Celtics acquired Nikola Vucevich has people believing that Jason Tatum could return for a postseason run per Jake Fisher. Sources say the Celtics decision to acquire Nicola Boostovich from Chicago before the trade deadline in exchange for Anthony Simons expiring contract was a clear indicator that Boston believe Tatum will indeed return for a postseason Run. Joe, this is. This is your level of expertise. What you thinking?
D
I thought. I thought that quietly. Uncle Ocho, this was probably. This was probably the biggest acquisition during the trade deadline because Boston, not only do you know, they. They. They get a pretty good B who can pick and pop. You can play through him. He can pass. You know, he don't really have many weaknesses. He might be a little deficient when it comes to defense, but for the most part, he gonna be surrounded by guys where he can really flourish, and he gonna be a great. That's a great spot for them. Okay, Ocho, they were lacking in that. In that area. So to give up Simons and get Vucevich, man, listen, I don't know if Tatum. I'm still skeptical about him trying to come back. I'll be honest with y'.
A
All.
B
It's too. It's too early, Joe.
D
Well, it's an Achilles, man. Like, you gotta, like, before he get out there, he probably. He gonna been had to rev that thing up to really, really see. Y' all know how tender that is, man. And then now we talking about this playoff basketball from here on going forward, right? You gonna be playing at such a high level. It's like that's gonna be a lot of wear and tear real quick. So I don't know if it's really worth it, honestly. So they probably brought. They probably brought Big Fell over there, so he can help JB contribute offensively and see what type of run they can.
A
Yeah, I don't think they thought they would be with. With. With the injuries that they had. I think that's why they moved, because JT was going to be out. And so you see them break that team apart. They let Al Horford go. They traded Holiday and brought Simons in. They traded Chris Fingers. So they were probably looking at Ocho from a standpoint, like, you know what? There's going to be a down year. Let's get some relief. They sold a team, the New Orleans, like, yeah, get some relief because we ain't playing. Paying all this money to be out of the playoffs. And lo and behold, JB is playing like an mvp. Peyton Pritchard has been Sensational White. Derek White has been Derek White playing both ends of the court. And so guys are playing Housers coming off the bench and playing really well. So guys have played above what I. Maybe even Joe Missoula thought they could be in the Labor Day.
D
I agree, man.
A
Hold on.
D
I agree.
A
We might could. It ain't no foregone, Ain't no Invincibles over here on the eastern side. Yeah, yeah, the Knicks look good. Okay. Yeah, you know, Detroit, Toronto, Philly kind of been up and down, but it ain't no the. The Nick. Ain't no Invincible, ain't no. Oh, it ain't no 60 win teams over here. Right. So I think that's how they're looking at it.
D
Yeah, I'm with you on that. I think a lot of us didn't. We. I know I didn't have the Celtics in the. In the top of the East. You know, I thought Jalen Brown would still be an all Star, but I didn't think that they would be playing collectively as a team, playing this, this. This grade of basketball that they've been playing. They really surprised me, and I think they. They got a chance, bro. They got a chance. They got a shot. They got a shot.
A
Joe. The Cavaliers have won 10 of their last 11, including five straight. They're 34 and 21 now. What are you thinking, Joe? The Cavs back, you know, they made the trade for James Harden. You got Harden, you got Donovan Mitchell, you pairing with Evan Mobley, and what's the big kid with the fro? Jared Allen. You know, you got Merrow coming off shooting the ball really, really well. You like, you like the calves? Are the calves in play here, Joe?
D
No, I love it, Uncle Ocho. I love James Harden kind of orchestrating everything because he gonna make sure Donovan get off. So Donovan gonna give you 30, 35 a night. I'm talking about when we get to the playoffs, he gonna be able to orchestrate. He gonna be able to control the games, control the series. And the beneficiaries will be the Evan Mobleys, the Jared Allens, because he's a willing passer, Uncle Ocho, and he made guys around him better. You put him in a pick and roll with any of those two dudes, man, you bound to get something good. And then not on top of that, James wants to continue playing. He wants a new contract. So you gonna get the best out of him this second half of the season. This. You're gonna get the best James Harden you can possibly get. So.
B
Right.
D
I put the Cavs up there as well, man. They've been playing great basketball since he's been acquired to the team. I'm talking about he's been doing what he's always done, making big shots, getting guys involved, and, you know, just being James Harden. So I think it's not going. When you get to the playoffs, it's not going to be based on him to have these huge performance nights. Now. He'll. He'll, you know, he gonna win you a couple games in a playoff series, if not a series. But with all those dudes surrounding him, Cleveland gonna be something to reckon with.
A
And I like the fact, Joe, you have a Donovan Mitchell. And because James, you know, Kobe said that James Harden style, one guy dominating the ball is just. It's possible, it's impossible to win like that in the postseason. And I think with him, and you have Donovan Mitchell, you have another option. We know Donovan can go crazy in the play playoffs. We've seen. Yeah, he can go. He can go haywire. But if. If the thing is with James, if he could just be consistent, because we've seen him give you 51 game and then come back and give you nine the next game. And that's what they can't. Right? But if this kid Merrill keep shooting like he shot, he got to start off tonight seven or seven from the three and nine or nine from the floor. He keep playing like that. And with Donovan Mitchell, because you, like you said, Donovan's gonna give you somewhere between 28 and 32 on a nightly basis. You got the two rim protectors. They're gonna make it very hard inside. And you get hard and doing what he does. Yeah, they got.
D
They got a good chance. Them. Them bigs gotta be. They gotta be consistent too. You know, Jared Allen and Evan Mobley, when they get in the playoffs, they got to be dominant, man. They. They. They really got to be dominant. Because the deficiencies that you have in guarding the basketball out on the perimeter, they gotta be able to cover for some of that.
A
I think they can. I mean, we saw Jared Allen the other night. Good 40 and 16 against Portland. And you know, Evan Mobley was defensive player of the year, so we know he can protect and can defend Jared Allen. Look, you might dunk on him, but he gonna get you a couple of times now. He gonna block your shot.
D
Yeah, as a shot blocker, that's kind of known. You know, you gonna. You. You gonna get. You gonna get got, and you gonna.
A
Get a lot of people.
D
That's just part of the nature of it.

Kevin Kevin Durant spoke with Akeem Olajuwon about how much longer he wanted to play. Somebody asked me if I could play five more years. I'm like damn, that's a long time man. Five more years. I'm 37 that play, that play that long and kept his mental stamina and physical stamina to come in every day and want to get better. I mean you can't beat that.
