Travis Hunter says he can play every snap in an NFL game If given a chance. Let's take a listen to what Trav had to say.
Jeff T
That talk. Why?
Chad Johnson
What are you at the next level? Both. Just like you saw me play.
Jeff T
You want to do both.
Chad Johnson
How many snaps in a football game can you play? All of them, if they give me.
Shannon Sharp
The chance and the opportunity to do it.
Jeff T
And what.
Chad Johnson
So we were talking about the challenges.
Jeff T
That that come with that.
Chad Johnson
You got to be in offensive meetings.
Jeff T
You got to be in defensive meetings, you got to be in wide receiver meetings, you got to be in defensive back meetings.
Chad Johnson
How is there enough time to do all that? How did you prepare for that when you played college? Well, we kind got 24 hours in a day.
Shannon Sharp
We probably sleep for about eight of those.
Chad Johnson
So we probably got 16 more. So 16 dedicated to those. Yeah. All of them dedicated to football. Oo.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
The issue is not playing both of them.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
Can you play both of them? Well, yeah.
Jeff T
Right, right.
Chad Johnson
Because I can put anybody out there to play both sides. But how well can they play them?
Jeff T
Yeah, I.
Chad Johnson
There's a difference. There's levels. There have been great guys in college that couldn't play at that next level.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
And you're asking him because, see, for me, it don't do him. No, for me, for him to go out there like, oh, he playing both sides of the ball.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
How well will he play both sides of the ball? That's the question. Do I believe he gonna play every snap? No. No, he's not.
Jeff T
You know what I like? I like the belief. I like the fact that he believes he can actually do it most of the time. That's where it all starts in anything you do in life. Believing that you can do it, manifesting. Not only doing that, not only believing it and manifesting it, then working your way into actually being able to do it. Has it been done before? Absolutely not.
Chad Johnson
Which is why they used to play both ways back in the 50s, the 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s. I think Chuck McNary, rest his soul, was the last two way player. He was a middle linebacker and a center for the Eagles. He's the last full time two way players concrete, Charlie.
Jeff T
Yeah. And I think one of the reasons why me and you and everyone else is debunking, Debunking his ability to play full time on both sides of the ball is because of how much extreme. What's the word I'm looking for here?
Chad Johnson
It's a physical grind. Because guess what, Ocho, he plays both sides of the ball. He gets hurt to miss a game, guess what I've Got right. I'm down two players, right?
Jeff T
Oh, yeah, that, that, that too.
Chad Johnson
Listen, I'm down two players. Don't show.
Jeff T
Yeah, I, I listen, I like, I like the confidence, though.
Chad Johnson
Oh, yeah, for sure.
Jeff T
I like the confidence.
Chad Johnson
That's part of it. That's half the battle.
Jeff T
In everything you do, believing you can do it. Not what I do. What I would love for him to do is you got to focus on one. You got to focus on one thing. You got to be. You got to be great at one thing. You're not going to be able to grade at both. You can't be great at DB and greater receiver. You have to become a craftsman at one or the other. Now, I don't know which one is going to be me. Personally, I like him playing both. I enjoy it. I enjoy watching them play both sides of the ball. Will he be able to do it at that level at an elite level, at the next level? I don't know. That's very, very difficult. When you look at the level of talent you're going to have to see week in and week out, that's the hard part.
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Jeff T
Because the level, the level, the. The level, the level feel evens.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. Because there are a lot of guys that. Just as talented as he is.
Jeff T
Wait, say it again.
Chad Johnson
I said there are guys that. Just as talented as he is.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah. Just as talented. And there'll be some that are even more talented. Everyone is J. Everyone is just as fast, being just as quick. Lateral movement, short air, quickness. No matter what you. Everything, everybody is exactly the same. There's one thing that separates everybody. Your technique. And up here.
Chad Johnson
Yep.
Jeff T
It becomes a mental game at that point. I like it, though. It's exciting. I'm curious. I'm curious to see where he goes. And not only where he goes, but what they allow him to do. How are they going to use him?
Chad Johnson
People talking about they don't hit in the NFL. Yeah, they do.
Jeff T
They do, man. Please. Listen, I know the rules have changed a little bit. You know, they can't hit me like they did during our day. Oh, but they still hitting now? Yeah, they still hitting.
Chad Johnson
You know what? I wish all the fans that say they don't hit, they would sign a waiver and go out there and say.
Jeff T
Okay, no, no, no, no, no.
Chad Johnson
Breadwater.
Jeff T
No, no.
Chad Johnson
Okay, Who's a safety? Okay, G.J. watt. And see. No, no, no. No joke.
Jeff T
No joke.
Chad Johnson
They said they don't hit, so I want them to go out there and see.
Jeff T
It's one thing to watch the game from the stands. It's one thing to watch the game of football from tv, yes. But to put on. To put on some pads, as a fan and not understanding how fast the game is and how fast them mofos is moving, man, don't do that.
Chad Johnson
You preach it to the choir, man, don't. Don't do that. You played 11 years, I played 14 years. I understand the collisions, man. And people see, everybody thinks something easy if you've never done it.
Jeff T
Yeah, or maybe they have done it. But we talk about pee wee, High school, college, that's all. That's semi pro, but it's different.
Chad Johnson
It's different. There's levels to this. As you go up, you play flag, you play pop war, peewee pop one, or whatever you want to call it. Then you go to jv, you go to high school, you go to college. Now, there is no higher level than the NFL. So all the people say, look, the NFL, hey, we'll allow you to play. We want you to sign this waiver, whatever position you want to play. If you want to play running back, you want to play wide receiver, running back, quarterback. Want to back who if they want.
Jeff T
To play it, man, please.
Chad Johnson
And so. No, Joe, not again. We g. Hey, we gonna have practice. Okay, who you want to go up against? So you want Fred Warner? You want Z. Franklin, you want Ron Smith? No. Okay, you want Pat or Tan? You want Jaylen Ramsey? You want Stingler? I'm talking about who do you want? Who do you want to guard? Who do you want to go up against? Now we're going just one time and we'll say, okay, now tell me what you think. You think they're still hitting the NFL? Nope.
Jeff T
And you know what? People's perspective on the game won't change until they're actually in that situation. It's a situation, hypothetically speaking, they will never be in. Therefore, that's why they comment the way they do from the outside looking in. Of course. That's why they talk down on players the way they do because they've never been in that position. They don't understand how difficult it is. So it's easy to talk, you know, from the couch or if you watch the game, you studied the game and have never actually played it. I understand how difficult it is. I don't think people really understand how great Saquon Barkley is. Forget the numbers he's putting up. I don't understand. I don't think they get it. They don't understand how good Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen, all these dudes that you talk about, you know, on Twitter and X, and they don't understand how good these dudes are.
Chad Johnson
Oh, I'm not saying that you can't catch, but I'm saying catch the ball with a dude gonna drill you.
Jeff T
We have to. We have to focus. We have to lock in on the ball. Bring it in, man. Come on, man. It's so many, that, man. Man.
Chad Johnson
Hey, Ocho, they don't hit no more. I tell you what, we gonna hand the ball off and we gonna block it just like we would if that was Derrick Henry or Saquon running the football. We're not gonna turn him loose on you. We're gonna block it all the same.
Jeff T
And mind you remember this. And when they block it all the same, there's always one free man that the running back has to be because.
Chad Johnson
The quarterback is not blocking anybody.
