Okay, have you heard about this? Last year, Degree changed the formula for their Cool Rush deodorant. Their fans rebelled and wanted the old scent back. And degree listened. That doesn't happen often. They admitted that they effed up and are bringing the original Cool Rush scent back. And it's exactly how you remember it.
Kyle Pitts
Cool, crisp and fresh. There's a reason it's the number one.

Jerry Jones chose the opening training camp by taking a shot at Michael Parsons. Ocho, let's take a listen to what Jerry had to say. Just because we sign him doesn't mean we're going to have him. He was hurt six games last year.
Chad Johnson
Seriously, we've signed.
Shannon Sharpe
I remember signing a player for the highest paid at the position in the league and he got knocked out two thirds of the year. Dak Prescott. So there's a lot of things you can think about when you Just as the player does when you're thinking about committing and guaranteeing money. He just can't help himself.
Chad Johnson
Dallas Cowboys fans, Dallas Cowboy players, this is your head coach. This is your. Excuse me, here comes. Hey. This is the man that he is the head coach.
Shannon Sharpe
Huh?
Chad Johnson
This is the man that runs the show. This is the man. This lets you know in short term how they really feel about you. It's a bit.
Shannon Sharpe
After all that man is doing, this.
Chad Johnson
Is how they really feel about you. There's nothing like getting. Taking a dig or taking a shot at your two star players. Your two star players. Oh, well, I made one the highest paid, but he missed it, missed the season because the injury. We play football. It's a contact sport. It's a barbaric sport. Sometimes injuries do happen.
Shannon Sharpe
I remember he made his. I remember he made another quarterback the highest paid and he never took a shot at him and he stayed injured. That ain't none of my business. I don't even know why I brought that up. Ocho.
Chad Johnson
This is who you have to go out there and play for. This is who you have to go out there.
Shannon Sharpe
I want to know, was Tony Romo.
Chad Johnson
That is how your owner thinks about you.
Shannon Sharpe
But we know that. See, see, the thing is. Oh, see, I remember in 2016 when Colin Nipda. Oh, but Jerry loves his players. Jerry loves people that look like you and I that can do something for him. Don't you fool yourself. See the mistake that people make. Oh, Jerry. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Michael Irving could do things for him. DEZ Bryant can do things for him. Emmett Smith could do things for him. Charles Haley could do things for him. Nate Newton, Larry Allen. I could go on and on and on. Stop fooling yourself. Oh, out of the kindness of your heart. Okay, okay.
Chad Johnson
I have a question. And this is for the chat for the for the people in the chat as well. If you played for the Cowboys organization, how would you feel as a player, understanding that's how the man who runs the show and writes your checks felt about you?
Shannon Sharpe
I already know how I feel about me. I've done my own.
Chad Johnson
How does that even give you the motivation?
Shannon Sharpe
Even want to go out there and play?
Chad Johnson
Play for that man outside of the money?
Shannon Sharpe
That's all I'm doing. See, he. What? He is upset. He's upset at Dak because Dak has always has been posed him. Dak has always, always been what it was. You're the owner, I'm the player. A lot of players get close to Jerry. Dak has never allowed that to happen. Todd France comes in, does the negotiating hard line. Boom. I'm up out of here. Dak goes about his business. Dak ain't trying to go to his house. Dak is not trying to go out, hang out with him. Dak is that Dak does what he does. Dak now has a family. Boom. Strictly business. You see, he taking a shot at Michael because Michael wouldn't let him. Wouldn't let him glaze him. Oh, it's between me and the player. You never did a deal with just the player when the player had representation. But you know what it's going to cost you because. Because you let Max Crosby get a new deal, you let Miles Garrett get a new deal, you let TJ Watt get a big new deal. And guess what? Michael Parsons is three to four years young in all of them. So guess what he's about to do? Pole vault him. So whatever TJ White got, Michael Parsons is going to get a million to $2 million more. And don't give me that junk. I play in Texas. Oh, well, I know it ain't no state income tax, and I'm glad for that. So that 42, 43 million. Uncle Sam's only gonna get 36% of it. No state taxes.
Chad Johnson
Right? And I'm understanding, obviously. I wanted to text Micah. I wanted to call him, but I was like, you know what? I'm not even gonna bother him. Just ask how you feel. How does that make you feel?
Shannon Sharpe
And I'm just my owner thing. My owner thinks about me. Now, what about the time he missed some games? But I guarantee you there's some games that he should have missed more. Because I know Michael has some issues going on, but that ain't none of my business. I don't even know why I brought that up again. Damn. I keep telling people business, you know.
Chad Johnson
How many times all of us have played the game of football and went out there anyway.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
It had to take toward all pills. Had to take. Had to take the tortoise shot just to line up and.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah, for the same. And then Zylocan Marquez. Yeah. Cortisone. Yes. All that shooting up in your shoulders and in your knees. Not. Well, I ain't shooting my knees up. I shot my ankles up, shot my shoulders up, ribs. Did all that. Ocho did all that.
Chad Johnson
I mean, how do we not. How do we not understand or just have any self awareness where. That's the kind of stuff that you say to yourself, but you never say out loud about the players that are on your team. You don't say stuff like that out loud.
Shannon Sharpe
Had the nerves dead in my ankles, so I couldn't feel no pain. The whole. That's what nerves do. They allow you to feel pain. Says, okay, hey, bro, back off that. I had my nerves done. Had my nerves and my ankles dead so I couldn't feel pain. So I could go out there and play. And then to have somebody talk like that, man, please. I'd have lost it. I'd have lost it.
Chad Johnson
Hey, you know what's funny is when you think about the owners, obviously, it's 32 owners. I think Jerry's the only one with the cojones to come out and say how he really feels. No one else would do that.
