Joe Haden
Look here man. Calvin Johnson doesn't expect his single season NFL record for receiving yards to last much longer. Dude, and he had to. And if he had to guess, he said Puka Nua will be the one to break it. Megatron said he still got Matthew Stafford so I think he's got a shot if he stays healthy. That dude's a killer out there. So Megatron set the single season record mark in 2012 breaking Jerry Rice's record of 190. Oh sorry, 1964 yards in 16 games. I guess Puka had 17, 15 and 16 games last season. Now Joseph, Yes? Do you see, do you see Megatron's record falling?
Deebo Samuel
Yes, I see it falling. And the only reason why I say it's possible because if Puka stays healthy and Matthew Stafford, Matthew Stafford is the person that throws the ball to these receivers to break the records. You know what I'm saying? If Matthew Stafford is a quarterback, he gave Megatron the single season record in 2012. He's the one that got it to him. And then after that he gave it to Cooper Cup. He gave Cooper cup the single season record. And then after that Puka Nakua on pace same like skill set. And I think he knows if you have a player like that that you can continue to get the ball to Devonta Adams on the other side. The offense is doing amazing. He said Calvin Johnson said the most perfect thing. It's healthy. If he can stay healthy and it's a 17 game season. I think that extra game also with Puka Nakua just being able to be so dominant and Matthew Stafford being able to just get the ball, he knows matchup. If you leave him in a matchup with a single coverage, he likes his guy and he's going to give him chances to get those opportunities and Puts it right on the money nine times out of 10. So I think with you having Matthew Stafford and having weapons around him to where you can't just double team Puka Nakua all the time. You can run the ball, they have Devontae Adams, they have other weapons to where they can disperse it around to where now, next thing you know, when you do get in that situation, when he ends one on one, you're going to get bombed up and they're going to take advantage of it. So I think with Matthew Stafford being the quarterback and Puka being his receiver, coming into his own health is the main thing. But with the numbers wise, he did it before, he's done it with Magatron, he's done it with Cooper cup. And now I think with that level of receiver, it's Puka Nakua.
Joe Haden
Yeah, I obviously see it happening. You got more games. Instead of 16 games, you got 17 games. And when you go and you, you know, you really just think about it like everything, like, like you said, it has to line up and for this to happen. With Calvin, it was 2012. Like Jerry Rice held onto that record. He's. Well, he made the record in 95 and he held onto it until 2012 when it got passed where everything lined up. You're talking, what is it, almost 20, almost 20 years, 17 years, something like that, that he held onto that record, you know what I'm saying, Until everything lined up perfectly. He stayed healthy. Stafford was doing his thing, so. And now you got more games. It's more of a passing league like Jerry Rice. Like that, man, when they was already passing the ball like they do now in San Fran when, you know, he was playing back then, so they were slaying that thing. So when it comes down to it, yeah, I believe it's going to be broken. And it. I don't think it has to be cool. That's going to break it again. You're talking something that lasted 17 years. So I mean, it could last 20, 25 years, whatever it is. But at some point in time, I believe that, that that record is going to be broken. It'll be 17 games right now. And then you got to think about it. It's about to be 18 games, bro. They about to knock off another. I'm telling you, as soon as that 30, if they do this deal before that 20, 30 CBA is up, it's going to be 18 games. Even after that, it's going to be 18 Games, bro. The 17 games will be 18 games. They're going to knock off two. They're gonna knock off one of the preseason games. There's only gonna be two preseason games. That's how they gonna, you know, work it through, obviously. And the NFLPA is gonna fall for the. Because that's what they do. Their leadership is trash. They have nobody that got any type of backbone. Everybody looking out for themselves. They ain't looking out for these players. Point bank players like. So when it comes down to it, you think it's anybody else that could break it?
Deebo Samuel
Besides, I think jsn, I think Jamar Chase, okay. I think it takes, it takes two. You got to have a quarterback and you got to have a dog receiver, you know what I'm saying? And like, you got to stay, got to stay healthy.
Joe Haden
Everything got to line up.
Deebo Samuel
So I'm thinking with JSN, he's a dog and he was his 6, 17, 1800 yards last year. You just seeing people out there that can do it. And with Jamar Chase is one of my guys and I think if Justin Jefferson was able to really get. He's going for 15 consistent quarterback. I think if you just get Patrick Mahomes, one of these dudes, you get with, with another a like Matabe Kill was there. I think there was chances that he could have had that. But I think just staying healthy, having a bomb receiver and you got in an A1. I mean bomb A1 quarterback and A1 receiver.
Joe Haden
Yeah, you gotta have it. They gotta have. Did this turn off. Let me see. Nope, we're good. You gotta have a connection. You gotta, you gotta have a. Everything has to line up. And that's the same thing. Like Super Bowls, like guys that get to a Super bowl young and early, like, yeah, we gonna be back. Like, no, not necessarily, dude. You don't realize how, how much things gotta line up.
