But before we lock it up, I did want to address the biggest news since the last time we were able to gather together, all four of us, and that was Michigan's hire of Kyle Whittingham. Bud and I were able to jump on real fast as the news was really bubbling up. Now that we've got everybody together, Danny, we, we've gotten here from Coach Whittingham at this point, so we've got a little bit more context in terms of his plans for the staff and, and what the team's going to look like. What do you make of the, the end result of the Wolverines landing? The I was wondering about this is, is Kyle Whittingham, if he had just retired, would he have been in the running for College Football hall of Fame? I think he has the win percentage.
C
Yeah, I think so. I, I think Michigan lucked into a great hire.
B
I was going to say, can you, can it be fair to say Michigan just fell backwards into landing a future College Football hall of Famer as it's.
C
And they, this was not part of their plan. It was not part of their future. It dropped right in their lap and thankfully they were at least smart enough to recognize it and take advantage of it because I think there is a possibility they might have talked themselves out of it. But I think this was easy. And from Kyle Whittingham stamp standpoint, I think he was somebody who was ready to ride off on his Harley into the sunset. Right. He's got 11 grandkids. You know, he's ready to just go spend time with family. I think this is the type of job and change of scenery that could really reinvigorate him as sort of a back end swan song for his career. So I think it's, I think it's great for all parties involved and I think for Utah, it's good too. I think Utah fans were kind of, I mean it's just the way college football fans are. Like, good luck. You wanted something else. Because I do think they wanted a change. They were ready for Morgan Scally's era to start, so they were kind of, you know, a little bit nudging him out the door and they could get what they want. Michigan gets a coach and Kyle Whittingham gets keep coaching. I think it's good.
D
I mean, I, I think the hire of Jay Hill is, is really good here. I think he did it. Is that official yet?
B
I, I saw, I was going to say Utah fans also might feel differently if some of their best assistants are going with Cittingham and BYU fans feel differently. Best assistance going with Whittingham. The idea that Kyle Whittingham just gets to pick two or three, I believe that's the quote. There's going to be two or three holdovers from the old staff and the rest of it is just going to be the A Kyle Whittingham all star squad. I mean, I, that's. It's not great for Utah, but we'll see. What was. I saw one quote. Whittingham with the chip on his shoulder is a maniac. The question is like, is, is this going to lead to Whittingham with the chip on his shoulder? I'm excited, excited to see if we get that.
D
Even if they just get like. It's a clear upgrade in my opinion over what you were getting with Shiron Moore. Right. Even before we knew all the Shiron Moore, you know, off the field stuff like just his resume. His qualifications I think are way better than Moore. I think he's bringing in a better staff than Moore. Even if it's only like a four or five year run.
E
I don't care.
D
I think you'd sign up for that. It's like stuff, likely stability and you know, also like potential, like real upside.
E
Very excited about Jason Beck and Bryce Underwood. Yeah, I mean I think if you're a Michigan, I think that you've upgraded it the head coaching position in that you have a more capable coach who has done it for a long time. So he's not learning on the job in a way you've upgraded to the offensive coordinator. And I think, I mean I don't, I don't know if Michigan's going to be jumping right to the top of the league again next year, but I definitely think the chance of doing so has increased. But the question for me still remains, like, you know, you've got to put some guys around Underwood. You've got to get in some receivers and all that kind of stuff. But I do think, yeah, like this is an incredible hire for Michigan, even if it's not a long term one.
D
That, that 20, 21 year when I personally think Beck had a lot to do with that offense that Virginia started running. And I know Robert and I was the oc, but like I knew some guys on that staff and they were like, hey, Beck has a lot to do with this. I mean, Brennan Armstrong went 65%, 4,449 yards, 31 touchdowns. Like that. That's pretty nasty.
B
Yeah, I think he had two NFL wide receivers too. So again, like you need to, we do need to take that wide receiver room for Michigan and he do what we can do to be able to.
D
The last time he's had like a real like NFL talent type quarterback, like I think Armstrong got like, probably got a cup of coffee in the league or at least like a pro, like he could throw the ball a little bit, you know, Damn. Pierre is not going to be a pro quarterback.
C
I think that's probably more impressive is that he's been able to create systems that work and win with different style. That's what good coaches do. He's going to play to your quarterback strength. So if it's Bryce Underwood, he's staying. He'll work to his strengths. If it's somebody else, he'll figure out a way to win and have an offense that's productive no matter what the quarterback looks like.
B
You know how I know that? Kyle Whittingham is 66 years old and it doesn't give a damn about like winning a press conference. Most coaches get hired and he, they come out the coach, what's it going to look like? And they're multiple, aggressive. Buzzword, buzzword. Kyle Whittingham got up there is like, we're going to be 11 personnel, we're going to be spread and this, we're going to run this play on first down. And this play, he just came out there and told you exactly what the Michigan offense is going to look like. And you know, maybe that is messaging to Bryce Underwood, but I don't think he needs a press conference to message to Bryce Underwood. I'm sure that those conversations, in fact, I know that those conversations are already taking place, but I'm, it's, it is a coach who, it was not on the backsliding on the back end of his career. If you look at winning the Pac12, a competitive Pac12, two times in the last four seasons, you know as they were on the way out the door, I just, the more that I've thought about it and again like Bud, not you and I. You and I went live on Friday kind of mid morning, right. So it even hadn't been announced. But the more that we hear, the more that we learn, the more enthusiastic I am about what this can do for Michigan in terms of like for talking to a Michigan fan. It's like this is the, the Dusty May hire. That's the way they look at it. Where you had, you had John B. Line, Juwan Howard, then Dusty May and then you've, you've again like you had your coach and you went to the coach, the guy after the guy and then you feel really good about what you've got with the next one coming in.
C
Most importantly, they need right now he's got a pretty pristine reputation, you know, that's desperately what what Michigan needs.
B
The Instagram audit did get me a little, you know, it's like he only follows 11 females on Instagram and all of them he's related to. An immediate audit of Kyle Whittingham's Instagram following.
D
And he last posted in like, like 2018.
B
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
C
Did you guys see this? Go ahead, Tom.
D
I cut you off.
E
I said on HQ that he, he doesn't even look at his own Instagram, let alone anybody else's.
A
Right?
C
He definitely is not on Instagram Ward Manual because they use turnkey. But then he was like this was my guy, this is who I told them to hire.
E
Turnkey. Still gonna expect that check.
D
So I agree.
B
Say whatever you want, bro.
C
I want to point out though the.
D
Next shoe to drop because we talked.
