Joe
I'm doing great today, brother. Deebo. Doing great.
Hayden
You know why?
Joe
Do you know why?
Hayden
Why?
Joe
Because what I told you what was gonna happen happened. I told you my Cavs was gonna go handle business. Detroit did what it had to do. They protect the home court. Cavs protect the home court. You saw what happened. And now Monday again today, game tonight we're gonna handle our home court again and it's gonna be two to two now. It's right back, back to even surfaces. Now we need to get and steal one in Detroit. That's how it gets. You need to steal home court. We need to go get one from they crib.
Hayden
So yes, I kind of, you know, forgive me for, you know, doing, doing this or going back and like kind of looking at, you know, looking at this, I'm kind of, I don't know, I'll Just say this.
Joe
What?
Hayden
Last time you wore something that was LA and just got popped. Before that, you wore something that was Cleveland. Cleveland got popped back to back before that. Now you're wearing something that's Cleveland. And they play tonight. Yeah. And you're gonna be the reason they get popped. See?
Joe
No, no, Deebo, no, no. I get popped again, I be switching. I'd be switching jerseys. I be switching. I rep sports teams.
Hayden
You know what I'm saying?
Joe
So I just be wearing jerseys.
Hayden
Did you not forget last show? You switched right before we got on. You switched right before we got on. Joe.
Joe
I switched hoodie.
Hayden
You had on some Cleveland, but you put on the Laker.
Joe
Joe. I don't know.
Joshua Cribbs
And they got popped.
Hayden
I wish you had kept that Cleveland on because they would have got popped again.
Joe
But didn't. But didn't I tell you my. Honest. Didn't I tell you what I expected to really happen? I said that the Lakers. You know what I'm saying? It was way.
Hayden
I think you subconsciously knew in your head that if you kept that Cleveland on, it was going to be a. It was gonna be trouble. I think. I think you knew it was gonna be trouble, Joe.
Joe
No, it's on. James Harden, he did what he had to do. He cooked in the fourth. Donovan Mitchell. I was on watching it live.
Hayden
Well, I'm just saying. Joe, you got Cleveland on today. Don't they play tonight?
Joe
Yes, and we're gonna win tonight.
Hayden
Listen, I'm just saying, every time you work Cleveland, they lost. Every time you were la, they lost. I'm just saying.
Joe
Whatever.
Hayden
Oh, oh, it's whatever. I'm looking back. I'm looking, I'm looking, I'm looking. I'm looking. I'm looking right now. I'm looking back and. And I'm looking like. Yes, that's. Oh, this.
Joe
That's what you really telling me. On Friday I wore Lakers.
Hayden
That hat.
Joe
Yeah, it was a Lakers hat. But it was a. But it was a. It was a. It was a. It was a jersey, though, the hat.
Hayden
Hey, hey, listen.
Joshua Cribbs
Don't.
Hayden
Don't let me get in your. Hey, Joe, don't get in my head.
Joe
Don't get in my head. Just know I was telling you what. I told you what was supposed to happen. We won like I told you and we gonna win again and we're gonna be two. Two.
Hayden
Listen, where my tile at, man? You know, I get fresh from the gym. I gotta.
Joe
Come on.
Hayden
Yes, sir. Hey.
Joe
Okay. What's up?
Hayden
About to get popped tonight?
Joe
No, you tripping. You know, we not. No, we not.
Hayden
And when they do, I was, I was really hoping.
Joe
I'm like, I hope you wanted us to lose bad.
Hayden
I'm like, I hope Joe come in here with something clean. You know, we. Hey, listen, all I'm saying is I'm just testing theory out, all right? And it's been 100 so far.
Joe
Keep saying I. I'd be forgetting what jersey I wore, so I understand exactly.
Hayden
If that's good, right? That's good. I don't want you paying attention. I don't want you paying attention.
Joe
Yeah, I see you.
Hayden
Hey, I want you to represent Cleveland every year.
Joe
I can't trust you. I think you're lying. That's the thing.
Hayden
I ain't gonna lie to you, Joe.
Joe
What?
Hayden
What I need to lie to you for, Joe?
Joe
Because you don't want. You don't want my teams to succeed. You do not want my team to see. You don't want the Lakes to succeed.
Hayden
If I'm lying to you, if I'm lying to you, then you can go back and see it and be like, oh, he's lying to me.
Joe
Okay, but you're right, you're right, you're right.
Hayden
The problem is, ask the chat, they
Joe
know what you wore. Did I wear. What did I wear on Friday? I wore a Lakers hat. I know. I for sure wore Lakers hat. I definitely remember that. It said Lakers champions hat.
Hayden
Number five yellow jersey. Right?
Joe
Number five yellow jersey.