Jeff T
Yeah. Always one man that the court that the running back has to be, and that's your man. You got to beat him on your own. It's different, man.
Chad Johnson
And you got on pads. I mean, you. You not used to juking nobody. Hey, as a matter of fact, you see the guy from the. The Hawks, they had two guys, and he wouldn't lay the ball up, and he ended up tearing his knee.
Jeff T
For real?
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Jeff T
He talking about, like, the halftime.
Chad Johnson
Yes. They had, you know, they had a competition. You gotta make so many points. One guy on one end, one guy on the other end. They gave him five, four, three. He got the ball, went and lay it up, reel him up out of the wheelchair.
Jeff T
But that's funny.
Chad Johnson
Plus, the thing is, Ocho, I don't think people realize when people like, well, damn, man, you bigger than I thought. You don't look that big on tv, right? Hell, I'm small compared to a tight end.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah? Yeah.
Chad Johnson
And then you multiply that. A guy running full speed. If you ain't never been used to taking no hit, or you haven't taken a hit in a while, you're not taking the blows.
Jeff T
No, not at all.
Chad Johnson
As I got older, I didn't want to look. I was a guy. I a. I would take a lick. I would, hey, okay, I'm cool and bounce right back. If I got older, I started getting year 12, 13, 14, right. I put that blink on, no joke. Hey, Ocho, I head right on up out of pound. I ain't taking that link no more. Yeah, I'm good.
Jeff T
You listen, as you get older, you get by the year 10 and on, you make business, you make Business decisions.
Chad Johnson
Absolutely. Hey, put that blink on. Hell, not about. Hey, turn it up. No, I'm good. Hey, it's. Hey, o. Joe. It's second and one. If we can't get second to 1:31. I don't know the team.
Jeff T
Yeah, somebody's not late.
Chad Johnson
The ball game. Four down, something like that. Okay, Okay, I get you.
Jeff T
Right?
Chad Johnson
But hey, I got two. Hey, back in the day with your two guys coming. Okay, you over here. You over here. Okay, I split you.
Jeff T
You split them, Cover them.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, I come. I think you the lesser of the danger. Let me get you. Let me get you. I will. I will get you back inside. That's a problem. You not a problem.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
But I, I, I. I'm an. I'm anxious to see Travis give it a go. Yeah. Playing both sides.
Jeff T
It's. It's important where he goes. It's very, very, very, very important where he goes. I. And I. I hope the team that drafts him understand his beliefs, understands his wants, and they use him in. In that manner because he's an exciting player. He's a generational talent, and they need to be able to use him in a manner so he's able to display that at the next level the same way he did at Colorado.
Chad Johnson
I'm not so sure. It's not more of a mental than a physical focus, because you have to be on your A game all the time, especially on defense, because, you know, sometimes a wide receiver, you're not getting the ball. So I ain't really got to focus. I ain't throwing me the ball. I'm lasting the progression. But as a defensive player at the D, at the corner, you lied. You have one slip, Ocho, you hesitate a little bit.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
You gotta smell the deodorant.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah. Strike up the van.
Chad Johnson
That's it. And now you coming. Hey, you. Hey. And what everybody do after they give a touchdown? What they do, Ocho, they look up at the jump on Trump. Yeah, that's you. That's you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We just saw that. Yeah. When you looking up there, you. Yeah, that you. But I'm anxious to see what he can do. He believes he can do it. Do I believe he can play every snap, offense and defense? I don't do. I think he can play one side and then they have packages. I believe it's easier if he's a DB for them to install packages at.
Jeff T
The wide receiver position.
Chad Johnson
I believe that's easier, but let him try it.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
And you drafting him, knowing that's what he Wants to do. One of the reasons he went with Time. Time told him he would let him do it. I'll let you do whatever you can do. He showed time he could do it. He did it. He won the Heisman Trophy. One of the great seasons of the wide receiver. He had what, 13, 1400 yards, a DB. He had a bunch of pass breakups. Had a force fumble, key interceptions, good tackler.
Jeff T
Oh, he gonna come up.
Chad Johnson
Let's see what he can do. No. No problem whatsoever. Giving. I think you gotta get. I think you have to give him that. Cause deep down. Cause now he gonna feel some type of way, right?
Jeff T
Oh, yeah. You already knew what he got. Listen, you knew what I wanted before I got here. I expressed my interest in it. I've said it over and over and over countless times. And you bring me in, you draft me this high, wherever it may be. And then when I get here, you tell me. Well, we don't think you. You know how they play that game, Monk. Well, we don't think you well better suited at. Come on now. Don't, don't, don't play that game.
Chad Johnson
Somebody tell me he would love that opportunity. So where you think he goes? Oh, yeah. Where you think Trav goes?
Jeff T
I don't know.
Chad Johnson
Cleveland, the Giants.
Jeff T
I don't listen. When you talk about Cleveland, they need a quarterback. When you talk about the Giants, they need a quarterback. So I don't think any. Any. Those two teams are not passing up on Shador or Cam Ward. Now I listen. Somebody might come up from low and surprise us on draft day and come and grab a quarterback early, and then it freezes your door somewhere else. We keep forgetting we not even talking about Abdul Carter. Hell, who's to say he don't go first? You know, you just don't know. Especially with those four. Ain't no telling how it's going to go. But I know he's going to go in the top five. I just don't know where. And who knows what's going to happen on draft day with some other team and some conversation that they might. That they might feel a player is up there, that might be a generational talent and a franchise changing player to them, and they go up and snatch them and change the draft all the way up.
Chad Johnson
According to Adam Schepter, the Browns are more likely to pick Travis Hunter at 2 in the draft. He impressed Cleveland at his pro day. The Browns are exploring a potential taking Travis Hunter at two, then trading back into the first round to land Jalen Milroe. It's possible that Milro could be picked around there with their second pick, but it would be gambling end of the season with. With Kenny Pickett. FQB1. Milroe was invited and he has accepted an invitation to the NFL draft.
Jeff T
You think is. Is he. Milro has a chance to go in the first round.
Chad Johnson
You think that's what they're saying? Oh, it just.
Jeff T
I don't, I don't like that, man. I don't like when they, I don't like when they bring players in and have them sitting there like that all day and ain't no telling where you're going to go. It's not, it's not for certain you're going in the first round. They. They put the camera on you while everybody was getting picked. I don't like that unk. That's embarrassing to me, man.
Chad Johnson
I would be cautious, right? And let me tell you why I'm cautious. I'm cautious because I watch Anthony Richardson and I watch a supremely guy that size Run 4, 5, 4, 4 Whatever he ran, jump out of the gym. Well, he's a 50 plus percent completion guy in college.
Jeff T
Hmm.
Chad Johnson
College. NFL is harder to get completions than the end of. Than college, right? If you're 50 in college, you see he was 46, Richardson was 46. There are times I'm looking at mirror, I'm like, bro, what are. What was that? Now, I'm not saying that with some time, but how much time are you going to give it, right? Because if you're going to Cleveland, bro, they're going to need you to be at least by year two.
Jeff T
You got to go, you're going to.
Chad Johnson
Need to be ready to go.
Jeff T
Got to go.
Chad Johnson
Because Jimmy and D. Haslam, they. Look, look, we bit the bullet on this one with DeShawn. We gave up three first round picks. One of them was C.J. stroud, one of them was Will Anderson Jr. And the other one was Tank Dale.
