Welcome back to this episode of Deebo and Joe. I'm your host James Debo Harrison and I'm here with my co host Joe Hayden. Please make sure you like subscribe and download where you get your podcast. How you doing today Joe?
Joe Hayden
I'm doing great brother Debo. Beautiful Friday. Kids went off to school. They're excited. We got the good weekend coming up. Free agency coming up. I'm excited to see what people gonna do.
James Debo Harrison
Definitely. Definitely. Let's go ahead and jump into that thing real fast. Cause it's a prediction out here that it's gonna be a blockbuster trade for Michael Pittman coming over here. Michael Pittman Jr. Coming over to the Steelers.
Joe Hayden
Okay.
James Debo Harrison
To help put a tandem together with dk. What do you think of that dude?
Joe Hayden
I like it. I. I like Michael Pittman Jr. I know that we're going to need another receiver. My main guy that I would like. I think people are sleeping on my dude. I like Rasheed. I like Rashid Rasheed. What's my man name? Rasheed Taheed, the receiver from the Seahawks. I think that if we can get him, he's one of my sleeper picks at wide receiver because I think he's a dog receiver that people are looking around 13 to 15 million. He's a sneaky dude. And special teams, I think he will help out our special teams big time in the kickoff return game and in the punt return game along with his receiver skills. So I like him. I'm interested in Michael Pittman Jr. I think that he's good. I know he's coming off for 3 for 70 million him along with DK. I think both of those dudes though, like he's not a real number One to me. You know what I'm saying? I don't think he's like, put him over there. Put him at X. Get open. He can get it done. Really, really good receiver. I love him as a number two, but I think that's two number twos that we got. Legit is definitely an upgrade, but I
James Debo Harrison
don't think he's going to be the complete number two.
Joe Hayden
I feel like DK is the number two. A strong number two.
James Debo Harrison
Okay.
Joe Hayden
A strong number two.
James Debo Harrison
I guess everybody.
Joe Hayden
Everybody got their right to their own opinion. I think number one is somebody that you can just put over there. There's not too many real legit ones in the league that you can go put over there at the X that no matter what, gonna get it done. Do you know what I'm saying? Like Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson. Those are the two legit ones, like those best in the league. But I. I don't put DK in that. In that category right now.
James Debo Harrison
Why wouldn't you put him in that category? Because of last year? Or you say his whole body of work. Why would you not.
Joe Hayden
Not his whole body work just from. Just from last year. And drop. Dropping passes. I don't.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
He could be.
Joe Hayden
He's been a number one in his career before. I don't. I just didn't see it last year. And with him dropping those balls, I need you to be able to go over there and I depend on you. No matter what, you're going to get the job done. He didn't do it. I think he has it in his bag. If we get Pittman here, we'll help him out, get some pressure off of him, but I. I think that neither one of them dudes are legitimate ones, in my opinion.
James Debo Harrison
Okay. Understandable. Understandable. Yeah. I don't know, like, who. Who predicted this or. Or whatever it is. Michael Pittman Jr. Like you said, you know, I like it, but for me, I don't. I don't like it at. What is it, 29 million they will be giving him or. Or fitting in to, you know, what it is that he. He's. He would be making next year. And then, you know, along with that, you got, like you said, he's. He's not a real, Real number one. He's a legit, too. That's how I feel about. About him, about Michael Pittman Jr. And when you look at it, like, big body. Was he 6, 4, 2, 25. So he's a guy that, you know, uses his size to his advantage, you know, uses his body to get in the way so he can, you know, Cat, he attacks the ball. So he's, he's real quarterback friendly, you know, he's, he's actually making himself more available to be able to get down there. So you don't have guys cutting in front of the ball and, you know, knocking down passes or intercepts and passes. And again, like a big thing is he ain't got that separate speed, you know, he, that he, he like you, Joe. He like a four or five, two, you know, when it comes down to it.
Joe Hayden
So no, for sure he's not, he's not a burner. I would take that.
James Debo Harrison
So you looking at more of a mid range possessional type down and even I think, what was it last year or the year before, he was coming off of a fracture in his back or something like that. And a price tag, you know, 29 million. He's on a one year deal at that. So you would get him here and that would be the only year left and you paying premium. Like you said about the other guy, you could get for, you know, 15. You think you can get for 15 or so. So I wouldn't, I wouldn't consider that favorable for us. And again, it would depend on what you're giving up, what that future deal might look like if that was the case. I just, I don't, I don't think, I don't see it happen. I don't, I don't, I don't think it would happen again. Great, easy number two. But for that money, I don't, I don't see.
Joe Hayden
It's, it's all about dollars and cents. It's all about dollars and cents. We're looking at. When I'm looking at star receivers, in the end of the day, it is what it is. $30 million a year, you know what I'm saying? Making 30, making 40. I need you to be a legitimate guy. And when we're the Steelers, we can be using this legit money to do something else, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's no point of bringing in average. You're not average, you know what I'm saying? But guys that I don't think are going to do the needle, you know what I'm saying? Like, we got legitimate hoes that we need, so we got DK at the 30. We, we like when I'm looking at the. If you have two receivers making 30, we need a Jamar Chase and we need T. Higgins. I think those. When we need a George Pickens and we Need a cd Lamb. Like, I think those are the two, like legitimate ones that can. They, they have the. They can pay their receivers $30 million a piece because those are legit. They could be ones, you know what I'm saying? On any team with Pittman and with DK, that's $60 million. On our team of receivers that I don't think is worth it. For the Steelers, we can be able to do something different with that extra 30 ball that can bring things to the team. So with him, great players, somebody else might be able to take Pittman that's already just needs him to put them over. The, the, the just needs a number two receiver legit to put them over to win. To win something. Steelers need way more than that. So I think we could do more with the 30.