Hayden
Chat, chat, please.
Joe
Oh, Lakers. I wore the champions. I wore the 17 time championship Lakers,
Hayden
17 time NBA jersey.
Joe
I did wear the hat, but I don't remember what jersey you wore.
Hayden
It was. Listen, it was nothing. Cavs. It was all associated to Laker colors. Before that it was Cleveland.
Joe
Dang.
Hayden
I wore soccer and they got.
Joe
Yeah, I did. Okay. I wore a Steelers jersey and a Lakers hat.
Hayden
Everybody know Joe. Hey, it's okay.
Joe
All right. Okay.
Hayden
All right. It's okay.
Joe
Are you testing your theory?
Hayden
Why do I need to lie, Joe?
Joe
Why?
Hayden
I'm not a liar.
Joe
Joe.
Hayden
Have you ever been known to be a liar, Joe?
Joe
What? The Steelers practice.
Hayden
That's so bad. That's so bad you want to call your boy a liar Just so you don't feel guilty about you giving your team all this voodoo. All this voodoo, Joe. I didn't. I'm just, I'm just. I'm just reporting the news, Joe. I'm just. I'm just reporting the news.
Joe
I'm looking at honestly. I'm honestly blown about this because.
Hayden
You want to go change right now? No, it's too late. We're already on the show, Joe.
Joe
No, we doing it.
Hayden
We here. We here.
Joe
I'm not.
Hayden
Yeah, I mean, we here.
Joe
I'm not believing. I don't believe you.
Hayden
You. Hey, that's. I can make you a believer. All right. I ain't got to do it.
Joe
I already. I expected for me to come on here and tell you that. You told me my cast was going to get spanked and they didn't. Detroit Pistons came.
Hayden
I ain't gonna lie to you. When you went off camera now and
Joe
now came back, and now you putting me into. Now you trying to bamboozle me into that. You trying to do the double triple reverse on me.
Hayden
I'm telling you. I'm just telling you when you.
Joe
Joe, what's up, man?
Hayden
We can play it back. When you went and first started, you had on some calves. You switched, came off camera, came back, and you had on Lakers. I didn't. I didn't make that up, Joe. You did that. I mean, we can see that from. All right, you know, the people know. They know what you had on. They just don't know what you had on before.
Joe
Yeah, no. Cause you saw pre.
Hayden
What we do. What we do. We do. Okay. Hey, I bet you the Lakers happy that you ain't got on the Laker gear right now. They go actually get one and not get swept. You know what?
Joe
Look, if. If that's the case, then I'll really stop paying. I'm gonna start paying attention to what I wear. If your theory is starting to work out for sure, man.
Joshua Cribbs
Look, hey, Joe, I'm gonna come in
Joe
this joint, Oklahoma City thundered up. I'm gonna got the Shay Gilder Alexander's. I just bought them. I should come with the Shea Butters on.
Hayden
Oh, you, you. You. Oh, you go.
Joe
Go ahead.
Hayden
Listen, listen.
Joe
I'm just gonna throw it on the butters right now. The all white shade butters. They look fresh.
Hayden
Purposely do it, Joe. I don't. I don't think it's. I don't think it's going to work, though. I don't think it's going to work.
Joe
I don't want to put.
Hayden
You're conscious of it.
Joe
I don't want to put.
Hayden
Don't work.
Joe
Yeah, I don't.
Hayden
This is the thing.
Joe
I don't want to go out of my way and put any on anybody. Listen, I want to go out there and ball.
Hayden
I expect Drake ain't going to go and bet on the person that he.
Joe
He.
Hayden
He don't really want to Win. Even though when he do bet on them, they lose. I mean, he.
Joe
He ain't gonna do that.
Hayden
Just reverse.
Sponsor/Advertisement Voice
He ain't gonna do that.
Hayden
He just came.
Joe
All right, man, I think he bet on the Lakers. Just watch the game tonight. Watch Donovan Mitchell. Watch Jared Allen. Watch Max truce. Watch my boys do exactly what they do.
Hayden
Yeah, I'm gonna watch.
Joe
Make it two. Two. All right.
Hayden
All right. Look here, man. Going over here to the Steelers, man, that's. It's an article. Mark Khan raises concerns over Aaron Rogers. Meaning. Now, listen, Steelers and Aaron Rogers were reportedly set to meet this weekend to discuss the 2026 season, but those intentions may have fallen apart. And GMO Maran said this over the weekend. I don't know where specifically Aaron is. I can tell you that Aaron and I and Mike McCarthy and Aaron. And Aaron's representative, we've all had some good conversations since the end of the season, since Mike got here, and it's been positive. But, yeah, I don't know where Aaron is at the moment. We continue to have conversations, and they're positive, and we have good experience with him last year, and I think he would probably echo the same thing. And, you know, conversations continue. That right there, Joe. That don't sound like concern to me. I don't know. You tell me what that sound like to you, Joe. Do that sound like concern? I don't hear concern.
