, Coach Stevens had us going to class on championship Monday at 10am wow.
Young Teague
He out of pocket.
Bishop B
Out of pocket, Coach.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, talk to him, man.
Bishop B
Out of pocket.
Young Teague
That's why y'all lost. You might go to class. Wake Forest would never.
Bishop B
We didn't go to class on Monday anyway.
Young Teague
We just had Mondays.
Justin Jefferson
Chef said, Monday, you ain't going for the show. Huh?
Young Teague
What?
Bishop B
That went to class. That. That's crazy.
Justin Jefferson
He went to class. Everyone did. We had a shuttle going back and.
Bishop B
Forth, and y'all was downtown at a hotel. Y'all wasn't even on campus. I remember that.
Young Teague
That's crazy. I would definitely not want to class. What?
DJ Wells
I'm sure Brad learned from that.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah.
DJ Wells
Learned from that.
Young Teague
Did y'all do anything the next year?
Justin Jefferson
We was in what's name? We was in Houston.
Young Teague
I mean, did y'all have, like, study hall and stuff?
Justin Jefferson
Nah. At Butler, I was hoping.
Young Teague
I ain't taking.
Justin Jefferson
I never had study hall. No, we recruited the right people. You don't have to do all that stuff. Take care of your business, bro.
Young Teague
Y'all didn't have study hard.
Justin Jefferson
Butler, Nah.
Young Teague
Oh, yeah. You didn't go to school for real?
Justin Jefferson
N. We did our work, man.
DJ Wells
No, he saying they didn't have to have study hall. Why you gotta study hall?
Young Teague
Because I had 3.2 in college. I still have study hall. You had to get enough hours.
Bishop B
That's crazy.
Young Teague
To have, like, eight hours a week, like, mandatory. You don't care if you have straight days or not.
Justin Jefferson
I ain't know that. You finish your degree, boy.
Young Teague
Now. I went to the NBA.
DJ Wells
Now you in my business.
Justin Jefferson
I just finished mine up. That's why I was asking. It took me 10 years to do it, but I got it done.
Young Teague
See, brother let y'all go back for free.
Justin Jefferson
Mvpa.
Young Teague
Oh, yeah. I should have did that route, too. Cause Butler charged y'all, huh?
Justin Jefferson
Yeah.
Young Teague
That's who I.
Justin Jefferson
Crazy, right?
Young Teague
What? That's what Wake Forest.
Bishop B
Do Butler owe you reparations, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Hey, I mean, wait.
DJ Wells
Don't owe him nothing but a lot of chicken.
Bishop B
They owe you reparations? Cause I was for real. I was a student there. And I remember tuition going up ten grand each year that we went to a national championship yeah, that's about right.
Young Teague
I should have did the NBA. I can still do that route, but the way this podcast set up in school, I don't really know, man. It add up. Really. I don't know.
DJ Wells
Hey brother, out of pocket, bro. Y'all brought a lot to that program, bro. All of y'all.
Young Teague
Nah, for real though.
Bishop B
That's what I mean.
Young Teague
Going that honorary degrees but Grant the.
Justin Jefferson
New AD Grant line Decker came in, helped me out.
Young Teague
Okay, that's my dog.
Bishop B

John Mittelkoff
This is John Mittelkoff from three and out with John Mittelkoff. Picture this. You're in the garage, your favorite room in the house, and you're tuning up your engine with parts you found on ebay. Every piece is just locking perfectly into place. You step back to admire your work, hands covered in grease and because you're committed to driving that thing further than the odometer can even handle. You start thinking to yourself, you know what? I could probably use some new brakes, some shocks and struts. This baby deserves a new air filter. So you head right back to ebay. You can find any part you need. It's unreal. From wipers and headlights to cold air intakes, exhaust systems, and even that turbo you've had on your mind. Ebay is that stock garage of your dreams. And you've got ebay guaranteed fit. Because eBay knows DIY fixes can be major and mods are also intense. So you need to know those parts are guaranteed to fit every time before you dive in. Wrench first, and in the off chance you order a part and it doesn't fit, send it back. Simple as that. You know what you love more than the car itself is driving it. You're serious when it comes to engine maintenance and locked in when you're headed into a build. And that's exactly why you start with ebay. Minor fix or complete overhaul. You want to get your ride back on the road, and you've got ebay guaranteed fit. So ebay created my garage, where all you had to do is add your ride's info to get exact parts that fit. When you see that green check, you're a click away from that part, clicking perfectly into place. So now that you know all that, imagine standing at that open garage door looking at the car you love more than anything, knowing that anything is possible, whether it's keeping it on the road forever or turning it into something that's never been on the road before. Because with ebay, your garage just got a whole lot bigger. Get all the parts you need at prices you'll love. Guaranteed to fit every time. Ebay things people love.

Bishop B
Tap in the right way.
Young Teague
That is crazy, though. They make you go pay to go back to school. Not first summer. They told me to pay away. For us, it was 17,000. I said, yeah, I was just not going back to school. I tried to transfer to iupui.
Justin Jefferson
Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Young Teague
I swear to God. I tried to transfer to ipu.
Bishop B
They probably treated him like Everest College, bro.
Young Teague
That was like, some of my credits wouldn't transfer there. They was like, you gonna be a freshman? I'm like, damn, what classes was I taking? What classes was I taking?
Bishop B
That's crazy. But obviously, man, your college career was insane.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Bishop B
Declared for the draft. How was that process? I know you probably had to do a lot of workouts. How was that?
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, mine was completely different than Jeff. Jeff going lottery.
Young Teague
I didn't go lottery.