E
About this when we were kind of discussing before all the Sharon stuff dropped and just about like what Michigan was going to do going forward. Like their schedule next year is brutal.
D
Thank you for bringing this up.
E
Yeah, they, they play Oklahoma, Indiana, Iowa, Penn State and they're at Oregon and they're at Ohio State. Like this could be a 7 and 5 team next year even with winning it.
D
And like an annoying game like at Minnesota, a game that you would be expected to win, but it's not a game. You won't be a 25 point favorite there in, in Minneapolis.
B
You mean LSU in, in Golden Maroon. Yeah, I've been told, I've been told that Minnesota. That was wild.
E
That's a very funny stat.
B
You know who else has a similar stat profile? The NC State Wolf Pack. Same timetable. A lot of those numbers line up too. Remarkable stuff.
D
One of the responses was like and fired coaches 0 and 2.
B
Anything else on the Whittingham hires before I know that the people are. Are hungry for the locks. So anything we want to make sure we address here we staff is, you know who gets retained, do you think?
E
I don't know. It's hard to say at this time of year.
D
Yeah, I don't know. I would assume not many on defense, but maybe.
B
The tearful Wink Martindale press conference at the Citrus bowl was a, an odd spot for us to maybe get a window into what might be happening there. Yeah, but you know, that's. I would assume that he's not going to be a part of the staff in 2026. All right. Coming up on the other side, we turn our attention to the College Football playoff quarterfinals with our very best bets. It's the CFP, locks and more.

Back here on the COVID 3 podcast. And it is with great joy that I ask a question in advance. The four games that will set the semifinals in motion for the cfp. I say, gentlemen, y' all ready to lock it up?
E
Yes, sir. Since 2005, the under in games between service academies is 49 and 1.
C
Give me an over in this one as well.
D
A little two for one special. I was a sicko last week. Y' all were watching the good games. I was live betting the hell out of UL in Kentucky. My blue plate special five star locks are coming.
B
Five star master their lock.
E
Lock it. I'm.
A
I'm.
B
I'm living and dying.
D
Every. Every point, every cover.
B

And that's why there's Cash App. It's fast, safe and honestly, just way more personalized than other apps out there. Our thanks to Cash App for sponsoring the pursuit of the Cash App trophy. We will begin with a look at New Year's Eve down in Dallas as the Miami Hurricanes coming off that huge win against Texas A and M. Now they take on Ohio State. We haven't seen the Buckeyes since that 13:10 defeat to Indiana. It was their lone defeat in their 13 game campaign so far. Looking at it right now as we are sitting together, I've got Ohio State around nine and a half point favorite. You can maybe find some nines out there over, under sitting around maybe 41 and a half or so. So who's got a luck?
E
Spoiler alert. I have a lock for all four of these games.
D
I actually do as well. Yeah.
B
Okay, well then who wants to get the lock started?
E
I'll go. All right, go tell give me Miami plus nine and a half. I do think that if you look at how Ohio State season has gone, they've played two teams with very good defensive fronts, Texas and Indiana. Two teams that gave them a whole hell of a lot of trouble. And I do think that Miami defensively will be able to give Ohio State some problems. I don't know if they will be able to give him as many problems as they gave Texas A and M, but I do think they will do enough to keep this game closer and at least limit the big plays that Ohio State is capable of hitting against just about everybody else. I think that they will put Julian saying under pressure and we have seen saying when he's under pressure make some mistakes that we typically don't see him make. So while I believe Ohio State does win this game more often than not, I think the spread is a little large. So I, I did like it a lot more when it opened at like 10 in some places. Now that it's down to nine and a half I don't like it as much but I still think it's the right side to be on.
D
So it's not a direct fight. I am going to lock UP Ohio State -4 in the first half. The thing I really want to play but I can't keep it on the lock. But I, I, you know would if I could. I, I would. Is like Miami first half team total under.
B
Why can't we give that out?
D
Because it's like minus 160 Gus and that's just really not fair for locks. So I was looking for something like the accent give out on the show but I, I don't think Miami's scoring 10 points in the first half. So like eight and a half there to the under something I'm interested in. I do think Ohio State's defense is likely going to have a good bit of success here. I think they are a better run defense than Texas A and M. Texas like Texas A and M, they, they, they kind of jump out of gap sometimes and take some chances. Ohio State doesn't really do that as much that I think they make you earn it a little bit more. And I also think like the, the number of coverages Ohio State plays and how well they play them is likely to cause some confusion for you. Miami with the receivers and also back, obviously.
B
So what'd you say you had it at? Because I saw a Miami first half team total under 7 at minus 110.
D
Let me look here. So I have first half team total is like eight and a half, minus 58 and a half, minus 56, eight and a half, minus 60. I mean if we can get a. I'll certainly take it under seven at even Juice. Yeah, if we can find it. Let me look here. You check, you, you check, check Vandu. I'll check something. We're not going to give like no, no free ads.
B
Okay. All right. Danny, where are you going on this one, man?
C
Wasn't this 42 and a half morning?
D
Yeah, it got bit down all.
C
I'll still go under. I don't love it as much, but I think there's a lot of defensive talent on both sides of the ball. I know there's a lot of, a lot of offensive talent too. But I do think you could see both quarterbacks struggle somewhat. Both protection. You know, getting rid of the ball, taking sacks does scare me a little bit of the big play capabilities. You know, all it takes is one or two. You know, you get some of those, you could have a pick six come into play. But I still think Miami's commitment to the run and I think that Carson Beck will throw it better, but I just don't picture him lighting it up. I think they want to try to run the football just like they did against A and M. Keep the ball as long as they can, go slow, keep it away from Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate. So I'll go under. There's a, there's a lot of NFL talent on both of these defensive sides. I mean there's all over the field, but I do think, and there's on offense too, but I think defenses will dominate.
B
But a quick check of, of where you can play your game was a minus 146 at seven and a half. Yeah, I, I'll stay off that. I'll just go with the first half.
D
Under and another side at six and a half plus 30. So I, I, yeah, yeah, I'm just.
B
Gonna go first half. I'll lock up first half. Under. Can I get a 21 and a half?
E
Yeah. Not in any juice. I can see that's acceptable.
B
All right, I'll take 20 and a half.
E
Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I got a 21.
B
Oh, yeah. Let's go.
E
No, no, wait. There's 21 and a half. 21 and a half.
B
Yeah. Okay, so lines of scrimmage. And also, I cannot stop thinking about something that our friend Tom Fornelli said, which is.
E
Oh, no.
