Cherelle Rosado
Well, closing thought is the idea of the one becoming too customized is the idea of the one becoming too customized to the point we're missing out on the real thing. I think we get get to a certain age where we know, okay, we can't customize too much. Yes, we have standards, yes, you know, we have expectations. But it comes to a point where you start to compromise certain things like, okay, I can deal with this, I can deal with that. I'll lay my guard down for this. But it's, it's different from your 20s to your late 30s and 40s of what you want and what you expect, that's my thought.
Portia Berto
But you're not. You're not saying to settle. You're just saying no. You just ain't nitpicking every little thing.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm not nitpicking every little thing. Like, I wouldn't look at the attraction would be. Wouldn't be my first thing right off bat, as it would have been when I was 20 years old. Oh, he gotta be this, he gotta be that. Yeah, he gotta be six, six, seven tall and chocolate.
Portia Berto
I've never been that person anyway. I could fall in love with a doorknob. I mean, like, if you treat me well, if you give me butterflies, like, I'll make it fit.
Alexis Stoudemire
You know what I'm saying?
Portia Berto
Like, that ain't enough. Make it enough. That's me. I'll make it enough. It's worked for me in the past. And then it quickly did not work for me. I fell ass backwards. My marriage. Because good thing he ended up being awesome, because I do not make good decisions.
Cherelle Rosado
Christian. Did you the story when you, Andre, had had y' all back in the early days.
Alexis Stoudemire
Oh, yeah.
Cherelle Rosado
And you started dating.
Alexis Stoudemire
Started dating just anyone. You know what I mean?
Portia Berto
Just like, oh, my God, he's so nice to me. He's like. He's broke. It's like, you know, it's like I'm. I can tell you, like, the amount of people that I like, I dated, especially the guy I was dating when I met Andre, bitch, he stole from me.
Alexis Stoudemire
Oh, no.
Portia Berto
He didn't have a car.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, red flag, red flag. Didn't have a phone.
Portia Berto
He had a crazy baby mama.
Alexis Stoudemire
I was red flag, red flag, flag.
Portia Berto
I'm like, whose life is this?
Alexis Stoudemire
It was not. It was not going to be yours, baby.
Portia Berto
I grew up in the suburbs. Why am I dealing with this portion?
Cherelle Rosado
What made you want to stay? I was just lost. A lost soul. I was.
Portia Berto
I was just young and just stupid and full of. Don't pay. I wasn't full of nothing. Okay.
Cherelle Rosado
What did you say? He stole from me. What?
Portia Berto
He stole from me.
Cherelle Rosado
He was crazy.
Portia Berto
Yeah. The stories I could tell you, you.
Alexis Stoudemire
Had to go through those. So now you're like, you know what? I need to be locked down. I need. This is not what I want. Oh, my God. No, but I. My. My attraction is turning into more instead of a physical attraction is definitely intellectual. And that is beyond sexy. The sexiest for me is conversation and where your mind is. Your. Your. Your want, your spirit, all these things. So that is my attraction now. And you know that Means I have to like be around you. I have to like have that connection enough, that conversation, that dialogue. So it's not as, it's not a physical thing. It's how you really like stimulate my mind, how we connect my, my, my mental, all these things. So it's turning into more of that for me than physical. To your point, Cheryl, I feel you on that.
Portia Berto
Good to know.
Cherelle Rosado
Portia worse than me, which when it.
Portia Berto
Comes to you, I'm going to let her live.
Cherelle Rosado
We're gonna let her live this time.
Portia Berto
I'm gonna let her live.
Cherelle Rosado
Look, Lance, we gotta talk. When we get off this podcast, we gotta get on.
Alexis Stoudemire
We need a three way.
Cherelle Rosado
Yes, we got to get on a three way call. I can't say too much because if I say something it's gonna.
Alexis Stoudemire
We're not gonna say no, we don't want you to.
Cherelle Rosado
I ain't saying.
Alexis Stoudemire
Protecting the people.
Portia Berto
Go to daddy.
Cherelle Rosado
We're gonna get to this next segment. Jackie Christie and her daughter when tv. Family support. Okay, so I don't watch reality TV that much and I haven't watched Basketball Wives, but I've been sitting on the, in the media. The drama between Jackie Christie and her daughter aired out on full force reality tv and it got ugly. Family wounds. Generational. Generational pain. Fame pressure. Let's unpack it all. Jackie and her daughter Takari had. Have had a strange relation, strained relationship for years. But this recent public breakdown triggered a wave of reactions online. Some say Jackie is toxic and prioritize her image. Others say her daughter is bitter and using the platform to hurt her mother. Mother and daughter dynamics under the spotlight.
Alexis Stoudemire
Well, when I, I don't, I do not watch the show.
Portia Berto
Right.
Alexis Stoudemire
But just the overall, it's kind of sad. It's just sad. To me, it's disappointing. No one wants to be one, not getting along with their mother. But two, we're now doing physical harm to one another. And it's recorded. Yeah, some video. So we just have a lot of layers of just hurt, pain, anger, rage built, built up like, you know, all these things. So it's just really sad and disappointing. And unfortunately, you know, the stigma of reality TV of like, look at us on TV fighting, you know, so it's just a lot of layers of just like disappointment and heartbreak. You know, I hate to see it. And they, regardless of whatever they have going on, I hope they do better. I hope they get some help. Go speak to somebody, a mediator.