Justin Jefferson
I had to work out damn near. It was better than me. I had to work out for like 20 teams and my class was like, loaded. I would say hella dragon.
Young Teague
Who was your class?
Justin Jefferson
Kyrie, Clay, Kawhi, Jimmy Butler, Norris.
Young Teague
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Kimba Kimber, Cardiac. Yeah. It was the Morris twins. It was. It was. It was stacked.
Bishop B
That was legit draft.
Justin Jefferson
Isaiah Thomas, he was the last. So, like, we all just had to Bella out throughout the no. On the combine. Especially coming from Butler. No, we went to national championship, but we didn't play a lot of possessions. We played a certain style so people couldn't really see how it was. And no, everybody was. Thought it was fat, too. Had to go in and show my body, y'all.
Bishop B
Oh, that's crazy.
Justin Jefferson
Pause that.
Young Teague
Sound like a slave.
Bishop B
That's a Diddy workout.
Justin Jefferson
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Young Teague
It sounds like a slave trade, bro.
DJ Wells
Come on, bro.
Justin Jefferson
You know, we had the baggy clothes and all that.
Young Teague
For sure, for sure, for sure.
Justin Jefferson
I mean, we wasn't Nike Elite. How Wake Forest was. That stuff was a little baggy.
Young Teague
So, yeah, I was better Nike school than us. Sure. I mean, we was a test Nike school. So I apologize.
Justin Jefferson
Y'all remember I got the umbrella jerseys, the ring. My neck beat down here like this. Yeah, it was nasty.
Bishop B
That's crazy.
Young Teague
Y'all didn't Mike Greenwood them jersey. That's his name, right?
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, yeah.
Young Teague
Y'all had the same jersey. I remember. Yeah, I remember. Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
So.
Bishop B
But you get drafted by D.C. and you was at D.C. at a really good time. I mean, I'm saying you had that on time out.
Justin Jefferson
Time out.
Bishop B
What good time for D.C. it may not be the best. It was a good time for D.C. to have the rebuild mode getting to it.
Justin Jefferson
It was more than a rebuild mode. My first year of lockout. Year started off 0. 18.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Rough. So I don't know what to say. That wasn't a good time.
Young Teague
You should tell people how the lockout worked, though. Like, as a young guy that was getting. Getting drafted. You got no money and you get drafted to the NBA. And now you gotta figure it out for what, three, four months?
Justin Jefferson
Like four or five months. I was still here in Indy, working out, trying to get my degree. Then got throwing at Hibachi with him in the Pro Am in the league. But it's real tough. You gotta stay ready. You never know what's gonna happen. And you know he's gotta be up and ready to move in a second. But when I got there, team was kind of wasn't the best team ever put together. I could say that for sure. And I just kind of had to figure out on fly. I had some great vets to kept me together. Cause the team, I'm telling the team was like, wow. Started off 0 and 18. And then we was playing Philly. Cause his lockout was very close. We was playing Philly like every other week. Three times when they had Lou Elton, Drew Dre. It was just. Wasn't a good matchup for us.
Young Teague
Yeah, Damn.
DJ Wells
You had some good nights in D.C. though.
Justin Jefferson
Definitely had some good nights, you know, as a rookie going in, I'm pretty sure y'all done heard some stories, especially about that team.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
I'll leave it at that.
Young Teague
Who was y'all bets on that team?
Justin Jefferson
On that team. So I had Roger Mason and also Rashard Lewis. Okay, shout out to coach Lou and Mo Evans.
Young Teague
You played with Mo? I played with Mo Evans, yeah. Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
So they took me underneath their wing. And let me understand, this ain't how the NBA works. Like continue to work, be a good pro. Crazy thing. All of them second round picks too. Like Rashad, I'm gonna say Mace was and just grinded. So it was there to help me out a lot for sure.
Bishop B
Now obviously, did you like that team? What? That Washington team?
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, it was put together.
Bishop B
Nah, y'all definitely needed a lot of work, you know what I'm saying? But it was just a crazy ass team. I just wanted you to bring it up. Cause I remember y'all had a crazy streak, man. That's a crazy way to get into the NBA.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, I went 18 flip. Sans was a coach, he got fired. He tell a lot of young guys trying to figure it out.
Bishop B
Now you go from the first venture to Washington, what's the next team you went to?
Justin Jefferson
Right after that I went to the main red clause. Had to go back to the G League drawing board.
DJ Wells
Work it out. Kill there though.
Bishop B
Yeah, crazy.
Justin Jefferson
I was putting up, putting up some good numbers, playing on Doc river system. That's when he was in Boston. So I was basically putting up the same numbers. Like Rondo, Remember Rondo was like 20, 15 and 18. Yeah, I was more of a score. So I was getting like 30, 10 and 12. Help me out a lot. I actually did two 10 days with Philly and then I ended up going to Atlanta. Nicking up with this guy? Yes, sir. With him for the next three, four years.
Young Teague
I would say. Yeah. I remember the first day you came, I was like, okay. Like I don't fuck with him. Like you know me in my head, like, oh, he coming to the city, he about to play. He ain't about to play. Like that's what my mindset was. Then when I got to know him, it was like, I mean, he cool as hell and I wanted to do everything I could to like help him. Like I wanted to see him kill. And we had like a group hate.
Justin Jefferson
You gonna throw me in there?
Young Teague
Like we just, we just bonded over some things. So it was like cool.
Justin Jefferson
It was me, you and a lot of other people. It felt the Same way.
Young Teague
We just bonded. He said, yeah, we had a group hate.
DJ Wells
So I was like, all right, hold on. Was Shell on the little Giants run?
Young Teague
Yeah.