Shannon Sharpe
That's.
Chad Johnson
Why would you. What you thought, what you saw today. Nobody else.
Shannon Sharpe
Why would. But Jerry. Jerry. But see, that's what Jerry wanted to be about him. See, Jerry don't want no superstar because you know why he want a superstar? Because he. He would never take a Tom Brady. He would never. He couldn't play for Peyton Manning because they'd be bigger than he is. And he don't want that to happen.
Kyle Pitts
Right.
Shannon Sharpe
I've been very fortunate. I played for two owners, Mr. Bolan. I did something for his family today.
Chad Johnson
Yes, sir.
Shannon Sharpe
But Ocho, it was about us. We were the superstars. He used to tell me all the time, sharpie, I ain't catching no passes, Sharpie, I ain't make no tackles. Why the hell I need to be up there and talking and carrying on? That's what I pay you guys for. I said, you play us quite well. I. I don't. I don't get why Jerry felt to open up training camp like this. I don't know. Everything that comes up doesn't need to come out right. But Michael.
Chad Johnson
Oh, what you. What you thinking doesn't need to be said every little thought, especially stuff that you know, is going to ruffle people's feathers, catch media headlines. Hell, the only thing that should be catching headlines today is cowboys open up training camp and George Pickett looks good. Excuse my language. Sorry. George Pickens look good. Day one. That's it. That. That's what. That should be the conversation, not what you said about that. What you said about Michael. Man, come on.
Shannon Sharpe
J.J. watt took to Twitter. Well, excuse me. X to defend him. Anytime you can publicly take a dig at your star quarterback and your young star pass Russell simultaneously right before the season begins, you got to just take it. Nothing makes guys want to fight for you more than hearing how upset you are that they got hurt while fighting for you. Micah reposted that. No discount for you, Jerry.
Chad Johnson
Wait, hold on, hold on. What if. What if. What if he didn't. Excuse me? What if he even goes worse? What if Michael says, you know, that that's how you feel about me.
Shannon Sharpe
Trade me. Why don't you trade? Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Then what? Then what? And the funny thing is funny about. I'm just finding out all about Jerry's ways because I never played for the Cowboys. And obviously when I was playing, you know, I'm. I'm. I'm. I'm blind to what's going on over there. But you don't want to introduce me and told me about the whole thing with Jimmy Johnson.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah. So that.
Chad Johnson
That raised my eyebrows. But I thought, okay, maybe that just. Okay, maybe that's just a one off. Maybe this had a disagreement and he's not really like that. But they got into it.
Shannon Sharpe
But he thought after three years. He thought after he hired.89 was Jimmy's first year. That's the year he took over. He brought the. I think bum bright. I think that's who he bought the Cowboys from. So he took over him and him and Jimmy in 89. Cause Troy was their first draft pick. They won the championship in 92, won it again in 93 and again 95. So in four years. So 89, 90, 91.

Check out behind the Flow, a podcast documentary series following the launch of San Diego Football Club. We go behind the scenes and explore the stories of those involved.
Ryan Seacrest
San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team. We need veteran players and we need young players. Like you're building a team from scratch and so the succession plan of long term success needs to be defined. We need to embrace this community. When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier and we watched Paraguay against Chile pouring rain. Just watching the fans jumping up and down, I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me. Not only was that going to be my game but but it was going to be my life.
Shannon Sharpe
Listen to San Diego FC behind the flow now on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. So in the fourth year he thought he knew more football than Jimmy. Now see Jimmy. See what Jimmy could do. Jimmy was coming from college at the U. So all these guys that's coming out, guess who knew him because he tried to recruit him at the U. Yeah, see Jerry think because somebody handed him a piece of paper that they've done all the work for. See Jerry's that guy that does no part of the project but he gets an 8. You ain't do nothing. You just happen to own the team. You did nothing. Jimmy the Scouts, the evaluators, they did all the work. It burned him. It burned him that Jimmy got the credit. Everybody gave Jimmy the credit, and he wanted Jimmy to toast him.
Chad Johnson
That's a tough spot to be in for a player, huh? It has to be. Just to hear that from your owner has to be a tough spot to be in. You know, he's running it. It's supposed to be a football team. It's supposed to be an organization. But you're running it like. I'm not going to say the P word. You running, like, the P word, Ocho.
Shannon Sharpe
As long you saw Django. Yes, you saw Django.
Chad Johnson
Okay. Okay. You see where I'm going? Yeah. Okay. You running. You running it like that.
Shannon Sharpe
You don't say. You don't.
Chad Johnson
You don't say that about the players that you paying. You don't complain, oh, I made the quarterback the highest state because you fucking waited to pay him. You waited to the last minute, and.
Shannon Sharpe
You waited to the last minute you would got Michael Parsons on the fifth year option. So you waited till the last minute. He said it. And I used to say this all the time. I am not going to give you. I would give you a discount if you signed me with a couple of years left because now you giving me guaranteed money. I'm not giving you a discount if you make me get to the punctuation. VN. No, bro, I got to get maximum dollar out of you, max value. But see, here's the thing, Ocho. I know who Jerry is. And as long as they know who Jerry is, they should never have a problem with it. He applauds what you do, not who you are. It's transactional to him. You can provide a service, a damn good one. He gonna pat you on the back. But if you think it's anything more than that, you're sadly mistaken. Sadly mistaken.
Chad Johnson
Hey, man, that's.
Shannon Sharpe
That's.
Chad Johnson
I. I ain't never heard nothing like that. Now, I know a lot of them think like that. One thing to think, but they actually.