Jeff T
That's crazy. Oh, that's crazy.
Chad Johnson
One was offensive rookie of the year, the other was defensive rookie of the year, and they both gone to the Pro Bowl. Now, we bit the bullet on them, right? We signed off on desean, but you brought that to us. Now we just gave what you call him, 100, what, 40 million, 160 million, whatever. We gave Miles Garrett, right, We took Trav, we traded back into the first round, which means that we're possibly going to have to give up next year's first round.
Jeff T
Okay, listen, they, they. I mean, listen, the Browns have been missing. The Browns have been missing for a long time on their first round picks. They've been missing for a long time. I know one thing. They can't miss if they go with Travis Hunter. You can't, you can't miss. No, you won't miss. Now they, they miss with quarterbacks, but you're not going to miss there.
Chad Johnson
So I'm ready for it to say, I'm ready to see how this thing play. I'm trying to, I'm tired of trying to play expert and like, oh, he's going here, he's going there. Cause you don't know.
Jeff T
You don't.
Chad Johnson
Like you said, somebody might come zooming up the draft board because somebody like, oh, he ain't get selected. Oh, I can get him here, right? We're about to find out. On April 18th, centers are coming. From Oscar nominated filmmaker Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther and Creed, starring Michael B. Jordan, comes the Moshe picture event of the year. The Dolphins are reportedly growing increasingly frustrated with Tyreek Seals antics on a word about the culture he's creating in the locker room. They have begun to hear teams out potential trade scenarios, but will only act on a deal where they feel they're getting fair value in the return.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
I tried to tell you this, Ocho. You ain't want to hear me.
Jeff T
Wait. Oh, you trying to tell me what?
Chad Johnson
About Tyreek. They were getting tired of that. Oh, we talked about it.
Jeff T
Listen, I think Tyreek ain't. Tyreek ain't slow. He's pretty smart. If, you know they tired of it, you keep on doing it. What does that tell you? He doing it on what? He doing it on what?
Chad Johnson
You think you do it on purpose? Yeah, absolutely.
Jeff T
Absolutely. At this point, Absolutely. TikTok, you know some of the stuff he's doing.
Chad Johnson
Well, he the one that keep talking about, oh, to find out your team trying to trade him. You the one the last game of the season, you talking about your P side, you got to go do what's best for you. I don't like when guy. I don't like when people become a victim in their own story.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
Be a victim in someone else's story. You can't be a victim in a story that you created. You created this. You wanted out of Kansas City, a situation that you.
Jeff T
Wait, wait, wait, wait. He wanted to get paid. He wanted to get paid. That's all. He wanted to get paid.
Chad Johnson
They were going to pay him. But you got to realize Tyreek had years left on the contract. Now, when they came to him and they asked him would he restructure, he said, no, I don't believe it. I signed the contract. Then the next year, he wanted to redo his contract, even though he had said he a year before he signed the contract. I got no problem with that.
Jeff T
Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
You go to a guy that was injury prone, Ocho, tell the people at home, how did Tua come into the league? He limped into the league. Remember he fractured his hip his last year in college?
Jeff T
Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
He was injury prone in college.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
Where they're not nearly as physical as they are the NFL. So what do you think is going to happen, Ocho?
Jeff T
You're going to deal with some injuries here at the next level. That's what he's had to do.
Chad Johnson
So now and then you go, look, I get it. You know, you a. But you tried to sell us. You tried. Ain't nobody believe that tour was on Mahomes level. Not his accuracy, not being able to throw, none of that. Okay. You want to hype your quarterback up, you're like, hey, I believe in him. I. We get all of that. You played the wide receiver position. I started wide receiver at the tight end. I get it. I want to give my guy confidence. Let you know, I believe in. But I'm trying to figure out oo, what is it? Like you said, his first year there, he was second in the league and receiving the first, third, second year there, first year there, he was second in league receiver. The next year to there, he was one of the few guys that's ever had 1800 receiving yards. Last year he was. Nick. It got off to a bad start. It started the first game of the season, Ocho, with the traffic stop and so forth and so on. I don't really know what happened, but. Hey, bro, I. Oh, Lord, I just don't get these guys on Joe. I don't get.
Jeff T
Hey, listen, you never know what's going to happen. All that stuff is going on. You know, Tyreek is not happy, obviously. He's continuous to do what he does on social media. Probably trying to egg on a trade in. In that manner, in. In a fun, entertaining way, you know, using TikTok. Then you have the draft coming up, Hunk. Ain't no telling what's going to happen. Draft day. Ain't no telling. So, you know, some. Some might happen there. You know, it changed things up. I'm just like, that's what's so exciting to me. Because you just don't know.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, you just.
Jeff T
You just don't know. There's nobody for certain. You know what? He was so great in college. He's absolutely going number one. You just don't know.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, who.
Jeff T
Who.
Chad Johnson
Who are you talking about going number one?
Jeff T
Ojo I, man.
Chad Johnson
Oh, you talking about. Oh, you. Oh, yeah.
Jeff T
I'm saying. Yeah, you just. You just. You don't know. It could be. Listen, Tennessee need to. Tennessee need a quarterback, don't they?
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Jeff T
I mean, I don't know, man. Ain't no telling.
Chad Johnson
I think the thing is, Ocho, this is what we see.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
No matter how great you are, they'll move your ass.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah.
Chad Johnson
And they'll say, because they're not gonna let you become bigger than the team.
Jeff T
Not only bigger than the team. They won't let you become bigger than the game itself.
Chad Johnson
No, no. Because Kansas City. They traded Tyreek and went to three straight Super Bowls.
Jeff T
Yeah, well.
Chad Johnson
But they won two.
Jeff T
Now you gotta understand why they went to three. They got. They got. They got that special dude over there, too.
Chad Johnson
So what did that tell you? Wide receivers ain't doing nothing without what. No matter who he is.
Jeff T
Quarterback.
Chad Johnson
Tyreek had 1800 yards. Waddle had another 1200. Did they win a playoff game?
Jeff T
I was just talking about the super bowl factor, but I got.
Chad Johnson
You better have that guy to pull that trigger.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Chad Johnson
You better have him. It's f. Oh. Cause think about it. All those years, New England, how many. How many Pro bowl wide receivers they had? If you take Randy Moss out of the equation, Wes Welker, I think Troy Brown went to one. Yeah, but I don't think Troy. I don't think Troy. I could be wrong. I don't know. If Troy went with Brady, I think he went maybe a year before Brady. Maybe I'm wrong. But if you go back and study it, O Joe, they have a whole lot of Pro bowl wide receivers. That's why. That's why people really fell in love with Tom. They're like, he's been getting all these super bowl, going to all these Super Bowls, and they got all these wide receiver here, wide receiver here, wide receiver over there. Pro Bowl, All Pro. And he doing that. You better have that guy. Yeah, you better have him.
Jeff T
It makes a difference. There's a reason they make the big bucks.
Chad Johnson
It makes a big difference.
Jeff T
Oh, yeah.
Chad Johnson
He's the foundation. If you get him. Ocho, I can build. If I got a solid foundation, I can put whatever I want on it. If I got a great foundation, I can put a 20,000 square foot home, or I can put a thousand square foot home. My foundation solid, and it can hold it all.
Jeff T
Well, foundation is so important in all aspects of life.
Chad Johnson
It is, huh?