D
It's inspiring.
A
You got to respect that. Joe and Ocho, how much longer do you think KD plays before he hangs it up?
B
Hey Joe and I think, I think he can play. He could play another five if he want to. Even at 37, you know, depending on, depending on the supporting cast around him. He don't got to have the ball in his hand. He can play off the ball, you know, I mean, he doesn't have to. What's the word I'm looking for? He doesn't have the pressure of having to lead a team depending on the situation he's in. He got enough young bulls around him over there in Houston. We could last. He could last another another five.
D
Yeah. So he don't have to take, he don't have to take so much of a beating.
A
His game is not physical like that. LeBron's game, I mean, for LeBron to play that long to Dom and you know, finishing at the rim and. Finishing at the rim and falling on the, on the floor, that's not Kevin Durant's game. Kevin Durant is a mid range. You can shoot the three. He's looking at 1, 2, 3, 1, 2 dribbles and pull up. So he's not playing physically. I mean it's obviously you're out there every night you play in 35, 37 minutes a night is demanding. But he's not playing the style of basketball that say. And he doesn't have to have the ball. He's not initiating the offense. So that's why. And my thing is, I think, you know, he can play another five years. The question is, I mean playing five years is one thing. Are you in championship contention those five years? And I think with, with I may being in Houston and with that team they got, I still think they need a point guard. It have been great if Van Fleet could have stayed healthy. But I love Shingoon, I love Thompson. Yeah. Kd obviously. So we'll. I don't think, I don't. I don't think they, they can come out of the west as currently.
D
You don't think they can come out the West.
A
I don't believe. I don't think.
D
I don't believe.
A
I don't believe they can beat. I don't believe they can be okc. I don't believe they can be Denver. I don't.
D
Man, Listen, with, with KD's body type, Arkin Ocho, I think, I definitely think he can play another five years. They call them, what they call them, the Slim Reaper. Yeah, I think he can definitely play another five years because his shooting is still gonna always be a premium. You know what I mean? Hey, look, in today's game. You can shoot that rock. You can play, bro. And with him being 6, 10, 6, 11, 7 foot, it's hard to guard that anyway, so. Yeah, you know, that's. That's gonna be tough.
A
But he's shooting from damn. He's shooting from damn to nine foot high. Hey, hey.
D
We call it that tall, man. Ain't but a couple guys got that tall man jump shot. They say Kevin Garnett, Rashid Wallace, Katie.
A
Yeah. Huh.
D
Ocho. But I think they got. I think they got a chance. But I think they, you know, they. They still tweaking some things because the. Amen Thompson, I think he's. I think he's pretty good. But yeah, when the playoff comes and it slows down him playing the one the entire time, that. That probably will bring some problems. But that's why I think the west going to be. It's going to be a dog fight every, like the first round to the second round, all the way up to the Western Conference finals, man, they going to beat each other up by the time whoever make it to.
A
But if you think about it, Joe, look at the Nuggets. Once they get back healthy with the. With Peyton Watson playing the way he's playing with Jamal Murray, Jokic is Jokic. Ain't nobody stopping him. You just go ahead and chalk it up, okay? Yo, get. You can get your 25 to 30 and your fit and your.
B
And.
A
And. And your 12 to 15 rebounds and your 12 to 15 assists. He's going to get that. Now you get playoff Jamal Murray, who's going to give you 25, and then you get Aaron Gordon. You never know which Aaron Gordon. He won him two games last year against. Against OKC and. But Watson, if you. Peyton Watson.
D
Yeah. Yeah. I think he. He's like. He like a wild card for them because he didn't kind of sprouted this year and he been balling Uncle Ocho, so, you know, for him to gain that confidence when. Yeah, when they get fully healthy. The thing is with Gordon, you don't know. I mean, y' all know, man, them hamstrings, they linger, bro. Yeah, he's an athlete. He's not just no standstill shooter, you know what I mean? So it plays a part to his game, but it's gonna be tough coming out there west, bro.
A
Ocho, you got yours.
B
What's up?
D
Huh? That's all.
B
Hey, man, I like that man upstairs.
A
Show some tea, man. They got the great beard. They got. They got the soul pat. Joe, they got my necklace.
D
Well, they got you Right.
A
See that check?
D
What you know about this soul patch, man?
A
They got your boy good man. My brother said, I like that. So I'm, I'm, I'm gonna send him one.
D
Yeah, that's what's up. Oo you get you one?
B
Yeah, I got one. I got my little soccer jersey on it. Oh, Joe, that's what. Hey, who, hey, who. Whoever. I'm not sure who exactly who drew it, but when they drew it, they were very detailed and meticulous on exactly the things that I, you know, I mean, my features and what I. What I always wear. It's pretty dope.
A
Hey, you only gotta got your boy hands.
D
Oh yeah. They ain't miss on them, boy.
A
Ah, man, they got the gray. They got the gray and everything. But I said, well, damn. I told him I showed it to my daughter. I said, that looked like. I said, that looked like me. She told me she got laughing about. Yeah, but I do, I think Kevin, I think Kevin Durant, I mean, I think Kevin Durant, he definitely can play five more years. I think a blessing in disguise was, is that he got hurt and missed that time, Joe.
D
Yeah, yeah. Talking about when he was playing in Brooklyn.
A
Yeah, well, you know, when he, when he left Golden State, he took a whole year off.
D
Oh, yeah.
A
And then he got hurt. He got hurt. Was it in Phoenix? He got hurt. You think he missed like 20 games? And that helps in the long run?
D
Yeah, yeah.
A
KD has shown no fall off. He's averaging 25.9. So he's averaging 26 points a game, five rebounds a game, four assists a game.
D
And he's efficient. What are you shooting from the field?
A
Probably 50.
D
He gotta be. Yeah, yeah, like that's a premium, bro.

Former Eagles OC Kevin Petula will be heading to Miami to join the Dolphins as their teams passing game coordinator. Petula spent five seasons with the Eagles, four as passing game coordinator and was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2025. Ocho your guppies hired Petula as the passing game coordinator. Eagles couldn't throw the ball. They couldn't get AJ the ball. So how. What are you gonna do for them?
B
I. I don't. I don't know. I don't know what he's gonna do. I'm. He's a passing game coordinator.
A
I couldn't tell.
B
Not the off of the coordinator. Therefore it's not going to be his offense. Who the hell we have at quarterback.
D
That's what I'm gonna say.
A
Who?