Joe
It's other people coming out and saying that Aaron Rodgers was supposed to be here this weekend. Until I hear it from the horse's mouth when he said, oh, did the Steelers say it? Did Omar say it? No, they have not. They've been constant. They've been saying exactly what they've been saying this whole time. We've been in constant contact with Aaron Rodgers. We expect him to come. I think that's what Omar and them are saying.
Hayden
Who?
Joe
Everybody that's reporting and saying that Aaron Rodgers is coming. I laugh at. I'm gonna laugh at you, because Aaron Rodgers is gonna do whatever Aaron Rodgers wants to do. I've been saying this, and every time people are gonna report on it, they're gonna keep saying, oh, a rod. He's gonna be in the air. We're tracking his pj. He's supposed to be coming in there maybe this weekend. We know something. No, you don't. Unless Aaron Rodgers. This is what I'm trying. I'm trying to figure out. Like, we're gonna keep talking about it because everybody keeps saying everybody's going to ask about it and trying to figure out what's going on. You don't know. Nobody knows. I don't know. I know Omar Khan is in. He said he's in communication with a Rod and I believe it. Last year a Rod didn't sign until June 5th. It's still OTAS is coming. He didn't got OTAS. Some of the events don't come to OTAS. It's the mandatory camp after the OTAS and then you have training camp that's coming. So June 5th is when he signed last year. All these other predates, I'm looking at people like why you keep thinking or expecting him to sign before understanding we got a new coach, all that. A Rod don't give a damn about none of that. He's grown, he's chilling, he's in contact with them, whatever. But if you're trying to depend on Aaron Rodgers schedule and contemplating when he's going to sign, I'm looking at last year's evidence he didn't sign.

That's the day I'm kind of looking at. Until before then, all these people saying, oh, I'm thinking a rod is going to come in. I don't believe it. So Omar, he's saying he's in. He doesn't know specifically where a rod is. At least he's been saying this the whole time. He never said a Rod was coming in this weekend to sign. That was somebody else that reported it. Oh, yeah. Now we're looking for flights now where everybody's at the airport waiting on a Rod. Not me, not Joe, not Debo, not.
Hayden
Not.

No, not. Not us. Because we know a Rod.

You gonna come?
Joe
When you gonna sign? What you wanna sign? You're in communication with the coaches. That's all I need. You're not. You're like someone, somebody. When they said that, I laughed. I'm like, how do you know? Did you talk to a Rod? And now all of a sudden, it's past the weekend. We're at Monday. Did a Rod show up? No, he didn't. And we. And for Me, I expected it. You expected it. And when he comes, I expect him to sign before the season starts, before training camp. If training camp starts and a Rod's not on the team now. Everybody's looking crazy. Joe, what's up?
Hayden
I'm not a person that has any ego left. I gave it up. I gave it up. I got a little bit, maybe a little bit, But I'm just going back to if this was the old me
Joe
way back in the G. Yeah.
Hayden
It's a whole bunch of attention on what I'm doing. Okay? So personally, what I think happened is somebody got set up. They got told some misinformation on purpose, for the purpose of just figuring out if, you know, they was. Go say something. I don't know. I don't. I don't. I don't know what it was, Joe. So here it goes. Joe, are you the kind of person that you trust somebody until they give you a reason not to trust them? I would believe you.
Joe
Yes.
Hayden
Yes. I'm not, Joe. I'm not naive.
Joe
So you call me naive?
Hayden
Very, very, very, very. See, I'm the youngest of 14, okay? So I got to see and hear all the bullshit that go along in the conversations that my siblings told people. Other people tried to tell the mama and daddy, all that bull. Okay? So I'm of the thought process. I don't trust you till you give me a reason to trust you.
Joe
Okay.
Hayden
Sometimes that trust or that reason naturally, you know, happens through the process of knowing somebody long enough and you finding out things that basically they said when you weren't in rooms that you wouldn't know anything about because you heard it from someone else that you already had trusted. So now to be like, hey, I want to figure out if I could trust this person. And you like attention. You will go and manufacture something. And what's the easiest way to find out if you can trust or believe somebody?
Joe
Tell them a lie, See if you get out. Tell them a lie, see if it get out.
Hayden
Hey, you tell them a lot.
Joe
Yeah. That's a fact.
Hayden
And then you find out if the lie come back to you. That's the easiest way to find out if you can trust somebody with information that you tell them. Hey, don't tell nobody, but hey, I know. Coming in. Yeah, yeah.