James Debo Harrison
Definitely. You. We're gonna stick with the stuff. Look, man, Mel Kuiper Jr. And Phil Yates, they NFL, they're mock dry. They got Ty Simpson going to the Steelers, bro. I don't know. I don't know about this one at all. Because for me the biggest thing is if you go and draft him, you're telling Will Howard right now, we have no hope. We have no desire to even give you a chance. Like he has no chance at all.
Joe Hayden
Yes, yes.
James Debo Harrison
And I ain't gonna lie. You know, Ben, he had, he had said something on his podcast. He, he cautioned him. Ben said, it seems like again, I'm still, I'm still very, very strong against getting a quarterback in the first round. I wouldn't even get one in the second round. Personally. I would pack. I wouldn't package my third rounder up to go up to get a second round quarterback. I would not mess with the quarterback draft. Basically saying he wouldn't mess with the quarterback draft this year. You agree with that? You disagree with that? What? Like, dude, Mel Kuiper done, he done crushed some people like talking about they coming out second, third round and them boys don't even get drafted sometimes. You know what I'm saying?
Joe Hayden
Yeah, I understand, I understand. I'm with, I'm, I'm not with the, I'm not with drafting Ty Simpson. This is, this is what I'm thinking. If the Steelers do draft it, it's Mike McCarthy wanting to work with him as a quarterback and not believing in Will Howard. Because if you draft the quarterback in the first round, he's going to get every opportunity to play. It's his job to lose. Like, I'm really not thinking they're having. Will Howard really going to have A chance to be in competition with this guy. When you had Mason Rudolph, when we had Aaron Rodgers go down, they put in Mason. So I just believe if they do draft a quarterback, it's going to be because Mike McCarthy does not believe in Will Howard and Howard's not going to get a chance anymore. I don't think that that's the case. I want us to go ahead and go with Wu Howard. We drafted him. I keep saying this. I want to die on the mountain of at least giving the dude a shot and building with these draft picks that we have at legitimate holes that we know we can fill. I want us to get some legitimate, like, linebacker. We know we need that receiver. They're looking at the receivers, they're studying them. They know we're going to get a guy that's going to be a T.J. watt mentality, bringing the work, work pail, coming to work hard, like, legitimately a guy that we need in the locker room that's going to help the guys. You know what I'm saying? Work hard, figure out what he needs to get done. So for me, I don't want us to get tied. I could see why they would say that. If Mel Kuiper and them thinking there's a quarterback they don't believe in Will, we need a quarterback on the team that's going to see if it's going to be the future. So that would be a reason. But for me, I'm with Ben. I don't think that we need to go out there reaching. I think we could try with will, with McCarthy, put him in a good system, get him a running game, get some people around him, get some pieces, and I think we can see what can happen. Like, I'm with Ben. Like, I don't. I think that that'll be a reach.
James Debo Harrison
I'm all. I'm all the way with you. I can't. I can't disagree with you on this one. And especially, you know, when you look at it, The Steelers are 100% back on the Rogers train. You know, I believe they're thinking that they're able to get him back, that we can come in, get a couple other guys filling spots, you know, that we need here and there, and it gives us a chance of winning it. And like I said last year, bro, without him last year, we. We don't even have a winning record, you know, And I believe Rogers on Wednesday, he said that there were no progressive conversations with the Steelers when he was on the Pat McAfee Show. He said, I Talked to. I talked to Mike. I talked to Omar. Roger said there's been no debt. There's been no deadline that's been, you know, that's been put in front of me. There's no contract offer or anything. So there's nothing that I've been debating between I'm a free agent and again off season. And, you know, I think the. Or I think there's conversations to be had down the line, but right now, I'm not. There hasn't been any progress, progressive conversations. You know, I love Mike, and Mike and I have kept in contact over the years, had conversations with Omar. I really think Omar, you know, enjoyed having me there. I think the guys had positive responses to our time together. But again, there hasn't been any real deadline set for me. There hasn't been any contract, you know, floated in front of me for me to, like, well, we're. We're giving you Till, you know, March 8th to make a decision. There hasn't been any thing like that. There has been nothing but respect. So there again, actually just sitting there waiting on Rogers, and I mean, hey, like I said, man, no fun. The rapid got the gun. Rapper got the gun right now, man. You know y' all want it. So I'm trying to tell them what they. What he's saying without having to say it. Look, That's what he's saying right here, Joe. He's saying, I don't know if I want to come back, but I want to come back. But I need to see what kind of numbers y' all putting in front of me to make it more likely that I feel like I want to come back. That's what I think he's saying. But the Steelers are saying at the same time, I told you, I go both ways. I could sit on the other side of the table. I can see the 6 and the 9. But the Steelers are saying, like, we ain't gonna offer you no money unless we know you wanna come back. Why the Steelers saying that? Because they wanna know that he want to come back. Because if he wanna come back, we feel like now we can give him a lower number to get him to come back. So he's sitting back. They sitting back. It's gonna be about who go sit back the longest, who feel more comfortable about where they at. Because if you go through the draft and you don't do nothing, you go through free agency and you don't do nothing to fill his void, his power gets stronger. Man saved us last year. Let's be honest. Would you what? You what you think?