B
Yeah, who the hell we have at quarterback? I don't care nothing about Petullo being the passing game coordinator. Who is going to be the quarterback going forward so we can compete in the, in, in the AFC East. That's all I want to know.
A
Compete with who in the AFC East?
B
The Bills.
A
What you mean? Hold up. You think the Guppies are going to compete with the Bills and the Patriots?
B
Why you being.
A
I'm just asking, you know, for clarification.
B
We need it. We need it. We need a quarterback to compete in the asc.
A
The only way y' all can compete. And Josh a 23 year old Dan Marino. That's the only way y' all competing.
B
See that, that's real disrespectful, man.
A
You know the Guppies. You all don't let the Patriots retool.
B
Yeah, well, we. Hey, we, we retooling right now. We retooling.
A
Well, give us, give us a bunch of y' all monkey wrench. Y' all ain't got a whole lot in your toolbox. You talk about y' all retooling.
B
Hey, listen, you, you right about that. You right about that. But we gotta start somewhere. And what we need to start at is the goddamn quarterback position. We need to answer that question before we could do anything else.
D
So what they gonna do?
A
White.
D
White to a contract away.
A
Trade? They try to get up off too.
B
Yeah, you're trying to. They gonna take a 90.99point. What something mean cap it. They're not. They not. They not tripping. They're not tripping.
A
That must be. That, that must be real nice. Like you said, you take 100 million dollar cap here. Talking about. We ain't tripping.
B
They not.
A
They not. Because I mean, look, if you just write that off, that's that bad. That's a tax. That's a tax break.
B
Yeah, yeah, that's. That's crazy, man. But yeah, that's crazy. Hey, hey, hey. Don't, don't, don't, don't. I'm telling you now, depending on who we get at the quarterback position, I'm gonna tell you who the dark horse is coming up this season, man. It might be the Dolphins.
D
Nah.
B
Yeah. Cause y' all let, you let. Y' all laughed at me when I said it was going to be the Bears and the Panthers and look what happened.
A
Like you told me, broke clock right twice a day. So you was right twice last year. But we ain't gonna Talk about your. We ain't gonna talk about your bungles.
B
My who?
D
Yeah.
B
Oh, wait a minute. Watch what we do in the off season, though. Watch what we do in the draft. Watch. Watch what we get on the defensive side of the ball. Watch.
A
Oh, y' all want Max Crosby or Jeffrey Simmons, huh? Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
B
I mean, I would love. Hey, listen, listen. I would love that. I would love if.
D
If, you know, I was coming to the Cowboys. What you talking about?
B
In a perfect world, we get Jeffrey Simmons. Who going to the Cowboys.
D
Crosby.
B
We'll get. Give, give the rate. Give. Give the rate is George Pickens.
D
We might be able to do something. Ojo.
B
Okay. I mean, that's, that's an even swap because everybody. Cowboys fans. I love Cowboys fans. I love y'.
D
All.
B
I love y'.
A
All.
B
But I'm just saying, you guys are. Are. Are so hung up on having George Pickens stay when you have so many, so many questions that need answers defensively, you know?
A
Yeah, I would.
B
I, I would. I mean, I would. Pickins to the Raiders getting Mac Crosby. Understand what you can get for Max, making that defense that much better, solidifying one position and having an impact player and continue on putting pieces around him so you can compete instead of having CD Lamb and George Pickens and an all world offense that can score 41, 41 points, but the other team going to score 45.
A
Sound like somebody else. Somebody else team. You know how Ocho it sounds like another team that he should be very familiar with that got two superstar wide receivers, a superstar quarterback, but can't stop nobody.
D
You hear me? I'm saying. But he can't. He can't wait to break up Lamb and Pickens, but you go over to the bank. Oh, man, he get.
B
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. This is a different situation. This is different. They both came into Cincinnati together. George Pickens was coming from the Steelers. So there's. It's a little different. I, I. Listen, I just want Young Bull to get what he deserves. I know.
A
He came in with Joe, didn't he?
B
They both went. They came from the same team.
A
No, I'm saying I think he. No, but didn't T come in with Joe. Joe was the first round pick. T was the second round pick. I don't think T and Chase came in together.
B
I didn't say they came in together. I said they came to the same team.
A
Okay.
B
It's not like he came from somewhere else. That's all I'm saying.
A
Oh, but, but still. But you want to Keep them together.
B
You. So, y'. All. You're not gonna listen?
A
I'm listening to what you said. I'm saying. You said you want. You want to keep. You want to keep T. The.
B
The Cat. The Cowboys need help on.
A
Y' all need help on defense, right?
B
We gonna be all right because I told you. I talked. I talked to ownership. I talked to ownership. I already know what we gonna do in the draft. If he's available. If he's available. And we gonna get. We gonna get. Listen, everything defense this year, everything y' all going for.
D
Big boy from Miami.
B
You talk about Bane? Yeah, I don't think he gonna be there. He definitely. He definitely ain't gonna be there.
A
Y' all picking pretty high.
B
He might be there.
A
It's not like y' all in the twenties. Y' all ain't picking in the twenties. Y' all picking really high. Y' all in the top 10 or the top 12 for sure.
B
We. We picking team.
A
Yeah, exactly. So, yeah, there's a chance he'll be there.
B
Hey, none of them. None of them gonna be there. Caleb Downs. Bane ain't gonna be there. They gone.
A
Y' all need more than that.
B
I know. I'm just saying.
A
I.
B
What about your team?
A
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
B
What about your team?
A
Beat your team.
B
We all went home at the same time.
A
We played in the AFC Championship.
B
We all went home at the same quarterback.
A
We was a quarterback away. But I'd have been more disappointed had we had the quarterback get to the super bowl and got beat. So it worked out how it's supposed to.
B
That's fine.
A
I'm just trying to figure out how Kevin Petula get another job. And ain't nobody even mentioned Byron Leftwich.
B
You know how, right? You know how we've had this con. We've had this conversation many a time.
A
What Byron left which need to do. He ain't slapped nobody. Oho. There's a clip going around that the staff wants us to watch. Let's take a listen to this. Oo. Enjoy and let us know what you think. I do have one complaint about BG in the room.
D
Let's go.
A
He got fined a lot. Biggest thing in the room where if you. If you pass gas. I mean, this is a notorious thing. And it's like it was.
B
Is.
C
I mean, he.
A
He spent a lot of money on that room.
C
I have heard less of this.
A
Later in your career, did you change.
C

A
Like, look different.
B
Yeah, man, it was. I.
C
It had to.
B
It had to change if I wanted to stay playing, because you can't just.
A
You get away with it as a young guy.