Deebo Samuel
And then at the same time it's like, what is. You gotta be. If you really eating at two bands, it's like, I, I hope we got to make sure there's one ball. How many yards is your quarterback throwing for? That got to be like 5000. 5000 yard throwing quarterback. Unless you getting 50% of the passes. Because 4000 yards is a good season. That means you have half of all of the receiving yards for your squad.
Joe Haden
If you get one that's throwing for five, you know what I'm saying?
Deebo Samuel
You get one for throwing for five, you straight. You got to be averaging. Your team gotta be averaging around 350 yards passing. So you need your, like when you going at two bands, you need your buck 20.
Joe Haden
Buck 20.
Deebo Samuel
Two bands at 17 games. Yeah, you.
Joe Haden
You know what I'm saying? Some games you gotta come out there and go crazy and hit em with. Hit em with 200, 225.
Deebo Samuel
You need.
Joe Haden
You just need one.
Deebo Samuel
You need about 115. That's not crazy. 115 a game. So you go for 200. Cause like Josh Gordon was on pace, my man went for 200. Back to back games. You gotta do something where you just spaz. You got a month where you got to spaz out a couple games, you got to go for, man, two, a 250 piece and then a 200.
Joe Haden
That's what I'm saying.
Deebo Samuel
You take it from the one like a 99 yard bomb. And then for that rest of the game, you still spazzing on them. You still give them another buck 50. After the, after 100 yards, you gotta
Joe Haden
have one of them Randy Moss games. Three catches, 175 yards.
Deebo Samuel
Three. 167 for sure. And that's in the first half. Do you need to play the second half?
Joe Haden
Hey, so right now, of all the NFL records that we have, which one you think is the most untouchable record in the NFL right now? You don't think it will ever be broken?
Deebo Samuel
Interceptions?
Joe Haden
Who got the. Who got the. Who got the record for this, man?
Deebo Samuel
That joint is at like 86 or something like that. And there's. There's no way. What record you think who got that? Hold on, I'm about to get it right now.
Joe Haden
You got to tell me who got that 80 something. That had to be when they wouldn't. They ain't know how to throw the ball or something, man. Unless he played a long time.
Deebo Samuel
Well, for me, who you got?
Joe Haden
Jerry Rice.
Deebo Samuel
Receiving.
Joe Haden
Receiving yards. They ain't gonna touch that, bro. Ain't nobody gonna touch that.
Deebo Samuel
Who's the set? Who's in second place?
Joe Haden
Almost 23,000. You talking about almost 23,000 yards receiving. And the thing. You're not gonna touch anything Jerry Rice has did as far as longevity. Like you're not going to touch it, dude. Like when you, when you. Let me see, hold on. 197 receiving touchdowns, bro. You're not touching that. He got 1549 receiving yards, career reception. Sorry, you're not touching that. That's 20 years that man played 20 years, bruh. You know, so. Bruh, I'll tell you, right? I'm tell you something. I'm gonna tell you something. I'm tell you something. Somebody bet me. Okay, all right. That it was a Player that was going to break Jerry Rice's record. Bet me a hundred K. Oh my. I said you are out of your rabbit ass mind. Bet good. Bet good.
Deebo Samuel
Is it a certain player? Oh, okay.
Ryan Seacrest
Bet good.
Joe Haden
Yeah. I said it is not happening.
Deebo Samuel
So who is number two in career receiving yards? How much is he in? How much is he in first place
Joe Haden
career receiving yards? Dude, the next closest one I want to say is, is, is, is damn near 5 or 7,000 away. It might be Fitzgerald.
Deebo Samuel
I think that's, that's the thing Debo.
Joe Haden
This Gerald is the closest one.
Deebo Samuel
Terrell Owens then is after that 15 was basically 16,000.
Joe Haden
So he's still 5,000 away. What did he play? He played 17, 20 years. Right? What do Fitzgerald play?
Deebo Samuel
Fitzgerald played from 04 to 2020. So he played 16.
Joe Haden
Okay, 16 years. 20 years. Who touching 20 years, bro?
Deebo Samuel
You're correct. I mean Jerry Rice's. The thing is people can start off and have seven, six years, five years, six year spans, four four year spans, obviously. But when you get to around six years, seven year spans of greatness, you'd
Joe Haden
have to have 10, 2,000 yards and you still ain't.
Deebo Samuel
You gotta have two of those 10
Joe Haden
of them 10 2,000 yard seasons and you still ain't beaten.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah, it's the longevity at receiver. So like dudes at the same. They can come out like my man. Like Justin Jefferson was on pace. He's probably one of the people I feel like if any way, if he could stay and play for Justin Jefferson probably going to what year? 9. If he could do this for another 11 years, you know what I'm saying? That's the type of. You have to.
Joe Haden
What number is he at right now? Right now? I'm guaranteeing you it ain't on pace. It's too hard.
