Losses in there on the Texas, Vanderbilt under 45 and a half, USC minus five and a half. Penn State plus 21. You know, I agree with Jack in the chat. If I was going to play this, it would be that 41 and a.

Very small sample size, Danny. But I did see, I was looking it up. I think games with totals of 65 or higher are going over 62% of the time. But it's a very small sample.

That's like at the, when we're sitting here at the fringe. Right. Like the, the market won't let you get to a certain point on a total, but in reality it should be even higher. Interesting. And on the your, your guess is as good as mine. I would say. Just don't lose Thursday night in Kid Brewer Stadium. I mean I could see Georgia Southern winning that game. App State's been super inconsistent, but if I'm Dow Loggins year one, that's a game that means something to the people of Boone, North Carolina. So get yourself a win so that you can at least have that from a season that otherwise has you at 4 and 4, 1 and 3 in conference play. All right, moving on to Friday night where I do know that we've got a lock Bud Elliott. Where are we going?

We are going to LA where Lincoln Riley's an offensive coach. Hasn't got to put up big numbers in a couple weeks. This is kind of that like Rhett Lashley principle. If you got a chance to maybe go hammer down defense coming off that road trip, I think the offense is going to stay a little more consistent here. We're going to go over. We got any 50s out there?

Yeah, I see 49. Well shoot.

I, I think that they yeah, I, I do but it wouldn't shock me if Northwestern comes in there with the plans able to pop an explosive or two kind of out of nowhere. So I, I do like over better slightly interesting.

No, I mean I think too late. Memphis is all kinds of wild. I'm really looking forward to watching that. Actually.

Danny had the, the great analysis. I love that yesterday that when you just, you get these teams at the table. I don't want to like step on your toes. Get these teams at the top of the American together. What just, just get the points.

They not I was all when we had our top 25 pick show on CBS Sports Network. I did take Memphis for this. It's clearly not a lock. Danny took two lane. You're not offering it as a lock either, but who knows? It's gonna. It's a huge game. Massive significance there. Friday night, 9:00pm kickoff in Memphis, Tennessee. We will all be watching. We will not have a lock on it. And then Houston, ucf. Sure. I don't know. I don't know.

I wanted to take ucf, it's just then I'd have to bet on ucf.

Houston got pretty banged in that game.

Oh my play for this game is the under. I just. We talked about it. We got. We don't know if BYU can deal with this Texas Tech defensive line. That is the question that we deal with with every Big 12 team going up against the the Red Raiders. And I I'm not overly confident in their offense's ability to be consistent. I don't think they're going to get shut down. I just don't think they're going to be having a, you know, 30, 35 point kind of game. And I also think Tech's offense in recent weeks has been just very stop and start and also very inefficient. And I think that this BYU defense, well, I'm not going to say that their defensive line is on the same level as Texas Techs. I think their front seven is pretty Damn good. And I think their front seven can win a few of these battles and keep Tech in check. So under 52 and a half.

[Chip Patterson]

That'S where I'm at too on this one. It was something that I kind of spotted early on, a feel and at every point as I've been trying to dig into this and continue to back it up and continue to say it, the line hasn't moved and I haven't changed my opinion on this one. So it's probably not going to be a dance to the window. You know, the potential for explosive plays is going to be there. And if like we've said with any under you get a, you get a defensive or special team score, it could get real hairy real fast. But, but on a down, two down basis, I think BYU is going to make Texas Tech work for it. I think BYU is going to have a hard time putting together long drives against this defensive line. And I will say again, like I said last week on the reaction show, I just think number 31 is going to be everywhere. You know, 47 is going to have to look out for 31 and I think it's going to be a big game for that defensive line. So give me, give me the under in this game. Not wouldn't be surprised if it's close in terms of this big spread. But ultimately I think if it is close, it's probably just because it's a lower scoring game. It could be a game that is close on the scoreboard but doesn't feel close if that makes sense for that reason.