Shannon Sharpe
Said beyond approach, bro. Listen. See, a lot of times people want to. They'll take what he says about them, but I listened to what he says about everything else and how he handles everything else. That told me a lot. Yeah. Oh, your toes are going to be on the line. Your hand's gonna be over the heart. Okay. Oh, oh, oh.
Chad Johnson
Doing that. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Okay. I see where we're going with this. Yeah. I see what y'. All. I see how you think.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, I mean, listen, it's Unfortunate.
Shannon Sharpe
It'll be you. I. I hate to try. Like I said, I know Michael Little. I like him a lot. Great personality. No, it's a representative. But I'm gonna be very, very disappointed if y' all don't rig. Jerry. Ass cross the codes. If y' all don't get at least 42, $43 million. If y' all don't get. If y' all don't get 10 million. If y' all don't get 5 million more than what T.J. watt got. T.J. got three years, 143 million. He got 108 guaranteed with one year. Oh, man. Y' all better get you all 115 million guaranteed, fully guaranteed. As a matter of fact, Jerry, since you've been nasty, I want a hundred of it at signing. I want 100 of my 115 and signing.
Chad Johnson
As soon as I sign the dotted line. I'm not even shaking hands.
Shannon Sharpe
Hey, I'm not. I'm happy to be a cowboy, but I'm more happy that I get to secure my family. This is generational wealth. My family, my dad, my brother. Hey, we good now?
Chad Johnson
Oh, that's crazy. Thought he really said that out loud.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah, but that's. Ocho, don't you like that? Don't you? I. Let me know where I stand with you. See, so far, too many times. Far too many times. I just need to know. See, that's the difference between the south and the North. And the south, they. You know, they don't like it. They tell you. Yeah, I don't like you, bubba. As opposed to hiding, Right.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
What do you think Michael actually reported the training camp today, despite the contract standoff? Should my. No. Should Michael trust Jerry Jones enough to report to camp? Yeah, I'm a report to camp. I'm a report to camp. I don't want to get no money back. I don't want to, but I just. Because they. They. They've tried to. That's another thing, Ocho. See. See what they put in there now? Hey, there's no forgiveness, though. It doubles. I mean, what does it start at? 15,000, 30,000? You missed 10. You missed 10, 15 days of practice. That's over a million dollars that the team can't forgive.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, but now that, you know, you go in there, you know you play the game.
Shannon Sharpe
Hey, I'm playing the name on the back of my jersey, if that name on the front. Because that's what you said to me.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, basically. Basically and not so many words. Yeah. That's crazy.
Shannon Sharpe
So, hey, Go do what you do, Michael. I hope Michael get 25 sacks and the 50 and the 40 million. You gonna pass 50 now? 50 mil, Micah. Hopefully you get a contract extension. What? What's Michael playing? What's his 50 option? 20. What? Because he's outside, he's the edge over here. DN24 me. Micah, all you do is that you pay your monthly expenses. Don't you buy nothing. Don't you buy a car. Don't you, hey, tell your mom and dad, hey, look here. There'll be no expenses going on. I'm gonna pay my rent. I'm gonna pay X, Y, and Z. I'm just gonna pay monthly expenses. I'm gonna sit tight because if this. You know what? Try to franchise me. Yeah. I'm not coming. I'm not signing no franchise tag. I'm not signing a franchise tag. Not gonna do it.
Chad Johnson
Hey, you think. You think you would play with him?
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah. You do realize. Here's the thing, Ocho. You didn't do it to me now, so you've made me run the gauntlet two years in the row. Oh, no, bro. I got to hit you over the head with a heavy hammer. Yes, absolutely.
Chad Johnson
If I'm Michael.
Shannon Sharpe
Yes. The price goes up 10% every year that you don't get this done. So right now it's 42 million. You don't say pay me this year. Guess What? It's a 10 increase. 46 million and plus another 10 on the. On the signing, on the guaranteed money.
Chad Johnson
I don't.
Shannon Sharpe
I don't. Is he.
Chad Johnson
Does he purposely.
Shannon Sharpe
What.
Chad Johnson
What is the method. You did it with CD Lamb. You did it with that. You did Dicky Elliott. What's the.
Shannon Sharpe
Because he's purpose. The last minute he's thinking they're going to give him a discount. I'm not giving you a discount. When you making me run to the last year of the contract, Ocho? I'm not. See, he thought that would give him a discount like Wentz and Golf gave their teams discounts. But those teams, they were first and second overall pick. They got huge. Their total contract was guaranteed. They got 35 million. They got 32 million fully guaranteed. Right? I don't know what that. That was a fourth round pick. So I don't really know what those numbers are. Then three years into the deal, they give a new contract. That is what they did with that. So, Ocho, I've already gotten 32, $33 billion guaranteed, plus you come to me early. Okay, I'll give you a little discount. I'LL help you. I help the salary cap.
Chad Johnson
Right. Understandable.
Shannon Sharpe
I'm not giving you a discount when I'm that low of a draft pick. My first contract, that first one, I'm trying to split your dome. Oh, yes, absolutely. Now, I might give you one, the second one, but that's my choosing. No, you say, oh, oh, you know, you tell me that's, you know, football business and let football people do football things. Well, I'm gonna let y' all handle that salary cap. So my job is not to try to help y' all manage all salary cap. I'm trying to extract because I care just about as much as winning as you do. Jerry Jones has shown you over the last 30 years he doesn't care about winning. So guess what? Me either. You care about making money, so do I. What's up, buddy? What's up? What's up? In Pro bowl tight end Kyle Pitt. Kyle, how you doing, bro?
Kyle Pitts
I'm doing good. How you doing?
Shannon Sharpe
It's Ocho and Joe ISO. Joe joining us tonight, man.
Kyle Pitts
Okay. Appreciate y' all having me on here. How y' all doing?