Joe
No, that's. Especially if they.
Hayden
In the breaking news business, Joe. Now, what I want to know is who was the source of this information and how did you get that information? Was your source directly from a person that talked directly to Aaron, or was it second, third, Fourth person. So I want to know who the direct source is. Because your information right now, whatever you said and what you. Oh, it's true. I know it's da, da, da. I'm telling you, it's da, da, da.
Joe
But you never did. No.
Hayden
Now you just got some misinformation and you just got burnt. And you probably burnt the person that told you, too.
Joe
Oh, for sure.
Hayden
So that's where I think is that and what I think has happened because, hey, man, if you like a little bit of attention, why not manufacture something? Hey, we coming in. They've been looking. They've been foaming at the mouth like a rabid dog to see where Aaron is at. What's going on. Hey, tell them. Tell them about coming in on. On a private PJ with no. With no tail number.
Joe
Yeah, what you just said, that makes complete sense. That, that, that definitely. You want to find out. You want to find out who's the rat in the house. You give out some information and see if that lives back to you. That's facts. Find out who.
Hayden
You want to find out who the rat is. Smoke them out. Give him some misinformation and see how fast they get back to you. And if it get. And matter of fact, if you want to give some good misinformation, give two. Tell them, oh, it's gonna be this or this. That way you know which source it came from.
Joe
Yeah, yeah, I'm with you on that because this is this all I'm saying. Yeah, that part and the same thing. You don't know what a rod is doing unless you literally talking to him. So it gotta be something where it's false information getting leaked. But, yeah, I'm. I'm still in the fact of a rod is still chilling. He's cooling. He's in contact with them. Omar don't sound like he. Don't sound off.
Hayden
Nothing sounds off. Why would he be concerned about where he is at? He is not signed to the team.
Joe
He's not.
Hayden
Why would I be concerned about where he's at? We are talking. We're having great conversations from what he's saying. They're communicating with him, his agent, and everybody else. So why would he be concerned about where Aaron Rodgers is when he is not signed to the team? To have to be concerned about where he is is during any type of activities that's going on. Yeah, that's. That's all I'm saying, Joe.
Joe
Hey, I'm with you.
Hayden
Somebody got smoked out, Joe, and they don't even know they got smoked.
Joe
Somebody got smoked out and had no idea that they was getting played.
Joshua Cribbs
Yeah.
Joe
Be more careful.
Hayden
Got to be more careful.
Joe
Got to be more careful going over
Hayden
here to Cleveland, man. We got a lot of things going on, man. Listen. They said Todd Monkin have tipped the Brown's hand on Taylor Green's future now. Browns kick off. The Browns kicked off day one of their rookie minicamp on Friday.
Joe
Yes, yes, yes.
Hayden
They did that, man. Six round rookie telling Green yeah, Watson or Dylan Gray got to handle the bulk of the practice snaps. Yeah, it's rookie camp with the. It is anyway.
Joe
Yes.
Hayden
When asked about Green, Monkey sounded like a man who expected Green to be familiar in the team short to be firmly Sorry. Sorry. Warmly in the team's short and long term plans. While he said it's too early to say that the team would create a special package or plays for the Green on game days, he refused to rule out short yardage, low red zone and third down scenarios if Green can progress in certain areas of his game.
Joe
Joe yo,
Hayden
do you listen what's going on with y' all Cleveland writers, man? They just ain't got nothing else to do. Like what's going on? How is he tipping his hat?
Joe
Tell me Debo. That's what I'm telling you. He's not. He's talking on the other guys. This is rookie minicamp. Who else is going to be there? We drafted him. Obviously. We talked about his what he did back in the day, how tall he is, how fast he is, the attributes that he he's a young quarterback and this is the time when he gets the reps and it's time for him to see what he can do. I'm in the fan of not we got so many quarterbacks now too. When I'm saying desean Watson, Shador Sanders, cool. Dylan Gabriel and Jalen and Taylor Green. I'm not we need to have three quarterbacks on the team. It's going to be. DeSean's going to be there because of the bag. I believe in Shador Sanders and when that third quarterback like we gonna have to had practice it was going to be Jalen, Taylor Green or Dylan Gabriel. If Dalen Green is looking really good, I'm not mad at him being able to come up one and be over Dylan Gabriel because we've seen what he can do and I don't believe he can be a quarterback in this NFL to be a starting quarterback for our team for the Browns. He showed what he could do. So now when we say three quarterbacks, okay Taylor Green, we got desean Watson, and we still have Shador. These are two young quarterbacks that we still have. Shedeur in his second year, Taylor and his first, desean is the vet that can about to be out of there. You know what I'm saying? So still watch, learn, see what's going on. Shador, how that thing works out. But we still got those two talented young quarterbacks that I think that we could still be able to see what they can do. And having talent at the quarterback is not a problem. Like, if we do have a situation where we do have desean Watson, I believe in Shador Sanders. And Taylor Green is a young prospect where he's big.