B
Lots of things echo in my brain, Tom, at the very beginning of the College Football Playoff, when, you know, there the field is announced, and they're asking for all the predictions of what it's going to look like a month and a half from now. And it was like, who. Who do you think is going to end up being the most outstanding player? And, Tom, do you remember who you said for that CBS Sports HQ segment?
E
I. Do you want to tell the people?
B
Oh, okay. Bo Jackson.
E
There we go.
B
And I was like, yeah, I could. I could see Ohio State going right into a. Let's. Let's run the football. Let's establish the lines of scrimmage. Now I think that we've got. Demari Brown is likely out. I think other defensive injury issues looks like they should be okay for Miami, perhaps.
D
I think it was Motori.
B
Tory. Tory's not on the injury report. Motor should be. Oh, good. I know that was another big one that people had their eyes on as well, but I just. I could see early in this game, Ohio State going back into that big game attitude of we're gonna. We're just gonna sit in here, we're just gonna run this football, we're gonna establish it, and. And that going up against a very, very good Miami defensive front could lead to a. A very stalemate style first half without a lot of explosive plays, not gonna take a lot of chances, not gonna put Julian saying in a lot of damaging positions or potentially damaging positions. So, you know, with all of that being played out, I mean, Danny, I like your. So. But my. My lock for this one will be first half under the 21 and a half. So Tom's got to play on the side. Danny. Tom, any. I mean, Danny, Bud, any. Any sort of liens on the way the final score ends up looking?
D
Yeah, I mean, I. I do think it's a fair point. Several people brought up in the chat. I think I saw Ryan said as well, like, hey, Ohio State didn't score anywhere close to 27 against, like, the two defenses that they played. We think are. Are really good in Indiana and Texas. Like, why are they scoring 27 here? It's. It's a good point. I do think that there is some chance that Tate and Smith are healthier in this game and have a little more juice with that time off. Also, do you see any improvement with Ryan Day calling the place?
C
I don't think that has any impact on this game this season. I think he's been calling plays most of the season. You know, like, I think that has been so overblown. Like, I just don't think it's even a story. I get why, you know, he comes out. Maybe it gives them a little more confidence to make it public, but I don't think it's that much of an impact.
E
If. If you're Mario Cristobal and you're talking today on the field before the game starts, as all coaches are want to do, do you just. Just lean in and be like, I don't think you guys are man enough to run the ball on us all day and just go back to your sidelines?
B
Yes. Yes.
D
Do you. Do you think that they are going to go back and watch that tape from Texas A M and say, we should have pounded the ball more and earlier and come out and try to do it here? Because when Chip was talking first half under, I was like, I. I would not be surprised if they go out and try to establish it. We also don't know if Ohio State's going to go some tempo here. You know, they did last neutralize the pass rush effort. Well, remember how slow they played last year throughout the entire season. And then like, you got a little tempo against Tennessee, right. You got a little tempo against Oregon. They. I guarantee they don't practice slow. Right. Like, teams practice pretty fast to get a lot of reps in. You know, I wouldn't be shocked if they go tempo here in the first day. Like, like to open up this ball game. Miami, I don't think will.
E
That would be.
D
I'd be surprised.
B
Yeah. Great. Great legend. You know, if. If Miami does end up winning and we get to like, really dig in on the tails. The. The way that I think Shannon Dawson told the story was Carson Beckham, in all of his football wisdom, was the one who said we should run the ball up the middle. So, you know, we'll see if that ends up building into something again. That's the way Shannon Dawson told it. So who. Who knows but the car. The legend of Carson Beck, he'll have his chance to. To have his stamp on this game again. That one will be Wednesday night, 7:30pm Eastern time. Kickoff from North Texas in Jerry world. The Cotton bowl quarterfinal between Miami and Ohio State. That gets us on in to Thursday's New Year's Day action which will start in the Orange Bowl. Oregon and Texas Tech. Who wants to get us started? Ducks. Ducks.
C
Quack, quack. I mean, I, I think it's pretty known on this show I picked Oregon to win the national championship. I think they're going to get right at the right time. I think the perfect outcome against James Madison occurred where, you know, people are maybe down on them saying, oh, maybe their defense is overrated because they gave up some points late. I think they come in a little bit surly because of that. I also think that Texas Tech, as good as their defense has been and statistically they're off the charts. They have not faced a quarterback or an offense with the type of weapons that Oregon has. I think Oregon has the edge at offensive line. I don't think it's that much of a, an edge for Texas Tech and their defensive front seven over Oregon's defensive front seven. I think they're really good too. I think Oregon's the better team. I'm gonna lay them.
D
Lock agreement.
B
Whoa. Yeah, here we go.
D
And, and I do think Texas Tech is really well coached on defense. I think they have really good players on defense. I just trust Dante more better. Like the guy just. I think he's just really, really good and I, I just trust him to make big time throws and, and to make, like to throw the ball accurately and, and to play, to play like really high level court. He might be the best quarterback in, in this tournament. You know, Mendoza won the Heisman and I'm not saying he's better than those, but I think there's a chance. I think he's in that conversation and I'm gonna ride with a better quarterback here.
E
Gentlemen.
B
Oh, buddy.
D
Oh, buddy.
E
I have to ask you, who were the best defensive fronts that Oregon saw this year?
B
Oh, okay. You would say Indiana. Indiana, clearly.
E
Yep.
C
Penn State.
E
Yep. There you go. And don't forget Iowa. In those games. Oregon scored 17 points in regulation against Penn State. They scored 20 points against Indiana, and they scored 18 points against Iowa. I think Texas Tech's defensive line is better than all three of those teams. I think Texas Tech will do a much better job defensively against Oregon than they're used to seeing. I think that they can do a good job of keeping Dante Moore in the pocket. And I think that's where you want Dante Moore. I think when Dante Moore gets out of the pocket, he is absolutely incredible. When he's in there, he's still good, but he's not quite the same player. Which is why I am not nearly as confident in Oregon winning this game as you guys are. What I am confident in is that Texas Tech won't score a lot of points. I think Texas Tech can win this game by not scoring a lot of points because I think defensively they can slow down Oregon. But I also think it is possible that Oregon figures them out, solves them and scores a bunch of points and wins the game and they don't score much either way. So I am taking Texas Tech team total under 26 and a half.
B
That's a good number.
E
Yeah.