Deebo Samuel
Justin Jefferson eight, eight, eight thousand. Oh look, 8,400. And he's only been in. He's going in. He's played six years. Okay. You know what I'm saying? Because the active you got Justin Jefferson 1218.

Stop being an A hole to your B hole and start using Dude Wipes. Available on Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dude Wipes best clean pants down.
Joe Haden
Even if he play, if he played 18 years and stayed on that pace, which is horrible, it's going to be impossible.
Deebo Samuel
But that's what I'm saying, that's what it takes.
Joe Haden
You gotta get a quarterback.
Deebo Samuel
Justin Jefferson doing it without a quarterback. Justin Jefferson is one of the people that have been able to put up the numbers since he came into the league consistently. Like when you say these seven year spans, but you got to. That's what I'm saying. If you continue.
Joe Haden
But how close has he ever been to even a single season breaking the record? Like you gotta, you gotta get up there, bro.
Deebo Samuel
No, I think Justin Jefferson is one of the only right now. I mean one of the only players in the league. Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase are the two dudes that are on the trajectory I feel like. But they, but when we saying this depot it's saying if you do 20,
Joe Haden
if you do 20 years, you would have to average at least 12 or 1300 yards a year
Deebo Samuel
for to beat, to beat Jerry. All right, hold up. All right, I understand. I'm just trying to give you. Look, the only people I'm saying that's even comparable close that have a chance right now is Jamar Chase and Justin Jefferson.
Joe Haden
But like ain't nobody who playing 20 years we got right now, especially now.
Deebo Samuel
You, I, I, I hear what you're saying.
Joe Haden
They trying to get rid of you at 30 now.
Deebo Samuel
I hear what you're saying, but I was the same. Yep.
Joe Haden
Like it's just that it's 197 receivers
Deebo Samuel
because the thing with Jerry Rice is that you keep on saying. And then I say with LeBron it's the level. It's not, it's not you. Everybody can be great for a season. Not, not everybody, but a lot of players you can be great for a season, you can be good. But then injuries happen. It's 100% chance of injury. So when you have players like Jerry Rice, when you have players like LeBron James that put these numbers out there so far because Greatness is going to be. It's cool, it's good. Everybody making it to the league is amazing players. You can be great to make three Pro Bowls, you can be amazing. Like hall of Fame, you start making seven of them. But when you start making 15 Pro Bowls, 15 all pros, that level of greatness, you're modeling for that long. And then 20 years of doing the same exact thing of, oh, no, he's the best player in the league for 20 years. Like, that's what make these dudes all time greats. So when I'm saying Justin Jefferson, he's at the beginning of seven years in the league, seven years, Pro bowl in a row, averaging around 1200 yards in a row. So if you can keep this for 16, 14 to 13 more years, then you're in the conversation of Jerry Rice. If you were to retire after two more years, people are going to remember your name. Like, you got. You're on pace for being able to do it for like four more years. Hall of Fame, but we're talking about being the best to ever do it and setting these numbers where Jerry Rice was doing it for 20 years, a thousand wasn't nothing. He's going 1500 for 10 years in a row. Then you got another, like, just consistency. He's 40, still out there with the Raiders, going up top on people. So, like, when you're starting to look like, oh no, maybe he's going to year 16, is he going to do it another 1200? Year 17, is he still going to do it another 1200? So like, you don't know because. And neither one of us do, because you never see it until you see that person that can do it. Because you see it at the beginning from a lot of people, like, oh man, Calvin Johnson's on the projectory to break Jerry Rice's record and retires after nine seasons. And everybody's like this, oh, man, you had so much more. But it's like the wear and tear on your body. You gotta want to be able to play that long. Like everything has to work out right. You know what I'm saying? So we're saying the same thing, but we got to see, can that happen? Can you still be healthy? Can you still ball that long and stay healthy?
Joe Haden
Yeah. Now the other record that I don't think will go anywhere but somebody currently has a chance to get to it. If he don't get it, I don't think nobody else gets it. And that's Emmett Smith's rushing career yards. Derrick Henry right now at 13,008. Okay, finish at 18, 3. 55. Now Derek can go on a couple runs.
Deebo Samuel
Oh, man. Oh, yes.
Joe Haden
He can get that before he got out of there.
Deebo Samuel
We just trying to figure out.
Joe Haden
I'm just saying. But if he did it, you know, against everybody else, the other 16 games, you know, other 15 games, whatever it is, then he. He definitely got a shot at getting to Emmett Smith's 18, 355, because he's only. He's only five, 5,300 away.
Rob Gronkowski
That's what.
Joe Haden
So whatever time he got left, he just need to get 5,300. You know, he'd be hitting him for about 16, 17. He get a couple of them back to backs.
Deebo Samuel
That man Derrick Henry plays four more years and averages 1200 yards. He's right at it.
Julian Edelman
Right?
Deebo Samuel
So that's not a crazy thing to say, but like you said, too. It's just.