Portia Berto
It's like in the early days, the early days of Basketball Wives, like you could Kind of tell. Like, Jackie had issues with her daughters or one specifically she had, like, they were kind of estranged. They didn't get along. And her daughter, who's on the show now, she has talked about, like, her relationship with her mom. And now she's coming out and saying that it's always been, like, you know, tumultuous, a little toxic. And my whole thing is, even if that is the case, even if you do think your mom is toxic, even if you do think she's problematic and all this other stuff, like Basketball Wives is very much Jackie's platform. That's her platform. If you really felt like your mom was all of this and all of that, you had to have known that coming onto her platform, it wasn't going to strengthen the relationship. It was probably going to make it worse. And I feel like if I thought my mom was problematic like that, and I thought she was a problem, and I. I'm not going on. On her plat. I'm not going on her platform. Jackie Christie is Basketball Wife. That is from episode one to. That's her thing. So I'm not going to go on to her thing. And I just wouldn't. I wouldn't do it. You can. There's nothing you can give me to make me fight my mama on tv. Not one thing not to say that it was just one person's fault. You just wouldn't. I'm not. Because the clip that I saw, I don't even know what they were talking about. I don't know what they was arguing about, but I know the daughter was on her way out the door, and she was at the door, and then she turned around and came back. And that's when stuff really got. And I said, oh, they really swinging on each other. Like, that was. No, no, ma'. Am. Under no circumstance. Under no circumstance. Because if I even see it going that way, if I even know how my mama get down or I know how I feel.
Cherelle Rosado
Oh, baby.
Portia Berto
No, I mean, trick bag. No, I'm not doing that.
Alexis Stoudemire
It's just even raising two daughters, I don't want to be. I don't want to have it. I pray that I don't have that relationship. They have that anger towards me ever. I pray that. I pray that I don'. That rage against my. My children.
Cherelle Rosado
Daughters.
Alexis Stoudemire
My daughters. Like, that's incredible. That's insane. And then, you know, even raising sons, the same thing. You know, this is not how you talk to people. This is not how you, you know, communicate. You know, that seems to be the.
Cherelle Rosado
Thing it shouldn't have gotten to that point.
Portia Berto
Now the comments were saying that, you know, she got on the show and she, like, low key, kind of linked up with.
Alexis Stoudemire
With.
Portia Berto
With the girls who don't really mess with Jackie. And I'm like, that alone is like, that's a lot.
Alexis Stoudemire
Just a lot.
Portia Berto
You know what I'm saying? You want to hang out with the girls that your mama don't even deal with. And I'm real big on if I don't deal with them, and you're my friend. I'm already going to be like this. You know what I'm saying? Not that we can't be friends, but I don't like to deal with people who deal with people that don't like me. I don't like to do that.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Portia Berto
You know what I'm saying? Me and you, we close friends. And, you know, this girl hate my guts. Yeah, my close friends, too. I don't care what nobody say.
Cherelle Rosado
It's worse. And then it's even worse when it's your blood, your child, your child.
Portia Berto
You know what I mean? Like, people can say they can be partial and, you know, they can be neutral and they can be in the middle. You can't. You can exist in the middle, but you can't say that we are close. We're family, and. And then y' all are. Y' all are family, too. I don't know about that. I don't know. That's just me.
Alexis Stoudemire
I understand that completely.
Portia Berto
I don't do that. I'm not hanging out with nobody. Don't like my mama. Even if at the time I don't like my mama.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, exactly.
Cherelle Rosado
My mama.
Portia Berto
You can't pop.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah. You can always go back and this.
Cherelle Rosado
What your mom tell her. You. You get mad, you better scratch your ass and get glad. You better get.
Portia Berto
Scratch your ass and get glad. You are just.
Cherelle Rosado
This country, as you said, you better get over it. I would never.
Alexis Stoudemire
You can do it. What'd you say?
Portia Berto
She said what?
Alexis Stoudemire
I wanted to hear it because. What I wanted to hear it clear, what you said. Get mad, get glad.
Cherelle Rosado
That's a great.
Alexis Stoudemire
That's a great tagline, by the way.
Cherelle Rosado
A commercial, a country saying. If you get mad, you better scratch your ass and get glad. I don't know where they come up with these country sayings every day.
Portia Berto
You know your country just a little bit more. It just seeping out. It's like.
Alexis Stoudemire
She'S using it as a reference from. You heard it before. So now you're like, let me Go.
Cherelle Rosado
I used to always see it, girl when she was.
Portia Berto
I knew she was country. And we was filming and we were talking about me being pregnant, and she asked me, have I started eating clay?
Cherelle Rosado
White dirt. The white dirt, the white dirt, the dirt. I was like, do you crave white dirt?
Portia Berto
I said, where the hell I'm gonna find some. Some white dirt, What I'm gonna find?
Alexis Stoudemire
He's like, I've never even heard of this. You never heard Miami, where I'm gonna.
Portia Berto
Get the clay from?
Cherelle Rosado
Y' all never heard of white dirt? They used to sell it at a farmer's market back home.
Portia Berto
Back home. Precisely. What you use it for, why you sell it, what is it for?
Dani Shapiro
My Uncle Chris is definitely somebody worth talking about. He was the kind of guy that lived in a trailer with an ex con and a retired stripper, left loaded machine guns laying around, drank a bottle of whiskey a night, claimed he could kill a man with his bare hands, drove a garbage truck for a living, spoke fluent Spanish with a thick Southern accent, and is currently buried in a crypt alongside the founding families Panama. Listen to the Uncle Chris podcast to hear all about him. And a whole lot more. Wild stories about adventure, romance, crime, history and war intertwine as I share the tall tales and hard truths that have helped me understand Uncle Chris. This collection of stories will make you laugh. It'll make you cry. And if I do my job right, they'll let you see the world and your place in it in a whole new way. I can't wait to tell you all about Uncle Uncle Chris. Listen now to Uncle Chris on Will Ferrell's Big Money Players Network, on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
Cherelle Rosado
Kelly Harnett spent over a decade in prison for a murder she says she didn't commit.
Portia Berto
I'm 100% innocent.