B
I mean, I think we, we are aligned in terms of our, our vision here. But what's. What about the Oregon side of it? You just, you could see it coming down either way because that's. I do see this. I don't want my confidence in a Ducks pick to look like discredit for who Texas Tech is or who Texas Tech has done. But as I game out what I think will happen on the field, ultimately I'm gonna need one, one of these teams to put together some kind of score. And Dante Moore has risen up in multiple key situations to be able to deliver exactly what Oregon needs, whether it's a higher scoring game or a lower scoring game, whether the wind is pouring or whether the conditions are more favorable. And by the way, we'll be a little bit, you know, cooler than you. You would think for South Florida, you know, perfect. It'll be 65 and Sunny Park a day for Danny. 65 degrees, you know, turtleneck. Yeah, turtleneck in full effect. But I, I just, I could see that if you need either a Dante in two and a half, and it opened at one and a half and just right away I was like, I just. If it's a close game, and I do see it being a close game, I have. So I have more trust in Dante more than I do in Baron Morton to be able to lead the drive that you need to win the football game.
E
Yeah, I, I also think that a lot of what Oregon has done over the last six weeks has been built on their run game. And Texas Tech's been pretty damn good against the run. Now, the one caveat I would put with that is the best rushing offenses Tech has faced this year don't have quarterbacks nearly as good as Dante Moore. So they were more able to kind of load up and stop those rushing attacks and they probably will be able to in this game. It's just I. Oregon to me is still a mystery. Like I think when they're fully healthy they could be a national title like kind of team, but they also could just be who they've been all year, which is a very good team that hasn't really been complete and has problems sometimes with, with other good teams.
D
I, I'm a little bit still skeptical of Oregon's back seven as far as some coverage stuff, you know, but I think their offense is. I think it's pretty bankable. Like they've been able to win in multiple different ways. I, I like the offense a whole lot.
B
One piece here that I think will be very important to watch. Tom, you, you mentioning the Big 12 defenses that they faced. I want the Texas Tech's average third down distance is not great and that's against defenses that aren't as good as Oregon's. If they consistently find themselves in third and seven, third and eight, third and nine type situations, I think it's going to be very, very difficult to stay on the field and keep drives alive. I think they've been able because they do have great talent and athleticism and the playmaking. I think they've been able to bail themselves out of some of those scenarios against some lesser defenses. So I guess, I mean it falls in line with your Texas Tech team total under. But that was another thing that I was looking at when I was trying to figure out what to expect from Texas Tech. Steve, offense going up against Oregon's defense.
E
Chip, read my naughty and nice story.
B
Oh, the, the third down and distant. The third down average distance.
D
All right.
B
Love that. You know, I thought we were going to have our first infinity of the season there too. We had zero infinities all year. And you know what? That's okay. We're not doing it just for the gimmicks. All right. If it comes together, it was meant to be. Anything else that we want to throw on the books for the Orange Bowl?
D
I mean scoring in the red zone pretty huge. Yeah, right. Texas Tech's offense has been like pretty largely kind of. Yeah. In the Resident we talked about this a few times that there are some games where they eventually did blow the team out. But it's like, ah, man, they really should have killed this team like much earlier in the game. And we're nitpicking but obviously like the schedule is not quite as good. So like. But honestly, Oregon's defensive stuff in the red zone has been Kind of poor this year. So, like maybe they can score.
B
Then we will pivot our attention to Pasadena and the Sunset Rose bowl will be the location of the number one team in the country, the Indiana Hoosiers taking on Alabama after the Crimson Tide were able to go into Norman and knock out Oklahoma. Who wants to get us started? What's the play here, boys? It's the best bet. Go.
C
I'll lay six and a half with Indiana. I'll lay it before it potentially gets up there to seven. I see some place. It's already seven. I am not convinced that Alabama has solved their issues against Oklahoma. Does concern me if Ty, you know, if they propel some momentum off the 170 comeback. But Fernando Mendoza is not going to hand them a pick six the way that John Mateer did, which was about one of the most basic reads you've seen messed up from a qb. I'm mildly concerned about Stephen Daley, the loss for him on the defensive side of the ball for the Hoosiers, but I still think they're the better football team across the board. I still am not convinced that Alabama's offensive line issues are fixed. Their ability to run the ball still an issue. And as good as Ty Simpson has been at times, I'm not going to bank on him going out there and going toe to toe with Fernando Mendoza. So I like Kirk Signetti. I like the Hoosiers.
E
Mendoza did gift Oregon a pick six.
C
He did.
D
Against the better defenses that he has played. Like the touchdown interception ratio has not been good.
B
Where it's. Yeah, it's. If you take. It's about 50, 50 and if you take the other. It's insane.
C
Like, look at his game. Look at his game against Ohio State. Like, his numbers were pedestrian, right? 15, 22, one touchdown, one interception, but he clearly won that game with some of the throws and plays that he made.
D
Yeah, he's also been taking a lot more sacks the second half of this year, like whatever. Now, granted they had some office line injuries. Those guys are back. So that. That should help them.
B
So is it. What's it going to be? I got two plays on this one little two for one chip.
D
Go ahead. Because I'm trying to figure exactly what I want to give out here.
B
Okay. All right. We're going to start with the over. Okay. I think the loss of one of your best pass rushers is going to be beneficial to Ty Simpson and to Alabama's ability to push the ball down the field through the air. I think that while Alabama is extremely talented as A defense, I don't throw them up there as one that I don't. I don't see them in a game against a quarterback and against an offense that has been fairly productive. I don't see them being able to, you know, just totally choke them out. I mean, I just. I think Fernando Mendoza is too good. I think that that whole offense has just been playing at too high a level. They have upgraded along the offensive line. Those Alabama bodies that get off the bus look about the same as the Ohio State bodies that got off the bus. And you know, they, they weren't overwhelmed in that situation. They didn't light up the scoreboard. That's 13 to 10. I realized what I'm. What I'm stepping into, but I, I just see this one. What are we getting? 48 and a half, right?
E
47 and a half, if you want the over.
B
Yeah, yeah, 47 and a half. I, I just. The, the different game. I see a really good game being played out between these two and so I like taking the over and then my, My second piece of this. I mean, come on, y'. All. I mean, come on, come on. It doesn't matter whether you're in Bloomington. It doesn't matter whether you're in Indianapolis, and it definitely does not matter if you're in Pasadena. And it does not matter whether the sun has or has not set or if the clouds are or are not in the sky. Indiana, Hoosiers, they smoke it through the filter. Indiana, fourth quarter minus a half a point.
D
All right, so I, I do think that I forgot what I want to get out here. We're going to give out over 23 and a half in the first half.
B
I like that.