DJ Wells
Oh, okay. Shell was the.
Justin Jefferson
What'd you call it?
DJ Wells
The little Giants run that. Y'all had that Tim Tebow run in the league.
Justin Jefferson
Is that what you got? We won 20 games in a row.
Young Teague
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Four All Stars. Yeah, I was on that team.
DJ Wells
Yeah, okay.
Young Teague
That was fun.
Justin Jefferson
We had a lot of fun.
Young Teague
Too much fun. I remember when Shell. I was like, shel, about to get paid. We played in the playoffs against the Pacers. And I ain't get the sub back in the game. Cause Shel and Mike was hooping. I was like, damn, they killing. We went back home for game six, and I smoked it. My bad, bro. I let you down, bro. Y'all won game five for us. Go home and smoke. That was the 8.
Justin Jefferson
1 matchup. We supposed to win that.
Young Teague
Yeah, we supposed to win that. I smoked that one. I did a job, bro. You and Mike was clowning that game.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, but that team was so special just. Cause everyone, like, got along off the court.
DJ Wells
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Justin Jefferson
You know, we had the real ones in the front playing Bou Ray. We had the other ones in the back playing uno, for sure. Where was you at, Jeff?
Young Teague
I was playing uno. I brought the UNO cards.
Justin Jefferson
Rob, the UNO card right now. It was a great team, just hanging out with everybody.
DJ Wells
You went to the Atlanta guy. I mean, you went to Atlanta, got settled for real. Got your crib and everything. I knew you was. Once you bought that crib. I'm like, yeah, he like. He love Atlanta. He ain't going nowhere.
Justin Jefferson
He locked in. I'm still there to this day. Tapped in with the city. Now I get a lot of love there. Like this special place in my heart.
DJ Wells
No show.
Young Teague
Mine's too.
DJ Wells
For different reasons, but.
Young Teague
Nah. I mean, I grew up there. I went from a little kid to a man in Atlanta. So that's all it got. A special place for me. I met some of my long, lasting friendships there.
DJ Wells
Shell, do you think that team could have won the championship if LeBron wasn't in the East?
Young Teague
Hell, yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah. If LeBron wasn't playing. Yeah.
Young Teague
Yeah.
DJ Wells
Y'all could have won the shit.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, we beat everybody else.
Bishop B
Who would y'all face in the finals?
Young Teague
Golden State? Nah, they wasn't like that yet. They weren't like that.
Justin Jefferson
They weren't like that. 42 dub whistles.
Young Teague
They weren't like that yet.
Justin Jefferson
Was it gonna stay?
Young Teague
Yeah, they wasn't them yet.
DJ Wells
That's the first year they wanted y'all beating that team.
Young Teague
Fuck no. They wasn't them yet. They was still, like, LeBron didn't want.
Justin Jefferson
It the year they beat us, though, didn't they?
Young Teague
Nah, they lost to Golden State, remember? Everybody was hurt. Bron Kyrie hurt his knee.
Bishop B
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
All right.
DJ Wells
Yeah. So what make you think y'all was gonna win?
Justin Jefferson
What? He just said. Everybody was hurt. When they full team, they full roster.
DJ Wells
I know, but that's LeBron and them, not y'all like, whoa, what?
Justin Jefferson
You ain't like our four All Stars?
Bishop B
Hey, let's match it up. Let's have fun.
Justin Jefferson
You ain't like our four All Stars.
DJ Wells
Let's have fun. That's what we're here for.
Young Teague
They just wasn't them. They wasn't. They wasn't them yet.
DJ Wells
Like Jeff. Definitely supposed to be an All Star, Al for sure. Supposed to be an All Star. PM for sure.
Bishop B
Now, who else?
Justin Jefferson
Who you slighting now, Freaky Cal?
DJ Wells
I ain't mad at it. You went on a run. You helped him. Jeff say you the real MVP of the team. I didn't play in the NBA. Take your 26 all star jersey run with it, bro. I get it. But when we get to the finals. Four one, bro.
Young Teague
Nah. Hell no.
Justin Jefferson
That's nasty work right there.
DJ Wells
Four one, bro.
Young Teague
Nah, bro.
DJ Wells
Sean Livingston, Harrison Barnes, Andre Iguodala.
Justin Jefferson
Was he. Yeah, he was on.
DJ Wells
Yeah. Draymond Green. It's Christmas.
Young Teague
Yeah, but we played them. We went one. We was even. We beat them in Atlanta. They beat us in Gold State.
DJ Wells
Fair enough, bro. Y'all beat a lot of teams.
Justin Jefferson
You got a great memory, man.
DJ Wells
Y'all won 61 games.
Young Teague
I remember my good games. Motherfuckers start getting the report. He definitely had, like, 35, but we beat him.
DJ Wells
Y'all had a good team, bro. Y'all really did, bro. I just loved.
Bishop B
We just matched up.
Young Teague
Cause we switched one through five.
Justin Jefferson
Do you think we'll get to the finals if LeBron wasn't playing?
DJ Wells
Oh, I mean, look, that run was magical, bro. That Jeremy Lynn run is magical. It's getting there, for sure.
Young Teague
The thing about LeBron, we just didn't have nobody to match up with. LeBron.
DJ Wells
No facts.
Young Teague
So Golden State, this was before they found all their superpowers. Like, only they got there.
Justin Jefferson
They did it as an aw.
Young Teague
Yeah. Only step to a whole nother level. Yeah. Steph had his superpowers. Clay was coming into his. Everybody else was still. They wasn't all the way there yet. We ain't we matched up cool with them. Cause we could switch one through five with them. We couldn't switch with Brian. Like, I can't switch on Brian, man. It's fucking Christmas.