Cherelle Rosado
While behind bars, she learned the law from scratch.
Alexis Stoudemire
He goes, oh, God.
Portia Berto
Harnett, jailhouse lawyer.
Cherelle Rosado
And as she fought for herself, she also became a lifeline for the women locked up alongside her.
Alexis Stoudemire
You're supposed to have your faith in God. But I had nothing but faith in her.
Cherelle Rosado
So many of these women had lived the same stories.
Portia Berto
I said, were you a victim of domestic violence?
Cherelle Rosado
And she was like, yeah, but maybe Kelly could change the ending.
Alexis Stoudemire
I said, how many people have gotten.
Portia Berto
Other incarcerated individuals out of here?
Alexis Stoudemire
I'm gonna be the first one to do that.
Cherelle Rosado
This is the story of Kelly Harnett, a woman who spent 12 years fighting not just for her own freedom, but her girlfriend's too. I think I have a mission from.
Portia Berto
God to save souls by getting people out of prison.
Cherelle Rosado
The girlfriends jailhouse lawyer. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Dani Shapiro
What would you do if one bad decision forced you to choose between a maximum security prison or the most brutal boot camp designed to be hell on earth? Unfortunately for Mark Lombardo, this was the choice he faced.
Alexis Stoudemire
He said, you are a number, a.
Dani Shapiro
New York state number, and we own you. Shock incarceration, also known as boot camps, are short term, highly regimented correctional program that mimic military basic training. These programs aim to provide a shock of prison life emphasizing strict discipline, physical training, hard labor and rehabilitation programs. Mark had one chance to complete this program and had no idea of the hell awaiting him the next six months.
Alexis Stoudemire
The first night was overwhelming and you don't know who's next to you and.
Cherelle Rosado
We didn't know what to expect in the morning.
Alexis Stoudemire
Nobody tells you anything.
Dani Shapiro
Listen to shock incarceration on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
Portia Berto
A foot washed up, a shoe with.
Alexis Stoudemire
Some bones in it. They had no idea who it was.
Cherelle Rosado
Most everything was burned up pretty good.
Dani Shapiro
From the fire, that not a whole lot was salvageable.
Alexis Stoudemire
These are the coldest of cold cases. But everything is about to change.
Cherelle Rosado
Every case that is a cold case.
Alexis Stoudemire
That has DNA right now in a backlog will be identified in our lifetime.
Cherelle Rosado
A small lab in Texas is cracking.
Alexis Stoudemire
The code on DNA using new scientific tools.
Cherelle Rosado
They're finding clues in evidence so tiny you might just miss it.
Dani Shapiro
He never thought he was going to get caught. And I just looked at my computer screen, I was just like, ah, gotcha.
Cherelle Rosado
On America's Crime Lab, we'll learn about victims and survivors. And you'll meet the team behind the scenes at othram, the Houston lab that.
Alexis Stoudemire
Takes on the most hopeless cases to.
Cherelle Rosado
Finally solve the unsolvable. Listen to America's Crime Lab on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. You eat it. It was like a log off.
Alexis Stoudemire
What is it made out of? And that's supposed to like.
Cherelle Rosado
You crave it. But the thing about it is, like, I used to eat it with Ariana and Ariana came out with white clay on her body.
Portia Berto
That's not white clay. It's called Bernix and everybody's got it.
Cherelle Rosado
No, it was, it was white clay. It was the clay.
Alexis Stoudemire
Wait a minute. What is the clay made out of?
Portia Berto
Leave it.
Cherelle Rosado
Get off.
Alexis Stoudemire
You said she's in Timeout. She's gotta go.
Portia Berto
Lex, get her out of here. Ariana did not come out with clay on her body.
Alexis Stoudemire
So the clay got into the sack.
Portia Berto
What a dork.
Alexis Stoudemire
It sounded.
Cherelle Rosado
It sounded good.
Portia Berto
Wait a second. Wait a second. But you said they used to sell it. Did they sell it?
Cherelle Rosado
No, that's true.
Alexis Stoudemire
What does the clay taste like? What is it made out of? I need answers. I'm.
Portia Berto
It's dirt. Le.
Cherelle Rosado
It's from outside. It's clay.
Portia Berto
It's dirt.
Alexis Stoudemire
It has no flavor.
Cherelle Rosado
It's clay. It has a flavor. When you crave it. You crave. It's something that you just crave. But they used to sell it in chunks at the farmer's market.
Portia Berto
They used to sell it for people to eat?
Cherelle Rosado
Yes.
Portia Berto
Y' all was over there inbreeding and stuff. I know it.
Cherelle Rosado
Ask the Chat. Have they ever heard of white dirt?
Alexis Stoudemire
Ask the Chat, please.
Portia Berto
Because I feel like, where you from? They had a lot of kissing cousins. That's all I'm gonna say.
Cherelle Rosado
No, no, Portia, I'm finna show you right now.
Portia Berto
Over there eating dirt and they selling it for y'.
Alexis Stoudemire
All. No.
Portia Berto
Like, it's a delicacy. I'm confused.
Alexis Stoudemire
It was.
Cherelle Rosado
She said it was called white clay. This. This actually how they used to sell it.
Portia Berto
I love how country you are.
Alexis Stoudemire
Grandma's.
Cherelle Rosado
Grandma's Georgia white dirt for consumption. Yes.
Portia Berto
I need to know.
Cherelle Rosado
Grandma's Georgia white dirt.
Alexis Stoudemire
What. What are the. What are the benefits?
Portia Berto
What are the nutritional values?
Cherelle Rosado
There was none. It's just. You craved it when you was pregnant.
Portia Berto
That is crazy.
Alexis Stoudemire
How do you know that's even a craving? I mean, even the pickles.