Jeff T
Well, you just. You just said a word there and don't even know you said it.
Chad Johnson
I get Gronk was there. But y'all do realize that Brady went to how many Super Bowls before Gronk arrived? Don't do that. Don't minimize that, man. Gronk is. Hey, Gronk, for me, is one of the two best tight ends. Some people got Gronk1. Some people got Kelsey, I got Kelsey. Hey, I'll debate. I'll debate you. Look at the regular season, look at the postseason, blah, blah, blah, so forth and so on. But Tom, come on now. All I know is Dion Branch, one Super bowl mvp. Yeah, he went to Seattle and we never heard from him. David Patton. Y'all know where David Patton went after he left New England? Nobody. Look at the receiver that he had early in his career.
Jeff T
Yes, he hasn't.
Chad Johnson
When they left New England, did you ever hear from them again? He take it undrafted? Y'all do realize Wes Walker was an undrafted guy? Y'all do realize Edelman was a seventh round guy? What was what? What rounded Amendola get drafted in? Because I think he went to the Rams first. Ojo.
Jeff T
If I'm mistake, Amendola was with the Rams first. If I'm not mistaken.
Chad Johnson
That man was really turning. Look, they were good players, but I don't know if they're going to be what they became without being there. Wow. So he was an undrafted free agent.
Jeff T
Who?
Chad Johnson
Amendola.
Jeff T
Hey, Amendola was nice too, huh?
Chad Johnson
He was Cowboys, then the Eagles, then the Rams.
Jeff T
He was nice.
Chad Johnson
Get David Gibbons. Do y'all remember what David Gibbons went once he left New England? What about David Patton? Dion Branch was a Super bowl mvp. He went to Seattle. Did y'all ever hear from him again? Yeah, Edward was a quarterback.
Jeff T
Oh, oh, yeah. At Kent State. Yeah, Kent State. Yeah.
Chad Johnson
I just look, I don't. Oh, 7 11. Chris Hogan, your guy.
Jeff T
Oh, always open.
Chad Johnson
Buffalo Bill, 7 11.
Jeff T
Yeah, he. And with his.
Chad Johnson
When he undrafted, he was like a lacrosse or a field hockey player or something.
Jeff T
Hey, he was nice. He was nice.
Chad Johnson
He was nice. What he got with Brady, he was nice.
Jeff T
Goddamn. Chris Hogan. That's a good one there.
Chad Johnson
Undrafted, undrafted. Wes Welker. Undrafted. Julian Edelman. Undrafted. Chris Hogan, seventh round draft pick Julian Edelman. Quarterback makes a big difference.
Jeff T
Yep.
Chad Johnson
New Raiders quarterback Geno Smith spoke about leaving Seattle. He said you're talking about a quarterback who wants not only to get paid, every player wants to get paid, but to be respected. That's the most important thing. That's the respect. It's the respect factor. And I just felt like there was a disconnect there.
Jeff T
I'm curious what that was because whatever it was, they kept that internally.
Chad Johnson
I want to get paid. We don't want to pay you. That's the disconnect.
Jeff T
Okay, that's a good one. That's a good one. Hey, listen, that's the best way to put it. But the fact that he conducted himself like a pro, like you just said, we didn't hear people about it. And most of the time when it comes to quarterbacks, you never do hear about it because they always conduct themselves in the right manner because they don't want to mess to the bag. Somewhere else.
Chad Johnson
Ocho. She wants to get married. You don't want to get married. There's a disconnect.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
What's the disconnect? She want to get married. I didn't.
Jeff T
I didn't.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, there's the disconnect. Money seem. You know what? Money seems to have that. A lot of disconnect.
Jeff T
It does, man.
Chad Johnson
I just had a disconnect at the job. I wanted a raise. They didn't want to give it to me.
Jeff T
Raise? Yeah.
Chad Johnson
What. What do we do with Ocho?
Jeff T
Yeah, you right.
Chad Johnson
Hey, but like I said, I'm confused by this. Cause for me, you look at. I think Geno's better than Sam Darnold. Me. That's me personally. Look at his body of work.
Jeff T
Yeah. Mm.
Chad Johnson
You could have had Geno for the same price, but you'd rather have somebody, an unproven guy. Now I get it. If I'm not mistaken, I think they hired Clint Kubiak to be the coordinator in Seattle.
Jeff T
Right?
Chad Johnson
Clint. I mean, hey, I think they did hire Clint. Both of them OCs, Clint and Klein.
Jeff T
Hold on, hold on, hold on. I don't care. I don't care who you got calling the plays. I don't care about who you bought in. I know who you didn't bring in. You ain't bringing number 18 and number three from. From Minnesota. You ain't got.
Chad Johnson
Well, I guess this Ocho, they said, look, we brought in the same offense.
Jeff T
Come on, now.
Chad Johnson
A guy that he's used to hearing in his ear.
Jeff T
Come on, now.
Chad Johnson
Get rid of DK. You release. Lock it. So you only got JSN, JSN. Maybe. Maybe they're going to take a receiver. Oo. I don't know. They got Noah Fan. They got K9.
Jeff T
Hold on. What receiver you seen in the draft this year coming up that is even close to that of a Jordan Addison or Justin Jefferson? Now we got. We got some good ones. Now we got some good ones. Do we have franchise changing receivers?
Chad Johnson
Well, I mean, Jefferson is wherever you are. He's the first or second best receiver in football. Okay. Most people gonna have Chase based on what he's done. He did last year. But Jefferson, you look at his body at work. He's no worse than two right now. He's no worse than two, Ocho.
Jeff T
Right, Right.
Chad Johnson
You got Chase. I just saw Chase this weekend. But I ain't. Hey, but you're right, Ocho. But you know how it is.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Just like players believe the grass is greener, teams do, too. Teams believe that they could Just plug anybody in there or we gonna get the same results.
Jeff T
No, absolutely not.
Chad Johnson
They do.
Jeff T
I understand that they do, but it doesn't work. It doesn't work. It doesn't work half the time.
Chad Johnson
No, it doesn't. So guess what? We'll find out. C.J. gardner, Johnson.
Jeff T
That's my guy.
Chad Johnson
Talks about being traded from Philly, nephew. People showed me their true colors when I got traded, bro.
Jeff T
Yeah, you know how fans are. Fans are.
Chad Johnson
Oh, so what you mean the fans ain't traded? Howie did.
Jeff T
Yeah, but you know how to fade Howie.
Chad Johnson
And, and guess what? The fans are not going to be upset because look at. Look at the. Look at how his track record. Look at how he's drafted. Look at the free agents that he's brought in, right? So they gonna give. They gonna give him the benefit of the doubt. If you try. If you tried to sway public opinion against how that man, oh, look up.
Jeff T
You gonna lose that.
Chad Johnson
He brought in Saquon. He traded for A.J. brown. He got Devontae. He drafted Jalen Hurts. He signed. He drafted Landon Dickinson. He read my bro. You're not finna win that battle.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Bron, who was a pass rushing guy at New Orleans, he brought him in and he's an all pro and he got paid. Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Blankenship, Dajon. Bro, what's his name? What is it? Mitchell. What's the cornerback name? Keon.
Jeff T
Keon. Keon.
Chad Johnson
Kenyon. Mitchell.
Jeff T
Mitchell. Yeah. He's nice, bro.
Chad Johnson
You. I. I get it. I get it. Look, you came back and you played really well.