DJ Wells
Yeah, I just think, Sean Livestock would have been an X factor, bro.
Young Teague
We smooth. We had shit. We straight. You couldn't post that big chunky.
DJ Wells
I love Shield. But Sean Richard, 6, 7. We shooting right over.
Justin Jefferson
We living with the mid range. He gonna knock them in, too.
Young Teague
Yeah, we shooting threes, man. We started that three point.
DJ Wells
Oh, man.
Young Teague
Oh, the five, man shooting threes.
Bishop B
That was us.
Justin Jefferson
That was Al on a pocket pillow.
Young Teague
Him and Pero started that three point shooting green, bro.
DJ Wells
Shout out to the Ellen Hawks, bro. Is that 14? Shout out to my guys, man.
Justin Jefferson
All right, man. Give us some love. That was actually a really fun time. Cause also, music was just popping crazy at that time.
Bishop B
That's what I wanted to ask y'all. I mean, that run was crazy. But at the same time, when y'all was in Atlanta, like, the new wave of Atlanta artists is going crazy. You got Future reaching his pinnacle. You got Migos coming out like, y'all got to see them early on. How was that? Cause I imagine, shit, we already know how Atlanta was off the court was probably way better than off the court at that time period. Cause they had bankroll fresh. Everybody was getting their run at that time.
Young Teague
Shell wasn't really outside. I was outside. Damn, Shell, you.
Bishop B
What were you doing?
Justin Jefferson
I wasn't. I'm on 10 days and not guaranteed.
Young Teague
It wasn't outside. I was outside.
Justin Jefferson
Crazy thing is, I'm real good friends with 2 Chainz, with Ky. My dude does his job.
Bishop B
Ky.
Justin Jefferson
So the first day Bud got the job, me and changes in the private ceiling in the back working out. Bud come in. He don't know anything about, like, the hip hop scene music or Chain sitting down. It's like, I'm still on my 10 day, not guaranteed time. He's like, hey, man, you gotta do this cut all these people.
DJ Wells
Da, da, da.
Justin Jefferson
And like, it's like my home. He think it's like my homeboy telling this. It's like, who the hell is this? Y'all like, you about to be out of here.
DJ Wells
Who's this telling me all of this?
Justin Jefferson
So I had a good chance. Hey, bro, you got chill. He don't know who you are. Hey, don't mess my stuff up. I know you own the college Park Sky House. It right now, man.
Young Teague
Ch almost up the flag.
Justin Jefferson
True.
Bishop B
And I'm just. It's funny because I can Imagine Bud's face like not giving the entire.
Young Teague
He probably has a marker right here.
Justin Jefferson
He over there telling them cut people on rookies on rookie deal.
DJ Wells
I want to 10.
Justin Jefferson
I wish I could see his face, though. Imagine coming in like you don't know who his dude is. No, we just walk in, we just hanging out like, is Sheldon's homeboy? Serious.
Young Teague
But funny as hell. So he probably. Like, he probably had that.
DJ Wells
What the fuck? He definitely had that.
Young Teague
Yeah. Like, what the fuck? Who the fuck Shelby think he is? Get this guy the fuck out of here.
DJ Wells
But Shell had. Shell was that birthday bash and shit. He wasn't all the way inside.
Young Teague
When I say inside, I mean like Shell. When he. When he got established in Atlanta, you know, he had a family.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah.
Young Teague
So he wouldn't go out. I be like, sure you coming out. He be like, nah, player.
Justin Jefferson
Nah, I'll be. I be. Be going back to the arena.
Young Teague
Yeah, he was putting time.
Justin Jefferson
Every time I go back to the arena, we kind of live in the same spot, same area. We driving.
Bishop B
Where you see ch.
Justin Jefferson
Where you see. I look, I see where Camaro, Atlanta.
Young Teague
I was at doa. I had my jersey.
Justin Jefferson
Every time the K.
DJ Wells
That's a wild boy. That's a crazy after party. I used to chicken, bro.
Young Teague
I used to eat chicken wings, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah. You know, after, like, sometimes you don't play a lot like in the league, you go upstairs and work out after the game. So I go up there, get my workout in. He done played 30 minutes, he out, he gone. I'm driving home at the light.
Young Teague
Can smell the chicken wings from the street, bro. Oh, y'all crazy.
Bishop B
That's funny as hell, man.
Young Teague
That was my spot, though, obviously, you.
Bishop B
Know what I'm saying? Atlanta was very well for you. Establish yourself as a player in this league, then you get a chance to go to, you know what I'm saying, A different situation to get some more minutes. How was that going to Utah for you, career wise?
Justin Jefferson
It was great, obviously, just having a relationship with Quinn. He was part of the staff in Atlanta, so he kind of knew my skill sets and know what I was capable of doing. And then there's also just having opportunities going and just like play right away and start. There's been a great team in Atlanta. You always have a lot of good players. Know Jeff was a good player. Then we also had Dennis Schroeder at the time. So it's kind of tough to get minutes consistently. There's gotta be a pro be ready. But I also want to appreciate online and Bud for allowing me to go. Could be selfish. No. Just having me sitting there because you just never know. Somebody can get hurt or any situation. But they allow me to move on and develop my game.
Bishop B
That's fine. And it's not too. You don't see. It's not too common to see organizations do right by people. And when they do, sometimes they may be handpicking with that. But for them to show you love like that, to put your situation, you can actually play as fire. Like you said. Y'all say, I first started going back at each other, you know what I'm saying was he got to Utah that first game.