Joe Hayden
No, you do. I. I think you're right. I think you're right. It just is crazy to me. I mean, end of the day, do the Steelers still want to stay attached like you? I feel you. I hear what you're saying. With the rabbit got the gun, the time, the timeline, it's like, I respect a Rod. A Rod can do whatever he wants. He deserves the right. He don't owe the Steelers nothing. He don't owe McCarthy nothing. He don't owe nobody nothing. So when I'm saying this, I'm saying, do the Steelers. When you saying you giving him the power, I'm like, guys, if standing in there and letting him kind of control your destiny, of like, do you want to come back? Are you going to come back? I think when they do, like you said, time, only time is going to tell you, we got till March 8. Are you going to say something or not? When the free agency comes, are they going to bring any quarterbacks in or not? When the draft comes, are they going to draft Ty Simpson or not? Then that's when action speaks louder than words. So a Rod, really, he's trying to chilling, but I'm looking at the steals like they're saying they kind of want him back when he's a free agent. They're not. There's no offer on the deal. There's no offer on the table. So a Rod's kind of saying, like, do they. How much. Do they. How much do they want him back? Like, you're just saying something. But if there's no deal on the table, if there's no numbers, there's no one for. What is it, 10? Is it 9? Is it 8? Is it 12? You know what I'm saying? So you could say you want somebody, but actions be louder than words. And then so everybody's kind of just sitting in low right now.
James Debo Harrison
I see. I don't. I don't think they understand they're gonna have to get some back pay for last year, you know.
Joe Hayden
You think?
James Debo Harrison
Yeah, and I think. And. And I think. I think that's what, you know, he's sitting there like, yo, what you go offer? Like, after what I did for you?
Joe Hayden
I say, what do you play for last year? What did he play for last year? Like, what was like 12.
James Debo Harrison
12 to 15 somewhere around there? I want to say 15. Yeah, yeah, listen, average starting quarterback now, what is that, like 25, 30?
Joe Hayden
Yes, yes, for sure. I mean, all right, put 40 on
James Debo Harrison
there and give it to me, y'. All y' all throw 40 right now.

Joe Hayden
There's no way not. Not at 42.
James Debo Harrison
It don't matter. You talking about one year. You want to. You want to. That's gonna be up to the Steelers. Are we rebuilding or are we reloading? That's the thing they want to get away from. They afraid of that rebuild word they afraid of. They don't want to have a down year. You know what I'm saying? So when you do that.
Joe Hayden
It was one for 13.6.
James Debo Harrison
13.6. Plus he got some bonuses for making the playoffs, didn't get the win. But I'm saying same thing.
Joe Hayden
I got you up to 19,5.
James Debo Harrison
Very few other quarterbacks could have got you into that would have been nobody. That would have been at the price. He did it for zero. You owe me some back pay.
Joe Hayden
Not taking. Hey, Rob. And for $30 million.
James Debo Harrison
Okay, so you cool as the owner who has been saying that this is not a rebuilt, this is a reload, and we're going to go out here and compete for a championship and then saying that I'm starting Will Howard as the starter. But. And okay, so what are you saying? Like, you gotta. You something. Gotta give your words. Your. Your words gotta match your actions.
Joe Hayden
It's going to be incentives. It's going to have incentives in it the same way. Guaranteed money, but incentive based in it. We bring them back.
James Debo Harrison
Ain't no way you're getting him back for a guarantee of less than 20 million. No way.
Joe Hayden
All right. Yeah, we'll see. Do you think, you think, you think he's going to come back? You think they're going to sign him back for $20 million? That. That's the thing. Do you think it's going to happen?
James Debo Harrison
Signing back for 20, anything over that, they might have a hard time agreeing to now, everything else could be incentive based since, you know, we ain't won a playoff game in what, 10, 11 years now. He could probably be like, first playoff win, 5 million, 8 million, everyone after that, whatever, and he could get it up to 40, 50.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, I, I hear you. I hear you. It makes sense. If you talking about trying to win right now and not really trying to reload and not rebuild all that stuff. You're making sense. You. I understand what you're saying. For me, I don't know. They better make sense, though.
James Debo Harrison
All right, man. I'm just saying, you know, hell, Pat McAfee, man, has said that, you know, the Steelers reportedly consulted him during the hiring of Mike McCarthy. He said they basically asked, well, Pittsburgh Steelers people. I don't know who exactly who he was talking about, but they basically asked how it was dealing with Mike McCarthy, because he was on their show a lot. He did a few appearances on the show. You got a problem with this show? You like this move? You don't like this move by the Steelers or Steelers persons or people, whatever that may be.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, I don't know specifically who he talked to, but, I mean, I'm not, I'm not mad at it. I like McAfee. He played in the game. He played for a while. You know what I'm saying, like, he has an opinion on, you know, he knows what the league was like. And, like, I'm not. I'm not mad at it at all.