Hayden
You.
Joe
We talked about it, Debo. We was like, if the Steelers could get him, that would be a nice project to have. Tall, fast, make the throws all he needs to get, get a coach around him, get some weapons. We can see what he could do. So with my. What my what my thing is, the. The. The article makes it look like obviously the Browns aren't doing nothing crazy. It's a young quarterback. It's the rookie minicamp. This is when he gets reps, obviously. And you don't want. You don't want your coach if he's bashing him like, oh, no, he's obviously has no shot. And if you see a little bit of something into him, speak highly on your guys, like, okay, that's cool. You drafted them. You see good things. That's fine. Your vets aren't even there. So obviously. I mean, sometimes I think they just try to stir up stuff that I don't think really is anything
Hayden
for me personally. Joe. I don't think he's tipping his hat. I actually think it's smart of me. I think it's smart of him to say, you know what, there's a possibility that Taylor Green could be part of our offense. I would have said, you know what, maybe we will create a special package
Joe
that other people think about it. What? Come on.
Hayden
Situationally?
Joe
Yes.
Hayden
You know, anything's possible. We go and he said that we go see how it goes. Why I want you to think and have to worry about everything that we're going to.
Joe
Yes, thank you.
Hayden
That may get to the table. He's not tipping his hat. He's giving everybody else more things to have to worry about. Like even, like all you got. Look at this dude, man. What is he, six? Six? The boy ran like a four, four, four, three, something like that. Crazy.
Joe
Yes.
Hayden
He's big, athletic, and can throw. So if you Create a special package for him. You get him into the low red zone. You get him into areas where you cut down on him. Having to worry about the things of the mechanical issues, the inconsistency in, you know, being able process to defense. Why I make. You have to do only two reads after that? Well, yeah, after that, you use your athletic ability and you get up out of there. You're taking a quarterback that's a true wildcat quarterback that can still throw a bomb accurately down the field. Come on, dude, want to take off and go. If that's the read, allow him to use his athletic ability. If it's not there, and if it is there, launch that down the field. Y' all are out of your rabbit mind. What he's doing right now is he is possibly already, especially game one, creating more work for D coordinators.
Joe
Thousand percent.
Hayden
Especially if you get anything that looks close to that in preseason, even if you don't do it, you got to put it out there so they can see it. So they gotta worry about it.
Joe
Listen, Deebo, I love the way that you kept your mind open and just not when you have quarterback. It seems like they always want to have a mess at quarterback for us. Like we have Shador finally. We did draft him. A lot of people, some people just don't like him, Just don't want him to succeed. Deshaun Watson, you know, we got drafted at first. They didn't want to see. It's just we want to have negativity going around the quarterback position. We got two quarterbacks there that are fighting, and now we drafted another guy that could potentially, if these other guys don't work, he could be successful. So it's not a bad place to be in. But you always try to. You want to make drama when it's not.
Hayden
You got to realize, Joe, y' all been so sorry for so long that the only thing that's good that can come out of that is creating drama. And they done got stuck in. In a protocol of creating drama as writers, and they don't know what else to do but to stir up. They can't stick with, oh, this guy. They just, hey, let me stir up some. Because we might be. Because we've been so let me get something started. Yeah, Listen, Joe.
Joe
Yes.
Hayden
Say right now, y' all go out there and win. I mean, you ain't gonna beat us, but y' all go out there and win. I can fix a lot of y'
Joe
all problems, a thousand percent.
Hayden
But will it. Will. Will it fix their writing? I Don't know. They still may sit there and be like, oh, they won a game, but you know, hey, they don't.
Joe
Nah, I'm telling. Consistent win. If you did this before, it's gotta be. It's got. Our offense starts moving and we start scoring, we gotta start scoring points, we gotta start scoring points. Defense, special teams wasn't too good last year either. We just gotta be full round team, score points, special teams, our defense be what you always been. We just can't have a lack off at that. You know what I'm saying? But every season is different. People are going to be moving around, but defense continue to ball, special teams ball out, and let's get some points on the board like a real live NFL offense when we come out there and we know we can go get 21, 24, that's not too much to ask for.
Hayden
Yeah, but you know what? Now to think about it, didn't you. The linebacker that y' all had, he's out for another. Another season, right?
Joe
Yeah, but we went and got. We went and signed. We went and signed the linebacker. My man from dang. We went and just signed a linebacker just like him. What's my man name? No, we went in free agency. We got Qu. Is it Quincy. Quincy. Quincy. There we go. Quincy.