Young Teague
Hey, I was so happy for him, man. To see him get a chance to be the starter, do his thing. He had a good game against us, but I think we probably won, though. We won.
Justin Jefferson
I can't remember.
Young Teague
It don't matter when you kill. You don't even give a fuck. You want to lose sometimes. I ain't gonna hold you. But in a regular season, he'd be like, shit, I killed y'all though. So he probably had a good game.
Justin Jefferson
I can't remember no. If I get eight, I'm killing.
Young Teague
Oh, yeah, eight.
Justin Jefferson
Oh, shit.
Young Teague
He wasn't killing.
Justin Jefferson
Nah, it's transition. I can't start on the first day of getting there. We played y'all like right away, right?
Young Teague
Yeah, you did. Oh, yeah, you did get traded and played right away. Yeah, you right. You did.
Justin Jefferson
That was the crazy part. I was in practice, I couldn't get no reps the day before. You know, Jeff don't like practice. Jeff, like, come get me. I'm like, bro, they not letting me in.
Young Teague
Listen, kids, I love practice.
Justin Jefferson
But now it's a good way. Jeff let me. Jeff would let me get out there and like play. Yeah, and like work and work on my.
Young Teague
I'm like, go ahead and kill them.
Bishop B
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Come get me. I'm like, bro, they ain't letting me out there.
DJ Wells
Damn.
Young Teague
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
It's Ace. Sit here on the side.
Young Teague
What's your head. He had eight came off the bench. Who was starting that thing?
Justin Jefferson
Hey, man, quit asking all them questions.
DJ Wells
Was it the foreigner? Light skinned buddy Dante.
Young Teague
Oh, Dante asked him.
Justin Jefferson
It might have been Dante.
Young Teague
31 minutes.
DJ Wells
You better play the whole game.
Justin Jefferson
Shit. He let me. I got. What was my shooting percentage?
Young Teague
He had to be 3 for 16.
Bishop B
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
I definitely gave myself a chance.
Young Teague
Get some FGA's up.
DJ Wells
I had to.
Justin Jefferson
I gave myself a chance.
Young Teague
Nah, he had Rudy.
DJ Wells
Damn. When he was weak too.
Young Teague
Yeah, yeah, we knew this.
Justin Jefferson
It Just changed recently.
Bishop B
Hey, what's crazy is, while you was in Utah, you played in one of the most important games in basketball history, man. Kobe's final game. How was that atmosphere building up to that? And how was it to play in that game? Cause everybody in the world wanted y'all to lose that game. And y'all was still, like. I know y'all was right out of playoff implications, but y'all wasn't trying to let Kobe win that game either.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, it was like, we had to wait till, like, halftime to see if we was gonna make the playoffs. We were trying to win. A lot of people get it confused that, like, we was letting Kobe do all that. Like, Kobe also shot 50 times. Not hard to shoot 50 shots in one basketball game.
Young Teague
That's nuts, bro.
Bishop B
Does anybody. I know who would do it?
DJ Wells
Let's see him.
Justin Jefferson
Nah. But it was. The atmosphere was crazy. Like, the president was there. Like, we'd come in, you know. Jeff, you go down the tunnel. Staples center, everybody out there with AKS 47 sign.
Young Teague
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
No Secret Service. It was amazing. Kanye, Jay Z, all these people sitting, like, second row for this. But if you go back and watch the tape, I had zero of that six.
Young Teague
We didn't get scored on it all.
Justin Jefferson
Like, I'll pull it up.
DJ Wells
You live and die by that.
Justin Jefferson
That's his first thing I ain't getting.
DJ Wells
He was a part of that shield.
Justin Jefferson
No, that's one of my favorite players. Kobe's my favorite player.
DJ Wells
Yeah, for sure.
Justin Jefferson
But I didn't get any of that.
Bishop B
You didn't switch on.
Justin Jefferson
But they was, Luis. They gonna pull it up. But the way they was letting Julius Randle set them screens, Outrageous.
Young Teague
They had to get Kobe open, bro.
Justin Jefferson
But Kobe, it was just different. Like, no matter what he did, everybody in the crowd like, oh, ooh, this turn. It's a weird game to kind of play in.
DJ Wells
It was the last two, Rod.
Justin Jefferson
What?
Young Teague
He ended with 62 on 50 shots. That's the way to go out, boy. I swear.
DJ Wells
For sure.
Bishop B
Yeah.
Young Teague
50 shots.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah.
DJ Wells
I don't see nobody else shooting at me.
Young Teague
My last game, I didn't touch the floor.
DJ Wells
Well, it wasn't about you, big fella.
Young Teague
I see the 50 piece, though. You understand 50.
Justin Jefferson
The crazy part, like, pregame, Lou was on the team. Lou was like, he about to shoot 50 times. I'm like, he ain't about to shoot 50 shots. Came out there and did it, like, every time somebody wide open, just swing it at him, let him go. And the crazy part, he started off super, super Slow. And then like started making like eight baskets in a row. And the whole stadium just rooting for him. Like, you foul them, you foul them. Like take the side out of everybody.
DJ Wells
Boom, boom.
Justin Jefferson
So it was a little different.
Young Teague
It had to be an amazing atmosphere though. Yeah.
Bishop B
I was gonna say I couldn't imagine playing in the game like that.
Young Teague
I would have loved to have been in that game.
DJ Wells
What was you doing?
Young Teague
I would have been trying to go at him. Yeah. I would have been trying to guard him. I would have been extra as hell.
DJ Wells
Woulda bit your name off there too.
Bishop B
Not for real.
Young Teague
I would have been talking shit.
Justin Jefferson
That wouldn't have worked, man.