[Bud Elliott]

And the only reason I don't love full game like both sides under is I just think like the potential for you know, turnover short field scores definitely exists here with the amount of pressure on the quarterbacks. And also you know, BYU like they can bring the blitz pretty hard like that, that can lead like, like you know, scores on both sides. That's kind of baked into me. I, I'd much rather have under than over here. I'm gonna go under 20 and a half BYU team total. I text offense has been stalling a little bit which obviously helps full game. But I, I think the one thing that is to me is pretty bankable is that Tech D line.

[Chip Patterson]

And with Will. Great comment in, in from Max in the tailgate with, with Hammond out if Morton gets any one of his, you know, bi weekly nicks or tweaks, we're gonna, we're gonna see that. Yeah, yeah. This Tech offense could end up slowing things down. But I like that shout too.

[Danny Cannell]

Obviously I will take BYU now. We had a. Was 10 and a half yesterday. I'll still take it at 10. I don't love it at 9 and a half because I do think it's gonna be. I think it's gonna be a lower scoring game. So I kind of agree with all your guys take. But I do think LJ Martin expected to play. Now everything I've said.

Like if Missouri is able to hang in this game, I do think it'll be because of their defense, which is pretty good and they have been tough at home. I think that's the one thing that could be problematic. So I like a lower scoring game and I don't like. Yeah, Eli Drinkwoods could be in his bag and maybe get something going for Zollers, but he still is a young quarterback. I don't know. I still think that could be a struggle.

So I expect somewhat lower scoring game here. Auburn's team total in this game is 19 and a half. They've only gone over that number once in SEC play this year against Arkansas, which doesn't count, including a measly 3 points against Kentucky last weekend they averaged 15 points per game in SC play with the Arkansas game included 11.4 excluding Arkansas. I'm sorry, but unless the defense puts up some points, I don't see how Auburn gets to 20. Give me Auburn team total under 19 and a half.

All right, we're gonna go to East Carolina. Team that plays a little bit of salty defense, good attitude, big favorites in this game. They're looking a little bit better. Charlotte. Charlotte is lucky that UMass exists because man, I, I, if not Charlotte would be potentially the worst team in FBS. We're going to go Charlotte team total under 14. That offense just does not look like a functioning unit to me. So VCU doesn't turn it over deep in their own end. I would expect ECU to hold them under those two touchdowns. And we're going to go to. In speaking with a few other experienced Penn State beat reporters, our consensus this evening coming off the field is that what is that was the lowest energy viewing window we've ever seen in a long time. The Nittany Lions have four more Big Ten games ahead of them, starting with number two, Indiana. He is referencing the portion of practice they were allowed to watch yesterday. He is saying that the effort you have seen on the field in the last few weeks matches what you're still seeing in practice under this interim staff. Indiana minus 14 and a half. I was thinking maybe, maybe this would be like a rally spot for Penn State. But then after seeing that yesterday I was like, nah, Penn State's done.

So I saw that tweet after Putting in under 48 and a half, you know, kind of building on the Penn State's just sort of going through the motions. But now I'm concerned that Indiana could come close to hitting that like on their own. That 49 to nothing is not out of the realm of possibility here. So if I am imagining that that's a possibility, then yes, give me 14 and a half all day long. I also saw that message and I do not think that the Penn State assembled media is so in cahoots with Terry Smith that they are going to be trying to filter out information that does not represent what's happening. Like, like did they go low energy then when they closed media portion they had a circle the wagons moment? I think not just not going to be what I'm going to do for my bet, for my thought for this game. Yeah, lay it with Indiana and don't look back.

He's thinking about a game that Duke has scheduled against UConn on the road, but Darren Mensah has been on fire. The dude is playing lights out. Another team in the mix for the ACC title race. However, on the outside looking in, this is another one that doesn't matter, but I do think Duke gets the win comfortably. I'll lay the nine with the Blue Devils.

Sanford's got a good punter. Stanford's got pretty good special teams, but they don't have a great offense. We're going Stanford team total under 16 and a half.

I also think North Carolina's offense has been improving so well.