Hayden
Okay?
Joe
Quincy Williams, linebacker, Just like the linebacker that we got. And then, you know, we got the defensive rookie of the year, you know what I'm saying, at the other line.
Hayden
This is true.
Joe
He's coming.
Hayden
We got both, right? You got both?
Joe
Yes, brother.
Hayden
I mean, hey, you got all that and y' all still one.
Joe
No, that's what I'm trying to tell you. The defense is not the problem. That's why we talk about we got to get some points. Offensive line, special team.
Hayden
Well, you got. You got offensive line. Y'.
Sponsor/Advertisement Voice
All.
Hayden
Y' all do offensive line. We gonna see how well they play and play.
Joe
It's gonna. It looked good on paper. They're gonna have to go and ball out. They're gonna have.
Hayden
I ain't gonna lie. You went from having nothing to having five. That's better than. That's real.
Joe
Far better than what you had of real five.
Hayden
Because you ain't had shit. You ain't even had five bodies to even, you know, put nothing in place with.
Joe
You know, you just be throwing out disrespect. We had five bodies.

They was, they were moving around. It was, it was. They were interchangeable, but not yet. We got, we got a real five now. Let's not talk about the past going forward.
Hayden
Okay?
Joe
Going forward.
Hayden
Listen, I'm not, I'm not, you know, I'm just, I'm just speaking what it was, how it is, what it transitioned into. Where you at now? I mean, if we can't, you know, look at the past, you know, we got, we got to make sure we don't make those mistakes again, you know, so that we don't continue that, you know? You know? Yeah, I mean, I would love for y' all to do it, you know, but just, you know, I'm just saying you ain't gonna win the North. That's all I'm really saying. I'm trying to tell you after the
Joe
draft, I'm trying to tell you this. What happened. The draft was what we needed for the first time when my boy Andrew Berry, honestly, in a smart way, last year's draft was great. We did. We, we, we got some.
Hayden
When you lose, your draft should be great, Joe.
Joe
I understand that. No, no, no. Not, not. No. Just because that means you get one pick, one pick higher. But then at the end of the day, the other draft picks ended up hitting. You got to pick the right people and they have to hit the third round picks. Your first round pick could be trash, not make the team. Like, that's, that's real talk.
Hayden
That's if you were trash. If you're a trash picker, you know, you got to be a trash picker to get a guy in the first or second round that you don't resign.
Joe
When I asked you this, you said this. You said, we don't want to speak on it, but we did the. How about, all right, I'm going to go to. I'm not even going to talk bad about our guys right now. We just, it's not, it's not a bad session.
Hayden
Who are we talking bad about? What you talking about? Who is our guys. You get. I'm getting confused as hell because you do a lot of flip flopping us, them, they who the talk to you
Joe
sometimes all of your picks don't hit.
Hayden
Who is, who is.
Joe
So like we said, when I with our good old. Our guys say something we haven't.
Hayden
It's our guys, Joe.
Joe
Our receivers we haven't been able to sign our receivers.
Hayden
Who is us we talking about the Cleveland. Who does. Who is us we talking about? Steelers.
Joe
Pittsburgh. Steelers.
Hayden
Okay? Now what you saying, huh? You know what we go.
Joe
It's not even. There's not even getting into it right now, bruh.
Hayden
I'm gonna, I'm gonna go ahead, I'm gonna. I might want to hand you, bro.
Joe
No, no, don't do that.
Hayden
Being disrespectful, bro.
Joe
Oh no.
Hayden
Hey man, I'm a friends.
Joe
We got friends.
Hayden
Look here, brother.
Joe
Look, look.
Hayden
Hey, ladies and gentlemen, I gotta introduce somebody to y'. All. Today we have another undrafted free agent out of D. Kent State University. Picked up by the Cleveland Browns in 2005. He would then go on to be a three time Pro Bowler along with a first team all probably 2009. Ten years in the league, became one of the greatest kick returners in the NFL. The greatest kick returner in Cleveland Brown history ever.
Joe
1,000%.
Hayden
The man finished with over 10,000 kickoff return yards. That's top 10 in the NFL. Number one with the Browns. 13,488 combined return yards. That's number one in the Browns history. The man got eight kickoff returns for a touchdown. That's tied for the NFL all time record.
Joe
Yes, it is a.
Hayden
And the only player to return two 100 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the same game in NFL history. Name to the all decade team 2000 as a kick returner. Inducted into the Cleveland Sports hall of fame in 2023. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my old college quarterback, Joshua Cribs. Let's go. Yes, sir.
Joe
Yes, sir.
Joshua Cribbs
What's up guys? What's up baby?