Joe Haden
But here's the crazy thing, though. If Barry Sanders didn't walk away, Emmy Smith wouldn't have.
Deebo Samuel
We talking about Barry and we talking about Calvin, and they looking at both of these records. If Calvin played for 20, if Calvin played for 23 years. I mean, now we looking at something crazy. If Barry Sanders played for the same amount of time as Emmett, you looking at something, you're looking at way different numbers. So, like, that's where. When the record books get up, that's where that greatness is, because they've been doing it for so long. Like, nine years is different than 16. It's different than 15. When you level that model of consistency and greatness for so long. I'm like, that's why I give Bron so much love.
Joe Haden
He can have a lot, but I still listen. It's cool. I still. You want me to give him longevity? I'll give it to him the best. He got two. He never took.
Deebo Samuel
No, no, no, no. For sure, for sure. I appreciate it, you being you. Me and you have no arguments about LeBron James. I would just say. I just.
Joe Haden
That's hometown and I ain't even tripping. Akron, Ohio, west side, Summer county, you know, AK Rowdy. Rowdy all day. That's gravy, baby. We got free agent wide receiver Stefan Diggs. He opens up about the possibility of going home and playing for the Commanders. He said it's a lot of hopes. We're kind of figuring it out and working through some things. I did a small piece of. I did have a small piece of me, like, down. It would be great to come home and play in front of the fans.
Tab Ramos
Joe,
Joe Haden
what do you think that would look like if him and old Daniels hooked up?
Deebo Samuel
You know, I mean, I think it'd be good. Daniels needs as many weapons as we could, as he could possibly have. And I think Stephon Diggs still got some game in him, for sure. He's from the crib, from the area. You know what I'm saying? So I think it'd be good for him. I think he's still got a lot of. Like I said, a lot of ball, so I think it'd be dope.
Joe Haden
Yeah.
Deebo Samuel
What you think?
Joe Haden
You know, I don't know, man. I just don't know if Jalen can stay healthy, man. He just needs. He need to get some weight on him. He got the same problem Wimby got, except Wimby actually could stay healthy. He just. His is a little different. Like, they get the bang and hit you. Like, we got to put on some weight, put on some muscle. Like. Like, it ain't.
Deebo Samuel
What is it?
Joe Haden
How much he weigh? What was it, like, 170, 160 or something like that?
Deebo Samuel
Like, oh, Jay Daniels, he did look a little skinny when he came, but,
Joe Haden
bro, what are you talking about, man? Turned sideways, you can't even see it.
Deebo Samuel
Look like. He did look a little bit.
Joe Haden
They look a little like he was. He drew. He's. He's super light, dude. Like, every time you see him get hit, I'm like, I don't know if he's getting up. Like. Like, he needs to. Like, I don't know, man.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah, that definitely.
Joe Haden
They're saying. They saying. They saying, 6, 4, 2, 10. I don't know about that. I don't know.
Deebo Samuel
But you. They. They don't. You know how them weights go? It's what we got at the combine is what you're going to get. And then from there, they will never change it. They get to ask you.
Joe Haden
There's never.
Deebo Samuel
Hey, no skills, no time to get in the league. Having to, like, literally report to the thing. No, after that, it's one is my bad debo or pro. Pro day, whatever you had to go to. They gonna get your measurements legitimately one time. And then after that, it's just. It goes. It goes. I mean, it stayed like it said I was 194. I was 194 at the combine. And that's where they. Everybody went from. The whole rest of the time I was in the league, I was walking around 182 because I was getting a little older, trying to get lighter, and it still said 195. So that thing is not updating. So we're not jumping on the scale. You're gonna get one time and you go, yeah. How much does he weigh? Like, he don't. He's not walking around at that Google. At that Google weight right now.
Joe Haden
No, no, Joe, they had me at, well, my way. I didn't get a pro day and none of that stuff. My actual weight, I came in at my pro. At my pro. When I. When the Steelers weighed me and they had me, they had me at 242. And that was actually heavier than I had been until my first couple years of college when I was horribly, horribly out of shape. But it was 242 from that point on. By next year, I never played lower than 250, 255 up to 275, 286.
Deebo Samuel
And did it stay at 242 on the thing?
Joe Haden
Stayed.
Deebo Samuel
Didn't move. So that's why I'm always looking around making sure. Thank you. I knew I wasn't tripping. So I'm like it always, for me, I always said 194. And they're like this. When you say you're 194, I'm like, I'm 180 pounds. Okay?
Joe Haden
Like, you look at me, they trying to prepare for 240, bro. I got 286 coming at their ass.
Deebo Samuel
No, Debo, you got two seven. You got a whole number. Surprise. 30 form, bro.