Cherelle Rosado
You crave pickles.
Portia Berto
People like it. Don't you?
Alexis Stoudemire
What happened to like.
Portia Berto
Like, laundry?
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. How do you even know what you. That. That that's an option. They say the Chat said hell no to white dirt. Yeah. You on your own health benefits.
Cherelle Rosado
Like detoxification.
Alexis Stoudemire
The chat agrees with us. Hell, no.
Cherelle Rosado
In the South. In the south, they used to eat white dirt.
Portia Berto
In the south, we ain't eating no dirt.
Cherelle Rosado
No. Florida is not the South. The sub. It's really not. It's just down South.
Alexis Stoudemire
North. Florida is the south. North.
Cherelle Rosado
No, it's not.
Portia Berto
What are we.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm saying, like, country. Country in the country. Dirty South.
Alexis Stoudemire
Like Alabama.
Cherelle Rosado
South Carolina.
Alexis Stoudemire
Alabama.
Cherelle Rosado
Gorgeous. South Carolina. Yeah.
Portia Berto
Make me get on the Internet and ask who been eating dirt.
Cherelle Rosado
It's called clay. I'm telling you. People used to crave it.
Portia Berto
Okay, I take your Word for that.
Alexis Stoudemire
How do you even know that's a craving? Is crazy to me. I'm trying to figure that out for.
Cherelle Rosado
Because they used to sell it at the farmer's house.
Alexis Stoudemire
I'm just saying that wasn't a craving for us. And when I live right near Sedona.
Cherelle Rosado
It was something that. It was something that you grew up on. It ain't just. You don't just go to the sand and get it. It ain't white dirt, which is.
Alexis Stoudemire
I just need to know what it needs, what it tastes like. Is it.
Cherelle Rosado
When I go back to Georgia, Is.
Alexis Stoudemire
It, you know, nutty? Is it? Woody, I need some answers.
Cherelle Rosado
It's not nutty. It's chalky.
Alexis Stoudemire
Chalky. So like magnesium, like that? Like the milk of magnesium?
Cherelle Rosado
Yes.
Alexis Stoudemire
Like when. Oh, there it is.
Portia Berto
Oh, my God.
Cherelle Rosado
You see it? Yeah.
Portia Berto
First of all, it looks chalky.
Alexis Stoudemire
It looks very much like.
Cherelle Rosado
It's like a clay congestion.
Alexis Stoudemire
Oh, looks like lard.
Cherelle Rosado
But. But people told y' all my favorite country.
Portia Berto
Didn't I tell you?
Cherelle Rosado
Pregnant women used to eat it. See, Alabama and Georgia, they eat it.
Alexis Stoudemire
I gotta ask my friends in Georgia.
Cherelle Rosado
You can't ask. You gotta ask like, the. The older people.
Portia Berto
I'm ask Phil. I'm gonna ask Ashley.
Alexis Stoudemire
Husband. Oh, yeah, that would have been.
Cherelle Rosado
Oh, yeah, we can ask Phil. Phil's family probably ate white dirt because it was a farmer's market right there on Victory Drive. A Peabody Apartments.
Portia Berto
Okay, Peabody.
Cherelle Rosado
My. My great uncle used to work at that farmer's market, and they used to always sell white dirt.
Portia Berto
And you got you a nice handful, hungry self, just sitting there like I'm a brain.
Cherelle Rosado
So when I come back. When I come back, I'm just gonna bring it and let y' all see it. Y' all can do a little test tape?
Portia Berto
Just a little bit?
Alexis Stoudemire
No, thank you.
Cherelle Rosado
All right, y', all, let's get to our next subject.
Portia Berto
Goodness gracious.
Cherelle Rosado
The veneers are the. They the new BBL for the mouth. Not BBL for the mouth.
Alexis Stoudemire
That would be lip injections and filler for the. In the lip flip.
Cherelle Rosado
That is true.
Alexis Stoudemire
That would be the BBL for the lips.
Cherelle Rosado
The lip injections. Social media has glamorized the perfect smile, and now veneers are the go to for a flawless look. But are they safe or are people trading healthy teeth for the gram?
Portia Berto
Definitely for the gram. But a smile is a big deal.
Cherelle Rosado
A smile is a big deal.
Alexis Stoudemire
I was just about to say that. I wouldn't say it's for the gram. It's definitely for people want to care about. Yeah. Their smile. That's the first thing you see on someone is their smile.
Portia Berto
Sometimes I think it's for the gram because some people do it and ain't.
Cherelle Rosado
Nothing and they have perfect teeth.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah. I was going to be one of those people.
Portia Berto
I was. Oh, I was going to cuss real bad.
Cherelle Rosado
But people think I have veneers and I don't want these. My natural teeth.
Portia Berto
Listen, I feel like your teeth, it's like your character. You know what I mean? Like, if you don't have to get rid of them, don't. And you gonna be mad at me. Cherelle, I'm telling you, I'm gonna get some adult braces.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm gonna get some. No. Why get braces? You need to just get Invisalign. Invisalign.
Portia Berto
I don't have the discipline for Invisalign.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, you have to be up on it. Just get your braces and get.
Portia Berto
They have some tried Invisalign like, twice. And something like you have to put your. Actively put yourself in.
Cherelle Rosado
You really gonna look like a little 12 year old with braces.
Portia Berto
Oh, I knew you was gonna say that.
Alexis Stoudemire
They have gold ones. Rose gold.
Cherelle Rosado
But I want to get. I don't know if I want to get braces or Invisalign, but I want to get.
Portia Berto
Try Invisalign. I could not do it, but you should try it. I tried it twice. $5,000 down the drain, but whatevs. I just can't put myself in pain. That's what you're doing every time they train. But I'm not doing that to myself.