Jeff T
Very, very well.
Chad Johnson
Who knows? But, bro, you gotta look at it like this, bro. You still in the league and you're getting a check.
Jeff T
Listen. And for the most part, the fans in Philly, they show him love. They show him love. Cause they understand what he's done, what he's done, you know, for that organization and how well he's played. So they've always shown him love. So I'm. Listen, I'm happy for my nephew, man. He gonna be all right. He gonna be all right. Hold on.
Chad Johnson
You know, it's tough. Ojo you there. You know, you gonna win. They a great situation. And then what'd they trade him to? They trade him to Houston. Where'd they trade him?
Jeff T
Oh, yeah, he. Oh, he over there with Stroud now. Yeah, okay, listen. He over there with. Listen, he. To me now, I'm not gonna say you went to a better. A better defensive team, but you ain't over there with no slou.
Chad Johnson
That young Will Anderson Jr, you got Danielle Hunter.
Jeff T
What's the young bull? The DB. The rookie from last year.
Chad Johnson
DB?
Jeff T
Yes. Huh? Boy, he the real deal. I can't remember. I can't remember his first and last name. He was the real deal. He was cutting a fool in training camp and been and cut a fool all season long. Man, be balling. I think he won number 14 or he wear number 4. I can't remember what number he wears.
Chad Johnson
Okay, I know you're talking about, man. He made some play. Yeah, he made some plays. I don't know his name, Ocho, at the top of my head, but I know you're talking about.
Jeff T
He is nice. And I promise you, after today, I won't forget his name. I'm parched. Let me get something to drink real quick.
Chad Johnson
Hold on. They say Lassiter.
Jeff T
Yeah, that's him. Lesson.
Chad Johnson
Wow. Every quarterback in the 2020 first, 2021 first round, besides Trevor Lawrence, is on their third NFL team. Zach Wilson, Jets, Broncos, Dolphins. Trey Lance, 49ers, Cowboys, Chargers. Justin Fields, Bears, Steelers, Jets. Mac Jones, Patriots, Jags. 49ers. Was 2021 the worst draft class in NFL history. Ah, it's up there, Ocho.
Jeff T
It is up there. But also, listen again, I'mma say it again. Like you always say, it's very important where you go. Look at the situation Zach Wilson went into.
Chad Johnson
I mean, me personally, I don't think Zach Wilson. Zach Wilson had one good year and the Jets. And the jets had their mind made up. They're taking him, right? Trey Lance had one good year, right. He had that at fcs. I think I'm gonna need to see a little bit more.
Jeff T
More.
Chad Johnson
Right? Okay. Justin Fields, I think Justin Fields situation. I think Justin being at the Bears, I just like when it's tough, Ocho, because when guys come in, you want somebody to protect them. Yeah. Defensive coaches normally going to run the football and play to their defense. But if that's what you're going to do, get somebody that understands what a talent that Justin Fields is.
Jeff T
Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
And then Mack Jones, I think Bill Belichick, Coach Belichick did him a huge disservice.
Jeff T
Right. The second year. The second year.
Chad Johnson
Because the first year when he had Josh McDaniel, right, he was sensational. They went to the playoffs, he went to the Pro Bowl. And then you bring in, you get Matt Patricia and you get Joe Judge in his ear. Neither has ever called plays for an offensive player. Neither has really worked on that side of the football. So I thought they did him a huge disservice. I really did. Now. He did. I thought he played. He played some. Some good moments with the. The Jags. I think he'll be really good with the 49ers.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Because that offense is tailored to him. Get the ball out of your hand. Because I don't think his arm. He's not the strongest arm, but I don't think Brock Purdy has a cannon.
Jeff T
Right.
Chad Johnson
Hey, but that offense is all about precision.
Jeff T
Yep. Brock Purdy. Very accurate. Very accurate.
Chad Johnson
So. But it's. It's a bad draft class, Ocho. I mean, the third ocho, that's just 21, 22, 23, 24. That's five years.
Jeff T
And the quarterbacks, three different teams.
Chad Johnson
Damn.
Jeff T
Three different teams.
Chad Johnson
But guess what?
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
They're still getting checks.
Jeff T
Listen, those checks are not as big as they want, but they still coming in. That's all that matter.
Chad Johnson
Ocho. Check this out. A man in the U.S. has been arrested and charged with six counts of attempted homicide after allegedly traveling more than 1,000 miles and setting fire to the home of a man who had been communicating with his ex girlfriend.
Jeff T
Hold on. He's supposed to check the girl?
Chad Johnson
He ain't supposed to check nothing. X? X? Oh, X. Yeah. You ain't supposed to check nothing, man.
Jeff T
Listen, man. Going about my business, man. I'm going. Going about your. Going about your business, man. I don't understand. I don't understand. I don't understand how people be crashing out by people whether they be long, even if you. Even if you with somebody.
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Jeff T
And a guy has the ability to gain access to the person that you with. What does that tell you? Why am I crashing out about her allowing you to have access. That lets me know where I stand. It's easy. Move on. That's not hard. I don't understand why it's so hard to wrap that around our head. Because every time we start dealing with people, we add a title to it. We add relationship, we add marriage, situationship. No matter what it is. And for some reason, we, as men, we view that as my property or ownership.
Chad Johnson
That's individual miles. Ocho.
Jeff T
Huh?
Chad Johnson
Do you know how far a thousand.
Jeff T
Miles is, man, you ain't got to tell me to. I don't own you. I. You're not my property if we're together. I appreciate that. And I'm moving based off how you move. Yeah. It's pretty easy when things look funny to you. Make it a comedy show.
Chad Johnson
It's simple.
Jeff T
That's how you keep from getting yourself hurt.
Chad Johnson
So in other words, when they start acting funny, I might as well. Hey, give me a big nose and some red shoes. Cause I'm gonna be a clown, too.
Jeff T
Make it a comedy show. Cause they will make a fool of you and then play victim.
Chad Johnson
Hey, you remember the song? Michelle and dago cello in love and basketball?
Jeff T
Oh, yeah.
Chad Johnson
You make a fool love me. Tell me why you say that. Wait. We made love.
Jeff T
Wait.
Chad Johnson
Just last night.
Jeff T
She made that. She sing that song?
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Jeff T
Wait a minute. Oh, hell, tell me that. Hold on.
Chad Johnson
Huh?
Jeff T
What's the name of the song?
Chad Johnson
I want to kiss you.
Jeff T
I'm gonna put that in my lap.
Chad Johnson
You with the pain that I do. I smell you in my dreams. But now when we're face to face. You won't look me in the eye.
Jeff T
Come on.
Chad Johnson
No more friendship, no more love you say I can't touch you. I can't touch you no more. Oh, thank you. Nothing.
Jeff T
What's the title? What's the title of the show?
Chad Johnson
You make a fool of me.
Jeff T
Huh?
Chad Johnson
Love and basketball.
Jeff T
You make a fool of me?
Chad Johnson
Yes. Michelle and Jago Chello.
Jeff T
Hold on, hold on. There it is fooling me right there. I'm finna I'm finna add it.
Chad Johnson
Yes.
Jeff T
I'm gonna add it to my library right now.
Chad Johnson
Does she want you with the pain that I do? Let that sink in, Ocho. Does this person that you want to be with, does she want you with the pain that I do? Because I can smell you in my dreams.