B
But, you know, did this affect the.
C
The smell as well?
B
It do.
A
It really do, man. It's.
B
It depends, though, because some smoothies that you do.
A
What kind of fines are we talking about?
B
Can get you 500 farts?
C
What?
A
I mean, you're in the room all day with 12 or whatever it is, and we learned about the fines, right?
C
That's expensive gas, bj.
B
It's some expensive gas.
C
The price of gas is going up.
B
Oh, man.
A
Thank you. That would happen. That would have. That didn't happen in my. In. In the tight end room. That didn't happen in the office? No, sir. Absolutely not. You crazy.
D
Yeah.
B
You don't play that.
A
Absolutely.
D
Now, dude.
A
Just.
D
Just sitting there passing gas, Ocho.
A
Nasty. Get your ass up. Go to the bathroom.
B
Yeah, Joe. I ain't never had them. I ain't never had no problem like that, Joe.
D
Yeah, no, I'm saying I ain't never dealt with it neither, but I can imagine what that's like. Like.
A
Come on, bro.
B
Yeah, somebody. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We never had that in the receiver room.
A
No, no, that wasn't happening.
B
Maybe the lineman, probably the lime.
A
You know, the line, the master rascal. Yeah, yeah. They. They come straight out the field and go fix the plate. Oh, no. Now, you always got to beat the office alignment.
B
The food, you got to. You got to.
D
Hey, hey, but you see, you. You heard what he said? He said, man, look, he had to switch up his diet because when you get older, you can't eat them zuzus. And when whams you was eating at 23 and 24 years old, thinking you finna go out here competing, bro. Yeah, it just ain't gonna happen.
A
Oh, but hold on. Wait a minute. Oh, Ocho, you remember how the chat was getting on me When I say, oh, you. Your girl can't pass gas. What? I mean, just natural. Passing gas is natural.
B
No, that's different. I got on. I got on to you about that.
A
How they different?
B
I mean. I mean, your girl. Your girl, she. She. That's not passing gas. Your women poop.
D
Hold on. So y' all cool?
A
We from the South, Joe. We don't get, like, Joe out.
B
Joe, your girl. Your girl can't poop around you.
D
Oh, Joe.
A
Thank you, Joe. Thank you, Joe.
D
Come on.
B
Hey, y' all tripping, man. Hey, Joe. And uncle, you can't make your woman uncomfortable.
A
She comfortable.
B
She can't get up and go to the rest.
D
That's just. That's. That's respect.
A
That's disrespect. Off dumb.
B
Oh, here y' all go.
D
I ain't never had to tell no girl I've ever dated.
A
Look, man, you don't need to be doing that. Thank you, Joe. Thank you. Nah.
B
Hey, hey, listen, if you got to go, why do you want your woman's stomach hurting? Because she got a hole in it.
A
She got a hole in. Go to the bathroom.
B
You man.
A
Yeah, Bathroom. Find one, blow it up. You'll be like Professor Clump you. Hey, my club daddy was at the table. I call your name, if your name. Have at it. But you're not gonna do that around me.
B
Hey, hey, hey, hey. You know what? I honestly like, all jokes aside, I can't believe y', all, man. I can't believe y'.
A
All.
B
Y' all would have a woman hold her stomach, make her stomach hurt simply because she's scared to poot around.
A
The bathrooms. You got. You got about seven, eight bathrooms, right, Joe?
B
And what if you're in the car driving. What if you're in the car driving somewhere and she. And she.
A
And, you know, hey, I'll stop at the gas station.
D
And, you know, women are a lot more strategic when it comes to, like, food and eating them.
A
They already know.
B
Yeah.
A
Oh, this gonna. This gonna. Cause my stomach.
D
Yeah, I can't. Yeah, I can't eat this because they're gonna have my stomach. Yeah.
A
Thank you. This is what I've been waiting for.
B
Y'.
A
All.
B
Y' all two. Y' all two. The only two.
D
I think, man, please.
B
I. I think it's disrespectful to tell her. Listen, if you're around me, if we're together, we're out in the car or whatever we're doing, you cannot pass gas around.
D
Ain't never.
A
Thank you, Joe. Thank you. Thank you, Joe.
B
You never had to say that.
D
I ain't never had. I ain't never had to tell no girl that. Ocho that just come and cur.
B
No comment courtesy. Girl, if you got the poo poo. I don't care nothing about that.
A
Look, it better.
D
It better be silent and not deadly. But you think you just gonna be. You know what I mean? Just. Just around me, just passing gas.
A
Come on, bro. Thank you, Joe. Thank you. All that. All that. That pass again.
D
Come on.
B
Joe. On my mama rest in pee, Joe. I don't care Nothing about that. That's fine. Girl, if you got to go let.
A
It out in one of them bathrooms.
B
Smell like.
A
Don'T go in mine. The master bathroom is mine. That's my throne.
B
You see? You see him? He also unc. Say she can't take a number two in his bathroom. Listen, if you deal with me, I like the whole. Some of the better conversations. We in a relationship, Joe. They're hell when a woman is using the bathroom.
D
Oh, listen, listen, listen. Women are pretty discreet with that. Thank you, fellas. They not just gonna be. I'm saying. Ocho, come on now.
A
I don't know who they may.
B
Hey, hey, Joe, you ain't never. Joe, you ain't never had no conversation with your girl when she used in the bathroom?
D
Man, Ocho, I'm gonna be honest. I have. And it wasn't.
A
Thank you.
D
It wasn't. It wasn't like, you know, it was because it was something needed to be. Something had to be talked about. But I wasn't just going in there like, you know what I mean?
A
No, I didn't say go in there. I have not. I have not. I put that on Mary Porter and my kids. I am not talking to you while you in the bathroom. Whatever you want to discuss, it will. Hey, ain't nothing could get done before you get out of there. So we good. Joe, I told Ocho I stopped talking to a girl. Cause she did that. Did what?
D
She put it around you.
A
She was in the bathroom. She wouldn't use the bathroom. She had to pee. She got back to the door, stepped foot and passed gas.
B
Hey, hey, hey. That's romantic.
A
You sure? It was.
D
It was the right game.
A
I tell you what I did. I never called again, and I changed my number.
B
Uncle, you petty man.
A
No, you're nothing to do that. You're not. No, I don't play like that. I don't. I don't.
B
That's human nature.
A
It is, but I, I. Maybe it's just because the way I was raised up, I was raised around my grandmother. And I'm very respectful of people like that. I don't do that.
D
Yeah.