Cherelle Rosado
I never had them. I just seen my kids.
Alexis Stoudemire
I had braces in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.
Portia Berto
Having something just on you and then you go and they tighten them or whatever. That's not you doing it to yourself. Changing out your tray and putting on another one. That hurts even worse. I'm not doing that.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah. Array had Invisalign first, and they just were not doing what they needed to properly. So now all four of my babies have braces. And I'm like, y'.
Cherelle Rosado
All.
Alexis Stoudemire
Y' all will thank us later on down the road, probably.
Cherelle Rosado
Thank you. My daughter did good. I was surprised. She just went through the process of the Invisalign, and now her teeth are perfect.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Cherelle Rosado
I didn't want to get Invisalign on my bottle.
Portia Berto
But speaking of those line on your bottom, they're gonna. Because once they change the bottom, the top changes too. So they're gonna do top and the bottom and.
Alexis Stoudemire
And you know what? It's interesting because speaking of those veneers, the. There was some that you will see all the big like.
Cherelle Rosado
Oh, I hate saying the big concrete.
Alexis Stoudemire
And they're super white.
Cherelle Rosado
They're super.
Alexis Stoudemire
And then it was like a lot of people were just doing them in their house. They were.
Portia Berto
And they're all the same. The Chiclets, they're all the same shape. Like how you got the same tooth across eight.
Alexis Stoudemire
It was bad.
Cherelle Rosado
And you can't. They so big you can't even call your mouth.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, yeah, yeah, but it is. But it's also. You know, we do. We joke around and say it's the new bbl, but at the same time it's like it's universal. Everybody wants that smile.
Cherelle Rosado
But. But the thing about it is I paid what I pay attention to. I have these dentists that do it. They don't have them. So are they really. And when I went to my dentist, he was like, get the out my chair. That's what he told me. He was like, I'm not messing up your teeth. You have beautiful teeth. I'm not putting that in your mouth. I was like, I think I want some. Some veneers.
Alexis Stoudemire
At least he was honest. Yes, just. At least he was honest and didn't take your money.
Portia Berto
Didn't take.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah.
Portia Berto
I said, girl, don't you goddamn to do that. And look at. She still went and sat in the chair.
Cherelle Rosado
Still set my ass in that chair.
Alexis Stoudemire
You know, she gonna do it regardless. You know.
Cherelle Rosado
But speaking of. What I don't understand is people will spend all this money the easy way out, but just give it a try. Going to doing your regular routines, getting your teeth clean, getting Invisalign or getting braces. Something that's. That's. Unless you really, really have to. Yeah, because some of these dentists don't know what they doing. They shaving your teeth down too much. They put in the temple, whatever it is. Over. Over rotten teeth. Now you're walking around smelling like mothballs and shit. How your whisper stink falls. And it's worse, you know when you whispering it and then it just blow out mothballs. Oh, mothballs and shit. That's what it says.
Portia Berto
My God, my God, my God, my God.
Cherelle Rosado
Y' all can't tell me y' all don't be smelling stink breaths.
Portia Berto
I'll be getting close enough under some of them veneers.
Alexis Stoudemire
I know exactly what you talking about, but I would not equate it to mothballs.
Portia Berto
I would equate with it's very ammonia ish the way that you're talking about it. I would equate it to. Because I know you know. Cause you country too, when you meet somebody with like permanent goals.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yes.
Cherelle Rosado
That. Oh, I got some people who didn't have permanent goals. They every. All of it then fell off. Now they bow mouth. What day Israel bad mouth.
Alexis Stoudemire
So they have severe allatosis. That's what it is.
Cherelle Rosado
You know, rotten. Have a smell to it.
Portia Berto
Yeah, of course.
Cherelle Rosado
Right. And it can't. And that smell. It seeps through. That stings is what it does through them veneers.
Alexis Stoudemire
It seeps through.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah, seeps. I can't even talk right.
Portia Berto
You know what? You know what? I would say that some people's veneers are like bbls, because some of those are a little stinky, a little spicy.
Alexis Stoudemire
Spicy.
Portia Berto
Some of those little.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm not knocking, but if you go, if you're gonna get it, get it done right, get it done correctly. Make sure you get the rotten teeth out your mouth. Make sure you get whatever needs to be fixed fixed before you get them. Because I mean it, it's. It's a nice procedure. On certain people, on with the dentist who know how to do it.
Portia Berto
Yeah.
Cherelle Rosado
Some people that don't know what the hell they doing.
Portia Berto
I don't know what they're doing.
Cherelle Rosado
But the people who get it done, I mean, it's. Make sure you get it done right.
Portia Berto
Yeah. Andre is a huge advocate for braces because he had braces and he had him like in his 20s and his teeth are perfect. It's sickening. I hate it, but I love it and it's awesome. And I'm like, God, I gotta get me some of that. I guess I gotta look like a child.
Alexis Stoudemire
It'll go quicker.
Cherelle Rosado
Just, you know what y' all know I. Y' all knew I grew up like down in the hood, right. So we ain't go to the dentist. Growing up as a child, my Uncle.
Dani Shapiro
Chris is definitely somebody worth talking about. He was the kind of guy that used Confederate flags as window curtains, lived in a trailer with an ex con and a retired stripper, left loaded machine guns laying around, drank a bottle of whiskey a night, claimed he could kill a man with his bare hands, drove a garbage truck for a living, spoke fluent Spanish with a thick southern accent, and is currently buried in a crypt alongside the founding families of Panama. Listen to the Uncle Chris podcast to hear all about him and a whole lot more. This collection of stories will make you laugh, it'll make you cry. And if I do my job right, they'll let you see the world and your place in it in a whole new way. I can't wait to tell you all about Uncle Chris.
Harnett, jailhouse lawyer.