Jeff T
You. You. A. If you. If you take it slow. When you listen to what you said, you got to feel that. You got to feel. You got to feel that.
Chad Johnson
That's. Ocho. Every song that this woman sings, it resonates with me because I know. I'm a very passionate person.
Jeff T
Yes, sir.
Chad Johnson
With.
Jeff T
I know how you feel. Take your time now. Take your time.
Chad Johnson
I told you. When, when, when old girl played that song for Miocho, huh? Trust. That's how you get to me. You a song, and I'm never going to forget it.
Jeff T
Right, Right.
Chad Johnson
I just. And what I. The first time I heard that woman's voice, and every time that she's close to me, I go see her. I went to see her at the tabernacle. I went to see her, like, twice at the tabernacle. I've seen it in la. I've seen it in Colorado. I've seen it. And I've seen her three or four times in Atlanta, and a lot of times. I'm probably the only straight male there. There's a lot of. Lot of women that love that love.
Jeff T
Yes, sir. Yes, sir. It's like that, huh?
Chad Johnson
Oh, man. And she the soundtrack love drones. Uh huh.
Jeff T
She on that too.
Chad Johnson
Yes. If you feel the way I feel for you rush over the name of the song. Her and Marcus Miller, right? She got a song with John Coogan. Oh, man. Look here, Chad. Y'all know, so I'm telling y'all now, if y'all say, man, who's Shannon Sharp? Ain't no question. Don't even ask. Michelle and Daniel cello.
Jeff T
That's live.
Chad Johnson
If you feel the way I feel I'll rush over there's no reason to be alone My thoughts for you Patiently I wait for an invitation I often imagine you Come on now Picture that you're no more a voice than on my telephone that I find myself rushing home to.
Jeff T
Play I can hear. I can hear the passion. I can hear the enthusiasm in your voice now. It sounds like you're hurting. You're not hurting, are you?
Chad Johnson
No, no, you good.
Jeff T
Cause you know music. You know music make you think about certain people.
Chad Johnson
Yes. Yeah.
Jeff T
So who you think about?
Chad Johnson
Beautiful Bitter Dead End Boulevard, Faithful Mary Magdalene. Yeah.
Jeff T
Come on, man, I got.
Chad Johnson
Take your time, man. Look here.
Jeff T
Take your time.
Chad Johnson
Man. Ocho, I'm telling you a lot of times, and people are like, man, what you do? I'm listening to Michelle Lindego, cello. I'm listening to Maxwell silently. It's probably my favorite song from Maxwell. This woman's work. I'm trying to think of the song. Hold on. What's the name of the song? Symptoms Unknown by Maxwell.
Jeff T
Huh? Symptoms Unknown Symptoms.
Chad Johnson
Symptoms Unknown Symptoms Unknown symptoms.
Jeff T
That from a soundtrack?
Chad Johnson
No, actually, I said that many, many years ago. I tried. I tried to win her back. You know what I'm saying?
Jeff T
But it was too late.
Chad Johnson
I tried to win her back. I tried to win her back.
Jeff T
I tried to win her back. Hold on, hold on, hold on. You ain't tell us this story.
Chad Johnson
I tried to win it back.
Jeff T
You lost somebody. Was it something that you did and you tried to win it back?
Chad Johnson
No, it wasn't something that I did. Right, right. I was just bull jiving around.
Jeff T
Oh, you playing the game. You playing games?
Chad Johnson
Yeah. And what happened was. Oh, I was just dribbling. Dude stole the ball and shot it, and it went in, got me. So this song, I said, look, I went and bought her a cd. I saw it someplace. I bought her a cd, and I handed it to her. I said, there are two songs I want you to listen to. I want you to listen to Silently. And I want you to listen to symptoms unknown.
Jeff T
Okay?
Chad Johnson
She said, shannon, I'm getting married. Oh. Oh.
Jeff T
Hey, hey. That. That hurt me, and that wasn't even me.
Chad Johnson
So she was bad, too.
Jeff T
I know that hurt. Huh? That hurt. How that made you feel? I know that hurt.
Chad Johnson
Well, I can't. I. I can't get mad at results I didn't get for the work I didn't put in.
Jeff T
Don't do that.
Chad Johnson
Don't you do that. Don't you.
Jeff T
Hold on.
Chad Johnson
I'm a first. Y'all know how I am. I cued it to you straight.
Jeff T
Hold on.
Chad Johnson
I'm honest. I'm. I'm 1,000. I'm honest with you now.
Jeff T
Give it to me. Hey, Chat. Chat, do me a favor. Somebody listen to what he says real quick and then type and write it to me on Twitter. Bring that to me one more time.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. I can't get mad at the results I didn't get for work I didn't put in. Had I done what he had done, maybe the situation, who knows? But I didn't do what I was supposed to do. Oh, y'all know me. Chat. Y'all. Y'all done. If y'all follow me, anything, if y'all know anything about Shannon Sharp, I'm gonna accept responsibility. That's all I know how to do. If I'm wrong, I gotta be mad enough to say that that's one thing Mary Porter believed in that. My grandfather believed in that. I believe they did a great job of raising their nine and raising their mom. My grand. My mom's three. I can never be mad. I'm never gonna be mad at results I didn't get for the work I didn't put in.
Jeff T
Dang. Well, that was.
Chad Johnson
That's why I do this, what I do now, Ocho. And I tell people when I go talk, and I say, hard work doesn't guarantee you anything, but without it, you don't have a chance at all. You see, if I don't put it. See if I don't. If I put the hard work in and I don't get the result that I'm hoping for, okay? That wasn't for me. But I never want to have regrets. Man, if I had just worked harder, if I had just done this, you'll never meet anybody. You won't meet one person that will tell you Shannon Sharp didn't work hard.
Jeff T
God, I love that quote. Boy.
Chad Johnson
That'S all.
Jeff T
That was good.
Chad Johnson
That's all I. That's all I know how to do. But I do. I spend a lot of time going, Cho. Sometimes I'll just. Sometimes I'll just start cleaning up and I'll put Michelle and Dago Chella on and I'll just, like, just play, just go. I'll listen to Maxwell. I listen to Sade. I'll just listen to Atlantic Star. I mean, I just like. And it's just like. Okay. It's gonna be okay.
Jeff T
Hey, I got a question. Do you have a playlist already with some of your favorite songs? When you cleaning up?
Chad Johnson
I do. You got.
Jeff T
You got to see me. You got to send me that playlist, man. I gotta check this out. I gotta check this out. That's some good music, man. That's some good music.
Chad Johnson
Oh, yeah, that's. I. I just. Like I said, I'm just. I'm just a guy. Look, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. And I missed opportunities. I mean, I mean, I see people now that, you know, gotten married and some women be honest with me. Say, Shannon, look, you funny. You. You good to have fun with. You're not the married type, so you.
Jeff T
Hey, they viewed you as the fun.
Chad Johnson
Guy because they know. They say, shannon, work is way more important than any relationship is going to be for you.
Jeff T
Okay.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. Your greatest enjoyment comes from work. Nothing brings you pleasure like work.
Jeff T
Right? But that doesn't even put you in the category of the fun guy, too. That's not Ocho.
Chad Johnson
They look at me, I'm aesthetically, you know.