Young Teague
That was going to work. But he was going to get them points, whatever.
Justin Jefferson
But it was special.
Young Teague
I would have been Dylan Brooks, especially.
Justin Jefferson
Like I said, my favorite player of all time.
Young Teague
I would have been Dylan Brooks. I've been like, kobe's not that good. He shot 50 songs.
DJ Wells
He said he wanted people to do that, though. He didn't want people to, you know. Yeah, let him do nothing. Go crazy like it's a regular.
Justin Jefferson
He worked for it. That wasn't nothing easy.
DJ Wells
I said like, talk, talk like, Jeff would have been like, you got the.
Justin Jefferson
Kobe's from that day?
Young Teague
Hell yeah. I got mama days.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, the mama days. I actually got him. He was able to sign them for me.
Young Teague
Oh, he signed him. Damn. Shit on that spot.
DJ Wells
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, I should have played. I should have played in him, but I didn't.
Young Teague
Nah, I got him. Only thing I got signed from Kobe was he signed a card. Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
So I always did it. I wear Kobe's all the time. Whatever. We play them. I wouldn't wear a shoe, but I can't be on the court looking like that.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
What about you?
Young Teague
I ain't hooping. Kobe's to the end.
Justin Jefferson
I know. You was Adidas all the time.
Young Teague
Yeah, I was Adidas. So I ain't hooping. Kobe's to the end. Really? I was hooping in Jordan tens. I was trying to get signed by team Jordan. It ain't work.
Bishop B
Damn.
Justin Jefferson
Joe didn't put in the car for.
Young Teague
You joint with me like that. He only with me at the club.
Justin Jefferson
Off the court.
Young Teague
Off the court. T, you got them hoes. I go.
Bishop B
Play roll. That's crazy because you was almost Team LeBron too.
Young Teague
I used to wear LeBron's too. He wasn't with me either. You gonna sign with Rich? I was like, damn, I can't do it. Squat. All right.
Justin Jefferson
Damn.
Young Teague
I should have. Hey, fuck that up.
Bishop B
Shout out to Junior.
Young Teague
Shout out to the guy.

John Mittelkoff
This is John Mittelkoff from three and out with John Mittelkoff. Picture this. You're in the garage, your favorite room in the house, and you're tuning up your engine with parts you found on ebay. Every piece is just locking perfectly into place. You step back to admire your work, hands covered in grease. And because you're committed to driving that thing further than the odometer can even handle, you start thinking to yourself, you know what? I could probably use some new brakes, some shocks and struts. This baby deserves a new air filter. So you head right back to ebay. You can find any part you need. It's unreal. Autozone restrictions apply so obviously man, you know what I'm saying? Had your time in the league, transition to different things. What you got going on right now, man?
Justin Jefferson
Right now do college basketball. CBS sports analyst.
Bishop B
Yes sir.
Justin Jefferson
So working in the front office with an NBA team, doing some pro scout and trying to find some talent, hanging out with the family and kids. So got a good life, Blessed life. The crazy part is playing multiple teams, meet a lot of people, have A lot of connections. And it's no pen off for me now as I make this transition. No being a retired player.
Bishop B
I was gonna ask about that. Even with Jeff. Like you guys always have good rapport with different people. And people don't understand the NBA fraternity is different. Once you in, you can really be there for life. If you got good rapport. And it's dope to see the network and the stuff of how it works. But now it's interesting because like we said Butler definitely all you reparations. But the nil shit going on back to back championships, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, I had dinner with Brad last night. I told him same time would not been in Butler the following year.
Young Teague
Yeah, out transfer portal for sure. Easy on them for sure.
DJ Wells
That bag would have been recharged.
Young Teague
I got a meal, something.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, by 1.5 is definitely different around here.
Bishop B
How was. How was that taken in, I wonder? Like as you're scouting, you know what I'm saying? You look at the different kids and stuff going on that could potentially be pros. Does that play a factor in it? Like how they handle the nil at all? I mean, I don't know if that's not being pocket watching, but just like the mannerisms. Because that does need a different aspect of recruiting with people.
Justin Jefferson
For me not really know at this side, you're not really dealing with that. It's more like the agent of somebody else.
Bishop B
I got you.
Justin Jefferson
But you know, it's a lot of people who's very good playing basketball. So a lot of stuff like off the court that stops them from getting to the next level. Like intel. They might be hanging out with a behead all the time.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Being the wrong spot, wrong time.
Bishop B
Red flag, red flag.
Justin Jefferson
Red flag. Right there, right there. Nah, that's my guy. But look, look for stuff like that because you know, once you able to get somebody a lot of money, a lot of access, you just don't know how they're gonna act. No basketball. Basketball is like a small piece. There's no more about your character. And no men had to be a great teammate. That's the hardest thing. No NBA, everyone averaged 20 points at some point in time. Don't go there. And you might have to be a cheerleader for a few, for a few games and just see how you respond. Are you gonna be mad at the coach or the assistant coach or the ball boy who has nothing to do with this? Are you gonna take it out on now? No. It's not the kind of people that you wanna work with on A day to day basis.
DJ Wells
How you like commentating though. You see yourself doing that for a long time.
Justin Jefferson
I enjoy doing it. Get to watch a lot of basketball, stay around the game. Yeah, it's a little different doing college instead of pros because you not trying to talk bad about anyone's sign. No, everyone's trying to work and continue to get better. We love to call some games. See how I sound at the arena. But it good. Just keep me all around and stay in touch with everybody.
DJ Wells
Cool.