A
Hey, when I go. Any woman that's ever dealt with me, when I go to the bathroom to pee, I cut the water on. I don't. I don't want to. I don't want to hear you pee. I don't want to hear myself. I don't even want to hear myself.
B
Hey, you got you. Hey. Hey, Joe. Uncle's alive, but he ain't living. He ain't living.
A
Well, I ain't gonna live. Ain't nobody, Ain't nobody finna be dropping no bombs, no stinky load around me. No. Okay.
D
Hey, look, them stinking low. I'm with, I'm with Uncle N. I, I, I ain't.
A
Hey, I, I get ready to go on my throne, and you done smash the pumpkin in the toilet. Oh, hell no.
B
Hey, okay, okay. Hey. Hey, Joe. Hey, you should have heard Unc. Hey, you heard Unc the other night. He talk about when you in the shower. Talk about he will get out the shower, track all the water on the floor, and just to go pee in the goddamn drain right there.
A
I pee before I get in the shower. That's why I don't have my water. Because, see, my. My kidney's bad, you know, my bladder weak, so I can't use too hard water because it make me go to the bathroom. So I got, you know, the water somewhat lukewarm. No, I, I don't do that. I don't do that.
D
Yeah, normally, normally, normally when that water touch your hands or touch your body, you, you, you, you pretty much got to go. I ain't gonna lie. I gonna let it ride in the shower.
B
Thank you. Thank you.
D
I ain't gonna lie. They're going down drain. Ain't like I'm.
A
I'm wheezing around the whole. I'm straightening the drain.
D
Yeah.
A
All I told you I know is that the women that I've dealt with, they're very respectful, and I appreciate that. I appreciate them by the same. I don't. I don't go around them. I don't burn. I1 women can't tell me. As a matter of fact, I don't, I don't. Ocho. When I. I'll be like, I don't burp around no woman. I don't go to no bathroom around no woman. Like I said, I've gone back to fox. I've gone to. I've gone. I've gone somewhere. No, I sent them on. Hey, you know what I need? Can you go to the store and get something for me? Like what you need just to use the bathroom? Yes.
B
Hey, you doing that.
A
You're doing too much.
D
Too much.
A
You know? Now if you really want me to get upset, I hate when they don't flush the toilet. They pee and got paper flush it.
D
Hold on. You saying they leave the pee in the toilet?
A
Oh, I forgot. Come on. How you forget? You. All you. Hey, all you do is right on the top, man.
B
Look, hey, you know what? I don't like, Joe. You know what? I could be honest. You know what I don't like is toilet tissue. Right? I'm confused on why the toilet tissue is always in the garbage can, wrapped up, curled up. You know what I'm talking about?
A
They probably got the feminine product in there. Ocho, you can't flush that. Oh, that's what it is.
B
Okay.
A
Oh, that's what?
B
The little red. Okay. Okay.
D
You said that's the little one.
B
The little Red. Little red. Okay, I got it. Yeah, I got it. I got it.
A
Oh, no, man. Y', all, look, I. I think this is. This is a generational thing, Joe. I really do. And I also think it's a Southern thing. Cause these is on. Y' all have at it. Like I said. Maybe. Maybe it's just the way. Hey, Mary. Mary and Barney raised us. That's just.
B
Hey, you. You. You need.
A
You need.
B
You. You need. We got. We gotta.
A
Ocho, but we gotta.
B
Look, we gotta break. We gotta break you out of this. We gotta break you out of this.
A
No, no, no, no. Yeah, because, look, you gotta. You got a better chance of me eating a cookie from the back. What kind of cook than being able to be able to pass gas around me?
B
Hey, hey, Joe. Hey, Joe, you see how he talking, right?
D
Yeah.
B
I'm gonna get him. I'm getting. I'm gonna have him suck on. Yeah, yeah.
A
He ease into nothing.
D
He goes straight to. He goes straight over the top.
B
Hey, Joe, we. We over 30 years old. Easing the. What?
A
First of all, I made the age that old people at. I'm at that age, right?
B
Okay. It's about that time. If you pushing 60. I mean, listen, we. We on top of the hill. We on the way down the hill. It's time for us to start doing things we've never done before.
A
Nah, I'm good.
B
Yeah, no, I know you're not good.
A
Nah.
B
Hey, I want you to go. Go get your extra shower curtain from Target or Walmart.
A
I don't think. Don't. None of my. Don't know. I think all mine have, like, either you got the tub and the shower, you know I don't have a curtain. Man, I hated that. I remember the first time I got an apartment, and, man, I couldn't take no shower. The curtain, stick it to me. I was like, God, Joe, man, I try to take a shower. The kiss all over. Hey, you got.
D
You got the shower curtain in the tub. You gotta put the shower curtain on the outside of the tub.
A
So I put the shower curtain Outside the tub and stepped out like they broke my neck. Feet up in the air.
D
Cause it's wet.
B
Hey, hell no.
A
Man. Nah, man, I just. Like I said, man, look, I just. Like I said, I have some experience. I think the thing is, Joe, I just like when you. When you grow up washing in a tub. Foot tub, number 210 tub. I don't know what y' all call. What y' all call. Y' all call a wash tub. The tin tub, Joe.
D
You call them a job.
A
So you had. You had a foot tub, which is a little round, and then you have a number two. You had a number two 10 tub, which was the bigger.
D
Oh, okay.
A
The bigger ones.
D
Yeah.
A
So you know when you take a shot, you know, like, man, I just like, Lord, I don't really a whole lot of life, but just let me have some running water and some. And some. Some. Some air conditioner, and I'm good. Yeah, I don't care what the house look like, but I just want to running water and I want an air conditioner. So now I got that. And hey, and plus the thing. I think the thing is, Ocho, like, you got to realize I had to go to the woods so I'd be way over there. Spanking me way over there. We couldn't pass no gas or not. What, man, Papa Granny would have killed. What?
D
Hey, that's a different time, Ocho. Okay, listen.
A
He.
D
He.
A
He.
B
I'm still living like he in the 40s and 50s, man.
D
Joe, I'm saying. O. Joe, I'm saying you just walk around the house, just passing gas. You just don't.
B
Me?
A
Yeah, I mean.
B
I mean. No, I see. Hey, Joe, I don't do it like that. It's not like that. I'm just saying in general, like, if I got to go, it's okay if you date.
C
If.
B
If you. If we together and you date me.
A
Man, I get up and go to the bathroom.
B
Listen, whatever you got to do. I got baby wipes in there. Make sure, you know, you do what's necessary. So it ain't. I. I don't want no crumbs.