Shannon Sharpe
Definitely. I'm gonna get right into it. Michael Pennix Jr. Unprompted, not from the reporters, not by anybody encouraging the first thing out of his mouth. Hey, man, y' all saw kp. They're gonna be a lot more of that today. What? What, what? What happened today for people that weren't at camp that didn't get an opportunity to see what has happened. Michael Pennis Jr. So excited that he started off his press conference mentioning Kyle Pitts.
Kyle Pitts
Obviously, it's day one, his first day camp. You know, the emotions is high. We had a pretty good day as an offense just gelling and moving the ball down the field. And, you know, as a tight end, it's always great to be a safety blanket for these quarterbacks to be somebody he relies on. So for him to have that confidence in me is amazing.
Shannon Sharpe
Go ahead, Ocho.
Chad Johnson
No, I was going to say I hope Zach Robinson, right? That is officer coordinator. Yes.
Kyle Pitts
Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, listen, I'm hoping Zach Robinson can get back to putting you. Well, obviously, I don't think he was there. He was there your rookie year. But get you back to doing what you do best, understanding what you did in Florida that you can still do in the NFL. There are so many mismatches that you can create based on what you can do and your unique skill set. When we talk about the Titans in NFL top five, you're supposed to be in that conversation based on what you could do after rookie season, you had a thousand yards, obviously due to injury. There have been some minor setbacks. But this is a year for you to get back to what you're known for, and that's being a stellar playmaker regardless of what's around you, regardless of who's in front of you. And I'm hoping brother Robinson does everything he can to put you back in position to make the plays that I know you can make, because not only is it going to help you and build your confidence, but it's going to make brother Michael Penning Jr also build his confidence and be that quarterback number one that the Falcons have been in search of since Matt Ryan's been gone.
Shannon Sharpe
Sure, sure. When I How difficult is it? You have the outstanding rookie year, as OO mentioned, over a thousand yards. There hadn't been very many tight ends to come in as a rookie and get a thousand yards. Now you get that. So the expectations are through the roof because, you know, you're high draft pick and you come out like gangbusters. And then injuries, then quarterback turnover. How difficult is it to take stay positive when your quarterback. There's a quarterback carousel and the injuries start to mount.
Kyle Pitts
I mean, obviously everybody has a different path and I think mine is pretty unique. Just obviously it being my fifth year and it being my fifth quarterback, but I've learned something from everyone from Matt to Marcus to Desmond to Taylor, from Kurt. I mean everybody brings something special to the table and just to learn a lot. And now this be my first year of having someone from the previous year as a quarterback and you know, growing the continuity over the summer, working out together, getting those routes in. It's amazing to see it and you know, just to grow that relationship with him, just to, you know, work working this time during camp on the way to game one.
Shannon Sharpe
Kp. What's up, Rush? Go ahead, Joe. This is Joe, man.
Kyle Pitts
What's up, big dog? How you doing, man?
Shannon Sharpe
Chilling, chilling, chilling, chilling, man. What's your expectations on the Falcons this year, on the season, this upcoming season?
Kyle Pitts
First I want to go as far as expectations because we take it in, we about progression. You know, just first a healthy camp. Everybody get out of this healthy and then, you know, getting ready for week one and just trying to stack as many wins as we can because obviously Atlanta's a hard fan base. It's a, it's a city that is very passionate about their sports for sure. And just to be able to. We want to get back to, you know, having Mercedes been rocking, which we have Last year. But, you know, we have some different things, ups and bumps in the road, but right here that, you know, we, we're coming together and we all bought in as a second year system. So now, you know, we got the opportunity to take it to the next step.
Shannon Sharpe
Right? Okay. Hey, you go ahead. Ocho.
Chad Johnson
I want to say, would it be in your second year in this system, how comfortable are you with the offense where you don't have to think anymore, you can hear the play call, you go out there and you can just line up based on whatever you see in front of me. You can just go without having to think.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah, Very, very confident. And like I said, it's year two. We've been working in the summer just mentally and physically. So it's just, you know, so now we here in camp, we're not taking a step back. We just. Now we're just going against the defense and it'll be passed on next week and you know, going into joint practice and you know, into the preseason. So things like that is, is. Is big for us.
Shannon Sharpe
Kyle, having played the position that you played, and I don't know if people understand this, but when you injured, you are a move tight end, line you up outside the numbers, they'll put you in motion, they'll put you in the slot, you'll line up top, they'll put you in the backfield. But when you're injured, it's hard, man. I just want to get. Hey, I just want to get somewhere and just go all this back. I can't because I can't do it. And, and if, and. And you know, you know what? Like my body just is not giving me what I want. But because the fans have seen what you're capable of, they don't understand that body. The mind is willing, but the body just ain't able right now.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah, I mean, obviously Bump, everyone goes through injuries. Some people don't. But in my specific case, you know, having the knee and just different little, small, small dings is. Is. It's a. Just a testament of what's going to happen this year. And I'm excited for what's going to happen and how, you know, we're growing as an offense and how we're going to take that next step. So it's. So we got some games. Usually we're going to start week one with Tampa divisional game and, you know, go out there and try and get the first win and just keep building them and, you know, hopefully win our division and then, you know, taking it step by Step from there.
Chad Johnson
You know, I have one question. How much? I don't want to call it. I don't want to say power, but most of the time it's called power. To me, you know, when a player can go to an officer coordinator and go to a head coach and ask to do more, are you healthy enough or is your body back in a state where you can ask Coach Robinson, listen, I need you to put me in different positions to be able to make plays. Because if you. You put me out here at receiver, it's a mismatch, you know, if you put me in motion, you know, it's a mismatch. Is your body. Is the knee at a point now where you can do a multitude of things offensively to open up the play, and also for you, 100% and just.