James Debo Harrison
No.
Joe Hayden
Are you?
James Debo Harrison
No. You got. You know what I'm saying?
Joe Hayden
We ask people. They ask people that don't know what's going on about other people all the time. Getting somebody that actually was in the game, that actually interacted with coaches, that talks to players all the time was in the locker room. You know what I'm saying? And I love the way he played. You know what I'm saying? So you getting information from somebody that's actually in it, that actually does it, that people do have respect for. Yeah, ask him. You know what I'm saying? Cause he's gonna give it. I don't find Pat McAfee a person that lies about his opinion on how he feels about somebody. If he doesn't like someone, if he feels like he rubbed them around, he'll let you know. And just be honest. He's not just out there trying to bash people. And you asking, like, people ask other consultants and people like this all the time that didn't play, and they take their advice. So I like that he acts somebody that actually has an opinion, that's been in locker rooms and actually interacts with these people of, you know, I'm saying, do your due diligence. Ask everybody. Did people ask when we do the combines, they're asking about you talk to your high school teachers. They talk to all these people, man. Them dudes don't, man. Why you talk to Buddy like he's fried. I didn't like my middle school teacher. She was actually the worst. You know what I'm saying? Like, no. So talking to Pat McAfee, that I find it cool, dope. And it's not like, if Pat McAfee said that he didn't have a great relationship, that wouldn't have been the reason why they didn't hire him. You just taking in different opinions and getting people's perspective about people. Sure, I like it.
James Debo Harrison
I'm all with it, man. But your boy Quayshawn, was it Qu'. Sean Junkins.
Joe Hayden
Quaishon Junkins.
James Debo Harrison
He said he had something interesting to say about his, well, current head coach and past head coach.
Joe Hayden
Listen to it.
James Debo Harrison
Well, different coaches over the past couple years.
Joe Hayden
Have you heard from your new head
James Debo Harrison
coach, Todd Monkey yet? Bro, I have. And, bro, honestly, like, it's not what I thought it would have been like.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
I thought it was going to be,
James Debo Harrison
like, more so, like, because My. My past coach bro, he was like, really even kill, bro. Like super quiet. I thought I was going to get that from Coach Monkin, but it wasn't that, like he was like a real players coach, bro, like, you know, like, give me a hug, like all that, bro. So he was just super communicative of. Of what he wanted from the team, what his goal is, what his objective is, what he want to come in and do. And you know, he knows exactly what he wants and he has a vision. And I think that's what's important as a head coach and especially being vocal about it too. I think that's what matters. I respect the cr. What you got to say about that, Joe? What is he saying, Joe, about his current coach and his past coach?
Joe Hayden
That there are two different types of coaching styles. And I'm not here to bash coach Stefanski because there's also good coaches that are super laid back and have a different approach to it, but there's coaches like Todd Monkin that obviously players can relate to a little bit more. And that's just more. You know what I'm saying? Give me a hug. You know what I'm saying? More relationship based. And nobody's saying that that's a better way to do it. Nobody's saying that the more laid back way is the way to do it. But I can say for Juckins, he's obviously speaking on what he's known as a coach before and then this one's more personable, more letting them know what it is. More just a different type of coach that he had before. And I'm here for it, you know what I'm saying? Like that's one thing. Like all the. There's two different ways to skin a cat. Like you said, two things could be right at the same time. There's two different. And he just likes that type of coach a little bit more. And I can respect it because for me as a player, it didn't matter to me. I'm here to do a job. But if you do have a coach that is more boom, like you can feel like you have a more relationship that you vibe with. This is the same way you have a boss at your job. It may be a boss that's more not relatable. But if you get the job done, you treat me with respect. You're here to do a job, I'm here to do a job. But I do not mind us being here to do a job and us being able to have a certain type of relationship. So sometimes that can get a little bit more of a. Players like players, coaches, when you see the Lions coach, when you see the Patriots coach, when you see the ones that played before, they have a certain little vibe that they just interact with. Coaches interact with players a different way, and it could still be that that stuff when they're in the tape doesn't lie. They can address you in a way. They're going to coach you up the right way. They're not going to let you get away with stuff. That doesn't mean that we're going to be buddy, buddy. It just means the way that I address you is still, I need the best out of you. I'm still gonna let you know when you're doing right, when you're doing wrong. But we still have that type of relationship. So I know what he's saying, from the coaching perspective of coaches just move and shake a different way and they have different relationship with their players. So I know what he's saying there. But it's not like I'm not here to bash the fancy, because that's not like, it's not. It's not bad if you're not really as relatable to your players. It's just different styles of coaching.
James Debo Harrison
I'm a kind of six in one hand, half dozen other. I think what he's saying here is more of a personal preference for himself, and I think that's what a lot of guys are getting into, especially players nowadays, is the emotional attachment to a coach versus the results of it. He wanted more of an or, he likes more of an emotional attachment. He's a player's coach. He's this, he's that. But for me, the thing that kills all that is winning. It don't matter what type of coach he is. You just said yourself, Patriots Bill was not that dude. Not even close to that guy. But winning, nobody was like, man, I wish my coach was this, and I wish my coach was that. No, they sitting over there with, you know, six Lombardi's, they don't give a damn about how they coach talks to them, approaches them. And here's another issue. When you get into those emotional and personal connections with the coaches, you forget it's a business.
