The holiday was first proclaimed in 1977 by the mayor of Buffalo, New York, the city widely recognized as the birthplace of the Buffalo wing. Since then, chicken wings have become a staple at everything from game nights and family cookouts to birthday parties and late-night cravings.

To celebrate, many popular restaurants are offering special deals on wings, including Wingstop, Applebee's, Dave & Buster's, 7-Eleven, and Popeyes. Whether you like traditional bone-in wings or boneless, it's a great day to enjoy one of America's favorite comfort foods.