Kyle Pitts
Mentally being able to play faster, because that's a big thing when you hear the plays, be able to break the huddle and play fast. So definitely, you know, being the best asset to this offense is the goal, because there's a bunch of playmakers on this offense, you know, Drake, Bijan, Mooney, Ray Ray. I mean, everybody could, you know, we can spread everybody out, and then, you know, you go nickel. Now we running it. We got, you know, Tyler, so we got the one two punches and just being able to definitely take that. Take that load, for sure.
Chad Johnson
I like it.
Shannon Sharpe
Did you hear, because of the injury, because of some lack of production, the. There was rumor swirling possibly Kyle Pitts might be on the move. How did you stay in the moment? How did you. Like, I'm here right now. If and when that were to arise, that I'm somewhere else, I'll deal with that then. But how did you stay present in the moment? Because people say, oh, I don't think it's hard, bro. You talking about me? You know, unless there's another Cow Pitts I don't know about. But in the meantime, you talking about Cal me, I'm cow Pittsburgh, and I hear all of this going on. How are you able to stay focused, stay present and says, you know what? If it happens, it happens. But in the meantime, I'm here.
Kyle Pitts
I mean, I'm. I'm very much deep in my face, so I know what God is playing for me. But most important is, like, you know, those people have a job, and fans are fans for a reason. They can't do what we do. So they know they don't really know me. You know, I know the player I am, and I know the bumps and the bruises and the different things we had to go through in these past couple years, but it's. You know, everybody had their time, and, you know, I feel like my mom was coming. Oh, yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Hey, K. Go ahead, Joe. Y' all open up here in Atlanta against Tampa.
Kyle Pitts
Yes, sir. Oh, man, I got to come. I might have to come check it out.
Chad Johnson
Let me go to the game with you, Joe.
Shannon Sharpe
I bet. Say less. Say less. Oh, what's up? What you trying to do, Joe?
Kyle Pitts
All right, all right, all right.
Shannon Sharpe
You can't.
Chad Johnson
You can't come to the game with us.
Kyle Pitts
That's crazy.
Chad Johnson
Hey, hey, Kyle. I'll be there, man. Don't worry about it. Hey, Joe. I'll be there.
Shannon Sharpe
Week one.
Chad Johnson
Week one, we in Atlanta, man.
Kyle Pitts
Y' all heard. Y' all make sure. Y' all good. Y' all in the house. Y'.
Shannon Sharpe
All.
Kyle Pitts
Y' all good. Everything set up. Come on, man.
Shannon Sharpe
Hey, man, I heard that thing be rocking. Okay. I ain't gonna lie to you now. Psa. I heard it be rocking. The food be banging. I mean, hey, they got this. You get. What is a. A hot dog. I don't need no Glizzes, so I gotta come up with something else. But you get a pretzel, a big, large soda, fries, and all the food is, like. Except alcohol is, like, all you could eat, like, a certain price.
Kyle Pitts
We got one of the best owners in the business, Mr. Bank.
Shannon Sharpe
Yes, yes.
Kyle Pitts
Absolutely great man. And he's an experience for everybody, and, you know, it's a great time. It's only one way to, you know, taste for yourself. You got to come see it, you know? So I'm like, yeah, we had to.
Shannon Sharpe
Get him to the bench.
Kyle Pitts
We got.
Shannon Sharpe
Let me ask you this, though. Does preseason count? Can I come to a preseason game n You. You won't even.
Kyle Pitts
You don't even like sitting there.
Chad Johnson
Hey, Kyle, I got. I got a question, right. Do you understand the seriousness which I've just learned, and I would. This is long after I'm done playing. You understand the seriousness between the Falcons and the Saints rivalry?
Kyle Pitts
At first, I. I didn't really. If I'm getting.
Chad Johnson
See, me, too.
Kyle Pitts
At first, I did, and I. And I didn't really understand that. The hatred. It's not like a dislike. It's a hatred.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah.
Kyle Pitts
And it's like, that's kind of like Georgia versus Florida. You know, that game. It don't matter if you dinged up. You find a way to get on that field. You know, that's. That's the. That's a rivalry game. It's going to be down to the last, you know, and thanks is a great team. And I feel like, you know, each year it's a fight, so to be able to go down. And Caesar's Dome is loud, too, you know, especially when we come into town. So it's like, you know, vice versa. When they come up here and they, you know, their fan base travels heavy and it's, you know, it's a very competitive game.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah. Kyle, let me ask you this. When. When you look at it, where the. Where you started, and now you see all these guys, they got the McBrides that come in, and they got the Hawkinsons, and they got the laportas, and they got all these guys and don't seemingly that. Whoa, whoa. What. What happened to. What happened to y'? All a. Y' all ain't talk about me no more. Y'.
Chad Johnson
All.
Shannon Sharpe
Y' all know I've been that boy. I've been him. I just been nicked up. So y' all just go look over me.
Kyle Pitts
That's okay.
Chad Johnson
Look.
Kyle Pitts
That's all right.
Shannon Sharpe
That's all right.
Kyle Pitts
You know, I would. It's not too many people who have perfect careers, you know, so. So, you know, when I get back on the map, other things are doing, then I got to do what I need to do first, though, right?
Shannon Sharpe
You said today that you're not paying attention to any outside noise. I don't read that rat poison. I don't get on Twitter, and I don't listen to the bots who can't come out here in 90 degree weather and come and do what I do. Expand on the rat poison, because that was Coach Sa. One of his favorite sayings. You get a little praise or you get some negativity and it festers.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Kill you. Yeah.