Jeff T
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Chad Johnson
I built like a centaur. You know what I'm saying? Half bad, you know what I'm saying? Don't joke. I don't feel like it. All they being equal, they know they can't when they get old. Yeah. I mean, tour the possible ain't bad as long as you know, you got the big joker. Little joker. Right? I'm gonna get that, but.
Jeff T
Oh, that's a good one.
Chad Johnson

Yo, what's good? It's Jeff T from Club 520 podcast here with my latest fresh take on 2025 NCAA tournament brought to you by Wendy's, the official hamburger of March Madness. What a weekend. Easily my two favorite games from the Elite 8 were Duke beating Alabama, Florida beating Texas Tech, Duke beat Alabama with their defense being able to attack and transition and getting out on the open floor, finding Cooper Flag and all their talented players, and Florida beating Texas Tech. What a win by them coming up big in the end. Now with my final four is set, I like Florida beating Auburn because of the way they play. They got a closer and Clayton Jr. And I got Duke playing Houston and I got Houston being my championship in a 2025 NCAA tournament. It should be a good game, should be exciting weekend. I'm looking forward to it. We'll see if I'm right. But while you watching the games in the meantime, remember the freshest deal in fast foods. Gotta be Wendy's. Right now you can get a junior bacon cheeseburger or a double stack for $1 with an in app offer and a purchase. Again, head to Wendy's app to grab a $1 Junior bacon cheeseburger, a $1 double stack with an in app offer and a purchase for the freshest hamburgers around. Gotta be Wendy's, the official hamburger of March Madness.

Amazon One Medical presents painful thoughts.
Shannon Sharp
Do they ever actually clean the ball pit that these kids play gyms?
Jeff T
Or is my kid just swimming in.
Shannon Sharp
A vat of bacteria catching whatever cootie of the day is breeding in there.
Jeff T
A cootie that'll probably take down our whole family.
Chad Johnson
Luckily, with Amazon One Medical 24. 7 Virtual Care, you can get checked out for whatever ball pittitis you've contracted. Amazon won. Medical healthcare just got less painful. All right, Ocho, it's time for our final segment. Q and A.
Jeff T
Hey, I. I enjoyed that. I enjoyed that night. But tonight, that was good.
Shannon Sharp
That was.
Chad Johnson
That was good.
Jeff T
That was really good. God damn, that was good.
Chad Johnson
Kevin Norwood Jr. Said, I disagree with Dan Orlovsky with his take on first take this morning about Cowboys. They won't be in the playoffs next season and PSA, USA, Florida. P.S. u.S. Florida Bay, go away, Lakers and five. Okay. PSA, USA, Florida Bay, go away, Lakers AND five. D O said he believes the Cowboys are going to be better than what they were last year. And my question, Stephen, a question to him. Okay. What do you mean better? Are they going to win a game? Are they going to be in the playoffs? Are they going to make a deep run in the playoffs? What do you mean, better? Don't just say better. What do you mean by better? Because I'm looking at it. What do they do that's going to put them in front of the Eagles? What are they going to do that's going to put them in front of the commanders? Now, that's two teams that's in your division. Now, unless you tell me three teams are going from that division. I said not. But he said, he said the Eagles are better, the Commanders are better. Right. Tampa is better. Detroit's better. Green Bay is better. The Rams are better.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
I said, Bro, that's 16 right there.
Jeff T
Yeah.
Chad Johnson
Only takes seven.
Jeff T
And the funny thing about all the teams you've named, all the teams you name made immediate changes last year to improve on both sides of the ball. Can I ask you what the Cowboys have done to improve on both sides of the ball since last year?
Chad Johnson
Nothing. They done nothing improved. Being honest, they ain't done anything. King's Journey. Ocho, can I hold one of them cigars? Kmart Fin to send you go Gators.
Jeff T
A. Well, listen, I can't wait to get him. What you want one of them lunatics or one. Listen, them Daniel Marshalls, I want them on 300 cigars. No, no, no, you can't. I can't. You can't do that. You can't do that.
Chad Johnson
Oh, Charlie spoke.
Jeff T
You don't even smoke.
Chad Johnson
Don't worry about it. Send me my money. Let me go upstairs right quick. I got something for you.
Jeff T
Okay, I got you. I got you.
Chad Johnson
Hey, listen, this man owed me $5,200. I asked him for a 300 cigar. He Go to my. Nah.
Jeff T
Okay, okay, I got you, I got you. But listen, listen. I had to buy furniture today from a new place. I had to buy furniture today. So I'm gonna get you 5200, right? I'm gonna get it to you. What we in? We in April?
Chad Johnson
Yeah.
Jeff T
Before we start the live show, I promise you, the last show in Baltimore, I'm gonna pay you live on stage.
Chad Johnson
You said that in New Orleans.
Jeff T
I know I did.
Chad Johnson
First of all, you was supposed to Send me the money before we even got to the live stream.
Jeff T
But you ain't want to get no Apple Pay or cash app or Zelle or Venmo. I told you, you could have had it right there. You could have had it right there on the spot, but you wanted to be difficult.
Chad Johnson
Ocho, I don't have that. I don't have that on my phone.
Jeff T
Download the app. It takes two seconds. I could have been sent your money. You ain't really want it.
Chad Johnson
I want it cash.
Jeff T
Oh, okay, okay. You want cash money?
Chad Johnson
Talk. Cash screams.
Jeff T
Okay. Hey, Baltimore live show. Before the show start, I'm gonna pay your 5200.
Chad Johnson
I wanna. I wanna smoke. I wanna smoke. What they call marshalls.
Jeff T
Daniel marshall.
Chad Johnson
24.
Jeff T
24 karat, all gold cigar. Beautiful.
Chad Johnson
Laverne and. Laverne and Shirley.
Jeff T
Let me tell you something. When. When you. When the. When the ash. When it burn, the ashes be gold.
Chad Johnson
What?
Jeff T
Man, it's a beautiful thing, huh?
Chad Johnson
Yeah. I want one of them.
Jeff T
It's the reason they cost 300 a pop.
Chad Johnson
Yeah, yeah. Hey, they say Zell shut down, so I wouldn't have been able to get my money.
Jeff T
Yeah, if zill ain't shut down, what they talking about? Ain't nothing wrong with Zell.
Chad Johnson
I thought one of them Cash app said this other cash app still going.
Jeff T
Cash app? Zelle Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay. Cash app.
Chad Johnson
I want Ocho pay. Where is that? How can I download that app? Hey, where is that Apple?
Jeff T
Hey, well, that's funny. That way.
Chad Johnson
Chad, y'all heard this man. This man said, I asked this man for a 300 cigar. Nah, that ain't what you said at first.
Jeff T
Oh, I ain't. I a hear you at first.
Chad Johnson
Man. I'm about to run up on this man and get my money, man. Hey. Oh, Chad. And y'all saw what he did today. This man bought $21,000 worth of furniture and put it on social media. He throwing his nose up at me. Hold up.
Jeff T
You.
Chad Johnson
Huh?
Jeff T
Hold on, hold on, hold on. I was telling people that moving is expensive and getting furnishings. Now, that was just my living room set, so I still got to finish the rest of the house.
Chad Johnson
Ocho. Chad, don't y'all think. Yo Cho thumbing his nose up at me. Nah, this man. This man buying furniture. He said he just spent 21,000 on living. That ain't no bedroom, no dinette, no kitchen.
Jeff T
See, that's.
Chad Johnson
He owe me 5200.
Jeff T
Hold on. But that's what.
