Kansas beat California Baptist 6860 for about 35 minutes to look pretty easy for Kansas, which was up by 26 points on Cal Baptist before allowing the lead to shrink to six points. With a minute left, the Jayhawks buckled down in the skate with a 6860 victory. But it was not without unnecessary drama and questionable decisions down the stretch. Darren Peterson led all scores with 28 points, but vanished in the final minutes. Now Kansas will go face off against big, big east tournament champion St John's on Sunday. That's right, the dream, Bill Self, Rick Patino matchup is happening.

Yeah, I like, I like to see guys, when they get off the rough start, how they can contain a composure and stay in it and look and don't be gun shy, still be aggressive, still get into the bucket, still taking your normal shots. Because if I'm a scout, if I'm an NBA scout or, you know, you play, you plan on playing on the next level, that's what I want to see. Like your last shot, it can't affect the next shot. You feel what I'm saying? Like, you may have got off to a 1 to 6 shooting start, 1 to 7 shooting start. Hey, man, I want you to continue to be aggressive. Continue to be the player who you are, because confidence goes a long way. I thought, I thought he played, I thought he played great. Honestly. He didn't shoot great from the field. But I'm speaking from a mentality standpoint, like knowing that, you know, I'm him, I'm better than y' all out here.

Nah, nah. I, I thought those guys rallied around him though, because I, you know, I've seen Kansas play a couple times this year and they've had guys have big numbers outside of Dan Peterson, but tonight nobody really showed up, bro. Like, you know, he, he terrible.

The only thing that hurt California Baptist is that it was worth shooting the ball than, than Kansas because Kansas was 26 of 65 from the floor and, and Cal Baptist was 23 or 64. They were 417 from the three point line, 10 of 19 from the three.