Joe
What's up?
Joshua Cribbs
Can y' all hear me?
Joe
Good.
Joshua Cribbs
Now look now, Debo James, look. I'm in our old stomping ground.
Hayden
Yes sir.
Joshua Cribbs
Right behind me. That's where we used to have study tables in the lodge.
Hayden
Okay.
Joshua Cribbs
In the top of the Mac Center. So it's a lot of. I got a lot of goosebumps going on.
Joe
That's good.
Hayden
For sure, for sure. I know you just got hired over there as the assistant for. Sorry, special teams. Yep, yep, yes. Special teams. Yeah, for sure, for sure. Yeah. How you like it?
Joshua Cribbs
I love it, man. This is for me, you know. And y' all know this as ex players, man, we. It's hard for us to let the game go right? To just walk away from something we've been doing so long. And for me, coaching now is just like playing. I never thought ever I would want to Ever coach seeing the long hours they put in. And y' all know this.
Joe
Yeah, no, for sure, like, we don't
Joshua Cribbs
want to do that. We want to get out of the business as soon as possible. But once the game and the lights cut off for me, you know, after putting so much of my life into it, you know, this was the only. The most logical step for me to hold on to that edge, to that, you know, that all purpose football mentality that I still possessed.
Joe
Mm. Well, Cribs, man, I say one thing too, bro. It's so crazy because you from D.C. yes, sir. You from the crib. You ended up playing, you ended up going to the Browns, and that's how we got to play together. You know, my boy Deebo. Cause y' all was both at Kent State, so it's just crazy how it's love all over the place. You was like, I never really had a player to kind of play with both of us in two different. You just sayin'. Two different times. So I wanna. Thanks for having you on the show, bro. You are a legend, obviously from the crib. Me being from back at home. What was your first moment, bro, back from childhood, that you would think that could actually change your life?
Joshua Cribbs
With playing football, it's just Pop Warner, man. Like being able to do something at a high level. I'll tell you this. And you know this. James know it too, man. We.
Hayden
We.
Joshua Cribbs
We didn't win often with the Browns. We had one winning season that. That 10 and six year.
Joe
Yes.
Joshua Cribbs
And it was. For me, it was sort of like redundant, like, you know, losing and then coming home feeling like I'm putting it all out there on the field. 1. I remember one game, we get back in town and I'm driving, driving back home on 71. And you know, it was just a somber moment and I felt like it was becoming a drag. The sport that I had played, Pop Warner, Pee Wee football league in D.C. all the way up to through college to NFL. I'm finally here. And now in my soul, it felt like I was sad. So what I did was I rededicated myself to the game, to the sport that, you know, we love. I went out, I saw a rec ball game going on, and I kind of stood back in the stands and kind of, you know, looked at the young kids playing and grabbed a little bit of that momentum that they had. And knowing that every kid out there on the field, they want to go pro, they trying to play their heart out. And for me, it was a rededication moment. And I had to think back to when I was playing every day at recess and you know, and just the love that I had for the game way back when, when it was fun.
Hayden
Yeah.
Joshua Cribbs
Cause if y' all don't know when I do motivational speaking engagements, you know, for high schools or, you know, most importantly for the young kids, the elementary kids, I'm like, how would you like to make millions of dollars to go to recess, right? And they don't understand because every day at recess we played football. It was throwback tackle or some type of football. And now you mean to tell me they gonna pay me millions of dollars to go to recess? Yeah. That's how I had to rededicate myself and look at the sport, whether we winning or losing. Hey, I'm here, I'm here. Make the best of it.
Joe
The love of it, the love. So I want to say, bro, take me inside of your relationship with Debo at Kent State. What was that like, bro?
Joshua Cribbs
So look, look, I'm gonna have to say a lot of alleged right, because I know Debo, remember? But I want to keep his integrity, right? Cause like this, his. His name was, was Jaebo, okay? You know, the play on words like,
Hayden
I know, I know, I know where people know me from.
Joshua Cribbs
Depending on.
Hayden
Depending on what they call me, depending
Joshua Cribbs
on what I got.
Hayden
I got Jaybo, I got Debo, I got Pitbull, I got Silverback, I got a two day vet. Depending on the name they call me,
Joe
I know that's what you know.
Joshua Cribbs
And look, I was introduced to him by upperclassmen. It was like he was like, you know, had his own. Even though he had his own apartment, it was like his office. Like I couldn't just come to him by myself. It had to be a qualifier, you know, one of his teammates, an upperclassman to bring me in his presence. And he don't know that. It was like a big stipulation. I'm the young quarterback and I'm like, dang. And they like, yeah, man, that's Debo, that's Jaebo. You know, like, stay away from him, man. Just stay on his good side. Like, if you stay on his good side, you be good, bro. Let me tell you, man, we had the red jerseys on in practice.