Chad Johnson
But he got 21,000 to spend but.
Jeff T
You got to understand, that's what's prolonging me sending your money. Because I have to make sure my kids have somewhere to go when they come to me, when they come in, when they come into Miami. I got to make sure all their rooms is done and everything is, you know. You know. So I'm sure you understand if I.
Chad Johnson
Don'T get my money, the cemetery is going to be one of the places they could possibly go. I need to get my 5200.
Jeff T
Hey, listen.
Chad Johnson
Yeah. He throwing his nose up at you, huh?
Jeff T
No, I ain't doing that. But listen, due to unfortunate circumstances, you know, I. I had to move. I had to give me a place. I had to start over. I'm sure you're understanding of that, and you should be supporting me during this awesome time. You should be happy.
Chad Johnson
Support you?
Jeff T
Yeah, you should be. You should be happy, you know? Yeah, man. Shoot. Yeah. You should be happy.
Chad Johnson
I. If I. If. If I show my. If I show my gun. No. Okay, let me go get. Let me go get this. Okay.
Jeff T
You gonna flash your pistol at me now? We just talked about John Moran flashing the. Flashing the fingers.
Chad Johnson
I'm gonna go get this AR from upstairs. Adrian said. Who's your guys? Mount Rushmore of offensive lineman.
Jeff T
Office alignment.
Chad Johnson
Yep.
Jeff T
Anthony Munoz. Anderson. Jonathan Ogden, Tony Bacelli.
Chad Johnson
You ain't got no tackles.
Jeff T
Can I throw? Oh, it's so many, man. Yeah, golly, it's so many.
Chad Johnson
I'm taking Larry Allen. I'm gonna take Jo. Mike Webster gotta be the center.
Jeff T
Well, it's too many. That's a good one, though.
Chad Johnson
It is.
Jeff T
That's a good question.
Chad Johnson
I'm gonna leave out. You leave out Walter Jones. You, Levi Garrett Zimmerman. You mentioned you, Levi Munoz, Art Shell, Dean Upshaw, John Hannah.
Jeff T
There's too many. Too many greats. Trying to think I should have just went by position, huh? So left tackle. I'm gonna go Jonathan Alden, Willie Anderson at right tackle.
Chad Johnson
Okay.
Jeff T
My center. Give me Jeff Saturday at the center. Okay, I need. I need. I need a right guard, the left guard. Ah, God.
Chad Johnson
Larry Allen.
Jeff T
Larry Allen is the right guard. And my left guard. Richmond. Richard Richmond.
Chad Johnson
Richard Webb was a left tackle, right?
Jeff T
Okay, now, never mind. I knew.
Chad Johnson
I mean, you got. You know, you got Bruce Matthews, you got Dwight Stevenson. I go back and forth a little bit further with offensive lineman and you. But Mike Webster is probably the Pittsburgh center, right? Zach Martin just retired, so I would take Larry Allen and John Hannah as my guards. I'll take Mike Webster as my center. I put Jo at left tackle. I put Walter Jones at right tackle. Cedric Pace Uncan Ocho Today is my birthday. Can I get a shout out? Cedric, you absolutely can. Happy Birthday. Hopefully you did something fun, enjoyed your day. Maybe you got a lady or wife or whatever, but hopefully you're able to celebrate with family, friends and loved ones. Club Shay Shay - Nightcap Episode Summary
Release Date: April 8, 2025
In this engaging episode of Club Shay Shay's Nightcap, hosts Chad Johnson and Jeff T delve deep into some of the most pressing topics in the NFL, including Travis Hunter's ambitious vision of playing both offense and defense, the Miami Dolphins' growing frustration with Tyreek Hill's off-field antics, and Geno Smith's recent departure from the Seattle Seahawks. Through insightful discussions, they explore the feasibility, implications, and future prospects surrounding these subjects.
Chad Johnson and Jeff T kick off the episode by examining Travis Hunter's bold claim that he can play every snap on both offense and defense. They dissect the historical context, comparing Hunter's aspirations to the two-way players of the past, and debate the physical and mental demands such a role would entail.
Chad Johnson (05:18): "How well can they play them? That's the question. Do I believe he gonna play every snap? No. No, he's not."
Jeff T (06:01): "I like the belief. I like the fact that he believes he can actually do it most of the time. That's where it all starts."
The conversation highlights the rarity of two-way players in the modern NFL, emphasizing the significant physical grind and the necessity for specialization to perform at an elite level. They acknowledge Hunter's talent and potential but remain skeptical about the practicality of sustaining such a demanding role throughout a season.
Transitioning to team dynamics, Chad and Jeff discuss the Miami Dolphins' reported frustration with Tyreek Hill's behavior and its impact on team culture. They explore the reasons behind the Dolphins' consideration of trade scenarios and the importance of maintaining a cohesive locker room environment.
Chad Johnson (25:49): "I tried to tell you this, Ocho. You ain't want to hear me."
Jeff T (26:31): "He wanted out of Kansas City, a situation that you..."
The hosts analyze Hill's off-field actions, including his social media presence, and how it might be affecting team chemistry. They debate whether Hill's behavior is a personal choice or a strategic move to influence his career trajectory, ultimately questioning the long-term benefits versus the potential disruptions to the team.
The episode further delves into Geno Smith's decision to leave the Seahawks, examining his motivations and the broader implications for both his career and the Seahawks' future.
Chad Johnson (35:06): "Geno's better than Sam Darnold. Me. That's me personally. Look at his body of work."
Jeff T (35:06): "Yep."
Chad expresses his confidence in Smith's abilities compared to other quarterbacks, highlighting his performance and leadership qualities. They discuss the potential reasons behind Smith's departure, including his desire for respect and fair compensation. The conversation also touches upon the Seahawks' strategic choices and how they plan to fill the quarterback void left by Smith's exit.
Chad and Jeff emphasize the critical role that quarterbacks play in a team's success, citing examples from various teams to illustrate how foundational a strong quarterback is to winning championships.
Chad Johnson (31:22): "It makes a big difference."
Jeff T (31:27): "It makes a big difference."
They reference historical quarterback performances and their impact on team dynamics and success. The discussion underscores the necessity for teams to invest wisely in quarterback talent, ensuring they build their strategies around a solid foundation that can support star players and drive the team forward.
The hosts offer their perspectives on recent NFL draft classes, particularly focusing on the quarterback selections from the 2020-2021 drafts. They critique the decisions made by various teams, expressing concerns about the long-term effectiveness of some of the drafted quarterbacks.
Chad Johnson (43:17): "I think Bill Belichick did him a huge disservice."
Jeff T (44:37): "Yes, sir."
Chad shares his disappointment with how certain quarterbacks have been managed post-draft, citing coaching changes and offensive strategies as factors that have hindered their development. They debate the best approaches teams should take to nurture quarterback talent and avoid past mistakes that have led to underperformance despite high draft picks.
In addition to the main topics, Chad and Jeff engage in personal anecdotes and interact with listener questions, adding a relatable and entertaining dimension to the episode. They share stories about relationships, music preferences, and humorous exchanges, showcasing their chemistry and rapport.
Chad Johnson (55:04): "That was good."
Jeff T (66:32): "I love that quote. Boy."
These segments provide a break from the intense NFL discussions, allowing listeners to connect with the hosts on a more personal level and enjoy lighter moments amidst the sports analysis.
