Foreign this is Coffee Number five. I'm your host, Lara Schmoizman. Hi, welcome back to Coffee Number five and today for you I have another mini episode and I hope you enjoy this one. So today let's talk about your website. Your website is your heart, it's your core, all the transactions, everything that will happen will happen in your website or through your website. Even if your website is connected to TikTok shop or to any other vendor, it's going to happen through your website. So what happens when your website doesn't perform well? That's one of the biggest issues I see with people that come to you first is like let's analyze your website. Is your website performing well? If your website is not performing well, your ads is not going to perform well, your organic search and even it will affect your of course your searchability, your visibility. Let's not even talk about AI that fit. Read my last newsletter, I explain all about that and SEO. But also it will affect your social media because now everything is interconnected. Social media needs keywords, it's all, all about searchability. Haven't you noticed that people are not using as many hashtags? Well, it's because everything is a keyword. Everything is about to be searchable. So that's one of the things that is important. Another thing that I notice a lot is that people are spending or companies are spending a lot of money in paid media, which I'm not saying that it's wrong, it's the right way to do it, but also you need to spend the right time and money on organic because paid media will not help the AI search engines. So you need to make sure that you really spend money in organic search and it's done correctly. Another day we'll talk more about keywords and why to use it. But today I want to talk to you about something else that it's called the tech stack. One of the things that I always do when I get get a new client is analyzer tech stack. What I also notice as I mean of course you want to have all these capabilities on your website but your tech stack can really affect your performance, your performance, your website speed loadings. You can have a lot of issues because you put too many plugins. It's so easy to put plugins nowadays and also it's so easy to if you start realizing how much you're paying in plugins sometimes can be a little fortune. So we need to analyze where your company is at, what is the level and what plugins are really needed for your website to operate well and then analyze. Maybe you're not using the right plugins. I've seen this too many times that companies use or websites use like 10 plugins that they do the same thing and they use one for different. Each one of them for different things. So that's why it's important. I know plugins are very tempting for you to buy it. You said that's why it's really important to work with someone that really understand each capability of the plugins and see how you can minimize them. It's not about how you spend or the money you spend because it can be $2, $5, but it's not about the money. Having too many plugins will affect the performance of website. Let's talk about something else now about performance and websites. We need to make sure that. And I want this is a myth and that working with agencies will be more expensive for you. No, if you work with agencies, first of all agencies can save you a lot of money just for doing the work right that many other people they want to do it. Also if you work with the right agency, the right agency will be working with you as an a cohesive strategy and not just doing one side of your business. Like for example, if you're doing ads, but you are not integrating that with organic search and there is no same strategies like speaking two different languages. The same with social media. But with that said also if you work with the right partners, they're going to give you discounts but working on different partners because they will have the right partners for you and they have benefits that they can pass to you. Also you can. They will understand at what. At what stage of your journey you are as a brand and they will make recommendations of what are the best plugins or apps for you to use at that time. So this is not only a marketing strategy, it's also a business decision that you need to make and understand where you are at this stage of your journey. Your you don't need absolutely all the whistles at the beginning. What you need is people attract people to your website. You can always add, there is always time to add. But if you don't have anyone coming to the website or you don't have sales, why are you going to be spending all this money in having absolutely everything the most beautiful website in the world, which by the way, by the time you put it live, it will be outdated already because there are always websites are evolving and you need to maintain. Oh, that's another one. So super important. As important as SEO extremely important to have website maintenance because there's something that people don't talk about which everyone believes that SEO is about keywords. SEO is also about technical. So we need to make sure that your website is performing right in order for you to be successful. In this mini episode, Lara Schmoisman delves into why the website is the "heart" of any business and a critical starting point for all business strategies. She emphasizes the interconnected role of a company website in digital performance, from searchability and SEO to paid media and tech infrastructure. Lara also explores the impact of plugins, the benefits of working with agencies, and ways to optimize both spending and website maintenance for lasting business success.
Lara positions the website as a business’s core operation hub.
All transactions and brand interactions ultimately route through the website, even if integrated with third-party vendors or platforms like TikTok Shop.
"Your website is your heart, it's your core, all the transactions, everything that will happen will happen in your website or through your website." — Lara Schmoisman [00:25]
Underperformance in your website cascades into poor results in advertising, organic search, and overall visibility.
Lara underscores the interconnectedness of digital channels: social, SEO, and paid media are all reliant on website health.
"If your website is not performing well, your ads is not going to perform well, your organic search...it will affect your searchability, your visibility." — Lara Schmoisman [00:50]
The importance of keywords has overtaken hashtags in discoverability, reflecting evolving search algorithms and social media trends.
"Social media needs keywords...it's all about searchability. Haven't you noticed that people are not using as many hashtags? Well, it's because everything is a keyword." — Lara Schmoisman [01:15]
While investing in paid media is not inherently wrong, Lara emphasizes not neglecting organic growth.
Paid media doesn’t contribute to AI-driven search engine optimization; organic is necessary for lasting visibility.
"Paid media will not help the AI search engines. So you need to make sure that you really spend money in organic search and it's done correctly." — Lara Schmoisman [01:45]
Lara identifies bloated tech stacks—mainly plugins—as a common culprit of poor website speed and performance.
"Your tech stack can really affect your performance, your website speed loadings. You can have a lot of issues because you put too many plugins." — Lara Schmoisman [02:20]
Many businesses overspend on unnecessary plugins, sometimes stacking multiple plugins that serve similar purposes.

She recommends working with someone who truly understands plugin capabilities and can minimize redundancy.
Lara argues that agencies aren’t always more expensive—in fact, the right agency can save money by "doing the work right."
Agencies offer strategic coherence across business functions (ads, organic, social, etc.) and may pass along partner discounts.
"A myth...that working with agencies will be more expensive for you. No, if you work with agencies, first of all agencies can save you a lot of money just for doing the work right..." — Lara Schmoisman [03:30]

Don’t overload your website with every possible feature or plugin from the start.
Focus resources on attracting visitors initially.
"You don't need absolutely all the whistles at the beginning. What you need is people attract people to your website." — Lara Schmoisman [04:25]
The idea of a "perfect" or "complete" website at launch is a myth: maintenance and updates are continuous.
"By the time you put it live, it will be outdated already because…websites are evolving and you need to maintain." — Lara Schmoisman [04:55]
Routine maintenance is a crucial (yet often overlooked) part of ongoing success and technical SEO.
SEO isn’t just about keywords; website functionality, speed, and technical health are also important.