Joe
Dang, Deebo, you gotta do better.
Joshua Cribbs
It ain't my fault. Look, it ain't my fault.
Hayden
Stop.
Joshua Cribbs
That's universal.
Hayden
Stop. I told them to tell him to stop running in 707.
Joshua Cribbs
It was running in 7.
Hayden
O7. I said, you hit him in 7 or 7? 7 on 7.
Joshua Cribbs
I'm attacking 7 on 7. I'm just trying to do the quarterback, you know, roll out. Ain't nothing there. Let me go ahead and run it out.
Joe
Yes.
Joshua Cribbs
He's not having it. Seven O. Seven, bro. I got on a red jersey. You don't hit the court. I might as well had on a yellow jersey for being hurt.
Joe
You had a red jersey.
Joshua Cribbs
Mean. Stop, bro. He was.
Joe
Stop.
Hayden
Josh is making. Listen, he making like he did all the time, bro.
Joe
Cribs is not a liar.
Hayden
He's not making this up, bro.
Joshua Cribbs
He hit me. Look, I'm going through a fake option.
Hayden
He's exaggerating. Like, it was one time.
Joshua Cribbs
One time. Look, I ran a fake option. I pitched the ball seven on seven. I let go. He. He knocked me out, bro. So I was, like, confused because I'm like. I didn't understand. Like, I'm like, we. We hitting practice like they hit the quarterback in practice. Like, I. They not worried about making me making it to the game.
Joe
Yeah. And my jersey's red.
Joshua Cribbs
Yeah. I promise you he's lying, bro.
Hayden
I told them.
Joshua Cribbs
I got up and looked at the jersey.
Hayden
Yeah, he would take off. He exaggerating, bro. He would take off in 707 when he couldn't find something instead of throwing the ball away. I said, coach. Our coach. Dp. I said, coach, if he run again, I said, y' all doing all the. Ooh in the nine. We ain't got no D line out here. I said, if you run again, I said, I'm gonna fire off on him. I said, I swear, doing seven on seven.
Joshua Cribbs
And that. That tells you right then and there that the coach should have said, hold on. Somebody come in. We need a sub.
Sponsor/Advertisement Voice
Games.
Joe
We need a sub.
Joshua Cribbs
Cause, look, as soon as he hit me the next play, I. Before I even get the next play, I'm talking to Coach Dean Pease, and I'm like, coach, you know, I kind of flagged him over. He was like, you all right, son? I'm like, we getting hit. He was like, no, no, no, no, Red. He won't hit you. He won't hit you again. That's just James, you know? That's just James. He won't hit you again. And I'm like, can he see?
Joe
Can he see?
Joshua Cribbs
Do he know? Does he know that? Cause I'm like, okay, once. It's an accident, right?
Joe
Mm.
Joshua Cribbs
So, you know, I'm not running an option. It's in practice, bro. 11. 11 in practice. We still got the red jerseys on, bro. Same. Same style. I come down the line. I pitch it. He knocked me out, bro. Again, like the win. And you know what it feel like to get your wind knocked out and you stay down?
Joe
Yes.
Joshua Cribbs
I flash forwarded to that moment when I was playing with the Browns. And I know. We'll talk about that later, Steve. No, but it just hurt.
Joe
Like, it was like, right into it. Crips, we going right, right into that one.
Joshua Cribbs
And so look, he has been known, right, to just not follow rules, as
Joe
we all know, 1,000%.
Joshua Cribbs
Like, it's just his MO.
Hayden
What the.
Joshua Cribbs
Yeah, it just don't apply to him.
Joe
No, that's what it was.
Joshua Cribbs
It never did. No, it never did.
Hayden
Honestly, what was the rules when I hit you, Cripps?
Joshua Cribbs
The rules helmet was. It was thump. That's what the speed of the game. It was thumped.
Hayden
I thumped you. You just went down, bro.
Joe
You.
Joshua Cribbs
I was half your size. Like, it ain't my fault. A thump on a quarterback. You put your life. You put your helmet and shoulder pad in me like you was. Like you was trying to take me. Like I was a playing for you, bro.
Hayden
That's a thump.
Joshua Cribbs
Nope, not on the quarterback.
Joe
Look, not on the quarterback.
Joshua Cribbs
The way he was hitting me in practice. They would suspend him in the NFL for hitting a QB like that.
Hayden
Oh, my God.
Joshua Cribbs
Suspension.
Hayden
Oh, my God.
Joe
They would review.
Hayden
Why brought this dude?
Joe
I promise you. You know why. We brought truth tellers on the show.