D
I like to bore to open games. Obviously not. They did not have very good opening that game against Oklahoma, but I, I do think that, like, historically comes out pretty fast in a lot of these big games. Someone continue to ride with that. I, I don't know. I think Bama's defense was a lot better with Jefferson back and they should be getting Overton back. But I do still think Mendoza is pretty good. Like, despite the touchdown interception stuff, I think he is like one of the best quarterbacks they would have faced all year and I do think he'll be able to have some success here. So I, I like over 23 and a half first.
E
I have a lock agreement, but with who? Mystery. I don't know. The over 47 and a half.
B
Sorry.
E
I was going to go with fourth quarter just to be strained. I. Yeah, Chip, you Said a lot of it. I do think that Indiana offensively will be able to move the ball like they. They push the ball vertically in the passing game. We saw Oklahoma do that in the first round and we saw Oklahoma have a lot of success doing it. And if a running back could catch, it might have been a very different result. I think Indiana will be able to do that. I also think on the other side, the loss of Daley does hurt Indiana. Not just because he's the team's leader in tackles for loss, but because Indiana, for as good as their defense has been, this is not a program that has stacked top 25, you know, recruiting classes on top of one another. They don't have that same kind of depth as a lot of the teams that they're going to be facing in this tournament. So I think the loss of him will have a serious impact on them. The good news is they have had time to prepare without him because they got the buy and the extra time to get ready for this game. But I still think Alabama passing wise, like, if you look at the one weakness Indiana's kind of had defensively, it's they do allow explosives in the passing game. And I think Alabama is very capable of creating explosives in the passing game. So I think that they will be able to move the ball not consistently because they have not moved the ball consistently all season long, but enough to get points on the board and keep themselves in this game, which is why I'm staying away from the spread. But I do think, I mean, we're not asking for a whole hell of a lot here. Like give me a 27 to 24 kind of game and work over pretty comfortably.
B
Any anything else here.
D
I don't hate that. I. I just like, I think we'll see pretty quickly, like how big is the loss of daily and we haven't seen them without that. But like going back to the preseason, that's like two of their top three pass rushers out, right? They already lost much his name earlier. So like maybe Bama can handle those guys up front. I mean the Indiana backers and D tackles are like really good. They don't. They just tend to like not blow fits at all in the run game and it's pretty impressive to watch. So like does Bam even try to run it? They might just come out and chuck it.
B
I also will not feel like I know, you know the. You know our friend Parker Fleming. Nice. Very nice. Now let's see the unscripted drives. You know, like if Alabama comes out and they're just chucking it and they're just moving it down the field. If I'm an Indiana fan or if I'm Danny and I'm sitting on it, I'm not going to panic. Right, because you still at least have enough time. And as we have given him credit all season long, Bryant Haynes, the Indiana defensive coordinator, I would trust him to be able to, either in game or especially at halftime, be able to try to make some tweaks and adjustments. But yeah, if you're Kaylin DeBoer, if you're Ryan Grubb, I mean from the vibes department, all this Michigan nonsense, all this Penn State nonsense, all of it settled, man, you just, you dump the playbook out and you just do you do whatever you can to be able to move this football. Because this is, this is the game to leave it on the field. The Rose bowl, of course, where Nick Saban coached his final game as Alabama's head coach, losing in overtime to the Michigan Wolverines just a couple seasons ago. That brings us to the final game of New Year's Day down in New Orleans. The Sugar bowl between Georgia and Ole Miss. First time we saw this game, it was an eight point victory, high scoring game for the Dogs. So what's it going to look like this time with a little bit of a changeover in coaching staff on the Ole Miss side and some, I mean we can address them here or in big game breakdown, some changes also personnel wise in terms of availability on the Georgia side as well. Right now I just need to know what's the lock.
E
This would be.
D
Oh, sorry, I'm going, I'm going under 56 and a half. I think Georgia's defense has played really well down the stretch. Heat even accounting for like some of the teams they played. I think that they have just like kind of gelled as a unit. Kirby's talked about like the importance of playing some of these younger guys earlier in the season. I think they've really come together. They look really good to me. On the other hand, I'm a little skeptical of what Georgia's offense has looked like over the past six quarters. And I know they scored points on Alabama, but if you watch the game, I wasn't blown away. I'm not saying they sucked, but like I wasn't just blown away with how they moved. It obviously had some very favorable field position. There was almost like no downfield stuff in that game. Now granted they've been really good with the screen stuff this year, especially to Branch on the outside. The run Game has. Has come along. I, I bet you they kind of stick with what has worked for them and lean on the defense and that this is not the shootout that we had in that game back in October.
B
Tom.
E
I do think it will be. Oh, I, I think it'll be one team shooting it out. I, if, if I was doing a lock of the week this week, this would be it. Georgia minus six and a half. Georgia had the ball for eight full possessions in the first meeting. Georgia scored on all eight possessions. Ole Miss did not stop them a single time. Ole Miss does not force turnovers on defense. That means if Ole Miss is going to keep up in this game, they're going to have to pretty much score in every possession. Now, in the first meeting, they did a very good job of doing that. I just don't think that based on what we saw from Kirby in the second half, or at least the fourth quarter of that game and what we've seen from Kirby all year long in this Georgia team making adjustments. Very skeptical. Ole Miss is going to have that same kind of success. I think Georgia's going to be ready for it. I think Georgia is going to slow them down. I think George is going to blow him out. I think of the four games this week in this round, this is the one with the greatest chance of being a blowout, both because of the matchup and both because Ole Miss kind of had like a. Maybe an emotional kind of blowout in that game against Tulane. Just with everything that had happened and maybe now that you're moving on to the second round, you've kind of left it all on the field. And also, I will point out Tulane moved the ball very well against Ole Miss in that game. They just didn't finish drives. So if Tulane was able to do it, I think Georgia will be able to do it again. I. This is. This is my lock of the week. Georgia minus six and a half.
C
Let the children sing. I think Georgia's the better football team. I think we already saw this matchup once, and I know it was in Athens. But you mentioned the success that Ole Miss had through three quarters of that game. Some of those long, sustained drives.
B
You.
C
Only Kirby Smart is going to take away what Ole Miss did well the first portion of that game. And I think Georgia's defense is probably one of the most improved units in the last six weeks of the season. You know, and they just started to get. They started to play better as a group. They started to get more pressure. They started to kind of figure things out. I Think Georgia rolls here. The other thing that Ole Miss has not faced yet without Lane Kiffin is much adversity. That's the one place where you do wonder, how do they handle all of a sudden if they are down, if it is 10 to 3, 14 to 3, how do they respond in that situation? I'm not sure, but I feel like I do trust Georgia no matter how the game unfolds. And kind of to Tom's point, this to me would be the biggest upset of the weekend. If you saw Ole Miss beat Georgia, that to me would be the most shocking outcome of the weekend.