Bishop B
So man, March Madness is still one of the craziest fucking basketball situations of all time. Obviously what you haven't experienced in that. Do you think it's different now with the game as far as like March man, like. Cause we don't even have too many college players that we get excited about anymore. It's like we skip every so often. But back in Yalls days it was every year, every team. Like not every team but you had marquee teams and matchups every single year. Yeah, it's like totally different now. How do you stay intact with that? Like do you even get excited for that type of stuff? I know obviously with you working you locked in with it. But is it even the same atmosphere like being removed from it when you're.
Justin Jefferson
Able to go to the game, you still able to fulfill it? Cause it's like say here in Indiana, like iu, Purdue, no matter who's playing, you can just go to game and kind of feel the energy.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
It's hard to keep up with it though with the transfer portal. People just being able to just go.
Bishop B
That makes sense.
Justin Jefferson
School for school. So sometimes I get lost on it with the players transferring. Then also the sixth year kind of.
Young Teague
Threw everything off that Covid year.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
So once all of that stuff settle in, people can start tapping back in with their favorite players and hopefully we get some loyalty coming in soon with all this. But I don't see how long, how much longer this nil stuff can work.
DJ Wells
How you feel about Butler moving to the Big East?
Justin Jefferson
I think it's a great move. He had some good years when coach Laval was coaching. Top 10 in the country. All that right now, some downtime, but can't really say his downtime when they got the two national champs over the past few years back to back. Knowing the conference, this is a tough conference. I think it's one of the best conference. Better than the acc. You ask me.
Young Teague
Cap. Woo. Cap.
Justin Jefferson
I don't know Big east, acc.
Bishop B
I don't know Big Dog. That's tough.
Justin Jefferson
Top heavy who you like? Who you liking? The ACC.
Bishop B
I'm biased. I'm gonna go ACC. But if you go in UConn against the board, then you never gotta go UConn.
Justin Jefferson
But, well, like, consistently, like Marquette, Villanova.
Young Teague
They've been good.
Justin Jefferson
Crazy.
Young Teague
They've been good.
Bishop B
I don't know about Crayton.
DJ Wells
Shell talking about, like, 20 win teams.
Bishop B
Oh, no, no. As a total hall, for sure. Yeah.
Young Teague
They got an overall better conference. Joint conference. Yeah, they got a. Right now.
Bishop B
But in the tournament, I fear a couple of them ACC teams a little bit more.
Young Teague
Yeah, like, I like Duke. I like Carolina.
Justin Jefferson
All right.
Young Teague
I like Wake Forest.
Bishop B
You said Wake.
Young Teague
Yeah. I like Florida State. I like Miami a lot.
DJ Wells
Quiet.
Young Teague
Miami good. Miami good.
Bishop B
Shout out to Nigel.
DJ Wells
They okay, but they ain't. They not better than that.
Justin Jefferson
They were good, but, like, Miami was good. Cause, like, you talking about Nigel Pack getting the transfer in.
Bishop B
Yes, sir.
Justin Jefferson
Like, you need that to be, like, at that. At that high level.
Young Teague
Yeah. NC State.
Justin Jefferson
I meant to see how Duke is going to be this year with us having all those freshmen coming in, playing.
Bishop B
Oh, they're going. I think they going smack, smack.
Justin Jefferson
Think so.
Bishop B
Cooper Flag is the one. He's the one. If they let him cook the right. He's the one, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Isaiah Evans is pretty good, too.
Bishop B
Oh, no, they got a whip, too.
Young Teague
They not.
Bishop B
He ain't a one, man, by any means. They got a whip. That's why I didn't understand why he was talking about them transferring. Because everybody who transferred was tampered with. I'm like, that's crazy, bro.
DJ Wells
He the best player in college basketball.
Young Teague
No Cooper.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Nah, I gotta see right now, even.
DJ Wells
Though even those people are aging there right now, he's still better than all of them.
Justin Jefferson
He's the best prospect, but, like, he the best prospect. Playing college basketball is, like, different. Like, we see Oscar, she weigh. Yeah, 20 and 20, and then go to the next step. He play for the Pacers. It's kind of hard for him to get out there and contribute and play at a high level.
DJ Wells
But Cooper. Cooper Flagg's path is different.
Young Teague
Yeah, he gonna be the best prospect.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, it's definitely different. But I'm saying, like, it's different, but also, Xiwe is player of the year. Like, I don't. I don't think Cooper gonna get player of the year.
DJ Wells
Yeah.
Bishop B
Nah, he probably won't get the accolades. He gonna get the number one pick, Coop.
Young Teague
We're gonna average, like, nine.
DJ Wells
Hell, no.
Bishop B
Nine points. He gotta get more than that.
Young Teague
You know how it Goes.
Justin Jefferson
I say between like 9 and 14.
DJ Wells
That's a big gap.
Justin Jefferson
He's not. But it's not gonna be 20.
Bishop B
Nah, it ain't gonna be 20. It'd be 13, 14.
Young Teague
And he going in there with a whole bunch of other freshmen.
Bishop B
He going in with a whip.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, they all trying to get back.
Young Teague
I don't think they about to be the number two pick. Like, are you one? I know I'm about to be two.
DJ Wells
We had this clip. It's okay.
Young Teague
All right.
DJ Wells
Cooper, player of the year. Duke national championship.
Young Teague
Think about how old dude was at Carolina. What's his name? Babcock.
Bishop B
Babcock.
DJ Wells
Babcock, for sure was Andrea.
Young Teague
Three or four other players, though, they not. They not going, bro.
DJ Wells
They 24 and up for sure.
Bishop B
Older him or homeboy from Kansas.