Joe Haden
I came into camp on purpose at 270 at least every year. And then I worked up to make sure I had. I could be strong as possible. And then from there, once we got into the season, as we started to work towards the season, I dropped down and I'd get into like, the two, like 255, 260, something like that, you know what I'm saying? And the longer the season got though, you know what I'm saying? Like, for me, I had to do what I had to do to try and keep from gaining it. You tried to do what you tried to do to try and gain it and hold on to it. So, like the super dude, the run back in Tampa, bro, I was. I was. I was, too. I was 280. I was 282 or 286. And Woolly was like 305.
Deebo Samuel
Do you know what Wood's number was?
Joe Haden
Wood was like 305.
Deebo Samuel
No, but I'm saying. Well, his, like, paper, like, what his. If you were to Google.
Joe Haden
Oh, like, maybe two by, like, maybe 270, 265, something like that.
Deebo Samuel
I'm thinking we getting that myth out of there right now.
Joe Haden
You know what Troy was. You know what Troy was pretty much, man. TP was sitting there about 225.
Deebo Samuel
What did it say, bro?
Joe Haden
I didn't see. I didn't see TP playing as heavy as 240.
Deebo Samuel
That's what it doesn't. Once you get to that one number
Joe Haden
in there, all that coming downhill. He coming downhill at what they think I'm at.
Deebo Samuel
No, no.
Joe Haden
He about see.
Deebo Samuel
No, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. So the teams, the, the schedule, the weights and you make. They. They know like when they make sure. Like when you do. Did you have to. Did you have to set like a set weight with the trainer? So you just knew like when we
Joe Haden
had to do weigh ins, I didn't have. We didn't. We didn't have weighing. So they, they just went on how you. We didn't have weigh ins. Like, we weighed in, but we didn't. I didn't have, like, I didn't have a weight problem, so I didn't a thousand percent made to maintain certain weight too. Like, even when like, like when BC was there, it was like, yo, are you playing well? Like, how are you moving all that other stuff? Like, dude, I ain't gonna lie, man. Like, it's sometimes where you use some cats, man. They, they scale weight, man. Bruh, depending on how they work, they program, they either come in out of shape and work it down. You can't do that no more now because you don't get enough. You don't get enough reps. But man, you had cuz come in and work down 20, you know, 30 in, in, in. In training camp, you know, that's when you had the real two of days. You pad it up both times. You know you're doing all. Yeah, then go ahead and work it down. You know they grinding. Yeah, you could work it down.
Deebo Samuel
Like, not no more
Joe Haden
already.
Deebo Samuel
Be where you need to be because I know you was probably the same. That's if you don't have a weight problem, they kind of more. How you feeling? You know what I'm saying? What do you want to. What do you want to play at, Jody? And that was like, yeah, right Now I'm like 185 is good. So then when you do your weights, I'm like, yeah, I'm right around what I need to be. I'm feeling good. Okay. Solid. I know that's probably how you had Your situation. But then other players. So when I went, no, you need to be down to this number or you're going to be fined. You know what I'm saying? Per pound. So this situation was. Now, you playing good or certain? You like? No, I like this. No, I don't care. You need to get down a little bit.
Joe Haden
Hey, Joe. So when I went to New England, they actually did the weight thing.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah.
Joe Haden
And you know, they were like, you know what? You know, we'll wait. You play it. I see they got you late, you know, listed at 242. I'm like, he's like, yeah, we know that ain't him. Like, yeah. I'm like, cool. I said, whatever I am right now is. Is gonna be the weight that, you know.
Deebo Samuel
Yeah.
Joe Haden
Play at. So I stepped on the scale. It, I don't know, like, 260 something or whatever it was that I died. It was like, all right, cool. Yeah, so we'll give you. I think they was like, we'll give you £5 up, whatever. So, I mean, I never really got over that because as you said, once
Deebo Samuel
you get over, you gotta go start
Joe Haden
going down so you can move around. Yeah, yeah. Is it. He's going to play for what? He wants to play for his home team. Like, would you prefer to play for your home team or would you.
Deebo Samuel
I think it matters at the time of my career. I think when I first, you know, because when you first get drafted, I think I would need it to go away kind of. It's a lot going on. It's a whole lot of just a process. So I think originally, first to go, just get away, to be able to kind of get your own stuff established, get your own foot down, learn the city, you know what I'm saying? I think the old experience of being able to get drafted, go to a new city, being able to grow up, being able to kind of become your own person is a whole situation. So I think that's good. I think once you start.

Julian Edelman
Harmony this is Julian Edelman from Games With Names. As a fellow dude, do you ever get that not so fresh feeling in your butt? That's because you're probably using the dry stuff to wipe wet. Extra large flushable dude wipes get what toilet paper leaves behind in your behind. You wouldn't clean the tail end of your truck with dry paper towels, so why would you wipe with dry toilet paper? Wetter just cleans better. With dude Wipes there are no more dingleberries, no more itch and irritation, just a deep down the Seam confident, clean. Plus, unlike dude baby wipes, dude wipes are extra big for adult hands. You're not a baby, so keep them on hand so you get nothing on your hands. And speaking of on hand, dude wipes come in different scents and pack sizes, including a single use on the go pack that you can take anywhere. For that home field advantage, stop being an A hole to your B hole. Drop the toilet paper. Available on Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dude wipes best clean pants down.