B
I agree, like with. Without hesitation. Right. Look at Oregon, Texas Tech, coin flip of coin flips. Miami beating Ohio State would rival it. But we don't have the extra. It becomes more of a Miami story, I think at that point. Right. Like, oh my goodness, you know, very focused on like the you. But yeah, Ole Miss with Pete Golding, after everything that they've been through and after everything that's about to happen, as soon as their season is done, them taking out Georgia and also, you know, talk about whether it would be a Miami story or an Ohio State story. That would be two straight one and done showings for the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar bowl quarterfinal. That would be awfully surprising. So a little two for one special on this as well. Think that early on Pete golden will have the boys ready to go and yeah, maybe, maybe we are going to warm up a little. Let's go. Let's go. A little first half, under 27 and a half. Okay, but then what happens? Then what? What does the Georgia Bulldogs roadmap look like? Right? You know, like when you're going through those highways and insert your Georgia driving jokes here, you know, like, I think that as long as you follow the posted speed limits, you can get to a great place by going a little slower through the first half. And then you find the great way, like that extra route that you need, you know, that last little bit to save a little time to get right where you need to be. With the two for one special, you cash them both. Because after the first half, under comes Georgia in the third quarter minus a half a point. They've been great in the third quarter all daggum year. And I'm just, I. I just got to think that on the big stage in New Orleans, they know that that's going to be the time that you put Ole Miss in a box. And why? Because you want to get them thinking right? You want to get them thinking about January 2nd, not January 1st. You want to get them thinking about January 2nd, about where they're going to be playing, about what kind of uniforms they're going to be wearing. Kirby's all about the mental game. Eliminate their will to compete. Get them texting their agents before the end of this. This is a Georgia team that once ate chicken from the field level suites as they were running it up on tcu. They want to get Ole Miss going to their training bags, texting their agents. So first half under 27 and a half. Georgia in the third quarter minus a half a point.
C
Did the dentist have a pick or is it.
E
Yes, he did.
B
Yes.
D
Here we go. All right. The Dennis will be in New Orleans for the Sugar bowl on New Year's and I have two concerns for the Rebels. I have some concerns for New Orleans Dennis there.
E
All right.
D
The first is the left shoulder of Kawan Lake. I don't expect it to bother him too much carrying the ball, but I have concerns for his pass block. He has been one of the best pass blocking running backs I've ever seen and I worry the shoulder could have an effect there. That's true. Yeah, we talked about all year. Like that guy, he gives his body up for that. Secondly, the matchup was deadly in the or that the matchup that was deadly in the first matchup was Georgia's tight ends against Ole Miss's safeties. I don't know what Ole Miss can do to try to offset this mismatch. I'm assuming you try to get more pressure on qb, but if they can't get to Stockton, this might be a big problem. Again, my Ole Miss locks record has been a disaster this year even though almost all those picks should have hit. Oh. So I hope that trade continues with this pick. Give me Georgia team total over 31 and a half. Ah.
B
I think you could probably get him a 30 and a half, right? I was looking at that one.
D
Yeah, probably.
C
Let's see.
E
You can.
D
All right, let's go. And then also he has a pick on Vandy which I know we're probably not doing locks on ball games right now but. Well, Ole Miss picks have been a disaster this year. My Vandy picks have been money. I believe this vanity team will take this game seriously and play with something to prove after being left out of the playoffs. IO usually has a pretty good effort in bowl games, but I'm not sure they'll be able to score enough to keep up. Give me the doors. Minus four and a half no stars off season show idea. We should rank like the most legitimate versus the most illegitimate. Hey, we got snubbed for the playoff claims now that we have like a decade of playoff.
B
Like take it all the way back to tcu, Baylor, Right?
D
Yeah.
B
And then all the way up to the 10 and two teams from this year, your Notre Dames and like. Yeah, I guess. Are you talking about including Texas and Vandy.
E
Right.
D
Like if, if your coach was campaigning or whining for it. Like we should rate it on like how ridiculous. Like what's your claim?
B
Yeah. 2016 Penn State from the tailgate. Not a bad one.
D
Yeah, agreed.
B
They want me.
D
This could be a fun offseason show.
B
Yeah, I like that. Well, we'll, we will make a note for sure. And don't worry, we will have a word on, on that game coming up in Bolnanza, even if it is not one of our official locks. But to review, buds got Ohio State in the first half minus 4, Oregon minus 2 and a half. Alabama, Indiana first half over 23 and a half and Ole Miss, Georgia under 56 and a. Chips on Miami, Ohio State first half under 21 and a half. Oregon minus 2 and a half. ALABAMA, INDIANA over 47 and a half. INDIANA fourth quarter minus a half a point. Ole Miss, GA first half under 27 and a half and Georgia minus a half a point. Danny Scott, Miami, Ohio State under 41 and a half. Oregon minus two and a half, Indiana minus six and a half, Georgia minus six and a half and Tom's on Miami, the U plus nine and a half. Texas Tech team total under 26 and a half. Alabama, Indiana over 47 and a half in Georgia minus six and a half. And those were the locks sponsored by Cash App. As you heard me say at the top of the show, new Cash App users can use our code to get free money. Use our code cover 3. Send $5 to a friend within 14 days and you'll get $10 right in your account. Thank you to Cash App. And coming up on the other side, our money line, sprinkles for the quarterfinals plus bonanza. Get you set for the week and more nukes. Back here on the COVID 3 podcast. And now it's time for Moneyline sprinkles brought to you by FanDuel. Play your game. All right. Now, you don't have to sprinkle anything, but there are sprinkles available to be won, like when you sprinkled Miami in the first round of the College Football Playoff. So let's see, what are we sprinkling here today? Bud.
D
Bama I just think it's the really high variance game among the two that are or well I'm among the three that that are you know touchdown plus like Bama plus two 15 is the best.
E
220.
D
I'll take 220. Yeah I, I do think that like the. The variance without having daily is potentially there so give me Bama plus 220.