Kyle Pitts
Even though I didn't go to Alabama, that was something that. Just watching him and I had a couple buddies go to Alabama, that was something that, you know, they would say that he. He's big on. So I never really. Like I said, I don't read it because they can't come out there in the heat of the moment and hear a play call and game on the line, people screaming. You can't hear the snap count and go out there and perform. So it's like, I don't. I don't really value that at all. And you guys know, as athletes, they're. They're on the sidelines for a reason. They just, you know, they're invested because they betting them, you know, so it's like, we. We know what it is to go out there, run across that middle fourth quarter, catch that ball and move the stick. Right, Right.
Shannon Sharpe
But poor. Now, I don't know if this is true, but this is what's being reported. That. That be. You're being used. You. They see you more with the receiver group than with the tight end group.
Kyle Pitts
I don't know. I ain't there.
Shannon Sharpe
Like you said, I can't do what you do, Pierce, no more. I can't come out there at 90 degrees. Not, hey, not even with an umbrella and some. And some Gatorade. I can't be out there in that heat. Me and heat don't get along anymore. Not no more.
Kyle Pitts
Not no more. But you had your day when it was. It was your day. You had your 2A days, you know, left. We won't have those no more. We don't have those no more. But yeah, it's gonna be. It's a plan. Following behind Coach Morris and, you know what Raheem and, you know, Coach Z, Rob has definitely put together for me for this camp and just entering this year, it's big on just, you know, like I said, buying in and, you know, trusting what they have and, you know, it's. I would say hybrid. Won't say, you know, a specific position. Definitely want to be hybrid because the more you can do, the better you are.
Chad Johnson
I. I love it. I love it. I. I know. Listen, I'm predicting. I. I can do this. You ain't got to say nothing. I'm predicting 1300. I'm telling you. I'm telling you. I'm telling you what it's going to look like this year.
Kyle Pitts
So what's the. So what's the. What's the prize? We'll talk about it after we.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, yeah, just. Just call me. I got you.
Shannon Sharpe
I'm gonna put you on the spot. I'll put you on the spot. Give me your top five tight ends of all time. You studied position.
Kyle Pitts
You played the position.
Shannon Sharpe
And keep it a stack. Keep it a stack. If I ain't. If I ain't in the top five, I'm cool with that. I'm cool. Like you said, I'd have had my time. There was a time I was in the top five. If I'm not now, but I was 100.
Kyle Pitts
No, I. I never get into specific numbers because, you know, everybody be like, oh, you missing this person. It's really just who you kind of model your game at the. So, like, my five, in no specific order, would be definitely you, Tony G, Mike Dick, who was the start before? I would say Jason W is, is someone who I feel like in high school when I really started to learn about the tight end position and you know, he wasn't maybe like the fastest, but he knew how to beat you mentally so. Because I learned that from a guy named Lee Smith, who, you know, he may be older, but they're beats to the spot. But yeah, Tony G, you, Mike Dicker, Jason. And I'm gonna have to go give Travis's followers he the best doing it right now. He the best doing it between him and him and Georgia. 1A, like 1A, 1B runner, they definitely setting the precedent for how to play the position and how to win at that position. So it's definitely, you know, love watching them on film.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah. Watching you play, you kind of remind me of myself, the speed guy. We did a lot of our damage outside and in the slot. I ain't really trying to bang like that, but I had to butt block a little bit more than you had had to block. But I think Gates, you move gates wasn't that fast, but man, Gates knew how to get open and catch touchdown. I'm like, how does mofo get any touchdowns like this? That's what I couldn't understand.
Kyle Pitts
Smart. And that's what I'm saying. Like, you know me putting Whitten in my top five, I really had Gatesy in my top five. Cause that's who really, you know him in LA when he's playing with know Dan Thomas. So that was. I really was watching. When I was getting into watching, you know, different tight ends, I was like.
Shannon Sharpe
Man, how they, how they score all these, the. These touch how. How this man got 117 touchdown for a tight end. That's unheard of. Y' all gonna have to get on the ball if y'. All. Cuz that break is gonna be there a long time if somebody don't get on the ball. Pits. I'm. I'm sorry. You don't think nobody gonna get that the way they throwing that ball now. Tight ends don't score like that, man. That joker stayed with double team's an anomaly.
Kyle Pitts
I feel like that's. That's.
Shannon Sharpe
Yes, you had you.
Kyle Pitts
You had you. Some games in the red zone where you was get. You was hot. You had you some. A string of games where you, you 10 plus for sure.
Shannon Sharpe
But here's the thing. Think about. He had LT. I mean he went. LT went three years. LT had 69 touchdowns in three years. Do you. So they get. Yes. And so for A tight end. There have only been two tight ends that have over 100 TDS in a career. That's. That's a gonzo engage. So in, In a hundred and one hundred plus year history, 105, 106 year history, there are only two tight ends to put up those kind of numbers. Unless Hawkinson and, and Laporte, McBride and Kittle. You get piss, you get on the ball, man, it's hard to score down there because like you said, he could, he could score. I, I could never. I was a guy that get yards. You, I lead the game with 150, 160 yards with no touchdowns. Man, that joker have like 88 yards, three touchdowns. Right.
Kyle Pitts
Go that way.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, you got, you got to think, you got to remember Antonio Gay skill set too. Now they get down to that goal line, they get him out there wide.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Basketball background coming to play. Man, listen, his lateral movement, he move in short areas. His releases is like a damn receiver.
Shannon Sharpe
Yep. How long, how long? What was his career length? How long did he play on? I think he played 16. I think, I think G has got. He got 16 or 17 pits. I think he got 16.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah, I think it was, I think it was 16 because my coach, Tim Brewster was. He used to show me all his tape when I was coming out.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah, I think he was in, I think Brewster was in Denver too.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Okay. Yeah, 100. Was Wade Harmon there when you got there? Who was your position coach when you first got there?