Deebo Samuel
Get older, you get family, you get kids, you get matured. Once you're in towards the later end of your career and ready to finish it off, I think it's a perfect time to be able to come home because it's a change, you're a grown man, you're ready to do a little bit more and just being able to hold down like everything, the situations around being home, I think that's kind of what the thing was. So for me, I think towards the end of my career, I would have loved to come back to the crib and be able to run the family, but when I first get drafted, have my own spot out there, family comes visit as much as they want, come to all the games. But I think just being able to kind of establish your own identity, being able to and at the same time it's work, you're not going to go play and go like, it's not like you're just hanging out. I'm really trying to go there, really establish myself, really get my work on, really get my grinder. Because when you first get there, it's a thousand things. You gotta get your place, you gotta get your stuff going on and just get your feet right. But it's all in becoming an adult. So I think that's all in just the growing and being able to just start doing that on your own and being able to become an adult. And then once you're established and ready to go and being able to have your career going over to go home, being able to do that is a whole lot easier. And you're able to control what you can control. You can control the main thing. I think knowing the main thing is you are a professional athlete. Your job is to now perform, you have to. All that college, everything is now it's a business. Now you are trying to make this team every single year. And the quicker that you understand that it's a job and not a fun game, it's not a party for everybody, the sooner that you'll be able to be good and get that just that schedule and just that consistency of, you know what I'm saying, Not just being so spontaneous, not just being so. Oh, yeah, I can do this, I can do that. Football season is a very. Like, it's not that long, but it's time for us to get the job done. All of this work that we doing towards the off season, it's really like, there's an off season and there's an end season, and the in season is very structured. There's things that we do because that's going to get my body right. You start to just know how you perform the best. So I think when you having that, it's just. You need that time.
Joe Haden
Yeah, I don't. I don't know. I guess. Would I prefer to play. I don't think I would prefer to play it. Well, I could play.
Rob Gronkowski
I could.
Deebo Samuel
I could. I could. For sure.
Joe Haden
I don't. I don't. I. I think to be able to play in your. I could. Yeah, I could definitely play in my own home city. But to be able to be able to do that, you have to be a person that can separate and be very forceful in what it is that. That you're going to do. You got to be able to say, no, you got to be able to say, I got to do this, I got to do that. And everything has to be prioritized around what you need to do, like you said, to make sure you can go out here and perform at the highest level. And that doesn't mean just the end season. That means out of season, too. Like, you have to be able to go train, you have to be able to do all this other stuff. So you can't be sitting there doing all the hometown stuff where you, you know, you're going here, you're going there, you're hanging out with fellas, doing all that. No, all that could wait. I got a short period of time to make a whole lot of money, and I'm trying to do it as long as I can. So the. The. The benefits of having a social life and everything else that go along with being able to do that because you got more money. No, that's gonna have to wait. I can make all this money, and then we can go chill later and figure that out now. But I'm not gonna go and take away from training that I could be doing here. Improvements that I could be doing here, because we want to have a barbecue or a grill out. No, I gotta. I got.
Deebo Samuel
I got to do this time. Deebo, when you're actually like when you put in this time when. When you're getting drafted and you're first, like say you getting drafted to your hometown, you going home to all the grandparents, all the family and you. And you don't know how to say no. And you want to make sure everybody's good and you just. That whole time is a. Is a difficult time when people first get to the league. So I think being able to kind of get away a little bit, establish your own self knowing you do have to be a little selfish because it's not all about. You have to be very selfish because it's not a little about. It's not all about. It's not all about the stuff that the game brings you. Because now we're here, now we can like you. Everybody else, like when they would come to. Like when people come to the games, it is a party when they come to the games. I can't talk before the game because now this is my. This is what all this stuff is for. You know what I'm saying? I worked my tail off to get it to this point. So it's game day, is very not. Not stressful, but it's really. It's not funny. It's nothing to be talking. What we joking about? Like, I'm locked in until after the game, when the game is over. Oh, we're. All the jokes, all the Kiki. I have two studies. I have to make sure the last little tidbits on this third and two, I'm making sure I know, okay, the slant is coming. If we lined up like this, like we're doing the last previous checks. Because all that OTAs, all that, all that minicamp, all that training camp, all these practices, all these meetings that we're sitting in there going over it. It's for the show. All this other stuff doesn't mean nothing unless I don't perform it on this Sunday at the show. So, like, the quicker that we realize, like, it's fun, we're in the NFL, but like, oh, my goodness, it's real out here. Take it very seriously. It's not a game you will get cut. You know what I'm saying? This is why all this is happening. The more you can make that about, like. And how long can you play? It's not forever. So when you playing football as a kid. Oh, no, it's all good. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's not all good. We gotta be locked in because we will get cut.