C
Danny give me the Hurricanes to beat Ohio State. I'm not sure what the best number it is. The only thing that made me nervous why I didn't take them nine and a half is the number I think big so maybe the odds makers are right. Maybe it's pretty convincing cruising win for Ohio State but I think, I think Miami matches up really well. I think Carson Beck has played a lot better. He's protected the football. Saw that against Texas A and M not making the big mistake. Took the sack, did have the one fumble was a little bit fluky that he fell on but I think he plays clean and I think you're going to see a steady dose of Mark Fletcher and maybe a Malachi Tony player too. That might be all they need in the lower scoring game.
E
Tom, give me Alabama plus 220. Oh roll tide give me Miami plus 300. Yeah screw the big ten I hate them. Give me Texas tech plus 115 because.
B
I hate the big ten triple sprinkle against the big ten. Illinois should have been in. I throw me down for the Alabama and the Miami as well. I, I will not take the extra step for a full triple anti big 10 play but there is just that there, there is a little bit of the curiosity for me that even though we have fixed the seating right, we don't have the different seat. Are we still going to see some of those teams that have already gotten out, you know, pop the pads and sort of gotten to get the blood flowing a little bit. Are we going to get to see the the rest rust debate show up again? It is not something I feel strongly enough about to make it a huge part of my locks analysis but in sprinkles I am willing to entertain that Miami coming out of the win in College Station might have you know, a little bit of bounce to them that can help them close the gap just enough to make it interesting. Same to be said as much as well for Alabama. Remember both Miami and Alabama, the two teams I just said where did they win on the road. So they've already been out and you know kind of had to had to endure the challenges of going on the road and playing a high level game. So it should be interesting. And those were the moneyline sprinkles brought to you by FanDuel. Play your game. All right. With a few minutes that we've got left and we'll, we'll obviously once we get through the the new year and the quarterfinals, we'll have a lot more portal talk to come as those, those wheels are turning even before they go. Here's what you've got coming up in terms of the bowl schedule here on Monday afternoon. App State George Southern not just a Sunbelt rivalry but an old SoCon rivalry for the Birmingham Bowl. Anyone got any strong feelings there? I've got a funny take. It is not something you should bet. But we always talk about motivation. App State was like the ninth team to get asked to be in this bowl game and they actually said yes. So they want to be there. So motivation Edge mountaineers under it's 44.
E
Degrees with 16 mile per hour winds.
D
Yeah, I, I tend to agree it got bad a little bit this morning already, but yeah, I'm not betting over in this teams.
E
You're going to want to be there by the second quarter.
B
I'll tell you what, of all the, of all the handicaps that I've had to offer in the last maybe five or six days or so, the one that I felt the best about with the way it played out was something that we had talked about. Tom. I know. Does Yukon want to tackle in 26 degree weather? The answer was decidedly no.
E
No.
B
Army Soars over team total over 26 and a half by putting up 41 on the Huskies Tuesday. Three bowls on deck and of course the one that's going to have our attention is going to be Illinois and Tennessee playing in the Music City Bowl. Tom, what's, what's the read on this one?
E
Come on, you kidding? Illinois is going to crush those losers. It's going to be 36 degrees. They're not built for that. They're SEC. They don't know how to handle this Big Ten Midwestern cold. Also, they've had a lot of players opt out. Luke Altmire is going out. It's his final game. Tennessee did come after him in the off season. He's going to show them what they missed out on. And I'll pretend I'm not at all worried about neither Gabe Akis or J.C. davis playing. Because I mean who needs your best pass rusher? Not me. I don't need them.
B
So this is a, this is a frequent spot, as you might imagine for Them wanting to sell tickets. The idea that it's a Nashville based bowl game. So if you think you've heard this before, you have. And, and it's, it's usually pretty good. So they lost to Purdue 48 to 45 in the Music City bowl back in late 2021. They won the Music City Bowl 38 to 24 against Nebraska back in 2016. And then in late 2010, they lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels in the Music City bowl thanks to a throat slash personal foul penalty deciding the game. Shout out to Tyler Bray on that one.
E
I will point out Tennessee has a huge opportunity here. If they win this game, it will be the first time they've beaten a team with a winning record all year. Something Missouri was not able to say and is still not able to say.
B
That's ACC's back baby. Let's go. Else also on Tuesday you've got Coastal Carolina, Louisiana Tech, USC and TCU in the Alamo Bowl. I mean obligatory Alamo bowl always has the potential for fireworks, but you get USC and tcu. I don't know what it's going to look like, but I imagine there will be points.
E
No Josh Hoover, right?
B
No Josh Hoover.
E
Is Jaden Myava playing? I don't, I mean he's not going to have his top receivers I don't believe, but I just feel like I.
D
Would assume he's playing.
E
Yeah, I feel like USC's got a pretty decided quarterback edge in this one. So I lean the Trojans.
B
I mean they might have had a quarterback edge of Hoover plays.
E
Yeah. But now it's kind of large.
B
Then on Wednesday these will be the games on the 31st of December. Very fun slate, including the sun bowl on CBS between Arizona State and Duke. Also have that Iowa Vandy game. The dentist was discussing Michigan and then, then just a, a really, really interesting side by side here as we'll have Michigan playing against Texas while Utah plays against Nebraska. Because Kyle Whittingham literally got on a jet from one bowl location and went to another to be able to finalize this deal. So the Kyle Whittingham hours there on the 31st before we get into the College Football Playoff in the afternoon. Danny, one of those games on the 31st stands out to you.
C
The Michigan, Texas. I'm kind of curious to see, you know, Arch Manning, does he put a stamp on this season with a, you know, kind of finishing the year on a high note. Kick off his Heisman campaign, national championship campaign going into next season. Curious to see what you get out of Michigan. You know, if they're playing for the next head coach, they want to, you know, have a good resume builder for them going in, you know, kind of put some good film on tape. So, yeah, I think the Michigan Texas game is one I'm looking at.
B
Tom, Bud, what else from the 31st?
D
I mean, that's kind of the. The one I really want to watch. Well, you know, like, Iowa Bandy's really.
B
Good outside of the Sun Bowl.
E
Yeah, I was gonna say the big. Well, right.
D
The Sun Bowls.
C
Yes.
E
And Jeff Sims at the age of 45, finally put. Hanging up his cleats one last time. It's like Philip Rivers this week, Jeff Sims next week.