A
I want no turtle heads not to have that baby.
B
Oh, yeah, yeah, you got. Yeah. Get. Get yourself together, man. I ain't got no problem with none of that. Joe, if you gotta. I love having Joe. I swear for God, the best conversations, those deep conversations that. That most of the time, women like to have that sometimes it make you uncomfortable to have or had when they're using the restroom or when I'm using The restroom. I have my best conversations like that, Joe.
D
Yeah.
B
Hey, maybe it's me. I don't know.
A
I just say, hey, Shannon, can you give me some toilet paper? Keep the door closed. I'm gonna set it outside the door. Once I go back to where I am, you can open the door and grab it. Don't you open that door before I leave. Ocho, man, come on, Ocho. I don't even, I don't even walk around. I don't walk around my house without a shirt on. I don't walk around in front of. No, no.
B
What's the point of having all the muscles and having your shirt on in the house?
A
I don't understand, Ocho. I grew up with my aunts and I grew up with my grandmother. You grew up, you grown now it's embedded. Ask any women that dealt with me, have they seen Shannon walk around without a shirt on? I don't, Hey, I have on show. I, I, hey, we had to have on. Like I said, we, we were boys and you know, after we got a certain age, my grandma's like, boy, cover up. Okay?
B
Nah, man, hey, I'm, I'm like, I'm.
A
Like, yeah, I'll put you in the guest house. You why you ain't gonna be putting up in my house?
B
And, and nah, hey, man, I'm healthy. No, no, I just can't, I can't believe that, man. You don't take your shirt off. You wear, you where you wear your socks in the house. And I mean, she gotta close the dough and she can't ask for toilet tissue. I mean, like, come on, you got. It's too many rules, huh?
A
Ain't no rules too.
B
It's too many. Too many rules.
A
Ocho. Gene.
D
Critic.
A
Gene Simmons, you know Gene Simmons from kiss, Rocky. He criticized the Rock and Roll hall of Fame for inducting rap artists. The 75 year old Kiss bassist has some choice words about hip hop and his place in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. It's not my music. I don't come from the ghetto. It doesn't speak my language. I said in print many times, hip hop does not belong in the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, nor does opera, symphony orchestras. It's called the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. Damn, there are a lot of stuff you. So you think your music speak to everybody? Because, I mean, listen to talk. He thinks his music speaks to everybody. I don't know if there's any music that speaks to everybody, but that's the whole point. Yeah, it's almost saying, like, an opponent shouldn't be in the hall of Fame. Do they not play in the NFL, Right?
B
It's still music in general. Yeah. I mean, that, that's, that's unfortunate that he does feel that way. I, I would think someone like Mr. Simmons would. Would understand when certain artists, regardless of genre of music, reach a certain level of success and, and, and a catalog and in their resume speaks volumes to reach the pinnacle of being inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame. It would be respected regardless of whether it's rock and roll or not, whether it's hip hop, whether it's country, whatever it may be. And the fact that he feels that way, is.
A
It.
B
I mean, it kind of sucks a little bit. It kind of sucks. But.
A
Well, if they had. If they hadn't stole everything that we created, we have. But, you know, that's not. We have a conversation about that another date and time, but I guess he forgot about that. Well, you need to be ashamed. It's talking about he's not from the ghetto. So in other words, Ocho, half the people that listen to country ain't from the damn country.
B
Yeah, that is true. That, that, that is.
A
That's country don't speak to everybody. And it's okay.
B
Right?
A
I mean, I don't think he really. I mean, I guess I, I, you know, hopefully I live to get 75. But I think, I mean, people say some of the dumbest things, bro. You think, you think your music speaks to everybody. You think country or whatever, the opera or whatever the case may be, music, every genre of music doesn't speak to everybody. But just because that's. It doesn't speak to you, that doesn't mean it's not worthy for being in a place beside you.
D
Right? Right.
A
A lot of people, a lot of white people listen to hip hop and rap day from no damn ghetto.
D
Facts.
A
Only get all they know about what they see on TV or what they read about.
B
Yeah, yeah. Hey, what. What made him say this? What hip hop artist was inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of Fame? Or was this just a generic question he was asked?
A
He was asked. I mean, I would have. Twitter was quick to point out, is while white artists are directly influenced by black musicians and still managed to be racist, Gene Simmons took their entire Image from Patti LaBelle Rock group LaBelle Kiss Manager saw LaBelle's costume and asked the designer to create something similar. Copycat ass. I mean, you go back and look. Look at Little Richard. Go back and look at all. Look at all Those guys that was doing it before Elvis Presley.
B
Right?
A
But y'. All. Well, y' all don't really. Y' all really want to. Y' all really want to have your conversation. They.
B
There's a deep, long and rich history of who did it first. I'm. I'm not gonna make it that kind of show, but.
A
Install it and pretend like y' all came up with it. Black people created rock and roll. Just FYI. Just to put that. I just want to put that out there.
B
Yeah.
A
Well, we probably giving him too much legs anyway. But anyway, I just had to get that off my chair. Oh, Joe. Joe. It's time to play a fade presented by prize picks. Power play ahead of tomorrow's Lakers Mavs game. Deandre Ayton to have at least 13 points. Joe, what you thinking? Who they playing? Mavericks.
D

A

D

B

A

B
I've been traveling too.
A
You like to travel. I don't. What is it that you don't?
B
Well, you just said. You just said you was getting ready to go to the game, but you didn't hit me up and say, hey, you want to go to the game? I'm thinking about going on X, Y.

A
Shook for offensive rookie of the year. Hey, Big three. Hope y' all doing good. Ocho, thoughts on how close my Saints are playoffs? ISO, don't get me started on my Pelican. I still think they'll ways. I mean, look, if you win the division, I don't know if they're going to get more than one team out of that division. The Rams are going to be Good again. The 49ers are going to be good again. The Saints will be good again. Do we believe the Detroit will be better? Do we think Green Bay will. Green Bay, Chicago? I mean, all things being equal, you guys are probably like the 11th or 12th best team. That's being generous. I mean, all things being equal, Rams are better. Seahawks are better. Niners are better. Bears, packers, that's five. Lions, the Eagles. Do we think the Cowboys are better than the Saints?
D
Yep. Okay.
A
Enough. NFC South. Y' all in that division. So you got Carolina, which made it last year, Atlanta and Tampa. So with that being said, y' all probably like 10th, 11th or 12th. I think Philly is better. I think Philly are better than the Saints. I think the Cowboys are better than the Saints. The Bears, Green Bay and Detroit. The Rams, Seattle and the 49ers. Y' all are ways down. I'm talking. I'm sorry. Show for rookie of the year.