Joe Haden
No question. The average NFL career, three and a half years, right? Joe, Come on, man. What are we talking about? What we talking about this shit in the game. This shit is not forever and it's not long. Like. And that average is with guys like you doing what, 12? Got guys like you doing 12. You got cats like me.
Deebo Samuel
Come on, man.
Joe Haden
You got other cats like Jerry doing Twinkie. You know what I'm saying? Those are outliers to the guy that didn't even make a year. Three, didn't even make a year. Two, he went practice squad and didn't. And came back the next year, got released, and you can't. You only go practice squad for a year. Year and four games, I think it is after that. That's it. You got to make regular roster.
Deebo Samuel
Gotta stop performers.
Joe Haden
Start performing, Joe. Start performing. Hit the super chat.
Deebo Samuel
Sir.
Joe Haden
Covenant Live. $10 she said. Joe, as a DB, what worries you the most in week one? A mobile quarterback or a team that don't have a lot of fresh film on opening day? Steelers vs. Falcons, Browns vs. Jaguars, who's winning their first game?
Deebo Samuel
So a team with a mobile quarterback or a team that'll have more if the team got the mobile. Mobile quarterback. I'm not worried about them as much as a db. If they can. If. If they. If they can throw and run it as just as good. You know what I'm saying? I mean, that. That's just tough for our overall defense in general. But if I don't have a lot of film on the team, I kind of like that, that sometimes that's not bad. I just want to go. We go. We're going to play base. We're going to not just try to jump stuff and try to anticipate what's going on. You're going to play good on good. You're have to come out here and beat me. Like we can get comfortable. We get into the flow of the game to now, okay, you kind of get, okay, this is what they doing. You kind of get a little feel. But the mobile quarterback is kind of more tough than if you don't have no film. If I don't have no film, I'm going fresh on you. And then open the day, Steelers, obviously. Steelers. Browns versus Jags. Okay. Yeah, obviously Browns.
Joe Haden
You said Jazz.
Deebo Samuel
No, I said. I said Browns. I said Browns.
Joe Haden
No, I'm saying y'.
Ryan Seacrest
All. Y'.
Joe Haden
All. Y' all play the Jags. You know that, right? Jacksonville. You know who over there?
Deebo Samuel
Oh,
Joe Haden
they got a quarterback.
Deebo Samuel
Debo. Stop asking. Come on, man. We got. We got the super chats. You just. I answered the questions
Joe Haden
my Bad.
Ryan Seacrest
My bad.
Joe Haden
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry about that. Covenant life. Back again. Covenant life, she said. Devo, if you're in the locker room before the Falcons game, what message are you giving the defense about punching Atlanta in the mouth early? Full throttle, Debo. Because I need them to win. I'm being bullied by fans.
Deebo Samuel
Game one, Debo. Game one.
Joe Haden
Game one is. I mean, that's defense.
Deebo Samuel
What you gonna tell them? What you gonna tell him?
Joe Haden
Oh, you just go out there and you play still the ball.
Deebo Samuel
You re.
Joe Haden
Establish what it is.
Deebo Samuel
Like, Evo, what's up? They're like, debo, go break us down, Debo.
Joe Haden
Oh, no, no, no. Like I said, okay? I don't. I don't. I don't go into that. You just can't. You just can't go to see me already. I'm locked. I'm. I'm locked in. That's it.
Deebo Samuel
Alignment assignment technique. Don't get pushed.
Joe Haden
Don't get assignments. Not get your ass pushing back job and help your partner later. It's simple, bro. Go out here and show them exactly what Pittsburgh Steeler defense, football look like, okay? Make sure they feel every bit of it, okay? Win, lose, a draw, man. I just need y' all to know that you coming up out of this lumped up. You gonna take up.
Deebo Samuel
Listen, you're gonna take a few. You ain't. You ain't.
Joe Haden
Listen, you ain't coming over here with none of that. Like, you ain't.
Deebo Samuel
Okay, okay, Okay.
Joe Haden
Foxy mama. 4, 2, 4, 3, 2, 1. $5, she said, Debo, what happened to you and Ocho fighting? Still waiting on the workout for the females. With a workout for the females, it ain't gonna be on. It ain't gonna come for a minute now. We gotta get that whole thing set up. Let the whole thing set up.
Deebo Samuel
You're gonna do it right. You're gonna do it right now. That's why you're gonna do it right.
Joe Haden
Gotta do it right.
Deebo Samuel
You just can't throw it together, slang
Joe Haden
it out there like that. You know what I'm saying? You gotta do it right, you know, but the fight with Ocho, I don't know. I don't know what happened. You know, I. I just. My mama told me I couldn't beat him up. Mama told me. She said, don't do nothing to that. To that little. To that little man. She said, you gonna hurt him. And, you know, I just. I don't know, man. He only a couple pound more than Jayden. Daniels, you know what I'm saying? I don't wanna do nothing to hurt the man, you know what I'm saying?