Joe Hayden
No, for sure.
James Debo Harrison
Like. And when it comes down to it, he is not gonna hesitate to get rid of you, no matter how he feels about you. If it comes down to him or you being the reason that he's going to get up out of there. Yeah.
Joe Hayden
You know, and that. And. And that's the part that I. It's two things could be like, when you're getting coached up by a coach and you had that relationship, it does not matter if the eye in the sky don't lie. If you're not performing well, that relationship doesn't matter. You're still going to be able to have a good relationship with your coach and be like, yeah, you can. You're probably.
James Debo Harrison
Your relationship is, you know what I'm saying, personal. And it's not.
Joe Hayden
No, no. Under. Understandable. But, you know, as a football player, it don't matter. That relationship is not going to be more than your tape is going to show. You're still going to get chopped if you're not performing well. Coach might not even be able to tell you that. And you can't knock. Put your relationship, your personal relationship over that at all, because that don't matter. You know what I'm saying? That's the main thing. The main thing is the main thing. You got to perform. You got to play right on tape. If you think that he's going to be able to tell you, like, if you're not performing well, your coach gonna be able to tell you that you're not performing well, period. And you're gonna realize you might get chopped, but don't think your coach is gonna be able to save you from getting chopped because of your personal relationship. You know what I'm saying?
James Debo Harrison
I think. I think some guys get that a little skewed up. Like, I'm hurt. I'm down a little bit. Coach, go understand, you know, give me time to come back. Some coaches ain't gonna understand that. No, they only really care about that, to be honest with you, because y' all think y' all friends like you, me, yeah. Hey, Joe down bad right now. James down bad right now. Give him a chance, you know, back. Let him get back healthy. No, we ain't got that time. We ain't got that time. I'm the coach. We ain't got that time to do that.
Joe Hayden
There were. They're talking about those numbers and where does your. Where's your salary fit in? And can we move on from him? What do we owe who can we get him for exactly what can we support him? That's that you're a piece of the puzzle at the end of the day, so don't get that part messed up. You know what I'm saying? But the relationship, like, it's cool to have a good, good vibe, like, you know what it is. But if you're still. If you're Balling. You know what I'm saying? If you're not balling, you still have that relationship. But you. You, You. He can. He's gonna cut you, like, with no hesitation.
James Debo Harrison
Like I'm gonna tell you right now, dig LeBeau. Dig LeBeau is a dude that cared about you no matter how you were playing, no matter if you were playing for him or not. I still talk to the man this day. I talked to him when I was in Cincinnati. Like, he was a person that truly cared about you as a person. The performance on the field, yeah, it mattered. But that didn't dictate how much he cared about you and his approach to you.
Joe Hayden
That no for sure.
James Debo Harrison
That is unbelievable. Like, that. That's hard to find, man. You know, y' all browns over there, man. I mean, you got miles out here. What? He got his ninth speeding ticket since2017, man. He was allegedly going over 100 miles an hour, but the officer opted to cite him for a lesser offense. Joe, what's. What's going on, man? I think your boy got his Last ticket in February 21st at 1:35am Coming up, Worcester, Ohio. And you're lucky it was miles, Gary. Dude, a hundred. August, it was a hundred miles an hour and 60, like 20, 22. He was cited for failure to control a motor vehicle in a single car accident where he messed up his shoulder and his bicep, I think. And that was 65. In a. In a. In a 45. I don't think these boys understand, like, what. What it is in Ohio, man. And like, I don't know. I don't know about nowhere else, but I know Ohio because I'm from Ohio, Okay? Now, anything that's 20 or more, they can hit you with this thing called reckless operation. Okay? Now, they don't necessarily. Or they. They don't necessarily hit you with it automatically, but now you don't left that choice into the discretion of the officer who stops you, because now he can add some stuff on top. Like, you was weaving in and out. You almost caused a dangerous situation. Or they just say you was racing another car I couldn't even catch up to, and you're the only person I caught. And you know what the penalty is for that, dude? The max penalty they can give you for that? 30 days in jail, a fine.
Joe Hayden
Yeah.
James Debo Harrison
And suspend your license for six months. Okay? So why would I allow somebody else to put the freedom of myself in jeopardy? Because the officer now has a choice to just make up some stuff, and it's gonna be his word against yours. And, hey, I popped my likes on. By the time I popped my lights on, he was the only person I could catch up. The other one took off. You know, I believe they was racing. No.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, you gotta. You gotta slow down. You gotta slow down. It's too many times. Miles going a little bit too fast. Love Miles to death. Great dude, great character. But the speed and tickets, you gotta slow down. Like, it's just. They're racking up. Safety first, Miles. You got a lot of bread, you got a lot to lose. I just need you to get like a. Get a driver, something. And it's not saying that he's drunk, drinking and driving. He's just going too fast. That's what I'm saying. He's just going too fast. We just need him to slow down because it's just. It's not safe.
James Debo Harrison
You.