B
I mean, you've got. Listen, I'm. You've got one quarterback who re signed with his team, another quarterback who might be leaving his team Culture Edge Blue Devils. You know, I just, you got. I just, Just a question, a curiosity. Great. Manny Diaz and the, the Duke Blue Sombrero at the. The team arrivals. You know, he. He's. He's eating it up the. The Sun Bowl. I, I have not been myself, so I don't want to speak too much out of place, but I know a lot of people who have, mostly because of the acc, ties to that game. They. It is one of the bowl games that will sell a lot of tickets and have a lot of community involvement, no matter who's there. And that's cool. You know, that's. It's one of the. One of the last real gems of sort of the. The old bowl tradition there in El Paso. Of course, be careful if you decide to make the trek on foot across the border. Always, always go with the buddy system on that one. Let's see, anything else we want to get to for bowls for the week?
D
Nope.
E
I, I just. I, I can't wait to see who plays for Nebraska. Like that entire team left.
B
Yeah, I thought about updating my. I mean, I'm not. I'm. I am outside of the top 500, so I'm not threatening to. To win this thing, but I went through to do like a little update, and as I got to that game, I was like, should I change this to Nebraska with like a Kyle Whittingham's leaving? And I was like, no, absolutely not. Then I'm betting on. Then I'm betting on Nebraska.
E
I am. I went with Nebraska just to be contrarian. I'm trying to win this damn thing.
B
Well, that's. That's why you are. That's why you're the leader ahead of the four of us. As as opposed to. As opposed to sitting up there with Claire in the catbird seat.
E
And. And the splash contest is far more important than the locks competition, I believe, in the postseason. So that's I'm winning the one that counts.
D
I would agree.
E
Yeah.
D
Also, they sponsor us.
B
All right, make sure you keep your eyes on that feed because we will be delivering to you big game breakdowns for the four quarterfinals going inside the matchups, X factors, the places where the games will be decided. You got best bets here and a lot of betting talk. But what about the football of it all? We'll be giving that to you here coming up shortly. And then it is another double instant reaction week. That's right. On Wednesday the 31st, when Ohio State Miami go final, we will be live YouTube.com cover 3. Then New Year's Day, once we get Georgia and Ole Miss going final in the Sugar bowl, we will be live with another instant reaction where we will be reacting to the games. And then, of course, if you've been.

Main Bet Segments Begin – (13:06 onward)
Each host shares their best bets (LOCKS) and offers supporting analysis for each College Football Playoff quarterfinal. Picks include point spreads, totals, and team-specific props, with occasional debates and consensus.
[14:51 – 23:39]
Tom Fornelli (Miami +9.5):
"If you look at how Ohio State’s season has gone, they’ve played two teams with very good defensive fronts: Texas and Indiana. Two teams that gave them a hell of a lot of trouble. I do think Miami defensively will be able to give Ohio State some problems... I still think it's the right side to be on." (15:00)
Bud Elliott (First Half: Ohio State -4; Leans Under, Miami team total under):
"I think Ohio State’s defense is likely going to have a good bit of success here. They make you earn it a little bit more." (16:23)
Danny Kanell (Game UNDER 41.5):
"There's a lot of NFL talent on both these defensive sides... I do think defenses will dominate." (17:56)
Chip Patterson (First Half UNDER 21.5):
"I could see early in this game, Ohio State going back into that big-game attitude of 'we're just gonna run this football'... going up against a very, very good Miami defensive front could lead to a stalemate style first half." (20:33)
Discussion:
[24:40 – 31:33]
Danny Kanell & Bud Elliott (Oregon -2.5):
Danny: “I picked Oregon to win the national championship. I think they're the better team.” (25:36) Bud: “I just trust Dante Moore… He might be the best quarterback in this tournament.” (25:48)
Tom Fornelli (Texas Tech team total UNDER 26.5):
"I think Texas Tech will do a much better job defensively against Oregon than they're used to seeing… Texas Tech can win this game by not scoring a lot of points." (27:49)
Discussion:
[32:03 – 39:07]
Danny Kanell (Indiana -6.5):
"I'm not convinced Alabama has solved their issues... I still think Indiana's the better football team across the board." (32:32)
Bud Elliott (OVER 47.5 and Indiana 4th quarter -0.5):
"The loss of one of your best pass rushers is going to be beneficial to Ty Simpson and to Alabama’s ability to push the ball down the field through the air... I see a really good game played out." (34:24)
Tom Fornelli (OVER 47.5):
"Indiana, offensively, will be able to move the ball. They push the ball vertically in the passing game. We saw Oklahoma do that in the first round..." (37:04)
Bud Elliott (first half OVER 23.5):
"I like DeBoer to open games..." (36:16)
Caveats/Discussion:
[40:52 – 48:14]
Bud Elliott (UNDER 56.5):
"Georgia's defense has played really well down the stretch... I'm a little skeptical of what Georgia's offense has looked like over the past six quarters." (40:53)
Tom Fornelli & Danny Kanell (Georgia -6.5):
Tom: “If I was doing a lock of the week this week, this would be it. Georgia minus six and a half…” (42:00) Danny: “Let the children sing. I think Georgia’s the better football team. I think we already saw this matchup once…” (43:22)
Chip Patterson (First half UNDER 27.5, Georgia 3rd quarter -0.5):
"I think that as long as you follow the posted speed limits, you can get to a great place by going a little slower through the first half. And then... you cash them both." (44:37)
Special Guest Pick ("The Dentist" - Georgia team total OVER 30.5):
“The matchup that was deadly in the first meeting was Georgia’s tight ends against Ole Miss’s safeties. I don’t know what Ole Miss can do to try to offset this mismatch. Give me Georgia team total over 30 and a half.” (47:14)
Consensus:
On Whittingham’s Instagram:
Tom Fornelli (09:39): "He only follows 11 females on Instagram and all of them he’s related to."
Michigan's Need for Stability:
Tom Fornelli (09:30): "Most importantly, right now he's got a pretty pristine reputation, you know, that's desperately what Michigan needs."
On Oregon’s QB:
Bud Elliott (25:48): "...He might be the best quarterback in this tournament… I'm gonna ride with the better quarterback here."
On Georgia-Ole Miss Rematch:
Tom Fornelli (42:00): "If I was doing a lock of the week this week, this would be it. Georgia minus six and a half. Georgia had the ball for eight full possessions in the first meeting. Georgia scored on all eight possessions. Ole Miss did not stop them a single time."

The hosts maintain their signature blend of sharp analysis and light-hearted, self-aware banter, making the show engaging for both serious bettors and die-hard college football fans. Frequent jokes, callbacks, and inside references (like “let the children sing”) showcase camaraderie and long-running listener rapport.
Notable Final Thought:
Chip Patterson (47:11): “This is a Georgia team that once ate chicken from the field-level suites as they were running it up on TCU. They want to get Ole Miss going to their training bags, texting their agents.”