Deebo Samuel
Families, you just chose not to resort
Joe Haden
the violence, you know what I'm saying? Like, man got kids and all that, man, you know? But I'm just, I'm just, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying to take the other road. I'm saying, I appreciate it, but if, but if you keep asking for it,
Deebo Samuel
if you, if he don't really want.
Joe Haden
I don't want to do it. I don't want to do it. Don't force me.
Deebo Samuel
He'd be perfect because he, like, if
Joe Haden
you force me to do it, then I, I, I'm a forgiving man. I'm a merciful man. A merciful man. You know what I'm saying? They call me, they call me Bumpy Johnson. They see you a merciful man, you know what I'm saying?
Deebo Samuel
I don't know.
Joe Haden
Help Santi. We have $5. Said, Joe. Joe, a cool jersey fits you better. The one on the wall behind see, that's where.
Deebo Samuel
That's a Pro bowl jersey. When I was with the. That's a Browns Pro bowl jersey. That's a Pro bowl jersey. That jersey is fire. This jersey's fire, too.
Tab Ramos
Joe. What's.
Joe Haden
What's, what's, what's. What's on the Pro Bowl?
Deebo Samuel
It's on the sleeve, man. It's a little brown on this. It's a little. It's a brown, but it's a Pro bowl jersey. The main whole jersey is a Pro bowl jersey. And then the team that I played on is just represented on this.
Joe Haden
Hey, listen, man. Hey, listen. My guy right here, Terrell Tisdale, said, why in the chat right here? He said, why don't y' all like the video? 225 watching and not even 100 likes. Y' all are same thing. Hey, you watching, but you ain't liking.
Deebo Samuel
Is they not liking what it Help
Joe Haden

Deebo Samuel
I appreciate that.
Joe Haden
I appreciate you, baby.
Deebo Samuel

Stefon Diggs Linked to Commanders + Megatron Record In Danger?
Date: June 16, 2026
Host: Shannon Sharpe (Shay Shay Media & Playmaker)
Guests: Deebo Samuel, Joe Haden
In this installment of Club Shay Shay, Deebo Samuel and Joe Haden dive deep into the evolving NFL landscape—talking breaking records, legendary careers, and big trade rumors. The focus stays firmly on Calvin “Megatron” Johnson’s single-season receiving yards record, the plausibility of it being overtaken, the unique power of longevity in NFL greatness, and the buzz around Stefon Diggs possibly joining the Washington Commanders. The hosts also field engaging live chat questions, provide insights into the challenges of playing in one’s hometown, and share candid locker room philosophies.
[03:25] – [05:59]
“If Matthew Stafford is the quarterback… he's done it with Megatron, he's done it with Cooper Kupp, and now I think with that level of receiver, it's Puka Nakua.” (Deebo Samuel, 04:20)
[08:00] – [10:00]
“You just need one—a buck 20, two bands at 17 games… You gotta do something where you just spaz—a couple games, you got to go for, man, a 250 piece and then a 200.” (Deebo Samuel, 10:00)
[10:41] – [15:01]
Jerry Rice’s All-Time Receiving Yards (almost 23,000 yards)
Deebo and Joe agree: Longevity makes it the hardest to touch.
“You’re not gonna touch anything Jerry Rice has did as far as longevity. Like, you’re not going to touch it, dude.” (Joe Haden, 11:41) “The thing is people can start off and have six year spans of greatness… But when you get to around six years, you’d have to have ten 2,000 yard seasons and you still ain’t beating [Rice].” (Deebo Samuel, 13:53)
Other Out-of-Reach Feats:
Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase: Are they on pace? Maybe, but the marathon nature of Rice’s record is nearly impossible to sustain.
[22:27] – [23:40]
“That man Derrick Henry plays four more years and averages 1200 yards, he’s right at it.” (Deebo Samuel, 23:28)
[24:37] – [26:36]
“I think it’d be good for him… Daniels needs as many weapons as he could possibly have. And I think Stefon Diggs still got some game in him, for sure.” (Deebo Samuel, 25:16)
[26:36] – [31:53]
Weight listings: Players laugh about how their official weights on record barely changed during their careers—regardless of actual playing weight.
Candid banter:
“I was walking around 182… it still said 195.” (Deebo Samuel, 27:57)
Camp approaches: Some players worked weight down during training camp, some worked it up, but nowadays the expectation is to show up ready to perform.
[32:07] – [38:34]
Both acknowledge the difficulties and distractions of playing close to home early in a career versus the appeal later after establishing oneself.
Deebo’s perspective:
“I think once you get older, you get family, you get kids, you get matured… it’s a perfect time to be able to come home. But when I first get drafted… I would need it to go away. Kind of… It’s a whole lot of just a process.” (Deebo Samuel, 36:26)
Importance of learning to prioritize football over local social/family obligations.