Joe Hayden
You can go to a track, you can do any miles, you can go anywhere that you want. I know you got nice cars, good, fast cars. Take him to the track. It's just not a good look. I'm glad that he's not. He hurt himself a little bit one time, like when he got into the single car accident. So just from me looking for my man Miles. Love him to death. Great, dude. Just slow it down a little bit, brother, because you know you don't want it. It could be. It could happen in the flash, like, going that fast. So, yeah, just slow it down, man. Take. Be careful. Take care of yourself.
James Debo Harrison
Yo, yo. You're a Rounds fan, but I ain't.
Joe Hayden
I know you're not.
James Debo Harrison
Miles. Go ahead. Give you this morning, brother. I got some friends in Ohio, some state troopers, some polices. Now, listen, I'm giving you this warning. I'm just letting you know, if somebody happened to catch you doing 20 or over, and you playing the Steelers anytime within 28 days, I'm telling them, take your ass to jail for 30. See,
Joe Hayden
Miles, you got people like Debo out there trying to get you, trying to get you behind bars. Just slow it down a little bit, brother. Come on, man.
James Debo Harrison
I'm just saying, man. You know, I'm just saying. I'm just letting you know, man.
Joe Hayden
You know, just slow down, brother.
James Debo Harrison
That's all I was saying, man. You know what I'm saying?
Joe Hayden
I'm telling you, my Miles, you got good people out, you know what I'm saying? Everything's going good. You can pull up by the good cops, you know what I'm saying? Make sure everything's solid. But then you got. I had Debo's people messing around.
James Debo Harrison
Hey, you know, you know, you know the blue run deep. You know they stick together.
Joe Hayden
Let's be careful. Let's be careful.
James Debo Harrison
I got, I got my. I got my badge too. Got my badge too. You hold on.
Joe Hayden
Are you impersonating?
James Debo Harrison
Hey listen, I impersonate office it says

James Debo Harrison
Hey look friend of the chief. Hey.
Joe Hayden
About to get you locked.
James Debo Harrison
Make sure when I pull my ID out I have it sitting on the side right there like hey, see My ID right here. What's that? Oh, that's just my friend gave.
Joe Hayden
Oh, you know, it's a little badge. Do you. Do you say. You know it's a little bad.
James Debo Harrison
Yeah, I ain't got. It's right there.
Joe Hayden
Do you say friend of the chief beef? Do you say friends?
James Debo Harrison
Okay, I ain't gonna say nothing.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, all right. I want to see. Make sure friend of is the same size. Hey, hey, hey.
James Debo Harrison
I ain't gotta say nothing, man. I ain't gotta say nothing. Look here, man.
Joe Hayden
Okay.
James Debo Harrison
You know what I'm saying? The Bears traded for right receiver DJ Moore.
Joe Hayden
Okay.
James Debo Harrison
What do you think of that? Okay. All right.
Joe Hayden
For the Bills, I mean, they. They need a receiver. They need a receiver. I'm not mad at DJ Moore, you know what I'm saying? Maybe still not a one. Good two. You know, they had Shakira over there doing pretty good. Coleman can do better. He still hasn't done what he needed to do as from his rookie year. So I like him and I. I don't think they're done. They can't be done for him. Second and the fifth fine second round pick. You know what you're gonna get. I like DJ Moore for a second round pick.
James Debo Harrison
Right.
Joe Hayden
You know, you see solid.
James Debo Harrison
As soon as they signed him, they. So as soon as they signed him, they're going to guarantee a portion of his 28 contract. 15.5 million is guaranteed when they sign this man. Plus 23, 5 on 26 and 27. Especially with them boys. They've been running the ball more than they've been doing anything else, bro.
Joe Hayden
You're going to need to get eventually
James Debo Harrison
a receiver and, well, not. Not we. What they need to do is try and fix the bigger issue of Allen turning the ball over with the interceptions and the fumbles when he extending plays and stuff like that. That's getting them kicked.
Joe Hayden
You get somebody that's actually going to get open. They're trying to help him right there. DJ Moore, he's not bad. He's good. And last year he played 17 games. He was hooping. So I'm. I'm not mad at them trying to go get them legit player that they know.
James Debo Harrison
All right, Just let DJ Moore go in.
Joe Hayden
Why did the Bears. Because they drafted a lot of receivers and they know they. They got some.
James Debo Harrison
They.
Joe Hayden
They can get rid. They don't want to. They don't want to have a contract. They don't want to have a contract anymore. And they got them young boys that they just drafted that they want and expect to start balling.
James Debo Harrison
That's why I don't know about it.
Joe Hayden
I'm not gonna knock.
James Debo Harrison
I'm knocking. I'm knocking it. I told you I could sit on both sides. I'm sitting in the owner's seat right now.
Joe Hayden
No, no, for sure. I'm only reason why I'm trying to go with. I'm rocking with the Bills because you got to do something where we like, he doesn't have anybody to throw it to. They're trying to go get somebody to throw it to. And I don't think that they're done with help. We're trying to help with help. We're getting him other receivers. So I can't be saying that. Oh, no, he don't have no receivers. And they go get DJ Moore. And I'm like, no, that's terrible. Like, no, that's. That's straight. Okay. You're trying to get somebody to help out Josh Allen, obviously. Okay, that's a good piece. They're not done. It's still so much time when free agency still isn't done. They still got the draft. They still got a lot of time to still do things. But first, move DJ Moore. We need a receiver. We've been talking about it. Boom. Okay, you still not done yet. But I like the way that you're going. I like the way that. The path. You addressing some shit that Josh Allen needed. You know what I'm saying?
