I like to listen to music in different languages, but I'm going to talk only about Spanish music in this episode. In fact, I'm bringing you a text about a Mexican singer that I like a lot. This way you can practice some listening comprehension and get some new recommendations. I understand that listening comprehension activities can be tricky and that's why I organized this episode a little bit differently. I'm going to start with some key words, key vocabulary that you're going to find in the text that I will read. After going through these keywords, I'm going to tell you three questions that I will ask later. This way you know what information you should listen out for and that way it will be a little bit easier. After telling you the three points that you should be focusing on, I'll read the text twice. After reading the text those two times, I'll ask you again these three questions and then you can answer. After that I'll give you the answers.
C
Muy bien, pues todo listo vamos.
D
Let's start with some key vocabulary, you'll hear destacada is an adjective that means important.
C
Destacada. Then we have leiba.
D
And this is the name of a Spanish artist. We also have a lanzado. This is the perfect tense of the verb lanzar. And when it's related to music, it means has released. So it comes from the verb to release, a lanzado. We will also hear exitos como solista. So exitos is a masculine and plural noun that means hates. And then we have como solista, which in this case means solo. So this exitos como solista means solo hits. We'll also hear le a permitido. This is from the verb permitir and it means it has a load hair. Le a a permitido. And the last word in our vocabulary list is consolidando, se. This comes from the verb consolidar. So consolidando se means consolidating herself. So consolidar means to consolidate. Now the questions aque sededica Jimena. What does Jimena do for a Living? The point 2, Menciona Almenos dos Artistas con quienes haya collaborado mention at least two artists whom she has collaborated with. And the point 3 Nombra almenos uno.