Cherelle Rosado
And as she fought for herself, she also became a lifeline for the women locked up alongside her.
Alexis Stoudemire
You're supposed to have your faith in God, but I had nothing but faith in her.
Cherelle Rosado
So many of these women had lived the same stories.
Portia Berto
I said, were you a victim of domestic violence?
Cherelle Rosado
And she was like, yeah, but maybe Kelly could change the ending.
Portia Berto
I said, how many people have gotten other incarcerated individuals out of here?
Alexis Stoudemire
I'm going to be the first one to do that.
Cherelle Rosado
This is the story of Kelly Harnett, a woman who spent 12 years fighting not just for her own freedom, but her girlfriend's, too. I think I have a mission from.
Portia Berto
God to save souls by getting people out of prison.
Cherelle Rosado
The girlfriends, jailhouse lawyer. Listen on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Alexis Stoudemire
So what happened at Chappaquiddick? Well, it really depends on who you talk to.
Dani Shapiro
There are many versions of what happened in 1969 when a young Ted Kennedy drove a car into a PO and.
Portia Berto
Left a woman behind to drown.
Alexis Stoudemire
There's a famous headline, I think, in the New York Daily News.
Portia Berto
It's teddy Escapes Blonde Drowns.
Alexis Stoudemire
And in a strange way, right, that sort of tells you the story really became about Ted's political future, Ted's political hopes. Will Ted become President?
Dani Shapiro
Chappaquiddick is a story of a tragic death and how the Kennedy machine took control.
Alexis Stoudemire
And he's not the only Kennedy to survive a scandal.
Dani Shapiro
The Kennedys have lived through disgrace, affairs, violence, you name it. So is there a curse? Every week, we go behind the headlines and beyond the drama of America's royal family.
Portia Berto
Listen to United States of Kennedy on.

The summer of 1993 was one of the best of my life. I'm journalist Jeff Pearlman, and this is Rick Jervis.
Alexis Stoudemire
We were interns at the Nashville Tennessean. But the most unforgettable part, our roommate Reggie Payne, From Oakland sports editor and.
Dani Shapiro
Aspiring rapper and his stage name, Sexy Sweat. In 2020, I had a simple idea. Let's find Reggie.
Alexis Stoudemire
We searched everywhere, but Reggie was gone. In February 2020, Reggie was having a diabetic episode. His mom called 911. Police cuffed him face down.
Dani Shapiro
He slipped into a coma and died.
Alexis Stoudemire
I'm like, thanking you, but then I see my son's not moving.
Dani Shapiro
No headlines, no outrage, just silence.
Alexis Stoudemire
So we started digging and uncovered city officials bent on protecting their own.
Dani Shapiro
Listen to finding Sexy Sweat on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm being honest.
Portia Berto
You just lucked up because you really be fair mouth like your boy.
Cherelle Rosado
I'll be, hon. I didn't have no cavities. Nothing. My grandma done was so strict on this. We. She used to have the bacon soda.
Alexis Stoudemire
Soda. I knew you gonna say baking soda. I hear it from.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah, baby. My grandma made sure we brushed our teeth at night and in the morning. Get, baby, go get that baking soda and get that toothpaste. Put that baking soda on there and scrub it. And my teeth are white. I got natural good teeth. And I never had to worry about.
Portia Berto
Me and Cherelle went drinking, and we got like, somebody brought us some strawberries. I didn't know she was drunk or what she tastes. And she started brushing her teeth with the strawberry.
Alexis Stoudemire
I heard that too.
Portia Berto
I said, what the hell is you doing?
Cherelle Rosado
She's like, no.
Portia Berto
She's like, we're at a very nice place. And she didn't know.
Cherelle Rosado
I was showing you I was drunk, but I was telling you, this is a natural white nurse. Have you heard of that?
Alexis Stoudemire
Yes, I have.
Portia Berto
It's funny because I have very place.
Cherelle Rosado
I was drunk. I was tipsy. I wasn't drunk. Ladies don't get drunk. I was tipsy. I was like, oh, Portia, did you know that strawberries are a natural white dirt?
Portia Berto
Yeah, sure. That's how she said it. That's exactly what happened, you guys. Yep, that's how it happened.
Alexis Stoudemire
But I give it to you.
Portia Berto
Teeth is white, so you're doing something right, girl.
Cherelle Rosado
Listen. So shout out to all the good dentists. We have some great dentists that y' all can. That we can recommend. Dr. Brandon Mack here in Tampa, Florida. Dr. Amira down in Miami. They are amazing. They do great teeth. If y' all ever want to get some veneers done the right way, check out my peeps. Now let's get to the humble baddies mail. Before we call it a night, let me Read it. Yaki.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah. Humble baddies. MALE Do y' all believe in the supernatural or.
Cherelle Rosado
Nah.
Alexis Stoudemire
Fan letter. Hey, humble baddies. Hey. Let me start by saying I love y' all so much. The realness, the laughs, the way y' all get into the deep stuff. I live for it. So here's my question for y'.
Cherelle Rosado
All.
Alexis Stoudemire
What's something supernatural that y' all actually believe is real?
Cherelle Rosado
Aliens?
Alexis Stoudemire
I want to say yes.
Portia Berto
I want to say no, because. Okay, I'm a little conspiracy theorist. Don't look at me like I'm crazy. I don't really believe in aliens. I do. But I also kind of believe in demons. And I think that the government just keeps teasing us like the aliens are coming back, when really it's going to be the Antichrist because they don't want us to believe in the Lord. It's my conspiracy. Don't judge me for it. The aliens come, and it's the Antichrist and it's the demons, because they.
Cherelle Rosado
Somewhere they are.
Alexis Stoudemire
I definitely believe in demons, but sure, yeah. So I think that would be my thing.