James Debo Harrison
What you're saying. But I don't know. You know, I gotta sit on us.
Joe Hayden
You talking money wise. You like. That's a lot of bread. That's a lot of bread. I'm gonna look at it. So look at it as a two year. Three.
James Debo Harrison
So no, it's three.
Joe Hayden
Guaranteeing that some money. Three year. He's coming to a three year. What? 20. 2014. 20. 2014. 60. Okay. Three. Three for 60.
James Debo Harrison
No, once you guarantee. Once you get that. Guaranteed that 15, 5. You basically got the right. You gotta do the other. What is it, 13 something or whatever. 20, 40, 60, almost 70 something for three.
Joe Hayden
We gonna. Let me go look at that. Yeah, let me go look at the calendar. It looked like they were still paying in. I don't know if they're paying the whole thing this first year.
James Debo Harrison
They got to. They just traded for him. They gave up. You think they go, no, that's yours now it's off my books. That's the thing with the. The coach receiver. Like, what's his name? Michael. Michael Pittman.
Joe Hayden
Michael Pittman.
James Debo Harrison
They what? Almost 5 million over the cap. And they got 25, 29 or something sitting on their books right now. I think that, I think they're supposed to give them like 24 million in room or something like that just from him being moved.
Joe Hayden
Okay, you're right. Yeah, that's gonna be a bag, bruh.
James Debo Harrison
Like they just grabbed. Look, man, ESPN even gave him some bad grades. They gave Bears the A and gave, gave the bills of the D.
Joe Hayden
Yeah, because it said bring it. Bills bringing in March 2026, bringing him with average of 27.5 annual with roughly 82.6 million in total. Come on, bro.
James Debo Harrison
That.
Joe Hayden
Yep. I ain't gonna lie. That's a lot. That's, that's, that's, that's, that's a little bit of. That's, that's, that's a lot. He got him.
James Debo Harrison
Oh, now he got him. I ain't gonna knock nobody, but now you see, you see the whole thing.
Joe Hayden
Hey, listen, he ain't get him. He ain't get him. Okay? What do you want to say? That's a good deal for him.
James Debo Harrison
No question. What are they doing?
Joe Hayden
The first. What is he doing now?
James Debo Harrison
Yeah.
Joe Hayden
Then I'm trying to say. What you saying like this? No, I ain't put it like that.
James Debo Harrison
No, I'm just saying like I was, I was with you. I'm just saying it took you a minute to go ahead. I'm good at convincing. You know what I'm saying? I gotta show you. Once I show you, I'll put it in front of you. You can't deny it.
Joe Hayden
So they signed up for a three year, 27.5 a year. Okay, three years for 82 at 27.5 a year. That's a, that's a, that's a good. And that's all guaranteed? Yeah, fully guaranteed. That's a good deal. He, he hit him with the Kirk Cousins jump. I love the contract. I love the contract. I'm not saying DJ Moore's not worth it, but you know, that's 27, five there every year for the next three. Now we gonna have to figure out what they're gonna do with the rest of the funds.
James Debo Harrison
That's what we go figure out. We go figure out. I mean, they got some room now. They got the. Was it Drew Dolman? He. He retired at 27. Dude. This dude, Pro bowl all Pro, he retired at 27. Just walked away from a 43 million dollar contract, bro. He said he worried about the side effects.
Joe Hayden
What contract? How much is.
James Debo Harrison
It was 43. He just signed it Just this past year.
Joe Hayden
Damn. What you think, Debo?
James Debo Harrison
Oh, you know, his dad, though, his dad played in, played in the NFL 93 to 2000 with the 49ers. Chris, I think maybe it's a situation where, you know, he doesn't, like you said, he ain't got no issues now, but he may be seeing some side effects, maybe that his pops is dealing with, who knows? And he's not a, he's not a stupid guy. He's from what, Stanford? So he gotta, he gotta have, you gotta have a head on his shoulders and then think about it.