Kyle Pitts
His name was Justin Peele.
Shannon Sharpe
Okay. Yeah, Justin Peele. That name sound familiar? I think he played.
Kyle Pitts
Yeah, he played here in Atlanta.
Shannon Sharpe
Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I thought that name sound familiar. You're 100% healthy. You're raring to go. Ocho tried to put some numbers on you. What is health, the precursor? Because I, I know you. Look, I don't want to put you on the spot and say, okay, give us a stand total where you say one hundred and twelve hundred yards. And this health is the precursor. And then everything else will fall into place after that. Is that how you're approaching it?
Kyle Pitts
Not at all. Well, you know, one, once I got back to, you know, last year, and then in this off season, feeling great, that's the last thing in my mind now. It's just like I say, playing fast, mentally, physically being able to get to my spot and, you know, being the best asset it is.

When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier and we watched Paraguay against Chile. Pouring rain. Just watching the fans jumping up and down, I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me. Not only was that going to be my game, but it was going to be my life.
Shannon Sharpe

Kyle Pitts
For Mike. So when I do, when I do get my opportunities and first, you know, first, second down, third down, ball come my way, we moving and change, we're getting yak. That's, that's the big thing. Yeah. And you know, putting that shoulder down, get across that goal line, get it, Move this. Move the chains, you know, be more valuable for this offense.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, yeah, Uncle. You heard that. Rise up. Yeah, yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Yes. It's an experience in that thing, man. Y', all. You gotta go check them Falcons out, baby.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. So week one, we. We there in Tampa and then we in Atlanta.
Shannon Sharpe
Do you understand how hard it is, Joe? Like, when you trying to evaluate, like, what we do, we gonna have to talk about the game. What. So how we gonna talk about the games that we don't watch on television? If we had the Falcons game, you got a phone.
Chad Johnson
Use the phone.
Kyle Pitts
You got Twitter.
Shannon Sharpe
You can put all the games on your phone, bro. See, that's the thing, though. See? So how you. How you watching the Falcons game? If you looking at your phone, we.
Chad Johnson
Can just look at the tidbits. Look at the tidbits.
Shannon Sharpe
I. I see what I'm coming from. I see where he coming from.
Chad Johnson
Nah, nah. He just trying to get out of going to the game with us. What he doing?
Kyle Pitts
He. He gonna sneak in one of these games.
Shannon Sharpe
One of the games, prime time. I'm g. Call. I'm g. Have to call. I'm g. Have to call. Mr. Blank. I'm G. Have to go through the. The private tunnel, the secret tunnel.
Kyle Pitts
We'll make it work. I'm pretty sure he accommodation.
Shannon Sharpe
Kyle, man, thanks for joining us, man. We appreciate it. Stay healthy. This is the year. You got to stay healthy because, you know, this year, this your fifth year. You know what the fifth year mean? What comes after the fifth year they playing? Hey, KD got 19 million.
Kyle Pitts
Hello.
Shannon Sharpe
Hey, you could be the first 20 million dollar guy.
Chad Johnson
Make it 22.
Kyle Pitts
Hello. Hey, I like that.
Shannon Sharpe
Like that. I'm just saying. The first guy. Hey, the first with a two in front of it for a tight end. More than I made in my whole career. Damn. I might have to go back out there, Joe. Hey, keep your head down. Keep working, baby. Chopping wood. Let's go now.
Ryan Seacrest
Yes, sir.
Kyle Pitts
Brick by brick, baby.
Shannon Sharpe
And congratulations, man. Continue. Continue. Success. Stay healthy, man, and come back and join us after that first 200 yard game. Come back and join us and talk to her. Tell us about it.
Kyle Pitts
I got you. I'm gonna hold you to that.
Shannon Sharpe
All right, Bet.
Kyle Pitts
All right.
Shannon Sharpe
Guys. Just when you thought Cam and R.C. beef was dead, Gilly the kid hold my beer. Let's take a listen to what Gilly had to say in response to Cam. Criticism of Jalen hurts Cam Newton. I seen you came at me because I said Jill and Hurst did what you couldn't do that was win a Super Bowl. So you want to get all in your feelings. Man, shut your tight jean wearing ass up, man. You had on a jersey with a bow tie. You corny ass. Get out of here. You will never be able to with Jalen hurts. You super goofy corny ass. Get out of here. You. What you do you want mvp? Won a Super Bowl. Win the Super Bowl MVP and you hating on him? Cause he did what you could do with a Super bowl. And he been the two of them. So when you hating on him, just know you weren't better than him. You talk about, can you name one of my albums? You ain't got to be able to name one of my albums. Wrong with you. You in my space. You ain't bigger than me. In this space, you a low ass boy. In this space, your little ass boy. I could come sign you. Damn. Damn. Hey, anybody ever met Gilly besides me? Anybody ever met Gilly besides me?
Chad Johnson
Yeah, I met him. And I know Gilly.
Shannon Sharpe
We.
Chad Johnson
We done play basketball together.
Shannon Sharpe
He got that energy all the time. Yeah, he took that personal. Let me ask you, what. What y' all think about this? Ocho? Let me what y' all think about Gilly? Cam. We saw. We saw RC's response to Cam. We saw Gilly's response to Cam. Yeah, and we've already ar. Joe, you weren't here. What's your response? What? I'm gonna start with you first, Joe. Joe, what are you. What's your. What's your take on Gilly's response to Cam? I just thought it was too personal of a shot because we can talk trash back and forth, you know, it could be a good sparring session. But I just think when it get personal, bro, I think it kind of draws a line. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like, so. So I don't know if he took it personal when Cam said something about him dropping an album, and I think it just kind of no holds bars. He just. He just went. He, he. He went berserk after that.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
What you think, Ocho?