Portia Berto
They everywhere.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah. Yeah.
Portia Berto
But supernatural.
Cherelle Rosado
What else would I.
Alexis Stoudemire
But I also believe in angels, too. I believe angels are around us.
Portia Berto
Oh, for sure.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Portia Berto
I believe in a legion.
Cherelle Rosado
I would be aliens.
Portia Berto
Yeah. I. I don't know.
Cherelle Rosado
I don't know.
Portia Berto
I believe that if something does show up and they go, oh, my God, it's the aliens. I'd be like, child, please. That's the Antichrist. Y' all ain't fooling nobody. This is Revelations. Oh, not fooling me. The Lord is on his way. That's what I'm gonna say. Don't have me trying to welcome the extra. No, no. I'm not walking with them as demons.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Portia Berto
Not welcoming nobody. All of y' all get out.
Cherelle Rosado
In the name of Jesus, I rebuke all of that.
Portia Berto
Go.
Cherelle Rosado
What about you, Lex?
Alexis Stoudemire
Well, that's why I said I was just. The demons that I. I believe are, you know, I believe they exist. And also, there's angels, too. It's the opposite. So that's it for me, supernatural aliens. I do believe in science. I love, like, astronomy. I love when, you know, spaceships go. I love the sun, the moon, the water, everything, you know, I. I believe in nature. So.
Portia Berto
Do you believe in mermaids?
Alexis Stoudemire
I am one.
Cherelle Rosado
Okay, wait, really? Because my daughter be watching these crazy tick tocks, and she's like, mom, they're mermaids.
Portia Berto
The sirens.
Cherelle Rosado
You believe in those?
Alexis Stoudemire
No.
Cherelle Rosado
You believe in mermaids, Portia?
Alexis Stoudemire
I don't believe in them.
Portia Berto
Like I said, I believe in demons.
Alexis Stoudemire
Like, I believe the dinosaurs existed.
Portia Berto
I believe there's. Oh, yeah. I believe there's stuff in the ocean that we are.
Cherelle Rosado
That we have not.
Alexis Stoudemire
I agree with that, too. Respectfully.
Portia Berto
I believe there's a lot going on down there.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Portia Berto
That we don't know about.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah, I agree with that, too.
Portia Berto
I feel like she's just asking us, like, what kind of conspiracies do we believe in? Because we can really go deep. We can go into the reptilian people. I can really take you there because.
Alexis Stoudemire
I'm a weirdo in real life, like Sasquatch and Bigfoot.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm gonna have to be drunk on that conversation. I can't be sober when we have dragons.
Portia Berto
And giants.
Alexis Stoudemire
I believe in the giants for sure.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah. I do believe they're in giants.
Portia Berto
I believe a thousand percent. Like, if we can have dinosaurs, why couldn't we have dragons? I really believe that the dinosaurs were just dragons.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah.
Portia Berto
Game of Thrones happened.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah. Like, I love Game of Thrones.
Portia Berto
It happened.
Cherelle Rosado
I'm not a Game of Thrones fan.
Portia Berto
You're not a Game of Thrones fan?
Cherelle Rosado
I have never watched Game of Thrones.
Alexis Stoudemire
No. You can't be a fan then, right?
Cherelle Rosado
I'm not a fan because I haven't watched it.
Portia Berto
What have you been doing with your life?
Cherelle Rosado
Come on.
Alexis Stoudemire

Portia Berto

Cherelle Rosado

Portia Berto

Like, some people love the Sopranos, the Wire. You know, like when. When HBO or something comes out with a series and everybody goes crazy, you don't have one of those shows.
Cherelle Rosado
So my favorite show was. What's the show with. In Mexico? The girl, what's her name? She was a cocaine. She started off as narcos, was one of them. What's the other one? The female.
Portia Berto
It seemed like some you like.
Cherelle Rosado
She dressed in all white hair pulled back in the ponytail. I can't think of it. Y' all know what I'm talking about? Out of Mexico.
Portia Berto
I don't know what you're talking about.
Cherelle Rosado
It's gonna come to me. I'll tell y'.
Alexis Stoudemire
All.
Cherelle Rosado
Somebody know what I'm talking about. I like.
Portia Berto

Cherelle Rosado
Yes. And before then, before series was there? I Was a big. It's a different world, Martin.
Alexis Stoudemire
Yeah.
Cherelle Rosado
And I rewatched those over and over and over and over again.
Portia Berto
What was your show, Lex?
Alexis Stoudemire
I love Sex and the City. That was one. From the beginning all the way to the end, I was invested.
Portia Berto
Do you watch the new one, Queen of the South?
Cherelle Rosado
No. That's what it was. Queen of the South. Somebody text me.
Portia Berto
Oh, I did hear that.
Alexis Stoudemire
Queen of the South.
Portia Berto
I did hear that was good. I never watched it, though.
Cherelle Rosado

Alexis Stoudemire

Portia Berto

Alexis Stoudemire
Oh, the Lannisters. I was. I. I love the show so much. I. When I went traveling, I went to Ireland, to Dubrovnik. I had to go see all these sites from the different things. I was like, hopping around and taking these.
Cherelle Rosado
Yeah, I can't relate to y'. All.
Portia Berto
You know, my. My. My new baby, Lennox, his new name is Wolf, and it's because of the Starks.

It's too late because I didn't took it over.
Cherelle Rosado
I said, what the. What is going on with this?
Alexis Stoudemire
Could have been a whole storage situation.
Portia Berto
Inheritance in that storage and let that little Spanish boy take it for $500.
Cherelle Rosado
That part I was like, if I knew you didn't want the storage, I could have got took over the damn payment and sold all this stuff.