Sponsor/Ad Voice
The,
James Debo Harrison
the, the Ravens lineman that retired at 26 because he was worried about long term brain CTE. Chromatic traumatic encephalopathy CTE. He's, he got up. He has a Ph.D. in mathematics from MIT, bro. I believe he's a professor there now. Like, so I think these guys are like just becoming, you know, more aware. Especially when you got dudes that's like super smart, especially to do from the Ravens. The lineman, like, the stuff he was doing, dude, like brain activity got to be on, on cue. Like you talking, what was it? Numerical linear algebra? I don't even know what the hell that means. Yo. It just, it's too many words. Graph theory, data science, algorithms. I don't even know what that means. But all I know is the level of thought and process that it, it takes to do it is something he can't afford to, to lose sales to playing this game. And when it comes down to it, a lot of guys right now, especially now, have some understanding of, you know, what the risk is, what, what, what could happen. And when it comes down to it, it's like, am I willing to risk that for, you know, what it is that, that I'm going to get? And for me, like, personally, it was worth it. And you know, until it wasn't worth it. I could have, you know, I could have went back to, to New England. You know, Bill wanted me, he was going to let me know what was going on after the draft, but mine wasn't. I wasn't worried about brain health, to be honest with you though. I just, I did a whole, I still do stuff to, you know, help with, with things to help for the, you know, the trauma and the injuries that occur, you know, from you hitting people. You know, rather it's stars, rings, dings or whatever, all that is. And like, I just did a lot of stuff as far as like, you got like light waves, you got like frequency, like your body works by that it heals by that it does all kind of stuff like that you supplements especially things to help like boost your like your neurocognitive activity like and. And help repair you know at least whatever may be damage or or connections that's dormant, you know in your neurological activity in your brain. So I. I did a lot of stuff during my time playing and I still do stuff now after, you know, I've been done playing. And for him I think it just came down to a. He wasn't willing to risk it for what the reward or lack of reward was for him would that's. That's where I see it.
Joe Hayden
I think you you saying the right stuff. I mean I think it's the same way. I think it's a lot of people just becoming a lot more, you know aware. You know what I'm saying? What's going on being able to save their money. Like looking at it at the end of the day they weren't playing football to be now it's like a. It's a jump start. Like you're hitting the lottery every single year that you play. You're playing a game that you love and you'll be able to set a jump start to. This isn't wasn't their see all be all. A lot of these dudes like you said smart dudes really really smart have a lot of other things that they want to do in their life. Have a lot of other visions, have like families and just want to do other things. And being able to play in the NFL for a lot for some people is that jumpstart that nugget that when he hit that contract that three for 42 one year he made $16 million. He like this boom. I could tuck nine of this now and I could not I can go do whatever I want to do. NFL came and blessed me. I did what I needed to do. And being able to like that's generational money. So certain people are like oh I need 2 million, $3 million and I can literally live and do whatever I want, make my little investment. Me and my family, we don't need much. So some dudes that are just smarter like I don't want to keep hurting my body playing the game. Been doing it since like they were little all long way keep doing like all this time all this wear and tear it is a real thing. So bodies and just being able to take care of that stuff and like certain like I'm on the so I can see how certain people could have their stuff right figured it out like look, this is what I need. I'm able to gracefully bow out. I have other plans. This was amazing. Like, no, I'm good. Some dudes don't have kind of that option. Like, this is football. This is what we do. Like, nah, I'm going until the wheels fall off. I love this game. Like, no, are you kidding me? I'm getting to play this game. Game, this child. I'm going to play until you're not going to let me play no more. So other people are like, there's different people that didn't. Never had nothing. Like, nah, I didn't know what. This could really change my life, my family's life and other certain people, like, dudes that just don't really need to do it. Families played in the league, father's playing the league, got other businesses, got other things that it's 24 hours in a day. But I'm actually just good at football. I don't need it. I'm just good at it. And it's dang, Now I get to play in the league and y' all are paying me to do this. Like, I don't love it. You know what I'm saying? It's just. It's thing that I do. You could love it, but you, like, man, kind of loving what it brings to you. But people are in different situations. But when you starting to see now dudes that can step away from it, like, understanding this thing is. It's hurting my body. I got what I needed from it, and I literally have other things that I can go do now. I can see why. I can see it happening.
James Debo Harrison
Yeah. I think a lot of guys get into the league and they're like, you know what? I'm gonna make enough money so I ain't gotta ever work again. And that is very, very, very rarely on true. I should say it's very rarely true that you actually get to be able to have that ability to do that. Because a lot of guys don't have that, you know, education of how to manage their money, what to do with their money. A lot of guys don't see the incoming.
Joe Hayden
It's just a lot of. A lot of dudes, bro, like, when we think about the. The ones that are able to literally just gracefully bow out, we've seen just smarter, like, not smarter, but just young, like, young educated men that really just like, all right, this isn't what I. And it's not a bad thing, but they don't need it. You know what I'm saying? Like, they don't need to feel like the wear and tear on their body. I have other plans to go do other things. That's just something they have a plan
James Debo Harrison
B, the football, they got a plan. May have been they plan A, but they had a plan, you know, two A on the backup that was like, okay, if I get to this point right here playing this game, then I'm gonna make sure, man, as soon as I can a lot of these up out of here and get into what it is that I really want to do.
Joe Hayden
I've never seen, I'm tell you this, but, like, I've never seen one of our young brothers, like, step out of that joint yet. Because a lot of the young black dudes who. I'm just saying, for one thing, we. That's. That was. That's the game. That's the goal was going to the league. Like, that's why a lot of them. You know what I'm saying? Being able to manage the money and stuff. Like, no, we're in the league. Making this bread. Oh, yeah, for sure.

I.
Joe Hayden
This is what I've been trying to do since I was a kid. Some other dudes, but now being able to know me, being able to have a plan B, knowing that it's not gonna last forever, you know what I'm saying? Like, being able to look back on it. But dudes playing football, making the bag, doing what you loved as you was a kid, like, it's just something I know for you and me that you couldn't just step away from off the rip. But if you had playing Bs, Cs, real things like being able to stack your cheese, be healthy, having another move that you want to do, it's good