B
Woo.
A
Pig Suey. ISO, tell me about our Hogs, their potential this season, please. ISO. And my McFadden. Greatest haul. Good luck with the fame. People don't forgot. People done forgot. What you think about the Pigs.
D
Yeah.
A
Joe.
D
Hey.
A
Hey.
D
Unc and Ocho. We.
A
We.
D
We really. We got a real shot. I know we. We led by two freshmen, you know, Darius Acuff, who would definitely be a top 10 pick in this NBA's draft. Malik Thomas. But we got other guys surrounding guys, guys who've been in college for, you know, some time that able to help out their veteran leadership. For me, as. As a Razorback and as a fan, I love when Billy Richmond Jr. And Carter Knox, these are our wing guys, they forwards, they're defensive. The defensive minded the energy, the effort, the activity. It helps a lot when they're playing at the top of their game. Uncle Ocho flying around, blocking shots, playing great defense. We almost impossible to beat. We almost impossible to beat. So obviously, you know, we still got a little room left. You know, March Madden is going to be coming up here soon, but I expect us to be making a lot of noise in the sec, baby. Yes, sir. Ocho, I don't think we come down. I don't know if we come down to the ACC and play against your Hurricanes.
B
Miami. No.
D
Yeah, we might. We might. We might come down there and see y'.
A
All.
D
I don't know.
B
I don't think y' all want to do that.
D
Joe and please.
A
Thomas Dabney. 1. Shay, what happened to your eye? Don't tell me you got. You got caught by Zoe in the parking lot, too. What's wrong? My eye.
D
You got that red dot or. What happened? Man, I don't know.
A
I was sleep before I got on here. That's what I mean. I guess that's what it is. I was sleep. I don't know which one, this one or this one.
D
Like, not the other one. You got like a little red spot in the corner.
A
Rick Love. Oh, I love. He got caught by hella hands. What happened? Man? I was sleeping. Brian Mateo's same people who needed their own halftime show also needed their own water fountain. Just disappointed, man.
B
That was A good one.
A
J.J. carver, if the NBA allowed fighting, AD would be out of the league.
B
Hey, that's messed up, man.
A
But it was different. I mean, no, they had real tough guys. You go back and look at Kevin Willis, you look at Oak, you look at Mason, man, you look bad. Xavier McDaniel, Charles Smith. Yeah, I'm doing. Looking for a fight bark.
D
Bad.
A
Mahar Lampier. They had real bumpers.
D
Yeah, yeah. They got guys who. Hey, look, you know, they have guys they bring in. They bring in just for that action. We need to go in. We need you to go in there and cool that down right there. Tighten them up a little bit. Yeah, Ocho Ocho got it going. He out there popping it. He. Yeah. All right, we got something for you.
A
Won't go back down there either. To go.
D
Yeah.
A
I did a good job in stopping Ocho from reminiscing about his high school basketball days. He was about to be reminiscent about that Haitian in the car and how y' all had to fight that man. Now, Ocho. Ocho. That's one thing about Ocho Ocho, you know, hey, when somebody Done got the best of him. In that situation, he just chalk up his losses and just move it along. Ain't nothing. Ain't nothing to fight about. Nothing to fight about.
D
Tell them, Ocho. It's plenty of fish in the sea now.
B
Oh, wait. One thing about that. But I keep a fishing pole with me.
D
Yeah, yeah.
B
Hey, hey, Joe. Hey, hey, Joe. I keep a fishing pole with me now, yeah. Yes, sir.
A
But I told you. Hey, hey, Joe, My girl. My aunt reft her so glad if he broke up with a guy. And my grandma loved the guy because he would go to church with my aunt, you know, he come pick her up, did things, buy things for him. My aunt broke up with him. She know she didn't like, hey. And my grandma like, oh, I sure love that boy. I don't know why you broke up with him. And my aunt said, mama, they plenty fish in the sea. My granny deadpan said, yeah, but you might not catch him.
B
Yeah.
D
Boy, why are you playing? Yeah.
A
Hey, my girl. Hey, my girls. People say, where you get your. My grandma. My grandma was always slick.
D
Yeah, yeah.
A
Swollen red Unspeaking facts Kaminga, fam, sure not taking all that food. I'm mindful of that. I'm like, man, I mean, all this food, like, no, I'm good.
D
But look, if you got a bad report with the team, y' all already ain't saying either. Man, go get what y' all want. They're gonna.
B
Yeah, I'm telling you. That's what he told him. Go ahead, take what you want in there.
A
No, I don't eat it, but I'm gonna get on up out of there anyway.
D
I don't want nothing.
A
Samuel Grand, 89. Ocho understand, but he don't agree. Ocho understand, but he. He don't agree. Man, you know how Ocho is bad.
B
On what part? Oh, he probably talk about the food.
D
Yeah.
A
Fila 404 hockey isn't told to join a few good men. Why it isn't. Isn't that a double standard? But look, there are a lot of double standards in said sports. But that's. You understand said sport, Ocho. Okay, hockey, y' all can fight. You know, certain sports you can fight. I mean, you drop the gloves, you know what time it is.
B
Yeah.
A
You know, baseball, every football, you drop your helmet. We know we've been a bump.
B
Baseball every so long. Hey, baseball every so often you get. You'll get a battle charge.
A
Yeah, absolutely. Hey, that.
B
Hey, that's so exciting.
A
Or. Or you, you know, you. Hey, you admire Your home run for too long. You better get your ass around the base, you know that. 96 mile an hour dead in your ribs. DS3651. Ocho, I so love the show. Me and my wife been here since day one. Ocho, you said you were getting a dog. Check your dm, man. Ocho gone too much. He ain't getting no dog.
B
Yeah, but I might have all white everything in here, but dog will no, sir.
A
Swollen red. I'm from Miami, but I can't claim the guppies. I don't blame Teddy Hart. 29:13 make an All Star MVP override the 65 game rule to remain eligible for season for season awards. Guys would actually try, guaranteed. Now only a handful of guys gonna be eligible for it, right? I mean, for the most part, guy ain't coming out of nowhere to win that award. Where? Oh, the game is in la. So normally when the game is in, like somebody on that team, which is Kawhi. Luca. Yeah, obviously it's gonna be in Kawhi's building. You kind of try to push Kawhi to get it, but the international, you look, they loaded. So that might be Luca time. Joey. Now, how y' all did it if somebody. Let's just say it was in Atlanta.