Chad Johnson
Listen, you got to understand that, Coach, you already know what time it is. You know, the AD meets the eye. You say the wrong thing, I'm gonna say the wrong thing. You say the right, I'm gonna say the right thing. Respect is earned. It's not given. Therefore, when you take shots, you have to be. You expect the other individual.
Shannon Sharpe
I'm coming back.
Chad Johnson
Something is coming back. That's the space that we live In Cam, he not gonna back down.
Shannon Sharpe
Gilly.
Chad Johnson
We've known Gilly for a very long time. What he does, he's not gonna back down. You say something, he gonna say something back. You say something to Cam, he gonna say something back. Ryan. I'm sure probably at some point he gonna respond. I'm assuming so. Or, or maybe not, because I'm assuming Ryan and, and Cam will probably have to see each other at some point, you know, on espn. But, but still, that is, that, is that, that's just one topic. It won't cause any feud in the work environment. Other than that, listen, it's entertainment at the end of the day, nothing will probably happen outside of those mics and in that space of podcasting. So I think, listen, it's a good jabbing war. It's like, it's a good jabbing war. May the best man win in that situation.
Shannon Sharpe
Yeah, I agree, I agree with both of you guys. I hate when it gets personal. You know, I hate when Cam, you know, Cam was a quarterback. Obviously his influence is going to be different than any other player on the field. Regardless where round was drafted, regardless of how many Pro Bowls. There's not any quarterback that's worth anything is going to have more value basically than anybody else. Cam was an mvp. Cam was an, a multiple time Pro bowl player. Yeah, Cam won the Heisman. Cam, his accolades speak for themselves. We don't know. We don't need to go off to list them. And, and, and, and, and, and for me, if Cam had just stuck like, look, this is what I'm saying. It's hard for me to evaluate Jalen hurts when he has so much talent around. I'm not saying that he's not talented, but it's easier for me to evaluate someone when they don't have as much talent, where they don't just have to turn around and hand the ball off and have Saquon hit his head on the goal post from 80 or he has a, or he has, you know, these two receivers. That's Pro bowl receivers or an offensive line. That's as good as that's ever been assembled.
Chad Johnson
Right?
Shannon Sharpe
Keep Ryan's accolades out of it. Ryan, keep Cam. Whether he did or did not jump on that football. Okay, we know that. We know Cam didn't jump on the football and he said it. If he could go back and do anything different in his playing career, that's the one thing that he would have done. So if we want to evaluate a, a player, evaluate the player says, all right, this, this is why? This is why everybody's not going to like your opinion.
Kyle Pitts
Right?
Shannon Sharpe
Because if you try, you can try to appease everybody. Ocho.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
And the one person that's going to be very disappointed and upset is you. Because when you try to appease everybody, the only person that's hurting and disappointed is you.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. You can't. You can't please everybody. You can't.
Shannon Sharpe
Or should you attempt to. No.
Chad Johnson
Hell no.
Shannon Sharpe
Gilly. I. Look, Gilly, my guy. I. I love Gilly. I love Wallet Wallow. You know, I talk to them brothers, and they good people, really are. Gilly, take things like, to the Eagles, like. And I've been. I've been in a very similar situation one time before, and it's probably one of the times that I regret something that, you know, you. You. Somebody says something about a team or a player that you like, and then you take it personal. You take personal shots at them, and then, you know, you have to realize, okay, that man's entitled to his opinion. Right? That's his opinion. Just because you feel passionate about this as a pro and he feels passionate about this as a negative, it doesn't make you more right than him, and it doesn't make him more right than you. That's his opinion. Right? I agree with you, Joe. I think when. When Kev, like, well, hey, bro, I can't name not one of your albums. I think that's why all gloves went out for Gilly G. Like, well, bro, who. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Right? That's why he said, you not bigger than me in this. Right, Right. And that's when it started to get real personal. You could tell. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I. I hate that. But we know it's gonna be. It's gonna be some back and forth, man. Jalen Hurst is a. Is a very polarizing figure because it's not like, you know, every other year. I mean, think about it. We had Doug Williams.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
Then we had a big lull, so we got 87. And then we had to go all the way to 2012 before we got another. So we had to go almost three decades before we got another black to win the Super Bowl.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Shannon Sharpe
At the quarterback. And then we got Mahomes, and now we got Jalen Hurts. So it's not like it's just littered. And so now it's like, you know, and I think maybe RC and maybe Gilly feel like, man, they being. They being unfairly criticized. Cause, excuse me. When. When. When Tom won his first super bowl, they applauded it and he threw for a buck 42. Yeah, but we trying to find ways. But that's, I mean, when you're an analyst, when you know your job is to critique and analyze. The only thing I will say about this, and I, and I, this is what I always never went to journalism school. I didn't go to Syracuse, I didn't go to Missouri. I didn't go to any one of these fancy journalism school. But this is what I do know. Never become part of the story. You see now, Cam Ryan are part of the Jalen Hurst store. This should be about Jalen Hurts. Yeah, but they've become a part of the story. You stay away from the story. You talk about it, you critique, you analyze, but you don't become a part of it.
Chad Johnson
But the critiquing and the analyzation is why they're part of the Jalen Hurst story.
Shannon Sharpe
No, you can do that. But see, now we're not talking about them. We're talking about what Cam and R.C. going back and forth. Oh yeah. Cam and Gilly, the kid going back and forth. Right?
Chad Johnson
I mean, okay, they gonna squash that. That ain't, that ain't nothing. That's all, that's all talk. They gonna squash it. It's not going anywhere outside of the space in which we're doing right now. And that, that's podcasting.
