North Korea on Tuesday commissioned its largest-ever warship, a 5,000-ton destroyer that military analysts say could give Pyongyang’s adversaries something more to think about in a time of crisis. In a speech at Nampho Shipyard on the country’s west coast, leader Kim Jong Un said the introduction represented a new chapter in its military history, declaring that its navy has “put an end to over 70 years of its stagnation.” He alluded to difficulties along the way, saying the country’s naval buildup “is never plain sailing,” perhaps referring to the troubles of the Choe Hyon’s sister ship, the Kang Kon, which capsized during its launch in May 2025. 0:00 North Korea unveils largest-ever warship 0:38 CNN's Will Ripley reports from Taipei 1:24 Kim Jong Un: this ends "70 years of stagnation" in North Korean navy 3:23 Ex-US ambassador to South Korea Christopher Hill reacts 6:18 Hill: "How much technology is Russia providing North Korea?" 7:27 June 4: CNN's Will Ripley reports on North Korea's nuclear ambitions, military buildup Watch 24/7 live news with CNN Headlines: https://bit.ly/4eIvlTr #NorthKorea #Warship #News

Trump’s insistence on the “SAVE America Act” — threatening to tank a major political win on affordability — drew quick backlash from some congressional Republicans. Some wondered why the president was sabotaging their carefully coordinated strategy to show voters that they are working on cost-of-living issues ahead of the midterms. When President Donald Trump sat down for an interview in March with New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan for their new book, he showed them a document arguing he was more powerful than some of the most feared and treacherous leaders in history — including Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Stalin, Mao, and Hitler. The anecdote is one of many striking scenes captured in Haberman and Swan’s new book, “Regime Change,” which was obtained by CNN ahead of its release on Tuesday. The book provides a blunt, behind-the-scenes portrait of the first 14 months of Trump’s second term, in which the president has wielded his power without constraint — often in a haphazard, improvisational manner — to persecute his perceived enemies, rattle global markets and wage war abroad. 0:00 What Trump asked Macron about the Arc de Triomphe 3:53 The unusual keepsake Witkoff asked Putin for 4:57 How Trump has changed in his 2nd term Watch 24/7 live news with CNN Headlines: https://bit.ly/4eIvlTr #trump #politics #News