D
Right, Right. They would, they would, they would, you know, make sure you got your fair share play to be able to make that happen. But, but, but, man, listen, with it being in la, Uncle Ocho, I think that that boy Luca gonna be out there trying to show out. You already know it. You already know. I know it's in. I know it's in Clipper building, but.
A
Terry Buller said, oh, we need to try to. We need to try to get D Law on the show. We'll get on that. We'll have our people try to reach out, and we'll definitely try to get him on Jordan Beehives F. What's your opinion on Zaire, Franklin and Jeff teague situation on 520 the other day. Love watching you guys nightcap for life. Look, I don't. I don't have.
D
And I didn't really. I didn't really see it. What happened.
B
I didn't see it either.
A
I guess they were just. I. I don't really know. I just. Just saw that. It seemed like it got really contentious. I don't really know what they was talking. I think. Jeff was like, we're more famous, we're more known, make more money. I. I really don't know. I just think it. It probably shouldn't have went there. But the simple fact is like if we got a contributor coming on, this is how I look at it. Ocho, you let me know what you think. We got a contributor coming on. You know, I don't really look at Joe, but let's just say for the sake of argument last year, Joe coming on. Joe have his opinion on something. My job is not trying to shoot that down.
D
Right.
A
And so I just think, you know, and look, we're competitive, we're you know, testosterone still pump high, no mind do you know. But I, I look, I, I, like I said, I, I, I don't know. I don't know. Frank watched him, I know Teague a little bit, had some conversations with him. But guys, I really don't, really don't know enough of how it started. I just saw what was trending and was going back and forth. But I need, I would have to like go back and sit down from the the beginning and see what precipitated it and what led it to get to where it got right.
D
Same here. Because I didn't, I just, I seen the frenzy that it caused but I didn't really, I didn't see the interview or whatever they was talking scruffy ultd.
A
Give it up to the fam Jared Reed 90 Seattle Defense from Golden Goldsburg, North Carolina Goldsberg House stand up. Just another kid from Goldsberg. You guys did it. Alabama alum only id top 5 NFL fans. My list, the Mannings, the Sharps, the Kelsey's, the Watts, the Barbers. What's your guys? That seem like a pretty good list to me.
B
Yeah, that was a good one.
D
That's a cool list to be a part of.
A
You talk about brothers. I mean cause the Matthews now Clay dad, Clay Matthews senior and then Bruce Matthews, his son is a ot al o tackle. But I think their dad also played in the league. Just like you know Peyton and Eli that Archie played in the league. But it's a good list. I ain't gonna fight y'. All. We'll stick with this one. Yeah. That concludes this episode of Nightcap. This episode revolves around lively, humorous, and occasionally heated discussions about major developments in the NBA—including the Celtics’ bold moves, comeback hopes for Jayson Tatum, the Cavaliers’ rise, and debates about Kevin Durant’s longevity and legacy. The trio also shifts gears to NFL coaching changes before veering into a memorable and hilarious conversation about locker room culture and personal habits. The tone is conversational, playful, and sometimes critical, staying true to Club Shay Shay's brand of honest sports banter.
(02:08–05:36)
The Celtics’ pre-deadline trade—acquiring Nikola Vucevic for Anfernee Simons—signals Boston’s belief that Jayson Tatum may return for the postseason.
The Celtics weren’t expected to be contenders after injuries and roster changes, but surprising performances from Jalen Brown, Pritchard, and Derek White have kept them in the playoff mix.
(05:36–09:06)
Cleveland has won 10 of their last 11 after adding James Harden, pairing him with Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen.
Harden provides important veteran leadership and passing, and is motivated for a new contract:
Concerns remain about consistency, especially for Harden and the Cavs’ bigs in the playoffs.
(11:33–18:28)
Durant, in conversation with Hakeem Olajuwon, expresses awe at the idea of playing five more years.
The hosts agree that Durant’s smooth, non-physical style and supporting cast could extend his career.
“With KD’s body type…they call him the Slim Reaper. I definitely think he can play another five years because his shooting is always going to be a premium...in today’s game, if you can shoot that rock, you can play, bro.” (13:56–14:23, Joe Johnson)
Comparison to LeBron’s longevity and discussion of Houston’s current roster as a (possibly insufficient) supporting cast for KD.
Sharpe notes Durant’s consistent performance: “KD has shown no fall off. He’s averaging 25.9. So he’s averaging 26 points a game, five rebounds a game, four assists a game.” (18:08–18:19)
(21:01–23:46)
Eagles ex-OC Kevin Patullo joins the Miami Dolphins as passing game coordinator.
The real issue for Miami is quarterback uncertainty, not the incoming coach:
(24:01–27:38)
(28:28–43:49)
Hilarious stories about locker room etiquette: fart fines, personal boundaries, and rules at home.
The infamous “can your girl pass gas around you?” conversation:
Southern/generational cultural differences get discussed, with laughs, jabs, and incredulity.
(44:39–48:44)
Sharpe reads Gene Simmons’s controversial take on hip hop’s place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Sharpe and Ocho critique Simmons’s logic, call out music industry’s long history of appropriating Black innovation, and affirm hip hop’s place in music history:
(49:18–56:25)
Nightcap’s regular “Power Play” picks for prize contests:
Plans for the All-Star Game (“Let’s go to the All-Star game!”), additional NBA fan mail discussion, football mailbag (Saints, Arkansas Razorbacks, etc.).
On big trade outcomes:
“I thought that quietly, Uncle Ocho, this was probably the biggest acquisition during the trade deadline...” (02:34, Joe Johnson)
On Achilles injuries:
“It’s an Achilles, man...that’s a lot of wear and tear real quick. So I don’t know if it’s worth it, honestly.” (03:18, Joe Johnson)
On Harden’s style:
“Kobe said…one guy dominating the ball is just…impossible to win like that in the postseason.” (07:27, Sharpe)
On Kevin Durant’s playing style:
"His shooting is still gonna always be a premium…in today’s game. You can shoot that rock, you can play, bro.” (13:56, Joe Johnson)
On personal boundaries:
“Any woman that’s ever dealt with me, when I go to the bathroom to pee, I cut the water on. I don’t want to hear myself…” (35:17, Sharpe)
This episode delivers insightful NBA analysis, real talk about athlete recovery and legacy, and uncensored, entertaining stories from the hosts’ own locker room and home lives. It’s as much about the personalities as the sports—they’ll keep you laughing while keeping you informed.