Justin Jefferson
Actually, like Western faze. Is he played a year. The kid from Notre Dame, the guard.
Young Teague
Oh, yeah, he nice.
DJ Wells
Marcus from Indiana.
Bishop B
Shout out to Indiana.
DJ Wells
Oh, great. Great basketball player.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah.
DJ Wells
Cole Cooper. Flag.
Young Teague
I'm cool.
Bishop B
The Great White Hope is on the way. Man, I gotta ask, man, y'all. I'm saying off the court. I know how y'all went on the court. How was, like, y'all kicking it off the court. Y'all talk about them Tequila and Sprites, man, how y'all get locked in like that?
Young Teague
I think it was more just like us loving the game. Like, we would talk about basketball off the court. So we'd be like, man, how can we get better looking at stats? Watching games like this, All I gotta do to me. And Shel was barely by the numbers. I can average 12 points a game right here. That'd give me 6 million a year. Like, we was like that. Like, we was just trying to map the game out. But we enjoyed playing. So we had talk about the game, then we just kick it, bro. He was just cool. We talk about. We still talk about playing Madden and stuff like that. NCAA football just came out. He never was really that good at video games, but he always wanted to play.
Justin Jefferson
I'm top. Top in the country. Hey, Matt, he ain't shell. I'm in the game, man.
DJ Wells
All right.
Justin Jefferson
I'm trying to tell you also, I think I was forced to go to team dinner all the time. After every road game we go to team dinner, we sitting there for three, four hours, just sitting there, hanging out, talking. No, obviously having Hendrick is the connection. He was able to relate on a lot of different things. Do people know anything about your wrestling fetish?
Young Teague
Yeah, everybody know I love wrestling.
DJ Wells
That's Balls.
Bishop B
Fetish is crazy.
Young Teague
Everybody know I love feet.
Justin Jefferson
My man watching 1976 wrestling matches. What's that?
DJ Wells
I guess that's a fetish. Fetish.
Young Teague
That'll turn me on.
Justin Jefferson
Fetish is a wild word.
Young Teague
That'll turn me on. He's a fan of wrestling, bro.
Justin Jefferson
Why? He said.
Young Teague
I don't know why he said fetish.
DJ Wells
But everybody know I like wrestling one piece.
Young Teague
He was a dead cat.
Justin Jefferson
In 1976, though. On the iPad, I'm like, bro, what.
DJ Wells
You got going on, bro?
Young Teague
Bro, I just like wrestling, bro. But you know what something else we relate to. We cheat.
DJ Wells
Whoa.
Young Teague
No. We cheat.
Justin Jefferson
What you talking about, cuz?
Young Teague
That's why we was going to the.
Bishop B
Team dinner so long.
Young Teague
We cheat, cheat, cheat.
Justin Jefferson
I just gotta watch your bro. You see what he.
Young Teague
No, we both cheap, bro.
Bishop B
We use.
Young Teague
We don't wanna spend money.
DJ Wells
Say that P. Bro, you ain't from Chicago.
Young Teague
Say that P. Man, look at him, bro. He tried get you caught up or something. I know.
Justin Jefferson
I got wide.
Young Teague
It's always him, bro.
DJ Wells
He was confused.
Young Teague
Too cheap. Like, we don't use the money.
Bishop B
We cheap.
DJ Wells
Frugal.
Bishop B
There we go. Frugal friends.
Young Teague
Cause that's how we used to go to them team dinners we like. Oh, he about to pay for us to eat again.
Justin Jefferson
I'll eat free.
Young Teague
Yeah. What?
Bishop B
Tequila on him.
Young Teague
Oh, shit.
Justin Jefferson
Why Jeff getting all the 1942 he can get?
Young Teague
For sure. My bill used to be 1,500 alone.
DJ Wells
Damn.
Young Teague
Who's paying for the seam dinner, bud?
Bishop B
Damn.
Young Teague
I was racking up. I was taking stuff back to the room. I was acting like Beh on the Ballon tab.
Bishop B
Yeah.
Justin Jefferson
Wow. That's how you be doing it. Yes.
Bishop B
He get a to go play everywhere we go.
Young Teague
He get two to go.
Justin Jefferson
Two to go.
DJ Wells
I do that regardless. What do I pay for the volume?
Young Teague
That nigga look at the bill. He just take his bags and leave. Might be like.
Bishop B
Mike Leftover Junior too.
John Mittelkoff
Ae.
Young Teague
Mike leftover?
DJ Wells
Yeah. Nigga, swipe that American Express fuck out of here.
Young Teague
What's wrong with him, man? They try to get people jammed up.
Justin Jefferson
Nah, we definitely cheap. I would say.
Young Teague
Yeah, we cheap.
Justin Jefferson
We going. We trying to go to get Saxon for 1000.
Young Teague
We like.
Justin Jefferson
Who else coming?
Bishop B
Oh, that's nasty.
Young Teague
I got 250 on it.
Justin Jefferson
Yeah, straight up.
Young Teague
Hey, like, Paul.
Bishop B
You going, Paul, be like, what you.
Young Teague
Done make the most money, man?
Bishop B
And they was in the league. Went ahead on the rack.
DJ Wells
That's how they was, bro.
Young Teague
Y'all getting a bottle. Bottom 300. I got 25. Be him tomorrow we all break it up, babe. Bring it all up.
Justin Jefferson
We was smart, man.
Young Teague
Trying to be.
Bishop B
That's funny, man.
DJ Wells
He's a hoe, man. I can't believe that nigga over there.
Bishop B
Oh, man. Hey, man, it's been real. Shell's family at the park, man. We gotta have you back, man. It's always a good time when you in the building, man.