Club Shay Shay Podcast Summary
Episode: Humble Baddies - Part 2: Jackie Christie's UGLY Beef with Daughter + Do You Believe In Aliens?
Release Date: July 24, 2025
In this engaging episode of Club Shay Shay, hosted by iHeartPodcasts and Shay Shay Media, Shannon Sharpe delves into a variety of compelling topics with co-hosts Portia Berto, Cherelle Rosado, and Alexis Stoudemire. The episode seamlessly blends personal anecdotes, celebrity drama, and lighthearted discussions on the supernatural, providing listeners with a rich and multifaceted conversation.
Timestamp: 02:05 – 05:00
The episode opens with Cherelle Rosado sharing her perspective on how relationship standards change over time. She emphasizes the importance of compromise and prioritizing deeper connections over superficial attributes.
Cherelle Rosado [02:05]: "The idea of the one becoming too customized to the point we're missing out on the real thing...you start to compromise certain things."
Portia Berto concurs, reflecting on her past approach to relationships where physical attraction was paramount but admitting that this strategy led to unfavorable outcomes, including a tumultuous marriage.
Portia Berto [03:10]: "I'll make it enough. It's worked for me in the past. And then it quickly did not work for me. I fell ass backwards. My marriage."
Alexis Stoudemire adds her insights on valuing intellectual and emotional connections over purely physical attraction, highlighting the shift in her personal attractions.
Alexis Stoudemire [05:00]: "My attraction is turning into more... intellectual. The sexiest for me is conversation and where your mind is."
Timestamp: 06:00 – 12:32
The conversation transitions to the highly publicized feud between NFL legend Jackie Christie and her daughter, Takari, as depicted on the reality TV show Basketball Wives. The hosts dissect the complexities of their mother-daughter dynamics under the relentless spotlight of reality television.
Cherelle Rosado [06:34]: "Jackie Christie and her daughter Takari had a strange relation, strained relationship for years. This public breakdown triggered a wave of reactions online."
Alexis expresses her disappointment and sadness over the public nature of their conflict, emphasizing the layers of hurt and the detrimental impact of filming such personal disputes.
Alexis Stoudemire [07:30]: "It's just sad... It really is disappointing and heartbreaking."
Portia adds that if one perceives their parent as toxic, leveraging their platform could exacerbate the relationship rather than mend it.
Portia Berto [09:00]: "If you really felt like your mom was all of this and all of that... you just wouldn't go on her platform."
The discussion highlights the challenges of maintaining familial bonds amidst fame and public scrutiny, advocating for seeking professional mediation to heal such wounds.
Alexis Stoudemire [10:32]: "I pray that I don't have that rage against my children. Like, that's incredible. That's insane."
Timestamp: 23:29 – 30:14
Shifting gears, the hosts delve into the topic of dental veneers, drawing parallels between veneers and cosmetic procedures like Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBLs). They debate the motivations behind choosing veneers, questioning whether it’s for personal satisfaction or for social media aesthetics.
Cherelle Rosado [23:38]: "The lip injections. Social media has glamorized the perfect smile, and now veneers are the go-to for a flawless look."
Portia shares her reservations about veneers, emphasizing the importance of preserving natural teeth and cautioning against potential dental complications.
Portia Berto [24:30]: "I feel like your teeth, it's like your character. If you don't have to get rid of them, don't."
Cherelle discusses her experiences with orthodontic treatments like braces and Invisalign, advocating for traditional braces over Invisalign due to better results.
Cherelle Rosado [25:00]: "I want to get some veneers... Ensure you get the rotten teeth out your mouth. Get them done correctly."
Alexis highlights the significance of maintaining dental health and shares anecdotes about her children’s positive experiences with braces.
Alexis Stoudemire [25:44]: "All four of my babies have braces... They'll thank us later on down the road."
Timestamp: 36:29 – 43:56
In the Humble Baddies Mail segment, listeners pose the question, "Do you believe in the supernatural or aliens?" The hosts share their varied beliefs, blending skepticism with fascination for the unknown.
Portia Berto [37:04]: "I want to say no, because... I'd be like, child, please. That's the Antichrist."
Cherelle expresses her belief in aliens while also entertaining darker conspiracies involving demons and the Antichrist.
Cherelle Rosado [37:37]: "Aliens? Somewhere they are."
Alexis navigates a middle ground, affirming her belief in demons and angels while appreciating scientific phenomena like astronomy.
Alexis Stoudemire [38:24]: "I believe in demons, but also angels... I believe in nature."
The conversation humorously touches on mythical creatures like mermaids and Bigfoot, with Portia asserting her belief in dragons as a nod to Game of Thrones lore.
Portia Berto [40:02]: "I believe a thousand percent... If we can have dinosaurs, why couldn't we have dragons?"
The segment concludes with a playful banter about favorite TV shows related to supernatural and fantastical themes, reinforcing the hosts' diverse interests and open-mindedness.
Timestamp: 14:00 – 35:00 & 43:56 – End
Throughout the episode, the hosts engage in playful exchanges about unique cravings during pregnancy, specifically referencing "white dirt" or clay consumption—a nod to the phenomenon known as pica. They incorporate humor and personal stories to foster a relatable and entertaining atmosphere.
Portia Berto [19:20]: "It's dirt. Leave it."
The hosts also promote their favorite dental professionals, encouraging listeners to seek reputable dentists for veneers and orthodontic treatments. Additionally, they interact with listener mail, fostering a sense of community and shared experiences.
Cherelle Rosado [02:05]: "The idea of the one becoming too customized to the point we're missing out on the real thing..."
Portia Berto [03:10]: "I'll make it enough. It's worked for me in the past. And then it quickly did not work for me."
Alexis Stoudemire [05:00]: "My attraction is turning into more... intellectual. The sexiest for me is conversation."