It was, this was a great line. My friend Adam Gold mentioned this. He said the Syracuse North Carolina game last Friday night was a, like a, a game of chicken to see who would completely throw out any. Even attempting the downfield pass, you know, screen passes, swing passes, extension of the run game stuff, that's fine. But just even attempting a pass more than 10 yards down the field for either one of those teams was going to be a negative. And North Carolina was the first one to do that. Damon June has a big game, you know, hits a couple screen passes, runs the ball hard, and that was why North Carolina was able to pull away. One of many reasons why North Carolina was able to pull away for the win.

Have you seen the end zone view? Like a cell phone camera from the end zone, like where an official would be standing. Jojo Trader, like ran into him and like tackled. He initiated the contact because I thought the same thing. I was like, oh, they got robbed. Shannon Dawson was like, he was unavailable. If you watch the coaches tape, you can't really tell, but there is an angle on the field level from behind and it looks like the defensive backs kind of just holding his ground and Jojo, like, Jojo runs into him and then he kind of runs over him and they just both go down in a heap like it was.

Memphis three and a half point favorites at home, to which I will be laying it with Memphis. I don't know why they're still getting disrespected. They had one hiccup. Okay. And I know their quarterback's always questionable, but then he keeps playing, so I'm going with a pretty solid chance he is going to play. And Tulane just got spanked, so I don't know why we're not drawing any attention to that. So I feel like Memphis in a must win spot. I mean every game is a must win at this point, but I Would like to take the three and a half at home with Memphis.

Okay, that's. You know what's interesting? That was a, it was a stay away for all four of us. You're the only one that's brave enough. Yeah, they caught the confidence to step in to get on the other side of some. A market that's taking this from five and a half to three and a half. Will not call them the Ohio State of last year by any means, but just thinking about that team and how we were questioning them up until the playoffs, like, I feel like this is the right timeline for this team.

It's to cover 17 and a half. It would require defensive, special teams, touchdown or scoring most of most every possession here in this game. So, yeah, with a one o' clock start time, give me Purdue.

Let me lock agreement then let's go. Because I no lie, I did have written down Purdue 29 and a half, but I'm sitting there thinking, thinking, my goodness, Ohio. So what's their record against the spread? What is 7 and 1? Are they even?

Oh, it goes back to the start of the playoffs last year where it's like 12 and oh, straight up 11 and one against the spread.

Yeah. But I'm like, man, that's a lot of points. I just take Purdue. But I actually really do like the first half number there because I do think it just. They're so scary. They're so good. Like, could they be worried about Julian saying chasing the Heisman? Like, do they keep throwing a couple touchdowns late? But I also think Barry Odom's defense has probably been playing better than anybody and realizes out there. So that could be a little bit of a challenge. Not much, but a little bit of a challenge for the Buckeyes.

[Tom Fornelli]

Honestly, if you just bet Ohio State to cover the spread every week of the Ryan Day era, you would be up a significant amount.

[Chip Patterson]

Yeah, Ryan gets a little disappointed about one or Two first half drives that stall out, you know, that's all we need. Right? And then you've protected yourself from the get right that could come from the third quarter reminder. Last year Ohio State was the best third quarter team in America. All right, I've got one left.

All right, boys there. Nobody likes watching Wisconsin football and Wisconsin doesn't like playing Wisconsin football because if you've watched them, they are the slowest moving team on offense in the country. They just want to get the damn game over with. They're at home this week facing Washington, who's got a road trip going on. But also if you look at Washington's schedule like their path to the playoff right now is just don't lose to Wisconsin, Purdue and UCLA and then beat Oregon. So I think Washington, on the road in a tough spot will probably be pretty happy just to kind of get a lead and sit on this if presented with the opportunity. So give me Washington. Wisconsin under 45 and a half.

Coastal Carolina has been stringing together some wins. They've been stringing together some covers since making the change. So I have clearly making an argument for Georgia State is very, very tough given all the football that the Panthers have played so far this year. So I know that seven and a hook is dangerous, but down there on the teal turf where the concessions are free and the vibes are great in the suburbs of Myrtle Beach, I will take Coastal to cover the spread.

They're playing much better. They are.

I think if you're starting a freshman quarterback, the game plays to a wider potential range because like the guy does have talent. We don't know if he'll play to that talent in this game.
